A-Owww- that’s cold!” the wrestler bellowed to himself, stepping out of the water and onto the beach, water dripping off of his chiseled body. His boat had sprung a leak a few miles back, so the half fishman had opted to swim the rest of the way, given that the island, or rather the chain of islands, were quite near.

Running his hand back over his drenched hair, Damien scanned around, finding the place rather deserted, or at least the beach was. Finishing his hair swipe with a quick backwards movement, it stuck up almost completely straight up in his signature obnoxious spiked style, defying both logic and physics, because anime.

Things in these waters were oddly calm, at least to him, after spending his entire life on Salt Island in the Grand Line, surrounded by thugs, thieves, and pirates. The peace was nice and all, but he needed some excitement, or he was going to snap at this rate. With any luck, he would find some entertainment on godknowswhatrockinthemiddleoftheseathisis, and if now, he would just have to make his own.

In any case, if his fate was to become the most famous wrestler in the world, then fate must have guided him to this island. Wherever this place was, whoever was here, they were the first of many stepping-stones that would come with this journey.

Walking past the beach and towards a beaten stone path, Damien rounded the corner, peering over to find a small, rustic village, very traditional looking, and a battered sign with a single word on it. “Shi-rooooooi- Village?! Oi, here I am, M.S.G., addictive as hell, and ready to spice up yer lives! Wooooowoooowooo~” He howled, grinning like a mad man, face skyward and arms raised at his sides. Make his own entertainment it was.

Tsubaki lazed about in a back corner of the bar in Shiroi village. Lethargic, she had kicked her feet up onto the table and leaned her chair onto it's hind legs, and had remained that way for the better part of an hour now. It was unlike her to be up and about during the day, as she usually stuck to lurking around in the nighttime, but lately she had been feeling restless.

She had happened upon a pirate crew sailing out from the island she had been on previously, and had convinced them to carry her on to the next island they came to. That island happened to be Hitsuji Archipelago. Tsubaki had been here for a week now, and with every new island she visited, the length of her stays got shorter and shorter. Something would have to change soon. The thrill of being in new places still appealed to her, but when she had set out from Amazon Lily three years prior, she had imagined a bit more for herself than just being a temporary guest in several inns across the North Blue.

She let out a loud sigh, which caught the attention of one of the waitresses making her way through the bar. The girl threw Tsubaki a dirty look, for the fifth time in probably as many minutes. She hadn't been hostile until about thirty minutes ago, when she finally realized Tsubaki had no intention of ordering anything, fully intending to just take up space and wallow in her own restless feelings. Tsubaki met the girl's gaze, throwing her arms behind her to link her fingers behind her head. She raised an eyebrow in challenge, knowing full well the girl wasn't brave enough to accost her.

Someone outside the bar yelled, loud enough to make Tsubaki shift her attention from the snobby waitress to glance at the front door of the bar. Her curiosity appropriately piqued, Tsubaki threw her legs off the table, settling her chair back on to all four of it's legs.

The bar’s door suddenly slammed open with a thunderous boom, noon sunlight pouring in from behind the imposing figure that had just kicked it open. Grinning ear to ear, the half fishman still stood with his leg up in the exact spot he kicked the door at, before he lurched forward, heavily stomping down as he entered the building.

Oiiii! People of Shiiii-roi! Maybe you didn’t hear me before, but…” He walked towards the bar counter with a cocky swagger to his movements, before slamming his forearms into the counter, with an animalistic howl. “They call me M.S.G, and I’m here to see what this place has to offer! Woooowooowooooooo!” he cackled.

“Typical brazen pirates… We know how to deal with you here…” an older gentleman grumbled from a nearby table, palming a blade.

Spinning to face him, Damien crouched slightly, tipping his head to get a good look at the man who said that. “A pirate? Me?” he questioned, with a deadpan tone and expression. “I’m afraid you are mistaken old man, I’m not a pirate, not at all. That said, I can see why you would think that…

The half fishman popped to his full height in the blink of an eye, raising both arms up and flexing cockily “-Because being this good is a crime!” he bellowed. “Wooooooo- Wooowooowooo!” he laughed, falling back into a stool, spinning it to face the bar.

