Leander nodded realizing what Kamina said made sense, seastone was suppose to be the strongest material around as long as it was pure. surely there were probably other materials close to that durability he hoped. If there any he would definitely see about making a new set of armor from that as he would love seastone armor but both the cost and the fact that he was a devil fruit user made buying that impractical. Seastone armor would cost a fortune. "Well with haki even your ranged attacks will be able to strike a devil fruit user which would probably be a huge benefit against some devil fruits like the doku doku no mi. That was a fruit where you would be poisoned from even touching the user so fighting at a range would be almost necessary. I wanted it when I was a rookie pirate along with a few others but I ended up with the moku moku no mi. Its not as impressive as other fruits but it certainly can be very useful..." realizing he was talking way too much about devil fruits and probably boring Kamina and Ray Ray he abruptly switched topics back to haki and answered Ray Ray "Yeah man. I could teach you haki as well if you want. Though it seems there are only a limited number of fruits it would be really useful against." Remembering Kamina had mentioned Haru coming along which was true but he hadn't seen the man since they had left the boat. Had He fallen off? Perhaps Haru was lost on this island somewhere? Honestly the kid really overestimated himself so wandering on an island where pirates would all be as strong or stronger than him seemed a bad idea with the kid's attitude. Added witht he fact that surprisingly Kamina didn't want to start the training now it seemed they had nothing immediate that needed to be done other than his own side project. "Huh. Well in that case do you want to go look for Haru before the kid hurts himself?" Leander asked, his body relaxing as he stood up straight and lets his arms drop casually to his side. "I could help if you want." Leander grimaced as he saw the punch coming toward Kamina as soon as he had finished speaking. It looked like it wouldn't hurt much but just the way it had struck Kamina had left Leander feeling sorry for the man. If someone had done that to him he would have lost his cool instantly and destroyed the scruffy guy. "I'd run now before he decides to go and break you na half." He pretended to whisper to the guy but it was far above a quiet tone and done from a distance so everyone hear him anyway. Coming over to see just what the hell was going on as all the animals were being rounded up. A few of the wild beasts had managed to escape capture or death so far and had managed to find him. That had been unfortunate for the creatures however as he cut them down mercilessly. He was old now but not so much that some damn fur-balls could frighten him. "Calm down all of everyone!" He spoke loudly so that everyone heard him however his voice was not raised in agitation which gave him a commanding tone that most if not all of the people left around Leander, Kamina, and their apparent friend immediately obeyed he noticed to his pleasure. Seeing Kamina on the ground and the man who had clearly just punched him McGilly suddenly panicked. He didn't want anyone pissing off these two guys while they were on the island, things could get bad. While this was certainly an island known for hardened criminals they rarely got people like those two to this island. They could destroy the entire island within an hour. "You get out of here now before I throw you to the animals!" He shouted angrily at the man, his eyes shooting daggers that would have made small children flinch. He had practiced such a look back when he was in the marines in order to get the young recruits to obey. Waiting for the man to leave he began talking to Kamina and Leander "Listen. I was sent by the council..." Noticing what Ray Ray was doing he sighed and shook his head "Son will you stop cutting up my island?" He asked politely before continuing. "Alright now where was I? Oh yes... I'm with the council and we would really like you two and your friend here to feel welcome so long as you stop causing more havoc than normal. So is there anything I can do for you?" He asked although the fact that he had his hands on both grips of his swords made it clear he was ready and prepared to attack despite his words. He was hoping that they would go along with this and that things could be handled without violence but if not then he was ready for a fight. Leander turned to the new arrival, hearing him shout at him. He was curious what the man wanted since something about him screamed offical even if he looked like a wreck. The mans brown leather boots and clothes were old were and moth eaten, his grey bear long and wild, and a bandana tied around his head. What made him stand out however other than the commanding voice and presence were those eyes and the twin swords which were made of the same material he had once used. They told that this wasn't just some random man but that he had once been pretty important. Listening to the man Leander nodded, naively completely trusting the man and seeing this as a great opportunity. "Well we were just going to train here. But I do need a few things, such as a boat, a crew, and i'd like to sell some less than legal items here which i'd be willing to give you a cut if you helped with that." He said happily, even smiling. Leander felt like he had no reason to mistrust the old guy even reaching out his hand for the old man to shake. Everything the council member had said had made sense to him. Plus Leander was on a power high right now so the fact that this guy had come over to bow to their feet so that they wouldn't destroy his precious island only confirmed how powerful and famous they were. He was really starting to like this island. He had completely forgotten Haru now that he was once the center of attention again. |

