As the branches were raising Daniel up into the air, he was doing his best to try and use his poison against the vines to get himself out of his situation. The poison he was creating around his feet didn't really seem to be having any effect upon the branches that were trapped there. "First dinosaurs attack me, now even this tree is wanting to hurt me?" He yelled out, a bit of blood starting to flow more and more to his brain. As he was about to coat himself in poison to try and escape the grasp of the roots, a few more ones came up towards his face, sprouting some of the familiar flowers that poisoned the non-harmful lizard. "I've got to get out of this!" He said, deciding to go all out, coating himself in the poison to lower people's stamina within a fight. Maybe it could work on trees, right?

Well, due to the bark of the trees it didn't really seem to want to work at first, the grip upon him as strong as ever. However, just as it seemed like Daniel wasn't going to catch a break, he started slowly falling out of the grip of the tree before he started plummeting straight towards the ground. Well, he mostly thought it through after all. The landing was a bit rough, but luckily he was able to stand up on his own after he plummeted. Just as the poison armor he was using dissolved onto the ground, the tree branches were starting back up once again. "I'm getting real tired of you!" He said, bitterly at this point. Right now, his hat was gone, his Marine uniform was all dirtied up or torn in most places, and the branches were still after him.

Plus it would only be a matter of time until Amezuko and the others came after him. Which, in reality, meant he didn't really have long to keep fighting for. As the branches around him were making themselves into almost a circular fighting arena, Daniel started summoning more poison around his hands to fight back. "Double Claw!" He called out, shooting two claw-like things of poison to try and melt through part of the branches. Well, it had some success, as the branches were falling apart some just as Daniel's attacks were hitting. Unfortunately though, more branches covered up the ones that Daniel was destroying.

"I'm... trapped." He said, gulping at the realization. Unfortunately at the moment, no matter what he was doing the branches kept coming back and back. It was as if he was almost in some bad horror movie, and the lord of the forest was wanting him to die. Actually, for all he knew that could be the reason as to why he was in this mess in the first place. The branches around him started to bloom with the white flower petals once again, and Daniel knew what was going to be coming next. "No, I don't want to end up like that, other dinosaur!" He called out, getting a bit desperate now.

Bringing forth as much poison as he possibly could, he shot all he had out of his mouth and towards the sides of the little 'cage' he was in. It started melting most of it, however it wasn't doing good enough as the white powder was already starting to float in around him. As his roar ended, the stuff started getting into his nostrils and his mouth as he started coughing, the world around him starting to go dizzy for a moment.

Just before he passed out he let out a scream.

While he wasn't a pro at it by any means, the fishman found his observation haki to be pretty damn reliable when it came to situations such as these and as such he began to do a scan of the area in order to get a good idea of were they could find Daniel in the middle of the jungle. Fortunately, it seemed that he wasn't too far away and hadn't really moved from where he had disappeared to which he wasn't sure if that were a good thing or not. The fact that the Lieutenant Commander was still able to find his presence though at least meant he hadn't died though so now it would just be a test against time to be sure things stayed that way. Unfortunately, during this scan he also managed to find something else that wasn't quite as hear warming. Although in another moments one wouldn't really need supernatural abilities to understand what was going on as the earth would start to shake and tremble and the soldiers as well as Kyuu would begin to realize what was going on.

"Everyone begin to head south east right now! Move!" He roared to the crew who seemed shocked at first but soon began to make their way in the indicated direction as Amezoku faced the opposite way. The path he pointed them in would lead right to Daniel and whatever was going on with him at the moment. As he motioned for them to leave he also got several of the men to lift up Kyuu and take her with them, much to her own disdain, as he could hear her voice yelling at him but slowly trailing off into the distance as they covered more and more ground. He would also find the voice of his daughter being drowned out by the sounds of heavy rumbling and quaking as the threat grew more and more near. Finally, after a bit of time though the shark man would find himself face to face with the impending storm. Well, in this case it was more like an entire herd of stampeding Triceratops that were coming his way, but either way he would need to slow them down or else they would be catching up to his crew in no time at all.

