He seemed a bit relieved that Haru was alright, before blinking at her words and arching a brow slowly as she started to scramble about as he turned. Slowly blinking even more, before he started to softly laugh at her expense, rubbing his face as he moved toward her and reached around, grabbing her coat and tugging it form her grasp before draping it over her shoulders and buttoning it up- at least covering her entire upper-half and only leaving her legs exposed. "Go get some cloths on if its bothering yah'. I got it from here." He amended gently, patting her head at her embarrassment as he would turn and eye the dead bodies as those alive began to awaken.

After he was sure they were all awake his voice was calm and cold, "All of my soldiers- we won! The civilians are completely safe, and the priests are defeated." The weak tired cheers were still earnest as the marines grinned, proud that they managed to defeat them. As the priests glared at them, unable to say anything through their gags and bonds. Gin's voice grew colder as he next spoke, "To the priests ... you're leader is dead, as are many of your followers. You are welcome to blame me for this, or you can think on it- and realize that if your beliefs were true your 'gods prophet' wouldn't be dead."

They blinked at this, before he continued. "You will be placed in prison. We will treat you humanely, and if you truly try you will be forgiven and put on house arrest within the outpost with two marines watching over you at all times, before we know we can trust you- and let you live out normal lives here." The seemed bemused by this- or many did, after all they did he was still offering them a way out of this mess? Of course it would take many years likely, but it was still unheard of. The government usually just sentenced you to death and left it at that. He glanced at his men and frowned, "Form ranks and get them in- leave the dead. We'll do cleanup and burn the bodies once the living are taken care of."

He eyed those that were now stable but injured, "Those that are injured- strait to the medical wing. Myself and the medical team will tend to you- now get to it!" He clapped once, and with several groans those that were mostly fine began to haul the prisoners back- those that were severely injured or moderately so got themselves to the medical wing. He himself quickly moved to the rooms, filling Haruka in before he would do a quick cleaning- if he was going to be performing surgeries and such he needed to be completely clean after all. After showering he tossed on his medical slacks and doctors coat, calling to Haruka. "Help them deal with the prisoners, please! Get them situated, food, water, cleaned, steel cuffs on all limbs. You're in charge until I know everyone is treated." He stated as he rushed toward the hospital.

Muttering under his breath as he went, he grabbed the surgeons mask and tugged it on as he rushed in- there were three doctors including himself, roughly five that were injured. "If it isn't life threatening, get to the side! Make sure a nurse tells you if it is or not- don't go by your own judgement!" The nurses quickly got it organized, three had moderate injuries that needed treated- but not immediately. The other two were not so lucky, with bullets buried in their torso and stomach's respectfully. As he moved toward the one with it in the stomach as the other two worked on the more complex lung injury- he drew the scalpel and began. It was going to be a long morning.

Still rubbing her forehead which was a bit sore from slamming into the ground. Haruka would only stare a bit dumbly as Gin would not only her up, but he would assist her in what she wanted to do, which was remain covered, both for her own decency as well as her sensitive skin. With how the sun would burn her, that was a concern, equal to the stares she would get from the men and some women who saw her and wonder why she hid behind her jacket all the time. "I-I....rushed out....no clothes....sleeping attire." She hated this and her tone suggested it, though not angry she would be whining like a child. Her eye's still on the verge of tearing up from the embarrassment as she did her best to leave. Stumbling her words without coherent flow, she would slowly move away from the scene as she was excused to do so.

Once away from the others, she would change her method of moving from that awkward waddle to a full fledged sprint, running through to the barracks and practically kicking her door down and slamming it shut right after her. The speed and such would almost seem like one whom had done something wrong and was hiding to avoid the repercussions of it. She would even find herself with her back up against the door as if to hold it shut from someone who would try and open it. Though when her heart would calm down, she would go about getting her clothes. The entire time, as she put on her pants, put on her boots, she would curse with each article about how she could have been do foolish. She knew why, and it being the fact that the cannon fire had scared her to action. Still, she hated how she had ran out like that, and only after the fight, realized it.

With a sigh, and putting on the best face of bravery she could, Haruka would re-emerge from her room, fully dressed where she would go on to meet with Gin. She naturally, still blushing a bit at what he could have seen, would be acting a bit sheepish around him, timid as she fidgeted alot in place whilist he gave her the command. "Y-yes..." She would practically whisper as she turned and made her way for the others whom had already began gathering Prisoners. She too would join the fray, rather quiet as she did so.