“Learn haki?” asked Ray Ray in response to Leander, “Naw, cuz. Naw. That's you and Urahuru's thing. Don't let me get in the way.” he said in an unconvincing voice as he began drawing circles in the dirt below him with a bladed finger. Suddenly, Ray Ray looked up as he heard and saw Kamina fall to the ground with his peripheral vision. “The hell?” questioned Ray Ray as his dead-pan face stared at his new fallen friend. “I thought this guy was supposed to be strong?” thought Ray Ray as he continued to stare at the scene like a deer in the headlights. Eventually another, older man came along and quickly tried to diffuse the situation. Ray Ray just chuckled as the man who assaulted Kamina ran away, leaving a liquid trail behind him. The way the man spoke, made Ray Ray feel left out once again. It was always about the deadly duo, Leander and Kamina. Ray Ray was nothing more than someone who accompanied them, and that's the only reason he was getting any recognition at all. “Always the brides maid, but never the bride.” whimpered Ray Ray with a big sigh. Suddenly, Ray Ray became very excited as the older man directed the conversation toward him for a split second. “Son” he said as he looked at Ray Ray. “Yes? Yes? What is it? Yes?” quickly replied Ray Ray like an excited puppy. “will you stop cutting up my island?” finally asked the man before casually returning to his normal conversation with Leander. Needless to say, Ray Ray was a bit devastated that's all he was being recognized for; Havoc. Truly, it was chaos that Ray Ray was good at creating, but what was the point if nobody even knew his name. “Fine...” replied Ray Ray as he pouted once again. Getting up from his makeshift chair, he then brought one foot down upon it, flattening it out until it was a close enough fit to the ground as before. “Happy?” he asked as he headed over to start mending the light post. |

Kamina coughed, shaking his head slowly as he got up. It didn't take him long, and he tried his best not to look quite as bad as he felt. "I'd hate to break it to you, Hastings, but wouldn't I be able to hit that devil fruit user with my ranged attacks anyway?" He coughed, shaking his head slowly as he pocketed both of his hands. "But I suppose I can understand here you're coming from. Though, eheh, assuming I couldn't still fight that poison user close up is a bit of a mistake." He stretched his fingers meaninfully, the seastone on his hands actually reflecting a bit in the light. "Just because people have all these magically huge area of effect attacks, doesn't mean they still can't be hit in the face. Or grabbed. Suffice to say, I believe I can deal with just about anyone with enough information." He chuckled to himself as he watched the guy who hit him run away, smirking to himself as he flicked his hand forward, quickly, a small object flying through the air and hitting the man on the back of the head; a pebble, which knocked the guy out without any trouble, aimed to hit him as he was moving on his path, rather than dirctly aiming for him. "And I don't need much." His hand was placed back into his pocket, and he turned his eyes upon the old man that had stepped up. His eyes fell upon the man's hands, which were wrapped around his blade. "I see, council you say." He gave his friend, the smokey one, a quick, meaningful gaze, before looking back at this man. For all the time he spent with him, he was aware how arrogant he could get. He was probably thnking that nobody would dare try and trick them, just because they happened to be stronger than the average bear. "Sorry, but I don't really trust strangers. Hell, I don't even trust some of my allies." He smirked, looking over at Leander. "But you can take your hands off of those blades, friend. I don't have any intention to cause any trouble. As far as I'm concerned, you don't start nothin' won't be nothin'." Yawning, Kamina crossed his arms in front of him, sighing to himself. It didn't seem like today was going to go any better than what his days normally did, though that didn't exactly surprise him. He was a man with a rather large bounty on his head, who constantly needed to watch his back, lest someone turn him in for all that he was worth to the world government. No, he didn't think that Leander would do that sort of thing to him for what he was worth now. The guy was more likely to wait until he had a lot more stake to head for his goals. Becoming a shichibukai like Izuru, no less. Kamina turned to Ray Ray, sighing to himself. It didn't seem like he cared much about the situation, until he