From the distance he could see them coming at him and was ready to face possible death if it meant the others could get out in one piece, but soon enough the marine found his body lifted high into the air from behind as he sat upon something large and rough and was soon whisked away into the direction that the crew went toward. Looking down he realized that he was on top of the dinosaur from before that he had helped saved from the parasite. "Are you sure you can make it after what happened?" He questioned the beast while placing an open palm against its back to get an idea of what its aura said and while the fishman couldn't be entirely sure it seemed that the triceratops was confident in its ability at the moment and the best he could do was to be confident in it as well. He grinned a toothy grin before rising to his feet and steadying himself on the charging creature. Alright, then I'll do my best to slow them down. Just be sure to slow down so we can pick up my friends."[/color] Looking to the stampeding herd, the fishman karate master drew back his hands as water began to gather in between them. "Saaaaaameeeeee....Haaaaameeeeeee" As he did this more and more of the water began to form in between his hands as the dials continued to spew like a hose. The more that gathered however the more concentration is took in order for him to all hold it in one massive ball. Once the build up felt to be too much however it was then that Amezoku let it loose in one massive torrent, blasting forth like a horizontal waterfall. Ha! It had been enough to knockback a few of the beasts and overall slow down the stampede, but they were definitely still coming for them.

Soon enough though, the unlikely duo would come across his crew that had been sent off ahead and although they were shocked to see their leader riding on a dinosaur many of them were grateful for the ride as the fishman hoisted them up on to the creature's back and other used its tail as a means of getting up to safety. All that said and done though, the only thing left was to pick up Daniel to be sure he didn't wind up trampled to death. It was then that they would enter the area where the pirate pretending to be a marine would be found along with all of the strange things that had attacked him.

The former Prince felt like he was dreaming. He dreamed he was simply in an open grassy field, surrounded by nothing but more and more grass. He was standing in the center of it all, waiting for something to happen. It was weird, he couldn't move anything but his own head as he looked about. Just as everything seemed super peaceful, something weird was happening above him at first. The clear, sky blue atmosphere was soon being replaced with blood red skies above him. The grassy plains around him were soon being replaced with fire, as the entire field was catching on fire around him. It seemed everything peaceful about him was soon going to be nothing but fire, as it seemed that everything was going to be caught in the raging inferno.

He tried moving himself, but his body wouldn't move. He was trapped at the moment, trapped in that fiery inferno as it came around him, creeping closer and closer as it tried to consume him. He wanted to scream, however no matter what no sounds came out of his mouth. He was all alone, dying in the flames of rage by himself.

When he woke up, he was already standing back up, sweat dripping down the sides of his face as if there were rain going on above him. He didn't have long to figure out what was going on before the ground beneath him started shaking. He looked up to see a group of rampaging dinosaurs coming straight for him. However, instead of them just being alone there were... people riding them? Was that the Fishman on the front runner of the group?

He wanted to wave, but bringing up his hand was a pain at the moment. He tried moving it again, however this time it burned some. It was quickly followed by a cooling sensation right after. Which was very weird. Is my body fighting whatever was injected into me...? He thought, trying to figure out a solution to this scenario quickly. Just as he was trying to move though, the vines came up from around him and started going straight for the group of dinosaurs. It was weird, the more he wanted to yell to warn them, the stronger his body didn't want want him to do anything.

The fiery, cooling sensation became stronger as something in his head started yelling at him. Which was weird, he didn't remember anything wanting to get inside his head to tell him what to do. It was as if it was commanding him to attack the group, but he didn't want to at all. Just as it was at the peak of telling him to attack, the cooling sensation hit him with a moment to allow him to yell. "Get back! These vines are going to attack you!" He yelled with all his might, wanting to give as much warning to the Marine group as he could.

Just after he yelled, two vines went up, wrapping around him in a shackle-like picture as the rest of them went forward, wanting to attack the group of dinos that were on a rampage.

Sitting on top of a dinosaur with his entire marine expedition group as they ran away from a rushing stampede of more dinosaurs was a very surreal feeling, or at least it was for Amezoku, and this was coming from a guy who had ridden on several of the strange sea creatures that were common to the area of Fishman Island back when he was a young adult. It almost seemed like something out of a book or tall tale a Commander would tell to his recruits or something in order to play up an otherwise boring mission that they had taken. Still, the rush of the wind against his blue skin and a feeling of excitement welling up inside made the moment that much greater, even if they were in a pretty drastic position. That fishman karate attack from earlier had definitely done a good job in widening the distance gap, but the triceratops they were riding on was not in the best shape after everything that had happened before and carrying a small group of people wasn't helping.

