Illya cursed under his breath as his hair failed to envelop Argos. How could that be possible? The pirate was sure that his speed far and away surpassed the CP9 agent's ability to follow him. There was no fucking way that the that man should have been able to react to the hairs trying to envelop him. Something strange was going on here. It was as if Argos was being protected by some deity that should not have chosen sides, if you believed that sort of thing. Either way, this presented an even bigger problem since it appeared that the agent was capable of dodging attacks fairly easily, both times that he had attacked resulted in said agent easily dodging the attacks while delivering his own. It was starting to get rather annoying. Unfortunately, there was not much that the inventor could do in this situation. What's more, his current situation did not allow him to protect Arcadia, the one thing that actually mattered in this situation. He did not know how long the Shichibukai would last under the assault of four enemies, but he doubted that it would be long. He just had to get rid of these CP9 agents and quickly.

While he was tracking Argos to the ceiling, the doctor was unaware of Henan sneaking up behind him and stabbing him in the back. Fortunately, said attack managed to work out better than he hoped. The one armed man grunted as the dagger hit his armour, not piercing the metal but managing to deliver enough of a force to hurt, though not too much. What it did manage to do that was somewhat useful was the fact that said force managed to make Illya stumble forward. Knowing that the attack from Argos was coming shortly, the pirate turned the stumble into Soru, disappearing from view of some of the people in the tunnel before reappearing far enough away to catch at least a couple of breaths so that he could reorient himself. From what he could see, everyone else that was not a CP9 agent was attacking the robot thing that Arcadia currently occupied.

The inventor was somewhat surprised to find the lighting user outside of the robot as she fired upon it. There really was only reason why the lightning female was not up close and personal, aside from seastone, and that was the devil fruit grenade. He really hoped that it was seastone that was the reason behind the lightning female's reluctance to be in the same cockpit as the Shichibukai. Otherwise, the grenade was a fucking waste since it was constrained to just the cockpit which did not help at all against Argos or Henan or the man that could flatten himself against the walls and the floor nor the lightning female who managed to easily evade it. So unless Arcadia managed to expel whatever it was that was in that grenade, unless of course it was a gas or something, and onto the remaining devil fruit users. If not, well, that was a complete waste of a grenade and the doctor would lose whatever little respect he had for her. Granted that he should have known that her smarts did not extend beyond technology, otherwise she would not have been caught, but still. As for his own attack, the martial artist unleashed another wall of heat that took up the entire tunnel and would melt even titanium. Hopefully Arcadia made the robot of stronger stuff.

The human-bird’s fathers did not pierce the joints of the big robot, but Raine followed with an attack behind the robot that seemed to crunch some of its gears and leak fuel down. After that Eve came out of the bot in a quick jolt, no doubt fleeing from some attack. William remembered vaguely hearing Illya speak of some devil fruit bomb. He smirked as he watched both Unca break another opening the robot’s defenses and Eve fire a lightning bullet through it. He didn’t fail to notice that the robot was not moving anymore either. The best thing I can do right now is make sure Arcadia dies while she’s still on the inside of that thing. If she leaves, she’ll only find more ways to make our mission difficult.

Ignoring the pain in his abdomen, William popped a strength pill and swallowed it. Then he advanced on the immobile Robot - while in his Hunter form – and grabbed it from its stubby legs. "You guys get out of the way for a moment." he told his comrades. He then summoned all the strength he could muster, which was a lot considering he was juiced up on a strength inducing drug and was in his strongest zoan form, and swung the whole Robot sideways into the wall, almost doing a full rotation to avoid hitting his comrades. "I can’t break your Robot Arcadia, but I will definitely break you inside of it." Fortunately, it was then that Illya released his heat wall, and William having turned in that direction lifted the Robot again to protect himself somewhat, though his left leg wasn’t properly covered and was severely burned as a result.

He then swung the robot again into the ceiling, and then again into the ground, then into the other wall, and would keep doing this until he’s either sure that Arcadia died or someone does something to stop him. Scenes of Mac's tortured body were flashing before his eyes. William had not fully realized how angry he was at her until this very moment when he found himself unable to stop swinging.

Strength: 65 (base) +37 (Hunter form) + 18 (Strength pill) = 120

This entire scene was looking a lot less like bounty hunter chasing after a criminal and more like a schoolyard bullying as they continued to lay into the machine that Arcadia had found herself piloting. To be honest she would have likely been better off without it as it became a hindrance on its own and just made her into a bigger and easier target. Quite the disappointment as she had been expecting a chance to let herself go wild for once, but it seemed that the woman's skill only extended to making inventions and not actual combat. A pity, but that was no reason for the huntress to hold back especially after having come this far. Touching back on the ground after her leaping punch on the thrusters on the weapon's back she had begun to prepare another attack on the mechanical beast until she saw Uncarayne coming her way at full speed, his hammer tearing through the underside of the contraption like toilet paper.

