Character: Eve Senba
Request: I'm wanting to update appearance, personality and combat style to account for all the things she's been through.
Changes: These:
Appearance General Appearance: A skinny, lean, flat-chested young woman with a rebellious, confident glint in her eye and an affinity for customizing whatever uniform she has, purely for the sake of standing out. Eve carries a firearm with her almost everywhere and can usually been seen fiddling or relaxing with them in hand. Though not particularly tall or bulky, she does have some defined muscle. Her body and chest is small in proportion to her legs, making her look far taller than she is when in action and full stride.
Personality Eve Senba is a woman of ambition. She, like so many others, have dreams and desires, but perhaps unlike others who focus on few and mighty goals, hers are many and humble. She has no grand dream to change the world or become the most proficient in her art. Rather, she pursues simpler goals, like standing in a strong breeze after earning a signature Marine coat, her crew by her sides and her rifle upon her shoulder. Or the rush of adrenaline she gets when the hunt comes to a close and she smashes and pins a pirate’s head against the floor, standing triumphantly upon his beaten form. She is a woman of relatively simple and selfish pleasures, a trait that affords her an often laidback, carefree attitude when on standby and an overwhelming glee when in the heat of battle.
She is not malicious or sadistic, even if she does take great pleasure in fighting. Nothing but the most intense, important conflicts will wipe the smirk from her face –or the vilest of individuals. While she often tries to avoid preaching and telling others how to think and live their lives, she does not appreciate the company of the fanatical or pointlessly cruel. This extends to her fellow Marines and she will have little hesitation in picking fights amongst the more corrupt individuals of her unit. She has no real love for pirates, but often sees the fighting between her and them as merely conflict of careers, rather than an act of “Justice” on her part, not to say that she has no views on Justice at all. She follows a mixed creed of Moral Justice and her own “Hunter’s Justice”, a line of thinking that encourages action against large, significant targets (or “game”) while putting little value or worry around lesser prey.
Combat Combat: In battle, Eve primarily uses firearms in both ranged and melee confrontations. She carries a flintlock rifle everywhere she goes and will always try to have it fitted with a bladed bayonet, even if just a simple knife, allowing it to be used in close-quarters when the situation calls. As a former hunter by trade, Eve prefers to pick priority targets and take them down as efficiently as possible from afar, but years spent in the wilds have taught her that plans rarely go without a hitch, and should her initial strike fail, she is more than happy to give manual pursuit and rundown her foes.
are to be updated to these:
Updated appearance General Appearance: A skinny, lean, flat-chested young woman with a rebellious, confident glint in her eye. Eve stands at a fairly average height and is not particularly bulky either but she does have some defined muscle in her arms and chest. Her torso, meanwhile, is a little short in proportion to her legs. Her hair is predominantly black, except for some electric-blue tips that hang in a fringe just above the eyes. Though normally kept relatively short, Eve has recently begun growing a tightly woven braid that reaches to the base of her neck. Naturally, she is capable of a full range of expressions but her 'default' look is a very slight grin. Her face is a bit rough with sharp cheekbones, a fairly pronounced jaw for her gender and a collection of very minor scars. Green eyes are set in slender, thin sockets under thick brows. Rarely does she wear makeup but on the few situations that warrant it, a little mascara to compliment her eyes usually does the trick.
Updated personality A long time ago, when Eve was still a fresh-faced Marine who had barely set foot in the world's oceans, she could perhaps be viewed as someone with a somewhat dull future. She was laidback and ambitionless, caring only for the little comforts so many other laymen worked for. The life of an enlisted soldier of the World Government was largely just an excuse to travel around at someone else's expense and on someone else's boat, while getting booze money for her efforts. There had always been an element of danger throughout Eve's upbringing and she continued to embrace it as freely and as carelessly upon becoming an adult. She was neither malicious nor resentful; the people, and sometimes animals, she faced were simply those who had walked a different path and though she would follow her orders and fight, rarely would she ever hold a grudge or actively dislike someone that entered the sights of her rifle. Fun, adventure and alcohol were the names of the game back then and the only thing to hold her back was fleeting moments of self-doubt in her own capabilities.
Time and experience have a habit of changing people, however. Starting perhaps in Goa, during a pirate invasion, a small seed of patriotism was planted in Eve's being, a seed that has started to grow ever so slowly while drinking the waters of the Grandline. Increasingly Eve looks up to Marine HQ, the World Government and the Gorosei not just as employers and the means to her next paycheck, but as the rightful rulers of the world, both physically and ideologically. Pirates - once largely nothing more than men and women simply seeking freedom and adventure - have had their tainted in her mind as she fights increasing numbers of them. The word 'Justice' resonates with Eve and with every new challenge she overcomes and with every new rank and scrabbles to attain, she wears that coat with a little more pride.
With this blooming sense of duty however, has come the crushing weight of responsibility. Eve biggest fault outside her vices is her own self-doubt and insecurity. Though she had always had to occasionally wrestle with demons whispering torments in her ears, since being promoted and, more noticeably, since finding and consuming the Goro Goro no Mi, a Logia-type Devil Fruit rumored to be among the most powerful in the world, Eve has hit an all time low in her own esteem. Unsure as to whether she has the skill to properly serve, to wield such great power, and if she has the strength of will to avoid letting that power turn her into the monster that the ignorant view her as, Eve psyche is more vulnerable than it ever has been.
Updated combat Combat: In battle, Eve primarily uses firearms in both ranged and melee confrontations. She carries a flintlock rifle everywhere she goes and will always try to have it fitted with a bladed bayonet, allowing it to be used in close-quarters when the situation calls. As a former hunter by trade, Eve prefers to pick priority targets and take them down as efficiently as possible from afar, but years spent in the wilds have taught her that plans rarely go without a hitch, and should her initial strike fail, she is more than happy to give manual pursuit and rundown her foes.
Since acquiring the powers of the Goro Goro no Mi, Eve has mixed up her strategies to try and incorporate her new supernatural abilities. By moving at the speed of light, she is far more capable at creating or closing the distance between foes and can be a little more picky with her targets. This combined with the intangibility her fruit grants her allows Eve to take far more risks than would normally be feasible. To top it off, Eve is far more likely to try and simply fry and opponent with bolts of lightning first before resorting to her gun and wasting bullets if it can be helped.