Fortunately, they had already reached their destination and just in time to see...Daniel getting grabbed my a massive plant like creature. Well that wasn't the greeting he had been expecting. His mind pictured something more along the lines of more scaly beasts wreaking havoc, but this was new. No matter, the objective was still the same, and that was to make sure everyone got out of this in one piece. The Lieutenant Commander couldn't help but wonder why he wasn't really fighting back against the green menace though. Even back on Poplar when he was fighting against those slavers after being locked up and seastone cuffed he fought ten times harder than this. "Men, cover our rears. I'm going to give our new recruit a hand. Don't aim to kill though, merely wound or slow them down." He commanded the men who seemed to agree with his decision and moved towards the end of the dino they were riding and opening fire upon the stampede with rifles and bazookas. The soldiers weren't all that impressive and nor was the weaponry they were packing, but it was enough to make a difference no matter how small, and every second counted when trying to avoid being trampled upon.

Amezoku was more focused on what was going on with these plants though as several branch like appendages made their way towards them and seemed to be aiming to take down their dinosaur rather than the crew on top of it. It made sense after all, the triceratops appeared to be a much greater threat than them and was a much larger host if this thing was the source of that parasite from before. Damn,, it was a sham he didn't have time to get on the ground and really show this shrub who was the boss here, but he would manage from here. Wetting his right hand, he flicked it forward and shot a barrage of water bullets for a couple of the vines that were coming their way, tearing them to shred in the process. Unfortunately, there were way too many coming their way for the marine to really half ass it like that. Wetting both hands now he flicked them both forward and released even more water bullets before doing it once more and again. The repeated attack creating a maelstrom of water based projectiles that easily tore through the appendages before they could even so much as touch a hair on the group's head. Lastly he fired one more set, this time aiming to cut Daniel free. If successful the kid should have been an easy catch from their current position.

The next minute or two all seemed like a blur to Daniel in that moment. He was starting to struggle against the vines that held him in place, but being that high off the ground was a really bad thing for him at the current moment. Looking over, he watched the vines take on the group of dinosaurs with the Marines riding upon the one out in front. The Dinosaurs seemed to respond on their own at the moment though, as the stampeding herd went after the Marines some, but the vines were distracting them as well. It was really a sight to behold, one which Daniel thought he could tell about later but knowing how badly he could describe things it wouldn't go well in the end.

As the Marines started fighting on the two fronts, one Fishman jumped to the front, bound and determined to seemingly get Daniel out of the pickle he had gotten himself into. The man brought forth bullets of water to cut him out of the vines, each one hitting the mark to get the ones surrounding him at the moment. The vines were cut, and all of a sudden his body felt cool again, as if something had gotten out of him for a moment. "Shit!" He yelled out, as he quickly began falling down towards the ground. He thought about using his powers to get him out of the situation he was in. Either that, or wait for the Fishman to hopefully catch him.

As he was falling a few vines were already going around him, trying to catch him to contain him once again. He didn't want to be caught by these, but he didn't really have a choice of the other Fishman didn't stop him or anything.

It seemed that the boy must have been under the effects of drugs or something similar to that as all of his movements were slow and groggy and he seemed like he was only half awake despite being in a pretty damn dire situation. A flower of some sort suspending him in the air with unknown intentions while a stampede of dinosaurs began to bring up the rear in their wild frenzy. "Hell of a time to sleep, boy...." The fishman spoke aloud as he began to fling more bullets of water upwards in order to intercept the incoming vines. Such a tenacious shrub this thing was, although it seemed more like it wanted to avoid having its pride hurt rather than being hellbent on getting the young pirate specifically. Regardless of intention however, the fishman was determined to get every single one of his men out of this situation alive and so far things were going....decent.

As the watery shrapnel tore through the vines once more he managed to catch the chore boy and placed him gently down on the triceratops's back. "Someone secure our new recruit and be sure he doesn't fall off. I'll see what I can do about our situation." Stepping toward the tail end of the dinosaur once more he looked out to the herd of wild beasts much like before but stopped before preparing any more of his fishman karate techniques as something was different now. It seemed like they were slowing down as the distance gap between the marines and their group was growing by the second even with all of the weight that their current method of transportation had to carry. It took a rather precise eye, but soon enough he could see just what happened as soon enough a large mass of vines began to spread out from the forest and slow the beast down as they struggled to escape its grasp. Even with their suffering though, now wasn't the time to be sympathetic. They would need to regroup and figure out what was going on.

