Stepping onto the docks at the place that was called Awestralia was Jericho Grayson. He had decided to come to this island when people from his hometown of Andthisiswhere Island back over in the West Blue wouldn't stop talking about the peaches from this place. He decided that he'd come to the place himself and see if they were telling the truth about the place being mainly nothing but peaches and peach trees.

Once he had stepped off of his boat he began to walk into the town to see if he could ask someone if it was true about the peaches. He adjusted his no-lens glasses and started to look around for people to ask his question to. While searching he noticed a marketplace that were offering things that looked like peaches, maybe he'd start there. Walking over to the person behind the counter he proceeded to ask them if this place had a large supply of peaches and peach trees around.

"Of course we do! This place wouldn't be Awestralia if you weren't in awe of something right?" The person behind the counter said to him. He nodded in agreement and thanked the person for their help, continuing on his way through the town. Well, he question was solved, now what? He didn't really think about what he'd do once his question was answered. He could...eat? Nope, he wasn't hungry. He could train...nope, he was still sore from yesterday's training. What was he gonna do!?

"Jeez, should've thought this through a little better." He thought to himself as he pulled out his sword and began to spin it through his fingers. "I can't just leave, I just got here." He said as he looked around for something-or someone-to interact with.

Flara bit down onto her peach, which was held up to her mouth with one hand. Her other hand was behind her back, she leaned backwards, pressing her hand and herself against a wall in a relaxed manner. A thick, crunching sound filled her ears from her bite. She followed it with a slurp as peach juice began to dribble from where she bit. She let out her free hand and raised it to her chin, wiping it from which excess juice slipped out. Her eyes did not move from the funny-looking boy in front of her however.

His outfit interested her most, was the ears truly necessary? But who was she to judge, with her long-collared leather jacket and all. The blocks of peaches in her mouth tasted dull, it was boring to eat the same fruit everyday. Or rather, living in an island that dedicated itself to just that one certain fruit.

Without any further chewing, she swallowed the chunks of peaches and suppressed a satisfied sigh. Guess she wasn't completely tired of peaches- yet. Now, back to the blonde boy. Newcomers, especially from overseas always interested the young woman. She always wondered what adventures they've been through, the dangers faced and all alike. But rarely does she see a boy dressed like this one.

She furrowed her eyebrows at his sword. So, he does fight, then he must have had quite some adventures. This boy did not feel as intimidating as the pirates and marines who may visit. Perhaps she could work up the courage to talk to him. But in case she may stutter with her speech, she decided to simply gesture first. She raised her peach and tilted it in a small wave.

Jericho was looking around for some excitement when out of the corner of his eye he spotted a girl waving her peach at him. Odd, did she want to talk to him or did she want to give him the peach? He fixed the ears on his hat and began to make his way over to her, spinning his sword more quickly as he did so. He wondered if she was from this place or not, and if she was nice or not, and...he was thinking of alot of things about her. The main thing was if she was fun or not. He'd hang with her if she wasn't and stuff but, fun peoole were always so much...well, fun.

He then began to examine what she was wearing. She had on a long collared jacket that seemed to be old. It had some tears in it, maybe they were recent? She had on some green pants and some boots, seemed pretty legit...except for the jacket, that was out of place in his mind. Still, he thought that people would say that he was the one dressing weirdly. The ears on his hat, the no-lens glasses he wore, the way he wore his socks, he was amazed peoole hadn't labeled him weird yet.

He made his way over to her and smiled, she was the first person he met on this island and he was gonna make a decent first impression on her. "Hey there." He started out, still spinning his sword quickly. "I'm Jericho Grayson, but people usually call me by my last name. What is your name?" He asked her as he put his sword away, followed by instinctively beginning to balance his whole body with one finger. "And do you happen to live here as well?" He added.

Now that the boy was closer, Flara indeed thought he was weird. Not only did his ears seem useless, his empty glasses were just the same. His spinning sword ripped her gaze away. She felt her muscles tense, perhaps it was best to not judge him by his outfit. He seemed skilled enough to be a swordsman, maybe he was. The way he handled that sword made Flara slightly anxious. Was he being careless or is he a professional? She placed one leg behind her, afraid his blade might get out of hand and scratch her. Oops! How rude of her, adults would scold her if she didn't look them in the eye while conversing.

