Clothing/Accessories: He wears a three piece completely black suit with a silver tie that hangs loosely around his neck, his shirt is always open at the collar and he has a black overcoat that he wears over it all. To cap off the ensemble he wears a pair of black dress shoes. The only form of accessory he has is the cross shaped pendant that hangs off the katana which is attached to the small of his back. The cross act's as a reminder of just how alone human's truly are in this world, and the foolishness of relying on some unseen higher power.

General Appearance: Much like his brother Izuru is a taller than average individual. He has a fairly average build for a man of his age, close to athletic but more muscular by a slight margin. The light facial hair he has gives him some what of a rugged look accompanied by a deep gaze that can give the impression of a man with many years behind him. His complexion is fairly light with a slight bronze tone to it. On his neck he spots a large scar either side, the result of an altercation with a wild beast that nearly cost him his life.

The Character
Personality: Izuru is a man of leisure, he does as he wishes when he wishes and follows life according to whatever whim takes his fancy. Being rather relaxed in his nature he is rarely if ever seen to get riled up other things, often when approached he will be friendly but that is not to say he is innately nice. If he helps someone it will only ever be because he chooses too, for whatever reason that will be, he's never driven by morale obligation. The world is, in his view, his playground within which he is free to do as he pleases, the constraints and rules set by society do not apply to him because he chooses not to let them. In his mind one is free to do as they please as long as they have the strength to shoulder the consequences of their actions, and he has reached a position where he does. There is however one trait that does have a knack for getting under his skin, and this is people who end up drunk on power. Those holding titles they are underserving of and believing that it entitles them to something, not only does this irritate him but he will more often than not remove those he see's as unfit with his own hands as punishment for their own stupidity, he see's the idiocy in this world as abundant enough already and this is his participation in the effort to cull it. An analytical mind that keeps it's working internal, the majority of what Izuru does takes place within his own thoughts. But that is not to say he avoids talking, it's just that he rarely does it about himself or the thoughts rolling round in his head.

History:
Izuru grew up on the island of factoria, unlike his younger brother he found it far easier to adapt some of his less common traits for an easier integration into society. He was generally thought of a fairly well liked boy, not causing harm to others and generally keeping a dutiful and respectful attitude to those around him. His life was one of simplicity, he did as was asked of him by his parent’s, played with the neighborhood kids and kept his grades up at school. When he had the chance he was a very caring older brother, Rayne was the person who he could relate too best, the one person who he cared about just as much as his own self preservation. The two of them shared a lot in common in terms of their perspective, and thusly Izuru could understand just how hard it was living in a world that did nothing to try and accommodate you. For him the realization of this truth and the transition into its acceptance had been a fairly fluid and gentle process but for Rayne he could see it was different, The boy did not understand why he could not see the world through the eyes so many others did nor why they were so opposed to the manner in which he lived life.

Izuru could completely relate to just how troubling a situation this could be but try as he might he could not ease the stress his brother suffered, despite enduring the same suffering himself he still had no solution. Then it came, the day of his brother’s incarceration. As apprehensive as he was to accept it he had known something like this was due for quite some time, it was almost a relief to have had it stop looming overhead. Young Rayne was put away and as much as he wished for the boy not to have had his freedom stolen from him he knew it would be something that his brother could handle, he would have to repent for his failure as a brother upon the boy’s release.

With his brother gone Izuru was swamped with boredom, no one he could really talk to, no one that was genuinely interested in the things that drifted round in his head. Nothing stimulated him these days, and without Rayne around it was becoming increasingly difficult to conform to the standards expected of him by society. Whilst drifting through the single lone forest that still occupied factoria he was stumbled on by a group of kid’s, at first they were lost in the initial awkwardness but as the introductions were passed they found that actually they all shared the same sense of loss in a world they didn’t understand. They quickly became friends and after talking a little more the divulged that they were a family and offered to take Izuru to the man who had brought them together. He was undeniably curious, what kind of man could find so many others so much like him and bring them a life in which they were able to be this happy.

