This guy, he was nuts. This wasn’t a man who had been ravaged by being plunged into the life of a gladiator, it was a man who had been built for it from birth and through some twist of circumstance allowed to flourish under new circumstance. Kazuki’s barrage of blows were weathered well, absorbing the brunt of those he did not evade before sending him stumbling backwards with a sharp head butt, taking advantage of the stunned moment the marine had to endure to whip up a wave of cleaving shockwaves toward him, and for that matter robin who had charged in to join along side. Kazuki’s body threw backward into a series of handsprings, widening the gap between them before he sloppily hacked at what shockwaves he could, his lack of skill with a sword meaning that his flesh tore as cuts ripped themselves into him, able only to avoid a hit to the vitals. Tch, it fucking stung, not just the injuries themselves but the mockery of being toyed with by this guy, kazuki had never been much of a prideful man, when you spent most your life standing for almost nothing it was hard to foster such an emotion. But he was putting his all into helping as many people as he could and here standing in his way was some freaking monster, and not only that but he was a marine as well, they should be stood on the same side not clashing like this. When he finally got his hands on that pirate, he was going to be sure to beat some damned remorse into him. But it wasn’t as though they had nearly enough time for him to be thinking of such fantastical things now. Robin used the rokushiki technique with which he was so adept to fling a shockwave toward the marine powerhouse who simply seemed to get sent skidding backward till he’d ground his feet into the ground enough to slow to a halt before shattering the compressed wind projectile to pieces. Light cuts appeared on his hands but that was all that told tale of his enduring the blow. However upon closing the gap the Mzoan user was swiftly put down with the pommel of the man’s sword, air starved gasps and wheezes making their way up from the ground where he landed with a heavy thud. That was not good, not good at all, yet upon calling out sergei the only one to have avoided the midst of the melee thus far the man showed he had no intention of going down without a fight. A spray of shotgun shells peppered the gladiator whose skillful sword work kept most of them from hitting him and those that did found little purchase in the thick wall of muscle that adorned his frame. But It did however provide the perfect distraction. As the wall of buckshot peppered the warrior kazuki readied himself, his stance sliding into place once more as his arms flowed through graceful movements into postion ”Butterfly Kenpo: Shimmering Step into…” in an instance he was gone, his body flickering from view before appearing once more before the towering gannicus just as the shooting ceased, where from the stong stance he slammed fierce punch into the man’s gut ”Fist of the white dragontail!!” it was enough to cause him to falter and stumble, enough to drive the air from his lungs and leave him wheezing, but most importantly enough to open a window for the other too. For kazuki however it was too much, he felt his head go light and dizzied, the world around him begin to swim and spin. He stumbled once, twice, arm reaching out for something that would steady him before collapsing to his knee’s against the arena wall. This damnable seastone, if he tried exerting anything beyond his basic abilities he found himself barely able to cope. Stripped of his devil fruit powers, a man who prided himself on his endurance was being stripped of it, it was looking as though for him at least the situation was rapidly worsening. |

ooc: Yeah you can expect this level of speed from me for like a year. Sorry guys :( Robin wasn't very good at taking hits without at first preparing himself with a tekkai at minimum so that clean pommel strike to his gut had taken the wind out of him and left him lying on the ground struggling for breath as he grasped his stomach. luckily Gannicus the champion hadn't decided to finish him off. Instead he boasted about the honor of the arena and how none of them seemed worthy to fight him. Clearly this man had gone insane from his time in here and had developed fondness for his captors. If only there was a medical diagnosis for such a thing that he could label him with since this was very much abnormal thinking to suddenly want to fight for the people who had enslaved you and your friends while killing the others. Kazuki was still fighting hard however and managed to deliver a critical punch to the man's gut while Robin still struggled to get back to his feet. The blow had staggered the man and knocked him off balance, opening up his guard. Robin using up pretty much all his energy at this point rushed ahead, toward Kazuki stepping onto the man's back and using him like a ramp to kick off to push himself closer to Gannicus. Tightening up his leg he put all the strength he could muster into his right leg and swung it around brutally hard. Strangely as he swung it around a weird look appeared on Gannicus's face. Robin would have assumed it was surprise but it looked much more different than that, almost as if he'd woken up from a dream and was shocked to find out where he was. It was too late however for whatever had caused that expression as Robin's rankyaku struck home slicing a deep line that bled red across the champion's chest from the left shoulder to the right hip. Grunting heavily Gannicus took several steps as Robin collapsed to the ground his body heaving up and down as he breathed heavily. He really wasn't made for long fights or getting hit much and this seastone was making that much worse as one simple blow had taken out most of what energy and life force he had in him. He wasn't going to go down however without at least resisting and Kazuki seemed as bad off as him at the moment. |