Rolling to the side avoid ending up in the same condition it seemed her evasive maneuver was not needed as he used his strange ability to flatten against the ground. Although he was still quite the goofy drunkard she couldn't deny the fact that he was the best of them when it came to destroying things and that was coming in handy today. "That thing won't be able to take much more of this. Let's end this quickly. Once that's done we can eliminate Suhov as well and end this madness." She commanded to the marine while taking up a fighting stance once more. Technically he was on a marine mission right now but he was still a member of the jacks and she was still a commander and expected the command to be followed. As lightning continued to dance all around her fist and arm to prepare another blow, it seemed her plan would be promptly interrupted by William showing up before them and grabbing on to her mech.

She didn't know what he had planned but there was a feeling that it would be something less than optimal in the eyes of the usually precise huntress. No matter how much she doubted William though she never expected him to do something like this. The man had bulked himself up and was now swinging around her maintenance unit like a ragdoll. The only fortunate thing that came from this was him using the large metal frame as a shield to Suhov's blast of heat that came down their way but right after it was back to this rather...brutish tactic. With him flailing around so wildly she was forced to do nothing more than watch as she couldn't get a good strike in. She was sure he'd tire out eventually though and then they'd be able to land that finishing strike on the ex Shichibukai.

With Illya using soru to escape, Argos rolled his body forward in the air to allow him to land on his feet, crouching. Henan too had to correct his trajectory just slightly, pulling himself to a stop and hurriedly glancing at the place his enemy had dashed over to. The two CP9 agents were just about to dart forward, but they froze in place before they even started when they saw Illya raise his hand. Having seen the attack several times before, they were well aware of what was coming. The two of them raised their arms in front of them and stood rigidly still, their muscles tensing and becoming incredibly sturdy in order to withstand the attack. Argos was fine, his flame-covered body healing from the burns in mere seconds, though Henan was not so fortunate. His clothes visibly singed and blackened, his green chitinous exterior cracking in places as the heat weakened it. He quickly tossed Argos was appeared to be a small pill, before using soru to get some distance and turn his attention to the robot.

Argos grinned, catching the pill and popping it in his mouth. It was the same pill as Henan had used on himself before, and would thus serve to even further boost Argos' already overwhelming speed. With the wall of heat passed, he disappeared in the blink of an eye and reappeared right behind Illya, both of his palms out in front of him.

Arcadia's breaths were shallow and fast, her heart racing as her body realised the danger it had been under when Eve had invaded the cockpit. Luckily the grenade had pushed her out, but she had other enemies to deal with. Frantically she typed on the controls, though it was definitely not made easy on her as the robot stumbled and fell to one leg, many of the joints having been severely damaged by Unca's cleaving attack. And as if that wasn't bad enough, the powerful explosive shot from Eve ripped the leg right off, along with much of the armour plating on the underside of the machine. Sparks jumped out of the exposed circuitry, steam shooting out of broken pistons. "I just need... Woaaah!!" Then it came to William's turn, who outright hefted the entire mass of metal into the air to begin bashing it around on the walls and ceiling. The mysterious metal shield known as Nom Nom-chan reacted on reflex, shooting out to latch on to the sides of the cockpit and prevent Arcadia from being tossed around so much. She could continue to input her commands, though whether they were of any use at this point was debatable. The glass of the cockpit shattered and pieces of metal flew all over the place, trickles of blood dripping down from Arcadia's forehead and arm.

"William..." Henan placed an arm on the Bounty Hunter's shoulder, looking at him with stern eyes. "We must capture her if possible. Please try to contain your rage, or at least..." He glanced over at the location he remembered Illya to be at. "Direct that anger elsewhere." He was panting, the wounds that had built up clearly beginning to take their toll.

The really good thing about fighting with Raine (in the fighting alongside sense instead of the fighting against sense), thought Uncarayne, was how great she was at reacting to things! No sooner had he burst out from under the robot into her field of view than she'd taken the situation in in a glance, and rolled to the side to avoid him. Behind him there was a loud crackle and then the deafening echo of a gun going off - good old Eve, of course, having passed out of the cockpit and into the tunnel easy as you please, and jamming her gun into the deep gash he'd left behind him.

