The seas was calm for a change, there was a nice breeze in the air which blowed nicely into the sails guiding the boat threw the seas, all that could be heard was the calming sound of the ocean around them and maybe the odd bird that flew past in the sky, it was brilliant weather to sail on that's for sure, as the boat sailed the seas, ahead, if you was on top deck, you would notice an island that seemed to have huge cactus mountains on them, the island looked rather odd to those that never seen it before, the time was close to take another step into the grand line! Meanwhile on deck, Cynthia was standing on one of the poles of the mask, holding on to the meddle pole so that she wouldn't fall down, her hair blowed in the wind like a fluttering piece of black silk, she also seemed to have a change of clothing's on, a sleeveless black kimono with a an orange zip going down the middle of it, also under the kimono where it parts you'll see her wearing a pair of white Hakama which both of her swords hang from her side, over her right shoulder you would see a metal shoulder pat with a fancy peach pattern on it. Looking out, she noticed an island up ahead, Guess it wouldn't hurt visiting the island, could do with more supplies, farther only gave enough for one trip, sighing a bit she slid down the middle pole that held the mask and landed onto the ground "Isao! Land is close by, It would be wise to land there and get some more supplies" Cynthia yelled as she made her way to the helm of the boat, not really knowing where he could be, but yelled just in case he was in the lower decks, as she got to the helm she turned it so that the boat would start to make corse to the island. |

Isao stirred from his bunk, closing the black and white cover of his tome, and carefully re-wrapping the book in it's oilskin bag and then stowing it in the bottom of his storage chest. Cynthia appeared to be insistent that they should land on the nearby island, and to be honest, Isao was getting a wee bit sick of being stuck on the boat with no chance to stretch his legs or do any endurance work. Strength and flexibility training were all well and good, and basic weapon practice on an open deck was great, but nothing got the blood pumping quite like a run. Opening his cabin door, Isao took the stairs up to the deck two at a time, loping out across the deck to climb the mast and tighten the sails, as well as get a look at the fast approaching island. From this far out it appeared to be a massive cactus, the stone of the hills even being greenish in color and somehow there were needles, or things that looked like needles studding the hills as far as the eye could see. Grabbing a flapping line, Isao rode it down to the deck and tied it off, securing that corner of the sail and harnessing the wind more fully, giving the ship a bit more drive from each gust of wind that puffed their way. As he walked around, checking the lines and pins, Isao wondered just what this island was like, and maybe that he could find something here to help him get stronger. The Dao book had stressed that power was paramount, and from some of the stories told therein, masters of the art had been well beyond what most would consider human, with some even being fantastic beasts. These things Isao attributed to Devil Fruits, as it was the only thing that made sense for some of the illustrations in the book, but some of the techniques described, or mentioned therein looked or sounded alot like what Cynthia and her dad Syth had been able to do. Staring further into the sky as the waves slowly rolled them closer, Isao wondered at how wide the world had become to his eyes, full of fantastic and frightening people, all blessed or cursed with powers and abilities that seemed to be from the realms of fantasy and myth. And yet, to become as he would need to be, to protect the Dao style from the wrong people, and to maybe one day return home vindicated, Isao would have to acquire that fantastic power, bend it to his will, and show everyone just how wrong the Marines and their lying ways were. |

