He smiled a bit at Haruka saying to tell that to Headquarters, "I will." He stated firmly, before he headed to bed with Dahlia- relaxing on the rocks as he slowly closed his eyes and let the world drift off into the realm of dreams. A smile spread over his lips as he dreamed of happy times, flying with Atlas, getting food from Kira, learning from his parents and Mizu- then as the sky turned red, and he watched the bullets fly, he jerked awake. Sitting there quietly, the sun beginning to rise- cold sweat rolling off his body- the nightmare having struck home as that was something he greatly feared, finding one day the government he served ended his family. Slowly he rubbed his temples as he let himself straiten and awaken properly- before his eyes rose up to the other marines that were getting awake, a few muttering about still being tired as Ginjo rubbed his face a bit. Finally he rose up and called out simply, "Alright- everyone up. Time to head out once we get something to drink and wake up a bit- you all stay here, me and Dahlia will go. Haruka as well to show us the way." He stated simply as he yawned a bit, stretching as his joints cracked and popped- shaking it off before he slowly let his gaze travel along the rocks and sands. He meandered toward the firepit, loading it up once more before tossing the embers in and coaxing them to life as he slowly pulled back and began to boil up a pot of water to turn into what smelled early mint tea. He let his gaze travel around him before he raised a hand and poured the cup of tea in, and sipped at it as he awakened. Once Haruka and Dahlia had gathered he would offer them the same as he stretched and rolled his neck a bit to get out the kinks and eyed the path to the other side of the island. "A island-long trip will probably take up about six hours." He commented softly as he rubbed his chin. Slowly he gathered three packs- holding just enough rations and water for each of them for a twenty four hour period. Handing one to each of them and slinging one on his shoulder as well. He looked to the men and gave simple instructions, "Guard this place until we can secure the other side. I'll send a flare to let you know- so keep an eye out. When we do send five men to our location." The man nodded a bit as Ginjo nodded in-turn before looking to Dahlia and Haruka both, "Ready to head out?" He would ask curiously, hands in his pockets as he glanced at the trail- not knowing the best path, but having a good idea- besides Haruka knew the best path anyway. Dahlia arched a brow as Gin followed her towards the water, casting him a bit of a dirty look she would slip rather easily into the water beneath the dock, choosing a nice pillar to sleep behind, she made a bit of a nest for herself in the sand and promptly settled down to try to sleep. Try being the key word. When you had as much energy as Dahlia, it was not easy to sleep, or even to stay in one place for long. She lay in her place for only a few minutes before she sighed and shot out into deeper waters to swim off some of the excess energy. Her soulless looking eyes blinked slowly as she navigated the darkened water, skimming along the floor of the ocean with a bit of a mental sigh of relief. She slipped around coral formations, rocks, even fish as she traversed the bottom of the sea for the better part of an hour, until she had burned the better part of her energy away, which would hopefully allow for her to fall asleep properly. Popping her head above the water to assure herself she still knew which direction she needed to head in, Dahlia would promptly duck under the gentle waves and make her way towards the dock. With a bit of a yawn, she slipped around a pillar, her feet touching the ocean floor as she slowly lay herself in a pile of seaweed which was acting as her bed. Settling down, the sharkgirl was finally able to drift off to sleep... A few hours later Gin woke her up, dragging her out of her watery bed, much to her distaste. Yawning, she shuffled from the water, giving a violent shake that removed most of the water from her clothes and herself, she would move to the rocks that Gin had earlier slept on, and curled up upon them with a widemouthed yawn. Shivering a little, she grunted a bit, soon rising once more and heading towards the fires, where she was greeted by a cup of tea. She made a bit of a face, but accepted it and started to drink it, allowing it to warm her from her core. She sleepily accepted the pack that she was offered and rose as he asked if they were ready. She wasn't really ready, but she didn't exactly have the energy to try to argue or complain just yet. Glancing to the navigator, she licked her lips softly and ran her fingers through her hair, pushing it from her face. "Ready as I'm ever gonna be..." She murmured, shrugging a bit. |