A hint of both awe and trepidation crept into Sergei's soul as he watched the Gannicus either block the shotgun pellets with his impressive sword mastery or simply shrugging off any that managed to hit him. And he was coming closer and closer with each passing moment. Truth be told, a hint of fear crept in as well. After all, what could he possibly do against a monster like that? The Marine had already resigned himself to using his powers to mitigate whatever attack his opponent might throw at him, but it was becoming clearer and clearer that this man must have possessed some way of fighting devil fruits. After all, anyone that level would have faced a multitude of devil fruits users and would have developed some way of combating them. As such, it was doubtful that even using his logia body would help against whatever attack would surely come. Only two shells remaining and it did not look like Gannicus was any closer to stopping. One shell. There was a clicking noise as the doctor desperately pulled the trigger a few more times before dropping the gun and drawing his sword in what he suspected would be a pointless attempt to intercept the incoming attack. Fortunately, Kazuki came to the rescue, appearing suddenly in front of their opponent and launching a powerful attack. Soon after Robin followed suit, using Kazuki's back as a launching platform to spring into the air and send out a cutting shockwave from his legs, both attacks hitting their target and staggering him. Feeling the need to help, for some unknown reason, the marksman dashed forward, though not as fast as Kazuk, leveling his sword as he reached Gannicus before raising it moments from impact and running the man through to the hilt. A smile spread across Sergei's face before it was knocked clean off as Gannicus backhanded him across the face, sending him flying through the air. Unfortunately, in the process of being bitchslapped, the Marine let go of his sword, leaving it embedded in his opponent's chest. |

”BLAWK!” kazuki’s coughed splutter of surprise, eyes bursting wide as he felt a bood step on his back before kicking off it like some sort of spring board. Just what the hell was that guy doing to his downed team mates, he was sitting here suffering aftermath and now he was a footstool to boot. But if nothing else it was at least worth while, gannicus still recovering himself unprepared for the slicing shockwave that followed a thick vein of crimson opening up across his chest. The man winced as he clutched the wound, pain obviously present but his desire to fight to the last dwindling not even a millimeter. The crowd roared, blood sport was what they came for and here they were able to see it in droves, not to mention the reigning champion receiving some worthwhile competition, having come in expecting to see a wash out it was a pleasant surprise. But he was not yet done for. The vicious glare that had stirred fear into the hearts of so many men, be they pirate or otherwise locked on to sergei as he thrust the blade into his chest. Thick rippling muscles tensing his intention to take the attack head on made obvious. Despite the illogical nature of what he saw kazuki could only think the feat further testament to why this man was such an asset to the marines, as he clenched the blade through sheer muscle power, allowing no more than a portion to pierce him, before smacking the logia back with a vicious backhand. He was a terrifying combatant, especially when it came to close quarters combat, and with their devil fruit powers sealed that was all that was available. Drawing slowly too his feet kazuki steadied himself once more, forcing stamina from reserves he didn’t even know he had, and probably didn’t as it was going to come at a cost. The screams of the crowd sounded hollow in his ear, like the sea heard through a shell. Louder than that was the sound of his own thunderous heart beat, pounding up a storm in his ears, telling tale of the strain he was placing on himself by forcing his body to continue. But it wasn’t as though there were any other options available, this was their situation live or die, and if he wanted to create a third possibility where they took this guy back with them, he was going to have to do things he’d previously thought impossible. Slowly the ex marine drew the blade from himself, look as though he were savoring every sensation that came along with it. He was built for blood shed, reveled in the experience of it, no longer a man but an entity of violence and they were the only thing in it’s sights. Kazuki had given it his best, and the man was still standing, already his options were rapidly dwindling, and he didn’t have the stamina to let it continue on in such a fashion. It was a little desperate, but as far as he could see there was only one option left available to him. Every step was an effort, a constant tug of war between his brains demands and his muscles dissent, yet he forged ahead unwilling to listen to biological complaints or warnings. Stood no more than 3 paces from the man, the wall of raw power splayed both arms before bringing them in to scissor kazuki between the two swords, while the commander could do nothing but raise gauntleted arms to bear the brunt of the blow. It was like being hit by a truck from both sides, added to the fact that these shoddy imitations were nothing like the weapons he usually clad his fists in, they felt shoddy and flimsy as though they might break beneath the overbearing power any moment. But bear it he did, even when muscle fibers screamed and bones walked the tenuous border line of fracture till with a feat of herculean will power he forced them off him, opening the man’s guard and taking full advantage of exploiting it swinging a heavy punch into his chin, a punch that sent tremors shaking through his body. As the two blades clattered to the ground kazuki was almost able to smile, had his battered body been capable of it at that point, but an already beaten man was pummeled further as a blow was returned likewise, struck so hard he felt his jaw might be torn from his face. This was all he could offer them, dragging the man into a blow for blow dogfight. It was going to be painful, it was going to be bloody, but it was the best distraction he could provide. Hopefully they would do the rest in subduing him with as little injury as possible. Each blow traded had the marine feeling as though his shaking legs might give way beneath him, the very ground beneath his feet becoming that much less stable with every strike. This guy was a juggernaut there was no doubt, his fists held experience and arduous training, but just as they were heavy they also were empty, no longer did he know what he was fighting for. By comparison kazuki’s fists though they held only the experience of a novice fresh to the life, they were back by an immeasurable weight of responsibility, he was going to get them out of here, and he was taking this bastard back with him, because that was his job and because that was the kind of man he had worked this long to be! |