The clicking of small wooden heels against the rock tiled road emitted throughout the silent and serene path. A man in a full black robe traveled the lone path with his hands tucked away in his pockets. He wore beads around his neck and left wrist. Most notable was the "t" shaped metal and feather he wore in a necklace. He was holding some sort of black book in his left hand, pressed up against his side as he paced. Looking up from his hood, he noted the abnormally large Cacti that he was so accustom to seeing. His eyes narrowed to the numerous small tombstones upon each individual plant mountain. He let out a soft sigh as he stopped mid way along the road. Turning to his left and then his right, his right hand slipped out of his robe's pocket carrying a flask. Flicking it open with his thumb, he tilted his head back; bringing the metallic container to his lips. "You should not be drinking that. You know it isn't allowed" A voice spoke from behind. Trevelyan nearly dropped his drink, but got a hold of himself as he turned around. "Its non-alcoholic" He said looking over over his right shoulder. The man standing behind him was bald, dressed in the same robe as Trev. He adjusted his bifocals with his right hand and flashed a rare smile. "You know the rules" He said promptly.Trevelyan let out a soft sigh as he capped the flask and then turned towards the man. With a flick of his wrist, he tossed the container towards the Monk; who caught it with both his hands. Shoving it away under his robe, he continued to speak. "You're not at the mourning today" Trevelyan stayed quiet, slipping his hands back into his pockets. "Where you thinking of them again?" Trev gulped, his throat tightening up a bit. A soft wind blew just then, slightly nudging the items on his necklace. "All people die, life is suffering, death is liberation. We mourn those who pass to never forget that death comes to us all." Trevelyan nodded towards the man, still not saying anything. The monk's expression shifted to curiosity as he looked past the man. Trevelyan turned to look at what he was looking at. He rose an eyebrow as he saw the pirate ship heading towards the coast; he turned back to the Monk. "Guests?" "It seems as such. Here, why not greet them" Reaching into his robe, the monk pulled out the silver flask again and tossed it to Trev. Catching it in his right hand, he looked down at the drink and back towards the Monk. "Are you sure?" He asked, to which the Monk nodded. "We treat everyone equal. Their lives don't matter, death is the ultimate route" Giving a single nod, he turned fully towards the dock and proceeded in its direction. He sighed as he stood looking up at the imposing ship. Blinking a few times, he stood at the coast with the flask and holy scriptures in hand. Eying the ship, he spoke to himself, unsure of what to say. Edited by ShadowBlade, Jul 24 2014, 02:38 PM.

The boat soon reached to the harbours of the island, the creaking sound of the wooden boat echoed threw out the boat which left an creepy feeling in the air, the cactus like mountains looked larger up close then they did from a distance, and the more noticeable thing now was the gravestones that covered the mountains, also, there where green rivers that seemed to leak out from on top of the mountains, which gave Cynthia a early feeling, looking around the harbour, it seemed disserted, it was clear that the island didn't get many visitors, wonder why? Still on the boat Cynthia looked out to the dock and saw a shadowy figure that seemed to be looking at them, staring back with a stern glaring she turned with the flick of her hair and walked towards Isao "The harbour looks empty and there seems to be one person looking up at our boat, lets tread with ease" by the sound of her voice, it was easy to tell that she wasn't comfortable with the situation that suddenly turned up. The boat finally reached to the port as the anchor fell into the water so that the ship wouldn't float away, Assuming that Isao was following, Cynthia made the first move as she jumped off the boat and onto the wooden floorboards of the dock, brushing her hair behind her ear as the wind blew past her she gently rested her hand on the handle of her weapons, she looked across to the shadowy figure that was across the path with her orange like eyes that shined slightly in the gleam of the sun that seemed to be shining in the sky, her guard was up, after all, she had a bounty on her head, it may of been small, but it was enough for a rookie to think they could make an easy picking of her. |

