Amazing sat on the stool at the counter of the kitchen. She lightly swung her legs back and forth as she consumed a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Chasing the classic food choice with a bit of vodka, she turned and looked to see if anyone was around her, keeping her head tucked in a bit. The woman didn't look to good in her current state. Her hair was all over the place and frizzled, she had dark bags under her eyes, and her banana-patterned pajamas were dingy-looking and just plain unkempt. Her eyes also had a rather far away look to them, not locking-on on any object or place in particular and just there, open and unfocused. The small brown marine took the last bite of her meal and sighed lightly. Throwing the last of her drink down the hatch, Amazing cleaned up after herself before heading back to her room. She flopped down onto her bed and stared up at her ceiling. The marine leader of this little letter-carrying operation had called a meeting that would commence in twenty or so minutes. It was going to be a final briefing, maybe more of a pep talk of sorts, for the delivery that they were about to do. A task that had suddenly been thrust upon them to deliver a large amount of packages and parcels to quite a few chefs competing in a tournament on Iron Knife Island. When turning in the pirates they had captured, the superior officers who collected the men had unloaded a myriad of boxes and packages on the trio. All of those packages currently resided in the command room for easy access. There was also an ulterior motive for her calling this meeting. Her subordinate officer, Yori Leriwyn, had killed one of the pirates that they fought against on their last island. The pirate had a bounty, but he was also a child. Criminal or upstanding citizen, Amazing felt that everyone deserved to live out their life, even if it was behind bars for the rest of it. Amazing wanted to tell the female officer, and Jaqk though it didn't really apply to him, that killing would not be allowed under any circumstance other than saving the life of someone or if directed to by one of the three admirals or anyone above them. The small woman also felt a little bad, as she hadn't really said much to the female officer over the past few days either. Sure, things were awkward because they had just met up, but they had gotten along so swimmingly until Amazing found out about the killing. The female acted as though nothing was wrong but probably let it slip out with the way she acted. Despite how she looked, Amazing had already showered and brushed her teeth earlier in the day. The constant writhing around in her bed and rubbing her head was the reason her hair was frizzled. Amazing sat up when there were about five minutes left until the meeting. She dressed herself in a purple shirt that was similar in coloring to the lettering on the sides of the ship. Her shorts were khaki in color and she wore her signature black combat boots, folded down at the sides. Amazing lost one of her previous caps on the Boin Archipelago, but she found another one that looked exactly like it among her others. She stuffed her hair into her hat, leaving a few tendrils hanging down at the front. Last but not lest was the purple neckerchief she tied around her neck and let hang down. She trudged her way to the command center from her room and began to organize things a bit for the meeting. There were a lot of items to be delivered, so she had also been working on a strategy to get the packages delivered to their recipients by planning routes. Amazing dished out a few paper drawings of the town and the routes that she wanted to take when delivering. It would be a stretch to get them to memorize it in time, but both her subordinates seemed to be very smart people. Taking a seat, Amazing looked at all of the paperwork she had been given when tasked with this delivery. The marine sighed deeply and with much exasperation upon being reminded of a little extra bit of info. "I forgot about this stipulation. Items arrive within thirty hours or less after ordering or their money back; money that comes out of our pay. We only have four hours left to deliver all of this and we haven't even reached the docks yet." Her superiors seemed to have charged these people out the ass with delivery prices, meaning they had the utmost confidence in her to keep all of their money in their pockets. Eventually our fisherman was relieved and was able to achieve a few hours asleep each when he was taking care of any other duties that has risen while aboard the sailing post office. Luckily enough for both Ensign Leriwyn and Junior Lieutenant Grace, Jaqk didn't require many hours of sleep per day or every-other-day but if he had exerted a fair amount of energy, just like most others, he would require some amount of time to sleep otherwise his ability to do his job could decline. As well, Jaqk only ate once a day at most - again an every-other-day sort of deal came into play like with his sleeping schedule. He was the near-perfect officer for tactics or investigations but alas he was delivering mail with the W.O.R.M.S division - which he didn't have any ill thoughts toward the division and would do what's required and asked of him, and then some. Over the few days he's been aboard the transport ship, Jaqk's mostly kept to himself in his room or secluded on deck to allow himself some time to fish. He wasn't fishing for food or keeps and released anything he had reeled in. After they had dropped off the two living prisoners and the corpse of one - they were given their first delivery as a team. It wasn't anything extraordinary but there was a lot of bulk of what they were to deliver. They were heading toward an island called Iron Knife - it wasn't somewhere that Jaqk was familiar with of course but he was informed by whomever that the massive delivery was intended for a cooking tournament on the island. At the time he had pondered if any of them were perishable but figured that since they were to be stored in the command room that they were in fact not. He didn't question into the subject, either. On the day that they were arriving, Jaqk was seated in his room at his desk by the door and laid out around the desk in front of him were all of the seeds he had confiscated from the former prisoners and some others that he had found and never mentioned. When they were dropping off the prisoners, he had also had some information relayed to him after he had given the base his report on what had occurred on the field, as well as what happened prior to the arrival of the Junior Lieutenant. He had learned that these seeds that each of the prisoners had on them, which were also found in the Boin Archipelagos were called "Pop Greens" and they were seeds that grew to plants and other such greenery in moments. They were often used as weapons and tools as demonstrated by the prisoners, with very few rare ones forming into sentient plants. There are more than enough types of seeds and the greenery that are