Gannicus was shocked that he could be matched... no beaten! Yes, that was what was happening he was being beaten by these marines. Well it was mostly Kazuki but the others had helped as well though to a much smaller extent. He now wondered why he was even fighting here really it felt like it'd been forever since he'd came here. He'd been a marine just like them, captured and thrown into the pits. The arena had become his identity and the only place he was given any sense of achievement or worth. It was sad that he'd come to think of this place as his home. Even sadder that he'd thought it was honorable to fight like a slave as entertainment for the people who cared nothing for him. Dropping to his knees as he could barely continue fighting anyway Gannicus slammed the blade of his gladius down into the earth. "I submit. You are the greater of us commander Kazuki. I am not worthy of it but would you spare my life." Pausing briefly, Ganicus breathed in the air as a chorus of boos, hisses, and even rocks and rotten fruit was thrown his way. "I lost my way. But you helped me find it again. It was a road I wish not to travel again. Allow me to assist you in any way I can while you are here." Robin feeling much better about their situation now stood up and smiled putting his hand on the gladiator's shoulder. "It's not a problem." Smiling wearily as his stamina really couldn't take much more despite him trying to put on a calm face. "Honestly we've all done dumb shit. I'm sure Kazuki here won't hold anything against you. He's even nicer than me." Looking up Robin saw just in time that a large rock was heading toward his head and twisted it to avoid the incoming hit. "It looks like we aren't even really welcome here so we were thinking about busting out. If there was any way you could help us with that. Perhaps by getting these seastone handcuffs off of us that'd help a whole lot in the whole escape process." Gannicus nodded as he stood up to his full height. "I certainly can help your group. I don't know if i'll be able to join you three however afterwards. I've done many horrible things while here in order to survive, i've killed innocent people and even marines in order to keep living. I don't know even if the marines did forgive my actions if I could forgive myself. The faces of my entire platoon whom I murdered, many who served under me for years and whom I had eaten with their families, will remain with me." |

Damn, what the hell was that? It was like he was hit by a train. Sergei suspected that Gannicus had a way of dealing with devil fruits, but having it used on him was something else. He had certainly experienced the sudden lack of invincibility thanks to being hit by the seastone sword back on Boin but seeing as how this was the second time that he had to experience this, it was still somewhat of a surprise. Perhaps he was getting too used on relying on his powers to dodge attacks. He was certain that if he continued this way, it would be his downfall. The only positive that came out of this was that his ability was still a secret from the pirates, not that he was sure right now if he should keep keeping it secret. But for now, he was left without a sword, which was still stuck inside the ex-Marine's chest, and with an empty shotgun. Not exactly the most appealing of circumstances given his opponent. At the very least he would be able to use the shotgun to block a couple of attacks before it was completely broken to pieces. He should really consider getting a new weapon. Fortunately, he did not have to worry about it for now, with Kazuki leaping into the fight against Gannicus, though it did not look like he was doing do well, barely able to hold on and clearly using this as an opportunity to divert their opponent's attention enough for the other two remaining people in the arena to deliver a finishing blow. And then out of nowhere, as if by the grace of some god, Gannicus fell to his knees, professing defeat, even though Kazuki was clearly outmatched just moments before. Was this a trick, to lure them into a false sense of security? That was very likely indeed, put on a show for the crowd and all that. Unfortunately, it seemed that Robin was taken in with the show of defeat. And it seemed that this was an impromptu thing as well, given the amount of refuse that was being thrown at them, but that meant little if Gannicus wanted this to be a surprise. Pirates always loved a good show. Unlike Robin, the marksman did not trust their opponent at the slightest, even after the man stood up and offered his help in getting them out of here. Hopefully Kazuki would not trust him either. |

”Huh?” Kazuki falling to his knees as adrenaline dissipated from his system letting fatigue take over, eyes wide with surprise while his mind was left wrought by confusion. What the hell was that? What was happening here. They had been fighting, fighting viciously and now it was over? Just like that? So easy peasy? He couldn’t believe it, couldn’t understand it. He hadn’t even gotten to the bit where he gave his whole spiel about how they could do so much good working along side one another but would be useless when clashing heads. Could it be this was what they spoke of when they said “communicating through your fists?” the idea that his feelings had been transmitted to the man through his punches, it seemed incomprehensible and yet here they were. He sounded repentant, and in all honesty kazuki was just glad not to have to fight him any longer, those fists that struck like falling boulders, he wasn’t too sure how much more punishment he could take. Unfortunately the distinct downside to talking about escape plans and rebellion in the middle of an arena where you’re the sole focus of everyone around you, is that it’s inherently one of the least private scenario’s that you could ever play out. Unfortunately kazuki didn’t get to warn anyone of this, hell the marine could barely say his own name, it was a struggle just drawing breath. ”Busting out?” this voice cut through the rest, silenced the growing boo’s of a disappointed crowd who’s appetite for blood was not yet quenched. The one man who stood above all others here in both the figurative and literal sense. He didn’t even seem concerned by the idea as much as amused ”Do you think yourselves the first to try such things, or that im so incredibly incapable that this little rag tag group would be the one to pull it off. You forget your place you ungrateful fucking worms, you should be licking my boots in gratitude you’re still alive” As anger filled his expression that same invisible weight came crashing down on them once more, kazuki who’s was already weary from their fight and crippled by the