Professions:
Martial Artist
A Martial Artist is someone who specializes in hand-to-hand combat, completely or very close to unarmed. They usually have good insight in the aspects of weight, balance and movement of the body. Characters with this profession have access to certain additional traits and may create "Stance" techniques.
Inventor
An Inventor is a man or woman with knowledge in how various mechanical devices work. They have good insight in how blueprints work, and can upgrade weapons, build explosives and battle engines if they have enough materials.
Position: Captain/Masochist
- Height: 6’9” Weight:285 Pounds Hair: Dark brown, kept in a variety of styles due to his life return ablilites, although he has two styles that he commonly uses. One is a more wild version of his original haircut, which is accompanied by a short, rugged brown beard, while the other a much cleaner version of his original haircut, with the sides of his heads cut close, with the top loosely spiked. He often also keeps his signature foot-long stag beetle horns of hair on either side of his head. Eyes: Brown, oval-round, extremely expressive. Clothing/Accessories: On a normal basis, Write now wears his normal red flannel shirt, tucked in with only the bottom buttoned fastened, and his sleeves rolled up to elbow level. His black pants are rolled up, slightly past his knee, and are still accompanied by his black belt with a brass buckle, which has a gear on it. Finally, he now either wears a pair of black rubber slippers, or goes barefoot.
Alternately, Write wears a full set of plate armor, which he affectionately refers to as "Shackle." This dark grey armor has a Hercules Dragon motif due to the place of its creation- Nemea. General Appearance: Write is two things- big and beat to hell and back. That is to say, his body is large and muscular, and riddled with numerous scars, including star shaped scars from where metal plates were torn from his body, third degree burns, about fifty round puncture wounds, several cuts, and a few bullet holes.
Another fairly apparent feature is the fact that he is paraplegic, completely paralyzed from the waist down. Because of this, he either uses life return to twist and control hair around his legs, allowing him to walk, albeit clumsily, or uses a wheelchair.
- Personality: Write's journey through the Grand Line has changed him a great deal as a person. Where he began passionate in technology and staunchly against hurting people vitally, both of these features have begun to peter out, both for their own reasons. While he still is careful about violence in general, he now sees bloodshed as a necessary evil, and even has a tendency to snap violently when aggravated, a trait he picked up by spending a large amount of time with a certain young lady.
His fear of fire has now almost completely vanished, due most entirely to his exposure to Valkyrie, and her habit of burning things. However, he still holds onto the habits he developed over his years of pyrophobia, such as snuffing out unneeded candles and double checking that fires are completely extinguished.
It's no secret that Write is a bit of a masochist, though he has endured so much pain in his journey that he has effectively learned to ignore it, only feeling it when he chooses to do so. On several occasions, he's been known to call the pain he ignores 'not worth feeling.'
Overall, Write is a passionate soul, generally cheerful and talkative, though he is prone to fits of extreme emotion, namely rage and depression. Though he doesn't let it out very often, he has trouble with direction and self worth, leading him to beat himself up and over think things that other people say.
Lastly, Write's haki and the nature of it unlocking have caused him to face internal conflict between his ambition and his ideals. This has made him more willing to do things that he would have outright rejected in the past and made him a bit more selfish when his ambitions arise. This in turn tends to amplify his regret and depression later, complicating his conflict further. Laugh: Ja-Shahaha
Hometown: Mirrorball Island, East Blue History:
Prelude to Adventure
Grit T. Write was born of the Grit family of East Blue, regarded for their high skills in ship making. As a young child, his parents used to tell him stories of the great pirate crew of legends, specifically their shipwright, who built one of the only ships to ever concur the Grand Line. The stories filled Write's mind, and he dreamed of one day being like that shipwright. However, it was not in the way his parents had hoped.
Write dreamed of being a cyborg, obsessing over tinkering with the devices he found, specifically his golden pocket watch. Little of his time was spent practicing carpentry, much to his parent's dismay. However, after some time they decided to let him follow his dreams. Little did he know that soon he would be closer to his dreams then he ever imagined.
