Seems that Ryan was still missing some information since these guys both were hinting at that. Leader didn't want him to pick a fight and the old geezer seemed very cocky about his protection. The old man was pissing him off more and more as the conversation went along. Lifting his right foot up and smacking it into the ground so hard the stones around him cracked, Ryan was gritting his teeth. Turning to the old geezer his gaze was blazing hot: "Look here you faux-pass piece of shit... This is a suit worth more money than your entire collective wardrobe. It's the latest design and is custom tailored for me personally. Just so happens I got nothing else to change into and this filthy town would make me look like some old bastard past his prime, desperately clinging to his protection from hot shot you won't even name drop... Oh yeah, really tempting offer to change clothes right there, you senile bum." Ryan retorted to the man's taunt, being visually distraught by his remark on the way he dressed.

Leander's joke on the subject of his heart came off more like a poke at his lines. Forget it, apparently a guy can't say stuff like that without being teased. But then the guy went ahead and told him what he needed to hear to calm down a bit. As naive as the smoke man was, even more so than Ryan sometimes, he did have a point. If some power player was running this show then picking a political fight with this guy was the last thing he wanted to do. "Seems like my hands are tied then... But stop counting on me sticking around, I told you I have my own business to attend to! Gah, This buddy-buddy attitude of yours man..." Ryan scoffed as he began walking away from the old geezer. As Leander finished up his business and said they were finally leaving this place, Ryan let out a sigh of relief. "Fucking finally, I'm about to start punching people out of frustration..." Ryan spoke as the old geezer let out an evil glare at him. Oh for fuck's sake, how childish could he get... Ryan was through with this place. If the old man was lying then he'd be sure to have his head below the sole of his shoes first. And then remodel his mouth till he can't say a bad word about him any more.

As the two temporary companions were leaving however it seemed like one of the dogs from before had mustered up the courage to actually return and try again. Running straight at Ryan again, with a bloodthirsty look and foam coming from it's mouth. Ryan simply sighed, raising his right hand and taking a single step forward as soon as the dog made it's jumping assault. However instead of barks or bites, there was a soft whine all of a sudden. Tossing the dog backwards towards the old geezer, it's corpse landed right in front of the man's feet, after a few rolls however. Bleeding from its neck the dog was whining before it passed out and died in a puddle of it's own blood. As Ryan turned and tossed the dog it became obvious what he had done. Using his middle finger to pierce the dogs neck and toss it, he was holding it up in front of McGilly, his hand and sleeve covered in blood. "Keep your infested muts away from me..." He spoke as he flipped the bird to the old man and continued walking with Leander, back to their ship.

Using a handkerchief to wipe the blood, he was disgusted by the whole thing, at least somewhat. "I'm gonna need a rabies shot once we get back to the ship... Fucking dogs... Ugh..." Ryan spoke as he used the cloth to clean his hand somewhat properly. Tossing it away after most of the blood was off his hand he sighed again. At least they were finally leaving the place. As they were walking to the docks, with their ship already in a straight line ahead, Ryan figured McGilly was far enough to not hear them any more. "So before I ask... I'm gonna let you know those 50 men won't be travelling with us for long. Leave them to me as soon as we got the travel cost compensation... As for the bigger issue here, who's this power player that's stopping us from making a riot in this place? Not like I wanna create a political incident if it's some noble who keeps this place around for his or her amusement..." Ryan thought out loud, putting his hands back in his pockets as they approached the ship. Seems like McGilly's men were already heading towards the docks as well.

Coming out of a different street, the men were slowly walking towards the ship, carrying some sort of bag with a beli symbol on it. "... I guess that old geezer is good for something after all." the conman remarked as he saw them approaching in the distance. "So I guess the next step is an assault on this Whitehair's crew? I figure we can do that, yeah. Just so you know though, I think you've been a bit of an idiot in this affair. 100% certain that we'll be back here after we beat up some poor guys because that old geezer is more slippery than the snake oil he's selling itself." the marine captain continued as the two men arrived at Leander's mastodon of a ship. It really was a sight to behold though Ryan still wasn't fully used to marine battleship look of it.

Leander merely shook his head as he watched Ryan slaughter the rabid dog on their way much to the flabbergast of Jack. It was such a childish act of anger that Leander found it hard to hold back the smile, muffling his mouth with his hand so that the small noise of laughter wouldn't be too noticeable nor the smile he hid beneath. Ryan really needed to learn to relax, that pent up aggression was going to do so much damage to his health in the long run and it was obvious from all that Leander knew of him and could guess at that the man had serious issues going on at the moment leading to a psychological change. However he didn't dare mention it to him at the moment as he had no desire to start a fight which such a comment would lead to for sure. Instead he settled for simply being amused in Ryan's antics. Of course he could understand Ryan's anger toward Jack, the both of them had been actively trying to piss each other off.