As the boat clunked up to the dock and Cynthia jumped off, giving a warning about how they should be careful, Isao busied himself with attaching the mooring lines to the dock-posts, further securing the ship and giving him time to observe the area. Now that they were in the harbor, Isao could see that the buildings were all blockish and square, hardened clay and wood constructions, and eerily enough, the entire town seemed to be silent, with not a soul stirring except for the one man in what appeared to be monk's robes who was down at the docks. Adding to the creepy factor of the town was the fact that being this close, he could see that the "spikes" on the cactus rocks were in fact tombstones, hundreds upon hundreds of them. It was mind boggling to think that there could have been such death here that there were so many graves, and yet there might still be people. The town looked a little dusty and windswept, but it was by no means run down, nor did it have the appearance of being a complete ghost town. Securing the last line, Isao reached behind his back, making sure that his gauntlets were strapped in place, ready to be donned should the need arise. Paranoia wasn't all that nice of an attribute to have, but for someone exiled and potentially hunted by the hounds of a lying government and their stooges it was prudent to watch ones own back. Striding across the dock, Isao followed Cynthia in towards the town and the monk who apparently had come out to greet them. "Hello sir, as you can see we're new to your town here, might you be able to tell us where we might procure supplies? and also, where is everybody? this place is creepy." |

Trevelyan's eyes lit up, his mouth hung a gape. as he saw the shadowy figure descend. With the light hitting her from behind, her shadow morphed appeared to morph into the figure of a bird. As she descended the walking board however, Trevelyan's face became indifferent once more; she wasn't the woman he imaged. His eyes met hers and he looked into the strange sun set gaze that looked down upon him. As Trev saw the woman's hand lightly graze her sword he slowly lifted both of his hands into the air. "There isn't any reason for you to do that..." He spoke as he saw a man walk up next to her. His vision fell upon the tall man with slicked black hair. As he spoke up, Trev relaxed a bit more, lowering his hands. His eyes shifted towards both of them for a moment. "Right, well you two are currently docked on Cactus Island. My name is Trevelyan and I'm a monk here. As far as supplies are concerned, this 'town' as you call it, is more of a mass graveyard." He pointed back towards the Cactus mountains which were riled with tombstones. He cleared his throat as after giving them a moment to notice them; speaking once again in his deep and semi-indifferent tone. "The closest thing to a town here would be Velvet Tip. They're currently rebuilding after recently being part of a large scale war. As such, I'm unsure of how much supplies they would have. I'm relatively positive they'd like more trade to pay for the damage of war however." He paused for a moment, his eyes shifting between the two. He lifted his right arm, flask in hand, and lightly shook it; indicating that he was going to toss it. With a flick of his wrist, he tossed the flask over to Isao. If Isao would open it, he would smell a very sweet fragrant beverage. He then turned to Cynthia. "So, to answer your second question, you arrived on the outskirts of what we call Weeping Summit. Here, Monks like myself gather to mourn the dead. If we see a ship incoming, such as yours, we will make sure to see who is on it. This area has been ravaged by destruction as of recent you see. Many merciless pirates such as Leander Hastings, Violet Kane, and Zain S. Sayad have destroyed this island. Most recently..." Trevelyan pointed with his free right hand to the far east. If they focused, they could see a strange rain storm over an area. "...was that." "That happened when Hastings and Sayad collided months ago, it made that area uninhabitable. We've also been ravaged by famine, plague, assassinations, and a recent revolutionary war. The people here have become uneasy, as such, they're attempting to weed out the 'bad apples' or so to speak." He spoke casually, eying the flask that he tossed earlier for a brief moment before turning his attention back to both of them. "I hope you'll take that as our peace offering. Please do not mistake it as a sign of weakness, rather a desire to not inquire more causalities. If it isn't too much trouble, I would like to ask who you people are? And what brings you to Cactus Island? I imagine you need supplies but even then we have to be careful you see" Trev placed his hands in his pockets, tilting his head to the side and gave the same distant look as before. It felt as though he always had something on his mind but he kept speaking as per usual. Edited by ShadowBlade, Jul 26 2014, 05:21 PM.