He was known as Professor, none of the children could remember his actual name that was to say should they have ever actually known it, they had become so used to calling him professor that it had taken over as his name of choice. Izuru knew this was where he wanted to be immediately, even as a child so young of age he could already tell this was an environment far more accepting of him than any he would find at home, the professor offered him a place to live with him and gratefully the young boy accepted being taken under the mans wing.

The years passed and the family raised him, they educated him, taught him to fight, schooled him in the ways of the world and steadily molded him into the man he would be in the future. But his time under the professor came at a cost, the man expected his children to earn for him, he needed a way to fund his exploits of science as well as keeping a roof over their head and food on the table. In exchange for their lifestyle the Children had been turned into pirates, stealing from the islands visitors in order to earn their keep. But as time went on the professors requests became more intrusive, suddenly he began inviting the children to participate in his experiments, acting as guinea pigs to test his theories. As time went on “invite” turned into “order” and suddenly they were nothing but slaves at the mercy of a dictator.

Strangely though the others were untroubled by this, they had no issue with conceding to the man’s demands as long as he kept providing them with the home he always had, for Izuru on the other hand it was just too much. He refused to have his life played out at the hands of another, he took what he needed and fled to the sea’s, eager to put some distance between himself and the whole insane scenario. Aside from Rayne it was the first time he had felt longing for the company of others, those he had met in the company of the professor were individuals he would not soon forget but he was not flexible enough to bend to that man’s will and thusly their stay together was forced to an early close.

Using the skills he had attained he made a name for himself on the Sea’s as a notorious pirate, strengthening his abilities so as never to be dominated by another again, he would grow until he was the type of man who could stand atop this world comfortably and do as he wished with no fear of others. Headed straight towards the grand line, leaving a path behind him to tolled up quite the hefty sum bounty wise, he was getting there but it was not enough he wanted more from the grand line, he was ready for it to test him further.

Abilities and Possessions
Combat: Izuru is generally calm in battle, he is not one to get caught up in the pace of the action but that is not too say he does not enjoy fighting. Dispatching weak opponents is nothing short of a chore but when he gets the chance to lock blades with someone strong, often it’s the most alive he is able to feel. Fighting towards his strength’s he will often close the distance between himself and an opponent using his overbearing speed, once within range they will find themselves assaulted in close quarters combat. He keeps himself moving constantly, making him that much harder to hit as a target but his style is somewhat straight forward, this coming from the fact that his formal training in combat was limited and a lot of it has been learnt through experience, but this is also what makes him such a well versed fighter, he does not mould his style to have to suit the situation, his style flows and adapts to whatever situation it is set in.

Traits:

Specific Devil Fruit (7 traits) - The player may choose a specific Devil Fruit, either canon or custom, for their character. These fruits are limited to Paramecia and Zoan, and further limited based on moderator discretion.

Awakened Haki Color of Armaments (4 Traits) Requires 50 SD and must be located in the Grand Line.
- The character has awakened their dormant ambition and is able to utilise this mysterious force in combat. They may specialise in one of the two basic colors (The Color of Armaments or The Color of Observation) or a Dormant Specialization. For their specialist color, the character's Haki maximum rank is 1/2 Fortune. For any other color, the maximum rank is 1/4 Fortune. They are also capped at rank 44 for their Specialist color techniques, and rank 28 for any other colors.

Sword Mastery (1 Trait) - The character has attained mastery in one specific weapon or form of attack that they have Martial Proficiency (can make techniques greater than rank 14) with. All techniques using this weapon or form of attack are always treated as being four ranks higher for purposes of calculating their technique rank benchmark, though their actual rank is not changed. This benefit ceases to apply for techniques higher than rank 28.

Blade Master (1 trait) - Character must be a Martial Artist or Weapon Specialist and be in the Grand Line to obtain this trait.
The character has completely mastered secret sword techniques that have no relation or relevance to some dumb art made by marines. Through vigorous training of pushing their body to the utmost limit, they are now able to make their own custom variations on any Rokushiki Super secret swordsman technique. Additionally they gain access to the most powerful Rokushiki ultimate blade master technique of all time better than anything some retard martial artist could manage, Rattlesnakes Sonata.