Ginjo poked her nose before he rushed off, calling over his shoulder simply- "Stop being silly! It's not like I haven't seen what you have before, Haru. It's just a body, you're pretty- stop it and focus." He offered her a grin before he had dashed off for the medical wing. It took quite a while to get everything settled- hours of surgery as they tended to the severely wounded and then those with more minor wounds, the work ticked by until finally- three hours later, Ginjo stepped out. Slowly peeling off sweat and blood-coated jacket and gloves as he sighed and tiredly rubbed his face- moving out of the building as he tossed it into the laundry and trash.

Blinking as he got out, he was greeted with the smell of burned flesh and hair, and holding his nose he sighed- looking toward the burning pile in distaste before he spotted Haruka giving orders to finish up to ill task. He regretted asking her to handle it all, but at the same time knew that he was needed to save lives in the medical wing- it was just how it was, he mused this to himself as he headed down the steps of the building and moved toward her. "Everything go alright ...?" He asked with a frown, looking tired- mostly mentally, performing surgery was stressful, it was a known fact. Having someones life in your hands when your trying to save them is much harder to deal with mentally then the same- but ending their life is what's on your mind instead.

Sadly that was just human nature. He was certainly wishing it was the other way around right now, "We managed to save those that were injured. They'll be transferred to cells once their stable- for now we got them tied down and knocked unconscious." He explained in a tired voice as his eyes moved toward the burning pile in the distance with a frown, "Such a goddamn waste ..." He sighed a bit, depressed at the idea of how many were killed. Still, the fact they had saved the innocents was good- and perhaps the priests would drop their twisted religion and, with time, manage to re-join normal society once this was all said and done. That of course though, would be a likely long and painful process.

Chuckling softly, in a dry manner he eyed her. "Well, that was certainly a hell of a training session for the day, hum?" He asked as he rubbed his temple a bit, shaking his head. "We should probably get rest, it's still early really but with all this we need it ... especially if we're going to keep on training. You've gotten alot stronger- you managed to keep your feet after my Haki ... hell, you even fought two on one against guys twice as strong as those that were beating you to a pulp before." His grin grew as he ruffled her hair, and said with confidence- and a shine of congratulations in his tone. "I'm proud of you. You're proving me right, you're going to be one hell of a marine." His grin only grew at this choice of wording, as he knew she was destined to be just that- a great marine.

Gin's words of kindness to her would only make her blush with a bit more intensity, it was something she had never gotten before. Having always hidden behind her clothes to protect her skin, most of the time only her eyes visible, not many knew what her face looked like, much less her body. So to be told that she was "pretty" was a new one on her, and one that left her even more sheepish. "I-I'm sorry!" She would apologize quickly and awkwardly as she bowed her head to him before he would leave for the medical wing. This of course left her to tend to the other matters, and she would do it in an orderly fashion. Granted most of her first commands had come from a weakened and still embarrassed voice, though with time as her mind began to focus, she going through the motions with the others, she would slowly get a bit more assertive, her mind off that matter for the time being.

Of course, this would leave her with the more difficult of the tasks to see through, gathering the dead. Unwilling to let the others stain themselves, she would put this task solely on herself, having them take care of everything else with a watchful eye from her. She taking periodic breaks to go check in the holding cells to ensure that everything had been carried out, food and water for their prisoners that didn't need immediate medical attention. By the last body, Haruka's clothes, freshly put onto her body, as well as her hands, pants and even a few speckles on her cheek would be stained with the blood of the deceased. She having drug their bodies one by one, saying a small apology for each one as they would be tossed unceremoniously on top of one another. A good amount of gas tossed onto the large pile and a flick of a match would be all that needed to be done. A long breath escaping her lips the moment the match left her finger tips as a sense of remorse hit her.

The entire time she watched those bodies burn, her eyes would never blink, and a look of sadness never left her face. What Gin would say soon after arriving would be accurate, this would be a waste. The large fire reminding her of home in a way, the large bonfires they had, the smell of cooking flesh, burned hair. It wasn't unfamiliar to her as many outsiders experienced such a fate....though they were alive when it started. She would only nod when he mentioned the condition of the ones in the medical bay, she turning to face him shortly after, giving him a full view of her and the blood she spared the others from. "It's hard to just extinguish someone's life, their existence from this world..." She would comment quietly as she continued to watch the bodies burn. She would offer a weak smile as he would compliment her more, on her growing strength, the greatness he saw in her. Today though tested her, and her commitment, she would pass but it did take it's toll on her. "You go on ahead, I think I'm going to go check on the civilians, and the crew....I...I don't want to be by myself right now, not after this." She would say in a pained tone, pointing a finger at the burning mass in front of them. It was sickening to about ever sense the body provided and she knew she would have nightmares over it.

