Poor Haru could only wiggle in her spot as she reached a hand up to rub the spot which was hit by Gin. She letting out a groan as she cutely protested this action. The man would of course explain why, but at the end of it, all she was concerned with was the slight pain in her forehead now. "You're supposed to let me heal, not give me more health problems..." She would whine a bit as she pouted. She eventually getting over it, though it would still linger as she could be seen reacting to it every so often. For Haru, the silence which she had inflicted upon Gin during this conversation would be bring upon a certain awkwardness, as well as hint of amusement. She would be somewhat entertained, and yet touched at the notion she left him speechless. Although her face wouldn't read that, she just wore her usual grin which suggested she was up to little to no good. Whether he picked up on it or not, he would excuse himself to get to work on the weapon, and it was something that she would allow wordlessly. After all, it had been her words of trust that allowed him to do this. Although it wasn't long after he had left that she would start to feel a bit of restlessness. Injured as she was, she still was a subject to boredom. Very soon, she would look to her side, at the book from Kaji and she would take a moment to try and retrieve it as it would be a tool in which to occupy herself. Reaching over as she leaned to compensate for her lack of reach. Her hands would come up just short, her fingertips barely an inch away. No matter how much she tried, this woman just couldn't get to it. Never fear however, a resourceful marine she was! One of the pillows behind her back, she could use that to sling over and slide the book closer, how clever. Well in her mind it must have worked out better, cause when it came time to try it, well all she managed to do was knock just about everything on her nightstand to the floor, including this book and her pillow. Perhaps, she had something in the drawer to help her with this? Fumbling around with it, she would slide it open, although a bit too well as the entire drawer would come loose and spill into the floor. This would leave her to only stare at the growing mess with mild intrigue. Well, no matter, she had the other nightstand on the other side of the bed. Turning and leaning quite suddenly to get to it would prove fatal as a surge of pain would shoot through her. Her hands becoming far less graceful as she would instead of grabbing anything, would shove it to it's side, spilling anything on top of it to the floor. "oops...". By the time, that Gin would get back, her bed would be the centerpiece of many things on the floor. In the center of it all, she still sitting up, covers pulled up high as she sat much like a cat in the center of it's own travesty. Offering it's owner a look which suggested it wasn't accepting blame. She would attempt to say something, but really how could she even attempt to explain this one? Her only hope was that the Captain had a pet bird or something, ANYTHING that she could point a finger at and say that they did it. Shifting the blame was an ingenious strategy after all, just a shame she didn't have access to it as she doubted very much she could convince him that he did it. No matter how Gin reacted to Haruka's....busy day. She would be a bit surprised by the question. "They were supposed to bring me food?" She would ask with eyes blinking in confusion. This would likely not bode well, but for the coming moments with Gin. "Don't worry about it, I'm just glad you enjoyed it, I'm happy to hear at least your getting some good out of it, I can't wait to see what you got for me." She would add with a sweetened tone to respond to his talking of the forge and weapon. |

Ginjo walked in ... to find a Cat-Haru. Staring at the mess around the bed and her sitting there trying to look innocent as he slowly blinked and simply stepped around the mess, before sitting down and placing the food in front of her with her drink as he rubbed the bridge of his nose. "I don't really have any words." He commented simply, starting to get things back in order as he would put most of the non-essentials on the dresser and so forth instead of the nightstands ... which were apparently a very dangerous thing for her to be near. Raising his hand he would ruffle his hair a bit to get it out of his face and eye her with a slight smirk, "I assume you were trying to get something when you did this?" He asked simply, glancing at the thing at the bottom of the pile- Kaji's book. "Aaah. The culprit." He teased her lightly with a chuckle before he would place it on her lap next to the food and plop down, crossing his ankles a bit an arching a brow at her. "It should be done tomorrow- I should probably actually sleep tonight." He chuckled a bit as he would glanced out the window in thought, "I'll eventually add Seastone to it so you'll be able to actually hit Devil Fruit user's