The morning after, it is always a time which doesn't come naturally with Haruka. For the moment, the young woman could be found upon her sleeping quarters. Her tent upon it's platform, and inside it would be a jumbled mess. Haruka who was sprawled out quite lazily, her cover tossed to it's side haphazardly. She of course wearing a more comfortable set of clothing being a loose fitting black tank top and a pair of equally loose fitting black shorts which cut off rather high. She would look rather peaceful and at ease considering the new leadership she was under. Though that would all change as it would be time to wake up. Gin being the one to call for it, though it wouldn't get her to budge. It only being as her "morning ally" a young man who got tired of seeing Malatoff yelling at her for sleeping in. He would do his usual thing and shake her tent, akin to knocking on her door aboard the ship to get her to wake. He wouldn't even wait to see the results, as he was walking away he could hear the familiar groan of the woman. Sure enough, inside the tent, her face would contort to being clearly unhappy, annoyed even. Sitting up quite slowly, she would only manage to get her body up to it's seated position for a grand four seconds before she just crumbled to her side. A known record for her who usually didn't last for two. That would be the thing however, though it would appear to anyone who didn't know her, if they could see her now anyways. It would seem as if she didn't get enough sleep, and certainly her wanting to enjoy the night just a bit longer would be a culprit. Though this was just how she reacted to the daytime every morning. It not being something she had noticed until after she left her island. Whether the sun just didn't agree with her at first, or her people's time frame of being active was at night everywhere else as well. She wouldn't know for the moment. Still, after some further attempts, and many agonized whines later she would manage to pull herself up enough to try and exit her tent. Though she would not be a sight to be welcomed. Clearly not ready to part with her sleeping quarters, she would have herself practically cocooned in her covers. Wrapped tightly around her body and head, shielding herself from the morning sun. Stepping out, she would slip into her socks and boots, this being the only thing of her attire she put back on, still wearing her bed time clothes under the covers. Many eyes would lock onto the sight which was Haruka, including the young man whom acted as her alarm clock who could only face palm at the display. Still none would dare say anything after Gin's display the previous day and would instead go about their duties. This would leave her to make her way for Gin who would offer her a cup of tea. If he would look under the "hood" which she had from what surrounded her. He would see a look of pure and utter exhaustion. So much so that in any other circumstance where she would have thanked the man for the gesture, her attempt to do so would just be a jumbled mess of noises that sounded like they wanted to be words, but didn't quite know how to get there. So she stood there, both hands which refused to leave the safety of the blanket simply cupping over the mug which she held closely out in front of her. She wouldn't even take a drink at the moment, just allowing the aroma to enter her nostrils as she stared blankly ahead. Wordlessly upon being asked if she were ready, she would grumble the word "Yeah...". Though whether she just couldn't be bothered, or already blanked out on the pack from Ginjo. She wouldn't make a move for it, fortunately however, that young man would be quick to right that wrong, hooking it up and over her head, followed by a smaller bag, her normal clothes, and her weapon hanging from it. This leaving her to stand there, swaying a bit from the weight. Still the young man would feel the need to explain it seemed as he faced Gin with a proper salute. She's always like this in the morning sir, just give her some time and she'll be back to normal again." He would warn, in a strangely not so formal manner, considering his leading action. He only watching as Haruka would lead the trio away and out of camp towards their goal, perhaps on just muscle memory alone. Edited by Shimura, Sep 29 2014, 02:37 AM.

Ginjo glanced toward Dahlia as she grumbled and then Haruka, and rubbing his face sighed. "I feel like I'm the only one that actually bothered to try and sleep ..." He muttered before he raised a hand. "It's alright. We'll wait for a bit to wake up." He commented simply as he got more more liquids distributed, tea or water being the only options at the moment. After about thirty minutes of everyone being awake, he would slowly stretch a bit and sigh- shaking his head as he glanced at the girls. They were going to be a pain with this- not sleeping when everyone else needed to was not the best way to have things roll out the way they need to when everyone else was supposed to awaken. Shaking his head he would finally rise up and dust himself off before raising a hand to get everyone's attention, "Alright. Hopefully everyone's more awake now ... let's try this again, everyone." He adjusted his pack as he waited patiently for Haruka to once more lead the way- once she finally caught herself up