saw that bit of disappointment in the guys eyes. And then he remembered what the pink haired one said while he was on the ground. "Strong? Eh, some people say I am, sure, but I've actually seen strength. You know, sometimes, things aren't quite what they appear. Or, rather, the way they want to appear." He looked on at the council member again, gritting his teeth. He really didn't need someone to try betraying him today. But, for right now, he was tired, and willing to actually sit and rest. He'd play this man's game, whatever it was, but only long enough to see what he was after. The black male smiled, shaking his head slowly as he looked over the guy; he was strong, much stronger than the theives that ran around the streets on a daily basis. It was as interesting as it was funny, really. In a monotone voice, Kamina smiled before speakng. "Take me to your leader." And with that, he clapped the smoke man on the back, nodding towards the old man. "May as well get this done now, eh? I don't really have anything better to do I suppose. And I'd really like to finish up rather quickly here, if you don't mind." |

"Thanks son." McGilly said before spitting on the ground offering a pat on the back to the scissor man before easily relaxing himself now that the most present danger was over McGilly eased his hands off his swords and grinned at Kamina, the youngster had a sharp wit about him. He wouldn't be easy to fool but the other rookie seemed to be rather over eager with everything to the point of stupidity. The old rogue barely had time to remember everything the guy had said. Fortunately it seemed to be that if he appeared to cooperate with whatever Hastings had in mind things would be fine for everyone involved. Once Hastings was off this island he'd probably never see or hear from the man again so it wouldn't be his concern after that. His main goal now seemed to be to get these three off this island and keep them happy during their time here. He hated when people of this level of strength showed up on the island. It didn't happen much, maybe once a year if even that but when it did it gave him a uneasy feeling. Rowe Rowe was his home and entire life. He had helped build the island up to where it was now a fun haven for the dredges of society like him. He hated feeling helpless to guard his island against dangers especially after he had sailed all over the first half of the grandline and was a trained veteran of war. "Why certainly lads. Let's get moving shall we. I'll introduce you to the other council members and see about getting you all a ship. You mentioned needing one didn't you Heartless? The crew you'll have to get yourself Gehehe. Its best that way anyhow, a man has to know the ones under him are hand picked and reliable." He said very friendly, even smiling widely and laughing before walking off back the way he came. His hand waving backwards he signaled them to follow behind him. Leander was perhaps the most happy he had been in a long time. he was nearly bouncing on the balls of his feet in eagerness. Everything was falling into place perfectly for him and there were no signs of getting fucked coming yet. Usually something horrible happened every place he visited prompting a beating for him. It had become a vicious cycle and it was nice for once to actually feel powerful. Of course ironically those horrible situations were what had actually made him become as strong as he was he realized. "Come on guys lets go. Drinks are on me. You too Ray Ray. I'm getting you drunk tonight and then we're heading out tomorrow." Leander shouted to the others smiling happily and clapping them on the backs. "Yeah I did. Thanks for that. Whats your name anyway?" Leander hadn't heard the man mention it and was curious now as he followed behind. The old guy seemed experienced as Leander hadn't even noticed the man was ready for a fight until Kamina had pointed it out. Leander also had to admit Kamina was right about being able to fight in ranged combat against the doku user but still the point remained that some fruits were incredibly difficult to fight against if you didn't have haki. Obviously however this old guy had once been someone important as a pirate as he was part of the council here which was a pirate town and pirates only respected power. Without even turning around the old rogue replied back "Jack 'Double Death' McGilly. But everyone calls me McGilly or Gills for short nowadays." Leander was curious about this guy who was on the council and luckily without any prompting necessary the man went on further about himself. "Back when I was the full blown first mate of the Green Pirates I had a bounty of 68,000,000. Its a pretty respectable amount i'd say. Anyway thats all in the past and i'd rather not talk about it too much. Bad memories you know?" Leander nodded though the urge to ask more about the guy bugged him incessantly especially the cryptic part about having bad memories. This guy was a pretty big and interesting mystery for sure. It seemed obvious to him that McGilly had lived an interesting life on the seas and wasn't just any average pirate although he doubted the man was anywhere near his or Kamina's strength. He could only wonder what haunted this man as he followed him through town toward a rather large building made of wood but obviously kept in much better shape than the other rundown places here. |

