Rust Pit Island, the second island along the fifth route down the Grand Line, was without any official marine base. However, marine vessels still patrol the waters surrounding it, making it dangerous for pirates to pass through. Some pirates manage to evade these patrols through great speed and coordination, others through sheer luck, but in the case of Kaji "Dragon" Jones and his companions, they did so through disguise. Hiding among the band of travelers from an island deep in the Grand Line, they managed to pass through without drawing suspicion. Now, having finally reached their destination, they were set loose on Rust Pit Island while their generous transporters prepared to continue on their journey.

"This is it, you two. Pretty impressive we managed to get here so fast, if we're lucky we'll be ahead of schedule." Kaji said with a smile as he walked down the plank from the edge of the ship to the island below. His hands twitched with anticipation, he rubbed his claws together, clenched and unclenched his fists.

"Now, would you be so kind as to lead the way, Esel-man?" He said as he set foot on the dusty red island soil and turned to face the octopus merman they'd brought along. The long black tentacles hanging from his head in the place of hair shifted a bit, but did not turn bright red with anger as they had before the journey began. The trip had turned him docile, after numerous attempts to overtake Kaji, all of which ended in failure. He hadn't run short on malice though, and spoke bitterly.

"That's not my name, you ass." He muttered. "And it's not like you need me to lead you anywhere, there's only one decent town on this dump, and we're pretty much there."

The ship had let Kaji and his group off near Cango Village. It was a small village certainly, in fact the smallest of the three villages on the island. It was close enough that Kaji could already see passing people watching the group of odd strangers standing around by the coast.

"Yeah, but you're the only one who knows where the rest of the Razorback pirates are. I don't wanna roam around asking everybody where the pirates are. I don't want to start drawing attention to us until I'm already in the process of liberating Anna. So do us a favor, one good buddy to another!" Kaji put a hand on the merman's shoulder in a friendly manner, but applied a rather intimidatingly strong amount of force into his grip.

"I sincerely and genuinely hope you die, you ass."

"Your hatred is your most charming feature. Now onwards, before our princess winds up in another castle."

With a sigh, the merman lead the way into town, desperately searching for his captain and his crew.

By the bulwark of the ship a lone figure stood and watched the island, her name was Tamir Easthaven, she was a near complete Android, that is to say her entire body with the exception of a scant few organic parts was completely made out of metal. Over her face she wore a beautifully painted doll mask, the last gift from the man who had made her into what she is.

It was with a vague sense of unease she viewed the rust-red island, she was mostly machine and so a place made almost entirely of rust made her nervous. Noticing that Kaji 'Dragon' Jones, her de facto leader was walking down the gangplank she moved to followed

”What schedule?”

She slightly sarcastically commented while giving Esel-man the evil eye, his behaviour during the trip hadn't curried him any favours, to put things mildly. Tamir would be happy to kick him off the ship if it wasn't for the fact that he was a good swimmer, perhaps she could tie him up first so that a seaking would get to snack on him?

Walking off the vessel she looked around, the island was if anything more rusty up close than it had looked at a distance, she wondered if Anna was really here or if this was a wild goose chase, well no way to find out other than looking around.

”it is your name now, Esel-Man”

she spoke to the Esel-man in a tone that told much clearer than words that she would love nothing more than to beat the living daylight out of him, alas Kaji kept beating her to the punch, both figuratively and literally speaking and she hadn't gotten to as much as lightly bruise the rude fishman.

Talos was rather amazed by this island, he hadn't encountered this one on his way to the blues from his hometown and it was quite impresseive that seemingly this whole island had been built from the the wreckage. Crossing his large blueish arms over his chest Talos looked out at the island before turning toward their guide. "So." The white karate gi wearing fishman spoke up in a loud baritone. "Mind telling me a little bit about the history of this island? How did it come to exist? I can't imagine so many people would be dumb enough to crash their ships here to the point it made an island."

"The schedule of the poachers, of course. Would be nice if we showed up before they expected their stout friend here to arrive, wouldn't it? If we're lucky we can get the drop on them and catch them completely off guard! As it is, we've got the advantage of them not expecting a monster trio to come at them with hostile intent." Kaji folded his arms as his mouth twisted into a wry smile.

