It all makes sense now...

Of course, she was very surprised when she turned around to see the unexpected guest, almost prompting a threatening gesture towards the fishman for all the trouble he had caused. However, she became calmer the more she heard the fishman's explanation. That being said, she also became more irritated as the fishman spoke, mainly because his justification was rather imprudent. Her thought process began to run through her head in chaos, numerous considerations battled within her mind. Upon connecting a puzzle to the piece, Hannah widened her eyes upon the realization.

Wait...that guy we cornered at the locker room. I remember now! He's the mayor's son!

When the fishman explained his entire story to them, Hannah blinked a several times. She let out a soft burst of air through her nostrils as she entered into the house, closing the door behind her. As she removed her glittery shoes, she locked the door behind her so that no one could come in at an abrupt moment. She then began to make her way towards the table, passing by Jake and calmly motioning his finger down. After all, pointing was indeed rude at a time like this. She looked at Jake's expression, revealing a more dead serious expression.

She walked past the table and towards the small counter where all the cooking supplies were placed. She gloomily stared at the floor as she was walking, releasing some sort of ominous atmosphere that seemed to have silenced everyone. She grabbed a cup from one of the small racks and used her other hand to grab a pitcher of boiled water, a tradition that the family tends to boil every day. Pulling out the cabinet, she wiggled her fingers around before locating the pouch of green tea, her favorite kind of tea. Pouring the boiled water smoothly into the cup, she combined it with the pouch after ripping its contents out. She did all of this while turning her back away from the group of people, as if she was giving them the cold shoulder. It was unclear whether Hannah was merely pissed or contemplating deeply. Either way, it was only correct that she was given the silence that was necessary.

As she was mixing the water, she finally spoke in a very solemn manner. "If you didn't kill the mayor in the first place, none of this would have happened."

She finally turned her body to face everyone, making her way to sit down on one of the chairs. Before anyone could speak, she continued on with what seemed to be an analysis. Mainly, it was directed towards the fishman. "Let's think carefully of the current situation. We were able to deduce and track down that it was indeed the Mayor. As for motive, we can already guess it's due to the fact that Director Baye got jealous and the Mayor wanted to feed the ego of his brother, but we could have built enough concrete evidence to convict him. In fact, we had cornered the Mayor's son as he was the one responsible for killing our previous bodyguard. So, before we were able to confirm that validity, the opportunity instantly disappeared because you wanted some style points. Now the entire blame is unnecessarily placed on you: the bombing of the theatre, his home, and the mayor's death. So, hypothetically if he was still alive, we'd have a fair trial of the mayor and his entire family. No matter how corrupt Marines are, you can't avoid hard proof evidence. The entire family would all be condemned as criminals and charged in mass murders of citizens."

"But now...here we are." She rolled her eyes as she spoke with biting sarcasm. She took her first sips of the tea after mixing it for so long and continued to speak. "I don't care how justified you are of your actions, but what's done is done. I would equally love the Mayor to pay with death for his ruthless actions, but it doesn't make any sense to rashly kill him right off the bat without ever considering other factors. Now that we can't change the past, we're going to have to do what we can for the future. Obviously, I can't ask you to leave because you won't. Every Marine in this island is searching their ass off for you and we really have no choice but to house you in order to keep you safe. But I refuse to let the rest of the Mayor's family leave this crime unscathed and framed upon a reckless murderer. I will find means to make sure they pay for their crimes, and you are going to help me in some way whether you like it or not. Since you conducted murder anyways, you'll never be forgiven no matter the outcome. So, only until those ungrateful bastards answer for the deaths of innocent lives, I will help you leave this island. Are we clear?"

Hannah couldn't really pardon the fishman for needlessly killing the mayor, but she definitely could not forgive the entire Baye family. And she wasn't going to idly sit around and let the truly unforgiven bask themselves in a graceful period.

Hannah spoke in such a delicate tone. It sounded rather gentle but yet, she sounded threatening with her dead serious expression. She took another sip of her tea as she continued to glare at the fishman. She was done with what she had to say as she turned her head towards the mother. "Ms. Evergreen, could you please make our guest some food? Like I mentioned previously, I'll pay for the extra cost." Hannah asked as she took another sip of her hot tea.

When she took her third sip, she suddenly spit it out back into the cup after her taste buds reacted to a very weird sensation that tasted nothing like green tea. Some of the liquid spilled out onto the table, where the diluted substance seemed to release a darker shade of smoky green, compared to the beautiful greenness the tea was supposed to give out. She bewilderingly looked around the table as the taste lingered around her mouth. "What the hell!?"

"Oops...I think you took the pouch that I was experimenting with marijuana. Sowwy." It was then followed by a devious giggle.

"CAROL!"

Jake was not fazed by the fishmans explosive retort. He could explain and come with excuses all he wanted, but it wouldn’t help. As he waited for Musashi and Hannah to complete their respective monolouges, Jake remained where he was and glared at the fishman with an intensity which threatened to light the fishman on fire.

”For all I care it doesn’t really matter who exactly bombed what. You could as well have been the sole perpetrator and it wouldn’t be any worse than it is now.”
Jake took a couple of steps forward and placed himself across the table from the fishman.
”And why is that? It’s because you decided to stoop down to their level. It doesn’t even matter if you can convince anyone with that story of yours, you will be hanged anyways. Which leads us to the proposition at hand.”
Placing both hands on the table, Jake leaned in towards the fishman and spoke with a lower, calm voice which came in stark contrast to his earlier speil.
”Just so we’re all clear the following are the choices you have here. Either you make a run for it and we’ll wish you the best of luck getting off this island before the marines find you.”
Jake smirked, the fishman was currently public enemy number one on Karaoke Island, escaping was in most likelyhood near impossible, and they all knew it.
”Or you help us find these guys so we can do what we have to. Note that we want them unscathed, which means no burning, no exploding, no chopping, slicing, bashing, crushing, choking or anything else that can count as harm. Oh, and noone will stick their neck out for you if things get messy.”

