Ittai listened with a blank face as Izuru carried out his version of a punishment for the bounty hunter's actions. If she was his subordinate, he would have killed her on the spot for the attempts on his life, but she wasn't and it was up to the Shichibukai to administer a proper punishment. However, the pirate did not deny that if Izuru's goal was to completely crush Clover spirit then the punishment was rather appropriate. From what he had noticed in these past couple of hours, the bounty hunter despised pirates, especially Izuru, very much, so being labeled as one was going to make things very interesting in both the short and the long run, something that he would make sure to keep eye for future interactions with his own crew. After all, his primary and pretty much the only punishment was to kill the troublemakers. It has worked so far but there was always a chance that there'll be some person who would be too much trouble to kill and as such a different method of punishment would be appropriate.

Lost in thought, the doctor did not see a thrown knife until it embedded itself in the Shichibukai's chest. Apprehension filled the ex-Marine as he watched Izuru go through his death throes. Was the bilkan sad that the ice man died? It was more of a disappointment that he had lost an ally before he could use him to the full potential rather than sadness. No, what Ittai was apprehensive about was the fact that with the Shichibukai's death, he now faced a group of Marines with the protection that came with being in Izuru's crew no longer there. It would be rather hard to escape with his life, but the pirate was somewhat confident that he could do it. Thankfully, it would not come to that for there came laugh from the iceman, indicating that he was faking the entire time. Releasing a breath he did not know he held, the chef involuntarily shivered as the temperature around his "captain" dropped before rising again as he decided that killing the bounty hunter was not worth it before turning around and heading back to the ship, Yogi on his shoulder.

Relaxing a bit, the doctor followed the Shichibukai through the crowd. The whole incident made him wonder. Would he save Izuru's life if a chance presented itself? After a few moments of consideration, the ex-Marine decided that no, he would not. As much as it would suck to lose so strong a benefactor and as much as it would put him in the iceman's good graces, it would benefit him much more if he took down the Shichibukai's killer. After all, if he managed to kill the person who managed to kill Izuru, then his name would carry far more weight than if he simply saved his life. The bilkan was once again drawn out of his thoughts by a panting member of his crew. "Sir, I have just received word that the Kongju had escaped. Additionally, 'that' person has also surfaced in relation to the escape." the man said after catching his breath, putting an emphasis on the word 'that'. A smile spread on Ittai's face underneath his bandages as he processed the information.

It seemed that the man responsible for his unfair release from the Marines had finally shown his face. As such, it was high time that he had put the matter to rest. It was time to make him regret the decision that he made that fateful date, to take away everything just like he did with the pirate, and then kill him. As for the Kongju, the chef had at one point considered allying himself with them to use their influence but they were defeated before he could carry it out. It seems fate was giving him a second chance and he would not mess it up. Of course, revenge was his primary target, alliance was secondary.

"Excuse me, Shichibukai Izuru. I'm afraid that personal revenge matter has come up and I do not know when another opportunity will present itself. I will leave my lieutenant in your care as well as part of my crew. I hope that this matter will not take too long and then I will be back to resume my duties in your crew." the doctor said, pointing out the man who had delivered the news as his lieutenant. Waiting a few moments to see if Izuru would tell him anything worthwhile, the ex-Marine departed for his ship. He did not particularly care if the Shichibukai would take him back after this stunt or not. Taking his revenge mattered more and he would never forgive himself if he did not take the chance to make things right in the world.

She was not an idiot.

The combination of Izuru’s appalling acting and her attention to detail ensured that the Sniper did not fall for his cruel trick. She had seen how men died. Someone like the iceman was not slain by such an insignificant knife, even after a small marathon of challenges. It had been an act of aggression meant to relieve some of her pent up frustration but the manner in which it changed into another opportunity to mock her only served to a further raise her internal temperature. Clover almost took the bait, her mind itching to attack the Shichibukai as he frosted his immediate vicinity.

From her perspective, his eyes were glowing an eerie cold white. The ice that spread out from his body sprung up from the debris as limbs, forming skeletal creatures that crept around the Shichibukai as he drained the colour from the world. Only the moving ice remained a light blue that intensified against the darkness. The ice skeletons danced and cackled at her around their master… and then Clover blinked. Gone. Just the Shichibukai and some frozen ruins.