After they felt to be a safe distance away the fishman asked their prehistoric companion to stop as they got off of its back and set up camp. Petting its head he allowed it a good long rest. "Hahaha, you did great girl, thanks for all of the help." In the time that he had been treating her wounds earlier after their fight he noticed the gender of the dinosaur and had even given her name.

"Didn't know you were such an animal person." The pink haired scientist chimed in from her wheelchair as she was inspecting a sample from a nearby tree where they were resting. It seemed that the area they were in was mostly calm, evident by her own research as well as the fact that nothing had tried to ensnare them for the time being. The sharkman lifted up an eyebrow. "Yeah, I guess I never did tell you, but back when I was younger and stayed around the Fishman Island area I had a pet sea bear by the name of Daisy. A lot of people say that sea bears are ferocious or blood thirty creatures but they don't know the first thing about them, hahaha." Truth be told, the time frame in which he was talking about was back when he had been a pirate, but the Lieutenant Commander decided to leave that part out, he was already working hard enough to gain the trust of these men without them knowing he used to be a criminal. He also hid the fact that upon first meeting Daisy that she actually tried to kill their crew, but it all worked out for the best in the end right?

"With our new recruit being in pretty bad shape and night fall coming soon though, I feel that it would be safest to rest here for the night and move again in the morning. In all the chaos earlier it would seem that we strayed quite a bit from the safe path laid out for us before, but as evident earlier it seemed that our information is pretty outdated given the circumstances anyway." As much as he didn't want to have to spend a night here, it was the only choice for them. Sure they could probably make it back to the ship before night's end, but they would also have to spend quite a bit of time traveling in the darkness and that wasn't an option right now. As the men moved about and got their camp set up the marine did his best to help as well, the sooner they got things going the better and hopefully a large enough fire would be enough to keep wild beasts away. . Just to be certain though the fishman would likely use his Haki as well through out the night in order to seek out any nearby creatures or murderous intent. It would be a tiring task but it would keep them alive.

"Daniel, how are you doing?"

His whole body was starting to come to as he was falling still. The vines were wanting to capture him still but the Fishman and his water bullets were keeping the plants from doing so. With the last of it stopped, the Fishman was able to capture him within his grasp and place him down on… a dinosaur? Well, at least it was better than having the vines holding him hostage. He was slid next to one of the other Marines, as they held onto him for the time being as he was very likely to fall off their ride. At this point he wanted to stay awake, as he was just getting the hang of controlling his own body again but something else was telling him otherwise. Closing his eyes, he felt himself drifting out of his mind for a little bit of time. What felt like seconds for him was actually much longer.

He awoke when the group was setting up camp in the forest. He himself was leaning against one of the trees, seemingly within eyesight of just about everyone in the camp at the moment. Just as he was about to get up and move, something in his head started hurting pretty badly. Ugh, is this another side effect of that plant? He thought, not really sure what to make of the situation at all. Overall his body felt better than it had before, which was extremely evident when he brought his arm up to his face to make sure that he could still do that overall. Just as he was going to make sure everything was working more the Fishman had made it over to him while the others worked. It seemed that he had just issued some orders to the rest.

”I’m doing better than I was earlier. Ugh, I never want to go through that one again.” He said, sitting up before his hand want to his head to try and relieve the headache somehow. ”Well, that… thing, the plant? That thing is dangerous. It might be why everything in this forest is so fucked up at the current moment. I was fighting it off using… well, you know, and just as I was grappling with it and another dinosaur it sprayed both of us with this… white dust stuff. I don’t know what it was, but it didn’t hurt physically. It just…” He said, pausing for a moment at a loss of words.

”It made me want to stop doing anything on my own. Like, there is your normal conscience voice right? Well, apparently this thing made another one pop in my head. I don’t know how but… it got into my mouth and into my system and made me want to stand still while you all were charging at me. It was weird. I’m just now getting the feel of being back in my own body but it was just… so surreal. I can’t explain it, and I know you probably don’t believe me but… That’s what happened.” He said, spilling all he knew. Why was he doing it? He was scared. Scared that he didn’t have control over his own actions for once.