Jake had no qualms whatsoever blackmailing this oversized crustecean who was no better than the ones he had killed, though he could prove himself useful. All in all it was a win-win scenario for Jake, he’d either be rid of the Bayes’, the fishman, or both.

”So, which one will it be?”
Obviously neither alternative was very appealing. But considering the circumstances it wouldn't be much of a choice anyway.

They had spoken.

Musashi was alone on his side, but two key lines stood out in the verbal lashings he was receiving. The two were strangely calm in the presence of an admitted political assassin. But that wasn't what was getting to him, it wasn't that or their damned cocky attitudes. Now, Musashi was a perfectly rational idiot when a blade wasn't pointed at his neck. This was likely the only reason he wasn't filleting these two individuals, but there may have been something else to it.

Once everyone was done talking, and even moving on, he would be sitting, cross armed, and leering at the most recent one to speak. Jake. This man stood there, telling him that he stooped to the level of the mayor and was a weak-minded fool or something er'the'other and went on to give the monstrous fishman an ultimatum of sorts. He was leaning in, and spoke calmly in place of his earlier yelling. Almost like he wanted Musashi to listen.

But he what he'd said was already wrong.

"Bullshit," Musashi would speak, this eerie calmness about him.

He let this grab the attention of both of everyone in the room. His opposition on the matter had established their points so soundly, what possible rebuttal could he have had? He would then point his finger at Hannah, likely high off the marijuana tea she'd have drank a few moments ago. "First of all, you. At what point did me killing the mayor cause the theatre bombing?" he would ask her.

His eyes now would look over at her, filled with a calm fury, "You claim that had I not killed the mayor, none of this would have happened. When did me killing the mayor suddenly cause a point in the past to involve your theater, which I was in, mind you, to get bombed by the Baye family?" Musashi would shake his head, standing up once more, crossing his arms, approaching her. "I'll rephrase this for you... How would me not killing the mayor take back all of those deaths he caused? Your friends on stage, the people slain by his order to cover his ass. Nothing changes about the situation we are in except for the fact that an egocentric sociopath at the top of the ladder is dead. If he'd have lived, I'd still be here, hiding from the marines who think I bombed the theatre and the mayor's house, and he'd be alove pinning it on me while his hirelings cleaned up the scene and pinned as much on me as possible."

Musashi would sigh and shake his head, "But you've got your head in the clouds, ignoring how imperfect the system is and always has been. You think that if I had a badge and a uniform, and spouted shit about 'justice' at the drop of a hat, I'd have every right to say that what I was doing was right, and I'd get a commendation for putting down a terrorist threat. The double standard is real, and the law doesn't take into account wealth and foul play."

Suddenly, his head would turn to face Jake, "And you." He proceeded to take a step around the sitting Hannah, and approach Jake, standing up straight. "What exactly do you mean... Stooped? The mayor is a political figure, his whole family is rich and famous. People treat their rich celebrities with far more leniency than they treat you or me. He is above the 'law'. What makes me attacking him while he runs away from me, knowing full well that if he made it out that if he made it out of there alive I would never be able to pin him for his crimes in a million years, what about that takes me down a notch from anyone? I didn't stoop, I stepped up!"

Musashi would look Jake in the eye, standing chest to face with him now, "Imagine for a second if you saw a man about to burn a piece of paper which was the only evidence linking the mayor to the bombings. Imagine what you would do for that paper to not be lit ablaze. You'd cut his arm off, you'd do anything for that one fleeting glint of justice." The monstrous crabman's point being clear, "Are you any better than me? I doubt so, greatly."

"And since you aren't any better than me, you have, in theory, stooped to the level of a sociopath willing to kill any number of innocent civilians to stoke his brother's ego and by extension his own. The level of a teenage girl willing to destroy any number of lives at the drop of a hat? The level of a man willing to drag his immediate family into hell with him for the sake of as shitty a reputation as the best director on a hazey little island in the West Blue? Or are you a hero, who saved justice by acting on your own initiative?"

With that, Musashi would shake his head. "I'm sorry, but I'm not about to be told by a man willing to negotiate with a political assassin that my actions were rash. If you thought I was guilty of any true crime, I'm sure you'd have attacked me and done away with my crimes just as I'd done myself to the mayor."

He would walk out the front door, "You're both fucking hypocrites. I'll handle this myself, and you'll stick to being mindless civilians as it were. Enjoy supper, Ms. Evergreen's cooking is delightful. It might even grow you a conscience."

The door slammed behind him.

OOC: Alright, got back from my missions trip. Gonna finish the edit from my outline.

Jackass...I don't even think you listened to me at all.

She blinked a few times. How would YOU killing the mayor take back all the deaths that have already been done? What's done in the past has already happened, there's nothing you can do to take it back. Just as you can't fight darkness with darkness and you can't fight hatred with hatred, you can't fight crime with crime itself! My best friend would not have been the least satisfied with revenge...but it's too late already. And what the hell, the Marines weren't the least suspicious of you! All you had to do was stay and be questioned by the Marines because you were viewed as a hero in everyone's eyes! There was no way you would you be suspected as a killer, let alone be convicted as one! A system isn't perfect, no system ever is. The best we can do is to prevent this system from going to hell. What you're doing is molding justice into your own twisted format, not taking into consideration of how others feel. You selfish bastard...