She glanced up as he began to speak. Upon seeing him smile, she felt warm and welcomed. She could immediately tell he was of no danger to her or just about any other citizen on this island. She considered the thought of smiling back, but just like her fear of stuttering, she didn't want it to looked forced. Thus, her face remained bland.

Since the boy- no, Jericho asked her a question, Flara had no choice but to reply. She preferred Jericho rather than Grayson, she wondered why people would call him that instead. "H-hey Jericho," she swallowed, silently hating herself for the clumsy intro. "I'm Flara." She said with a force of confidence. She relaxed once more as he withdrew his sword. However his next stunt made her gasp in disbelief.

"Wh- How..." She coughed, dropping her peach by mistake. Despite the inhuman balancing, Jericho seemed to feel no strain. Flara proceeded to answer his next question, assuming he simply trains hard to do such a thing. "Yes, I live here, and I can see that you don't." She murmured, still flustered from what he did. "So what brings you here?" She quickly added, suddenly feeling an urge of excitement at meeting such a distinct boy. It was fairly uncommon to have a conversation with strangers from overseas, this was an amazing opportunity for her.

Jericho looked at Flara and smiled. Well, at least she was nice, or, at least seemed nice enough to greet him in such a nice manner. Maybe she wanted to give a good first impression too? If so, this conversation was going to be a pretty nice and straightforward conversation. Wondering why she didn't return the smile like a nice person, he thought that it was uncommin on the island or something. He hoped not, returning a smile showing acceptance of that person's gesture, well, in his own mind anyway.

"H-hey, Jericho," the girl said to him, seeming a little...flustered? No, not flustered...stuttery? "I'm Flara." She then added, sounding as thoug her jitters were now gone. Then he did something that he thought was just second-nature. He began to balance himself, this time on one finger. Though he did that, she was not shy in hiding here surprise at being able to do that.

"Wh- how...?" Flara asked in disbelief. While he knew that this was extraordinary, he didn't remember at the time to tell her that he was a Devil Fruit user. Now jumping in the air and switching to his other hand, he decided that he'd tell her that he was, in fact, not a normal boy. Then again, his choice for clothing could probably take care of that.

"Lovely name Flara," He said, starting out with a compliment. "The reason I can do this is because I ate the Senta Senta no Mi fruit, it basically made me a balancing man. I can transport weigh through my body to help me balance." He then said, telling her about his power. "And yeah, I'm not from here. Heck, I don't think that I look like I'm from anywhere. I just like to be different, y'know?" He asked her, jumping back to standing on his own two feet. "And why I'm here? One reason is to check out something, which I now know. Reason two is to explore, and as luck would have it, I had to come here."

Jericho's compliment echoed in Flara's head, while his smile brought tingles along her cheeks. She composed herself, straightening her back and blinking to clear her foggy vision. She forced herself to not dwell on one simple compliment as if it was the best few words in her life. She continued to listen to him as if nothing has happened.

A hardly visible smile creased Flara's lips as Jericho stated he liked to be different. She for one, understood what he meant, or at least hoped she did. Just like this island's fruit, it was boring to have similar-looking people walking around. Guess him and her had that one thing in common, the tendency to be unique. However, it took her a while to process his explanation of being a 'balancing man', as he called it. She mimicked what he said, quietly to herself, "Senta Senta no..."

Oh! Flara stopped herself from gasping again, this boy truly was out of ordinary. Not that his outfit mattered now, Jericho has eaten a Devil Fruit! "Um, oh, yes I see." She stammered, still trying to accept the fact that the boy in front of her was... a monster. She gritted her teeth, 'monster' was a harsh word, especially for someone as polite as him. Those who has eaten a Devil Fruit was said to have extraordinary abilities. Pirates that has eaten one are usually feared the most.

Come to think of it, she could tell Jericho was no pirate or a marine. Was he just a lone explorer? After all he stated his second reason here was to explore. She hoped what she was about to say next would not disappoint him too much. "Sorry to say, there are hardly any new things to find here." She muttered dully, her gaze traveled around the marketplace of... well, peaches. Flara bit the bottom of her lip, that would surely persuade Jericho to leave. The thing is, she didn't want him to depart so quickly, especially when they have just met.

Jericho watched as Flara began to blink alot and straighten her back. Was it something that he said? He then told her that he had eaten a devil fruit and she seemed to be surprised at that fact as well. Maybe he was the first person she met to use a devil fruit. That, or she was amazed with the power that he had.