It was good to hear that the boy was still in good shape after everything that he had been through. The current situation wasn't quite what he would have hoped for all things considered, but it could have been worse. There had been no casualties nor had there been any major injuries to the group and as Daniel explained what happened to him out in the jungle the fishman simply nodded while taking in all of the information, focusing on letting him finish and compiling what he said along with what they knew already. "Well I can tell that you still haven't fully recovered so take it easy. Fortunately, it seemed that the parasitic spores couldn't really develop well enough in your body due to your 'skill' so be thankful for that. While you were asleep Kyuu and I went ahead and did a check up on you. Whatever had gotten in is long gone now." They had been expecting to find an organism much the same as the one that they recovered from Daisy after she fell, but the most likely conclusion as to why there were no traces of the parasite was that the toxins in Daniel's body had managed to kill it off.

It was difficult to really tell as while Amezoku thought himself to be a pretty good doctor Daniel was quite one of a kind in having a toxic immune system. "From what we can tell so far though, it seems that the ecosystem here is under attack by some new form of plant life that has begun to grow in the area. We don't know why or how, but its definitely not what we expected upon landing." Pulling out a rolled sheet of paper form his coat now, the sharkman spread it out on the floor in front of Daniel and pointed to several area on the map that had been marked as bare, simply open fields of grass or rocky areas. "The vegetation has grown out to be pretty thick and is spreading rather rapidly. These areas I just indicated are we came from, however while passing through it was ripe with greenery." His voice sounded more dire than usual as he rubbed his chin trying to plan their next course of action.

"We aren't completely lost here however. On the way t this location we noticed several large roots heading to the east of the island." He now traced his finger from the path that they had taken in which Kyuu had pointed out one of the roots and followed it to the east which led towards the center portion of the island and one of the larger jungles as indicated by the old map. The layout could very well have been different by now, but this was the best they had to go off of for the time being. What the fishman wouldn't give for the ability to fly right now in order to get some good reconnaissance going, but that was neither here no there. "The way I see it we have two options. We rest for the night and try to gather some answers in the morning, or we can try to use the night time to our advantage. Both the plant life and the dinosaurs here seem to be much more restful at night which would make things easier on our group albeit the cover of night could always be used against us." Fortunately, no one from the crew was in bad shape and if they wanted to go with the second plan there would be any major hitches, but he still wasn't sure how he felt about the plan.

Regardless, they couldn't really report back to HQ empty handed. They had a bit of information but nothing major and the sharkman was not one to leave a job half done once started.

It didn't take too much longer for Daniel to lose consciousness once more as he drifted off into what seemed like a peaceful sleep. Whatever had happened to him during that run in with the plants on the island had taken its toll and while the doctor's check ups yielded no results other than saying that he was simply fatigued to an incredible degree the fishman still couldn't help but worry. That had always been his problem, looking out for his own men to such an incredible extent that he disregarded his own needs. Soon enough however the rest of the crew had gone to sleep and it was about time that he got some rest as well and just have some soldiers remain on watch duty but decided against it.

As such the marine captain remained awake through out the night, sitting on the branch of a nearby tree and keeping his eyes peeled along with his sixth sense constantly keeping a steady surveillance of the area for any unusual movements or creatures moving in on them. So far all seemed well though and he didn't really have to act. Staying up all night would bother the sharkman much anyway, he could go days without sleep before slowing down so that wasn't an issue. At most keeping up this constant surveillance of haki was a bit of a drain but he would survive.

Eventually Amezoku did notice something begin to move though. Something from in their camp and it was headed right towards him. Fortunately, this aura was one that he knew all too well. "Kyuu, you should really getting back to bed. I have things covered up here." The wheelchair bound scientist rolled up to her father and looked from down below. She didn't say much of anything though and instead reclined in her seat while pulling out a book to read. Had she been worried about him working so hard, or perhaps she had gotten lonely when she realized papa wasn't nearby? A childish grin spread on the face of the fishman at the thought of her needing him despite her usually tough exterior. Although there weren't many more words exchanged between the two of them outside of that the shark man found a bit of piece with himself as he smiled and relaxed a bit. This was likely the best bonding time they had gotten in a while.

Almost as if to spite this peaceful moment however the silence of the night was soon broken by a scream coming from their camp. A scream that broke both father and daughter from their curren thoughts.

That shout was really all it took for the fishman to get on the move as his body instinctively kicked into action and launched himself from the branch of the tree, his feet hitting the ground with a thud as he kicked off to the camp to see what was going on while Kyuu was not too far behind him in all of this. How could something have happened? Nothing had come in or out of their camp this entire time so there was no way they had been snuck up on, right? "Kyuu I'm gonna need you to stay back if thing get dangerous. That's an order from your commanding officer!" He yelled back at the woman, not even giving her chance to give a usual snappy retort. If something had happened to her along with the rest of the men then there was no way he'd be able to continue this mission with the right state of mind. Besides, being in a wheelchair like that just made her way too much of a liability. Judging by the silence on her end though it seemed that she had decided to respect his decision.