He frowned a bit at her words and would ruffle her hair with a nod, "I understand. I'll be in my room in you need me, alright ...? Try not to dwell on this. It'll only make it worse." He murmured gently, before turning and heading into the outposts main quarters once more, slowly his steps found him not moving toward the actual rooms, but past them and toward the turrets where he slowly leaned against the stone- his eyes carefully looking over the waves that crashed against the beach and stone of the shore. Rubbing the bridge of his nose as he sighed- there was no blaming anyone for this, it was humanity incarnate, to grasp onto things and dedicate themselves to it.

In this case, and many other cases it was just such a negative influence on them they could barely be considered humans anymore. The power of humanity was in its ability to choose- something no other species had, it saddened him when that choice was tainted by outward sources. Taking his gaze from the shoreline, he instead glanced toward the Den Den Mushi that began to ring softly from his desk. Peroperoperoperopero ... Ka-chak. As Ginjo lifted it and tiredly answered, "Commander, Ginjo Xoi speaking. Whom am I speaking too?" After a few pauses a chuckling voice came out, his fathers. "Heya' kiddo. Commander huh, already? You'll pass up Tet within a few years if this keeps up."

Ginjo stared in shock, and then slowly his grin widened, "Dad! Where are you? Why the call all of a sudden, are you alright?" There was soft chuckled and some coughing, causing Ginjo to frown a bit. "Yes, we're just fine. You're mother is here as well- we just wanted to call, see how you were doing- let you know we love you." Ginjo's frown slowly increased, "Dad, are you alright? You're coughing alot." The deeper voice chuckled once more- and he could practically picture his old man's smile he carried constantly. "I'm fine kiddo. Listen, I want you to know that I'm proud of you- alright? Me and your mother got hunted down, but we escaped just fine. We can handle ourselves so don't worry about us, but just know we won't be able to talk to much after this- alright?"

Ginjo frowned a bit, "Alright ... is Mom ok?" A simple mm-hm was his response, before a sigh. "Alright. We have to get off now- your mother says she loves you, and so do I. Be safe, keep strong and keep going kid. We'll call you whenever we can." Ginjo blinked in confusion and slowly nodded, "Alright dad- be safe." The clack of the phone ended and he frowned as he rubbed the back of his neck and meandered toward bed- they had been hunted but were safe. That was all that mattered, sighing he drifted into bed- to sleep, where his dreams were haunted by the corrupt marines of the government he served ending his families lives, one after the other. Twisting, turning and dripping in a cold sweat throughout the night.

He had no idea on the other end of the line, Tsukai lay there holding his dead wife- eyes slowly fogging up from the hole in his chest as he had another weak coughing fit. Ginjo was still fine ... their hunting was nothing connected to his son ... he could die in peace.

She would nod her head as Gin ruffled her hair with his words to warning to her before the two separated for the time being. Truth be told, she knew that he was right, she shouldn't dwell on it, but it was a hard thing to do when it hit so close to home for her. Regardless, she would do as she had intended, going around to look for the civilians and checking on a few of the others as she had made her rounds. All seemed right, but she would make her way for one person in particular amongst their ranks outside of Kaji, and that would be one of the newer recruits they had picked up. A smaller woman around her age, one of the grunts whom the two just sort of had an instant chemistry even given different personalities. Where as Haru was so caring, and loving, she just was not that in the least. It did come with the territory however as this was one of their scouts, an assassin for the Marine's who specializes in stealth and picking people off one at a time. A practice which always led to death would mold someone like that. It would only take Haru a few moments to be standing in front of a door and a few knocks later the door would open. Hello, Raven."

Haru hadn't even been sure of what the woman's actual name was, she always using a code name of some sort. Still, what stood in front of her was a woman who stood just over five feet tall. still dressed in her combat attire, mostly black in color, her hood up with only her bangs showing and those icy blue eyes staring back at her. Wordlessly, she would be allowed entrance and this woman would move away from the door, allowing Haru to walk in and close it behind her. She taking an immediate seat back at the table she had been at before her guest arrived. Her Mask, something of a black biohazard mask which hid her face entirely when on, it sat on the table in front of her along with a bottle of rum and a glass sitting next to it. Haru would be left for a moment to just stand in place, looking at "Raven" whom sat in place, looking as emotionless as ever. She wouldn't be able to muster anything out, not even a hello, or a reason why she was here. For some reason, Haru just seemed to freeze when things came back to a central point of what was going on in her head.