grown from them that makes them useful for nearly every situation imaginable. Other than the 'Tanglewolf' that he had found, he had a lot more that he didn't even know what they did. As well, that they could be grown in a normal garden to keep up the supply of them. Looking up at his clock on the wall, the time for the meeting that the Junior Lieutenant had scheduled for the trio was in just a few moments and because of that, the fisherman put away the seeds he had out in his tackle box. However, he kept the red one - which of course was Tangle. Though he didn't pop and Jaqk simply stored him away in his coat pocket and made his way out the door. His memory was well enough that after having either been shown around (by Grace) or exploring on his own he had memorized the layout of the ship and could easily enough get around with out much effort. It wasn't too long and he opened the door to the command room and walked into the package-filled room. Hands clasped together behind his back as he approached the seated Junior Lieutenant and when close enough he turned so that he would be facing her. "Junior Lieutenant." -- he greeted. |

And so time passed on for the assassin. The quiet life between missions was something she was fairly adapted to so the past couple days were like coming home for her. After a good night's sleep she recovered her stamina and Yori decided to do what she told herself to do. Finding a passion. For the past couple days, the ensign occupied herself with making the report on her devil fruit and various other hobbies. One could find her all round the ship really, just keeping busy quietly to herself. Over the past couple days, she had tried painting, rock balancing, zen gardening but found the most fun in origami. There was just something very enjoyable in being completely focussed on quietly folding paper so that it could make something cute. Yesterday she meticulously followed the steps in her book to create an adorable little paper bunny it sat on her desk as she was finishing up a 15 page report on her devil fruit. More of a guide on how to deal with her personalities, she was more so writing it for herself than for her superior officer to know about the ins and outs of the ability. Actually writing down her experiences with the fruit so far had proven to increase her own understanding of it as well. While Junior Lieutenant Grace kept her distance out of awkwardness or the like, Yori just never felt the need to specifically seek out contact with her or Jaqk. The assassin got the feeling that Jaqk also didn't particularly deal much with any of them on his own as well. She had rarely seen him outside of his room to begin with. Oh well, not like she was bored at all. Besides the origami, she always had her guns to clean and maintain as well as myriad of novels to read. Recently picking up this novel about a secret agent called John Smith. The author, John S. Flumming, seems to have an ongoing series with this and there was just something really charming about a covert ops action romance adventure story. The one she picked up was "Gambling Hall Regale", the first in a trilogy. So far it was pretty alright though it seems the main character got a lot of attention from everyone despite being a spy. He also always used his real name. For as much of a real name Yori could assume it was. Then there was the female lead, which functioned as sort of a femme fatale and love interest at the same time. It wasn't that clear right now but judging by the way the story was going and the suave charms of this John Smith fellow, the ensign could only roll her eyes at the inevitable scene where they end up spending the night together. Yori put the book down a while ago however. Sitting at her desk she had just finished up the report on her abilities in time. Getting up and putting on her thick white coat with the fur trim, she was wearing a black tanktop, black short shorts and long black leather boots that reached almost all the way to her shorts, revealing just a couple inches of skin on her legs at best. The heel was shorter than you'd expect, she needed practical attire not some catwalk scene. Besides, she didn't really have the body type to pull off much more. Strapping her gun belt on, she only had her handguns in it right now. An assassin needed to be constantly vigilant and prepared. Not like she wanted to shoot anyone, she wasn't some sort of animal. Taking the report in hand, it had a nice brown folder. The ensign left her room and closed the door after her, making haste as she walked. Punctuality was a thing she would not drop for any circumstance. Being fashionably late was not in her mode of operation. Her expression blank as usual, her hair just a tad spiky and with a little ponytail on the back. She still had the purple tips at the end of her charcoal black spiky locks, it was something she really adored for the moment. Entering the meeting room, she was seemingly the last to arrive. This upset her, though not visually. She kept her usual apathetic appearance as she made a salute. "Ensign Leriwyn, reporting in. I have complied the report on my Devil Fruit ability as well." the young woman spoke in a bit of a serious tone. Naturally she'd wait for the at ease order to assume a more relaxed position but for now, feet held together and arms behind her back, holding the report there as well. This was the first delivery mission she'd be a part of so she wanted to make a good impression. That and she was certain her ability would come in handy. After all, she could be in 4 places at once, technically speaking... |

Amazing greeted Jaqk, who entered into the room first. "Morning, Officer." When the man did not sit down, the smaller marine felt a bit weirded out and shot up to her feet in response. She stood there, looking back at the masked man who she was sure was probably looking back at her. The tiny female stood there awkwardly, not knowing what to do. "A-Am I supposed to tell him to sit?" she asked herself, thinking back to her training days. She remembered her officer telling her and her comrades to always stay at attention until instructed otherwise. "I thought that was just something they did to be hard on you. To shape us up. With the old W.O.R.M.S. group, we were pretty relaxed and never too formal with one another..." Just as Amazing was about to speak up, the door opened up again and revealed the final member. "O-okay," Amazing said as she received the files from the woman. The marine nodded before sitting down. "Let's sit," she said aloud to make sure the other members knew that they were allowed to take their seats. "So..." Amazing popped back up onto her feet. "I guess you both know that we received a load of packages after trading in the prisoners." The squad leader looked around at said packages. "All of these are being delivered to various places around the next island, Iron Knife. This huge influx was because of some sort of competition or something. I din't have the exact details on the reasons, I