seastone shackles could barely hold on to his consciousness, ebbing darkness clouding the edges of his vision. He couldn’t let it take him, couldn’t let go here, now was not the time to fall into the black. He needed something, anything that would let him hold one, even one minute, one second longer. The sands were dyed red and blood gushed from his mouth, a flash of inspiration met with action, biting hard enough to put his teeth through his lip, the pain of it keeping a drained body mobile, even if he had been reduced to his hands and knee’s. ”Better, much better, I very much prefer this look on you” crows reveling in how own dominion ”I understand what you have been shown here tonight has been unsatisfactory ladies and gentleman, and for that I can only apologize, but fear not abel crows is a man who takes to his duties as dominus with heart felt devotion. I will give you a spectacle like no other. Tonight for your pleasure, these 4 men who believe themselves comrades will tear one another apart till only one remains standing. Take these whelps away!” With that their role in this show was for now at it’s end, sentries poured in from the gated doorways to surround them, spears leveled before herding them back the way they came. The prison master was there to greet them dragging kazuki roughly by the hair, while he cried in pain desperately trying to fight his way free as best his weak limbs would let him, taken to their cell before getting tossed in, shoving the others after him. He wasted no time berating their efforts, the number of connotations he had on hand for “fucking idiots” was almost applaudable had he not simply been lording the fact that their attempt at an uprising was worthless and doomed. But as he slammed the door behind them stomping away while rubbing his gluttonous belly, thoughts of food and women on the brain, kazuki could only smile weakly as much to himself as anyone else, because for the first time since this had begun here he felt like they might just be a step ahead. ”Sooo uhhh, how bout we get rid of those cuffs. Anybody fancy getting out of here?” grinning as he held up the ring of keys he’d managed to swip amid the theatrics. He couldn’t say his pick pocketing skills or in fact any of the assassination skills he had begun to delve into, his ultimate goal to end fights as swiftly in as sterile a manner as possible, but it was still enough at least to get past the attentions of a fat slob more interested in his own jabbering than anything else. Unlocking his cuffs he felt a rush of vitality flood back to him, before handing them over to robin who could distribute them to any others that needed them. ”Once we get out of here free the prisoners and then get as far away from here as you can, I’ll need you to draw his men away and keep yourself out of the range of that messed up ability. I’ll take on crows, I can’t stand the kind of bastard who would use people like this for their own sick twisted games.” in all honesty the thought of fighting that man with his strange sorcery was spine chilling, it’d be like trying to fend off a shark while swimming through syrup, but now wasn’t the time to be worrying about things like that, that wasn’t his role as commander. He had responsibilities to live up to. |

Robin fell to his knees from the weight of Crow's power. It was unimaginable really to think someone had an ability like this. It was something that was worthy of a king perhaps. Robin however luckily wasn't completely taken off guard like he had been last time and that bought him a couple seconds of resistance before collapsing facedown to the ground unconscious before being dragged back to his cell. Waking up Robin found himself facing a much happier than normal Kazuki whom was holding a set of keys in his hand. Groggily he rubbed his head to make sure in his hazy confusion he'd heard the man correctly. "So those are the keys huh?" He asked catching the keys in mid-air after almost dropping them once Kazuki had given them to him. Sticking them into the holes it felt so good to feel that sweet release and flood of energy rush inside him. The sound of his cuffs hitting the ground was like the sound of sweet freedom and he all too greatly understood now why pirates always ran and prison breaks were inspirational. Being locked up like a dog was not good for anyone, people were born to be free. "Alright Kazuki. Do you think you can handle him? I'll take sergay with me I suppose since he was also extremely vulnerable to it. We can probably keep the some of the others off your back and improvise beyond that.... I'll come up with something." He said to Kazuki walking over to the other prisoners and freeing them as well including sergei. "Come me if you want to live." Robin said in the most macho voice he could muster up, puffing up his chest and deepening his voice. In the end it came off as a pretty sad attempt to be cool though and he abandoned it with sadness. His attempt at being cool and inspiring was met by an ureceptive audience who didn't seem moved or really convinced. Many seemed even likely to turn on them given their expressions since they were clearly fearful about any attempt to leave."When we get up there, we won't have just Crows to deal with but all the pirate captains and everyone else up there as well who profit from this gambling pit. This is going to be difficult. It'll be even more difficult since we can't allow any of them to escape at any cost as they'll simply rebuild this place again at another location if they managed to escape." He said to Kazuki ignoring them for now before turning back. "Listen though. You all like Gannicus here have done things. Probably stuff you weren't proud of in order to survive down here. Don't let this place defeat you. Remember all the hard work and training you put into being marines. If those years of hell didn't make men out of you then maybe you are just dogs ready to be locked away. But I'm not and I don't believe any of you are either. We need each and every one of you as our comrades if we are going to make it out of here. We can do this if we work together we can radio in for support back on our ship and get everyone out of here as soon as we escape. I choose not to die a prisoner i'm going to at least try and be a man." Finished talking finally as he'd run out of motivational crap to say, a few of the prisoners stood up and saluted him soon more and more though many seemed only willing to follow along simply due to it was the popular idea at the moment. Robin shrugged inside though on the outside he tried to seem heroic