and awakened he would follow after. First making sure Dahlia was tagging along as he would then stretch a bit and unlock the katana at his side- this was not exactly friendly territory and he didn't want to take the risk that something may go wrong- and not be armed with his blade to deal with whatever it may be. Raising his hand up he pushed his hair back as they walked- keeping it free of his face and eyes as they narrowed on the horizon- however, despite this the traveling went fairly easy, the eight figures moving easily across the shores, the occasional slip- or what have you was the most of their troubles. Ginjo seemed content with this until the small base came into view- it was indeed, just that. Roughly three stories tall, and the size of a marine outpost. Slowly he tapped his fingertip against the blade- "There's the base ... but it looks a bit to quiet ..." He blinked as he glanced at the top where the canon was slowly turning toward them. "Oh no you don't ..." he muttered as he shot forward. The boom of the canonball as it fired, and he growled out- "Get behind cover!" Watching where the ball would fly from the trajectory of the canon, he spun as his blade was drawn- a flash before the ball fell into two chunks randomly on ether side of him with two hard thuds as the iron collided with the sands. He landed with a sigh as he lowered the tip toward the sandy grounds- "Weapons out- so much for stealth, they know we're here ..." he muttered as he eyed them re-loading the large canon, having gone into shock with the fact the boy had cut their iron canonball in half as he rapidly considered the options- before falling back. "We need to get around to the side where the ocean is- we'll have a advantage if Dahlia-chan is near the water." EDIT: TECHNIQUES USED

The time to sit didn't do much for Haruka whom could be found sitting upon a large rock, in her usual attire again after much convincing from that young man, face resting in her hands. It was very much so the look of someone who was very quite miserable, and had it not been for her little helper moving a make shift tent over this rock, it could have been worse. "Ugh, I hate that damn Sun!" She would groan these words, clearly whining at this point. Not even bothering to raise her head up to look away, or perhaps lacking the strength to do so. "It's alright Ruki-chan, you'll be fine again in no time." That young man would use these words as encouragement, but it only earned another groan from her. Still, when it was time to go, she would reluctantly get to her feet, slowly but surely, her eyes not showing the carefree nature she had last night. Of course for the crew she had sailed with to this island, this wasn't new. They always expected her to bounce back after a small lapse of time. For Ginjo and Dahlia however, this would be their first time seeing her adjust to seeing the sun again after the night passed. "Why does it have to even exist?" She would continue, even after a small brief of time, she not over the fact quite yet. When the question was given, whether or not she was ready, it would leave her to slowly blink her eyes, staring back at Ginjo which said everything, does she look ready? A blank expressionless face which would slowly nod it's head. This was about as ready as she was going to be. Thankfully, the trip was rather uneventful, which was good due to her current mood. Though that would just seem to change once they had reached the enemies camp, and they shot off a cannon. As sluggish as she was during the walk here, she would do as she was told, though not without her aggravation of the situation setting in. Lips peeled back, almost as if she had a pair of fangs, she would not be happy as she slid her arm blade onto her right arm. Flexing and releasing her hand to ensure it was on comfortably. Now was NOT the time to be doing this to her, and she was determined to make the enemy pay for it. Ginjo would mention needing to hit them from the side and give their shark girl companion on advantage. With a quick survey of the land, the natural hills of the island, it shouldn't be difficult. "If we stay low and use the land, we can get pretty far in that direction and only be exposed a minimal amount." She would suggest, in a helpful yet still low tone. Ginjo blinked a bit, watching how grouchy the young woman was as he gave a soft shake of his head with a grin. "We need to find a way to help you get up in the morning. Maybe coffee, that helps Tetzou-Sama alot." He commented as they had walked- of course once they got there and the real trouble began things changed up just a bit. The canonball he had sliced falling to bits to ether side as he lightly bounced a foot against the ground in thought- eyeing the building as he kept himself limber. Once he heard the pale skinned young woman's recommendation he nodded a bit- "Perfect." he commented before he shot off down the side- the other marines left to stare in surprise. His footing in the sand was bad- but he didn't have much of a choice right now. Dashing to the side he followed the