A little disturbed, Clover refrained from acting on her impulses. Instead she matched him with an equally frosty stare until he turned around and started to head down the debris ridden street. Only after he had stooped down to pick up the bear did she drop the glare, though the cyborg could not find the peace of mind to relax. Her mind and nerves were still a jittering mess.

“Bastard.” She muttered and spat at the floor.

For the umpteenth time that day, Clover considered trying to flee. On this occasion, her reason to not follow through with the consideration was a mix of fear and pride. She blamed the first ingredient on the chemicals the clown had forced her to inhale, refusing to even mentally admit any actual fear of the Shichibukai. Her mind was not quite that fragile. As for the other reason, Clover liked to think that her persisting defiance was slowly wittingly away as the Iceman’s patience. Eventually he would be too fed up with her to bother dragging her along… though how he decided to get rid of her would greatly influence how victorious she could claim to be afterwards.

Clover took a deep breath and dropped from her perch. She landed with a thud, her boots scattering a lump of stone into several pieces on impact. She raised her head, her wide gaze met by many others. The sea of individuals that had parted for the Shichibukai had turned their attention to her, whispers of her actions passing over the crowd like ripples. The Sniper refused to believe that anyone could serious take the word of that scumbag, perhaps they would foolishly in the immediate aftermath of the destruction but time would be on her side…

Her silence was her innocence.

She walked forward confidently at first, though eventually the weight of their stares got to her. Every so often a nearby face would transform suddenly into the wild cackling grin of the clown or the pupils would start to spiral hypnotically and start to make her dizzy. Clover tilted her head downward and stared at the floor as she followed, her steps slow and uncertain as she followed the path through the crowd.

It was moments like these that reminded her why she never tried to be the center of attention…

They did not seem sad to see him go, while it was essentially true that he and those with him had taken care of the entirety of the island criminal underworld the method they had done it was considered somewhat wanting in terms of elegance. The brutality with which henchmen and even infected civilians had been slain did nothing to encourage the school of thinking that warlords were reformed pirates, instead simply providing evidence that they were in fact just murderers with a license doing as they pleased where they pleased with no one left to stop them. He was no hero, ridding this island of evil, he was simply a man making an example of those who fucked with him and the rest had been collateral damage, unfortunately that was all too obvious to those who had born witness to it. The world government however would likely put their own spin on it “Igloo saves island” would probably find it’s way into the papers in order to encourage public confidence in the scheme but what did it matter to him? They could sell it any way they wanted as long as they stayed out of his way it was of no consequence.

Though while in his case their scathing was somewhat stifled, no one wanting to vocalize their distaste towards a man previously wanted for 200 million beli to clover they were not so kind. Apparently the title of bounty hunter meant something to people, so the idea of one who killed indiscriminately while kowtowing to a pirate was not one they took to kindly. It was murmurs and hushed whispers mostly but what did stray far enough to be audible was far from kind.

No sooner were they free of the rowdy crowd of rabble before a new fresh faced individual came sprinting towards them, though this time from the docks arriving in a huffing mess of panted breaths he stopped in front of sinne to relay some news. He wasn’t trying to eaves drop but it wasn’t exactly whispered, though what the kongju were eluded him entirely he’d have to ask clover later, his attention towards the outside world was entirely self serving. He only took notice of things that related to him, it was the same reason he had his crewman read the papers for him in the morning, no point wasting time on the mundane bullshit that was such an epidemic in this day and age.

Whatever it was the brought the man over seemed pressing and caused sinne to approach the ice man for a word. His expression was one of appraisal as the explanation was given but once done his response was swift and simplistic. ”Ok” his hand slipping within his suit jacket before retuning once more with a wrist strap mounted den den mushi tossing it towards the bandaged man ”Don’t lose it, I’ll let you know if anything of importance arises. Return swiftly.” that was about as close to a good luck as he came, whatever it was that had occurred it seemed close to the mans heart, and revenge could be a harsh mistress. There were something’s in this world you simply had to do without room for compromise and as it appeared this was one of them, he was never one to get in the way of a mans revenge that was personal.