Coming on to the scene now he could see a single one of their soldiers being alienated from the rest of the group as they stood in a circle looking at him with fear and worry. The man in question was covered in what appeared to be mushroom sprouting from his flesh and with each one he pulled off it seemed as if two more just took its place in the matter of a few seconds.

How the hell could this have happened? eyes darting to and fro around the camp site in search of something the Lieutenant Commander experienced a 'eureka' sort of moment upon spotting a strange patch of mushrooms not too far away from them that looked similar to the ones growing on this man's body. Hm, so that was it. The reason he didn't sense it was because the plant had been here the entire time. That was awful careless of the fishman but he did plan on rectifying the situation rather quickly. "Everyone, stand back and don't come into contact with petty officer Royce." He commanded to the rest of the crew as he moved in closer to the suffering individual. He wasn't sure how easily this stuff could spread but having to deal with one infected person was much better than having to deal with an entire troop of them. "Stay calm and trust in your commanding officer, alright. I promise to get every single one of you out of her alive. Don't forget those words!" He shouted at the shaking soldier who seemed to instantly straighten up. Good, that was what Ame liked to see.

Now dealing with this was of course a bit more of a chore but there were still methods of exterminating unwanted fungus. The issue was the fact that simply pulling them out often left a small stump in the pore of the skin that would simply use the body's nutrients as a means of quickly regenerating. In short, one would have to do a total cleansing of the infected area for the best effect. At least that was what the fishman had made out of what he had seen from before when the soldier was frantically yanking the things off. A single hand dry and the other dowsed in water, he went to work with the speed and precision of a surgeon who had perfected his craft, the dry hand moving in and yanking out the mushroom while the other was used to forcibly wash out the remains of the fungus from that area of the flesh. The whole thing was done in one swift motion that looked as if he had simply waved his hand over the man's arm and as if by magic the mushrooms had been vanished. Instead however he handed them off to Kyuu who quickly preserved them as research material for later.

The entire process was a bit tedious and ended up taking about thirty minutes in order to entirely cleanse the man's body, but at the end it seemed that he was clean once more. The sharkman had run a few check ups on his health but once all of the shrooms had been ripped off and cleaned out it seemed that he had actually been saved. Still, after that little situation it seemed that the rest of the men was far too much on edge to sleep. It would a be a restless night for all. Well, almost all anyway. Daniel still remained sleeping and unaware of what was going on. While Ame did keep tabs on him, he did not worry for the boy as much as he worried for everyone else, after all, that poison in his body seemed like a perfect natural defense to anything that tried to get in unwanted.

Soon enough the sun would rise and mark the dawn of a new day for their little squad though, its rays shining through the canopy of trees and allowing them a fair amount of vision. Of course, if they were arising then so too would the more reptilian inhabitants of the island and their green enemies. The day time was just as safe as it was dangerous in comparison to a night traveling expedition. Looking across the men though, the sharkman couldn't help but sight a little bit. They were all pretty damn exhausted both mentally and physically with dark bags hanging from their eyes and many yawning excessively. Not really in a great condition to continue a trek in any form or fashion. That wasn't even the worst part though. Daniel was still asleep and upon checking on him it was clear his condition was getting worse rather than better as he had broken into a cold sweat some time over night and had a fever going. Amezoku cursed himself under his breath, there was no way he could deal with pirate boy without medicines he left at the ship. The field stuff he brought along was more suited for dealing with combat wounds and infections rather than this type of thing.

It was a tough call as he had originally been adamant on getting this job done, but unforeseen circumstances had gotten in the way. For the time being, the secret of this island would remain unexposed, but he figured they hadn't left completely empty handed. They managed to figure out what was going on here, had marked the map with areas that were no longer designated safe zones as well as areas that were likely safe zones now, and Kyuu gathered many samples that their crew could turn in. Not a complete bust of a job and once they regrouped they could head back in even stronger than before. Well, assuming the upper brass wanted them to resume this mission, otherwise they would end up passing along the torch to a different division. "Fall in men! We're heading back to the ship." He shouted aloud cuing them all to fall into attention, however a rather eased one as it seemed that no one was too fond of staying here much longer than needed.