One night, Write was tinkering by candle light when he made a mistake that would change the course of his life. Reaching for a tool, he knocked over his candle onto a greasy rag. I his confusion, a fire soon engulfed the room, charring the flesh of his arms, face, and chest. Searing pain swept over him at first, then he felt nothing.
Luckily, a passing pirate noticed the smoke and jumped into action. Commanding the other members of the Grit family to evacuate, he fought his way through the inferno, retrieving the badly burnt Write.
When he came to, the crew's doctor was tending to his wounds. He told Write that he was lucky to be alive, and that his nerve endings were severely damaged on his face, arms, and part of his chest.
"There was once a man, a companion of the Pirate King, who found the cure for all illness," The Doctor said, "although his notes are mostly lost, many doctors still travel to the Grand Line, seeking the same knowledge he obtained."
During his recovery, Write mulled over what the doctor had said to him. his arms were now weak, and his face was twisted and disfigured. A large, blotchy scar that grew silver on his chest, while his legs were largely unscathed by the ordeal. Applying his own skills in mechanics with the help of a full-fledged mechanic, he began to rebuild himself like his childhood hero had done so long ago.
Spending his time tweaking his own prosthetics, he gained a large degree of knowledge regarding mechanics and medicine. His dream was extended, deciding he would travel to the Grand Line, furthering his knowledge and making himself into the perfect cyborg, capable of defending the weak and saving the sick and injured.
After years of training, he has deemed himself ready to set sail in a world he has only heard and read about thus far.
Blue Sea Saga- Romance Dawn
East Blue Arc- Calm Before the Storm On a remote island in East Blue, Write's journey truly began. His small vessel docked to restock, he stumbled upon an old man, who's son was taken by the marine's. Working to find him, he met Junior Lieutenant Pie of the Navy, and a teenaged girl named Valkyrie. After a bit of a struggle, he worked together with her to save the man's son, and themselves, earning small bounties in the process...
Red Sand Island Arc- Crimson Blood on Scarlet Sand Deciding to stick together for the time being, Write and Valk made their way to Red Sand island, where they met Malcolm and Drea, fellow travelers who eventually offered their assistance with a group of Marine's that had come pursuing Valkyrie and Write. However, a seaking attack diverted Marine attention away from them, while the commanding officer and most of the enlisted men went to repel it. This left only the trio of semi-human marine experiments to fight the four of them. For the time being, they escaped from the island on a small merchant vessel, unaware of what would happen next.
Open Ocean Arc- Devil Ray among the Waves In the waters of West Blue, they moved along, trying to make as much distance as possible from Red Sand Island. Unfortunately, something was following them... A devil-ray fishman, former owner of the deceased seaking came for revenge, prompted by the Marine's of the island to save their on skins from the Fishman Karate master. After a long, drawn-out ordeal that could only be described as ridiculous, an identical seaking appeared, swallowed Drea whole, then left along with the fishman... It was pretty much bullshit...
Gunsmoke Island Arc- Vice and the Pirate Hunters The shattered remains of the vessel came to a halt at Gunsmoke island, where Valkyrie and Write met Vice, Van, and Cassie. Dropping off the severely injured Malcolm, they proceeded to assist Vice in a plot to take a devil fruit from the "king" of that portion of this island, in exchange for a large ship. It wasn't much later before Write was finally forced into a true life-or-death situation, in which he took his first life- that of the Captain of the Guard in King Greyson's castle. Other lesser things happened, and the three men and two women promptly got the fuck away.
The following day, they were confronted by a group of goons who gave them a run for their money and left, but not before issuing a challenge to meet them again in the grand line and face the powerful man that hired them, and giving Valkyrie a magic slap. Said slap altered her body from fourteen years old to eighteen, successfully making her legal for Blade's selfish purposes.
Reverse Mountain Arc- Out of the Blues, and Into Danger Dropping off the pair of bounty hunters on a different island, Write, Valk, and Write began their journey to the grand line by going up Reverse Mountain. After telling Write the truth of her past, there was a clash between the pair regarding their future together. There was drama, action, romance, the whole shebang. You should read the full story for yourself. In any case, they made it over the mountain, and entered the most dangerous sea in the world.