"Not so easy, is it." She would speak, seemingly reading Haruka's face. After all, it wasn't like she wasn't aware of what she had done, Haru was above her in the chain of command and had been given the order to not assist her in this deed. "You'd never make it in my line of work, you damned cat." Raven would speak once more in her usual aggressive tone. She taking a moment to look away from Haru just long enough to pour herself a shot of rum before downing it rather quickly. This just left Haru to stare a bit dumbly at her before a frown overtook her. She knew this woman was right, Haru wasn't much of a killer, she could do it if needed, but to see what she did today, she didn't have the stomach for it. "I'm not going for Cipher Pol either like you are. I just want to help people." She would try and counterpoint to her, though all she earned was a shrug of Raven's shoulders, the woman clearly not impressed by that statement.

"So why talk to me, isn't the Captain more understanding to that idea, why talk to a killer for hire?" It was a bit odd, even to Haru right now as she considered it, but she did have her reasons for being here. Though it would take an awkward amount of fidgeting before she would finally work up the courage to go through with what she wanted to ask. "How do you do it? How did you work past the guilt from these things?" The look on Haruka's face, the desperation for an out. All it showed Raven who would let out a sigh as she contemplated how to answer that was she would be in for a long night of discussion with an unusually chatty Harucat.

Days later, Ginjo finally seemed to have gotten everything back to normal around the base with Haruka's help. Able to finally deal with the never-ending bodies, they were burned and spread inland for fertilizing the plant-life, finally- there seemed to be some more time to actually have some sort of peace and quiet for training once more. Carefully knocking on Haruka's door- he waited for her to let him in as he crossed his arms a bit and eyed the window once more to himself. It was not the best weather for this, but then perhaps that was for the best- it was after all supposed to push her to her limited. He had come by the previous day, telling her that they would begin their survival training regimen today- not to bother packing.

He had managed to get Tetzou to come and watch the island, pulling some old favors with his old mentor as well as pointing out his partner had to be strong- as Dahlia had been taken in for private tutoring and growth into more obscure area's. He had arrived earlier that day and now it was time to leave it in his care for defense while he and Haruka left for their training- responsibilities couldn't just be dropped for personal growth after all. But this was a requirement if Haruka was going to continue growing strong enough to hold her own in the grand line, her progress was amazing- but this was a way to jump-start it from how he had been taught ... the rougher the adaptation, the faster the growth.

For this reason, whenever the door would open he'd grin a bit as he offered her a medium sized rucksack for her to carry. "Food and water. Enough for three days- just like we always carry ... you can bring your weapon as well, of course. But this is it for supplies ... we'll be out for two months. Your job is to survive, mines to make sure you don't just keel over and die." After handing the pack over he slid his hands into his pockets, "I won't help in any situation unless your at your absolute limit, or something really unexpected happens. I won't let you die, after all." He grinned a bit before shifting the blade blade on his back he had finally finished, looking toward the door and motioning her to follow.

"We'll be heading toward the deeper parts of the island- the priests have little power there. Forestry, and animals that will want to eat you will be your threats." He glanced at her as he tucked his hands into his pockets, "Nothing there is stronger than you enough to cause your death, if you pay attention and keep your guard up ... if you drop it well. That's another story." He explained simply, leading her toward the exit of the building as he turned and watched her a moment, looking into her eyes carefully- "Haruka ... are you sure you want to do this? ... It's alot more dangerous than just sparing with me to get stronger. I can do my best, but I'm not a god ... I can't guarantee I can save you no matter what, no matter how hard I may want to."

The day would come, a few after the events which left Haruka a bit down. To the point that she would seek comfort from the group's Assassin in just wanting to know how she dealt with the harshness of executions. A conversation the duo would have from that point on as Haruka's good nature didn't allow her to cope with that vision that well. The first night, she having slept on Raven's floor just to keep herself from being alone. As she would open that door, knowing just whom was knocking and for what purpose. A part of Haruka wasn't quite sure that she was ready for such a thing, after all, she was still feeling a bit unnerved by it. Though when she would push herself to do so, a task which took some time as she would be left to stare at the door knob for a good minute before she finally turned it to open the door, she would see Gin's grinning face looking back at her.

Though he would be greeted by the downed appearance of her, he would slowly see a smile of her own forming. His personality always was a contagious one it seemed, and no matter what could get her to grin with enough time. He would hand her the rucksack which she would accept almost immediately, slinging it over her shoulder as her weapon was fastened tight to her hip, something she would give a small shake of with said hips to show she was already ahead of the game. She nodding her head along with him as he want down the list of what they were doing. She not feeling like talking so much right now, in part due to the fact of her mood. As well as the seriousness of the matter at hand, this wasn't a time to joke or be her awkward self, she would have to treat this with a level of professionalism! Something that would be ruined almost immediately as she let a loud open mouthed yawn escape her lips.