The user will be able to directly freeze objects at touch. Due to the high degree of control he has gained over his logia body allowing him to manipulate it freely and he is now capable of remaining in a constant elemental state allowing him defense against even surprise attacks.

Freezing: Techniques that freeze will cause the target to incur "partial freezing" when they successfully hit, meaning the target will suffer a debuff to speed equal to the techniques rank. Other professions get TP boosters to help balance them against martial professions, so characters can have enough TP to spend on their chosen craft as well as offensive techniques. They are not for helping offensive characters offence harder.

The first trait I could bend on but the last three just won't cut it.

Serpent wall won't cause freezing so much as numbness. Freezing is prolonged contact such as trying to climb it; a guy who can punch through it in one hit will just shiver a bit.

Swarm...who EVER needs 440 snakes? Make it like...100 at best. And no they don't all get to move freely, those things will be flailing around like the kraken.

How about Frozen Fair being like rank 20 if you want it to break steel?

With Weapon Creation Mark 2 you can expand by adding more ice. You can shrink by breaking it and refreezing it.

Rank 4 fog bank? Really? It'd cover like...1 meter.

Raging Blizzard either needs to be rank 44 or have a long wind-up time.

So Speak has recently gone ahead with cutting all npc traits that are professionally related. And seeing as Survivalist is secondary that cancels out the possibility of wildman being used as a general trait. I'd personally say take an advancement since thats the simplest way to keep Yogi if you really want him(Please keep him), without changing too much and altering who Izuru is.
Your basic sword techs should all have melee listed as their range.

Dance of the Diving Taipan should be short ranged since short range is considered a couple meters meahwhile medium range is like half a football stadium(American). Also specify that it's no bigger than the sword that creates it since I know your swords vary in size so consider that a benefit of overcompensating. Its won't be that fast either since its a basic shockwave so it pretty much just moves at your own speed for the most part.

Dance of the Ceaseless Taipan doesn't really need a maximum number since they could go on for as long as you have the stamina to keep up the gattling. But yeah same applies here as to the other tech it was branched from.

Dance of the Leaping Mamba can be a medium range shockwave thats larger than normal, otherwise remove all mentions of solid numbers and ranks.

Rattlesnake melody at rank 36 can cut through steel really well, and cut iron like butter but it wont' be doing anything to titanium or higher.

Rattlesnake sonata(aka sword rokugan). I'd like if you toned it down just a bit in the description. It sounds like one hit and the guy explodes internally.


I'm not sure what to do about the hie debuff formula stuff, I personally don't like it as it currently stands but i'll wait for Speak to give me a yes or no about what to do there.

Breaking yourself down into frost wouldn't be just tacked onto your base df. We've never even seen something close to that level of control especially for a solid logia. That would have to be its own seperate high rank tech but you can break down into small blocks of ice but I don't see how it would really help with movement or anything since ice isn't very light or mobile.

yeah for your steady chill and beyond heres the deal. You don't get to be near or anywhere around absolute zero. What you get is the ability to be ice and freeze things you touch on contact. Thats it. No need to throw in numbers and make bs happen. We've also never witnessed Aokiji freezing the moisture in the air itself so yeah you can freeze anything that touches you or is on the surface that you're in the process of freezing, the real benefit to these techniques would be in that the range of which you can freeze which would steadily increase though please remove the hard numbers in range. I'd also say you can start from rank 14+ to freeze and make brittle material items so you can shatter them with ease.

I'm pretty sure its canon established that after Aokiji freezes something its beyond his manipulation and control. Kinda weird for a logia but not gonna argue with it. So I don't see how your ice would move through ice as water. Its not too big a deal however so i'm willing to let that pass if Speak doesn't feel its an issue.

Seprent wall can be medium sized barrier of snakes and provide medium defenses(interpret that as you will) at that rank though I don't feel like the branch really works since they're doing two pretty different things.

