Krauss smiled and waved at the sailors as he stepped off the cargo ship and on the docks, "See ya later guys and thanks for the ride! Oh and I hope your sister gets better Henry!" He steady marched into town with a smile on his face as he slipped the small pouch of beli from his pockets into his large bag he carried, "That was way to easy." After leaving the island in which Krauss spend most if not all of his life, he didn't know where to start. All he knew is that he had to make it to the grand line to find out who 'K.L' And 'M.L' was. Now why was Krauss in the North blue, well this were the cargo ship first stopped so he got off here in hopes to begin his long journey to the grand line. The island was bustling with business as ships came and go with various items that were being offloaded and loaded. Clearly a good economy was flowing here and it was perfect for Krauss because he saw lots of valuables he could take using his friendly allurement that often radiated from the conversations he normally has with others, after all getting to journey wasnt gonna be cheap. He is by no means a swindler but he is a proud thief and he uses the trust he builds up with someone and uses that to his advantage, swiping the targeted valuables behind their backs without them noticing. These sort of places breed thieves and he might just might meet another companion or even maybe a crew that he can laugh with all the way to grand line with. |

After days at sea battling the currents and avoiding any pirate crews that may have unfortunately bumped into him, young William Avery had finally made his way to the docks of Hitsuji Archipelago from his hometown of Aokuchi Island. Making his way off of his little ship to walk around the docks he saw that the island, well this part anyway, was alive with business...and where there were business, there were bound to be some money around. "Lets see...where to start?" He asked himself as he looked around to see which place would be the easiest to swindle. While it may have sounded wrong for him to consider stealing from the hard-working people, he was kind of aspiring to be a pirate after all. Ever since he left Aokuchi Island he thought about his choice over and over again until he finally decided that it was the right one. As he walked through the crowds, looking for potential saps not being wise with their belongings, he had saw a particular place that had caught his attention because of how easy the score would be. There was an old shopkeeper, sleeping on the job of all things! It wouldn't be right...but he wouldn't be a true pirate if he didn't do it, right? "I'd love to rob the poor guy blind...but I think I'll leave him be. He may need that cash to prepare for some time in the future." He told himself as he continued looking around for different spots for some easy money. As he made his way back toward the docks he noticed someone just leave one of the ships that harbored there not too long ago. Though the guy may be some simple stranger he decided to keep his eye on him, just in case when he did finally choose who he'd rob the guy wouldn't open his mouth and spill the beans on him. Being a thief meant you had to watch everyone and everything, and this new guy was the newest edition. Edited by Shark Bait, Jan 9 2014, 08:51 AM.

Krauss stopped for a second to take the scenery in. He may be a pirate that exploits the bonds made from people for his own personal gain, but that doesn't mean he isn't a chill and cool guy. Krauss closed his eyes and took a big whiff of the atmosphere saturated with salt from the ocean. The sound of the waves crashing and swaying against the docks seemed to calm him and he smiled a smile of calmness, although it should scare him more than anything, with him being a devil fruit user and all. When he opened his eyes, he was brought back to the busy docks again. Just beyond the docks was a monotonous town. The town wasn't complete dead but compared to the busy docks it was clear most of the money was coming from the docks. As Krauss looked around for a good hit, he thought to himself "The docks are too open and busy, it wouldn't be wise to try rob anyone out here. As soon as I make an attempt someone will see me." The old man whom Krauss learned almost everything from always said, 'work smart, not hard'. "It would be wiser to follow a piece of valuable or someone of value to into the city and hit 'em there" he told himself. As he looked around he saw a trader with a seemly large purse filled with beli. He also noticed young guy with blond hair also on the docks. Krauss might have been a charismatic amiable guy that could hold a conversation but he could only guess he was about 17 or 18 or so. This young lad was a slim but muscular built and was a little bit shorter than Krauss. Clearly he was an adventurer of some sort and was a foreigner to the island based on how he was dressed. Hmmm.... I Wonder he thought as he took noticed of him. Krauss tighten his grip on his bag with excitement as he started to follow the trader. Krauss was not good with tailing anyone due to his size and his big battle-axe strapped to his back wasn't making it any easier but he used the crowd for cover to deviate any attention to himself. The trader continued along the docks passing the blond hair guy and around the corner onto the street. As Krauss followed the trader he simply turned to the blond hair stranger and smirked as if he knew they had something in common. OCC