Hannah contained it all within her thoughts as she respectfully listened to the fishman. She dared not utter the words as it would not help the situation any better. She coughed a bit as the bitter taste of the Mary Janes still lingered within her mouth. This was already turning into a conflict and it began to antagonize Hannah a bit. While she knew herself she wasn't particularly correct in totality, the fishman sounded like a stubborn snob who dared not change his beliefs. It was quite obvious that the fishman wasn't going to listen but all she could do was stare with her fixed expression.

That was until Jake had antagonized the negotiations by bringing out his sword, which obviously did not help the situation whatsoever. Hannah released a huge death glare to her new partner but quickly resolved herself after that. The jabs and still seemingly unjustified reasons the fishman gave out began to release a terrible emotion within her stomach, almost wanting her to vomit.

She was slightly glad when the fishman left as it allowed her to exasperate in frustration. "Your hands are no cleaner than the mayor! In fact, dirtier than all of them combined!" She screamed as the fishman shut the door. She then stood up in a furious manner and turned to the sink to wash her cup. "Leave him...there's nothing we can do at this point. You can't mold clay when it's already been glazed." Unfortunately, she had to act quickly as the fishman may already be taking steps to eliminate the next portion of the mayor's family. Though, she had a decent amount of time as the Marines would be heavy on guard of the remaining Baye family, since they would most likely demand protection from any oncoming attacks.

She then turned her head towards the family and Jake and quickly spoke. "I'm changing. Enjoy the food."

She slowly went upstairs and trudged along the steps, silently contemplating. She made her way to the guest room, where she temporarily stayed. Immediately, she began to tear down the zipper that tightened her dress, feeling her upper body loose as she released the constraints. With her casual clothes already hung up from her closet, she snatched it from the hangar and swapped her attire. She then neatly folded her scarlet dress, carefully placing it on the fence of her mattress. Her eyes then widened as she could hear small footsteps approaching her door. Turning around, she could see the pipsqueak and innocent Carol curiously looking at her. Hannah then smiled as she put on her skirt, kneeling down after pulling the attire up to its appropriate spot. "What's up, Carol?"

"...I liked him...Musashi. That fishman, why did you make him angry and leave? He was right! He was a hero!"

Oddly enough, Carol really reminded her of Allen...her previous partner whose age was similar to Carol's. She had been experienced with younger kids and always found them to be adorable. She brought out her knee and allowed Carol to sit on it. She then stroked her hair as she replied. "Well...Carol, sometimes when people aren't satisfied with the majority, it makes them angry I guess. But there really isn't anything wrong with going against the majority. Sometimes, you may think the majority is wrong and it makes you want to leave. But..." She then gave Carol a look before she could speak, silencing her temporarily. "Think of it this way...that bruise you got. If you were able to do anything back to your victim, what would you do?"

"I'd punch her right back in the eye!"

Of course. "So...do you think that would solve the problem?"

"What do you mean...?"

"Let's say you were in her shoes. If she returned a punch right back at you, how would you feel?"

"...Mad, I guess. I'd want to punch her back."

"Exactly. You wouldn't feel happiest in the slightest. You'd only prompt the person to beat you up even more. You'd only make the person angrier. Since there is no restriction to that person, you can't do anything to defend yourself. You'd only be hurting yourself further."

"Well...what's the best solution then? My only option is to sack her back."

"Well..." She stared at the floor as she tried to build the words in a way where Carol could understand. "I would really leave it be. I know she did bad stuff to you, but think about it. Would you feel any better if you punched back at her? With such momentous hate within yourself, I don't think you'd be happy in the slightest. Sometimes, the best answer is to do nothing. But, I fully believe that something like karma will bite her in the ass next time around. For one bad action you do, you'll receive a bad action in return."

Hannah then stood up as she continued to smile at the child. "Don't you worry about it, Carol. It doesn't take violence to be a hero, but rather where no aggravation can be settled between each other. I'll be the one to make sure that she'll pay, just not with violence. We'll get her to be in prison where she'll learn her lesson. I promise."

Carol then looked at her up, somewhat still unsatisfied. However, she then brought out her hand and extended her pinky finger. "Promise? Pinky promise?"

Hannah could only chuckle upon the sight. She also brought out her pinky finger and wrapped it around Carol's tiny finger to seal the deal. "Pinky promise..."

*KNOCK* *KNOCK* *KNOCK*

That came from the front door. Quickly, Hannah's expression changed to a more serious matter as she looked at that direction. ...Did the fish-...no, his name is Musashi, did Musashi want to come back? Perhaps a change of heart? No...knowing the fishman, it couldn't have been possibly that. Quickly, Hannah dashed out of her room and fled down the stairs to check it out. Already, she could see the entire family apprehensively approach the door as they revealed worried glances to Hannah.

"It's the Marines...Hannah. They are looking for you." Ms. Evergreens spoke in a timid voice. Hannah's eyebrows tightened as soon as she heard the awful word. She sighed heavily as she could hear voices behind the door, in what sounded like they were being read privileged rights that the Marines couldn't infringe upon citizens. Hannah then approached the door and declared against the Marine's voice. "Do you have a search warrant?"

Then, another voice emerged, but it sounded familiar. "Ma'm, this isn't a search whatsoever. We will not trespass into your house without any reason."