just know we have to deliver these things." Amazing sighed before plopping back down into her chair. "There is one extra thing, though... If we don't make all of these deliveries in the next four hours, our pay will be docked for each package outside of the allotted time." Amazing took two large sheets that she had worked on earlier and slid the forward toward each of her subordinates. The papers were basically large maps wit doodles, lines, arrows and notes written on them. "I'm sorry that I'm not that good of an artist, but I did the best I could. Anyways, these are some maps of the island with routes and junk I made for optimal delivery times. Of course, the maps do not count for construction, new obstacles or other things so you will have to make the best use of what you can. You two both seem "Thanks for the report, Ensign Leriwyn. I'm sure that this information will be vital to today's deliveries. I'll go over it as we approach the island. Are there any questions about the deliveries before I continue on to the next topic?" Amazing paused to wait for any questions from her subordinates. |

When the small superior had given permission to be seated, Jaqk had slowly pulled the chair closest to him from the table and took his seat - rolling it back toward the able and with some proper-seating posture that would be expected from a near poster-boy representation of a Marine in the way he handled his job. With the seat, he brought his arms closer to his chest in the typical crossed-over the other position and (likely) after the Ensign had taken her seat, as well as the Junior Lieutenant returning to hers - seated and ready she began with what she had brought them in to discuss about... not until she was back up and standing vertical. The deliveries were heading for Iron Knife and there were quite a few of them stacked around the room - a bit too many but Jaqk kept the comment to himself. Back in the chair she went, Jaqk looked over to her and listened intently as per-norm of him. However, what she had to say next did bring the smallest amount of worry to Jaqk - had they had been informed sooner of this than it wouldn't have been an issue. Though his Marine paycheck wasn't all that important to him in the end - it's the assignment they were given and if their first assignment as a group; a team - then it wouldn't look to well for them. Not only himself, but Leriwyn and Grace, too. He didn't say anything, not just yet - he took one of the papers, maps, that the Junior Lieutenant had taken the liberty of drawing-up for them in hopes that it would make the deliveries go far smoother. Quickly scanning it over - it was mentally etched but he would keep it on hand just in case. Folding it up nicely, he placed it in one of his inner-coat pockets. When the opportunity of questions was given by the Junior Lieutenant, Jaqk contemplated for a moment before he ran a hand over his mouth - but then looked toward the short superior and nodded. "It's safe to assume that we'll be using Ensign Leriwyn's Devil Fruit's abilities - did you factor that into the delivery times?" -- he began with a glance to Leriwyn, "If we throw Tangle into the mix - it's contribution would help greatly." -- the fisherman then glanced around the room at the far too many packages and such, ".. and we're not too far out from the island?" -- he added - wanting to calculate time and how much time would have when they docked. "I could check into the other 'Pop Greens' that we had confiscated and that I had located on the island to see if they may be of any use." -- he thought on that for swift moment, "But that may be too time consuming.." -- another pause from the fisherman who thought too much, "Do we have any form of land-transport or will it be as many packages at a time that we can carry? -- and how many packages go to the same party of people or are every single one of them going to individuals?" -- the mask rubbed his chin for a second as he was running ideas through his mind. |

Being welcomed in this was probably the first significant social interaction the crew had since they left the Boin Archipelago. Maintaining her rather formal expression, she nodded lightly to Jaqk as a way of saying hi without actually saying anything. Taking a seat when told to, she didn't really expect it. Was the junior lieutenant not used to ordering people around? How odd, she was higher in rank though it seems the suspicions from before were coming more true than ever. She lacked leadership experience still. Not like Yori had much of her own or was a brilliant tactician but it was the hesitation in their boss' behaviour that worried her a bit. Never the less, as soon as the talk over mail started, Yori regained her confidence in her. Going over the mission in brief, it seemed clear enough. The assassin nodded in understanding periodically to signal she was listening carefully. With the map being shown, Yori didn't mind the crooked lines. It wasn't that bad at all. Perhaps she was being humble? Then again, Grace was a modest person so it fit. Taking a look at the map it didn't seem like the island was too big. Several destinations marked, there were also a lot of packages headed for the town plaza? Was there some sort of reason for this? Yori got a little thoughtful mulling this over until she remembered this was one of the famous cooking islands. The packages going to the same plaza were likely generic ingredients for the cooking competition. They were also tasked with the specific deliver of high end supplies of course. Every chef wanted an edge in this heated competition. After hearing that they only had roughly 4 hours left to deliver this all, she got a look of worry on her face. It's not that she cared much about the money but this basically meant their division's funding would go down on the first proper mission they got. This was unacceptable, they needed to do justice proper. Her mouth corners remaining worried, the rest of her expression shifted back to it's usual apathy. Nodding more noticeably in understanding as she was thanked for the report, the junior lieutenant asked if there were any questions. Thinking it over a bit, the master chief petty officer beat her to the punch just as she opened her mouth. Closing it again, he was already asking everything she was concerned about as well so there was no real need for her to speak up. As for the deliveries, Yori was quite confident they could get around quick enough. She was able to use up to 4 opposites at a time right now so that's 4 different places she could go at a time. That is, if everyone did what they were supposed to do. Should be manageable right now, duty was on the line and all of her personality aspects had that in their core... Some more than others though it all mattered to her in the end. Everything seemed to be in order, the ensign would just await the answers from Grace right now. She didn't have any additional questions after all. And mail waits for no one. Edited by GlasgowSmiley, May 16 2014, 05:24 PM.