and stoic, honestly he hadn't even expected to convince a few of them so the fact that he had which had led to the others being more open to the idea was a win in his book. Not everyone could be as naturally good at getting people on their side as kazuki. Finally having the freedom to transform, Robin unlocked the cell they'd been kept in and stepped out. "Tonight we take back justice." Running forward up the spiraling stairway they'd been transported originally down from the surface Robin came running out with a mass of freed marines behind him. Sergei watched carefully as Kazuki appeared to buy the tripe that Gannicus was selling. That was unfortunate since the Marine hoped that someone other than himself would be the voice of reason. Apparently that would not be the case. It did not take long for the host to announce himself, going on and on about something that the inventor really did not care much about, not that he actually heard what the host was saying, based on the faces around him, it was nothing life changing for now. What he did care was the sudden pressure that enveloped his body, the same type of pressure that he had experienced a couple of hours before that led him to end up in this situation. As he fell to the ground, the doctor wondered what the host would decide to do with them. It was doubtful that they would kill an unconscious person since he doubted that there would be no fun in that. No, they would wait until he was awake before doing whatever it was that they would decide. Before his mind could come up with a variety of places he could end up upon waking up, there was blackness. The marksman was not entirely sure how long he had been out but he certainly did not expect to find himself back in the cells. Perhaps the host has yet to figure out what to do with them, though that was rather doubtful. Sergei stumbled to his feet as he watched Kazuki and Robin talk about their plans of escape, unlocking his cuffs in the process. Personally, the Marine had no intention of following the others. He was here for one thing and one thing only. McTugBoat. And he would not let him slip through his fingers one more time. The chase would end on this island, whether with the pirate's death or his own. As such, the inventor patiently waited until Robin opened the cell, not wanting to seem eager himself, and leave the cell with the other prisoners. Waiting until the others left, the doctor followed closely behind though that did not last for long as he split off from the group to search for the armoury. He really needed to get his weapons back. While he could probably survive without them, the chances of survival drastically went up if he had them. Plus he really did not want to leave his stuff here at all. |

Rumbling murmurs gathered around him as more and more cuffs were released, placed gently to the ground so as not to draw attention from the guards, it seemed the general consensus was that while many were angry about their treatment here there were far less willing to throw their lot in fighting against crows to overturn this messed up regime, many of their number were pirates and bounty hunters who knew nothing other than looking out for themselves and had no inclination to change that now. They would fight as far as getting their freedom was concerned but that was it. It was no matter, Kazuki hadn’t counted on the help of anyone other than robin when coming here initially, anything else was simply an added bonus, he did not want to be the kind of cold calculating man who used people as necessary and yet he had to. He had learned all too well the cost of betrayal, creating plans by banking on those he couldn’t trust was foolish, in which case he’d simply have to keep it simple and shoulder the toll such a choice would take on him. He really was in the lynch pin position here. ”I’ll meet back up with you at their ships, if you rendezvous with the rest of our men who should be in the process of securing them and ensure their success we’ll cut them off at the legs.” with that robin roused the rest with his words, garnering an unexpected level of response from them. It seemed their anger towards crows insult still glowed like embers, as long as he properly fanned the flames they might just be able to amass a functioning fighting force, which was fortunate because they were going to need all the help they could get. Upon stepping out into the open they prepared to split off, kazuki scratching his head in discomfort at the cliché send off. He’d never been much good with that sort of thing, acting the overly dramatic roles, it made him very much uncomfortable but he was also the type of man to indulge others so he smiled and nodded his agreement. It did not take long for someone to notice the large mass of bodies attempting their escape, their less than subtle sounds of escape very much conspicuous, enough in fact that it prompted some one somewhere to raise the alarm, shouts and hollers of their misbehavior echoing through the dank dungeons. ”I’ll hold them off from this end, and give you what head start I can. Make sure to keep yourself safe!” his smile as warm as ever with the final farewell, his utmost priority entirely unchanging no matter the situation. Bodies swarmed towards him and as they did so he placed one hand on his shoulder, rolling it to work out the kinks. That sea stone, it really was some dangerous stuff, between that and the blast of disorientation he’d been left incredibly stiff. It was about time he worked out some of this muscle ache. He could hear the sound of his own heart beat thunder in his ears, feel the anticipation as every step hit the cold hard ground, the adrenaline build the thundering rush of blood filling his hearing. He was not scared, nor quite was he excited, he felt free. The freedom that came from his chains being released, from knowing what he had to do and having no choice but to do it. The first blow came, his body swaying from it’s path before gripping the arm, sweeping the legs and sending the thug to ground with a swift jab to the nose. The next was felled almost in slow motion, Spartan kick jarring as it smashed into his chin, body recoiling fully through a somersault before slamming to ground. Kazuki had already moved past, his head weaving as he ducked through slashes swung at him, cutless dull and rusted. Throat, eyes, groin, the 1,2 kick combo making swift work of the next in a procession of violent henchmen. They were relentless, remorseless and knew that failure was equal to death. How could they concede here? But such weak resolve was