"The last time I went to rescue someone, which feels like a pretty long time ago now, I went in guns blazing and drew a lot of attention. I was fine, but another cyborg I knew who joined my crew later got the drop on the marines because of the little disturbance I caused. In this case, the Razorbacks will be focused on protecting their hostage and waiting for Esel-man. And more importantly- "

He threw open his arms, his smile growing broad. "It gives us the advantage of a dramatic entrance! I'd say we deserve an entrance that makes us look good!"

Esel-man looked less than pleased with Kaji's enthusiastic attitude, scoffing and looking off to the side. He remained silent until Talos addressed him.

"How the hell should I know, you ass? It's a big round dusty dump with a nasty color, do I look like a tour guide to you?"

Kaji nudged the merman. "Hey now, I happen to like the place. And from what I understand, there was a massive battle at sea that happened around this place, and the blood and wreckage lumped together to form the island. I dunno where the rusty mineral they mine fits into that story though, so it might be less than factual."

The merman rolled his eyes at Kaji's story, an action so cliche that people only did it when they were intentionally trying to show how annoyed they were. As such, Kaji punched the merman in the arm. It looked like a casual jab, but the merman staggered. Esel-man clutched his arm defensively, but didn't say anything.

The group passed by the first of what would soon become scattered rows of red brick buildings. It was a humble village, without much fancy or especially uniform looking buildings, but there were people about that gave it a lively feel. The pirates, mostly Talos and Tamir, continued to draw attention from the occasional passing person. Most people glanced over, then looked away. Some, especially older people, simply stared openly, not even diverting their gaze when looked at. They didn't seem suspicious or hostile, necessarily, simply curious. It was the kind of place where no matter how many strange characters pass through, people were always interested in those who showed up.

Between a fishman, a merman, and a metal woman, the only thing preventing Kaji from fading into the background was the energy that seemed to be radiating from him. Everything about the fast pace of his walk, the smile on his face, and the fire in is eyes conveyed just how amped up he was. Even though Esel-man was leading the way, Kaji walked in front, glancing over his shoulder to make sure he was still going the way their guide intended.

Suddenly, Esel-man stopped, looked back at Tamir and Talos, and broke into a sprint. Kaji looked from Esel-man to the direction he was headed in and lazily extended his hand.

"Stop. Wait. Come back."

The merman didn't hear Kaji's sarcastic call, however, as he was far too busy trying to distance himself from his captors and reach the man standing in front of a small table with an awning. He was a tall man with slicked back black hair, wearing a pair of polarized sunglasses and a green snakeskin jacket. He appeared to be haggling the man behind the table over some of what looked like scrap parts he had for sale, but he stopped when he saw Esel-man running towards him.

Tamir was reminded of the fact that there was one more fishman around when Talos spoke, she had done her best to try and ignore his presence on the way, while she dislike him nearly as much as the Esel-man he was not a presence she was overly fond of. In fact she would very much like to give him an asskicking, not lethally mind you but just to put Talos in his place.

The smiled a bit under her mask at the thought, listening to Kaji speaking with enthusiasm about catching her would-be kidnappers off guard. Doing a gesture as if pouncing on someone the Android spoke

”That would be fun~ let's give them a real show!”

It was obvious based on her tone that she would genuinely find such a thing fun, she'd been stuck in that tank so long that the craving for something interesting to do wouldn't subside for quite a while yet.

Hearing about how the island was allegedly formed Tamir couldn't help but to find the entire story suspicious, there had to be more to it than that but she doubted it was something she would find out, and it was not like she was overly curious, the place just made her feel nervous since so much rust in one place combined with the fact that she was made almost entirely of metal did not make her a happy camper.

As they moved through the village with the red brick buildings the Android waved at a few of the elderly that stared a bit 'too' openly at them, she didn't particularly mind being looked at but it just felt weird. Then again just being out in the sun and around other people still felt weird, Tamir somehow suspected that she had some psychological issues to work through.

She was abruptly brought out of her thoughts by the Esel-Man suddenly making a break for it, about darn time if you asked her, and it was also exactly the kind of excuse she had been looking for. Time to teach the rude fish some manners!

”Leave him to me Kaji”

By the time the words came out of her mouth she was already in motion, the Esel-man was quick, quite a bit quicker than she would have given him stock to be based on the ease at which Kaji had dealt with him. Regardless she pushed her metallic legs and body to about their limit, she knew that was far from the potential of her body but right now, so soon after getting out of the tank it was the best she could do.