The leg blew off loudly, the force of Eve's blow and its own weight causing it to tip over away from the robot and onto Uncarayne's flattened form; from the other side, William strode forth in a giant shape, just bristling with muscles, and grabbed Arcadia's Maintenance Only Bot by its remaining leg. Uncarayne emerged from the ground to catch it in its fall, and then

("Oh for goodness' sakes not again" flashed incongruously through his mind)

Illya's hand came up, and that now-familiar wall of heat washed through the tunnel. Uncarayne immediately sank back into the floor, covering himself in titanium robot leg as the wave passed. He tossed aside the leg as he re-emerged from the floor; its outside was glassy, wet, molten. He shuddered to think it could have been him. Then again, it could have been worse. He could have been Arcadia, who was probably having the world's worst case of motion sickness, with the way William was enthusiastically banging her in her robot against the walls, ceiling, and floor.

Well, a tad more than enthusiastic, really. The word was more like "frenzied". Or "berserk".

Either way, Arcadia couldn't have been having a very good time of it at all, especially after her glass cockpit broke and revealed her bleeding form.

"I... think Wiliam has the 'deal with Arcadia' part down," he remarked to Raine, and turned his gaze onto Illya away from William and Arcadia's broken robot. "We're going to need a way to deal with him, though. And those -" he bit back an expletive - "heat walls of his. Any ideas?"

The acrid smell of burnt metal and hydraulic fluids, spilling all over the hard floor, poked at Eve's nostrils as she surveyed their combined damage. The mech was little more than a pile of twisted junk, barely able to stand, even less likely to continue functioning. The leg crumpled under the stress and the machine's own weight. The cockpit was an exposed womb of shattered glass that offered a bloody baby. A genius as complex as the suit's own design that now sat vulnerable within a hair's breadth. Was there more? How many tricks could she pull? Everyone's pockets hit empty eventually. Eventually, the dice would land snake eyes and the game would be up. Eve stood and stared into the smoking cockpit. Alarms and flashing red lights lit Arcadia up nicely. Somewhere further down the tunnel, some kind of automatic ventilation system kicked up and sent a cool draft. Eve's coat started to billow and flap gently on the invisible waves. It mingled with the heat pulsing from Suhov's body and turned into a stronger gale that turned the coat into a flag, flapping in salute. Eve herself ignored the heat as it rippled through her body. Several sparks probed the air, but soon withdrew. "Arcadia," Eve spoke. The volume of her voice was low, but the tone grated like iron on iron. "I gave you your chance. You turned it down." Blue energy swirled in place of her pupils. "All your friends are dead. And you," she glanced to Henan, "now you get to go with the black suits." Eve's rifle creaked as she gripped it. Power began to gather in her left hand. And still the coat flapped more than ever, shining in proud color. "...You can't do whatever you want anymore."

Slowly, Eve's neck gyrated like one of Arcadia's broken gears. Her eyes locked onto Suhov. "...None of you can do what you like anymore." Boots began to echo on the metal, pistons bending material into shape. She passed by Will, Unca and Raine, but had eyes only for Suhov. "Get Arcadia. Don't let her get away. Beat her unconscious if you have to. She's the target." Her side ached just looking at him, the feel of his spear ripping up her skin and letting her blood still all too fresh a memory. "I don't know how you guys can protect yourself from his powers, but it doesn't matter. Arcadia does. Me and Argos, we're the only ones that can stay close to him. We'll hold him back if we have to." For a moment, she looked back and their gazes met. The strain and stress disappeared entirely, evaporated to be replaced with sunshine. "Be the hammer, yeah? Hit that nail right on the head."

The connection was cut, and all focus was back on Kazehara's dog. The ice gripped Eve's heart again and her expression frosted over. "And make sure they can't do. Whatever. They. WANT!" Eve was gone and the air bristled with static for the fraction of a second it took her to jump, as nothing more than a flash of light, right in front of Illya. Her free palm was already outstretched, touching at the metal of the man's breastplate. An oven to cook him in. Argos was on one side, Eve on the other. To Illyas's rear, the air trembled with oncoming might, focused into a single stream. To his front, a bolt of blue shrieked down Eve's arm, leapt from her fingers and dove straight at the conductive beauty that was his armor. Eve stood before an obstacle. Something the Marines, the World Government, the Gorosei wished taken down. At that moment, it didn't matter who, what or why. What mattered was that they thought it best that the obstacle did not exist. Eve would be a hammer if she had to. She would be a wrecking ball if she had to. A scream of anger filled the tunnel as she squeezed out every volt she had.