idea of his new ally, ducking under large hills of land- calling over his shoulder, "Listen to what Haruka tells you all! We need to stay as safe as possible before we get there!" With this he took off at his top speed, kicking sand up behind him as his blade remaining in-hand, always prepared. The sands shifted as he moved, but he ignored it as best he could as he felt the canonballs slam into the hills of sand and rock he ducked and dodged around constantly- it was good cover, Haruka had been right. After about ten minutes of this fiasco of slowly making his way closer and closer to the walls, he shot to the left- dashing along the wall itself. He trusted Haruka would be able to manage the men long enough for him to clear them a path. As he moved he leap up- scaling the walls with ease, using the blade for a spring each time it stabbed into the space between the bricks as he dashed along before landing with a dull thud on the top of the wall- giving a bit of an impish grin to the face of the shocked pirate that stood there. It didn't last long before his eyes hardened, a firm kick sending him screaming to his death over the edge back into the outpost. The remaining pirates on the wall- needless to say, stopped firing canonballs and were more focused on the man with a sword dashing at them on the wall. The guns were drawn but he easily saw past them, calculating the trajectory and moving out of the way before the bullets fired, easily avoiding them. He dashed forward, feet digging into the stone as he bobbed and weaved through them- the screams of men that his blade met filled the air. Hearing them fall with a dull thud, though none were dead- even the one that had fallen had been skillfully kicked into a buildings hay roof so that he was likely unconscious- not deceased. The men that fell around him held broken chests and arms, shattered legs and so forth- groaning in pain from the damage done from the flat-side of his blade as he carefully checked the rest of the wall, which was scattered with the groaning- or the unconscious. It seemed clear, which just left those within the buildings that he could hear desperately rolling defensive canons, loading guns and so forth below him. Moving toward the gate, he dropped down- catching the level as he did so, causing the gate to roll open with the sound of grinding gears as he waved Haruka and the crew in. "Yo~ Step two!" |

It would possibly come as no surprise that Haruka wouldn't react to the words of Gin regarding the coffee. Only a small groan from her, though her friend seemed more than happy to oblige with two cents on her behalf. "With all due respect sir, unless you intend too...." He would stop himself as he brought up a closed hand, coughing against it as if to signal that even her found the next half of that sentence to be a bit ludicrous. "...Blow up the sun, I doubt she will ever wake in a good mood." The look on his face said it all. His eyes which traveled to Haruka, an uneasy look of both sympathy and slight amusement. Still, as the time to strike rose. She would do the best that she could with what she had, her mind still a bit foggy due to the exhaustion the morning sun gave her. Still she would as Gin went over the wall lead these men. Her ears listening intently as she followed him around until the gate was opened for them. It would be a point to which she would simply raise her bladed arm into the air, allowing the men to see before she rushed in. Practically flying past Gin as the troop would follow suit. Her eyes would lock onto the Pirates who would be making their way toward the source of the noise, their attack. The first unlucky person to the scene would be a young man. With a growl, Haruka draw her right arm back and with precision, she would thrust the blade forward, the steel ripping through flesh and erupting out the other side of this man with a mist of blood. The sound of metal clanking against the stone wall behind him. Surely to the rookies, this would have seemed like a killing blow as this man was left to scream out. Though when one looked just a bit closer, they would see she aimed high. Her blade impaling him through the shoulder rather than any vital spots. She was just looking to incapacitate him, and she would do that as he dropped his weapon to look after his wound. Fortunately he would be allowed to do that as a young woman would be to his rescue. She delivering a stiff kick as she practically dove in, catching Haruka by surprise and driving her to the ground. The Crimson Fang who was far to focused on that one target caught off guard. She would slide a good foot before rolling over and catching her footing again. using the momentum to get back up. Once more she would find herself with tunnel vision as her eyes would lock onto this woman before her. Though, was she the only thing standing in their way, or was she one of many to squash the Marine's attempts? One thing was for sure as Haru raised her weapon upon getting back to a full vertical base, this woman was hers. Edited by Shimura, Oct 10 2014, 05:30 AM.