"Did the mutt turn into a big blue scaredy cat when I wasn't looking?" The wheelchair bound woman poked fun at her father as she got a few of the marines to help her move on to the back of Daisy.

Fortunately, it seemed that she was still on their side and would help guide them back to the ship. The help of a local right about now was pretty damn useful, especially when said local could serve as transportation for the entirety of their crew. With this they be able to make it back to their ship in a much shorter time than it had taken for them to get this far inland to begin with. Heading over to Daniel's tent the marine hoisted him up over his shoulder and handed him off to another soldier on top of Daisy that could hold him down for their ride back. After doing that the Lieutenant Commander also took care to fold down the tent and move it into the carrying bag where it belonged. Normally it would have been Daniel's job to take down his own tent, but extenuating circumstances and all had managed to prevent that so he would get a pass this time around. Taking on last look over the area just to be certain, the fishman didn't make out anything unusual and instead simply moved on to the back of Daisy with everyone else and moved out. They had a long day ahead of them.

The trip back was much more peaceful than their entry to the island. With Daisy guiding them now it only made sense. The triceratops lived here after all so Ame trusted her judgement much more than he trusted a map that was already proven to be outdated. He just had to direct the triceratops to head back towards the shore line that they had entered from and the Triceratops naturally avoided the new danger zones, whether they be dangerous due to plant life or carnivorous dinos that were roaming about in order to search for food. There were a few hiccups along the way such as small raptors similar to the one from before arriving and trying to attack them or random plant life creeping in, bu the shark man effectively kept them all out of the 'zone' he had under surveillance via haki. Flinging water bullets and using fierce punches or kicks, he effectively kept them at bay as they continued to progress onward. He only hoped they wouldn't have to continue to press back the advancements of enemies as his dials were beginning to run a bit dry with all of the fighting he had done the previous day as well.

Soon enough the group had only a short distance more to cross, what was likely another couple of hours or so before they were in the clear. Unfortunately things would prove themselves to not be that simple which seemed to be the case on all of his missions. Why couldn't things ever just go off without a itch these days? The intrusion this time around was a bit bigger than anything else they had experience so far as their enemy this time around would be the king of the Cretaceous period and nothing could beat it out as a staple cliche creature for this type of setting. The mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex. Damn, it seemed that these plants had quite the influence and were still ever changing the movement patterns of the inhabitants of Little Garden as even Daisy was rather shocked to see something quite like this blocking their path as the triceratops began to step back and the Rex moved in even closer.

The blood thirst and the hunger, Ame could feel it radiating off of the dinosaur in waves and while he could tell that it was simply a creature that was hungered and needed something to eat it was also unacceptable for him to allow the crew to be devoured like a buffet. For a moment they were at a standstill, but for most it felt like an eternity had passed before someone made the first move, that someone being the massive predator as it's head snapped forward suddenly and attempted to chomp down on Daisy and her riders. "Stand down!" The marine shouted as his right arm hardened into a shiny jet black and slammed into the jaw of the dinosaur with a fierce uppercut, snapping it mouth shut and causing the beast to stumble backward from the unexpected force. Of course, on this island the T-Rex was not used to such small creatures putting up so much fight so it was understandably confused but not deterred as it let out a battle roar and went into action.

"Just move back and don't go anywhere until I take care of this situation. It won't take long." He commanded to the men and Daisy, who had honestly already moved pretty far back to avoid being caught in this brawl. Smart choice. The T-Rex had already shifted priorities and was quickly focused on Amezoku who it felt to be a major threat to its current dominance. As the creature moved in again in order to bite the marine in half the fishman karate specialist had already begun to move and ran past the jaws of death and instead went for its legs. The creature was just hungry and this was a jungle after all so he had no intentions on killing it for having the desire to survive. It wasn't a criminal that just killed in order to kill or to sate some sick pleasure. He would just incapacitate it long enough for them to get out of here. Running at its legs, the fishman cocked back his fist and aimed to strike and throw the beast off balance, but it seemed the creature was perceptive, lifting up it leg and swinging forward in a mighty kick.

The foot of the T-rex came his way, but the marine saw it coming, the creature was so clumsy and predictable in its movements that the man didn't even need to use his haki in order to predict its attacks. So many flaws in its patterns, so much wasted movement, and overall just a poor match up for one who had trained in martial arts for as long as Amezoku had. With the foot coming his way the marine gracefully weaved to the right and allowed it to simply swing by him, the gust of air that was kicked up blowing against his body as he rushed forward and moved to the tail of the beast as it dragged across the ground. That had been his true target all along, and while to the rest of the men it must have looked like their fearless leader had simply deserted them and run past the T-Rex to save himself, there was a plan here all along.