nothing, on his shoulders he bore the weight of lives innumerable, those here and those that would prove future casualties. As if he could give up to something like the odds being stacked a little against him! Raising his pace he sprinted the next few steps, leaping into his newest assailant before swinging a hook down on him with an impact that had him soon spitting blood. White ruffled shift billowed in the wind, pirouetting once before lashing out with a roundhouse, snapping like striking serpent as it struck his jaw, the poor man’s body sent spinning to ground. They were less sure of their approach now, but for kazuki he was just getting started, right on the very of getting real fired up. With gorilla-esque strength entirely contrary to his regal appearance he charged the crowd, arms splayed as he grabbed all the flesh he could and shoved it back, forcing the crowd to stumble into retreat, they shall not pass! The mantra he screamed to himself as he forced their momentum before suddenly halting while they tripped and tumbled over one another. Steadying his breath he readied himself for the coming onslaught looking around to find he’d forced his guardsman back into the preparation area where the gladiators donned their arms for battle, only serving to increase the number of opponents he was faced with. ”I just might be the unluckiest man in the grand line” he sighed to himself, another ill prepared plan coming back to bite him in the ass, though that was a sensation in no way new to him. With a moment of elation he caught sight of something that just might turn the tides, approaching one of the many men surrounding him and putting a finger to the man’s chest ”You’ve got something on your shirt” “Wha-“ UPPERCUT! Where others would have flicked had this been played among children as it should have he threw a haymaker, grabbing the man’s forearms as he fell backward before relieving him of the gauntlets that encased his wrists, slipping them on to his own where they had never felt more at home. ”Right, now lets try this again shall we?” Edited by Singularity, Jul 1 2015, 02:03 PM.

Robin let the swarming mass overtake him as he faded into invisibilty letting himself seemingly disappear into the crowd so that no one noticed he actually had turned invisible. The former marines and other gladiators took to fighting the pirate crews with great resolve, Robin himself knew what would come next however. That damn Crow would certainly use his ability to knock him out. He wasn't willing for that to happen again however so he moved away from the fighting area doing what would be known as a single man tactical retreat. While he'd given them inspirational words and such he was using them for the most part to help with fighting the rest of the crowd and to give their main target a nice big target to strike with king's haki. If he was so focused on everyone then he couldn't target him when Robin came in for the real attack. Standing back far from the base, but sitting high above on a tree branch so he could see all that occurred he waited for the king's haki to come. When it did though, this time very few of the men dropped at all and shockingly even with the distance he had put between himself and the base it had still came down on him. It didn't feel anything at all like last time however. This was so weak it couldn't even really be compared to the first ability. His only guess was that since the man had had to spread it out over so many people and such a large area it had weakened it's potency. "Alright. Time to kick some ass." Robin said to himself before dashing back in, kicking off from the branch rapidly until he moved like an invisible bullet. Many of the marines themselves were still able to stand though with a struggle while the other half had been knocked out successfully. Back inside their encampment Robin moved from one pirate to the next waving his clawed fingers around to slash at each pirate he noticed. Of course they didn't panic at all like before as they knew what he was this time however they became more leary and worried since they could no longer see him. Smiling he managed to pick out one big guy from the group. Although technically it was a woman she'd been posing as a man for most of her piracy to avoid sexism and discrimination. She was a vicious woman though equal to any man he knew of. With short black spikey hair and a large menacing sword held up her eyes darted around trying to find him he supposed rather than him finding her. Unfortunately she wasn't that lucky and with that 50,000,000 bounty on her head she seemed like a perfect target. Rushing in he Lifted his arm up over his head and struck downward hoping to tear across her chest and be done with it. Even though his strength wasn't the best to knock out many people with alone his cuts were capable of leaving a pain that lasted a very long time without bleeding making it so that few could stand up easily against him. It was like magic however as she seemed to know exactly what he would do and lifted her sword up at the last moment to block his clawed fingers. Turning solid once more he looked at her in amazement. "How did you know?" He asked amazed that she had perfectly blocked him like that. "I'm not here to answer your questions marine!" She yelled before using the full force of her swing to knock his arm away and send him skipping back off balance. Rushing in she closed the distance between him and her swinging her sword around wildly trying to slice him in half while he skipped from one leg to the other trying to keep from getting cut. |

Sergei was glad that he chose to keep away from the group since it seemed that that large a group did not take long to attract the unnecessary type of attention. As he made his way through the camp buildings, the Marine pressed himself against the wall as several pirates ran past towards the apparent commotion. While he could hear said commotion but the marksman could certainly imagine what it was like. Leaving the wall, the doctor took one step before stumbling a couple of steps, finally finding his footing. He felt a similar pressure to the one exerted by Crow, however, this one was not as strong. Perhaps if he had to use it on more people, the power diminished? While he could not say for sure, that idea seemed like it would be the most likely one. After all, the more you tried to spread your power, no matter what it was, the weaker it got. Hopefully the Marines lasted long enough to keep Crow's power too spread out to affect them stronger. But that was not his job. Not yet. Perhaps after