Gin smirked as Haruka managed to do just as he asked and some- getting them close, and then on top of such getting them in and through the gate the moment it happened. Smirking to himself he spun and shot after her, feet clicking against the stone as he leap left and right- arching a brow as he saw her take down a Pirate and smiled a bit. He was still alive, good. Nodding his eyes narrowed on the one that had attacked her in-exchange, his blade flashed out but was halted a mere few inches from the woman's chest, the blunt side of the blade grinding against the edge of a long dirk. He didn't even give the one who blocked time to brag, Gin's leg shot out and the crack of someone being kicked where the sun didn't shine filled the air. A soft squeak was heard, before the man slowly fell to his knee's- he was stronger than the rest, but still not that strong. He hadn't even moved to block that kick when Gin went full speed. Shaking his head he spun once more- delivering a roundhouse that sent the man flying into unconsciousness as the boy's heel collided with his temple and sent him flying head over heel's along the side. "Pay attention to your surroundings, Haruka-chan." He commented lightly as he eyed the woman she was fighting, deciding it was better for Haruka to focus on one stronger opponent then many weak in her current state. Raising his blade he spun and instead went on a knock-out streak. The pirates fell like flies, they were fodder at best- none worth the effort really but it needed done to keep his men safe and overtake the base. Still- this was the Grand Line, surely they had been attracted by a stronger pirate? It couldn't have been the one early on, could it? Frowning some he shrugged and gave a sigh as he ran along, before raising a hand and slamming it down- the man it landed on spitting up blood as the punch slammed into his gut and sent him hard into the earth. Slowly rising back to his full height his eyes carefully examining the remaining pirates that were laying down arms- rifles aimed at them as they did so. It didn't feel right, taking it so easily. He rubbed his chin and slowly glanced to Haruka to see how she fared against her chosen stronger-opponent and instead let his foot dig into the stone. Obviously if the young woman was fairing badly he would come to her assistance- but if she was doing just fine, or had already won, he would stay as he was- looking at the surrounding stone walls carefully. Surely there was someone, or something else- it was never this easy, not even in the blues. But nothing came. It worried him a bit as he sighed and slowly let his gaze travel back to Haruka and the men. "Let's get them gathered and tossed in the village jail- wherever that is. We need the city clean so afterward we need to do a sweep." |

For Haruka, nothing else mattered at this moment, everything else was a blur. Perhaps this in large due to her current state she found herself in, just like any other morning. Gin's words would be more like a blur than anything as she focused on her target. She barely making note of the attempt of Gin to step in and he being halted. Haruka would raise her arm, and in turn her blade toward the woman, she blood of the young man she had spared the discomfort of having it's steel rip through his flesh, it dripped from her "fang". For everyone else, it was like seeing an entirely different person each day when they saw her, was this how her people were? Wordless in her approach, Haruka would dash forward, seeming pretty confident as she drew her blade back and thrust it forward, much like she had before. She expecting the same results, though would be quite disappointed, surprised even when her blade struck nothing but the air. This woman would side step and before Haruka even had a chance to react, she would feel her arm wrapping around her neck. This woman as opposed to stepping around her to initiate a sleeper hold, or choke Haruka out, would in stead keep her hip facing her back and would swiftly pop said hip as she yanked her victim back, flipping her backward and practically spiking her head into the ground as this woman dropped down with her. Many of the Marine's who were able to watch would grimace as they watched one of their stronger people in Haruka get countered so easily. Though this woman's options would not look good for her. The men around her had already fallen and yet, the man responsible was sitting not that far away overlooking what she was doing. For a brief moment she contemplated running, but she doubted she would get far, surrounded on all sides. She getting the sense that this man would just run her down anyhow. Looking down upon Haruka who was shakily getting back to her feet, giving her head a good shake or two to get rid of the cobwebs that caused. It would seem to get a smirk from the woman who made up her mind, she was going to go down swinging. Haruka would barely be given a moment to breath before her eye's locked onto the woman charging him. A trained hand which was aimed for her temple. It would cause Haruka to take a step back quickly. Though the woman whom was far faster would prove this by placing a knee into her gut. Getting a rush of air to escape Hauka's lips, she gasping for anything to refill her lungs. She wouldn't get much though as this woman would step in, locking her arms around her waist. Positioning Haruka's head to her hip as she allowed her front side to rest against her back. With another pop of her hips, she would rip Hauka off the ground, pivoting around as she brought Hauk'a body up and over, fully intending on slamming her back first into the ground, a trend in her style it seemed. Fortunately, Haruka would have enough in her to use this momentum to rotate herself just enough to get her feet into the ground. Breaking her hold and rolling for safety. Annoyed by the escape of the Marine, the Pirate wouldn't allow her to breathe, fulling sold on a bulldog strategy, she would rush in. Though for a showing of life, Haruka would be prepared for such a thing and she would bring her right arm up, showing the blunt side of her blade which she would then smash forward into the woman's face. Much like someone would do with a shield. Catching her off guard, she would be left to stumble back as Haruka tried to use the advantage. Stepping in and throwing her weight into a kick or two. Though as well executed as they were, this woman, even holding her nose would simply duck and step back to avoid them. Annoyed in her own right, Haruka would take a last