Damn it, damn it, damn it! Things were definitely, without a doubt going into the shitter. There really was not much that he could do at this point but it was not like he could simply give up and lie down. No, his pride would not allow him to do so. Furthermore, there was no advantage for him to do so. Arcadia was still free at the moment, not that that moment would last for much long unless he found some way to get out of this mess, which was really rather unlikely at this point. But he would not give up trying to find that way until his body failed to move. And seeing how he had yet to sustain any significant or note worthy injury at this current point in time, he was good to go, to turn this fight onto its head and crush the opposition. Unfortunately, it was looking more and more likely that the bitch Arcadia had gone and wasted her anti devil fruit grenade. Like seriously, if the intent was to use the anti devil fruit grenade against the lightning user, then she failed spectacularly since every single opponent was still up and at them, while the pirates were reduced to an idiot and himself.

Illya cursed under his breath as he saw Argos turn into a blur that moved towards him. Knowing what was most likely coming, the pirate did not waste any time in using Soru himself, disappearing from view for some, like the phoenix user, while remaining a blur for other, finally appearing some way down the tunnel to make sure that he had every single enemy in his sight. Now, he was really tempted to use the heat wall again. Unfortunately, more likely than not, it would simply be blocked by pieces of Arcadia's power suit so it would really be a waste of his stamina to unleash said attack. Instead of unleashing an attack, the inventor instead placed a pill into his mouth, ready to bite down on it at a moment's notice, just in case he would need a quick dose of healing from whatever attack these Marine nitwits decided to unleash upon him. There was a slight lull in the action as the lightning user spouted some bullshit about stopping him.

And then she turned into lightning before zapping towards him, appearing right in front of him, placing a hand on his chest. Bracing himself for the attack, the doctor did not have to wait long as the female unleashed a wide beam of lightning through his body. The one armed man felt his muscles seize as his neural signaling went haywire. He felt his hand involuntarily clutch his spear as his teeth snapped together, breaking apart the pill between them. He was not entirely sure what sort of damage the lightning did to his body seeing as how he felt nothing more than a faint tickle, but the pill that he had just consumed very quickly began to heal any damage done by the attack. "Well, that certainly tickled." Illya quipped as he unleashed an attack with his spear, jabbing it over several dozen times at Eve's chest. Hopefully at least one of those thrusts would find its mark and the seastone could work it's magic.

When the thick glass of the robot cockpit finally broke and Arcadia spilled out, William let out a sigh of exhaustion and stopped to see if it was time to stop swinging. At the same time Henan interjected and reminded him that the goal was in fact to capture her. It was then that William stopped to access her wounds. She had two bleeding wounds and some bruises. He smirked and said: "I think she can take more punishment. Don’t worry, I’m a good doctor, I’ll fix her up for you real nice after we capture her."

In the heat of battle, Eve seemed even more passionate about stopping her than William was. Justice was a good cause all in all, but William couldn’t usually find it in him to be motivated by such an abstract concept like that. He much preferred to evaluate things in terms of life and death, at the source of all good and evil. Still he was on the same page as Eve concerning Arcadia. He nodded solemnly and said: "You don’t have to worry at all. We’ll get her."

After Eve moved on to fighting Illya, William readied himself, flexed a few muscles to relieve the stress on his neck from the swinging and said to Henan: "That moving armor of hers needs to be overwhelmed to inflict injury on her, so I’ll just start firing at her wherever she is and stop at your signal. Deal?"

With that said William vanished using soru to regain his element of surprise and appeared on the Shichicbukai’s side, then started firing feathers from both his arms towards her entire body, in hopes of thwarting Nom Nom-Chan’s efforts to keep her safe. All the while he stayed on his guard and tried to avoid being hit by some sneaky attack like that powerful seastone bullet from earlier. Missy and Mac weren’t here anymore, but Arcadia herself could really have any possible set of combat skills. She likes to hide behind gadgets, robots and subordinates, but that does not mean she’s utterly helpless alone.

"This woman is still wanted dead or alive." Raine spoke the to Cipher Pol members as well as the others who seemed to be intent on capturing Arcadia alive. The huntress however had absolutely no qualms with killing the woman in cold blood. In fact, that had been her plan at the start, but that was before learning just how poor of an opponent Arcadia actually was. There was nowhere near as much pride in killing her now than Raine previously believed and that was a true shame. Still, if the opportunity presented itself she would surely consider it. No hard feelings or anything just all business. There wasn't much left to this job at this rate though. Arcadia's machine had practically just crumbled to pieces and Suhov was all alone. While Uncarayne was saying something about fighting the heat man she had ultimately decided against it. He was free to try for himself of course but the white haired killer didn't recommend it.