"Sorry to say, there are hardly any new things to find here." Flara told him as she bit her lip which for some reason caused him to tilt his head. Why was she biting her lip!? It didn't make sense to him. Did she want him to leave or to stay? Either way, he couldn't leave just yet anyway, he had barely been here 10 minutes and there was an option of leaving. He had to explore this place, if not for a while then for just a little bit.

"Flara...can you tell me why you're biting your lip?" He asked her, unsure of how else to ask the question. He then thought back to what she had said, thay nothing new ever happened there, and he could agree if he wanted to. This place seemed like it might revolve around peaches, and that wasn't something he could get found of quickly. "And since I'm new on the island everything here should be new to me, except and few things and the peaches excluded." He told her as he walked a little closer to her."Could you show me around? Since you live here.and you're the first person I thought that you could take me on a tour. He asked her, extending his hand to help her up.

"Oh?" Flara was rather impressed Jericho could see such a small body movement. Either way, he acknowledged it with a question to it's means. Gah... what should I say. She thought to herself. With another moment of hesitation, she decided to be honest. "You've just arrived, I didn't want to bore you." She said, secretly glad that came out right, to her ears anyway.

She nodded in understanding at his next statement. It was true, if Jericho was new to this island then everything she found old should be new to him. She couldn't help but feel a sense of joy as he asked her to show him the island. A privilege truly, for a young woman with close to nothing. She clasped his hand lightly then got off the wall, "sure." She replied as she did so.

Standing upright, Flara felt exposed with her hands by her side and being back to back with thin air. She zipped up her leather jacket straight to the top of her collar to conceal half her face. Her eyelids drooped slightly in relief, she felt comfortable once again. "This is the peach marketplace." She spoke, louder so her voice could be heard from behind her collar. She turned to walk away then stopped after a few steps, waiting for Jericho to follow. She realized Awestralia still had little to offer besides peaches. Oh well, she would have to improvise.

"Don't worry about that. If I get bored I'll tell you, and then hopefully we can go on to doing something else." Jericho said to her as he helped her up. He then watched as she zipped up her jacket that than began to cover her face. He wonder where she could have gotten a jacket like that., it seemed like something that was just a random jacket that was among your other jackets.

Jericho stood beside Flara as she told him where the the marketplace was. He had already came through the marketplace, giving him a clue of what they did there prior to her telling him. "Hey, so is it true that peaches are the main thing on this island? Like, on this whole island there are an abundance of the fruit?" He asked her, wondering. He then turned his attention back towards the marketplace and smiled.

"That place is cool and all if you wanted to see peaches or something, are there any places a little, you know, more exciting?"He asked her as he pulled his sword out and began to slowly twirl it in his hand. "Maybe a place where people constantly fight or something like that?" He asked her as he began to think harder. "Maybe a beach? Or a food place?"

The phrase 'we' hit Flara hard, never has a person spoke of her and them together in one sentence. She breathed out deeply to calm herself down, this may be a short-term relationship once Jericho goes his separate way. Someone like him deserves more excitement rather than staying in an unchanging island such as this. But who knows, Flara didn't need to stay here forever either.

"That is true. Everywhere you turn, there are peaches." She replied, as if it was a one-sentence summary of her life. She looked back at Jericho and the marketplace that smelled of the usual tangy scent of peaches. Exciting... where people constantly fight? This area had none of that. "Hmm... how about the tavern." She suggested, without waiting for a reply she walked off to it's direction.

Speed and action was what the boy needed, seeing him take out his sword like that was a quick sign. She headed to an uphill slope with a dirt path upon it for people to walk on. A flat, wooden housing could be easily seen at the top. She paused then pointed at it, "made of peach-tree wood, serves high quality peach juice." She explained then added, "and maybe ale."

"That is true. Everywhere you turn, there are peaches." Flara told him as he looked around and saw nothing but things that involved peaches. This was...this was a place that would bore him quickly. He couldn't stay here, at least not permanently, without there being some type of action going on. He was one of those people who hated being bored, and that feeling was trying to creep up on him.

"Hmm... how about the tavern." Flara the said to him, walking off in the direction of said place. Jericho followed her, hoping that there would be a couple of drunken guys that he could punch in the face up there. She took him on a dirt path that eventually led to a wooden house of sorts, where sadly enough the sounds of chaos and destruction were not very high.