Though it would ruin the mood a small amount, when she would be ultimately asked if she was sure about this, she would answer with a firm nod of her head. "If I die during this, I deserve it for not being strong enough..." She would answer quite forwardly and honestly. What good was she to anyone if she would die from this? "And I don't intend on doing that, I'm going to get stronger so I can help others." Her voice was genuine, and certain. It had always been known she was a golden heart type person, extremely kind and caring. Though the extent of it had always been unknown, and perhaps seeing that pile of burning humanity was just the kickstart she needed to really get passionate about it. "Lead the way, because I'm not turning away from this now." Her mind made up, she would motion with her hand for him to do as requested, and she would follow closely behind him wherever he took her. That determined look on her face as she mentally prepared herself for the worst.

He smiled softly at her words- nodding once. "Very well. Alright, let's go then." He stated with a smile before he turned and headed off. It was going to be a long walk, his hands slid into his pockets as they moved through the deer-path that wildlife had slowly carved through the island. Dipping further and further into the hills until even the tombstones began to slowly age, until they stopped existing all together- replaced by simple piles of rubble over-coated with vines and plant-life. Glancing at her he offered another smile as he moved along, before noting that though she seemed to have perked up a bit she was still looking a bit out of it.

With this in mind he began to ponder things to talk about that wouldn't cause her to revert- and instead keep moving forward. Smiling a bit as he eyed the forestry he decided on a path. "Haru, have you ever learned to grow anything ...? I doubt you did on the island, I know. But did your teacher show you anything about wildlife and nature as a whole, or just show you what it was and move on?" he asked this in a curious tone, as if she didn't- she was going to learn quite a bit on their little expedition into the wilderness. He grinned at that idea, she would learn to make food from the wilderness, how to bring life and energy to those with little to none and more.

Gin knew that the idea would help- learning such things were right on the path for what she wanted to do with herself. Chuckling a bit he would step over a larger branch and eye the surroundings, they were now deep in the woods after about a two-hour long walk, and it showed. The deep forestry held them in close, but they had located a small clearing- he nodded a bit as he moved forward and rose his hands up. "Welcome home." He stated with a nod, before examining the area. "Now .. what do you actually know how to do? If you have an idea, show me and I'll stay back and watch. I'm not going to completely throw you to the wolves- but I'm not doing it for you ether."

He would with this, move forward and sit down with a light flop on the top of a pile of stone, watching her curiously to see how she would handle the fairly new situation. If she was to begin on a tent, or fire- perhaps a hunt, clearing the area out, and so forth. If she started with a fire, or clearing out the area he would stay silent. If she did anything else he would clear his throat a bit in an obvious way- a signal for 'not quite what you should be focusing on right now'. He would do this until she got to one of the two options, both were hard requirements after all- a fire was needed for warmth, life, food, and to remove any bugs on the ground around. Clearing was needed to make the area anything productive really.

This walk was a bit of a silent one for Haruka who would not be on the talkative side. She would just follow Gin who would seem to sense her dismay as he would turn around with a question to break her silence. All this would do would get Haruka to raise her glance from the ground as she pondered over what he was asking. He would add in he was aware of her home island being desolate of plant life, perhaps remembering what she had said about not seeing crops until mid way into her teens. "She touched up on it briefly, what to watch out for and the such. Though she never really told me much about planting and growing." It was true, as her voice was just matter of fact about it. Thalia had essentially gave her a crash course in everything she needed to know on the spot about adjusting into the real world outside of her home island.

She was after all reforming a beast to be an individual who didn't want to eat faces. So there was some more important things that Thalia found she had to focus on as opposed to anything beyond basic survival. Unfortunately for her, she would need these now as Gin would bring her to the clearing, and address this as her new home for the next few weeks. Her eye's surveying the area as Gin continued to talk, and eventually taking a seat on some near by rocks to allow her to do as she felt she needed. Setting her pack down, she eye'd Gin for a bit as she contemplated the situation. Though she wasn't in the best of conditions mentally, she was still taking this quite serious. "I don't know much, which is why I need to learn Her mind going back to Thalia again trying to remember anything that she had said before. Almost as if it were being said to her now, she could hear the woman speak. "Food, Shelter, and Warmth." That being said, Haruka would do as she felt was correct, she would begin on her shelter. She had been packed with a tent of sorts, and it was something that would only get her to stop in her tracks. Her eye's returning to Gin.