ditch effort to land another blow. Throwing her body forward as she whipped around backside. She looking to catch this Pirate in the ribs with the heel of her boots whilst she balanced on her left foot. She would connect, but not in a manner which she wanted. This woman would catch her foot and immediately lock it into place as her arm slammed down to cradle it. Off balance by this point, Haru's eye's would widen as this woman with expertise used a leg to sweep Haru's balance from under her. Forcing Haru face first into the ground. Without even a bit of hesitation, she would step forward, over the leg she had in her arms and drop down as it was positioned between her legs. Using her own legs to trap it, she would then reach over across Haruka's body and lock her right arm up under her chin, before locking her hands together. From here she would pull back, stretching Haruka's body and leaving her to cry out in pain whilst she would merely chuckle at the dismay of the woman. her eye's would float up to Haru's fellow comrades. Marine's who looked on horrified by what they saw. many wanting to do something, but knowing that if Haru couldn't beat her, they stood no chance in hell. "Let me do you a favor, and just end you now. A weakling like you and your friends won't last here a week." She would boldly announce both to Haru and the Marine's too afraid to do anything. Though her eyes were currently not on the potential savior for the moment. |

Cool eyes traveled toward the pair that was clashing, Haruka was on the loosing end- and slowly he raised a hand to his forehead, sighing as he waited- watched. She wasn't doing badly- but she was fighting her on the pirates terms, the opposite of what she needed to do. Still, she held her own fairly well- but as soon as the woman took Haruka down and started to stretch her- Ginjo acted. Flashing forward as he landed beside the pair, and a kick that held enough force to cause another burst of air slammed into the woman's head from behind, the force spinning her clean over to slam face-first into the solid stone ground with a loud crack. He didn't bother saying anything as he would gently help Haruka up, "You did good. You can do better though." He commented with a slight smile, before glancing at the woman who was likely completely unconscious and suffering two severe concussions. Stretching he simply turned and glanced around the town- "Alright we have a job to do! Everyone thats uninjured or in good enough condition haul them all into the cells. I'm going to survey the outpost and see what we're working with, Haruka- I'm trusting you to get them all in cells, maximum of three per cell- cuff the stronger ones behind their backs to ensure they stay down." Gin offered a simple smile before he turned and leap forward, dashing up the wall and grabbing the edge before hauling himself over to the top where he managed to stretch a bit and eye the surrounding area. He was rusty ... but he would shake off the dust and get back into his normal stature soon enough. Gin made sure to examine the surrounding area as well as the rest of the town- noting it was fairly quiet now that the pirates were down and taken care of, he raised himself up on the edge of the wall- and moved toward the gate where he yanked the lever once more- slamming it closed with a crash. "There ... now we're sealed in and the revolutionaries are sealed out. This is more secure as well." He called down, grinning as he leap down with a soft thud and moved toward the jails- "There's enough houses for us to have more room- looks like a small armory and what used to be a barracks ... the Pirates turned it into the jail. It's pretty big." He frowned, heading forward toward the said "Jail" that Haruka and the men likely were tossing people into as he tucked his hands into his pockets. "I wonder where the outpost's citizens went ..." He frowned at the thought, glancing toward the buildings around them in confusion- the dead silence was disturbing. |

A clear look of pain was in Haruka's eyes as she gasped for breath. This woman was wrenching back with her hold, cutting off Haru's air supply whilst simultaneously looking to snap her in half. The words of this woman would only earn a growl from this woman who did what she could to try and fight back, but it was all for nothing. This woman was preparing for one final snap before she would end Haruka's struggled and then....Gin would save the day. Haru's vision which was beginning to blur would soon meet the stone ground as the woman was forced to let go from the kick Gin had delivered. It would come as a surprise to her as well, as much as she would be a bit shocked if still trying to get her breath back as Gin would help her up. She didn't expect to see this man actually react well tot he fact she lost. He would even compliment her to which her only response was to cough and get air back in her lungs. "I'm sorry sir, I'll try not to let it happen again..." She would respond still in fear of the repercussions she thought were coming. her time under Malatoff returning once more. Though it would perhaps annoy him to a degree, to be referred to as sir, he would still have a positive thing, she was sounding a bit closer to what she had been yesterday. Still a bit groggy, but that woman seemed to wake her up a bit. With a small nod, still keeping her distance, Haruka would do as she was told in rounding up the Pirates. Her target of course being the woman who beat her. "Cuff the strong he said..." She would reply with a bit of mischievous glee to her voice. The trip would not be good for the out cold woman either. Though she wouldn't be awake to feel it, being purposely drug across stone ground was not going to be the best thing to wake up too. Still, she would follow the men to the cells. She paying little mind to what the others were doing, a few shouts being thrown out here and there. Just the typical background noise when dealing with inmates she supposed. All she needed to do was make sure her opponent got locked up safely. Opening the door to a cell she would toss her in, watching her fall back down with no fight before slamming the door with a grin. Sure she may have lost, but at least Haruka would get the final laugh it seemed. Though she had to admit, the woman's words were sticking with her more than she would like.....weakling. Still, she would be able to just shake it free of her mind as she turned to look towards the other cells, sensing something was off. Edited by Shimura, Oct 13 2014, 03:34 AM.

