NPCs don't have traits or trait caps anymore so your first two questions are moot. Read the direct quote from the rules page I listed above. Traits define your character. They do not define some random NPC. They define your character. See answer above. Your NPC can be significant to your character's combat potential, but there have to be set limits. OPRP set the limits where it has. You can champion to try and change these limits but it'll be an uphill battle. Good luck. |

Since traits no longer give a character power I guess you wouldn't mind giving up every last trait on every one of your characters, then. Find me one trait on the entire list that doesn't give some form of power. Go ahead. Go look for one. Stop reading this and find one trait that doesn't give "Power" in some form. When you find that trait then you can maybe perhaps argue that traits don't give power, even when 99.9999999% of the other ones do. Protip: There isn't a single trait on the list that doesn't give some veritable form of power. |

From day 1, player npc were supposed to be second rate to pc--always. I was told, practically word for word, that even if a player's npc reached it's max stats it would still lose to a starter pc. This was years back. When people were rp'ing otherwise, well. Npc traits and stats had to go. [Totally not what happen but close enough.] Anyways, this is the kind of mindset you have to fight. Best wishes in your endeavors~ Edited by Spunky Misunderstood Genius, Jan 4 2015, 10:29 AM.

im talking about how does a trait give a npc power im pretty sure no npc will be causing significant harm to anyone pc wise even if they had 7 traits worth of "power" because everything here is based on technique rank and sd which npcs don't get |