In those eyes, he would see a bit of confusion as a facial expression of disappointment emerged. The way he cleared his throat let her know exactly what he meant and it only worsened her error. She would pout for a moment before she decided this had to be wrong, and dropped what she was doing. Mentally going back to that list, she would return to food, and as she went to equip her arm blade, she would be hit with another clearing of the throat and another look of absolute sadness would be shown from her. Well, that left Warmth, and she would go for that, inadvertently doing what he was looking for, to clear the area as she picked up every small stick or branch, anything she could use for tinder as well as any sizable rock she could find to round out a nice fire pit to keep the fire from spreading. Anything else she found along the way would be cleared, and she would notice no throat clearing, was she doing good?

Slowly his smile broke out as she seemed to get the idea- fire. Good. Nodding a bit in approval he gave a soft clap, "Excellent. Only took two tries, that's already ten times more knowledge then most have." He congratulated her with a smile, before he leaned back and would continue to monitor her progress as she set up the fire pit. "Test passed, good job Haruka." He leaned forward, crossing his arms over his knee's lightly as he watched her. "You always want the things you were working on- but you have to be careful on the order. For instance- you only have about four hours of daylight left."

He pointed at the sun that was slowly setting, "So top priority is light, and warmth- you can hunt, make a shelter and more at night as long as you have a fire. But without it, you'd be stuck with a half-made shelter or cold uncooked food. Make sense?" He smiled a bit as he leaned back once more and eyed her fire-pit with a nod. "Dig out the bottom a bit- may seem pointless but a mouse bare-dirt bottom in a fire pit helps it last longer, radiate more heat into the ground around it, and decrease the chances of it spreading even more." He explained lightly, now that he knew her general level of knowledge he could accurately help and teach her after all.

Once she had the pit ready he would give some minor advice for the fire, "Use one of your boots laces and make a bow- then twist it once around a piece of wood. Use a rock to hold the spinning one down against another piece of flat wood with a rock underneath it- and drill a hole as fast and hard as you can. You'll get an ember that way fastest and easiest." he recommended simply, once more he didn't move to help- and should she struggle he would not move to show her how to do it. She needed to learn on her own, the best way to use the technique to make it work for her- or it would just end up confusing her when she needed it in a true survival situation.

As he watched her, he'd wait for the fire to finally burst into life and grin- clapping softly once more. "Excellent ... already past my expectations. At this rate we'll be past the basics and I can show you what you really want to know, animal and plant-life. I can't teach you how to be a chef- but I can teach you about nature and how I use it for my medical studies- you can take it from there and start testing idea's for food as well." Nodding a bit as he leaned his chin into his hand, watching her as she worked- "Next is whatever you wish. There is no bad order after a fire is done and ready- though a stockpile of firewood is key." Leaning back he crossed his feet, waiting patiently to see how she would do.
"I have the nerve to try and smile, ain't been happy for a while."

Haru would only pout as he would point out that it had taken her two tries to get what needed to be done first correct. It was a bit unnerving to be watched as she was, and it made her feel a tad odd to see every move she made to be observed and judged. Still, she would offer a weak and unsure smile as he congratulated her. Her uncertainty would prove to not be ill placed as he would then explain to her why this was the correct way to do things. She making a mental note as she stared perhaps a bit blankly at him due to being so inwardly focused at that moment to do so. She would nod her head with that same blank look when he asked her if it made sense, which it did, but she was too busy soaking in information to offer a proper response. Of course she would move on to the task given to her, using a thick slab of wood to break the earth a bit in that fire pit, softening the dirt before scooping it out bit by bit until she or perhaps Gin seemed satisfied.

Naturally she would take a moment to look it over, almost as if inspecting her work, but she would also be committing that to memory as well. The general depth and look of this which she would forget after her nap, but at least she gets an A for effort, right? Though when it came to actually starting the fire, that would be a whole new adventure for poor Haruka. Doing as instructed, things would begin with her staring at her lace, not yet into a bow. She staring sternly at it, almost as if mentally willing it to make itself into said bow. Though alas, it never did and that meant she would have to go through the motions itself. Fumbling with it, this poor woman would take over a minute to do so, messing up here, dropping the lace there until she would finally hold it over her head with a smile of triumph. Sadly, this was only step one, and soon her gloomy mood would return as she would repeat the process with the pieces of wood and rocks. Staring at them, hoping they'd get into place all their own. Unfortunately, this would be just wishful thinking and instead she would be doing it herself, or rather trying.