William was taking in the scenery when he saw a slightly taller male with an axe on his back pass him by. Before that though, he noticed a trader who seemingly had a big bag on his person, and it had to have been full of cash. "That guy's now on my radar." He told himself as he smiled in anticipation of being able to pickpocket someone. Then, as he looked toward the trader, he noticed the ax-man again, this time he smirked at him. It took William a while to process, but once he did he realized it could only mean one thing... "So, looks like a have a challenge?" He said aloud as he began to laugh. "This is perfect! Some excitement on this island is just what I needed!" He said as he began to stalk both the ax-man and his soon to be victim. As he followed them he guessed that Mr.Smirk Guy was a thief as well, meaning that this was going to be a fun day for sure. But back to the objective in hand, how was he going to slip past him and get the money from the trader? It didn't take him too long to try to figure it out, after all, he was a pro when it came to thieving. "Hey, sir!" He called out to the trader as he ran towards him, passing his thief buddy as he did so. The trader turned around, surprised that someone was talking to him at the moment. Catching his breath, William then began to think up an elaborate story to try to get the trader's guard down. "Sir, I'm so glad I caught up to you. You see, before you began to walk this path someone dropped something that seemed to be of some value and I was hoping to know if it belonged to you." He told the man as he pulled out one of his own trusty daggers. "Sorry sir, but that dagger does not belong to me." The trader said, shaking his head to confirm it. "Ah, well I shall find who it belongs to but tell me this, you seem to be a merchant of some sort...maybe a trader even?" He said as he held back a smile. This is gonna be easy... As Krauss turned the corner still trailing the trader, he left the blond hair guy out of his line of vision. Then he heard a voice, he guess that is from blond guy, screamed aloud "So, looks like a have a challenge?" Krauss could only laugh as he said to himself "Well if its a challenge he wants, who am I to deny him his request." As Krauss continue to stalk his prey he waited for an opportune time to make his move. As he was about to implement his plan, he heard the same voice call out "Hey sir!" Krauss knew it was the blond haired guy but he turned his head to find out why he called out to him. As Krauss began to turn his head, he saw the blond haired guy whized pass him and approched the trader. Krauss let out a laugh as he thought to himself "This guy is seriously trying to take my target." Krauss saw him take out a dagger and try to return it to the trader but the trader did not take it and Krauss could probably guess why. "He probably tried the you-drop-this tatic, haha too thats to easy kid." Krauss confidently approched the trader who was with the blond haired guy and attempted to put the trader back under his spell as he put on his charamastic amiable smile and went to work. "Sir am so glad to have caught up with you. I work on a cargo ship and I have a special package for you but I think it would be better to discuss it at a more private location." Krauss whispered into his ear "I have some priceless gems I want to sell at your price." The trader's expression lit up and Krauss swears that he could see his eyes turned into beli for a second. "Well ok, follow me to my place no one should bother us there." Yes Krauss lied, but hey .... he's a pirate, what else do you expect. With only one thing on his mind the trader left in a hurry. Krauss told the blond haired guy, "Thats how you do it" as he smiled and trailed behind the trader Edited by Zavy-Sama, Jan 9 2014, 08:58 AM.