Amazing waited for the questions, which did eventually come. A multitude from the Officer and none from the Ensign, whose questions were probably already asked by the Officer. Amazing jotted down each question and note as he asked, as to not interrupt his train of thought. The male was uncharacteristically long-winded, so she decided to do a quick scan of the report given to her by the officer. Once he was finished saying and asking a boatload of things, Amazing began reading over what she had written down. "The Ensign's Devil Fruit Abilities..." Amazing quickly peeked toward the one in question before looking at the Officer. "Yes, but... I did not know that she was capable of making up to four. The tiny bit of info I skimmed from the report while you were talking has shown me that it may not be something we want to use to its fullest. The more numbers of Ensign Leriwyn there are, the more her capabilities reduce." "Next is... Wolfie?" Amazing didn't want to put too much stress on the poor thing, but she had considered using it if its owner would allow. When it as in it's hostile mode, it was pretty darn fast and not to be underestimated. "I'll think of some way to use him, but if you want to take him with you, then sure, I guess. As for being away from the island, we are about twenty minutes out-" Amazing looked up at the clock in the command center. "Maybe fifteen or so now. We'll have ten minutes of prep time after docking and then begin to move out immediately." The small marine thought further for a few seconds to see if there was anything else on either of those subjects that needed to be gone over. Using her petite finger, she skimmed along down the list until she arrived at the next thing. "Pop Green? What's tha- oh! The seeds that we confiscated from those pirates. If you want to check them beforehand, I do not mind. But please be careful. I don't want any of those explode-y seeds to harm any of the island residents or pedestrians. Once we dock though, your time to check them out is pretty much up." Speaking of them, Amazing had confiscated a few of her own seeds from the pirates and had managed to find some on the island. She wanted to see what they did, but felt that she should see of she could plant them like regular seeds as to not let them go to waste. The seeds she had taken from Phoenix were all resting idly beneath her garden's soil with the other plants that she cultivated.. "Land transport? Like a bicycle or something? Hehe... We're couriers, not bike messengers!" Amazing moved on to the next question, feeling that the previous one was answered. "Any packages that go to the same person, group or establishment are grouped together. Those boxes over there may seem like an unorganized mess, But I was very meticulous about the grouping of them in accordance with the route I laid out. I don't think anymore than tree things goes to the same place, so that may be when you need to use Wolfie to help you take some things." Amazing yawned and stretched her arms upwards. "I want mid-ranged deliveries to be done first so that we can get a feel for the island and weed out any possible obstructions that weren't accounted for." Amazing reached down and pulled up a larger version of the maps she had handed out. "I forgot to mention this, but if you come upon an obstruction, be sure to mark it off on this map as well as your own to remember where it was and for others to mark it off on their maps when they see it." "Okay! Onto what I wanted to talk about..." Amazing's tone became a bit more dull as she looked toward the Ensign. "Well... First of all I want to say, that I'm not mad- not after thinking it over, anyways. Officer Us- Jaqk and Ensign Leriwyn. I want you both to know that we are simply a squad within the Letter W.O.R.M.S. Division. Our prime focus is to get packages and letters to the people. We do have to catch pirates sometimes, but that' is just what we do: catch them. I will not tolerate any killing from any of us. Not unless the life of an innocent or fellow marine is in danger. I know you used to be an assassin or something, but please do your best to put that life and those habits behind you for as long as you are a member here." The small marine took a deep breath to compose herself before starting up again. "There will be no reprimands or anything, as his wanted poster technically did say dead or alive, but for future reference please remember that we, in this squad and of this overarching division, will always use the alive portion." "If there is anything that needs to be said, please speak your piece now. Anything about the delivery can be saved for while we dock and prep." |

Despite this being a mail delivery division, it was still a lot like any other other marine crew. The meeting was coming along swimmingly, just like the many other's Yori had participate din prior to this one. Given those were briefings on assassinations and whatnot but t all came down to the same details. Grace was to the point and specific enough for Yori to take note of all her advice. Making sure she had a marker with her, the note about the map was one of the more important ones. She figured she could try the first run with 2 and then on the way back try 4 once she got a hang of the town. Listening carefully to what Grace had to say, she nodded in understanding on occasion. The information about the packages that she relayed was simple enough for her to pick up on, despite never really working a mail courier job before. All in all she was glad they had an experienced superior officer to explain and address all these details. Truth be told, she was quite interested in today's mission, even if her expression didn't relay said enthusiasm. But then the mood changed a bit. It seems after the practical details there was a different point on the agenda. An embargo on lethal use of her weaponry. Yori opened her eyes a bit wider in response to the order, yet not really an order at the same time. It seemed Grace was still a bit shy about telling what her subordinate officers should do. Yori closed her eyes in thought as she was processing it all letting out a bit of a sigh, she nodded. Opening her eyes, her expression remained unchanged. "Directive noted Junior Lieutenant... I will refrain from making lethal shots." the assassin replied somewhat seriously. Her tone wasn't particularly angry or sad but had just a little more emotion to it than usual. It's not like she minded it much but... perhaps somewhere deep inside it did? Her entire life, from the moment she left home had bee kill or be killed. Now she was under a mercy rule and it somehow... Managed to sting her just a little bit. It didn't sit well. Perhaps she had developed a thirst for it after all these years? Then again she was indifferent about the whole thing. No, it was different. She was scared. Back then when Tangle first attacked Jaqk, she could feel fear. Fear that she'd see the death of a team mate. Same for when Grace ran off into the night. Fear... Fear that if she didn't end it all, they would. So that's what it was. Perhaps she needed to trust her team mates more to get over this fear? All in all there wasn't much she could do about it right now any way. There was an exception