Leander smiled knowingly as he appraised the items that had been delivered to his ship although it seemed not all of it had come yet. The men themselves Leander agreed with Ryan wouldn't be staying on the ship for long. He had asked for them merely as a formality to keep up appearances since Jack had offered them to him, so he accepted. No one would complain when they disappeared, the grandline was dangerous after all for cannon fodder. As he turned to face Ryan, arms crossed causally over his chest while leaning up against a wooden barrel his expression was blatantly smug. "Yeah I know. I agree that they need to be taken care of. This feel's suspicious as all hell and I don't trust them one bit to not try and screw us over somehow. Me, you, Yuffie and my own men are enough. Actually just me alone would be enough for a show of force." As he was speaking it was notable that he had kept his voice fairly low so as not to be heard yet clear enough that Ryan could hear him well.

With a sigh Leander walked further onto the ship speaking at a normal volume once again. "As for that crew of rookies. Who cares about them? They're just criminals. Its how these things work and I rather a few 'innocent' pirates be knocked off the food chain than risk bringing down the wrath of an admiral if this island turned out to be some weird pet to a celestial dragon. Formalities and subterfuge are often a huge factor in determining the outcome of events when dealing with people of power. It should be obvious however I don't know who Jack McGilly was talking about or even if what he said was at all valid although it does explain why a pirate island would be allowed to exist like this. Its always a good idea to know your opponent however before challenging them. So I don't want to take a risk and you don't want to get dragged into anything like that either."

As they had been talking the men had finally finished loading and were pulling the ropes from the docks that held the ship in place. "Alright lets get going." Looking toward Ryan he nodded confirming that they would start the wholesale slaughter soon. Luckily most of the men McGilly had given them were on the top decks lounging around, playing cards, or chit chatting. At least they wouldn't have the hunt through the ship to find most of them. Although now that he thought about it his remaining crew would probably be very shocked to find him and Ryan slaughtering the new arrivals. He'd probably explain it later to them he considered, for now they didn't need to know.

As they sailed off one old mean bastard swore silently to himself, "I'll get those two damn meddling kids. Time to prepare for war."

Amusing it seemed, his anger and frustration. Not like he could explain it to him but for now Ryan had to endure the laughter of this man. Given it was more of a snicker than anything but Ryan himself was not amused through the whole endeavour. The dog deserved death for it probably killed before anyway. The conman had merely administered proper justice. Wow, that line of thought made him sound like a real asshole marine. The kind he hated, those absolute justice type of people. Was this how they saw the world? Everyone who was not right as they were had to go? A bit of an extreme view if anything and Ryan shook his head at the thought of it. He wasn't like them, he considered himself able to tell the difference between black, white and shades of it all in between. Seems like he wasn't quite over the shock of his father still being out in the open like this, how would he with barely any time to actually get over it? That and the whereabouts of his crew were bugging him still. What were they up to, were they safe?

No use thinking about it right now. He needed to focus properly and not blow his identity in front of this man. For as much as they had a trust relationship, Ryan figured that if Smoky found out he was a marine captain, there'd be a lot less buddy situations between them. As the two conversed about the progression of Leander's business, Ryan followed him and decided to take his words to memory. Seems like even Leander didn't know who the big shot behind this place was but something else he said caught Ryan a bit off guard. The fact that he didn't want to drag him into this if it was going to turn out in a political incident. "Tsk... You know, for a guy named Heartless, you show a surprising amount of care sometimes. Should be careful that people don't find out what a softie you are. Wouldn't want that Bounty Poster to change to Samaritan Leander Hastings or something now right? Hehehehahaha..." Ryan laughed as he shook his head. Watching the men load up some small supplies, it seemed they were capable enough to follow a shopping list. Good, it seems they weren't complete jackasses.

"Normally I'd look into whoever runs this place but right now I don't think I even have enough contacts to find that out. So sure... One pirate crew less or more wandering this sea, you're right about that part. I just figure we should come back prepared. Let's talk about those details later though..." the blond conman spoke as the ship began sailing off. With the ship in full seas, the island was still in sight. As Leander mentioned to get going, Ryan stopped him with his hand. "You go plot our course and make sure we end up in the right place. I'll deal with those men. Don't worry, I won't make a mess. But I will send that council on Rowe a message with this..." The marine captain explained as his smile grew a bit quite like his usual one. As the ship had lost sight of the island after another 20 minutes of sailing, it was time to execute his plan. "Gentlemen! You are all McGilly's men right?" he spoke to the people hanging around the deck. Most of them nodded as they stopped whatever little conversations they were having in their group.