William believed that he had everything planned out when the ax-man suddenly one-upped him with a better idea. Jeez this guy was serious, time to kick it up a notch then. "Thats how you do it." Was what Mr.Slick Thief Guy said to him as he began to leave with the target. "Something tells me I just might have to end it here." He said as he cracked his knuckles and pulled out his twin daggers. His plan was very simple really...if he had any idea of what he wanted the plan to be about. He had pulled the daggers out of nowhere out of pure instinct, and he was gonna follow those instincts because they usually helped him out in some way. William looked down at his daggers and smiled. These were very valuable to him, and they had gotten him out of some pretty tight jams before, and they might just do it again here. Lets see, that bag might be full of some beli that I want, and I'm no ordinary thief. I wonder how this'll play out he thought to himself as he began to walk up behind the trader and his competition. "Excuse me gentleman, but I couldn't help but overhear that you two were going somewhere, mind if I join?" He asked as he hid his daggers behind his back. "Sorry sir, but me and this gentleman here were about to discuss private matters, so if you could please not tag along?" The trader asked as he and the ax-man continued their walk towards some unknown destination. As they continued to walk a smile appeared on William's face as he began to twirl his daggers in his fingers. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, he sprinted towards the trader as if he was preparing to tackle him or something. "Here we go, the grand finale!" He said as he took his two daggers(sharp daggers I tell you) and slashed the straps off of the bag. As the bag slowly made its way to the floor William quickly scooped it up and immediately began to run away with it. "You two have fun!" He said, still running of course. "You two have fun!" Krauss smiled as he was astonished because he could not believe what he had just witness. The blond haired guy acutally stole the whole bag. Krauss could only laugh as he thought that this kid was serious and was taken back at his boldness. "Ha so you are that kinda guy huh? Maybe this kid have what am looking for." As amazed as Krauss was, he still was in a 'competition' and he didn't want to let this guy win. However it was quite unlikely that Krauss would be able to keep this up and his large bag and 10lb battle axe on his back weighing him down could attest to that. So Krauss did the only thing he could he let him go because he was not going to leave his bag and his weapon with a complete stranger. Besides he wasn't a full blown thief like this guy, Krauss could tell by his movements and his quick thinking that he was the real deal. Krauss didn't really steal by profession, it was more like a bad habit that he couldn't help however he would only steal if he had to like now when he need money or when he was bored. As Krauss watched the blond haired guy sprint down the street the trader turned to him and he frantically begged him to get it back. "Sorry dude, that's business. Trust me I want that bag more than all two of you but I can't chase no one with this bag and axe on me." Krauss walked off smirking as he looked like he found something he has been looking for. Krauss may have been new to the island but he could have tell that he could slip in between the buildings to get ahead of him. Krauss turned one corner then he turned another and soon he found himself on a street ahead of the blond haired guy. "Good game, I concede, why don't we have a little chat in the bar here" Krauss shouted as he saw the blond hair guy coming his way. |

William was frantically laughing, in his mind of course. Here he was, with the bag that was supposedly full of beli, in his hands. His hands! That guy may or may not have been a thief, but he had just witnessed the true skill of William Avery! In his mind he had won the battle between him and Mr.May-or-May-not be a thief, and now he had to het somewhere where he could check the bag to see how much it held inside of it. Maybe he could stop, maybe he could check how much money was in the bag, but what if ax-guy caught up to him? As he turned the corner of one of the buildings he was sure that he had gotten away from his pursuer, but once he stared ahead he was caught off guard by the sight that he saw. He saw the ax-man, right down the street, basically in front of him. "What the?" He said as he began to slow down wondering if he should keep going or if he should turn around and go in a different direction. As he thought he could've swore he heard the guy tell him something, though it took a minute to process what is was. "Good game, I concede, why don't we have a little chat in the bar here" was what it was, he was sure of it. But then, why was he inviting him to chat...unless he was admitting defeat! Yes...well, it could be that or the guy really wanted to chat to him about something, it just better not be about sharing the loot with him! "Sure thing, I'm all for it!" William said as he slowed down in front of the guy, still being cautious and whatnot. Holding onto the bag like his life depended on it, he slowly walked into the bar the man requested. Hopefully a chat was all they'd be doing in that bar, though he had to admit, that ax-guy was a pretty fun guy to compete with. |