She was very much so ill equipped to deal with everything the centipede man had at his disposal and the Cipher Pol agents could handle it while they took Arcadia down. They had done well enough with it so far. Besides it seemed he man was having to backpedal pretty hard due to the action of Eve and Argos although Raine had to wonder what that woman was thinking in recklessly charging in like that. She had already been pretty severely injured earlier by either seastone or haki when dealing with Suhov and this situation would be no different. The huntress could go back her up, but she was not a superhero or something and there was no way she'd make it in time after they had moved so far back. "Like I said before, I'm going to take care of our true target. After that we can easily overwhelm Suhov with our sheer numbers and might. He only has one way out of this and that's through us. Going back out where we came in is a death wish due to all of the exits being sealed off."

That was about all of the explanation she would give before moving in to position to strike the Shicibukai, William having already begun his attack while she was talking. Another flurry of those metallic feathers of his. Simple but effective, which was fine with Raine, but that left her without an options of getting in close for an attack. Well, the next best option was to simply overwhelm the woman with a sheer number of attacks coming her way. Her gadgets were mighty and varied but at this point they had backed her into a pretty thick corner. Leaping into the air Raine began to do a flurry of kicks down at the woman with her two regular legs, sending a barrage of Rankyaku shockwaves raining down on her. Certainly this wasn't the end of her attack however as her hair sprang to life as it had done so many time before and formed two more legs both of them kicking now and essentially doubling the number of shockwaves that she fired off.

"Tch." Argos clicked his tongue as Illya swiftly avoided his attack with a well-timed soru. He was ready to go after the pirate once more, leaning down a little to prepare for his leap, but two things stopped him. The first was that Eve had caught his eye, appearing next to the centipede man to distract him further. After all, that's what the entire point to it was, to distract Illya so that Arcadia could be captured. Argos swiftly sent a rankyaku towards Illya, hoping that it might allow Eve a slightly better advantage, but he had almost immediately darted off towards Arcadia.

"Geez, hold off for just one seco- Ooof!!!" Still in the cockpit, the morphing shield that Arcadia affectionately referred to as Nom Nom-chan was doing it's best to repel the flurry of attacks headed towards the shichibukai. A multitude of rankyaku shockwaves, doubled in number by Raine's use of hair in place of legs, plus a gatling barrage of feather-bullets from William. The flexible metal may have been extremely fast to react, succeeding in blocking many from the first wave, the sheer number of projectiles headed it's way was simply too much for it to handle. First a single feather made it through, impaling Arcadia's shoulder. Then another, and then a powerful cutting shockwave to go along with it. In just a few seconds, Arcadia was bleeding profusely and clearly not in good shape, struggling to even properly keep her head up. One of her eyes was forced closed, blood trickling down that side of her head, and she clutched one arm tightly.

Henan made sure not to miss the opportunity. Like Argos, he rushed towards Arcadia as soon as he noticed that she was weakened by the overwhelming rush of projectiles, but there was one thing he carried that Argos did not: Handcuffs, fashioned out of a grey-blue metallic substance. He had switched back to his human form almost immediately after drawing them from his pocket, and his target was Arcadia's wrists. Grabbing her arms, Nom Nom-chan already occupied by the feathers and shockwaves, he forced the handcuffs onto her wrists and pulled her out of the cockpit. Rather violently, she was thrown down onto the ground, where she was held by both Argos and Henan.

However, all she did was grin. "Hehe... -cough- I'll at least take a few more with me, right?"

It was at that moment that the unmistakeable sound of a den-den mushi ringing echoed through the corridor, one which Argos picked out of his coat to answer. "Ye-"

"In the sky! It just suddenly came down and wiped out half the island! It-" The line was then suddenly cut off, leaving Argos simply holding the snail in his hand. Then, in a split second, he had rushed down to Arcadia and pulled her up by her neck.

"What did you do?!?" She continued to grin, though she struggled to speak with her windpipe practically being crushed. "Hehehe... You didn't think I had nothing left, did you?"

Far above the tunnels in which Arcadia lay, even further above the surface in fact, was a large mass of metal clustered together in some form of mechanical creation. It was not simply a distance above Las Arcadas, nor in the clouds miles up. It lay in the very upper atmosphere; roughly the size of a small ship, and blockily shaped like what appeared to be some sort of space invader. That is, apart from the huge pair of strange-looking cannons strapped either side of it, white-hot from the heat of firing. For a brief moment, light began to build up in them as they charged, and mere seconds later a huge blast of concentrated light and energy shot down towards Las Arcadas. By the time it hit it was easily as wide as a house, and the resulting explosion engulfed an entire block of clubs and houses. The surface of the island was already covered in wounds from this orbital satellite, and it was showing no signs of stopping. The Marine ships around the island had been all but obliterated, and any forces on the island were certainly in no better shape.