It was Lieutenant Cook. Hannah found it rather surprising that he respected their rights. Hannah then looked back at the family and gave out an unsure look. No surprise there, the family also gave out a similar expression. She then heaved out a sigh as she reluctantly opened the door. There he was, the Lieutenant, standing majestically like he always does. There were also a handful of Marines behind him, armed with both rifles and notepads. Cook towered over Hannah, his expression looking quite fatigued and frustrated. As Hannah opened the door, he did not hesitate to begin speaking with his stern tone. "You were last seen with the bodyguard, Jake, whom we were supposed to ask some questions to help with our investigation. Do you by any chance happen to know where he is? I certainly don't want to brand another man as a suspect today."

Well, he got straight to the point. Not to mention, he spoke in a very uncontrollable tone, hinting that he has already been made aware of the murder of the mayor. Before Hannah could speak, Cook added on with a solemn tone. "It would be best today...if we were to speak honestly to each other."

This wasn't a demand, but rather it was more of a plea. Hannah could easily pick up on that. She looked back at the family, her perception currently filled with half relief and half afraid. She was relieved due to the fact that they didn't seem to track any trails of the fishman in this building, but also scared that the Marines could be onto something. Making her split second decision on the spot, it wouldn't hurt to reveal his whereabouts as there was no impeding cost to it, as long as the Marines don't take him captive. "Yeah...he's in here."

Signifying that was a motion for the officer to come in, he nodded and entered into the building. He motioned a hand back towards his comrades, signifying that he wanted to respect the family's quarters. He then respectfully nodded towards the family and looked around to locate Jake. Hannah let out another brief sigh of relief as she realized another unforeseen factor. I don't think they're aware of Ms. Evergreen's ex-pirate status. Perhaps she isn't as well known to the Marines.

"Mr. Strix, I'm going to have to ask you to come with us for a bit. We only want to ask some questions."

And the rant was on. A torrent of nonsensical ramblings that were supposed justify his actions. He even had the stomach to criticise their actions and calling them hypocrites. Hypocrite? Admittedly, Jake was not perfect in any way, but he was firm in his beliefs. Solving things by simply adding more death to the circle was not one of them. It was on that point that he and the fishman differed. Jake kept quiet and met the fishmans glare. But deep inside, an explosive response continued to build up. Jake was usually not easy to tick of and very seldomly got angry with anything. But the words the fishman uttered on his way to the door was the straw that broke the camels back.

”To hell with Law! To hell with justice! And to hell with cynics like you!”
*SLAM!*

For a moment Jake stood there
Sat down on one of the chairs around the table and leaned back so that he was staring straight up into the cieling.
*sigh*
Why had it all ended up like this? He found a knothole in the boards above and he continued to stare at it as his thoughts drifted around. And he didn’t react when he heard lieutenant Cooks voice coming from outside, simply noted his precense and continued to look at the knowhole above. But he went back to thinking about the current flow of events and what they should do.

When the lieutenant stepped into the room Jake diverted his attention onto him, and made a gest towards the rest of the chairs around the table.
”If it’s truth you want I suggest that we stay here. Please have a seat and allow me to go first.”

He didn’t take Jakes offer to sit down, he remained where he stood and crossed his arms over his chest. But it was apparent that he was listening.
”As for tonights bombings. You’re probably much more familiar with the situation on this island than me as you’ve been around for a longer period of time. As such you are familiar with the rivalery between the director and the Bayes.”
The lieutnenants eyes narrowed as he caught on to what Jake was implying.
”If you dig around a little as your men investigate you’ll find grounds for this. But that’s where it gets troublesome, or should I say embarassing, for the navy and this island.”
Cooks scepticism couldn’t have been much clearer, while he may have been listening to what Jake said, it didn’t hold any value to whether it was true or not. It would be something he had to figure out himself anyway.

”So it is with the best net result for both in mind of us that I’ll come with a suggestion. And that is that your men focus on finding the fishman that killed the mayor. And meanwhile we’ll search for Mike Bayes who’s currently at large.”
If Cook had looked sceptic earlier, his current appearance made it hard believe he’d take anything anyone said for truth. A slight push would be needed.
”It’s not like you can loose anything, you can even choose to win either way if you catch the fishman, and since we’re outsiders, giving us the chance to find Mike in the meantime wouldn’t affect you as long as the truth remains hidden.”

Musashi had stormed out of the place with a huff. It was within seconds of this that he'd heard the approach of footsoldiers. "Godammit," he would curse under his breath, moving away from the stairs of the establishment and on towards an alleyway. He'd use the haze to his advantage as he snuck away, silently. He'd have left and moved on to a totally different area of town, heading to where the haze was thickest. The monstrous fishman would spend most of that time brewing over that conversation he'd just had. "God damn, did I make an ass of myself," he would mutter, "But if I'd have given ground I'd drag those idiots into cleaning up my own mess."

"Which idiots?" spoke a voice, totally new to Musashi. He'd turn around and speak up, "I doubt that's any of your business. And here I thought my stealth was imperceivable in this kind of location." "Nothing escapes me, The Eye." From the haze emerged another male form, followed by a small gang of men with bats and chains wrapped around their wrists strategically. "Plus, it is a great deal of my business. I need to eliminate anyone who can lead this to Mike Baye, and then I need to use my new freedom of movement to take over this city once and for all!" declared The Eye, who appeared to be a man, tall and lanky, wearing superhero spandex and a potato sack on his head, which had a circle with a dot in the middle painted in bold red on the front.