"Relax man, I ain' gonna try steal from ya!" Krauss said as he wrapped his arms around the shoulders of the blond haired guy, "I don't rob other thieves, at least not by myself. It's sorta like breaking the bro code." Krauss could not help but let out a hearty laugh as smiled and entered the bar with the blond guy. The bar was half filled with with laughs protruding from men and sailors. It was still around midday so the other sailors must still be working on docks. The bar was saturated the smell of alcohol and mixed with the laughter it could perk any pirate up, at least that's what he though. Krauss rested his bag on the floor and his axe next to hm as he sat to the counter and ordered two beers. "My name is Krauss Lawston but you can call me Crust .....or Krauss .....or whatever. The call my Crust because for some strange reason, people say my name sounds close it .... go figure. Anyway just to clear the air a bit, I ain' really a thieve. I sorta do it outta habit when I'm bored or need some money." Krauss looked up at the bartender as he rest two pints of beer in front of him and with one swoop, Krauss picked up the glass and gulped half of it down. Anyway I convinced the captain of the cargo ship I came here on to give me a ride to their next destination and well, here I am. My first order of business is to find some money for my journey to the Grand line" Krauss said as he clenched his dog tag close to him getting sentimental. "I'm also I'm lookin' for some companions for that very same reason. No I don't need any more companions, what I need is some nakama." Krauss quickly regain his composure and began to once again smile, "Well enough of my endless prattle, who's you and what brings you here?" Krauss asked as he took another swig. William walked into the bar with the ax-guy and, even with the guy telling him he wouldn't steal the loot, held onto the bag tightly. A thief could never be too sure of these things, especially when in a new place such as this Island. "I don't rob other thieves, at least not by myself. It's sorta like breaking the bro code." the a-man said as he began to laugh, which in turn made William laugh as well. This guy may just be some fun after all, and he seemed like a pretty nice guy. As the two walked into the bar they were greeted by the laughs and conversations of the various people in the bar. Some seemed like they were sailors who were relaxing, with the other few working on the docks still. The bar reeked of alcohol, something William had told himself that he would keep a distance from, along with a sense of happiness among the others that made him ignore the foul smell. As the ax-man sat down at the counter he followed suit, sitting at the counter as well, though he ordered nothing to drink. "My name is Krauss Lawston but you can call me Crust .....or Krauss .....or whatever. The call my Crust because for some strange reason, people say my name sounds close it .... go figure... The guy said to him as a little introduction about himself. As the guy kept going on about himself William began to see him as someone who was not a thief, but just so happened to have stealing as a hobby, making him smile. "So you want to go to the grand Line huh? I've always wanted to go there." He told Krauss as he began to think about what brought him to the island. "Well, I'm William Avery, 16-year-old thief and a future pirate. I was just sailing in the other islands in the North Blue and this one was the next one for me to visit. I was simply looking for a pirate crew and stuff, and there weren't any on the few previous islands so I thought I might run into a crew here." He told him as he began to grin. ooc

"Haha so this is where the winds of fate has taken us-" Krauss said as he grinned ear to ear. Krauss cannot help but reminiscence of his misadventures in the orphanage causing havoc. "-it looks like great minds think alike huh or maybe this is how our story is supposed to unfold?" Krauss took another swig of his drink and then he turn to William and began to ask, "So why don't we team up and take the Grand line by storm? We are both starting out as pirates and have dreams in the Grand Line. With our abilities as thieves, it will be like taking money from a trader! Speaking of which..." You would swear think that they practice this whole scenario as the trader, almost on cue, charged into the bar with two bounty hunters, that were armed with swords and daggers, at his sides and shouted, "That's them right there! They are the thieves that took my money! Get them!" As He pointed to the bag that William was holding. The whole bar fell silent as all focus was on Krauss and William, waiting to see what they would do next. The sailors and men did not get up or say anything, they just simply sat down and drink their drinks as they watched the entertainment unfold. Briefly ignoring the trader Krauss said to William "Huh the trader thought we was working together, well anyone would think that if they was watching us. Listen William I have a plan that involves getting money and this annoying trader, if you know what I mean and I can't do it without your help. So if you take out the left bounty hunter while I take out the right, I assume that you accepted my offer to team up. I don't know if its too soon but I think we are nakama from this point on and I always trust my nakama with my life" Without waiting for a verbal Krauss strapped his bag onto his back, then grabbed his axe only put it on the table in front of bounty hunters. He then dashed towards the bounty hunter on the right ... Technique Used 'Guahh' the bounty hunter could not move as he was overcome with pain. Krauss then grabbed him as he spun around and threw him into the wall ... 'Thump!' As the bounty hunter fell you could see the crack in the wall from where he landed. Krauss could only hope that William took out the other bounty hunter because if he didn't, well he was going to be in alot of pain. OOC

William was smiling as Krauss talked, thinking to himself how cool it would be to hang with the guy. Then he suggested that the two of them become partners, something that he didn't even have to think about. These two seemed like they would make a great thieving pair, even though he was the one who was a thief for a living. Now that he began to think about it, whatever happened to that guy he stole the bag from? Surely he would really want his bag back, unless he was scared to come get it or something. Then, as if the scene had been rehearsed, the trader entered the bar with what appeared to be two bounty hunters, not like he was gonna earn any beli for their heads. "That's them right there! They are the thieves that took my money! Get them!" The trader said as he ordered the two bounty hunters to take care of him and Krauss. William simply yawned as he cracked his knuckles and stood up after listening to Krauss say that he had a plan. It didn't really matter to William, as long as this trader got what was coming to him then he'd be fine with whatever plan came up. Krauss rushed after the guy on the right, leaving the guy on the left to William. While not being one to be much of a hand-to-hand combat guy, his daggers were all he needed to win this one. As the guy on the left looked over at Krauss and prepared to attack him William quickly pulled out his daggers and threw them at the guy's chest, causing him to groan in pain and fall back against the bar's walls. After seeing Krauss take care of his guy William slowly went over and pulled his daggers out of the guy's chest and wiped them clean. Looking over at the trader with muderous intent William twirled his daggers in his fingers and laughed, causing everyone in the bar to eventually laugh along with him. "Well then, looks like the bag stays with me and my partner...now, what to do with you?" Techniques Used