- Combat: Though Write is physically quite strong and capable of big attacks, he often wins fights through clever thinking and underhanded tactics. This will often include letting himself take a great deal of damage to close distance or lull the enemy into a false sense of security. He is built for endurance, and will use a combination of haki, tekkai, and traditional armor to soak up damage, and is even able to outright ignore pain.
As a master of life return, he often utilizes his hair control to bind or attack, and can even form it into wrappings he uses to be able to walk, as well as a humanoid form that he calls a 'Stand,' and refers to as Gaucho Amigo.
He is also adept in a sloppy form of Rokushiki, despite having no formal training in the art, or even knowing what it is exactly. Despite being wheelchair-bound, he has even found ways to use the flash step and skywalk techniques.
Weaponry:
Shackle- /Ice-Play/
A bulky, durable suit of armor, specially forged to be able to soak up extreme amounts of damage. Though lacking a helmet, Shackle's construction is unmatched, with an inner layer of Seaking Leather, harvested from a seaking with naturally cool skin. This leather both insulates Write from rapid changes in temperature and helps to keep him cool, preventing him from overheating during normal use.
The outer construction is comprised of overlapping metal plates, connected for the ideal balance of flexibility and strength. The entire set is made of titanium.
Aesthetically, Shackle is a dark, shiny grey, with brass detailing and rivets. All leather, including the straps and belts is dark brown. In general, it has a beetle motif, based off of Nemea's Hercules Dragons, which is most apparent when viewing the shoulder/upper arm portions, which are adorned with the likeness of the insect's heads.
The suit is also integrated with a chilling system that dramatically decreases its temperature. This chilling equates to a rank 28 technique, and is able to add a freezing element to his physical attacks, as well as provide some protection against heat-based attacks. The system is activated via a switch on the buckle of the armor.
General Idea, sans Helmet, Plus Beetle Motif
Façade
A surprisingly thin and lightweight suit of plate armor made to fit over Shackle. As opposed to the dull and battle-worn appearance of Shackle, Façade is shined to a mirror-like finish and intricately carved with ornate reliefs of twisted ropes tied in shibari ties. Despite its appearance, it is little more than a thin shell of iron, offering a small boost in defense, but mostly a tool of beautification. Like Shackle, it is a full suit sans helmet.
Swank Wheelchair
Write gets a shiny new titanium wheelchair with pistols installed on the arm rests. It's actually pretty damn cool since the titanium chair can transform into a walker, or up to two canes that double as pistols. The rims on the wheels, which spin and are way too damn shiny can be detached and used either as shields or throwing discs. Unlike the rest of the chair, these shields are made of steel. Also it comes with the added bonus of making any moral opponent feel guilty and hesitant about attacking Write due to him being crippled.
Caledfwlch
A steel hand and half sword that Write is absolutely terrible at using, at least in terms of how swords are intended to be used. It has been shined to a mirror-like finish, and has the words ‘Take me up’ etched on one side and ‘Cast me away’ etched onto the other. The cross guard and pommel are made of shined bronze, with the cross guard taking the appearance of two snarling chimeras. Embedded in the hilt is a lamp dial, which makes the entire blade shine when activated.
Legend says that this blade shines with light to blind, can cut through anything, and has a scabbard that prevents its user from dying of blood loss. As it happens, that’s all complete bullshit.
Items: Pocket watch, tinkering kit, tool box
Red Shade Aviators
The Titan Gift
a stuffed bunny that sheds pear seeds. These are mundane pear seeds, but given water, sunlight, time, and especially love, will some day turn into bountiful pear trees.
Mopresso Machine
In a flash a of light, a small box appeared in front of Write. Inside was a coffee maker with a pair of instructions to go with it. It was a fancy red and round machine and left room for small shots, filling up a whole thermos and could even be used to mix all kinds of ingredients in the coffee for all kinds of flavours. This machine will rest in Write's ship kitchen and will always move along with him. The instructions inside describe a formula of coffee that makes Write's cyborg upkeep rise at only half it's rate (2 posts for 1%) making it double as effective as any bland a mortal could make.