Grabbing onto the thick tail of the dinosaur the fishman mustered up all of his might before hoisting the thing over his shoulder and slinging forward and down all at once, this maneuver had been more than enough to lift the Rex off the ground and bring him high into the air for a split moment before his body was mashed into the ground like a sack of bricks, the weight of the throw causing tremors to go through the earth and soon return to a steady silence. For the natural predator of this island this type of thing was unprecedented nd it was definitely confused by what had happened. The assault was not done however. There was still something left that had to be done. With the dino downed Amezoku leaped up and climbed on to its body, making haste and running straight for the beast's head before it could get back into a standing position and recover its senses. "My apologies." His fist hardened with haki once more as he lifted it above the head of the dinosaur and slammed down with a fierce punch. "五千枚瓦正拳 Gosenmaigawara Seiken!" The might of the punch being enough to drive the predators head into the dirt and cause it lose consciousness. Ame had wanted to knock it out quick and easy so he opted to use the Five Thousand Tile Fist rather than the much more deadly One Hundred Thousand.

With that done however it seemed that they were once again free to pass through the jungle. His eyes traced back to where everyone else was as they slowly emerged from their hiding spot. It seemed that everyone was still in one piece which was a good sight. As long as they kept this up then they would be home free in no time at all. Reclaiming his seat on the back of Daisy the crew got moving once more, tip toeing past the now sleeping T-Rex as it lay defeated in a small crater in the ground. From where they were they could already see the shoreline in the distance and knew freedom was not too far behind it.

As they neared the shoreline and came back to the ship Ame would help the men one by one get down from Daisy's back as well as handing over Daniel to a few a men in order to get him moved to the sick bay. They had a few doctors on board that could take care of him for the time being as well as the fact that Ame himself would be sure to help him when he got the chance. After Daniel he then personally helped Kyuu get down as well and moved her body back into her wheelchair to help get things moving. Once that was done then there was really only one farewell to make on this island, their temporary ally who had started off as a foe only yesterday. He looked to Daisy with a warm smile as the triceratops appeared to be genuinely saddened by the sudden departure but they all knew it was coming.

"It's alright girl, we'll be back soon enough to make things go back to how they should be. Just remember the marines." And with that said the fishman gave the triceratops one last pat on the head before he joined the rest of the crew back on board their ship where things appeared to be much more lively than usual. Apparently the rest of the crew had been pretty ecstatic fr their return as they had been worrying ever since the new day started and they had yet to return. Understandable, but geez, they could have had a bit more faith in him and his leadership. He flashed a toothy grin as they looked at him with admiration. It seemed that other men who had come along with him during the expedition had already begun to talk of his feats in protecting the crew from any harm and how quickly he dealt with predators as well as officer Royce when he had been covered in fungus from head to toe. It seemed he had managed to live up to his promise of getting everyone back in one piece.

"Thank you, but right now is not the time. There is still work to be done men." He declared as he moved past the group and began to head towards the door that led to the inner bowels of the ship. "officers Kyuu and Goode, please see me in the meeting quarters in the next twenty minutes. We have a lot to discuss regarding what transpired over the last forty hours. For time the being I'll be in the medical bay. Everyone else please continue about your work. Members of the expedition you may rest for the time being. That is all." And with that said the Lieutenant Commander vanished into the inner cabins of the ship, moving quickly over to Daniel who still hadn't woken up. With the equipment they had on the ship though he was much better able to make out what was going on with his body an it seemed that even now it was still fighting off infection from those spores from before. The treatment earlier had been helpful, but wasn't perfect.

For the time being though his life wasn't at risk and with that Ame left the room and headed to the meeting quarters. He had a rather lengthy and strange report to write up at the moment and wanted to send this off to HQ as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience. Your storyline has been reviewed.

First and foremost, I'm not going to deal with retrospective commendations quite just yet. I feel as if - in the wake of Ryan's boost - there's a fair bit more to talk about before something like that gets done again.

Second, I'm quite partial to dino-paunching.

4 Commendations to Amezoku for his work regarding the eco-crisis.
Okay, fine, I actually have characters.