Again, he slammed his forearms into the counter- “Give me the biggest, strongest, cheapest drink you got!” he demanded. The barmaid was clearly unimpressed by his display, rolling her eyes before she turned an began mixing the contents of various bottles.

While he waited, Damien glanced back at the old man from before- “No offense meant to you, old-timer, I just enjoy a show like anyone else, eh? Wooowooowooo~ Say, this place have any wrestlers? I could sure go for a match.

Tsubaki chewed on the inside of her cheek as she watched to stranger slam his way into the bar. An eyebrow rose as she got a good look at him when he made his way across the bar. She could tell from the scales on him that he wasn't fully human, and that alone was one of the more rare sights to see. She had only seen a handful of fishmen in her travels, and had yet to see any half-breeds. She couldn't say she was impressed. His hair was in wild spikes, his build and clothes looked like he was ready to throw down at any given moment, and his personality was the type she usually stayed away from. She wondered how long he had been traveling. In her experience, the loudmouths that were always looking for a fight usually never made it very far. Maybe he was strong enough to keep up that personality.

She watched as he went on yelling, just as he had been doing outside, "Because being this good is a crime!” he bellowed. She gave him a dry look, but his attention was on the old man who was giving him exactly the kind of attention he looked like he wished to garner. So, then, he wasn't a pirate. Tsubaki could feel her restless feelings shift from temporarily entertained back to unsatisfied. It was pirates she was looking for, a way to get off the archipelago. Still, I bet if he isn't a pirate himself, he'll be quick to gain the attention of pirates, with the way he's carrying on...sticking around him could be beneficial, She mused.

"Say, this place have any wrestlers? I could sure go for a match.” He asked, talking to the old man once again. And there was what Tsubaki had been anticipating, the fight he was going to start. Not that she was going to pick a fight with the man herself, but for the duration of her stay in Shiroi village, she had seen more than a few people who passed for more than just your average joe. She knew there were fighters in this village, even with it's rustic look. If he was looking for a fight, Tsubaki could bet that he was going to get exactly what he was looking for.

The barmaid, done mixing Damien’s drink, slid it across the counter towards him, with a bored expression on her face. “Owww~ Thanks, sweetness~” he grinned, catching the drink with right hand. Looking down on, the first thing he noticed was the bright, neon green color that almost seemed to glow in the dimly lit bar. A bit of fog drifted off of it, as if it had a chunk of dry ice in it.

This some sort of… Special?” he questioned, holding it up to the light. “Something like that…” the girl replied, a small smile forming on the corners of her mouth.

Raising it up to his nose, he noted a sharp, acrid smell to it, distinct from the typical smell of alcohol. “Heh, well…” he set the glass down again, flat expression on his face. “I’m in no position to refuse this place’s special~” he grinned.

Salut! Wooowooowooo~” he bellowed, raising the glass high up, ready to chug the whole thing in one go.

*Cr-Crack- Sploooosh- Psssssst-*
The glass cracked and broke from the bottom, spilling the drink all over the counter, hissing and burning through the hardwood. The wrestler’s head slowly lowered, looking down at the acidic mess pooling in front of him.

A moment passed in silence. “Wooooooo…. Wooooooooo…. Woo, Woo, Wooo, Woooo, Woooooooooooooo!” he cackled manically, slamming his clenched fists down on the counter, on either side on the puddle.

This went on for almost a full minute, before he was finally clutching his sides, breathless, but still laughing silently, rocking back and forth. Raising his palm up, he hyperventilated, then returned to normality with a long, satisfied sigh.

You- You fuckers are trying to kill me! Like, really, really kill me! Wooooooooo- Wooo, wooo~~ Awww, shit, you guys are- Too. Damn. Funny.

Damien stood up and shook around, loosening up, before flexing with another cocky grin. “You’ll have to try better than that! Wooohooooo, wooo, woo!

Tsubaki's facial expression went from mildly intrigued to downright, unveiled astonishment. She had seen more than a few fights during her travels, especially battles originating from drunkards in a bar, but never had she witnessed an outright attempt at assassination. Especially in such a place as Shiroi village, one of the more peaceful places she had chosen to visit. She could only tell that this village had fighters because of her own martial arts skills, and her observant nature. None of the fighters here were very boisterous. The only clue that gave them away was the confident, sure steps they took, and the fit physiques of men who did more than just farm or keep a store.