Being in hot pursuit she caught up with the sprinting Esel-man quickly

”Fahrantrieb...”

Throwing herself into a forward roll she pushed off the ground with her arms in order to get a momentary burst of speed to catch up with her targeting

”Stoss!!!”

launching herself vertically she put her feet straight out, if nothing interrupted her move she would deliver a vry potent kick at Esel-mans back which would hopefully send him flying up in the air where she could move in with her next move more easily

tech

A memory flash reminded her of what her teachers had told her about this particular move, it had originally been designed to kick vastly larger opponents right under the chin and break their jaws or necks, but had since been adapted to simply launching foes up in the air.

Talos was extremely confused to say the least. Of course he was generally confused by things that seemed to happen around him lately. Everything seemed to happen suddenly with no build up or explanation. Still though the fishman had ran for some reason and it appeared there was a trap of some sort. He raced after the bastard as did the fake woman. She was a bit faster than him unfortunately so she caught up to him just before Talos could. Luckily her attack set him up perfectly, catching the man under the chin with enough force behind that kick to send him flying up into the air. Talos assumed at least that this was intentional and ran forward before jumping in the air and pulling back his fist. Punching out with force he yelled out "Tiger punch!" as his fist struck the man squarely in the chest before sending him flying back down to the ground crashing where dust billowed up from the impact site. Falling to the ground on his feet Talos turned to Tamir "Alright so what was this all about? Any idea?" Kicking the man he'd just punched the hell out he hoped to wake him up for interrogation. "Hey you. Start answering shit."

Kaji watched with a wry grin as Tamir took off to exercise some of her frustrations on the merman. As much as he enjoyed having the chance to test himself, Esel-man wasn't much of a challenge. He wasn't at all up to par with Kaji's expectations of pirates in the Grand Line, especially fishmen. He watched with joy as Tamir performed a rather flashy tumble and upwards kick that caught the merman just as he stopped and turned around, resulting it it striking him right in the jaw. He was sent flying upwards, and much to Kaji's surprise and additional amusement, Talos followed up by striking the merman in the chest as he fell from the air.

"Jeez guys, tone it down a notch!" Kaji said while trying to stifle laughter.

The man wearing green did not notice the commotion until the store owner he was speaking to began staring at the ordeal. He started walking forward, showing no visible signs of tension or anger. His eyes were hidden behind his reflecting sunglasses, but he seemed to be walking towards Talos.

"Hey, you." He said as he came to a stop, his hands folded in front of him. "I'm gunna have to ask you to stop kicking around my crewmate." His hand slid up his side, revealing a handgun resting in a holster. He rested his hand on it, but his demeanor didn't change, he remained relaxed, his tone as casual as it had been speaking to the store owner.

"Are you the captain?" Kaji said as he approached from behind Talos and Tamir.

"I'm what you'd call the quartermaster, but how about I go get our boss for you and we can discuss why you've been tossing around my friend?"

"This guy is your friend?" Kaji raised an eyebrow. "I can understand getting stuck with this guy, but I gotta say, on the way here we passed barracudas with better social skills."

The man in green looked down at Esel-man, who was pretending to be unconscious. "Let's just say we've been through a lot."

His free hand went into his jacket and retrieved a baby den den mushi. Kaji stood with his arms folded while the snail phone rang, and a loud, energetic sounding voice came through.

"Talk to me, baby." The caller said with a smile.

"We've got a situation. I found Minya, he brought company."

The snail raised an eyebrow, somehow, but didn't break it's smile. "Is that right? Well I'll be right over with the tea and biscuits!"

It was strangely satisfying seeing Talos move in smoothly to finish off the Esel-man, Tamir would have to re-evaluate him at some point, perhaps the fishman had some positive qualities after all. Slightly relaxing her mechanical arms she lowered her body and put her feet back on the ground, turning to face Talos she replied to his question

”Noooooo idea, Esel-man just tried to leg it for some reason”

Getting the chance to give the squid a solid kick had put Tamir back in a somewhat good mood, perhaps they should keep the squid around as a punching bag to relive stress or something.