Additionally, Write gains the ability to consume a quick shot of Mopresso to boost his speed and accuracy by 20% (capped at +15) for 3 posts once per sl. The effect can be extended for 1% extra upkeep (does NOT cap) per post extended. The initial 3 posts have no extra upkeep.
Bitchin' Beans
Doe Kopa the chef apparently was carrying on him a large amount of coffee beans. Though wet even in the package they contain enough beans for 5 cups of coffee that has a very strong acidic quality to it more so than other coffees burning much more intensely. Cups worth remaining- 4/5
Saint Drunk's Bourbon Hunting Bottle
~ Saint Drunk's Bourbon Hunting Bottle: A magical bottle of bourbon with a very fancy shape that makes it look expensive. Tastes just like regular bourbon and aside from the label having some guy that looks a lot like Egoraptor on it, there is no real defining weird thing about it. However once per sl, any character drinking from this will get drunk off their ass no matter the quantity they drank. No exceptions, even Zoro and Nami would get drunk off this stuff. The drunken spree lasts at least for 4 posts. The bottle magically manages to refill itself between sl's.
Ominous Note
In addition, everyone suddenly finds a note slipped into their pocket (except Cassandra). They were all torn away from a single piece of paper and each have some weird blood marks on them. When put together, a hidden message is revealed. R͏҉ưn̛͝ ̡́w̡҉҉h̷͘i͏͢͝l̡̀͠e͏̶ ̴͡y̨o͟͞u̡҉ ̢̧c̷a̴͢͜n͞͡
A Man's Ambition
One 7-foot long, 2 foot wide pillow made of cotton fabric and filled with goose down.
To go along with this, he has a few pillow cases that are printed on either side with life-sized images of OPRP characters, in various outfits, of stages of undress (Although it's all good and PG-13). Currently, his collection is rather meager, but he hopes to expand it on his travels.
Among his collection are 2 covers featuring Dani LaFleur , the famous idol, one with her wearing a t-shirt and pair of khaki short on one side, and a 2-piece swim suit on the other, while the other has basically the same outfit, but with a different shirt and swim suit, and the addition of a pair of thigh-high stockings.
Another unusual case features a low quality and poorly edited printing of Daisuke G. Fist, with one side featuring him wearing a fancy suit, and the other wearing nothing but a tight pair of shorts. The material feels itchy on the skin.
He also possesses one highly sought-after pillow case that has line art of the famous bounty hunter Nyx Motley wearing a cocktail dress on one side, while the other side has been left blank. The artist is unknown, but his (unlicensed) work is highly regarded among collectors. Perhaps one day Write will have it upgraded to a colored version.
An interesting find was a pillow featuringLilian Reim, supposedly made by Bounty Hunter Weekly without her permission. Due to the legal issues surrounding their production, they were made in an extremely short run, and are now highly prized among collectors. It features her in her trademark skirt and tank top, and has been praised for being a highly refined design.
Another is a rather distinctive pillow featuring up-and-coming bounty hunter Sakura Sakisorou provocatively sliding her signature tiger-fur coat off of her shoulders. Because she was relatively unknown until recently, this Rolling Seastone exclusive didn't sell very well. If she ever found out that she was a pillow, and didn't sell very well, she probably wouldn't be very thrilled.
The next features female Mako Shark Fish(wo)man, Veice Vicious. While not normally one for bestiality, because this pillow features a member of the under-represented Fishman race, Write keeps this as a symbol of his support for his fishmen brothers. Also, she doesn't look bad either.
Another fun little bootleg pillow features none other than the captain of the Shining Black Pirates, Colour. One side has the 'pirate' reclining whilst wearing nothing but his signature helmet and a few silver feathers covering up his man bits, while the other side has a clothed version of the same.
A new favorite, this pillow has none other than Clover Soto on it! One side is her in a school uniform-style one piece swimming suit, while the other side has her in a equally non-canon sailor uniform. Both sides have a rather blank, vacant expression.
A Bounty Hunter Weekly exclusive, this pillow has artwork of the rising starJessica Amber Parker. One side has the southern belle lying face up in her signature boots, shorts, and shirt, with the top few buttons undone, while the other has her in the same outfit, but lying on her stomach, and glancing over her shoulder provocatively.
