He glanced at Haruka and frowned a bit at her questioning, "... My father, whom is a pirate, was a slave for most of his life. He freed himself- giving him his bounty and leading to the rest of his actions." Gin's tone was simple and explanatory- he had never kept the fact his father and mother were pirates a secret after all. Seeming to at least calm a bit- he moved forward and grasped at the food they were bringing in their direction, and his tone seemed to darken a bit. "As far as information ... you would be surprised exactly what I can get out of someone when you know what you're doing." He murmured, shaking his head with a sigh as he leaned back.

Making sure they were a distance from the prisoners he glanced at her and grinned a bit, "Look at them." He murmured softly, meaning the prisoners. "Their getting scared. Now- I doubt any of them know anything of importance, but humans are like cattle. Spook one, you start spooking all of them. I'll take my time, slowly making sure they hear the other's screams. Let them hear them crying in their cells. After a few days- I'll finally take in the one you fought, and the one that stopped me. One of -them- certainly knows something ... and by then they'll be worried, possibly terrified."

Mental warfare was a cruel game, but it was his specialty. Taking a slow breath he raised his hands and started to eat the soup and hardbread that they had given him- it was decent, nothing that he would imagine a real chef could make, but it was enough and it would give him the calories he needed to keep going. Getting it down he sipped at water instead of the rum that was being passed around, sipping it lightly as he eyed her. "I know you likely dislike me sending you in so early, so I'm sorry. But you're the only one noteworthy here, and I need you at your peak- if you die, so do the men if I can't intervene. You're all important, so we have to do our best."

He smiled a bit, before Gin's gaze traveled over the men stuffing their face and shaking his head a bit with a chuckle. "If I keep this up I'll turn into my dad, caring about everyone- even his opponents. Don't wanna do that." He grinned as he watched the gamble, stuff face, and act like general grown men that were friends would together. It was nice- better than the usual idea of marines having to be these prim, proper, formal and rather annoying men in suits. You could be disciplined and still have fun ... but so few seemed to understand that idea- it was rather annoying when he was trying to prove the opposite idea.

She would only frown at the story she had been given by Gin, little more than just a touch up on his Father's past. Still it was one which would put a bit of unease into her, perhaps nothing more than a tinge of sympathy. "That is one of the perks about this job though, a chance to right such atrocities, and get paid for it." Her voice was one that suggested she was trying to lighten the mood, and the simple shrug of her shoulders would further that assumption. Likewise, another assumption, one being what it was that Gin was after with those inmates would be right, if only partially. Gin wouldn't be shy in explaining to her, though he would keep his voice down as to keep it between them. She whom was standing by, eye's facing the way he asked of her, arms crossed over her chest. She would simply glare in the direction of the pirates as her mind began to do it's work.

Gin would mention a philosophy about humans and spooking one to get to the others. It was an interesting take on the matter, or at least that's what she got out of the whole ordeal. "Well, so long as they are all viewed together as a herd." She would say in a hushed tone, making sure to match his own pitch as they conversed between the two quietly. Still, she would have a point, if the two stronger ones didn't give a rat's ass about the weak, the plan wasn't the best. Though that did bring up the idea of pressuring one's self preservation, and perhaps even then that's something that would be triggered by hearing the weak scream. "Hmm" Haruka could be heard making a slight sound, shrugging her shoulders again, though this time as if in dismissal to her brain rationalizing the play in her mind. "I guess we'll see in due time." She would finally say before turning and making her way towards the food.

A little more than just mild disappointment would hit her once she spied what it was. This meal far worse than what they had enjoyed on the Beach, and whilst the Beach was enjoyable, this was barely more than bread and water. She couldn't help but pout as she had to wonder, after two disappointments, would sh truly get the cuisine she wanted, or would she have to take up cooking as a hobby? At least what they had before was some sort of meat, this here never had the blood she so desired pumping through it's veins. Still, it was something, and begrudgingly she would take what was handed to her, nodding with a thanks to the soldier who gave it to her before taking a seat across from Gin. The man would apologize to her about sending her to bed, another young man hurrying to slide a glass in front of her, a tasty beverage no doubt.