The Androids attention was drawn to the person Esel-man had tried to run to, a quartermaster from his own words. Lightly poking Esel-man with her foot to see if he was still alive, he was and didn't even seem to be truly unconscious based on the twitch that went through his body at her poke.

”If you're bringing edible things get me some lamp oil”

Tamir spoke up loudly enough to hopefully let the person on the other side of the den den hear as well, it was mostly a joke, she probably wouldn't drink anything brought by strange people, who knew if they got some other liquid that would mess with her systems.

Turning to Kaji and Talos she explained her words in a more civil tone

”It's what I run on, any oil will work but the purer it is the better”

"Lamp oil?" Talos asked of no one in particular, very stunned by Tamir's request for something edible. That was one of the least tasty things he could imagine. Women really were weird sometimes. Luckily she was quick to inform him of what exactly she needed the lamp oil for. It was like a fuel source for her mechanical parts, which did make sense. "I'll have meat and a barrel of whiskey." Talos requested. Of course he couldn't drink all that but he figured having a large supply of liquid would be useful in case another fight were to break out which he was kinda hoping for. Beating that weakling around like a rag doll with Tamir had proven to be quite the crew bonding experience. They should definitely beat up more and stronger people together.

As intrigued by the idea of an advanced android like Tamir running on something as simple as lamp oil as Kaji was, he was feeling a bit hungry himself, and the talk of eating wasn't making it any better. Before he could think up an order of his own, however, the speaker confirmed something Kaji had been suspecting.

"I was being sarcastic, dipshits! Why the hell would I bring you food?" The den den shouted. "Honestly, it's shit like this that makes me not feel bad about beating peoples faces in with a wrench. People are idiots!"

Kaji took in a breath and exhaled slowly through his nose. This wasn't setting up to be a civil transaction between pirate crews, but based on their interactions with Esel-man so far a more level headed captain would have been surprising.

"Hey, now, you didn't even hear my request yet." Kaji began walking forward, causing the man in the green suit to tense up.

"Oh, how rude of me, I didn't realize we had a full set of three stooges. Which one are you?"

"The captain." Kaji replied, still advancing. "I'm not hungry, but I'd appreciate it if you could escort the young lady you picked up on Salt Island along with you."

There was a tense silence as the smile on the denden slowly returned. "Lady? I got no idea what you're talking about pal. We didn't pick anybody up."

"Let's not play the pronoun game, Razorback. Can I call you Razorback?"

"No."

"Great. I'd suggest you bring her with you, and quick. I escorted someone here who's just dying to catch up with her old friend, and if that certain someone felt like they needed to go through you to get to Anna, let's just say you'll need staples to hold together what's left of you."

The person on the other end looked angry for a moment, but then an eyebrow raised. "Wait, K.D., did they bring the second android?"

"Yeah, they did." The man in the green suit responded.

"Ha-haaa! Hot damn! Well why didn't you say so? Maybe I should bring that whisky after all, I feel like celebrating! You guys don't know how much hot water you just got me out of! Don't you worry, fembot, you'll be matched up with the other wind-up doll in no time! In the meantime though... K.D., why don't you ensure the tin twins get some alone time?"

"With pleasure." K.D. responded, finally drawing the pistol from it's holster and bringing it to eye-level with Kaji in a swift motion.

This time, it was Kaji's smile that faded. "That was a bad idea."

"Bold statement made from the business end of a revolver." K.D. motioned for Kaji to back up, the movement instead caused Kaji to instinctively move forward. As he did, K.D. pulled the trigger of his weapon and watched a single bullet pass through Kaji's head. It only took him a split second to realize something was wrong as he saw neither splattering blood nor a reaction from his target, and he felt a presence beside him.

"How about this end?" Kaji said from beside K.D., who turned to strike Kaji with his pistol. Kaji grabbed K.D.'s arm and tightened his grip, causing him to grit his teeth and struggle, unable to break free from Kaji's grasp.

"What the hell?" The shocked gunman shouted.

"You're way too slow to be pointing a gun at me. Hasn't anyone ever told you it's dangerous to threaten a pirate?"

All around, people had scattered in response to the sound of gunfire, ducking into houses and stores as windows and doors slammed shut. The streets soon grew quiet, aside from the tramping sound of a crowd's worth of footsteps headed this way.