given and the thought of using that in the most broadest of interpretations crossed her mind briefly but that would be unfair to everyone at this table. Trust was the key here. leaving the group with another round of questions, Yori decided that she had none. The details of delivery and their destinations were there and the practical stuff was just running around with a package. She could manage that much without an in depth explanation along with Jaqk asking the stuff she would think of on first glance, there was little more to add on her part. "Nothing of real importance but... We're free in how we deliver these packages, I presume? I was thinking of using the rooftops and alleyways if the streets get too crowded. Additionally I was thinking on starting out with 2 opposites at first to get a feel of the town and the roads, move on to 4 with the next wave. I may lose capabilities but I'm still stronger and faster than the average marine. Considering it's a non-combat mission I believe I will be able to handle myself should anything arise." the ensign stated her plans for the crew to know. Best to notify them before they see 2 new personalities pop up all of a sudden and surprise everyone. They got quite diverse, opposites after all... |

Anything and everything that the Junior Lieutenant had said in response to Jaqk's inquiries or had said otherwise was taken and mentally noted - word for word - in Jaqk's noggin. After all of that had been jotted down, Jaqk had decided that it would be best to test out and 'play' with the Pop Greens another time - he would bring Tangle along for the sake of efficiency during the delivers so that he could bring more with him than what he, himself, could only carry. It'd make the job easier and they would be able to make the deadline, hopefully, without any mishaps or delays. It would not be as effected as Leriwyn's abilities that stem from her Devil's Fruit, but it would suffice for the fisherman. With all the answers out of the way and such, Jaqk had turned on his usual mute-mode and remained silent for anything else that the short superior had to say and as it turned out there was a much deeper subject that she wouldn't bring up until the initial part of the meeting was done and over with. Again, Jaqk allowed himself to take every word that Grace allowed to leave her lips - and the subject, as it stood, was directed at Ensign Leriwyn. The words that the Junior Lieutenant spoke was something that Jaqk could easily follow - even if it didn't sound like a direct order and more of a personal preference while they're subordinates of Junior Lieutenant Grace. However it was something that the fisherman already lived by - he would never resort to taking the life of another, breathing creature, human or otherwise and that included even Fishmen despite the hatred he held against them. There wasn't much of anything for Jaqk to add - he remained silent but his hidden eyes glanced over toward the Ensign: It was hard to get a read on her by searching for an expression of any sorts that may reveal itself on face. But that moment of thought - the sigh spoke words of it's own in some form and the minuscule amount of emotion that had leaked out through her words. Despite having only known the Ensign for a short time, while they were in the Boin Archipelago that was her most common way of expressing anything other than the mask she seemed to have usually hid behind - the small amount of details in her voice that leaked from time to time. From what Jaqk knew - she was a very well trained assassin and he didn't know exactly how long she had done such work - but given she had no qualms with pulling the trigger on a mark and showed no remorse - he had to at least assume it was for quite sometime. He could only imagine that having such a embargo tact'd onto her had to effect her in some form or fashion; especially if it was what she had lived by for so long. An example of coming to mind were addicts; alcoholics, drugs - anything that often lead to addictive behavior. The officer didn't want to label her as such because now - only time would tell. Withdrawal would appear, in time. For all Jaqk knew was that she didn't have to live like that and it was just something she had grown used to during her former job and has such adapted to it - and the same could be said that she could adapt to not ending the life of another. Nothing could be certain. With Jaqk having nothing to add to the former subject, Leriwyn followed up with a question of her own - and this time instead of only his eyes looking out of their corner, the fisherman turned slightly so that he would be looking toward her in a more respectful manner and when her question had came to an end, "I believe that would be in our best interest if we are to make the deadline." -- he spoke in suggestive manner, "There is a large enough marine presence on Iron Knife Island and such there shouldn't be anything that would involve combat and if there were, there are plenty of others to deal with situations that arise while we do what we're assigned to do." -- he looked to Grace for a moment and then back to Leriwyn to add, "I understand that the ability makes each Opposite weaker the more you make - so long as it's not physically stressful." -- he paused and then looked to Grace again, "Leriwyn's ability to travel faster via rooftop and other miscellaneous ways will make things easier." -- he pointed out the obvious, but he easily assumed that Grace did not care so long as everything was delivered before the deadline and that there were no damage to anything with their varies ways of travel. And after everything would be said and done from Leriwyn and Grace, Jaqk would inform the two of them that he would head out on-deck and get everything ready for them to dock, so that there wasn't much time wasted on that upon arrival and then get himself and Tangle ready for the work ahead - as there was only about twelve minutes before they docked. |

Amazing breathed a silent sigh of relief when there was no resistance put up by the officer. She wasn't really expecting any, as the Ensign seemed to be rather professional when it came to her job. Despite the quick agreement, there was still the chance that her instincts would take over in the spur of the moment. "I can't think like that! I have to trust her- I have to trust my crew! I can't be a squad leader without trust." Getting out of hr own head, Amazing turned to her female subordinate who began to speak up. The small marine listened intently while thinking up her own strategy on the subject. Just as she was going to give the Ensign a response, the male of the group spoke up with his own thoughts on the matter. "Well, if you're absolutely sure that you can handle deliveries with four copies, you may do so. Any method you would like to take to deliver things, you may do. Just make sure that you do not take out more packages than you can handle on your own. I may need one of your opposites to help me on a few deliveries. We'll all definitely need to collaborate on the last delivery, as that is about five packages in total to one person. As for the safety of the island, I'm sure that it's a relatively secure place. But you never know what could