more effectively and counter them appropriately." He nodded a bit in thought- before he would raise his hands behind his head and lean back a bit- obviously thinking about this as he blinked. "That reminds me ... I didn't really get to talk to you about the fruits, did I?" He murmured, rubbing his chin in thought. "I know I gave you the basics, but I didn't really get into Haki, Seastone, their curses ... It's stuff you should know here. The grand line is full of Devil Fruit users of all sorts." He murmured, chuckling before glancing at her- if she said she was actually curious about it he would start and explain while she was eating. It was rather key to point out the weaknesses beyond anything else, as she needed to know how to fight them if she was attacked, which was going to become increasingly likely as they traversed through the grand line. "Hm. Where to start ... I suppose the first is like I said, the most common is the Zoans- transforming into animal based forms." "They're usually the most easy to deal with- as they maintain physical form. They tend to have natural weapons as an advantage but it can be avoided if done right, the high priest of that corrupt cult ate one and could spit acidic poison." He murmured, rubbing his chin before blinking a bit and eyeing the window instead. "Fight them like you would any other, but keep in mind they have heightened senses generally- you cant rely on underhanded tactics against them generally." He murmured with a frown before moving on. "Paramecia require you to work against them for a bit to really locate the weakness. Dad is immune to blunt force, concussion, and electricity. But you can cut him as easily as anyone else- maybe even easier honestly." "Paramecia are so diverse its hard to counter them, it's based on what you know and how you analyze their abilities honestly." He nodded a bit, "But all have a weakness. Just takes time to locate it sometimes." Resting his chin in his palm he moved to the final- "Logia are able to infinitely produce their element and transform into a single element. They can't be hurt by normal means as they turn into an intangible form at will- but if you catch them off guard you can still hurt them." He narrowed his eyes, "But all devil fruit users have several universal weaknesses. If they are in contact with large amounts of water around them- usually up to mid chest, they are paralyzed and loose access to their powers." Placing a hand on his blade he drew it, and laid it across his lap- pointing at the odd blue-hued metal edge of the blade. "This is seastone. Nearly unbreakable, and holds the power of the sea- it shuts down their powers on contact with their skin, but they wont be paralyzed. Still extremely effective, lets you hit Logia users casually- shut down their powers, remove the zoans forms, or the paramecia's combat abilities usually. The final counter is Haki ... which is another matter entirely, honestly." He murmured, making a mental note on whether he suspected her near-death had awakened his own ... it was a hard thing to decide as it could send the wrong messages to her if he didn't word it properly. |

Haru's eye's would widen a bit as she observed Gin who just looked back at her, eye's blinking and the whole display out in the open. Who wouldn't say anything, nor would she as she looked on trying to look as innocent as she could. Yet she could see it in his eye's between blinks, he was taken back by it. Still he would be prepared to move on as he had a tray of food for her. Something that suggested to her that he didn't anticipate that the men would do as they were told. It was a thought which would bring a frown to her face as the thought cut her a bit. If this was true, then why couldn't they just accept her? As depressing as it was, she knew it wouldn't help matters. Fortunately the meal that was brought looked and smelled quite nice, it helped take her mind off of it. She would accept it willingly as she brushed the book to the side, a bit too focused on feeding her belly for the moment to want to read, and there would always be later. A few bits in and he would go back to the weapon, and she could only nod her head as he mentioned the time he expected it to be done. It was good to hear, but a part of her hated that fact as well, and it would show as she couldn't help but pout a bit. "Why don't you take you're time, Gin? You're enjoying being back to working with something you enjoy, soak it in. Besides, it's not like I'm going to be able to use it until I'm healed anyways." She would say with an obvious concern in her voice. She knew the pressure that he must have felt being the Captain of this unit. It would be the finer things in life that would make days such as this all the brighter for them. "I appreciate what you're doing, I just don't want you to think you have to cut your fun in the forge short, enjoy yourself." She would finish with a confident nod as she went back to her