Although she had kept herself aware of such people, she hadn't taken a further look into the village. Maybe Shiroi was known for something altogether different than just fighting. Or was it just this bar that had a habit of trying to poison it's customers to death? Her jaw set in a line. There was obviously something deeper going on, and with her curious nature, Tsubaki didn't enjoy being out of the loop on secrets.

Is it because the male is a fishman? She wondered to herself. Although she hadn't ever run into predjudice situations, she had heard people talk of their own opinions on fishmen. It seemed the world didn't have a universal, equal opinion about the race, although Tsubaki never understood herself what there was to debate. The only general reason to hate him would be because he's a male, she thought, but then discounted that notion. That kind of discrimination was exclusive to her fellow tribeswomen, as far as she had seen. Besides, the old man who had been the first to threaten the half-fishman had to be in on the scheme.

She could feel the air tense as those who were innocent realized that something dangerous going on in the bar, and those who weren't innocent realized that their assassination attempt failed. Typical to Tsubaki's nature, the little self control she exercised over things that fueled her curiousity snapped. She stood up, intentionally pushing back on the chair as she did, so that it clattered to the ground. Her eyes swept across the bar, and she noticed the waitress from earlier that had been giving her dirty looks. Maybe it was good that she was intending to get involved with whatever the half-fishmale had jumped into. She didn't know what they were after, and for all she knew, she could have been the next target.

Settling down from his laughing fit, Damien locked eye’s with a lovely lady across the bar, tilting his shades down to see her clearly. “Well, hellooooooo~” he purred with a devilish grin.

*Wham*

The wrestler’s pupils dilated as he began to feel woozy. Stumbling forward a bit, he collapsed forward onto the ground.

Behind him was the old man from before, hand straight out after hitting a point on Damien’s neck. “Goddamn upstart.”

The fishmale earned himself another dry look from Tsubaki, but again she doubted he saw it, or would remember it, as he slumped to the ground. All she had done was stand up, she hadn't even properly helped yet, and she was already feeling as if she was going to regret her decision to help a male. This was her first time going out of her way for a member of the opposite sex, and so far she wasn't so enthused about it. Men.

Still, she was amazed at the tenacity with which the schemers in the bar went after the fishmale. Did they even notice that there were other people in the bar witnessing their every move?

"I'll be taking that male with me," She said, ordering more than asking. Slinking around tables and chairs, she approached the old man cautiously.

Damien slowly came to, unsure of what just happened to him. Blinking and groaning, he glanced up, not moving an inch, and observed the scene unfolding before him.

The old man that had knocked him out was now standing in front of him, and advancing towards the woman, who in turn approached the old man.

Well, if his hunch was correct, this little show was reaching its climax, and if this was anything like a wrestling match, that last cheap shot was what would secure his victory.

Snapping up and flying towards the old man in one movement, the wrestler barked- “M.S.G-” he raised his elbow, bracing his fist with his other hand- “-Flying Elbow!” he smashed into the man, just as he began to turn around, sending him reeling back from the full force hit.

Owwww~ Wooo, Wooo! I’m sure you had no idea what you were doing, but for a wrestler like me, that little trick of yours did more good for me than anything!” Raising one leg up onto a chair, he continued “You gotta please the crowd, right? Get them on your side, be the hero. Well, there’s no shame in getting knocked out with a cheap shot, that shit just secures your position as the spectator’s favorite! Wooooowoooowoo!” He chuckled, letting his guard down, unaware of the scene forming around him.

At this point, the bounty hunters of the village weren’t fully convinced that he wasn’t a pirate, and the fact that he had in avertedly avoided an assassination attempt and recovered from a pressure-point strike wasn’t helping his case. Unfortunately, the girl that stood up for him while he was knocked out was now caught in the crosshairs in this increasingly grim situation as well.

It seemed this day was bound to be full of surprises for Tsubaki. Before she could figure out how she was going to deal with the old man in front of her, and the other potential enemies in the bar, the fishmale popped up as if nothing had happened to him, and smacked his elbow straight into the old man. Unfortunately for the man, he turned into the elbow just as it came towards his face. Tsubaki hadn't taken many hits straight to the face in her life, as she liked to guard that more than anything, but she could bet that that elbow hadn't felt too good as it ground itself into the old man's face-bones.