Cynthia relaxed her hand as soon as she found out that Trevelyan, as he called himself, meant no harm, he started to introduce himself and explain what the island was, he said that it was like one giant graveyard due to the war that happened here some time ago, Cynthia looked around slightly, looking at the countless gravestones on the cactus like mountains, the very thought that there was so many dead here, it must of been hell to bury that many, but he also mentioned that due to the war, the only place that would possibly have supplies was being rebuilt, so the possibility of getting more supplies for the boat was slim. he went on to talk about he how he and the rest where monks and that they mourn over the dead and that they feel that they have to check ships they use the port in case they where pirates that wanted to make trouble for them like Leander, Voilet and Zain...wait...Zain? the mere mention of the name made Cynthia frown slightly "Zain came here?" she asked in a curious manner, what happened to him? was he involved in the war that happened here? many questions past her mind, her eyes soon followed the direction that Trevelyan pointed to, what she then saw what seemed to be a storm , but over one area? what a wired phenomenon, but to think that Zain and this man, Leander, made such a thing made her wonder what the hell went on. Cynthia watched as Trevelyan tossed over a flask towards Isao, after hearing him say that it was a piece offering and that he wanted to know who we where and what our intentions where, letting out a soft sigh she tucked a sting of her behind her ear, letting the snow white feather flutter in the breeze, "My name is Cynthia Valentine, and I assure you, we don't come with ill intentions, we simply saw an island and needed supplies for our ship, but by the sounds of it, it seems we have ran into bad luck with you not having enough supplies you're self" Cynthia replied in a soft but cold tone to her voice, guess that the mention of Zain sparked some memory's. Another robed figure appeared behind Trevelyan she had curly white hair that went down to her shoulder, her skin also seemed to be pale as well, what stood out the most was the stunning red lipstick she ware on her lips, "Trevelyan, are you drinking again? I swear if I find another bloody flask on you I'm going to kick you're ass, you know how the high priest feels about drinking" turning to look at Isao and Cynthia, she give them a small bow of the head with a smile to go with it "offering drinks isn't usually our tradition, so please don't think all of us are like him" the tone of her voice sounded snobby, she stood right next to Trevelyan as she continue to talk in her "miss perfect" manner of speaking " treat everyone equal here on this island, so you're lives don't matter because death is the ultimate route to all things, so please, mourn with us and prey for piece for those that past to the afterlife" smiling whiles talking she puts her hands together as if she was praying. Isao listened to the man, Trevelyan, about how he was a monk and the reason for the mass gravestones. It made a certain amount of sense, a war would justify that many tombstones, but their placement still seemed odd. Then there was a flask spinning through the air towards him, which Isao reached out and caught. It seemed like the courteous thing to do, instead of let it hit the dirt. Seeing that Trevelyan was motioning or rather intending that Isao drink from the flask, and that he had with seemingly no ill effects, judging by the empty space therein, Isao unscrewed the cap and gave it a cursory sniff. A complex fruity aroma assailed his nose, some sort of local fruit juice beverage no doubt, though from the looks of the landscape, Isao couldn't imagine where they found fruit to turn into drinks, except through trade with merchants. Then Isao beheld the strange storm and wondered at it's creation, until he heard the name, a name which evoked annoyance, hope, rage, and curiosity, "Zain" With a small twitch of one eyebrow, Isao turned his head slightly and looked at Cynthia, before asking "You said Zain, as in Zain S. Sayad, Captain of the White Hair pirates, white hair, missing an arm, kimono and all that, that Zain? I swear everywhere we go all we do is hear about that idiot and what he's done or who he's tangled with, and from what you're saying it sounds like he got himself into some sort of completely epic struggle, changed the very laws of nature, and then left after leaving you with a gigantic mess. " Pausing in his little monologue, Isao turned to face Trevelyan. "Sorry for the late introduction, My name is Isao Hinogami, associate of miss Valentine here, and we're on a bit of a worldwide adventure as it were, which is partly related to Zain, mostly in that we need to find him, and then have a good long talk with him. Said talk might involve physical brutality....a lot of physical brutality, but from what I've been hearing he would deserve every second of it. Also thanks for the drink, it's delicious. " Then another monk, this one female appeared from the town behind them, berating Trevelyan and insinuating that all were welcome and equal, but in a quite unlikable superior tone of voice. All of that plus the way she said that their lives didn't matter raised Isao's hackles a bit. What did this one monk know of his life or if it mattered or not, he had a job to do, and a responsibility to uphold, that mattered, and by extension, so did his life. "I don't think you're all like him lady, in fact he's been downright personable, wheras you have been nothing but standoffish and haughty for the roughly minute i've 'known' you." |