He patted Haruka's head lightly with a sigh, "No calling me sir. You did fine, you learn more from a loss than a victory." He commented with a smile, before he then moved about his business- it wasn't hard to make sure all of them had been gathered as he stood there tapping his foot with a frown. All the other marines were celebrating- patching up minor wounds, but with Ginjo and Haruka's strategies and strength they had managed to take the outpost with no real losses. This was a good thing, but still Ginjo couldn't shake the feeling that something was very off. Slowly he rubbed his neck as he sighed and leaned down, examining the stones of the flooring as he tried to think of the options that could cause something to be off. "This isn't right." He mumbled under his breath, before sighing and letting it go to the back of his mind for now as he straitened up. "Alright, well done everyone. Now we have a much more secure base of operations, one person per each tower will be on nightwatch. Rotating just like before- so get that sorted out between you all. Haruka, come here for a moment." Gin motioned for her to come along after him and he moved forward before heading into the main hall where he turned, making sure they were alone before he arched a brow. "How the back and throat?" It was the first question on his mind- before he started anything else to severe. Once he was certain the young woman was fairly healthy, he would then cross his arms over his chest and arch a brow. "Now then, the more serious question- does something feel really, really wrong to you?" He murmured, his eyes trailing along the walls of the the main hall for the outpost. "This place isn't as big as a town, but it's got room for about fifty to seventy civilians to live comfortably. The pirates were barely even worth a real fight, there's no way this is the limit of a crew that made it to the Grand Line." He rubbed the bridge of his nose, "I don't know what it is, but it's bugging me. None of it makes sense, so I wanted another view of it all." He let his eyes linger on her as he tilted his head a bit, "What about you? Notice anything else beyond that?" He asked with a frown, rubbing the back of his neck as he tried to think out of the box- what could be going on that an entire outpost of people, including the marines guarding them, were just- gone? On top of that, why the hell did none of them have any real combat skill and power beyond two of them who were barely stronger than Haruka in level? Ginjo's sigh echoed in the empty halls as he ruffled his hair a bit in aggravation- none of it made sense in his head, there was no way anyone was that stupid to follow a pair like that into the Grand Line. Perhaps left and right hand men to someone? Then where was the captain? Edited by HeartOfLight, Oct 13 2014, 09:51 AM.

To be pulled off to the side wasn't exactly a new thing for Haruka. Many a time had this very thing happened, just so she could be yelled at more by Malatoff. Granted Gin seemed to want and keep morale high, she wouldn't have been surprised that in privacy that she would be ridiculed over her loss, no matter how much he tried to assure her it was alright. Her walk behind him was a grim one as she observed the men and woman enjoying the taste of success, although none of them really contributed much. Boots on the ground, that's what they were and all they really accomplished was to be witnesses to her getting her ass kicked. Once the duo was clear, the man would seem to ask about her wounds rather than what she expected. Something which caught her a bit off guard as her eyes would widen for a fraction of a second in surprise. It would take even longer for her to register a response to it. "With all due respect, I feel like an accordion. My back and neck both are a bit sore, but everything considered, I'll survive." She would answer, her tone regaining it's bit of cheer, though she remained to the point with it. "Some rest will do me good I'd wager." Of course whatever Gin's response to her condition would be, he would still seem to move on to the heart of the matter. Far from the way that he had been feeling, Haruka herself couldn't help but feel it herself that something didn't seem right. "The quiet you mean?" She would question just before Gin would go on about his concerns. Each word accepted with a nod of her head as she considered it. She couldn't help but wonder herself, now knowing it wasn't just her. What was it that felt like it didn't belong? "To be blunt Cap, we captured this base a bit too easily." She would answer truthfully. Her opponent still clear in her mind, and even though she lost, the fact that Gin was able to get rid of her in a single blow meant she wasn't worth that much right? Enough to beat Haruka, but the pale young woman knew she was the equivalent of garbage in these waters. "I don't believe we've seen anything close to what the Pirates have to offer in strength." Her voice would be quite solemn as she said this, knowing that if it were true, she stood no chance in the up coming battles and if she didn't the others sure as hell were dead in the water. "Which would make me fear what could be more important to their true muscle than guarding the outpost..." Crossing her arms over her chest, she would beg the statement to find