happen. There are always the reckless sorts of pirates that totally ignore any marine presence." Amazing stopped speaking as she ran out of things to say. "Yes, that's fine Officer Jaqk. Thanks. Oh! And There will be a checklist with the packages I'll put up. Be sure to check off what you take when you take it out for a delivery." Amazing began organizing the things on the table as Jaqk left. Right after she finished putting things away and organizing what she had to do, she grabbed a nearby clipboard. The paper clipped to the board had a long list of addresses and names and quantities of items. Amazing began walking along the stacks of boxes and checking off the boxes as she went along to make sure that they were all there. Each package seemed to be in superb condition and accounted for, so there was not much else to do besides a little more prepping. Placing the clipboard back on the table, she gathered a few pens and placed them all on the table next to the clipboard. "What to do..." she asked herself, looking around for something else to do. If she were alone or with her old squad, she'd help park the ship, but Jaqk didn't seem the type of guy to need or want help. Turning to the door to the lower sections of the ship, she entered through it and descended the staircase. Amazing ran straight toward the kitchen and looked around herself. She began opening and closing cupboards until one with something that she needed presented itself. Reaching into the cabinet, she pulled out a large, purple tote bag and smiled. Walking over to the fridge, she opened it up and began throwing things in. Once it was filled with what she needed in it, she began moving to other places throughout the kitchen and throwing in items she found from there. Amazing nodded to herself and quickly made her way back to the command center. She began laying out the things she pulled from the kitchen out on the table; water bottles, juice containers, cups, baguettes, and a variety of snacks like jerky, crackers and cheese. The squad leader felt that with them all returning to the ship many times throughout the next few hours that they'd need to most definitely refuel. With the island being a spot for chefs, the prices of food and drink would probably be outrageous so it was best to use what they had on the ship and not pay exorbitant prices. Amazing grabbed her her messenger bag from the back of the chair that she was sitting in earlier and took in a deep breath. "Phew!" she said out loud. "First delivery as a W.O.R.M.S.' squad leader. I have to do the rest of the division proud!" lightly pumping her fist in front of herself, she waited anxiously for the time to disembark to come. |

"... Understood." the ensign replied to the directives given to her. Though handling mail was new for her, she perfectly understood the logic behind it all. It was part common sense, part advice from someone more experienced in the field. She took it in stride, not much to add to all the directives. Jaqk raised the concern of her ability to which Yori shook her head lightly: "The use of my ability isn't so straining on me, it's when my opposites get hurt is where the trouble starts. Summoning them is no harder than thinking about a strawberry sundae with whip cream... In a figure of speech... I will gladly assist you if you require my aide. It's what I'm here for after all." The assassin spoke when Jaqk and Grace addressed some of the details of her question. Overall her purpose was clear and her goal all listed out on a neat little list. Taking the copies of the paperwork she needed, Yori decided to leave at about the same time Jaqk did. "I will make my own preparations as well." The assassin left Grace with those words, making her way towards her room again. In her room she decided to properly prepare herself. Grabbing her guns, she only decided to hold onto her handguns for now. Her sniper was impractical in combat and the shotgun would cause too grievous wounds, even with her good aim. If she were to use 4, 2 of them would be unarmed. Perhaps she could acquire a standard issue marine rifle somewhere on the island for that event. According to her crew mates, the island had marine presence so it was certainly a possibility. Packing the papers in a hip bag she received earlier. It was made for this kind of thing and even had the W.O.R.M.S. Logo on it. In a way it was the first sign that she belonged in this crew. Making a smile that's ever so light, she made sure to pack a marker or two along with the papers. Being all set on the equipment front, the young woman's smile faded back to her indifferent look. Nothing left for her to do here, she locked her room on the way out and proceeded to the main deck. Arriving there, she might be able to spot Jaqk around, but she'd leave him to his work unless he called for her. Leaning on the railing, she looked towards the island. It seemed much like a busy little city state, though not particularly visible, she could sense the commotion from afar. People competing in high spirits... In a way, it reminded her of her home island. In a lot of ways. Perhaps this particular first delivery would be more nostalgic for her than she could imagine right now. Perhaps not at all, but only time could answer that question for her. The soft breeze ran through her hair as she closed her eyes. It was a nice feeling. Taking out a piece of square paper, Yori occupied herself folding it. Cranes were common but she lacked about 946 of them before she could make a wish. Even so, what would she even wish for? Slowly folding the crane, the assassin felt like she was creating more questions and problems than she was solving. That and the whole non-killing policy got her in a bit of fear. Fear on two sides really. One that she would not be able to prevent worse things from happening by showing mercy at the trigger. And a second side where she was afraid she'd get rejected by the division if she failed to abide by it. A fear that knowing she might have stopped a crime but showed mercy, enabling worse events to transpire, failing the promise she made all those years back... Or being alone all over again... Perhaps the latter was for the best, she didn't know any of her crew mates that well right now so letting go of it all was easier. Still, they protected her and saved her for no other reason than just being crew mates. Even if they disagreed with her methods, they didn't obstruct her before. Having finished folding a purple crane, the ensign stared at it with a blank expression. Time would tell her the answers and perhaps by then she'd figure out a wish too. |