meal. The caring nature that Haruka showed, between him and Kaji, it could be quite intoxicating to some. Perhaps it would be this which would lead into the talk of Seastone which move on to Devil Fruits. Still it was a topic that she listened to intently on. He going down a refresher, before looking to see if she was interested. With a mouthful of food, she could only motion with her hand with a nod of her head, ushering him to continue. She most certainly wanted to hear it, even if her stomach said otherwise. The talk of Zoan's only made her less and less interested in that type of fruit. The knowledge of how to deal with them would be the only thing that she tucked back in her mind. Although a look around the room just five minutes ago might have suggested she deserved a Neko Neko no Mi zoan type, she still just wasn't at all intrigued by it. She would just continue her meal without saying anything on them. Paramecia's would get her attention a bit more, as the options were near limitless it seemed as to what they could do. A flexible type of Devil Fruit which have it's possessor an ability which offer many, many options to them? He would of course go on to speak of his at her again, and it was something that stood out to her. Causing her to near choke, offering a small cough as she politely covered her mouth. The sudden memory popping into her mind springing her to want to speak. "That's right, your Father ate a Devil Fruit, wasn't all the others who ate one also Paramecia's?" She would ask quite curiously. She trying to remember all of them and what they had. They had Tsukai with rubber, Kira with size. Almost immediately she would frown at how bad her memory was when she arrived very quickly to remembering Ira, and a few others. This leading her to correct herself quite quickly. "No, I suppose they had mostly Zoan types, right?" She would question to reassure herself of this fact. The talk of Logia's was quite short, but she couldn't deny the appeal to them. Whilst the flexibility and the sheer utility of a Paramecia was unmatched. The raw power of Logia's was just that, incomparable. Though a bit more boring, still she would just listen quietly, a little embarrassed about her mistake regarding his Father's crew. Something that showed as she kept her head down and seemed ashamed of herself. He would eventually go on about seastone, and cause her to finally look up as he drew his blade. Though it wouldn't be until he mentioned Haki that she would be hard. "Are you alright? You've been acting somewhat strange ever since I woke up..." She couldn't help but question. She had noticed it ever since, but there was a distant look in his eyes. He thinking internally a lot, and up until now she had remained silent, keeping it to herself. Though after a few too many times, one had to ask, right? |

Gin waved her suggestion off a bit with a grin, "I'm fine. I've always been lacking sleep, I have to much going on in my mind." He explained with a soft chuckle, "I'll get past it and even then I'll be studying instead." He commented simply, shrugging as he leaned back and watched her as he slid the blade back into its sheath at his hip- watching her as she took in the information before asking her question and then babbling a bit awkwardly- drawing a soft smirk from his lips. "Two have paramecia, one was a zoan, and the other was an ancient zoan- aye. Don't worry about it, I don't expect you to memorize the aspects of a family you never met- silly cat." He teased her with the new nickname before he blinked at her question. Frowning a bit he rubbed the back of his neck and sighed, "I think you almost dying awakened my Haki. I'm not certain yet however- but the shoe fits from what dad used to tell me." He commented with a simple frown, before he raised a hand up and ruffled his own hair with it. "Haki is a unique force held within all living beings. It is not that different from the normal senses. However, most people do not notice it or fail to awaken it. Broadly, there are two types of Haki common to everyone, given the proper training- Kenbunshoku and Busoshoku; however, there is a third type that only a certain group of "chosen ones" are said to possess, Haoshoku- like my dad." He frowned as he rested his chin in his palm, "Haki can only be awakened from a emotionally or physically scaring situation that drives you to your limit on ether side. Pushed to the extent that your body kicks into survival mode, it awakens and can then be trained." He leaned back once more and let his gaze meet her own for a moment before his lip curled a bit in amusement, "I guess it proves how much you almost dying hurt. So don't do that again- alright? Be more careful." He muttered, glancing out the window as he frowned, before realizing he had promised an explanation on just what Haki was as a whole. Blinking he cleared his throat and raised his finger- preparing to explain them much as he had devil fruits. "Kenbunshoku