"Hmm?" Trevelyan raised an eyebrow, turning from the dark haired woman towards the taller man. "I haven't actually seen him. I was away when all of this happened so I wouldn't really know. By the looks of it, it looks like he did indeed get into some real trouble..." Trev said as he turned over to the terraformed site once more. "Isao and Cynthia, huh? Well its nice to meet you two. I'm a...well I don't think you'll be able to talk with him." Trev cleared his throat. "Well, you see, I'm not sure exactly what your relationship with this White Hair is but I'm either sorry to say or happy to tell you he's no longer with us; depending on your relationship of course. I'm guessing you guys don't really read the news paper but he died a while ago in this battle with Leander Hastings. No problem on the drink as well, you might wanna take some of it now in case this news is hard to bare? Or if you're celebrating...either case the alcohol should sooth or reinforce your feelings." He turned to Cynthia. "Well, yeah that's how it is. You guys came at a pretty bad time. Supplies may be scarce..." Trevelyan coughed to attempt to break the silence that followed. He searched his robe carefully with his free hand to see if he could find another bottle he had tucked away; this situation needed some relaxation. A moment later, he felt an odd chill run up his spine. As he slowly turned to face it, he found none other than Alabel. He let out a sigh. "Alabella...its so nice of you to drop by again. I ugh, I don't have anything on me...Ahem." He said as he quickly removed his hand from a square indentation he found. "*sigh* Didn't we also say I'd give up my drinking once you gave up cursing? In any case, he was the one who told me to give it to them anyway. But err I'm being rude. Alabella, meet Isao Hinogami and Cynthia Valentine. They're, travelers I believe-" He was cut off then by Alabella, causing him to let out a soft sigh; holding his forehead lightly with his hand. He lowered it a moment later, sensing the tension building. "Well, I suppose life does indeed have its hardships. Death does come to everyone but perhaps those who are alive truly suffer..." He let the words trail for a second before spacing out. In the weird silence, his eyes opened and closed for a moment before...he fell asleep; still standing up. |

When hearing about Zains death, a very surprising feeling went over her, releasing a soft sigh, thinking back at the cheeky grin he gave them before doing something stupid, and the fight he promised they would have, but that's not going to happen, to be honest, there wasn't much sadness, but it wasn't like she didn't care either, it was him who got her with Isao, Drake and Sere in the first place, even though one by one have left them, it has always been Isao and herself that stuck together, so what dose this mean? would we be still labelled as pirates? well that's for sure, due to the bounty's. "To be honest, judging by the news, he had it coming to him, not saying I'm not sad about the news, it's just, he was always the wild type" Closing her eyes she lets out another sigh before opening her eyes again, looking at Trevelyan as he mentions about the supplies again, before saying something else she was suddenly stopped by an annoying voice that seemed to come from a curly white haired girl that seemed very snobby, in her opinion anyways. "Hmpf" Alabella pouted at Trevelyan with a grumpy look on her face, she then looked towards Isao and Cynthia "well, I welcome you, Mis Valintain, Mr Hinogami, Please come follow me, we may not be able to help you with supplies, but maybe shelter for the night?" Turning around while raising her nose up at Trevelyan, she slowly walked away towards the nearest temple where some of the priests stayed at. Meanwhile On top of a domed temple not so far from the group, three cloaked figures was watching the group as they where talking to each other "So? what do you see? big boy" the one on the left said with a flamboyant accent "Da" simply said the one in the meddle, holding a pair of telescopes taped together whiles watching the group, "that isn't exactly an answer you know, Kero" said the one on the right with a very slimy and high pitched voice, the one in the middle slowly looked at the one on the right whiles tilting his head "da" "there is no use, you'll have to go down there you're self" the one on the right sharply turned towards the one on the left "why me Kero!" "because I'm too sexy to go!" "How is that an good excurse! Keor! fine but I'm getting the credit for this kerororororo" suddenly the one on the right vanished suddenly, "come on big boy" "da" the other two soon vanish into the darkness. Soon after as Alabella