She had put a table in between her and the old male, and stepped away as he slammed into it, unable to keep his footing after the blow he took. She debated if he would still fight once he recovered from the hit, and turned towards him, ready for any counterattacks. As she turned, though, a movement out of the corner of her eye caught her attention, and she glanced over to see that the movement had stemmed from the barmaid. Swiftly changing targets, she approached the bar, and smoothly jumped up onto it, careful to avoid the acid spill. She peered down at the barmaid like a vengeful spirit. The least she could do to help the fishman was to make sure he didn't get acid poured on him from behind.

Keeping the barmaid within her periphereals, she turned and glanced at the rest of the bar. How many people left in the room were enemies, and how many people were just ready to watch a good fight? The barmaid shifted her feet, provoking a growl from Tsubaki. "Do nothing but breathe," She ordered, turning her full attention back to the girl.

Whooooooooo-” Damien whistled hollowly, looking around at all of the new enemies he managed to make in the five minute span since he came to this island. It appeared the young lady was interrogating the other young lady behind the bar.

He had no doubts that he could beat anyone in this room, and the young lady that had sided with him seemed to be a strong one herself, but the real question was whether or not he should. Hell, he might be brazen, and addictive, and amazing, but Damien wasn’t quite stupid, just impulsive.

Wait a second…” he thought, piecing together a reason to not pummel everyone in the place. “Bar fights are good and all, but damn, they’re pretty cliché, and like hell someone’s gonna call me a biter!

Hey, hey, hey- I’m not tryin’ to cause no trouble here, that little lady and that old man asked for some trouble. Now, the way I see it, we can do this the easy way, or we can do this the hard way, the choice is yours, and yours alone.” He said in a rather calm manner, arms crossed.

You’ve already seen the hard way.” He continued, pointing over to the old man, who still laid groaning on the floor. The wrestler snorted, cracking a smile.

What do you think, girly? A fair offer, wouldn’t you say?” He extended to Tsubaki. “I can think of some pretty nasty ways to deal with someone who tried to get me to drink acid for no apparent reason, even after I made it abundantly clear that I was just the humblest of wrestlers, not some wanted thug. Maybe ya just don’t like me scales…

"Fair," Tsubaki decided in response to the fishman, slanting a glance at the barmaid as he continued to insinuate her guiltiness in this whole situation. As he had made his olive-branch peace offer, a tense silence had come over the bar, which was broken only by hushed whispers.

A few seconds passed, and when no one immediately rushed to the fore to start a battle, those who weren't a part of the scene seemed to understand that a fight wasn't going to happen. Disappointed by the lack of immediate entertainment, several groups of men scattered throughout the bar slid money for drinks onto their respective tables, and shuffled out of the bar. The commotion was enough to force Tsubaki to look away from the barmaid, as she carefully watched every movement the men who left the bar made, still ready for any threats that could come her way. When none appeared, her gaze instead caught on a pair of shady-looking men in the back. They had placed themselves in the opposite corner of where Tsubaki had been sitting earlier, out of the spotlight, and only caught her attention as the place cleared out.

Sometime in between her jumping up onto the bar, and the fishman's little speech, Tsubaki had crouched down from her standing position. She now used her crouch to flow straight into a leap that took her off the counter, to the floor. She skulked towards the pair in the back, both of whom leaned over a large pile of papers, quickly whispering to each other and flipping through the documents. If they saw her coming, they chose not to acknowledge it. Finally, when she neared their table, she placed one hand on their table to lean over and view their papers. As she did so, the men finally chose to look up. Both men were older, and were large and muscular, with scars running up and down their arms, looking as if they had seen more than a few fights in their lifetimes. As they rested their attention on her, each gave her a sullen look, but said nothing.

Raising an eyebrow at the unwarranted irritation thrown her way, she gave up on getting them to give her an explanation, and instead focused her attention on the documents they had. Scattered all across the table were bounty posters for pirates.

"That brat doesn't have a bounty," The man on the left said with sigh of disappointment, directing his comment more to his partner than to Tsubaki.

"He said he wasn't a pirate," Tsubaki replied matter-of-factly.