Seeing it only made her feel a bit parched and the young woman after taking a bite of the not so good bread would take a long swig of her drink. Her eye's widening a bit as she got a mouthful as a strong sensation immediately hit her senses. Gulping it down, she would be left to wheeze as a burning sensation overtook her chest and followed all the way down to her stomach, she had just taken a large swig of Rum. Eye's watering a bit, still doing her best to get her breath back, a ever so slight pained look on her face. She would look around to see these men partying, and immediately she felt the fool for not having suspected such trickery. "I wish they would have warned me..." She would say, her voice weak still as she looked to Gin, a look of discomfort still plain on her face.

"Well, I suppose it will just help me sleep later, right?" A weak smile would creep out onto her face through the discomfort as she attempted to take this with stride. Though she was still a bit winded as her voice had yet to get it's strength back. Though she would take a far lighter sip of the drink before going back to her food. "I wouldn't worry about the apologies. It's for the best, but you got to promise me a day to sleep as late as I want." Her grin would widen as she would joke with the man, or at least doing her best to do so. The jolly air from the men was contagious it seemed.

EDIT

Ginjo blinked a bit at her tone, and chuckled just a bit- "Aye. That's the benefit I suppose." He commented idly as they went to eat. He eyed her and nodded at the comments about the interrogations that would be taking place as she mentioned such, "You would think that, but human's are not animals. It isn't the fact that they think themselves better than the ones being tortured- it's the fact that the individual whom is doing the interrogation isn't afraid of doing whatever need's done. It's survival ... all people do so. Animals as well. Even if your a Lion- survival instinct exists for you."

He shrugged a bit and as they sat down to eat, he grinned as the men gave her booze and she didn't seem to realize it. Gin winced a bit, "Ah- sorry. Figured you would notice." He murmured, turning the booze down as he was technically far to young for such things, and of course he hated to pollute his body with such things atop that. Stretching some he rolled his shoulders, "Tomorrow we'll get some hunting done with the information gathering ... we need real food if we want to stay healthy enough for the up and coming battles." He frowned some, rubbing his neck as he debated this and sipped his tea- his meal finished as he propped his feet up in thought.

As the time ticked by, he grinned a bit at her and nodded. "When we aren't fighting for control of an Island, you're welcome to stay up late as you wish." he chuckled- slowly rising up as he dusted himself off a bit and eyed the men. "Alright. Time to get some interrogation done and then we'll head to bed." He commented idly- his gaze traveling toward Haruka, "Since it'll be loud your welcome to come and watch, but this shouldn't take long hopefully- I'd say just head to bed." he frowned some, slowly standing as he seemed to darken a bit, wrapping his head around what he was about to do as he rose up and moved toward the prisoner the men were taking out.

He had a defiant look in his eye, staring at Ginjo as he snorted. "Like a kid is gonna get me to ta-" The scream that filled the air was like nails on a chalkboard, the man's right ear was bleeding where it connected to the man's skull, blood dripping down Gin's hand and wrist- that was holding the man's said ear, twisted halfway in his hand. "... All I need to do is twitch my wrist, and you will forever be missing one ear. Try me, slaver." His tone that filled the air was emotionless and cold, eyes practically begging the man to give him an excuse to maul him- quite literally. The man did not say a word, looking down in fear as he tried to fight back whimpering from the pair- the prison had gone earily silent.

The other marines were luckily in the other room and had gotten quiet hearing the yell but not to much, the two guards however looked scared of Gin as much as the prisoners- whom looked downright terrified. "... Good." he murmured as the slaver shook, releasing the man's ear as he dropped to his knee's cradling it weakly. "... Tend to his ear and toss him back in. I think I got my message across without needing to take them to the backroom ... for now." He let his gaze slide along the other prisoners- none met his gaze, he turned and meandered back toward the door as the prisoners remained dead silent.

He calmly raised a hand and rubbed the side of his face as he re-entered the common room, waving at the men to get back to their partying as he moved and headed up toward the sleeping quarters. He was not looking forward to this ... but he had to get his point across to these slavers now before they got any ideas ... if they had taken the citizens they would be the ones to regret it, he had to try and get them back- he refused to let them suffer the same fate as his father. His gut clenched at the thought- because the problem was he didn't know how long the pirates had taken this place over, they could already be sold and scattered across the Grand Line, and he would have no idea.