suggested to leave toward the temple to rest, a small green frog jumped onto a near by rock, getting a better look, the frogs eyes nearly jumped out of there eye sockets when seeing Cynthia, taking out some wanted posters he looks at them "it's her, the one that the boss wants, Kerororo, im going to get promoted for this...oh? whats this? kero?" looking at another poster he sees Isao, a slimy grin cross's his face "kero, what a supprise, somebody will be happy to see him, Kero" the frog then jumps away into the darkness. Isao noted Alabella's tone as she spoke to Trevelyan, and the rather odd fact that the monk appeared to be completely zonked out in the middle of the street, standing up. He also noted that this woman had all but disregarded his opinions of her, which meant she didn't care, or had some ulterior motive. Either way she was offering them shelter, which technically they had on the boat, but there was a possibility of supplies if they had these priests talk to the locals for them, maybe smooth the way as it were. "Well, Allabella was it? I don't necessarily see why we should take you up on your offer, especially since we do have cabins aboard our ship, but I'm slightly interested in your temple there, and maybe you could introduce us to some of the locals besides your order. I know Trevelyan here said they were recovering from a war, but i'd be shocked if they didn't have some bare subsistence goods they would be willing to part with for good hard coin." As he started out to follow Allabella, Isao nudged Trevelyan, hoping to wake the man up and get him to at least come with them. This woman seemed downright frigid in attitude, whereas Trevelyan had been much more personable and inviting, plus Isao didn't feel like giving the flask back to anyone but it's owner. As they continued onwards, Isao marveled at the way this island seemed to be so incongruous. Permanent storms in desert environments, graveyards on mountains, people who fell asleep for no reason, and on their feet to boot, and now apparently frog song in the desert wastes. The grand line was just plain weird! |

Trevelyan felt a nudge on his left arm which caused him to stammer slightly; mumbling as he awoke. He blinked, catching the two warriors walking past him with his peripherals. He let out a soft sigh as they passed him. He reached down, patting the beverage hidden in his robe pocket lightly; he was contemplating taking a swig. Deciding against it a moment later, he turned, sliding his hands into his pockets and slouching over slightly. He began pacing behind the two, seemingly bored or thinking of something else entirely. Soon, the group arrived at a rather large samurai style looking temple. The architecture was in traditional Japanese style, dark brown in its color. Oddly, it wasn't surrounded by anything but land; devoid of many signs of life aside from some mundane plants. Trev quickened his pace slightly to pass the two. He soon passed Alabel, turning around as he did. With another and deeper sigh he rose his hand flat up, directing their attention to the temple. "Welcome to the Man Monk Temple. Here, we practice all sorts of...boring-" He felt the stare from Alabel without even looking. Gulping, he continued. "..Bonding...bonding between brothers and sisters of the temple. Here, we mourn those we've lost and await death ourselves doing so; life is pointless and such" His eyes went to Alabel for a moment. He cleared his throat. "I'll go ahead and show you the main hall. It's close to where I work anyway, it shouldn't be trouble. Alabel will show you the rest anyway, but I imagine both of you would like some rest and food. Come with me" Trev said as he turned around and made his way up the few stairs. He grasped the handle of the large leather bound metallic door; it squeaked as he pulled on it. He waited for the guests and his companion to enter first. After they did, he closed the door. In front of them, they would see a large hall with no one in it. In the back, there was a large open room with a large square table on it. It seemed the large hall had two stairs that were semi-circular leading up to more rooms. "Past there in front of me is the kitchen and dinning hall. I imagine you two are quite hungry, by the looks of things you haven't eaten in quite a while. To your right, you'll find the guest chambers, you can go ahead and leave your things there or feel free to relax there. In any case..." He trailed off as he placed his hands into his pockets and made his way past them once more. He walked to the entrance of the dinning hall. Turning back and raising a hand from his pocket he spoke. "I'll prepare an appetizer for you two. Come into the kitchen when you're done" He then made his way past the dinning hall and out of sight. He slowly made his way into another small opening within the dinning area which held the kitchen. He walked over towards the freezer and pulled it open. Eying the ingredients a sigh came to his face. He reached into the freezer and took out all the ingredients. Placing them neatly on the clean counter. His sleeves were once again rolled up as he washed the turnips under warm water. He had previously brushed it with