For your ice serpent techs could you specify how just big these snakes are in a relative manner? Are they normal snake sized or are we talking anacondas and basilisks? Depending on your answer i'll figure out how many snakes these techs can create.

Frozen playground and festival don't work based on canon precedent previously stated. Speak himself may want to weigh in here however since personally I don't see anything wrong with the techniques, i'm just going by what I interpreted from canon during the marineford arc when Aokiji apologized for his ice stopping them from being able to hold off the pirates and him being unable to do anything.

Submersed has a few issues for being that low ranked. I'll expand on them later.

Submersible feels like it should be closer to rank 44 for all that. A rank 28 would be more so a personal sized craft and it wouldn't be able to go down very far at all. Also it wouldn't be able to transmit techniques.

Submersion has the same issues as previously stated but even more so.

Raging blizzard still has fortune in the description of it funnily enough. But yeah no freezing the moisture in the to create something from nothing. If you recall Aokiji tossed blades of grass in the air and breathed out cold air to freeze them into a blade of ice. You also won't be able to control them either indirectly unless you want to start moving them around as per shockwave magic like landman karate.

Northwind can have a pushback effect but it doesn't need to be hard numbered. And again no mentioning of the actual freezing temperature.

for your armament hardening techs we don't do tier raising anymore, it simply acts as an extra protective layer of a material hardness. So correct those techs.

Sight of the Soothsayer and sight of the seer need better descriptions as currently they're the same thing pretty much and give no clue as to what level you're metagaming the target.

Thought i'd removed all mention of that 1.3 x debuff thing last round but it should all be gone now.

Do i really need to specify it's as big as the sword that makes it? seems kinda logical and i'd rather not just put in excess text that explains things that go without saying.

Yeh shockwaves arn't supposed to be especially fast it's just to show they're a speed based shockwave rather than power since otherwise it wouldn't branch into the gatling

Well that one time on that island luffy busted him up so bad he was just like frost floating on the breeze and then he regenerated from it, so that showed he could exist as just frost still. But the only thing you are paying for with base logia df technique is the ability to turn your body into it's element, how would this not fall under that?

Dunno where that move through ice as water thing is but i don't mind taking it out, seems kinda dumb in hindsight.

Making ice out of nothing and then controlling it without contact was exactly what aokiji did with that partisan attack before whitebeard dicked all over it, this is just a variation of the same stuff.

Added some ranks for the material breaking aspects.

Well for soothsayer "focus on one opponent, predict their next action" is pretty concise, i don't actually think i could make that clearer.

Seer i was still pretty stuck for how to make what he's doing any clearer but gave it a go.

Nice attempt but gladiator isn't what entertainer was intended as.

For your observation haki techs yeah thats much better, though something like "has an innate sense of what the target's next action will be" sounds good for soothsayer if you're having trouble thinking how to describe it.

Frozen playground and the other tech are better now.

Here let me give you an example. Moku is a gas type fruit composed of tiny particles. To break them down into their smallest form i'd be essentially invisible and this would require a extremely high degree of control over my element rather than something that would be freeformable. Your base df tech gives you stuff more freeformable options for the most part.
Also that reference you gave only happened in the anime, just checked over the manga and this is what happens.

As for your partisan example you may be correct, it's hard to tell honestly based on those few panels where the ice comes from as it looked like it could have come from his back where the WB's spear had been frozen. However the idea of just creating ice anywhere in the vicinity from just the air alone gives you a pretty broken ability if you had chosen to truely abuse it, since in theory you could just trap anyone in an iceberg just by being within a range of them. If this is allowed which i'm doubtful of it would need to have strict and harsh limitations put upon it to avoid that particular abuse. If you wanted you could simply branch off from your north winds howl tech to where when you blow you release from your mouth tiny blades of ice shards that are whipped around and either then create a whirlwind storm of ice from that or just launch them forward like the with the wind. Obviously the first example would cost more due to the complexity. But yeah this keeps the concept of the technique without the abusive potential and even saving tp.

For the most part this wasn't too bad. And yeah i'd really like to see that gattling number removed but I don't feel like directly stepping on Yak's toes. I might ask him about it.