a rebuttal from her Captain. "Something to do with the missing citizens perhaps?" She would add in. He frowned a bit at her comment that she felt like an accordion, leaning against the wall with a sigh. "You'll need some rest, you're sleeping tonight in that case- I know you prefer the night but I can't let you charge in still sore. As it is you're pushed to your limit in fights here." He frowned before he moved toward the window of the room, examining the outpost as he leaned against the sill- listening to her views as he stroked his chin lightly in thought. "... Slavers?" He murmured as his eyes narrowed dangerously- his father had been a slave. He had lost his education, a chance at a life with his father and mother, because of slavers. He had been forced to have his gentle soul stained with the blood of murder to survive. Slavers deserved death. His grip on the windowsill- and the wood cracked under his grip as he slowly rose up and took a slow breath. "Thank you, Haruka. I have so many thoughts it's really hard to get my head around specific idea's sometimes ..." He murmured, glancing toward her with a slight smile- but his eyes still held that hard, cold look. Slowly he rose up, dusting himself off a bit and sighed, patting her shoulder (very gently, her pain in mind) and stated simply- "Go get some rest. We're going to stay here for a bit ... may as well get used to it and relax. We need to find out where the slavers are stationed and that Intel will take time to gather." Gin rubbed at the back of his neck as he continued, "Just try and sleep for me, alright? Get a good meal in you with the men and then hit the sack. I need you to heal. We don't know when someone is going to actually pop up in a pair, if I can only handle one of them- you'll have to protect the others. You'll have even more trouble if your sore and tired like today ... you could have beaten her if you had fought carefully- and been at your best." He smiled a bit, not scolding so much as pointing the facts out before giving her a nod and heading back out the door into the other men- the pirates beginning to wake up. "Alright. As they wake up, inform me ... the ones that look the weakest- chain and drag them to my new office." He pointed at the stairs above the "prison". "Those of you that aren't doing that, clean up the living sections, check supplies and make sure this place is clean. No fungus, rats, or anything like that- don't worry about the entire outpost, but the rooms we'll be sleeping in and this prison. Get everything in the best level you can- only after a meal though. We've all earned that I think." He grinned a bit, the men giving a whoop of approval as they started rushing about to check the prisons supplies and their own to see what could be made for a meal for everyone. "Don't feed the pirates yet." He stated simply, the marines nodding as they continued their cooking. |

Haruka would frown at the idea of "being sent to bed early" by her Captain, especially as he would mention he knew her preference of nightfall. Even if she herself had said she needed a bit of rest, she could still dislike the idea, right? What more was the fact that he understood where her limits were in the span of a two minute fight which she lost, a depressing thought indeed. Still she would push it from her mind as she heard him say a single word, "Slavers". "Yes, Slavers are a possibility..." She would add in, only to raise a brow at the action he took. Squeezing the windowsill to the point of cracking. "You alright?" She would inquire, a bit confused by his reaction to the situation. Sure it sucked, but there was obviously a bit more going on in his mind. Unfortunately, before long, whether he would mention it or not, he would be sending her on her way with his thanks and a bit of advice on her combat. Still a bit off guard, she would slowly nod a head, a questioning look on her face as she just slowly took a step back to allow him to pass her as he made his way back to the men. For a moment, she would stand there, running a few things through her head, though ultimately without knowledge it would be just a dead end and by all accounts, a waste of time. Taking her time to follow him, she able to hear him shouting the orders from where they were standing. She would join him at his side as she entered the room. She coming in as a particular order caught her attention. "Looking to squeeze a bit of info out of the fodder?" She would nonchalantly question as she eyed a few of said candidates up. The small time Pirates who probably just earned their title a week ago. "I'm not too sure how helpful they will be, they are little more than eye candy to make their ranks seem more impressive than it is, in my eyes anyways." Her question followed by her own input would be completely in passing. She of course not aware of just what Gin had in mind, but she was certainly prepared to make a good guess. Though even then, she was quite blunt in sharing her lack of faith in it being successful, if that was what he was doing. She would stand there next to him, waiting to see if he filled her in. Though it wouldn't be long before the men who were designated the cooks began to work their magic, and it would slowly draw Haruka to that side of the room. Edited by Shimura, Oct 15 2014, 04:19 AM.