"How do you see?" Musashi would ask, before music randomly started playing in the background. "With my super sentai powers of course!" Musashi, of course, was very lost, "Eh? Well unfortunately for that Baye guy, I'm no longer the only one who knows his game. I told some civilians, and they've probably told the marines by now, so I hope you've been paid off in advance, bro."

The Eye laughed uproariously, "I know! I know oh so well! I've sent my friends Senteye Blue and Pink to deal with those chumps at the house. Senteye Green and Yellow should be handling the marines very nicely." Off in the distance a few loud explosions went off in sequence. "Sentai, you're saying it weird... Wait... Does that make you..." "Indeed! The Eye, is none other than the glorious leader of the World-Class Super Sentai team who's name shakes the very heavens, Senteye Red!!!" an explosion went off behind him causing some stereotypical sentai flair, although that was a real bomb!

Musashi's would blink a bit, "You're the guys who hooked the bombs up everywhere then? And that freedom of movement is going to be because they're blaming the bombings on me." "Yes indeed! And all we need to do is eliminate you, and make you disappear, and all the bombings will forever be your fault! Nobody will ever think, 'well hey, what about Charles, Ed, Sandy, Todd, or Freddy, who hook up the pyrotechnics at theaters for a living?' it will always be, 'That damned fishman's at it again! Why won't he pick on someone his own size?'! Kyahahahaa!" laughed Senteye Red.

"Is anyone here not an idiot?" Musashi would question. Drawing his blades, whirling them a bit, he would continue, "Now I've got 3 more people on my to kill list." With that the man would throw a bomb at Musashi, which would bounce off his chest and onto the ground. Musashi stared at it, before picking it up, pulling the pin, and chucking it back at him. An explosion went off, blowing away and scorching all of the gangsters and knocking forth Senteye Red. Mushi caught the man by his spandex shirt, and reeled him up to his height. "I tell you what, I'm sick of bombs, how about we settle this with our blades," he would say. "I-I don't have a blade," spoke the sentai wannabe.

"Bull shit you don't," Musashi would declare, slashing him brutally with 7 swords. Senteye Red would fall to his feet as Musashi released him, dropping the dagger he was holding behind his back and then slumping over. Musashi would then disappear into the haze once more as some Marines that were searching for him nearby approached the alley he was in.

A few meters away, Musashi would be watching, before turning to escape. "The sentai guy found me so I must be on the right track," he would mutter to himself grumpily, "Fucking idiots. The haze must be going to their heads. I hope those idiots at the house are okay..."

Hannah slightly raised her eyebrows as she heard out the tone to be rather empowering as he wanted to take control of the conversation. It was rather interesting at how the center of focus quickly turned from Jake to the lieutenant himself and Cook did not seem like he wanted it to steer that way. Hannah slowly nodded to the ability of how Jake could simply turn a conversation.

She could tell that the lieutenant wanted to stay resolved in his stance, but she could sense a feeling of reluctance from the lieutenant as he was initially hesitant in disagreeing with Jake. Regardless, the lieutenant regained his composure and heaved out a sigh after Jake finished speaking as he looked down at him. "How can you say that to a family whose father just got murdered by the man who was responsible for the bombing of a theatre? Not to mention, the mayor! We've done enough investigating to know that this fishman is only here to make a mess out of our island and we can't just sit idly around here throwing accusations while we got greater evil to take down!"

"What?" Hannah spouted out.

The lieutenant then walked towards the window and opened the blinds that covered the streets. He then pointed outside towards a group of people that were behind the Marines, all heavily secured by a circle of guards. Hannah's heart sunk as she all of the family members were present. There was the daughter Karen Baye, who had her arms crossed and revealed a grumpy expression of distaste. There was Michael Baye, who silently observed the building with a casual face. And then...there was the son Lucas Baye, whom Hannah quickly recognized as the man who they apprehended before they came to the house.

There they were...the group of people responsible for all the murders, protected by the Marines for the wrong reason. The Marines have already consulted with the Bayes. They had most likely already convinced the Marines of their side of the story. This was going to be difficult. And there was nothing they could do about it to persuade them otherwise due to Musashi's mess, unless hard concrete evidence was provided to them, in which Hannah unfortunately did not have. As a result, Hannah kept her mouth zipped as she processed the current situation. Though, viewing the family gave her a tumultuous feeling of anger within her.

The lieutenant then looked towards Jake and spoke in a gentle, but condescending tone. "Care to explain your accusation to them?"

A particularly annoying sensation flowed through his being, his fists starting to tense up and clench as he looked upon the scene. From a nearby alleyway, Musashi was spying upon the stately manor that was Mike Baye's abode. He would only be so annoyed because of how surrounded by marine presence it was. He'd whisper to himself, "You're shitting me..." Of course, this whole situation, was in fact not shitting him, and he was looking at 20+ marines, waltzing around like they owned the place, which they may have for witness protection purposes. "Alright then, if that's how it's going to be, I could just leave this place high and dry. I bet their boats are less guarded than this place..."

The monstrous fishman would remove the thought from his mind, since that would entail letting a family of felons go unpunished. He didn't have much more time to think about it either, the longer Mike Baye had, the easier it would be on him to clean up the mess for his niece and nephew. Without any second thoughts about it, he would proceed to utilize his Phantasm Waltz to maneuver around the Marines, flowing like a silent river around them. This brought him aback, to a better time... For him at least.

Flashback

Sand was billowing around the small troupe of gentlemen. Clad in turbans, scarves, light leather plating, this squadron of Alabastan royal knights was finally about to see some action. The rebel insurgency had taken refuge in a sizable dune valley a few miles outside the capital city. Leading this squadron was Musashi's teacher of the Alabastan arts and culture, Saluja "The Phantom Ghost". That said, it was a stealth mission, so Musashi was testing out his stealth skills.