"Well that box was very rude." Talos couldn't help but comment. He'd been looking forward to his meet and drink lunch. Turns out though the box had been lying to him. He wanted to beat the box in but it was the only communication device Kaji had with the speaker so that seemed like a poor idea. As the two further conversed more things became revealed to the tigershark man and he felt his hands clench into fists in anger. For some reason the term "fem-bot" really bothered him. He could mess with the tinker toy but only him. No one else was allowed to insult her or it... whatever it was.

It didn't take long for things to get out of hand and all around frightening however as a gun was drawn toward Kaji's head. While Kaji didn't seem perturbed at all, Talos was very much unerved as he had no idea how Kaji would be able to avoid a shot at that close range. Talos's whole body tensed up as the bullet passed through his captain's head and he lunged forward teeth open and ready to chomp down on the idiot's throat. The idiot turned around however as it became clear Kaji had moved behind the man, lightnening fast. It seemed killing the idiot was no longer necessary as Kaji had it under control but still he wanted to put some pressure on the man. Grabbing the man's other hand before it could swing around to strike Kaji Talos's used his own superhuman, fishman strength to apply pressure and he could feel the slow cracking of the man's bones letting out an agonizing groan. "I suggest you start answering if you want to keep your arm attached."

Through clenched teeth, K.D. responded. "Fine, we got hired to find and bring in the two androids, only ended up with one, and now the other one's shown up."

"Where's Anna right now?" Kaji asked in a firm tone. "I swear to God if you're stalling while she's being relocated, I'm going to find your friends and twist you all into a multi-man daisy chain."

"Captain Gage has been waiting at the meetup point for the buyer since we arrived on this island. I have no idea if they've shown up yet."

Kaji exhaled slowly through his nose. "Talos, hold onto him. Looks like the cavalry has arrived."

From around the corner a small crowd of men came marching, mostly dressed in black and silver. Looking like the sort of group that put a lot of effort into looking tough, they wore leather clothing with chains and came carrying things like baseball bats with nails stuck through them or serrated knives. At the front of the pack was a surprisingly tall individual in a black leather jacket with short black hair and a silver ring going through his left eyebrow. What was so surprising about his height was that while he towered over Kaji, he was still a few inches shorter than Talos. He seemed to notice this as he approached, raising an eyebrow at the fishman before narrowing his gaze on Kaji.

"You the uppity little shit running this little circus, huh?" He said with a smirk.

"I have to say, Razorback, I'm impressed. Not many people are as dedicated to being insufferable as you. Let me guess, mommy wouldn't let you wear black eyeliner so you and your bandmates left to play pirate?"

Razorback himself seemed close to snapping, his eyebrows twisted into a deep, angry scowl, but his crew wasn't far behind him.

"I say we gut this big mouthed little bastard right now!" Spoke up a muscle bound and mohawk sporting man twisting a length of chain in his hands.

"Tch," Kaji raised a hand, as if signaling for him to stop, and suddenly lashed out, slicing through the air with his claws and sending four blades of compressed air shooting past Razorback and into his loudmouthed crewmate. The large man fell backwards, blood spraying from his torn shirt, and he was caught by several men behind him.

"Settle down, sport, grown ups are talking."

Razorback stood with his eyes open wide, not daring to take his eyes off Kaji and his crew. He still looked furious, but there was something else written on his face as well. As his face twitched and he clenches his fists, he looked quite afraid.

"I notice we're missing someone, currently. Mind explaining that?" Kaji said dryly. Razorback's looked off to the side for a second before responding.

"Listen kid, I only got half the cargo I was meant to get already. What makes you think I'm just gunna hand over what I've got left?"

Kaji tilted his head to the side. "Self-preservation I suppose, but honestly? I didn't think you would. I try to give everyone benefit of the doubt, but if you're hiding Anna somewhere, all three of us have reason to play basketball with your bodies until you fess up where you're hiding her."

"Oh yeah? Well there's fifteen of us, and three of you, and in case you haven't noticed-" He reached into his jacket and pulled out a double barrel shotgun, barrel sawn off to make the ends look serrated. "-We've got enough metal and lead to put scatter your loudmouthed asses across the dirt! I'm getting real sick and tired of your shit talking, so how about this? You walk off and leave the second android here, we don't light you up like a bonfire."