After the officer had left the command room he had returned to the main deck to get to work with what he had told the Junior Lieutenant he would take care of and deal with. As the group were less than fifteen minutes away from the island and said island could be seen in the distance, he was quick to work so that there weren't any issues or delays as they closed the distance between the island and themselves. Luckily enough, the wind was in their favour today and because of this, Jaqk had turned off the engine - not to save fuel but for when they were closer there wasn't the chance that they would have turned it off too late and possibly dinged into the docks or likely stone-wall at the end of the docks. He proceeded to raise all but one sail and tie them off - the single sail was enough for the wind to push them the rest of the way. The time they had to arrive seemed to have flew by faster than Jaqk would have expected - but regardless of that, during the wait between arriving and such, Jaqk had taken the time to return to his room with the few minutes he had to spare to gather what he needed. He had located a marker that was then tucked into one of his inner-coat pockets, and after that he grabbed the leather strap that had Ringo's holster on his hip and wrapped it around his waist, fastening it and then walked over to his fishing pole cabinet, which resembles a gun cabinet but was of course modified for Jaqk's fishing rods - he retrieved Ringo from it and slid him into his holster at Jaqk's side - where it was located nine times out of ten. Lastly, he walked over to his tackle-box and opened it - he only had a few moments left but he contemplated, ultimately deciding against it as he didn't have time to test them safely. Instead, he kept only Tangle that was already in one of his inner-coat pockets. He had calculated time near perfectly as once he made it back out on deck, docking was near - he raised the final sail as it wasn't needed anymore. Although he had calculated the time to run back to the control room, he found it impractical for the helm to be located in such an area instead of outside so that it was easier to see where the ship was going - they were luckily enough already at a fair angle but Jaqk walked back into the command room, "We're about to dock, ma'am." -- he said to the Junior Lieutenant as he walked over to behind the helm and turned the ship so that they would pull-in perfectly alongside the dock. He locked the helm in place so it wouldn't move and took a hold of the lever near by and pulled it up to drop panels that were underneath the ship to slow it down. "As you were, Junior Lieutenant." -- with a bow of respect he made his way back out on deck. As the ship pulled up nicely and slowed down - Jaqk walked toward the anchor release and did as such - the anchor released and dropped down. Luckily enough, there were several dock workers who were there to help any ships that come in and out and were more-so obligated to help those of the Marine variety. Looking over the side of the ship, "Thank you." -- his normal, monotone and lacking words, but genuine gratitude nonetheless. There were several rolls of tough and durable rope that were tied-off on the ship and Jaqk tossed down the other end to the works below, only three ropes total - they pilled the ship closer to the dock that had plenty of rubber-padding tied down along side of it so that the ships didn't hit the dock itself. The dock-men tied off the sailing post office, and Jaqk dropped the gangplank down to the dock for when the W.O.R.M.S group themselves would start their deliveries. The men down below, despite not being actual marines, saluted to Jaqk out of respect. With just a quick moment of just.. staring at them, Jaqk returned the salute - and they went to help others and such things. Leriwyn was somewhere on deck and Grace likely wasn't too far behind after he had informed her that they were about to settle in mere moments. The sailing office was settled and secure - reaching into his pocket he pulled out the red seed of the Tanglewolf and flicked it on the ground - it rolled for a second or two before his vines erupted from the seed and he started to form and take the wolf shape. He's had quite a lot of rest, with what not having been used since they left the Boin Archipelagos - he was 'large and in-charge' as some might say. About seven to eight feet tall, from paw to shoulder and nearly twelve to fourteen feet long. All that rest sure paid off in his sheer size. The big lug flopped down and sat, seeking pets from someone -- and probably someone in particular. "She'll pop up any second now." -- and Tangle sure knew how to form a smile as he spun himself around, looking for the small superior - likely catching a glimpse at Ensign Leriwyn, too. While he still didn't favour her over Jaqk or Grace, he didn't outright hate her.. completely. Taking a walk over to the front of the ship, Jaqk looked out and over. If he could remember correctly from the map, where the docks were located was 'The Handle' town and from where Jaqk was standing, once you were off the crowded docks alone, the streets were crowded and there were food carts everywhere - there were far too many food aromas fighting their way into Jaqk's nostrils. Everything smelt delicious regardless of that - but the packed streets, the food carts and people going up, down, left, right, back.. a mess of a start this was going to be. Leriwyn's parkour way of travel would definitely help - but Jaqk would formulate something for him and Tangle. He'd have to. Walking back over to where Tangle is (and with the vicinity of Leriwyn) and (hopefully) the Junior Lieutenant. "The traffic down there is hectic and may be an issue. If you organized the packages from front to back, meaning that the packages that are to be delivered to locations closest to the docks are the ones we grab first and ones further into the island are in the back - we should be able to make the deadline, no problem." -- hands clasped as he looked to the Junior Lieutenant, "I assume that you have them organized that way, however - as this isn't your first delivery." -- his monotone wasn't as heavy as it normally was - it was a respectful and more.. normal than usual. |

Amazing lingered around with the packages until Officer Jaqk appeared. He informed her of their docking, which she could clearly see due to the windows being all around the command center. The tiny marine simply nodded as she continued organizing the snacks and packages and whatever else she could conceivably do before having to head outside. She was just about finished when Jaqk announced his departure. Sighing, the female was about to move back out to the deck when she remembered something that she had to grab from her room before leaving. As said before, there most likely was not going to be combat, but she didn't feel as good without her weapons since she had them for so long. The caramel female raced down to her room to grab her bat Brionna, and her gun, Lisa, before finally arriving onto the deck. Arriving out on deck she took in the view of the island. Though she could clearly see it through the windows, seeing it without the barrier between her and the island was a much better view. The sea air and the aroma being given off from the town intermingled exquisitely. Amazing's mouth would have been been overflowing with saliva if she hadn't already eaten. Looking around, she saw that the island was quite busy; people were fluttering about the docks and there were nice, albeit very busy, dock workers helping ships dock into the harbor. The woman surveyed the town for a little bit before making her way to the gangplank. On the docks, she spotted a familiar entity that she hadn't seen in a few days. "Wolfie!" she exclaimed joyfully as she leapt off of the gangplank and through the air. The