he got through with McTugBoat, he would help with Crow, but not until then. Couple of more minutes wondering around the camp finally led the swordsman to what he was looking for. The armoury. Unlike Kazuki and Robin, he was not that skilled with fighting without his weapons. He certainly knew the basics, but he was not confident in his skills to face armed opponents. As such, he was very happy when found his saber and both his pistols lying on one of the tables, along with several of his custom bullets in a pouch. Nearing the weapons, Sergei did a quick once over to make sure everything worked at first glace before strapping them to his body. He would definitely need to check all the weapons for damage once he got back to his ship. But for now, he hoped they lasted until he did not need them. After all, it would rather shitty to have his guns jam in the middle of a firefight. Tightening the last strap, the Marine turned around and came face to face with a pirate leveling the rifle at his chest. There were times he hated not having his hearing, just like now. The inventor only had a brief moment to take control of his powers before his chest was pierced by a bullet. Thankfully it was not seastone, something that the marksman was really glad for. As for the pirate, he stood there dumbfounded as he watched his bullet have no effect on his target. They told him that there were devil fruit users here but as far as he was aware off, they could be put down with regular bullets so he did not bother taking any with him seeing as how he considered himself a pretty good shot and was confident that all he needed to put down a devil fruit user was one bullet through the heart. That moment of hesitation cost the pirate since his opponent did not hesitate, drawing his revolver and squeezing the trigger once, sending a single bullet through the man's heart, ending the pirate's poor excuse of a life. Opening up the drum, the marksman took out the spent casing before putting in a new one as he stepped over the corpse. The noise of the gun would surely attract attention and he did not want to be here when more pirates arrived. |

Lightning crackled as kazuki flexed his fingers inside their new home, his gauntlets feeling as though they had never left him. These sticky fingered bastards had tried to pilfer them, and none too surprising either, they were certainly a treasure. If he had to guess it was likely that damnable jail guard trying to make an extra beli selling off confiscated items back to gladiators. Well whatever, he should probably just thank them for keeping them safe for him, because from here on, they’d be paying for all their mischief. ”I won’t tell you again, step from my path or I’ll put each and every one of you down. You are under arrest in the name of the world government, should you resist mercy will not be offered a second time.” his proclamation was met by nothing but scorn and scoffing, arrogant laughter and suggestions of his insanity. After all what kind of ridiculous person would make such claims when obviously this out numbered? He was going to be crushed in a landslide……right? Waiting not another second he struck, with all the lethal precision of a snapping viper, springing from the ground he clasped the head’s back of the nearest too him, the sizzle of scorched flesh elicited by his touch before driving a knee home into the mans face, pivoting on a single leg a kick lashed out sending another stumbling backwards, before he went to work once more a space cleared, driving a path through the gaggle of bodies with a vicious unrelenting barrage of punches. Here in the confines of the enclosed preparation area their numbers worked against them, they were as sardines in a tin, while he was free, free to do nothing but pummel anything and everything around him. Pained cries were interspersed with the crackle of electricity, calls of alarm as he yanked comrades bodies in the line of their brethren’s blows. He had no intention of taking them with his own. Fluttering insects swarmed to his beck and call, pluming from his body before spinning in the center of each of his palms, whipping the winds up their till two tiny tornado’s sat, one in each. “What the hell is that?” calls of alarm trickling through crowd that had already learned not to take him on carelessly. ”Didn’t I tell you already? No mercy will be given!” tossing the two projections ahead of him they exploded in expansion, picking up wind and current and whipping them into frenzied swirling masses of laceration that smashed into the crowd of bodies. Kazuki stepped forward, the regal dignity of a man of class and refinery, his sights set on much larger targets, while his cyclones circled him smashing bodies from his path as they left them littered with cut. When finally they reached the hint of sunlight once more, beaten and battered mooks from a menagerie of pirate groups were sent flying out the doorway in a an explosive burst before coming crashing down to the sanded ground. Kazuki following behind them stoically before with a wave of his hand he caused the two erratic columns to slow and dissipate. ”CROWS! Get out here! By order of the 3rd squad under the 46th regiment of the royal world government marines am her by placing you and all your conspirators under arrest. Now get down here so you can begin to atone for your innumerable sins!” His declaration was met only with silence, which was somewhat to be expected given it’s nature. Around the arena seating he, now far less populated than it had been previously, he could see several groups of bodies, captains sat with their most trusted officers looking to enjoy the skeptical below. Some looked as though they wanted to intervene, others as though they were on the verge of departure, but there was one constant between all of them. Not a single one looked ready to submit to kazuki’s demands. A thunderous crash sent tremors through the earth, a hulking figure crashing into the sands as it leapt from the stands above. To his left yet more movement, the arena wall seeming to melt and turn to sludge as a body stood unharmed and indifferent where it had been only moments before. He need not even ask for names their faces and abilities already recognized from their dossier files. It had been suggested they might be here. King k.rool captain of the snapjaw pirates, along with Elicio “Corrosive King” acrid, first mate of the endless eater pirates. One with a reptile zoan enhancing his already prominent brute strength, while the other used his corrosion paramecia to devour any who came up against