Another addition to his beastiality line, this pillow dips into the realm of lolicon as well, featuring everyone's favorite underaged fish-scum- Minette. One side has the fish girl in a happy pose with a happy expression, while the other is a bit more 'Wah- What are we gonna do on the bed?'
Last for now is another Bara pillow, this one of the dangerous Supernova pirate Leander Hastings. Both sides have him wearing nothing but a tiny, tiny pair of tight shorts and smoking a cigar, although on one he appears slightly annoyed, while on the other he seems embarrassed, and is blushing a deep red.
Singer Dolly
Tengu receives a stuffed english songwriter! This plush was specially made at Build a Musician, a relatively unknown stuffed animal vendor, and is dressed in a jacket and carries a plush guitar. However, the guitar has a small tone dial inside it, and when the guitar is pressed, the song Tengu is submitted is supposed to play out loud. Unfortunately there was a manufacturing error and some extremely loud screamo music starts to play. It annoys the hell out of Tengu's character's opponents, giving them a -5 strength debuff, but somehow pumps up him and his allies, giving them a +5 strength buff. Both the buff and debuff last as long as the song plays (4 posts) and the guitar won't play the song again until after another 4 posts. The tone dial can also never be removed.
Stink Bomb
1 stinkbomb: knocks out or scares away any minor npc if thrown at them and grosses out everyone else badly. Releases a foul smelling gas in a 2 meter radius. Gets one per sl.
A Man's Ambition, Dangerous Edition
Limited Edition Valkyrie Pillow!: This pillow is custom designed to have a picture of any character the user wishes in any pose they want (Any NPC that they’ve met or any PC character whom they have player permission from). Once per SL, once this pillow is slept on by its owner it will instantly put them to sleep. Once asleep, the user may dream of the said character whom the pillow has a design of. They are able to interact with said character, though that character is just a figment of their imagination and not the actual character. Sadly, the dream always ends with the said character turning into a pillow.
I will stab you if you make a portal reference
Slice of Wedding Cake - This piece of red velvet cake with white frosting is quite honestly the most delicious thing in the entire world. People's mouths will water if they catch sight of it, the temptation almost to great to great to not eat it. The character can only eat it once ever, but the pure deliciousness of the cake will send them into bliss for who knows how long.
Wet T-Shirt
Wet T-Shirt - This white t-shirt is quite stylish, yet is always wet around the chest area no matter how many times it's dried. Once per a storyline, the character can put this on and become unbelievably attractive for three posts, making it easier to sway the opinions of weak minded NPCs. However, the user also becomes extremely angry, and after the effect wears off, they will just look awkward and embarrassed, with everyone laughing at them.
Mystery Monocle
Everyone gets a monocle! Yay! not only do you look smarter but your detective skills go up when you wear it. It makes you feel really smart but does not otherwise let you bypass and trivialize all puzzles as previously indicated.
Mild Inconvenience Note
For solving(or just surviving) the mystery of Kira get a Kira notebook. This is a blank notebook however it feels very important and when you have it you feel godly. Once per sl when you write a person's name in the book a very minorly annoying thing will happen to them. (for example hitting their head on the door frame, tripping over shoe laces, sitting down on a something wet.)
Mouse Kebab
At the Angel Feast, Tengu ended up with a mouse skewered by a kebab. It would make a tasty treat or serve to make small animals apprehensive about messing with Write if waved in the direction of the animals.
Dddwarf Beard
- It appears Dddwarves shave sometime. This beard has been cobbled together from the Dddwarf hair and makes you look like a Dddwarf besides the obvious size difference. The beard is colored to match the user’s hair. Once per storyline you can put on the beard and mooks won't be able to recognize you for a single post.
Quintessence of Thursday
This round marble is soft as putty, though it always reforms to it's original round shape. It is clear as glass and has a subtle iridescent quality, occasionally glinting oddly subdued shades in every colour of the rainbow. It seems to radiate a stifling aura, filling the air around it with an almost primordial sort of stillness that makes taking any action at all seem unnatural. Holding on to this, the user feels like they could just do nothing at all and everything would somehow turn out alright.