Her first attempts would be shown with her dropping the rocks, or poking herself with the point of the stick she was going to be spinning, drilling it into her own pant leg with a howl of pain. Naturally this would be quite the cutely entertaining show for Gin, too see her clumsily mess this up for her first time. Though when the stars aligns, and with many bumps and scratches later, she would have fire. The small spark hitting as she blew on it to bring it to life, and she would practically forget all of her concerns. With a fire, she would hop to her feet in joy, hands above her head as if she had just accomplished a life goal, Harucat is quite pleased. "I did it!" She would cheer, undoubtedly much to Gin's amusement. As he would congratulate her again, this would come with a beaming look of joy on her face, not even wavering as he explained the next step. Firewood was the next task as far as she would concerned, and she would even think twice about it as she walked just two feet out of her little camping area before travesty would hit.

Haruka would feel a near crushing weight hit her in the back, forcing her face first into the ground, a moderate amount of pain in her back as she looked to her side to see a pair of familiar boots on either side of her. She could feel a knee planted firmly into the mid of her back, and she would attempt to turn her head to look, but all she felt was the intense feeling of cold steel against her neck. "You're dead.....report it" She would hear an equally familiar voice coldly call out to her before the weight would be lifted and she could see Raven dart away back into the forest. Poor Haruka's joy would be literally crushed as Raven had just hopped out of a tree and landed on top of her, and held the back of her blade to Haruka's neck, and as shocking as this was to her, even she knew the lesson here. Never let your guard down, but was this planned? Did Gin put her up to this, and more importantly, would she strike again?

With a heavy heart, she would get up to her feet, arching her back in pain a bit as she reached a hand around to hold it, wincing ever so slightly as she pouted and looked to Gin. The saddest part to her being that she didn't have to walk far to report it, she literally took a step out of the camp before this happened. "I.....I died....." She would "report" in a confused yet adorable tone. It was clear that she had no idea what just happened, and what to expect, all she knew was her happiness was gone, and now, her back ached. "I-I'm just going to lie down for a moment...."

Ginjo would smile at how proud she was of making fire, nodding firmly. "Very good." Once she went to gather firewood, he leaned back and idly counted off on his fingers until he heard the thud. After a few moments later as she came back in saying she was dead, he nodding a bit. "I'd be incredibly surprised if you weren't. I gave you no warning, you felt safe with me here. You always feel safe with me here." Slowly he watched as she slumped down and shook his head, "No." He stated in a tone that was surprisingly firm, "You lay down in a situation like this- after just barely surviving an attack, what would happen?"

His tone was firm, and there was no humor in it. "You die, Haruka. Laying down is not how you survive. When your injured you should be even more careful. If you want to do this you have to focus ... you cannot feel safe just because I'm here." He frowned a bit, "I will protect you to the best of my ability, you know that. But you don't want that- you don't want me to have to protect you, right? So stand up- and try again. Keep trying, keep pushing even when it hurts. Your stronger than you could ever know- you just have to keep trying. You never truly die, never truly loose- until you give up. Then, you may as well have just not done anything to start with."

His speech done, he signaled Raven behind him to not jump her immediately- instead to wait for a bit so she would do it later, testing if she kept her actual focus beyond just stepping out. This would continue, time and time again until Haruka would get it- Gin would stay patient and calm, allowing her to rest and recover but never lay down and give up. Enforcing the idea that she had to keep going as often as he needed to as he eventually would wait for her to succeed in her chore, to gather enough firewood to last the night as he would rest his arms over his legs and watch. She was making progress, and she was strong- she just had to get that idea that she needed a break after being pushed back down out of her head.

But he knew from experience- it was not something to easily grow out of. He sighed as he stretched a bit and moved forward, reaching down as he ruffled through his things when she finally would sit- knowing she would not have any food as she spent her time getting the fire going and maintaining it for the rest of the night. As such, he rose up and placed a fully-packed lunch by her with a smile as he patted her head, "You did well. Very well. Hang in there and keep pushing- and I promise you wont be disappointed." He stated firmly, but kindly as he sat down across from her and took out his own lunch- her's with her own favorites as he ate his own more western-stlye favorites.
"I have the nerve to try and smile, ain't been happy for a while."