"We have Arcadia. That was our mission. We... have no further business here."

There was a long, grating silence in the tunnel. Sparks fizzled and popped from severed ends of electrical things sticking out of the robot's parts, and there was the hiss of metal slowly cooling and warping. Uncarayne stood still, eyes on Suhov; the man surely had more tricks up his raggedy sleeves than that heat wall, but with Arcadia down, it was anybody's guess if he'd stand down too. He didn't look like the type.

Eve spoke, her voice almost too low to catch, but what could be heard of it crackled like the electrical energy she was composed of. She was right, of course. Not even about Arcadia or Henan or anybody. More about herself, more about Uncarayne, than even they'd known at first: her words slammed the walls around them close. Or, more correctly, her words held a bright light up and showed them the room they'd locked themselves into, a long time ago. The day he signed the papers for the Marines, the day he'd laughed and agreed to come on board with the Jacks of All Trades. Arcadia had tried to break out of those walls, and Suhov had gone along with her in her mad insanity, and now...

... "EVE!" shouted Uncarayne, eyes wide as she vanished from behind him, travelling the space between in a single step. She appeared before Suhov, sudden and deadly as the first bolt of lightning of a summer storm. And Suhov, damn the man, was prepared for it somehow. The lightning lanced over and over him, but he stayed upright, and his spear flashed out to stab at Eve - "HERE!" he roared, and with a mighty heave he grabbed the discarded leg of Arcadia's robot, ignoring the searing pain of its hot surface on his wounded hand, and threw it at Eve's back - an easy way out and away from Suhov's deadly stabs.

Let Raine do her cold calculus of numbers and strategy; Uncarayne had no mind for that, not right now. There was danger to be faced and by Justice he would face it head on. She was moving backwards to bring Arcadia down for good - well, all and good for her. Uncarayne leapt forwards, his hammer swinging out wide and thick chains arcing in the air behind it into the way of the spear-strikes. He might not be able to fully divert the attack or protect Eve, but he certainly could try to entangle that weapon and give Eve some additional room to recover for another strike...

(...a den den mushi rang.

Argos snapped something.

Arcadia laughed.

There was a rumble through the tunnel as dissipated force ran through its outsides.)

Uncarayne threw the last loop of chain he could and sank back into the floor, dragging whatever he could down with him. "What... what the hell was that?!"

What kind of monster was this? Mac, Bobby, Arcadia, they all had something protecting or shielding them to let them survive one of Eve's strikes. She had sent pure, unaltered energy coursing through every vein, artery and nerve and it had, at best, caused Suhov mild discomfort. A mix of surprise and fear marred Eve's face. She pulled her palm away and instinctively began taking leaping steps backwards as the sharp point of that weapon gleamed in anticipation. Where was Argos? Henan? Anyone? Her teeth threatened to crack under their own pressure. She couldn't take him alone. The first jab missed by an inch, but she could only backpedal so quickly and Suhov was fast for all the bulk he wore. Flashes of searing pain jumped in her memory and the coldness that came with warm blood. A bitter taste soured her tongue. It was less fear, though her eyes fought back the need to show it, and more disappointment. They had fought tooth and nail to get there, in that dingy and stuffy tunnel, succeeded in taking down a Shichibukai and her crew one by one. And yet in the split second Eve had before the spear plunged into her stomach, her heart or her lungs - that eternal second - she realized that despite all their accomplishment she might well die to some cruel sadist. There was nothing to like, nothing to respect. Suhov was despicable incarnate. A petty man who did what he did because he enjoyed the suffering of others, and, loathe as Eve was to admit it, had the strength to indulge his twisted behavior. The coat would fall, the lightning would dim. In dying she would have failed her doctrine and duty, as well as her powers. For all the might the Goro Goro no Mi granted her, she was still just too weak.

More than anything however in that second however, Eve was stupid. Stupid in thinking she was alone against that titanic fiend. Before the spear could rush any further, Argos' parting gift arrived, a blade of force cutting through the air to knock the spear away. But better than any of CP9's arsenal was that voice. There was nothing quite like having a friend to watch your back when doom descended. Her own name, shouted from further down the tunnel, flickered into her ear like a pat on the shoulder and Eve's will reappeared in flash of blue. The leg of Arcadia's machine flew like a meteor from Unca's incredible muscles and its metallic pull tickled at Eve's back. Before the spear could find its mark, Eve was gone, absorbed into the broken machine as it passed through her. The spear, for all its seastone and workmanship, pinged harmlessly at the casing; which gave Eve her chance. Thunder cracked and she was hurtling forward, out of the mechanical leg and above the spear, hurtling at light-speed not behind Suhov, not in front, but within.