Krauss could only hear a groan of pain, as he knew someone had just gotten hit. Seeing as he wasn't attacked yet he guessed William took out the other bounty hunter. Krauss grinned as he saw the William took out his dagger that was stemming out of the bounty hunter chest. "Well then, looks like the bag stays with me and my partner...now, what to do with you?" Krauss could only grin ear as he heard the word he wanted to hear....'Partner'. As Krauss went to pick up his battle-axe from the table, he threw it over his shoulder as the trader shouted, "You guys don't know who you're messing with! I'm the head trader on this fucking island and if I go missing, there will be a lot of people after your head!" The trader smirked as if he had his victory and stood tall as if he was waiting for an apology. As Krauss slowly approached the trader fearlessly smiling, the trader's smirk gradually fade with each step and began to shake as he start to lose his composure, "Oh I don't know if you know this Mr. trader but I love challenges so you don't scare me or my partner one bit. So please tell your people that the Game.... Is ....On" Krauss said as he got in his face and enunciated every last word of the last three words. Krauss gave a swift punch to the trader, just strong enough to knock him out and he threw him over his free shoulder. He then turned to William and then said to him loud enough only them two could hear,"Come on William, we are gonna see how valuable this guy truly is. I need you to find an empty, unsuspicious place to hide out while we try to get some money from this guy. You lead I'll follow" OOC

"You guys don't know who you're messing with! I'm the head trader on this fucking island and if I go missing, there will be a lot of people after your head!" The trader said as he attempted to intimidate the two of them. William simply looked at him and smiled, a pirate's worth was shown in their bounty, right? Then Krauss went up to the trader's face and William could instantly see the fear that was pouring from the guy's face. Then, as quickly as Krauss began to talk, he then knocked the trader out and put him on top of his shoulder. "Come on William, we are gonna see how valuable this guy truly is. I need you to find an empty, unsuspicious place to hide out while we try to get some money from this guy. You lead I'll follow" Krauss said to him as he made way for William to begin walking out of the doors. Before they left though, William had felt a sensation to do something exciting before they departed from the bar. "Listen up boys and gals! This guy right here is our hostage so whoever and whatever authority figure comes into this place, you can tell them...you can tell them he's in safe hands." He told the people in the bar before he waved goodbye as he left in search of a nice hideout. As he left the bar he began to scout the place out for any suitable buildings that could keep them off the streets until they came up with a different plan. After searching for a short time he found an abandoned building that seemed to be empty. Leading Krauss and the still unconscious trader inside of it, they made their way to one of the higher floors and decided that they should be fine there. "Alright, we should be okay here. So, I wonder how much beli we could possibly get for him? Hope he wasn't being a fibber back there." William said as he cautiously peeked out of one of the nearby windows. |

Between carrying a heavy battle-axe, a large bag and a fully grown man up stairs, there was only so much a guy could take. As Krauss entered the room, he put the trader down in a nearby chair in the room. He then fell to the floor on one side of the room, dropping his battle-axe and his bag all over the other room, gasping for air and was severally out of breath. "Just ....give......me......a.....moment.......to..............catchmybreath" Krauss then close his eyes to concentrate and started to take deep breaths to get his breathing under control. "Woo Haha.... reminds me of training........Carrying a heavy battle-axe, a large bag and a large trader like him at the same damn time ..... there's only so much a guy could take. I need to build my stamina up, I almost died." Krauss sit up as he stared at the unconscious man, still breathing hard but more controlled. "In my bag there should be two bottle of water.......pass me one and you can have the other........You might want to use some of the water to wake the trader up, or you can try slapping him a bit." Krauss let out a weak laugh as he propped up his body against the only exit and entrance to the room, he raised his hand to catch the water. "Oh looks like the trader is coming to......" |