Haki is all about sensory ... it's how I noticed. I think anyway. It acts sort of like a sixth sense, you feel ... presence, I guess is the best word for what I felt. It's how I knew you were still barely alive despite your breath stopping. It lets you predict opponents movements, locate people through walls, sense intention- dad could even sense surface emotions." He explained as he listed off the benefits before rubbing the back of his neck a bit in thought, "Busoshoku is the other form, defensive and offensive power it lets you take your willpower and solidify it into physical form. Barriers, the ability to hit devil fruit users as if they had normal bodies, hardening your body to higher durability, and striking with more power than usual are all benefits." He explained this pointedly before he grinned a bit. "Then there are people like my dad ... Haoshoku users. They can knock out entire armies with a blink of the eye ... the power to force your will onto others around you. Only one in a million have it." He grinned some as he watched her, "I'm nowhere near that awesome. But I definitely think I felt Kenbunshoku ... Ah well. I'll train it if I did, we'll see where it goes." He nodded a bit, before blinking at the darkness outside and frowning. "I should try and sleep I suppose ... you should as well, Haru. You need your rest as much as I do- even more so really." He grinned as he slowly rose up and gently ruffled her hair. "Try not to knock everything over this time. I'll bring in breakfast and such tomorrow." He assured her gently, before he would take her empty dishes and tray out with him. He was going to help her get stronger ... train her as he himself trained to get stronger, his progress was less strait-forward but amplifying his versatility was surely a step in the right direction. |

She could only shoot him a disapproving look as he shook off her concern. It simply was not what she wanted to see, even if he had other plans to keep himself busy. Just by the way he reflected on this though, she could tell he enjoyed it very much, and she just wanted the fun to continue for the man. "You just need a good rest and to remain busy.." she would announce, almost as if making up her mind. Something she would do as she took that pillow which had made the initial mess and toss it to the floor at Gin's feet. She not up to the mischief that "Cat Haru" was beginning to be known for, but more of a caring side. "Sleeping sitting up can't be good for your back either. Why don't you just bunk on the floor, not any more comfortable I'm sure, but it's got to be better for you in the long run." Though she was obviously concerned when she said this, she would offer a weak smile as he would tease her with a new nickname. "Silly cat, hmm?" He would go through some trouble in explaining Haki, although the discussion did start off a bit uneasy, referring to the near death by Haru. Though it wasn't the fact that she almost died, but what had come from it. Far from bothersome, she would just look to other points he had made, referring to those who had failed to awaken there own. "So I have access to this, Haki? Well perhaps one day you'll get close to death, and I can awaken mine." She would lightly joke, though she could tell that perhaps it wasn't in the best of taste. It was a bit eery with how well she was taking the fact that she nearly died. in fact had anyone seen her without the bandages and the cuts, it would be surprising if anyone could tell, what with the way she was acting. Still, she would continue to smile as she hard the man explain what almost losing her meant to him, and it was a warming feeling for her. "I'm just glad you got something out of it. If nothing else, I can help my friends when I can, and deny the ones who want me dead.....well my death." Her grin would widen as she said this. Still, his explanation of the Haki's would come and she would listen with the same diligence as she had over Devil Fruits. Nodding her head as she did to show she was paying attention even if she remained wordless. She didn't have much to add, her own mind just packing away the info as she decided on how much it could help her. Obviously a lot from the sounds of it, but there was a few things lingering in her mind, such as how one awakens their Haki. Certainly it was something that didn't just come from death or close to it, right? The time would come when the man would begin to say his good nights. She looking quite closely to that pillow she threw just earlier. A mixed reaction on her face as he took the dishes from her which were picked quite clean from her appetite. "Remember what I said, rest and fun." Her tone was a bit sterner than usual, showing that she did in fact care. She taking a moment to wiggle her way back into a more comfortable position as her eyes began to flutter shut. The fullness of her belly making her more than content enough to began to drift back to sleep. "Good night, Gin" |