Will had 'worn' her. The walls, the robot, even the leg she inhabited a nanosecond previously all embraced her electronic form - and so too could Suhov's armor. She hoped, prayed to some higher power that the bands of metal tightly sealed around that man of spite would hold her as so many other's had done. If it was not Suhov's raw physical prowess or his destructive powers, but his tools that were giving her grief, then why not use them against him? If she could stun him for just a second, hold him place with another jolt, then it might be enough for Unca to wretch that damn spear from Suhov's grasp. The White Serpent's dog was strong, of that there was no denying, but Eve knew only one other person that could match that strength, and he was comfortably close. "GET IT!" she yelled, before bursting with power once more.

Illya did his best to keep his spear on target even as a shockwave slammed into said spear. A smile spread beneath the pirate's helmet as he imagined the spear head piercing the lightning female's flesh. The smile turned into a snarl of rage as the female disappeared into the suddenly appearing piece of metal, his own weapon plinking harmlessly against the inanimate object. Almost immediately, like taking absolutely no time at all, the inventor knew that he had to get the fuck out of this place. While he was fairly certain that he could take another attack similar to the last one, it was doubtful that the female would try the exact same attack since her previous one did not work as she would have expected. Thus it was likely that she would have something else up her sleeve and he had absolutely no intention on finding out what that trick might be. At about the same time, the doctor felt a tugging at his spear and a very quick glance told him that there were chains now around his spear, pulling it down into the floor. That only added an additional sense of urgency to get away.

Not wasting a single moment, the one armed man heated up his body to titanium melting proportions, the spear heating up along with the body as it was in his hand. At the crack on thunder, Illya Soru'd to the side away from the lightning female and towards Arcadia, the heated up spear passing easily through the melted chains. If only that Shichibukai bitch didn't waste her anti devil fruit grenade then maybe they could have taken care of the lightning user but unfortunately that was not the case and so he was forced to run seeing as how she had somehow miraculously managed to avoid getting spear through with seastone and without seastone, there was absolutely no way that he could do anything to her and that was rather unfortunate since it would be that much harder to take Arcadia with him when an opponent was virtually untouchable. Maybe if it was just him and the lightning female then he might have been able to do something, but as it stood right now, there was not much he could. That did not mean that he would stop, not until his own body gave out.

Coming out of his Soru, the pirate was greeted by a rather unwelcome sight in the form of Arcadia already captured by the CP9, being held up by her throat by Argos. Taking a step towards her, the inventor heard the tunnel shake all around him. Seeing as how it was doubtful that this was the work on the Marines, since they had already captured Arcadia, that left only the Shichibukai to be the one responsible for the shaking. While it was nice to think that the female had another trick up her sleeve, the fact was that they were down here and whatever was happening up there was of no help down here. But maybe it was possible to bluff his way to get the CP9 to release the Shichibukai. "Now, that's no way to treat your prisoner." the inventor said as he slowly started walking towards them. "Now, as I'm sure you are aware, whatever it happening up there is due to Arcadia's actions and I doubt that you can stop it by yourself. However, I'm sure that you simply transfer the possession of Arcadia to me, I will make sure to stop whatever it making that ruckus up there." the doctor finished with a smile, popping another pill into his mouth but not activating it.

For William, it was always nice to see Raine move in tandem with him. It was amazing how each of them knew exactly, and so naturally, when to take charge and when to follow, without ever actually clashing. He knew full well how lucky he was to have a partner like that.

William activated his bird vision to be able to discern Arcadia’s injuries even among the flurry of attack and parry. He knew the moment to halt the attack was near when Arcadia’s body was riddled with the right amount of cuts.

The two CP9 agents seemed to detect the opportunity too and were suddenly on the girl, binding her and capturing her. William stopped attacking then. For a single tiny heartbeat, the mission seemed complete and Will almost sighed in relief, until his ears twitched at the sound of Eve and Uncarayne fighting Illya, and then he realized that they were the ones on the defensive now, which put the advantage in the enemy court.