"Excellent..." he said with a bit of a pleased tone. A quick count gave him 60 men on board. Ten men of Leander's. "Everyone on Leander's permanent crew, there's a special drink prepared for you guys inside so scram and enjoy my kindness for today. I want to get to know some of our newer men a bit more personally!" Ryan spoke with a somewhat friendly tone though kept a bit of threat to it to make them move. And as expected the 15 men that were part of it all moved past Leander inside. Smoky could identify if there was a liar in that group. Clapping his hands together, Ryan smiled as the group gathered around him. "Now then, let's get acquainted gentlemen? You there with the yellow bandanna, step forward and tell me your name!" the conman exclaimed in a happy tone as the man in question was a bit surprised but stepped forward.

"Don't be shy, come on over, tell me about yourself." the blond marine captain added as he wrapped his arm around the man's shoulder and walked with him a bit across the deck. The group followed them.

"Well, my name is Hector, I'm 30 years old and I've been a pirate ever since I can remember. My dad was a pirate and he brought home treasure. I decided I wanted to be pirate because my dad had riches and bit-" the man began explaining his life story but quickly stopped talking when he suddenly realised he was headed for the ocean. Landing in it with a big splash, Ryan had walked the man the plank. This was probably the most cliché pirate thing ever but it was so adorably amusing. "Swim for your life Hector!" Ryan shouted in a cheerful tone as suddenly a bunch of sharks began circling the man as he resurfaced.

Being rather pleased with himself in this situation, the 49 men left were staring at him in a shocked fashion. "Here's the deal gentlemen. You're all completely useless to me. Dead weight sums it up perfectly. So... You either walk the plank on your own Ooooooooor... I kill you and toss you out. So you can either die now or take your chances and swim back to the island. Maybe... So... Any takers?" Ryan asked with a particularly arrogant and vicious smile on his face. One of the men began panicking and started running to the other side of the ship but before any of them would even blink, Ryan had already caught up to the guy and relieved him of his neck pains. Tossing the body across the railing, he loosened up his wrists. "Ah, yes... Do run from me please. I love a good hunt..." he spoke in a teasing tone with the same lovely smiling expression as always. Shortly after the men began jumping into the ocean themselves as Ryan let out a short laugh.

"Oh boy, isn't that funny... I just love watching those losers shit their pants like that. Made my day. Alright, did you need me for anything else, Leander?" Ryan spoke as he put hs hands in his pockets and was about to make his retreat. His smile faded a bit to a more normal level as he addressed his smoky companion but at this point he was about ready to relax for the rest of their trip. Maybe find some kind of change of clothes though that didn't seem likely to happen. Oh well. All's well for now and that's all that mattered.

Leander barked out laughing loudly, holding his sides as he bent over from pure joy of laughing. The temptation of ignoring Ryan's suggestion to view what the man was up to had been too great and he had stayed behind to watch instead of listening. He was the captain on this ship anyway, he gave orders to people, not the other way around. "Oh sweet baby Buddha. You know Ryan I think we're going to have a lot of fun on this trip." The whole act that Ryan had put forth followed by tossing the man into the ocean before the others joined him afraid of being forced from the ship like their mate had been. It seemed for them the sharks were a preferable choice which brought him back memories of that one crazy bitch who wrestled sharks while the rest of his crew were busy doing things like having dinner. Man that bitch was crazy.

"Nope. We're good for now. Although I hope you're planning on making those drinks since I can't cook for squat and... oh screw it we can kill anyone who complains. I'm starting to like this whole evil thing, life is so much more easier when you don't care about what happens." Stroking his beard he pulled his special cigar from his pocket, ruffling Yuffie from her weirdly deep sleep, and placed it in his mouth before pulling out a lighter to set it off. Smoke coming out from the burning tip he breathed in and out releasing a thick cloud of smoke as he did so. "Guess i'll go and plot that course so we don't get too lost. Didn't think i'd be heading back to Cactus Island ever again. I have a history there. I'm up for a game of pirate poker later if you want." Still chuckling as he smoked his cigar and walked off Leander swept his hand through his hair making sure everything was in fit order before transforming his hand into smoke to unlock the series of keyholes which would release the bolts that held his door in place, disappearing inside as the door shut loudly on its own and relocked.

Leander "Gullible Twat" Hastings - 11 SD, 5,400,000 Beli
Ryan "Raging Asshole" Glasgow - 12 SD, 6,250,000 Beli

I like how everyone on the site knows Ryan but not a single one of their characters can figure out he's a fucking Marine

I also like how Leander is one of the most faired PCs yet is the most gullible guy ever

Someone post here and pay 3,105,000 in ship upkeep. Don't make me hound you with the tax collector.