"Exactly how peaceful is it around here?" Jericho asked her, putting his sword up yet again. "And do strong guys usually occupy that tavern? 'Cause if not I see no reason to go in there other than to drink some juice." He added, a bored look on his face. "Well I'm gonna go check it out, are you coming with me?" He asked her.

"Mmm... pretty peaceful... not many strong guys..." Flara replied in one consequtive hum. She was still deep in thought, mostly wondering what job Jericho affliated himself with. Too nice to be a pirate, yet seemingly skilled enough to be a fighter. Guess she was too used to meeting ordinary citizens all the time. "Yep," she answered, walking ahead of him to reach for the tavern door.

She opened it gently, thanks to the soft wood it made no disturbing creaks. The tavern was fairly empty, just the bartender was there doing his job. Flara's gaze traveled around, looking for something that could be of interest. Her eyes paused at the left side of the tavern wall. A few papers and notes were scattered across, it was what some may call 'a bulletin board'. Because the island was so uneventful, most of the papers were blank and was there for someone to write on.

Worried Jericho would state about his boredom again, Flara quickly asked the question that was itching in her mind. "What's your job?" She asked out of nowhere, her eyes looking elsewhere to avoid eye contact. She was utterly ashamed of how boring her island was.

Jericho was disappointed that Flara said that the tavern was pretty peaceful, though he didn't want her to notice. He never thought that a tavern could be peaceful, but he happened to find the one that happened to be. Still, he wouldn't give up until he found something interesting on this peachy island. There had to be something of interest on this island, and one way or another he'd find out what it was.

"It's okay, not all taverns have to be chaotic I guess." Jericho told Flara as he crossed his arms and looked around. The place was a ghost bar, not alot seemed to happen here, and out of the corner of his eye he saw what appeared to be a bulletin board with nothing on it. That was another indicator that this place was peaceful, there was just papers and stuff on the board, nothing of real importance.

Looking over at Flara as she asked him what job he had, he began to chuckle and tapped her shoulder. It was kind of rude to not look at someone speak, especially if you asked them a question. "Well, I'm actually gonna be a bounty hunter. I've always wanted to be one, well, actually it was either a bounty hunter or a marine. The only reason I picked being a bounty hunter was because people said my 'personality' wasn't fit for the marines so, here I am, a bounty hunter of sorts."

Flara turned to face Jericho again, looking at him expectantly. Guess looking away wasn't a nice thing to do, manners! She nodded once he finished. She had to agree, marines usually are disciplined and accustomed to taking orders from the higher ranked. Flara couldn't picture Jericho with hand over head, exclaiming 'yes sir'! That would cover up what she liked most about him, his uniqueness.

"A bounty hunter?" She murmured to herself. Why of course, what else could he be. Still, it was just as dangerous as being a pirate, to her anyway. Bounty hunters would have to fight the strongest of men, some of which who aren't even men at all. Well, Jericho did eat a Devil Fruit, that changes the odds. "Ah right, something chaotic." She said, walking to the bulletin board.

There was only one poster with something on it. She squatted down to read it, a few moments later she ended up sighing as if to give up. There was an event, but with no surprise it was peach-related. "Grow the biggest peach!" She announced jokingly, slumping backwards onto the tavern floor in defeat. She zipped down her leather jacket, feeling comforted with her back leaning against the floor.

"I personally wanted to be a pirate. To travel across the sea freely." She said, hardly caring about what she meant. Though most pirates were seen as blood-thirsty and greedy men, they had more adventures than a regular citizen could ever dream of. "Do you not think the same?"

Jericho watched Flara walk over to the bulletin board and look at the one thingnup there that could have been an event. The poster was his only hope of finding something to do on the peach-infested island, so he was downright upset when it turned out to be a freakin' peach growing contest. Who would ever what to do that!?

"I personally wanted to be a pirate. To travel across the sea freely." Flara told him, causing a sigh to escape his lips. She said she wanted to be a pirate, it was understandable, everyone wants to be something...but a pirate? He couldn't blame her, she had a good reason to want to be a pirate, but he ignored it.

"I don't like pirates." He said bluntly, crossing his arms and staring at Flara. "Never did, never will. I was raised by a marine and a bounty hunter, both of whom taught me to resent pirates, and over the years I didn't need their teachings to help me hate them." He told her as he sat down on one of the many available bar stools and scratched his head. Just the topic of pirates put him in a bad mood, always had ever since he was just a little guy. "Besides, if you wanted to travel and go on adventures, you'd do it with some friends or people you care about."