And since bad news never comes alone, Arcadia said something about not going down alone. Bertrand just knew that whatever she pulled was just nasty. He almost went for cover on instinct fearing some sort of self-destruct attack, but nothing actually gave off that impression aside from her words so he hesitated for a moment, and then realized that she didn’t actually have anything on her apart from that defense armor judging from the torn clothing and flesh.

Then a den den mushi rang…

From the fucking sky???! he thought. She’s destroying the whole island?! Will’s thoughts were interrupted by a tremor and then another one. She’s using one of the very weapons of mass destruction she’s being persecuted for selling to pirates.

He would have jumped her right then and killed her, but the sight of both the CP9 agents who wanted her alive gave him pause, and he knew that attacking them is just asking for a bounty. In moments like these, William envied pirates their ability to ignore what the world government says completely.

Instead he set to thinking on how to save the people of the island. The exit of the tunnel seemed far away, and he alone wouldn’t be able to face whatever it is that can wipe out an island. For a moment, it seemed like the situation was unescapable, until he remembered one key detail. Whatever it is that Arcadia makes, even that goop that was healing Mac, is actually in the end heavily made of metal. This little detail was the difference between saving thousands and running cowardly with his tail tucked between his legs.

It was then that Suhov appeared and made his proposal. The gal of him even suggesting that was annoying, but William knew he was barking at the wrong tree. Still, allowing him to get close was a mistake in the first place so Will lifted the robot which was still near them and swung it at him right away. He avoided everyone else of course, but he also made sure to swing it horizontally in front of the pirate to keep him from getting between them and the exit right now.

After that he spoke to Eve: "Hey Eve, if you want to save lives, I have a plan. Whatever it is that is destroying the island is probably made of metal, and this island’s magnetic field, the one we navigators use to get here with the log pose is artificial. The beacon emitting it is in the center of the island. If you merge with it and amplify it enough, you will pull down the weapon. You’ll probably destroy other things too, but it doesn’t sound that this weapon is gonna destroy less. The beacon is a tourist spot so I’m sure you’ll find it quickly. And don’t look at me like that, Unca taught me about magnets and electricity one day when he was drunk."

After that he looked at Argos: "Argos-san, correct me if I’m wrong but you’re the only one except Eve who can fight Illya here on equal ground, and you also have wings to fly away whenever you like it. I’ll lend my wings and back to everyone else and take them to safety while you hold him back."

Then he crouched so everyone can climb: "Quickly guys! We’ll need to make sure that thing doesn’t fall on the island when Eve pulls it down."

As she relentlessly pelted the inventor with shockwaves Raine knew when to stop by the sight of William letting up now. Once he did this she was able to make out the sight of the CP9 agent move in and bring the woman down. "Tch." She clicked her teeth as her legs began to settle and she landed on the ground, hair also returning to it's normal state on her head. What was up with their obsession of keeping this foolish woman alive? She was almost certain that if they were going through this much trouble then it was because they wanted to use her for something in the future, but that was just asking for trouble. Death was the ultimate form of control in this situation, but no matter. She wouldn't just openly strike a government dog. The last thing she needed was to paint a target on her own back. With her taken care of though Suhov would be the only remaining target and as stated before was practically easy pickings with all of their numbers.

She was honestly surprised the man was still standing at all at this point all things considered, but it was no matter. The job was all but done at this point. Just then however she was able to make out a light jolt of force reverberate through the tunnel, something had happened on the surface from what she could tell, something that had done quite a number up there. "I lose more and more respect for this woman by the second. Just snap her damn neck already." Raine called out to Henan in an annoyed tone. She wasn't usually one to say 'I told you so', but now this was starting to present a problem. "Just end her now before she does something else stupid." She held out a single hand as if it were a blade, directed straight at the Ex Shichibukai's chest. That was all it would take to put an end to this.

Seemingly out of ideas or something Suhov tried to offer some sort of deal. Yeah, like that was going to happen. The man must have been stupidly desperate to think they would believe that. She wouldn't even dignify him with a response at this point as she instead moved back to avoid being hit with more robot parts which seemed to be flying up and down the corridor quite frequently after it fell apart. Honestly Suhov was another of those that were better of just dead, but she knew she couldn't do that alone and would have to group on him to achieve that goal. Something far less from what she considered to be fun, but whatever it took she supposed. As William mentioned however, Argos was most suited for dealing with Illya especially with Eve being practically out of commission at this point. She wasn't too sure about all the stuff with the magnet and whatever Arcadia's weapon was though as it wasn't really her area of expertise but assuming everyone else was fine with it she would give it a shot. After all, if whatever this thing was was truly capable of causing mass destruction from the sky then they were going to be at risk even if they did make it back to their ship.