"Geez the sand keeps getting in my eyes!" complained the fishman in desert armor. His teacher would huff, and reach back to him holding a spare set of goggles to Musashi, "Here, I thought I told you to have goggles everywhere you go." "Sorry, sensei," responded the eight-armed desert knight, taking the goggles and getting them on his head. "I also told you that once we complete this order, and take out the rebels, you're officially a knight, so you can stop calling me sensei, teacher, sifu and whatnot. Call me by my codename," Saluja ordered. "A-alright... Spectre..."

Up ahead were some guards, dressed like rebels, "Hold up!" Spectre would stop the troupe, billowy winds masking his voice from the foes only a dozen or two meters away. Suddenly, "The Phantom Ghost" performed the feat yet again that made him a local legend, that being somehow turning invisible with pure skill alone. A few moments later, he'd return, "Confirmed. Rebel camp in the dune valley ahead. This is our big day. Take them out before they can call for help over the Den Den Mushi." Musashi would nod, taking a slightly odd stance with his feet, whispering, "Alright."

Then all at once, the troupe of stealthy desert knights would disappear onto the sand storm...

End Flashback

Everything was so much easier back whenever he was able to simply let his higher ups tell him what to do and he'd easily agree with their course of action. It was all a big game of chess appropriately punishing criminals nowadays, trials, juries. If you broke the law, you broke the law, after all. It shouldn't matter how you were punished. Then again, Musashi was being one hell of a hypocrite, seeing how his actions were against the law already. He pondered how the pitiful world government would oppose his actions... Entering into the manor past the marines, who were thankfully all tired as hell from a day of searching and guarding nonstop, Musashi would make it into the grand lobby or whatever the front door was called.

A bullet whizzed past his head, from was sounded like a silenced pistol. It wasn't loud or anything, but they may as well call it a muffler instead of silencer. A shell casing pinged against the ground. "Thought so, your princess is in another castle, my friend," spoke a voice from beyond the haze, coming from a silhouette. Musashi approached towards this voice, "Then which castle should I be looking for?"

For a split second Jake thought he’d managed to sow a seed that could perhaps grow and become something usefull. But that hope was quickly crumbeled away as Cook shifted from inquiring to eing distant. The shift; and the words that came out of his mouth were so unexpected that Jake failed to register it, and what came thereafter made so little sense that Jake wondered if he had misheard the whole thing.

Though he was quickly proven wrong when he followed the lieutenant over to the window and looked out at where Cook was pointing, and he was just shocked as he caught sight of it. They were all standing there, the Bayes, alongside the marines. Even the now smug face Lucas Baye was present, and suddenly the situation lined up with what Cook had been saying.

”You...”
Even if Jake had wanted to he would have been completely unable to hide his disgust and the word had the same tone as the foulest of curses. ”You can’t be serious about this. There’s no way you could actually believe that nonsense, why are you siding with them?” Cook didn’t even seem to hear him, payed him no heed, keeping his gaze fixed on the scene outside. Something which made Jakes anger spike even further, and he decided to take a shot at the lieutenant. ”Did you sell yourself to the them? Are you just gonna take this lying down, where’s your damn pride as a marine!?” The silence that followed was loaded with tension, though Cook had barely moved the atmosphere he gave of had changed. He’d turned slightly away from the window and glared at Jake who gladed back.

As their eyes met it was easy to see that Cook was was very angry. But his anger seemed frail and was not directed at Jake. And Jake immediately regretted saying, or rather yelling the thing he just had, as he remembered the sad truth of human weakness. Just as everybody else, Cook was weak, he let himself be swayed. Jake was weak too, he knew that quite well. Weak in the sense that though he wanted he was unble to make a differense, to do what he though was right. It was a part of himself he hated, and all the more when it caused others to suffer. The differense was that despite the weakness, doing nothing was never not an option an option to Jake. So he turned away from Cook and made his way towards the front door.

As it would stand, Musashi was a few feet away from a well-armed individual who was, like him, a master of stealth combat. This is not bode well for him, since he only picked up stealth mixed with combat within the last year, whereas this man had both range and experience on him. So what would Musashi do? That was easy, he would abuse this man's big mouth... After all, if he was willing to introduce himself, he was willing to give away his position word by word. The monstrous fishman would begin asking questions, waiting for a response, "Then which castle should I be looking for?"

The man who was a silhouette saw that he was being approached, and immediately faded into the haze, "The marines are protecting them, I'm just here to make sure you don't get that far." The man's voice sounded like it was coming from a number of different directions, which was an interesting tactic, since they were all at once. "Nice voice trick, where'd you learn it?" Musashi would ask, drawing all of his swords at once and strategically waving them in whirling waves around himself. Another shot was fired, and it would ping off of his mambele and then plucked into a nearby wall.

Could the monstrous fishman read the trajectory just from the mannerism his swords vibrated in? No, he was simply using the formation of his swords swirling and waving around him to have decent odds of the man simply pinging the bullets off of him. "I ate the Eko Eko no Mi and am an echoman. I can make any sound echo at will, making my voice capable of coming from anywhere," spoke the haze-stealthed gunman. The voice was echoing, yet it seemed to be coming more from in front of him. Probably because there was a wall, but still. "Pretty lame for a devil fruit, but even still," he would say walking forward some more. The trick here was that Musashi wasn't being stealthy and making sure that the man full well knew his location. This was primarily to ensure that he wasn't paying attention to his positioning more than where he was.