the vegetable brush. After, he peeled them thoroughly, setting them into a boiling pot he had set. After placing them into the pot, he peeled and sliced up the banana into sixteen pieces. Placing them at various points into the pot, he allowed it to boil in order to counter act the bitter turnip. Soon after, Trev made sure to take the fish and rinse it as well. Setting it on the cutting board, he cut the fish from the bottom horizontally; separating it into two pieces. He began filleting the fish. Once the bones were removed, he cut thinly against the membrane of the skin to separate the two. Now with only the meat left, he seasoned the fish. Soon after, he added the chopped turnips to the meat. He began cooking the mixture with a hint of vegetable oil. Allowing it to fry until it was golden brown on both sides. With the cheeses, Trev mixed 1 oz of both the cream and Parmesan cheese and let the fire melt them down to a creamy texture. Placing the the warm golden brown tuna, he poured the thick, rich and creamy cheese on top. He soon plated his dish and set it down onto the table with a soft sigh. The dish brought back memories he wished he didn't have. He stared off into the dish as he stood in the room awaiting the others to come by. |

Cynthia followed the white haired women towards the temple, the temple had a very Japanese feel to it, the sides of the building had ruined dragons on them, guessing the damage was done by the war they where talking about earlier, turning to Trevelyan, she listen to what he had to say, introducing them to the temple and explaining where things where, he then lead them to a door that lead into a giant hall, entering the room, the room looked grand, surprisingly clean and kept in good condition, considering what the out side of this place looked like, this was a shocking sight, Trevelyan then pointed out the kitchen to them, to be honest, it had been a while since they have eaten, so food was starting to sound like a good idea, which reminded her about the yummy peach noodles back home, oh how Cynthia craved them, sighing in disappointment, she held her stomach gently has it grumbled, loudly then expected, she then blushed slightly out of embarrassment as she quickly looked at Isao with a frowned glare, hopefully the other would suspect the grumbling sound came from him. Trevelyan then mentioned about cooking an appetizer for them, wonder what kind of food he could cook, doubtful it was anything peach related, thinking to her self, she was thinking that she could go with sound chicken with peach source with hot roast potato's, grandmas hot roast peach dinners was always the best, she soon rubbed her forehead and shock her head lightly as she made her way into the kitchen to meet up with Trevelyan. Alabel on the other hand allowed Trevelyan to show them around, not really saying much, has they reached to the hall she looked at the others and spoke up in a very snobby manner, "well it seems you lot have an idea of where to go, I'll leave you in his tru..hmm..hands...call for me if he acts up at all" bowing her head slightly she turned around while flicking her hair at both Cynthia and Isao whiles walking out of the building. Meanwhile From the shadow a frog like shadow appeared that weirdly shaped into a clocked figure, like some twisted creature from the underworld, "ooooh! you made it back then froggy boy! How did it go?" spitting on the floor the cloaked creature looked back at the flamboyant man "I don't answer to you, freak, kero" the frog like creature looked over to man that seemed to be sitting on what seemed to be a boulder that was weirdly shaped like a chair, the man didn't speak, only looked back into the eyes of the frog man, the man didn't need to say anything, the very look of the man made the frag man step back a bit whiles bowing his head slightly, "I-I have found her, she is in the temple near by, accompanied by this man kero" Shifting himself closer to the man, he past the two bounty posters over, the man looked at them moth, showing no emotion, he past over the poster with Isao on it over to a man that was behind him, before walking away, the man in the chair spoke up in a very deep voice, "Make sure you hold you're side of the deal, mon" "Don't worry, I will" the man soon walked away leaving the others behind, soon after another figure walked in "you know, that Isao, he isn't the only person you have to deal with, you have to deal with that drunken excuse of a man, named Trevelyan" the man in the chair looked at the newcomer with an emotionless glare "Yes, I know about him, he has a bounty of 50,000,000, don't worry about him, Alabel mon" walking out of the shadows she shrugged while showing a stuck up grin "well, if you say so boss" The man in the chair suddenly stood up whiles speaking in a booming deep voice "it's time to do our jobs, remember why we are here, spread out and do what you must do, mons" the whole group soon vanished leaving only there cloaks and the mysterious man behind, the man looked at the poster, gripping it slightly whiles looking at it with a lustful gaze "it's time to reunite again, Cynthia Valentine" Edited by Supermaou, Aug 7 2014, 02:02 AM.