Haru's face told the whole story, sadness and disappointment welling up inside of her after she sat down, only to be told no. Though, she knew Gin had a point, she couldn't just lie down after something like this, though she felt like it due to the ache in her back from Raven hopping down on her. Still, it was so ever desirable to do it, and it made her getting back to her feet all the harder for it. Though with some willpower and some whining from her end, she would manage, only lowering her head in defeat as Gin would lecture her on the subject. She couldn't say anything back, because what was there to say really? All she could do was keep her head lowered, knowing she was wrong as she marched back into the Forest, slow and steady steps, waiting for Raven to strike. Fortunately, Haruka would be able to make some progress, carefully watching her step. Though unfortunately, it would last as Raven would make herself known soon. Haruka's eye's set on the tree tops, she never saw her coming from the side as she would be tackled to the ground, and mounted with the back of Raven's blade to her throat again. "Report it..." The soulless young woman would once more coldly announce to her,

This would happen over and over again, from different angles each time, and each time it would only frustrate Haru more and more as she would have to turn around and tell Gin she had been gotten again. After a while, it had become somewhat embarrassing to know just how many times Raven had "killed" her. Though with a bit of perseverance, and with her mind set after that last time, Haru wasn't going to let it happen again. With a firm breath, she would march back into those woods, eye's forward, ears listening to the forest around her. Careful steps which she had planned ahead with, it would appear that she was just marching forward and was fed up. This was all Raven needed to smirk from behind her mask. She would then look to just sneak up on Haru, moving at a moderate pace to cut the distance down quickly. A snapping twig would be all Haru had to hear as Raven would go to attack, swinging and arm at her head to ground her. Though, she would be surprised for Haru to duck under it, knowing Raven's assault well enough from having just had it happen so many times.

Reaching an arm around, she would hook it underneath Raven's now outstretched arm and pop her hips, tossing Raven over herself using the young woman's momentum against her. Slamming Raven to the ground, she would then torque her arm as she pinned her down. "I'm going to get my firewood now..." She would announce, clearly not in the mood as she let Raven go, allowing the woman to sulk away. Bringing the load back,s he would be treated to Gin whom would give her a lunch, as well as giving his grade on her day. It would be enough to get a weak smile out of her. Though it would explode into a full blown joyous squee once she saw what her lunch was. The old woman had struck again with her favorite! Hurriedly getting herself ready to eat, she couldn't help but look at Gin and ask a more serious question. "So how long is Raven going to be out there?" She ask, a bit concerned, not so much for her well being. She knew that Raven was versed in survival, able to easily make do in harsh environments. It came with her job after all, no Haru was more concerned with what Raven would do once she passed out for the night.

Ginjo practically glowed with how proud he was of Haruka when she managed it finally, and he took another bite of food as he blinked at her question with a soft smile. "Don't worry, we already set her up a camp of her own. She'll be comfortable and fine- if she needs medical attention I'll tend to her just as I would you." He nodded a bit as he took another bite of food, blinking a bit at how she squeed over the food and chuckled a bit. "Figured you'd like that." He commented as he took another bite, leaning back and sipping his tea as he eyed the forestry wall in thought- "To answer you, she'll be out here fr as long as we are- she wanted training as well, just of a different sort as her goals are different then your own."

Stretching a bit he simply eyed the forest for a bit as he ate before looking toward her and grinning, "You won' have much to sleep on out here. You have a little bit of time before you need to sleep so after you finish I'll teach you have to make a basic bedding, it won't help against rains or anything- but getting you off the cold ground is a definite requirement." He nodded some, before he hopped up and munched on his fried potato slices as he moved toward the forest, tugging out a sawblade and carefully removing ten poles of the wood- carrying them back and setting them down he separated them by size. "Three legs on each side, and then the frame itself." He commented as he sat down.

"I'm not heartless. I'll make it for you so you can get a good night sleep- but after this you're going to be on your own, and have to suffer consequences for whatever decisions you make, alright?" He smiled a bit gently before he finished his bowl and set it aside, beginning to take the poles and work them together. Using vines from the tree's that were of different ivy's as he wrapped and weaved them to bond the pieces of wood together for her- cutting off the ends of the legs, making flat 'X' shaped bottoms for them as he set it down and wove hundreds of the thin vines in and out braided together to make up the actual location for the bed between the frame.

Once he was done he took essentially a bunch of gathered grasses and tossed them into the bed, making it relatively soft and comfortable as he nodded and dusted his hands off. "There ... now time for bed." He commented with a smile, ruffling her hair lightly. "You'll get this, Haru. Just keep going." He stated in a tone that told her like a book he believed in her, with that he stretched and meandered toward the darkness of the forestry, "I'll wake up pretty early- but I'm not waking you up. That choice falls on you, more sleep to heal and recover and less time to be productive, or the other way around. Sleep well, Haru." He commented as he waved a bit- disappearing into the darkness for the night.
"I have the nerve to try and smile, ain't been happy for a while."