"She doesn't either," The one on the right said, ignoring her.

Tsubaki growled low from the back of her throat. She didn't appreciate being ignored, especially by a couple of stupid males. But before she could stir any real anger, she forcefully reminded herself that the fishman had just settled an almost-fight. She could handle a pair of dumb males. She could bet that she'd have to do it plenty of times in the future anyway. The world outside Amazon Lily wasn't easy to cope with. Settling herself down just as quickly as she had fired up, she simply turned her back on the ignorant pair, and walked back towards the half-fishman.

"It would seem that they have no more reason to fight," She told him as she approached, "unless you would like to dispose of the guilty one." Tsubaki leaned against the bar, pointing a thumb at the barmaid in reference, and throwing a malicious grin at the girl over her shoulder.

Tsubaki was not afraid of death, whether it was directed towards her or if she was forcing it on someone else. And those who tried to tempt death on her were in for a full ride straight to the gates of hell, if Tsubaki could manage it. But she wasn't the one who had been threatened, and there were people in the world more forgiving and less eager to murder than she.

Dispose? Not really my style there, sweetie.” Damien replied to Tsubaki’s suggestion. “When you’re as good as I am, people assume a lot of you, good and bad. Tired girl over there wasn’t really too much at fault, and neither was geezer, I suppose. In the past, eh? Wooo, wooo~” he laughed, making light of the situation.

Oh right, one more thing I before I take my leave~” he walked to the counter, reaching for something tucked in his knee pad- “This is for you.” He said to the barmaid, grinning ear to ear. He slapped his hand down on the counter, leaving a folded bill in front of the girl. “That’s a tip, just for you, tired girl. Here’s another tip, hit me up later, I’ll be here all week.

The girl glared down at the bill, and back at Damien, squinting at him. *wham~* he slapped him across the cheek, before pocketing the beli and turning around with a huff. However, the wrestler didn’t falter for a second, retaining his cocky grin- “Woooo, I like some fight, I’ll be seeing you later, tired girl~” he purred, turning to leave himself.

I won’t deny a challenge by the way, if anyone is interested.” He finished, walking to the door, locking eyes with as many brutes as he could. “But I ain’t liable for anything that happens if and when you do.” He snorted.

Just as he was about to move on, he glanced over at Tsubaki, who was kind enough to make the hypothetical fight that was prone to happen more even. Seemed like he should return the favor, seeing as it didn’t seem like she was from around here either. “Oi, wild girl- care to join me, this place don’t seem too hot for you either.

Tsubaki absorbed the half-fishman's offer with a thoughtful expression. Although she had buttered up pirates to hitch a ride to a new island before, she felt this time was different. An Amazon Lily tribeswoman walking out of a bar together with a male. It had probably been done before, seeing as how several women journeyed off and came back to the island with child. Plus, it wasn't as if the half-fishman was offering companionship long-term. For all she knew, he could just want to find drinks in another bar in the area, and thought she might know where one was.

In response to his offer, she simply followed after him. Maybe he didn't like to dispose of his enemies, which Tsubaki could deal with, although she always thought that those who chose to attack her should spend the rest of their time in the afterlife. And neither was he a pirate, which was one of her favorite goals, courtesy of spending her childhood looking up to the strong warriors of the Kuja pirates as if they were heroes. But just because he said he wasn't a pirate doesn't mean he wasn't up for becoming one. After all, she technically wasn't a pirate yet either, having done nothing more than explore all of the islands she had visited. And if he didn't ever want to become one, she would simply part ways with him whenever she wanted.

At the end of the day, what really decided her actions were not all of these considerations, although she did think about them. What really determined her path was simply her instincts, and that pesky emotion that fueled most of her actions, curiosity. The half-fishman made her curious, even though he was loud...and a male...and from what she had seen in his interactions with the barmaid, a rather typical sort of male. When she thought on that, her face gained an unentertained expression. If there was a reason he made her curious, it certainly wasn't because of his way with women. Regardless, she'd stick around until she got bored.

Quiet type, are ya?” Damien asked, leaning against the outside wall of the bar. “Well, I guess this is as good a time as any for an introduction. It’s Damien- Damien Loud, but my stage name is M.S.G. I’m front Salt Island, in the Grand Line. How about yourself?