The temple impressed Isao, seeming to be of similar architectural style to that of buildings on his home island. Seeing the style again struck a bit of a chord in his heart, prompting wistful reminiscence while Trevelyan explained about the temple. The explanation revealed quite a bit to Isao, though he kept it to himself instead of blatantly asking Trevelyan about it. From his tone and choice of words the man obviously didn't find the temple to be interesting, nor even homey, plus it sounded like he really didn't care about the work that the monks did, despite being one himself, which made Isao thing that he'd come into this walk of life recently, perhaps even from a more interesting venue, such as say piracy. As that thought crossed his mind, Isao watched Trevelyan disappear into the kitchen, wondering if this had been how Zain had felt. Looking at people and thinking that they might have been or would do well in a life at sea, at odds with the law of the land, yet free to do as they wished. It seemed odd to Isao that he should be having the same sort of thoughts, perhaps as a consequence of seeing just how rotten the force that ruled the world was. Cynthia had found slavery to be among the world government's atrocities, and Isao new that they would lie, extort, and in general do most of the things that they accused criminals of doing, all for the sake of their "law" and "justice". Zain must have had thoughts that were much the same, as he'd gone off headlong into the jaws of the marines to save his brother, and eventually ended up dead, apparently at the hands of someone named Leander. Isao didn't remember if Zain had spoken of his past all that much, but could have sworn that there had been some references to the marines and world government being involved in the ruination of his life before they met. Lost in thought, Isao almost missed Alalbel's departure as she waved them on into the kitchen and Trevelyan's company. She seemed like she'd been hesitant or something, but Isao couldn't put his finger on it. Then the smell of seared fish tickled his nostrils and his stomach growled, a pointed reminder that it had been some time since any real food had passed his lips. Seeing the table all set, Isao sat down and tucked in, marveling that he could still separate the delectable flavors even though he was eating like a man starved for weeks. Seeing they were alone, Isao decided to broach his nagging thoughts, lest they drive him nuts. "So Trevelayn, I noticed that you don't exactly seem to have any deep love of the temple or the order of monks, and you had a look in your eyes taht I've seen in a few others, notably Zain S. Sayad, so tell me, what exactly did happened in your past that haunts you so much even today?" |

"This island feels really depressing, you know?" Strolling down the dock, a slightly unusual pair took in the sights of this equally strange island they had just landed at. The one who had commented was a woman, around her late teens, whose most notable feature was her electric blue hair which she wore in twin ponytails reaching all the way down to her knees. Her eyes were a similar blue, seemingly upbeat and cheery but equally critical of their surroundings. Worn over her noticeably voluptuous body was a white tank top that exposed her navel with an unbuttoned light blue shirt over the top. On her lower half was a pair of long navy blue shorts, and on her feet were sandals. In addition, she had a coiled chain hanging from her hips, which closer inspection would reveal to be a bladed weapon. "It must be because I wasn't here up until now." Sam brushed off the ridiculous theory of the boy walking next to her just as she did with nearly everything that came out of his mouth. Despite the hot and sunny weather he was wearing his signature brilliant white suit, alongside a black shirt and an orange tie to compliment his hair of the same colour. Unlike the girl, who looked around nonchalantly, Cobalt radiated arrogance as though he owned the whole island and everyone on it. This was because as far as his disillusioned mind was concerned, he did. "They'll be as excited to see you as they'll be to see me." "You must be more well-known than I thought." "Not at all." She concluded, leaving Cobalt a few minutes to process what she meant. As opposed to what she had followed up with, her comment about the island being eerily gloomy was not witty sarcasm. She hadn't really noticed until she had stepped onto the land, but once she had it immediately hit her like a wave. On top of the people seeming rare, anyone could tell at a glance how bleak the majority of them were. Even the buildings lacked the basic flair most ordinary homes would have, and the streets were devoid of liveliness. Of course, this immediately peaked Sam's curiosity and had her dying to know more about the place. "We can probably find out about this island in there. If anything, we could at least learn more about the Grand Line." Sam pointed at a nearby temple, looming over many of the other buildings. It was common knowledge that bigger things were more important, so she would be more likely to get some information there than at some random house. She was also mildly interested in getting inside, so that she could cool down a bit. It wasn't particularly hot by normal standards, but for Sam it was enough to make her uncomfortable even in sparse clothing. "Hey, I'm looking for a guide or something." Without bothering to knock, Sam strode into the building she could now recognise as a place of worship. They usually had open doors anyway, so coming in uninvited shouldn't have been too big a deal. "Is this a church? For what religion?" Edited by Oceonax, Aug 10 2014, 04:03 PM.