Another gunshot, another ping, Musashi was now sweating, as the gunshot was only lightly parried off the blade and plunged just past him on roughly the same trajectory. He sure hoped he was right about this, "I don't believe you." With that he would reach forward and take hold of something that was hidden by the haze and shadow. He would pull it to him and look at it... A walkie talkie! "Heh, I knew it," with that he would push the button down and scream into it at the top of his lungs. The rest of the radios would mimick the sound at full volume into the center of the room, and especially into the ear unit the man was wearing. The man gripped his ear and let out a sharp cry, before yanking out his end of the walkie talkie.

Musashi had a clear read on him now, and charged towards him with Phantasm Waltz active, absolute silence to his footsteps. Without a second thought he would crank his arms into a circle around him, he would unleash a veritable buzzsaw of blades, cutting deep into the stealthy liar's body and letting blood spout from him. The man would lift off of the ground and go flying, hitting the ground some 5 feet backwards from his original position. The man wasn't dead, but he was down. "If only the mayor was as tough as you... I'd be in less deep of shit..." Musashi would complain walking away. The man would let out something of a croak, and then seemed to give up, before chuckling a bit... "Hey buddy, I'm no marine or anything, just want you to know... those Walkie Talkies are connected to the marines on a one-way track. Have fun with that... Ugh"

The monstrous fishman did not pay him any mind as he went to seek out the marines that were protecting Mike Baye.

Jake had made it all the way to the front door and was about to open it when a heavy hand landed on his shoulder. He turned slightly to see who it was though he already knew. It was Cook, and he seemed to have toughened up a bit. The hand on Jakes shoulder formed an grip as firm as solid and tight as a vise.
”I can’t let you do that.”
Jake feigned ignorance, knowing fully well what Cook meant.
”Do what?”
The act was quite obvious to all. The angry feature returned to Cooks face and he sputtered at Jake
”I can’t let you lay hand on the Bayes.”
The tightened grip on Jakes shoulder made it clear that he wasn’t going anywhere until he gave in to Cooks demand. A moment passed as Jake met indignant look, remaining indifferent. But he gave Cook what he wanted in the form of a short nod, before reaching up to the front pocket on Cooks coat and took the walkie-talkied which he had fastened there.
”I’ll be borowing this.”
Another moment passed and a sceptical wrinkle appeared on Cooks forhead as he tried to discern Jakes motives, but he didn’t object and slowly released his grip of Jakes shoulder.

Without further ado, Jake turned towards the door again, opened it and stepped out onto the front porch. he looked over at where the Bayes where standing, locked eyes with Lucas Bayne over the heads of the marines and gave him a ’I know what you’re up to’ nod. The smile on Lucas face tensed for a moment and he leaned over to his uncle to whisper something. A gap opened in the row of marines as Jake made his way down the stairs and started walking down the street, back towards the center of the city, and the theatre. It wasn’t that he had any real business there, he was just out to provoke.

Musashi would be stalking towards the marine base for a while, until he thought of something that made him feel rather idiotic for not realizing before. The monstrous fishman thought to himself, 'Hang on a second... why in the hell would the people who are being hunted by a crazed murderer out to deliver unto them their justice leave themselves in the hands of the inept marines at the base when the ones stationed at Mayor's estate were inept enough to let said murderer in and kill the guy?' Obviously, he couldn't think of anything near a good enough reason, so he had to think about who they would trust their lives to in order to survive his wrath. It would have to be somebody with a really take-charge personality, with a lot of power and skill, who wasn't afraid of someone likely multiple feet taller than him with a racial advantage including general strength, the ability to breathe underwater, as well as 6 more arms.

"Cook..." Musashi would realize aloud, breaking his stealth. Thinking back to that one marine guy who he basically outright denied any power over him to, the marine lieutenant in charge of the island's forces. The man was a very take-charge individual for certain, and because of that, it was highly unlikely he earned his title through deskwork. Suddenly the sound of marching footsteps would be heard approaching him, along with the telltale sound of muskets on straps being handled all of a sudden. Musashi had to clam up and slipped himself into a dumpster in the alleyway he was in. Immediately he returned to thinking, quietly this time, 'Must have entered a quarantine zone or something, the guards here are on high alert.' Of course, since the monstrous humanoid boxer crab was taking the most obvious approach to hiding ever, it wouldn't be long enough for a second thought before a marine opened the lid of the dumpster with the barrel of their musket.

Musashi would pop out of the dumpster and spin rapidly with his blades out, cutting that marine and the others surrounding him. Before they could react, he would plant a foot on the edge of the dumpster, and basically fired himself upwards at the nearest roof, grabbing onto the ledge and pulling himself up, rolling onto the roof as bullets almost grazed him. 'Fuckers are on point, a half-second of hesitation and I'd have a bullet wound to worry about...' He would quit thinking and start moving along, silently with his stealth maneuver. Obviously he knew that he was running out of time, he only hoped that Cook was still attempting to intimidate information from the ex-pirate family and the jerks at the house.

Several minutes of top speed power walking and skulking later, he would arrive on the roof of a nearby building to his destination, peering down upon a scene he did not expect. Certainly had he waited a little bit he'd have found the target, but what he was viewing was something a bit interesting... That jerk from earlier... Jake? Whatever his name was, the man was being allowed to approach his targets. The whole family was there, he could take them out in a second and then escape before Cook could even get outside. He at the very least had to give Jake a chance. The monstrous fishman would watch the scene with eyes like a hawk, slipping his goggles on so that he wouldn't miss a thing. 'One way or another... Justice will be served...' he would think to himself, silently plotting three murders and then an escape route.