him. ”Master Crows has many friends marine, friends who have no love for your sort any way. You should have just died in the arena like a good little puppet, but I can’t say I won’t relish the opportunity to make the experience infinitely more excruciating.” a serpentine tongue ran across slicked lips. The captian forgoing words in favour of action, a feral roar shaking the surroundings as he leaped higher than a human body should allow for, huge axe drawn back over head before swinging it down like falling thunder, smashing into the ground cracks rippling outward from the impact as kazuki was able to only just skitter backward in time. But while one might have been evaded the other had only drawn closer, a blur in the periphery as the body drew near, open palmed strikes looking to land on soft flesh and sear it with it’s touch. Wrenching muscles with speed he dragged out of them he switched his focus, body jerking in bobs, weaves, ducks and dives anything to keep him from their path but while occupied on the defensive he couldn’t catch hold of the fights tempo. Not wanting to be forced further onto the back foot he swing a punch in the briefest of openings he was able to find but as soon as his fist swung he knew he’d made a mistake. Mid motion the axes blade carving diagonally down at him from the outside, telling him instinctively he would be split in two if he took the blow. Able to divert his focus he swung his arms round in an improvised guard but there was little stability, his body sent rocketing through the air where it crashed with the outer barrier, blowing straight through it. |

Robin kept bouncing from one foot to the next in order to evade that woman's damn sword, she'd even managed to nick him a few times cutting his clothes and scratching his skin. It was amazing to him that she had such speed and agility even in this form of his. "Hey can't we just..." Ducking low he nearly had his head cut off as she attempted to end his plea to end the violence. "... talk this out?" With the sword moving over his head he suddenly realized just what opportunity he'd been given however and with all the speed and force he could muster thrust out his right arm toward the woman's chest, his bladed fingers slicing through like butter as she paused in mid air, her mouth open in shock. Pulling his arm back quickly he went to go for another strike before she jumped back, clutching at her chest with one hand while she held her sword letting the tip drag along the ground. "Ha...ha...ha" she gasped, breathing heavily as her body moved up and down. "How am I not bleeding?" Of course Robin knew the answer to that, it was his devil fruit's power of course she would feel the pain of that attack much longer than normal but she wouldn't bleed and he'd struck very close to her heart and lungs. "The kamaitachi doesn't make it's victim bleed. It just prolongs the pain of any injury. A great fruit for any interrogator, torturer, or sadist. However I'm not of these things so if you just give up I won't have to harm you any more. Eventually you'll receive so many injuries you'll be begging for death." Slowly he rose to his feet morphing back to human completely, his fingers still covered in blood which he wiped onto his uniform. Shaking her head the pirate refused. Clearly she thought she could continue fighting him. Sighing as he looked down at the ground he realized he wasn't going to enjoy this as he'd likely have to seriously hurt or kill a woman. |

Sergei heard the sounds of gunfire and screams as he moved down the space between the tents towards the seating area of the arena where he hoped to find McTugBoat. Hopefully the fishman had not gone far when the fighting started. The Marine remembered the pirate being all too eager to see him dead back on his own ship but he did not remember much about what said pirate would do in all out fight. He could not have recovered fully after escaping prison but it had been weeks now so he probably was getting there. Unfortunately, that still meant that the inventor had no idea what sort of person McTugBoat was in a fight. Hopefully he would not fight too much but that was rather doubtful. Wishful thinking. At the sound of feet pounding against the ground, the doctor turned his body into tar before sinking to the ground, forming a large enough black puddle between the tents and right in the path of the pirates. As the three men stomped across the puddle, they realized far too late that they were slowing down, eventually coming to a stop as their feet failed to let go. The marksman wasted little time as the tar puddle bubbled up as a human form appeared behind the three captured pirates, before thrusting his sword into the nearest pirate's back, the black blade dripping with blood as it ripped free of the dying body before said body was pushed forward with enough force to make it topple over onto one of the other pirate, pushing them both into the tar puddle where the still alive pirate struggled to lift the body off of him but failing to lift his arms from the tar. The third pirate tried his best to twist his body around as he started to draw his sword. Unfortunately, the pirate's sword only got half way out of the scarab before the Marine's own sword cut deeply into the pirate's neck, nearly severing it from the body entirely. With two pirates dead and the other one captured, it was time to find out exactly where McTugBoat was. Making his way towards the pile of bodies, the inventor knelt down, placing his blade near the still alive pirate's throat. It was about this time that the doctor realized that he could not exactly ask the pirate. With a sigh, he kept one hand on the blade while he fished out the notepad and a marker before placing it onto the dead pirate on top and wrote out his question, showing it to the pirate. "Where's McTugBoat?" the paper read. The pirate read it and was silent for a few moments as he weighed his options. The blade cutting through his skin made his decision. Perhaps he could still get out of this alive. "He's on the top floor of the arena!" the man said, wincing, hoping that his answer would be enough. Unfortunately for the man, the Marine that he faced did not believe in taking prisoners behind enemy lines. There was a faint smile on Sergei's face as he pressed the blade down hard, cutting through the tissue as the pirate gurgled his last breath. Wiping down the blade on the dead man's clothing, the doctor sheathed it before leaving the puddle and the dead bodies in the middle of the road and making his way towards the top floor of the arena. |