Baby Den Den Mushi
A deep purple shell, with a silver swirl, mounted on a dark-brown leather strap, allowing it to be worn on the wrist. The actual snail is white in color, and stores 3 small wigs in it’s shell, switching them depending on who is talking, a long purple wig, a black frohawk wig, and a smooth emerald wig. This is carried by Write.
Steamy Pillow
A cuddly hugging pillow with a coffee maker built inside and the likeness of Fudo Saiken printed on one side, and Zain S. Sayad on the other. The pillow comes with a special type of coffee, ADHD Coffee Beans which give the jitters to anyone who touches coffee made from them, causing a -10 accuracy for 5 posts. There's enough of these beans for one use per SL, and he finds more mysteriously in the pillow at the start of each new SL. They degrade pretty fast, so no hoarding.
Never Forget
Write gets to keep the loli-sized blue and white striped panties he stole, as a reminder of what a pedophile masochist he is.
Love and Friendship~
The character finds in their possession a picture of their crew or all the people in general together. Once per sl, when looking at this picture the character no matter how badly beaten gets a shonen boost that allows them to continue to fight at full strength for 3 posts before all the effects kick back in again from the beatings.
Spooky Portrait
This portrait of Write will remain in his ship no matter how he try to dispose of it, eerily returning each time to their room in the ship. Why would he try to get rid of it? Well, whenever the he is hurt from now on, the damage is displayed on the portrait as well, although the wounds never heal and will constantly accumulate. Because destruction isn't viable, hiding it is highly encouraged.
Parallel Uni-View Master
A red pair of toyish stereoscopic glasses with corresponding reels that can be inserted through the side. The object earns its name because of what the stereoscope reveals; the wearer perceives his events, surroundings, and fellow people as if they existed in another existing canonical universe (for example, when viewed through the Bleach reel, a swordsman might be viewed as wearing a dark kimono, and their sword might appear to resonate an aura of power.* A Slam Dunk reel might cause characters to be perceived as though wearing basketball jerseys, glistening with sweat. A Kill la Kill reel might... uh... UH.)
*Of course, this is limited solely to perception.
Alpha and Omega
One Pillow to rule them all, One Pillow to find them, One Pillow to bring them all and in the perversion bind them. Forged by a premium otaku good production company, this pillow is a prototype of a product line that was never released to the general public, as it was considered ‘too expensive’ and ‘only a real freak would buy this.’ While it appears like any other body pillow, it has several technological functions that any sane person would think are wasted on a pervert’s pillow.
The pillow itself is soft but firm to touch, boasting unrivaled comfort and realism when it comes to wanting to cuddle with a stand-in for a real person. It is also very easy to clean, which the notes attached stresses for some reason. Also, it is the right size and completely compatible to use with all of his covers.
The first function is the simple rank four effect of vibration, with a toggle switch allowing the entire cushion to vibrate softly. The second function is a small rank four heater that can be used to make the pillow about as warm to touch as a human body. The third function is a tone dial, which has been embedded deep within the goose down inside. If one were to remove the dial and look at it, they will find that it has “Cute Girl Noises” haphazardly scribbled on it with permanent marker. The fourth and final function is a flavor dial, which again has been embedded within the pillow. Again, if removed one would find that it has the unsettling words “Cute Girl Smells” written on it.
Overall, it is the epitome of everything that is wrong in the world.

Description: Instead of separating his hair limbs from his body, Write layers them over his natural limbs, causing them to increase in length and thickness. Due to this layering, he has a much higher degree of control over these extensions than he does over separate limbs. At maximum, he can extend 2 limbs, which can be up to double their original length and thickness. They are also as durable as normal flesh and blood, and appear the same as Gaucho’s limbs.

Description: A technique that combines Write’s abilities of haki and life return in order to allow for cutting attacks with his hair. This works by adding incredible tension to selected strands of hair that have been imbued with haki, increasing their tensile strength as to allow for the force exerted on them. This, in turn, creates a cutting edge similar to that of razor-sharp wire. Useful for hair horns and extra limbs. Also, stands. Works pretty well with stands.