With a simply nod, all expectations for his success were conveyed, though just to what length he’d need to go for it he was unsure. Which just left him and clover, along with all the crewmen, sinne’s now included. They were sure to have picked up some decent food while they’d still been in town, they should have a party when they got back, was worth celebrating the success of this last venture and those moany maggots would likely be in shitty spirits after a few of their comrades were taken down, besides he’d need something to make ittai’s men feel welcome lest they feel ostracized on their own ship. And though it was not a fundamental point it bore no less weight, he could find something ridiculous for clover to wear, he knew how much she hated those outfits but after fucking up twice in one day there could be no complaints.

When the did finally reclaim the docks in sight once more some semblance of vitality seemed to return to the ragged mass of bodies following behind him, they’d had a taxing day in fairness, it had been easy on none of them though the sight of the ship now clean of flesh eating infected and the thought of a warm bed tonight seemed enough to ease the fatigue from their bones. ”OI BOYS, GET THE SHIP SET UP AND READY WE’RE SAILING OUT IMMEDIATELY, AND TONIGHT IT’S A PARTY, WITH OUR GUEST OF HONOR THE NEWLY INITIATED PIRATE PRINCESS, THE DESERT EMERALD HERSELF!!” though he could take none of the words leaving his mouth seriously it worked wonders to raise moral, a cheer reverberated through the lagging crowd like a wave of crashing thunder and not a face war present that wasn’t plastered with a smile. The mass of bodies practically charged the distance to the ship slipping around him, heading to hoist sails, raise anchor and a bunch of other pointless shit that anyone with half a brain had never had to do, because they could find others willing too.

Glancing back over his shoulder he saw clover lagging a little, seemingly not even roused by his jibe at her change of profession, she really wasn’t looking her best, eye’s glazed and vacant body unbalanced and swaying, she seemed as though it was a challenge to simply put one foot in front of the other though she managed it, at a struggle. This would be a prime time to take her too see the doctor……if he had one. Leanders one opportunity to make use of himself and he wasn’t even present for it, though the idea of leaving that man alone with the body of a young woman seemed like it would be anything but healthy.

Once aboard his ship once more he headed directly for his cabin, keen for a change of clothes and a shower, but as he took his jacked off he caught something he’d not even realized to far. The den den mushi on his wrist it was making the signature elongated pi…….ru sound that meant there was a message that had been left on it. Ka-cha, the sound eluted as he picked up the miniature receiver, of all voices to burst into existence from it Leander’s was the one to come through, that guy, did his answer machine message mean nothing to him?

"Hehe. How charming. Well Izuru it's Leander here. It's been awhile since we last spoke and was wondering if you'd like to work together in the future. I'm meeting up with Kamina shortly and going to pass the idea along to him. In about a year I would like us to hunt down a yonkou. I'm not quite into the position myself but it'd be useful if I had a good friend in the spot meaning you. We could go by Asparte for revenge, or we could go after Bright Eyes who made the foolish move of expanding his territory into the blues for some stupid reason. I don't know about the rest of the yonkou and i'd rather not pick a fight with someone completely unknown. Bright Eyes at least is a well documented yonkou after his little stunt with Horus. Call me back on my private number when you get the chance."

“Good friend” that was an interesting term from someone who’d claimed only ever to use others as was convenient, thought it was true they’d been through some shit together. Just how much faith he could put in those words was debatable but that said he also wasn’t expecting to get used as a sacrifice. Well that was unexpected, those yonkou had been his target for a while now but he’d not expected Leander to be thinking so far ahead, nor to have come up with such offensive tactics he always seemed more comfortable on the back foot, just what had changed since they’d last seen each other. He was going to need to be rid of one of them to claim a spot anyways, and even hew wasn’t so fool hardy as to think it could be done as a solo venture at this point, perhaps a little teamwork was exactly what was in order.

It appeared he had a phone call to make.

Noobs.

Pertinent upkeep deducted. You didn't link a ship and truthfully I'm not willing to go scrounge around, but if you have one, figure out how to pay the upkeep for that.

Handling notoriety of Shichibukai and assosciates is weird. Eventually I'll get around to asking if we can subsidize threat or something. Nada for this SL.

Clover can be reclassed as a pirate (more accurately assosciated with a Warlord) if shamma so chooses, Izuru's word isn't exactly the end all here even ICly. Tell me if want.