Kaji paused for a moment, searching for another witty line to use. He had a few ideas, but decided to save them for later. Instead, he settled on something more simple before beginning to advance on Razorback.

"Nah."

Talos waited obediently as his captain had instructed grabbing the man and spinning him so his arm was pinned behind his back. "If you so move an inch i'm going to break off your arm... and then i'm noming you." "What the hell is a nom?" The gunman who'd assaulted Kaji asked genuinely scared and curious at the same time. "I'm going to snap into you like a Slim Jim if you catch my drift." And that he did. The poor idiot knew all about slim jims, they were one of his favorite snack foods. Talos wasn't really in the mood though to listen to this drivel. He was impatient and hyper and wanted things to be moving and getting done. "Kaji can we just beat these guys until they start talking? Like honestly thats the only way anything ever seems to happen in this whole place. No one gets anything done until someone gets punched in the face. It almost makes you wonder what the world government meetings are like."

"I think that decision's already been made for us, buddy." Kaji said to his anxious crewmate as Razorback and his crew began to surround them.

"Really? What good is surrounding us going to do? You have not succeeded at intimidating us at any point so far, and if you're gunna shoot us, being in a circle only increases the chance you'll hit someone on your own side! Did you guys start being pirates yesterday or something?"

"Shut up!" Razorback shouted as he motioned for his crew to form less of a circle and more of a concave line around Kaji and Talos. "Everybody, on my count, put these fools to sleep. One-"

Kaji didn't wait for the count to finish, bending his knees slightly and pulling his right hand back.

"Two-"

Kaji shot off the ground, jumping straight ahead and descending on Razorback with such frightening speed the rookie pirate seemed to forget he was holding a gun. He crossed his arms to cover his face as Kaji struck him across the side of the head, mid-air, and sent him to the ground. Before Kaji could even fall from the air, an equally remarkable jump was performed by a stranger. Lurking in the shadows, they leapt out from an alleyway and threw a heavy fist into Kaji. Caught off guard, Kaji was hit in the side of the head and sent to the ground. He rolled twice before stopping and grabbing ahold of his head.

"Gahhh! Who the hell punched me, and why is their fist so damn hard?" He said as he looked over at his sudden attacker. Razorback looked at the stranger as well, eyes wide with fear. The stranger himself didn't look all that frightening, aside from being yet another tall individual, though he was still not quite as tall as Talos. He wore a blue button up shirt, stretched almost to the point of breaking from his muscle bound body, a bright red tie, and khaki pants. Between his dress, his slicked back hair, and well polished dress shoes, he didn't look the part for what Kaji expected.

"Did... did I just get hit by an assistant manager with a bodybuilding hobby?"

"Assistant manager?" The stranger replied. "Now you've insulted me."

"And you hurt my face! Are you this guy's boss or something?"

"No "or something" needed, I am indeed their employer. I apologize for striking you, I was actually aiming for that failure of a courier you knocked to the ground just now. But to be fair, I was planning to deal with you shortly after."

"I had this under control!" Razorback interjected. "The other android is right there! I can do this, I can-"

The well dressed man grimaced and turned around, delivering a strong kick to Razorback's jaw that sent him skidding backwards and knocked him swiftly unconscious.

"Now..." he said, turning back to Kaji. "Let's get to business, shall we?"

Talos smiled with child-like glee as someone in a business suit emerged from the shadows and struck Kaji with a fierce blow, sending him crashing down. Someone was strong enough to do that to Kaji which meant that there was someone really damn powerful. That made this trip a whole lot more interesting since Talos's goal was to be the strongest thing in the world. "Nomming time!" He yelled happily as his captive looked up at him frightened by what that could possibly mean. Of course he was a whole lot more frightened to the point of screaming as Talos opened his mouth wide, showing all those large pointed teeth just before closing them down on the man's head. He struggled for awhile, screaming and thrashing to escape Talos's powerful bite but it was to no avail and he eventually just stopped struggling all together.

With Kaji busy distracting the assistant manager razorback would be open for a pounding too and then after that even the manager would be getting a good beating. This was great! There was only one thing he loved more than fighting and that was drinking and eating. Running ahead straight toward the asshole who'd started this all in his mind he pulled back his arm, tightening his webbed fingers into a fist and struck out toward the man's face "Tiger Punch!"