minuscule female was quickly scooped out of the air and bounced up and down on the tanglewolf's neck and head. She laughed and smiled with each subsequent bounce and pet the animal and scratched behind its ears each time she landed. Noticing Jaqk walking up, she kindly asked the plant-made animal to stop and it let her down. The squad leader straightened up and cleared her throat with a cough. "AHEM!" Once her balled fist was brought down from her mouth, one would notice that much didn't change. Amazing still wore that extremely wide, childlike grin on her face from being constantly tossed up and down on the large plant creature that towered over her. "For the most part, they are organized like that." Amazing paused and held her hand up to scratch the throat of the tanglewolf whom had lowered its head. "As I said earlier, the first delivery is to get a feel for the area, so they will be packages that are headed towards what I consider to be a 'midway point'. That's just fancy speak for midway to where our furthest delivery will reach, though in all honesty, it may be shorter tan that." Amazing brought her hand down from Wolfie's chin and continued speaking to her subordinates. "Also! Be sure to have people sign for their packages and bring the carbon copy back with you. However, it's not entirely too important, so just fold it up and throw it in your pocket or whatever. As long as you have it and it's legible it should be A-OK!" "You guys can get started as soon as you're ready! You'll both probably be much faster than me, considering you both have something to help you along." Amazing nodded. "Any final words before we go out?" |

The work around the ship was something Jaqk handled. For as much Yori was interested in helping out, the man had kind of established it to be his job and didn't want to butt in unless asked to. Regardless, he seemed to be handling everything quite well. If work like this was therapeutic, perhaps it was relaxing for her fellow officer to do it all on his own? She once rode along with a captain when she still had a lower rank than his and the man did all his own sail hoisting as well. When confronting him about it the man just laughed and said that he was doing it since he was a cabin boy. Force of habit becoming a thing of relaxation? Or perhaps a grip on security? Maybe even just a re-assuring sign that the job was done right when you yourself did it? It was puzzling to assassin. Then again, she had her own set of hobbies so she just settled on that. She did want to try some of the ship work sometimes. As the ship was docking, Yori realised she could get a package or two and get going after the last small briefing. She thought that there would be one, considering the crew was still docking. Walking back to the pile of packages, it seems she just missed Grace. Grabbing two packages with different addresses on the front of the pile, she put one of them in the bag she carried and put the other under her arm. It seems the one under her arms was headed somewhere nearby on the handle. The one in her back should only be a couple streets further away. With the opportunity she grabbed another copy of the map for her opposites. Walking back out on the main deck, Grace ad Jaqk were down on the docks already. The look on her face being the same as usual when she strolled down to join the group, it all felt like things were progressing smoothly. That and the look the tanglewolf gave her was becoming annoying. The urge to put a bullet to it's nose again was rising. The thing was basically eating her fellow officer and despite the fact that she let it live for the past couple days it still had no neutral mood around her. Heaving a bit of a sigh, she listened to the final directives of their Junior Lieutenant. At the last remark, she thought to herself for a bit and then suddenly realised they lacked a form of proper communication. "... Does any one of you two have a... Den Den Mushi?" the assassin spoke up. Reaching in her coat for hers she pulled out a cute little snail with some numbers on it's side, much like a dial up. Holding it out for the two of them to see, the assassin continued: "I used these on... Missions before. They are a useful tool for communication and well... They just look cute too. They come in all sorts of colours and whatnot and aren't too expensive so if we complete our deliveries on time, we should consider getting some. If anything they make good means of talking long distance." The ensign spoke but paused before she said missions. There was still this awkward tension surrounding her previous occupation and she hope to avoid that as much as possible. "I believe that's all from me. Unless there are more notes I need to consider, I am ready to leave..." she spoke, awaiting a response. She didn't have much to add likely but decided to wait just in case something important could slip her by. This was her first mail mission after all. She had taken note of the addresses and saw that splitting up after a certain point further in the island would be more advantageous hence she didn't right now. Besides with all the internal conflict going on in her right now, she didn't want to expose the rest of the crew to bickering, how brief it may be. |

"I believe we're all ready." -- Jaqk said as the assassin had finished her piece. With a quick gesture of his fingers to Tangle, the wolf would likely force one more pet out of the Junior Lieutenant before he'd leap up and onto the deck of the ship - "I'll gather several packages and head out." -- he said directly to the Junior Lieutenant, followed with a bow as he made his way back up the gangplank and headed toward the command center - there he would locate two satchels, one for himself to carry over his shoulder and one to have attached to Tangle. Taking a moment, he carefully considered which packages to bring - there were plenty to choose from but he could very well fit three to four decent sized packages in each satchel, and if he were to go for even smaller ones he could easily knock off plenty of time. But he would ultimately go in the order that the short superior had put the packages in and he was able to put three into his own satchel, and two into the satchel that would be attached to Tangle. Carefully placing them into the satchels, and making sure to grab a pen, the fisherman made his way back out on-deck and approached Tangle. "Here you go." -- the wolf lowered it's head and Jaqk placed the strap over it. He had placed them in the satchel properly enough that even with Tangle's movement there shouldn't be any issues with them getting damaged or otherwise. Although he had memorized the map, after jumping up and onto the back of Tangle retrieved the map from his coat pocket. "You ready?" -- Jaqk asked the wolf, to which it nodded in response - Jaqk's eyes scanned the paper once more before folding it and placing it back in the pocket. "Streets are going to be pack - we'll have to be extra careful. North-east." -- he pointed in the direction that Tangle would then get a running start and leaping from the deck of the sailing post office. Jaqk had gripped tightly to Tangle's vines, as the wolf started to leap around and dodging around people. [I'm so sorry I suck.] |