The little parley that the guy was establishing for himself was getting them nowhere. This Lucas guy seemed like he would crack easily under enough pressure, though this upper hand he had was obviously too much for Jake to make up for with words alone. Musashi would huff a bit, thinking about how this could all be resolved with a little blade-on-throat action. Then he would consider for a few moments, what was really stopping him? Did he care at all what the world government thought of his actions? Not really, no, if they weren't going to deliver justice to those who deserve it, then who was? Did he care what Jake or Hannah thought? No, those guys, while more understanding than the marines were making themselves out to be, were still jerks to him last he spoke to them.

The folks below were performing the perfect frame job, and Musashi was about to get a pretty hefty bounty even if he just left it alone. Killing political figures, especially ones who were liked by the populace, was a enough to get his fishy ass locked in jail for a good and long time. But that was just it, could they pull that much off? Musashi's pride as a knight was being put into question now. The boxer crab fishman was certain that these marines wouldn't be able to do much in the way of stopping him, except maybe the toughest guy amongst them, who was admittedly, Lt. Cook.

The monstrous fishman would huff a bit, he didn't like the cut of that guy's jib. He was no fun, very to the point and direct. Cook was only corrupt because enough propaganda and lies were told to him when the truth was locked from his gaze. That made him one of those straight shooters that if he left alone, he was bound to see once more, in a higher position. Shaking his head, his thoughts began to narrow... He had decided to kill the Bayes, but now it was a matter of how. He'd had several plans on the way to most effectively end their lives, the issue instead lied in the fact that they were surrounded by marines looking in towards them. He could cut down the marines, but that wasn't a good enough way to escape, if any of them had sufficient fight in them to hold him off for even an instant, he'd run the risk of having to clash with the Lieutenant. Clashes of that caliber were never a 100% thing.

So he had to go the other escape path.

Musashi would take aim and with great silence, he would leap from the building, several meters forward. The happily protected family would be nicely positioned in a neat triangle of sorts. As he would descend upon the targets, he would unsheathe his numerous blades and angle and cross them all at odd ends and angles. Six blades equaled six cuts, or three sure-kills when it came to untrained civilian folk. Two angled down, two angled left, and two angled right. His feet contacted with the first mark, known as Lucas, forcing the man to the ground and crushing him with his weight, as Musashi would reel in his legs to mitigate momentum and force it all into his target.

Before the remaining Bayes knew what was going on, his blades would uncross with precision for the kill, Lucas was the easiest, quick blades through the neck solved his issues really quickly. The others received nearly symmetrical and deep wounds, made only worse by the fact that each blade had a unique inwards curvature which would ravage their wounds and anything that happened to get caught along the way.

The victims, having been neatly lined up, all fell over in a neat and orderly mannerism.

Musashi wasted no further time with these jackasses, and immediately plunged one of his blades in the crack between a manhole cover and the hole it covered. Sewers were disgusting, but better than a long, hard lathe through a bloody field of soldiers. Prying, the manhole popped open, and Musashi would reel in his arms to lay across his chest, and hopped down the manhole, the hole slamming shut but a second or two later.

Gripping the obligatory ladder, he would slide down at a rapid, pace, and begin to head in the last known direction of the docks, his escape began under the smelly dark cover of the Karaoke sewers.

Musashi was not well versed in the layout of the sewers, so his trip was bound to be less successful than he intended, especially since he didn't want to swim in the fecal-matter infected fluid that flowed inches away. This was made worse still by the marines descending down into the sewers. They had no concept of stealth, openly blabbering about how much it reeked down here. This was what he used to guide himself around them and he figured out roughly which way he was going by the contents of the complaints.

Eventually this lead him to locating the docks. Ever prepared, he would begin climbing the ladder up to the surface, 4 blades unsheathed and ready to fight with whomever he found topside. The monstrous fishman was almost grinning with the anticipation for getting out of this shithole of a town. Politics would kill him here if he marines didn't. Pushing the manhole cover at the top of the ladder up with one of his ladder climbing hands, he would peer out to see that there was nobody immediately nearby. Maybe they thought he was going to kill grandma Bayes or something. Knowing the modus operandi of the Bayes, Karen or Lucas probably had Mike mess with the electronics in her house, to make it burn it down when they ring the doorbell. No witnesses or something.

"Well that's what she gets for letting Mike Baye fuck with transformers or whatever," he would say to himself, climbing out and getting to the docks nearby. Under the cover of the light haze, he would begin to steal a small sailing vessel to escape this island. Untying the rope from the nearest dinghy big enough for him, he would get situated in the boat, and push away from shore. "How long until they start to send ships I wonder? A few minutes? A few days?" Musashi would ponder, staring up at the hazy sky. It was dark but red at the same time. A truly beautiful sight to see, probably the best thing he'd seen all day. Suddenly a voice would pop up, familiar, but distressing at the same time. "Probably a few hours, if I understand their system right." "Carol? Why are you here?" "Well I wasn't about to just let you go on the run all alone! That would be boring!" "No, no no no! You need to get back to your parents!" "Psshaw! As if I didn't ask for permission first." "What?" "Oh yeah, I'm gonna be a part of your crew now. Carol Evergreen, chef extraordaire! Heehee~!" "This can't be happening..."

Seeing how he couldn't just turn the boat around and march Carol back to her house, Musashi would resign to the fact that he was in for a long, long boat ride. Their conversation continued ad nauseum and beyond.