Kamina blinked, looking on at the old man appraisingly. He didn’t seem too bothered by the fact that he was dealing with a duo of supernovas and another devil fruit user who clearly had a lot of power, but there was still something in the way he acted. Certain mannerisms. He didn’t know what it was, but perhaps it was more likely that it was surprise. Even so, the fact that he came by himself and was ready to fight them meant that he must have had quite a bit of power. Or, perhaps, he was seasoned enough in a fight to try and strategize around any strength difference between him and his potential foe’s; it was nothing short of impressive, really, but only if that assumption was correct. That was a worry in and of itself, and, as a personal code of dealing with people, and the day in general, he always felt it a good idea to keep his guard up as high as possible, his eyes and senses honed, his eyes darting around the area; if anything tried to sneak up on them, he’d probably be the first to know. A quick glance at the town said that it lived up to its reputation of being untamed. Buildings were in ruin, litter thrown everywhere, from beer bottles to other filth. It was a sight to behold, but one thing that caught the man’s eyes were, at all times, people ducked into alleyways, in buildings, through windows and otherwise, and into other spots to stay out of sight. Honestly, the smith couldn’t tell whether they were doing this because of him and his allies, or because of the old man; maybe both. A dog seemed to be barking nearby, with a man kneeling next to it in an ally, trying to hush it to be quiet. A few children covered in rags, one holding a knife in his hand, looked at them with a grin that was missing far more teeth that it should have, waving his weapon before a ragged woman scooped him up and carried him inside. It was tragic, to say the least, and everyone seemed to be too caught up in themselves to notice these little bits of the town. As the martial artist walked, he sighed to himself, his muscles already tensed to act quickly and efficiently to what would progress. Of course he was nervous. While his smoky friend didn’t have the same level of wariness for something bad happening, Kamina couldn’t help but feel a place full of criminals that often had big named criminals coming there was a problem in and of itself. It was a place where they released wild animals into the streets to ‘clean up messes’. Now they were following this stranger towards some building that he said was where the council of this island was supposed to be. This was a place so dangerous that Kamina didn’t even know what Leander was really thinking. In fact, he didn’t even know what he was thinking. As they approached a building that looked far better than the others, Kamina knew that they were at the place the Gills told them about. As the reached it, the smith held up a hand, looking at the old one with obvious intent. ”Sorry, I’m not going in." He said it calmly, eyeing the man for anything odd; for any sort of indication that a plan had fallen through. ”And if Smoky here was smart, he’d probably do the same. I have no illusions that, with enough planning, I can be dealt with just as any other man. I don’t trust people, and you’ve yet to gain any of that.” He paused, letting that sink in, searching the man’s face. ”You keep telling us who you are, but how can we prove that? Asking? No, if you’re lying to us you no doubt have power; wouldn’t be hard to give a man on the street a threatening stare. For all we know that building is just a place where we’ll get ambushed. For all we know you have plenty of people in there that can handle us.” He sighed, shaking his head slowly. ”Or you could be telling the truth about who you are and the rest could still be said.” A bright smile was on Kamina’s face then. ”You want an audience, tell the others to step out in the open.” Edited by SvenFold, Nov 20 2013, 05:18 PM.

Leander and McGilly both paused as they heard Kamina speaking. Leander had to let out an inward sigh as he turned to face his friend. He knew Kamina did have a point however he thought the man was being extremely paranoid right now. "What is the worst that could happen?" he spoke to the dark skinned male. "I believe you're over thinking this Super Kami Guru just come on." rolling his eyes even. They were the most powerful people here and their guide had given him no reason to doubt his sincerity. McGilly on the other hand while offended at first began to respect the man's hesitance. If he had thought an ambush would work he would have done just exactly that. As it stood however against the three of these men an ambush had very little chances of working to any level that they could hope for a victory even with a sneak attack. It seemed best to him then to simply pacify these visitors. Placing his hand on Leander's shoulder before it sunk through as Leander realized what the man was doing, "Nah he's right son. He has every right to be suspicious but I promise I just want to get you all off my island as fast as possible. All of you are a threat to this place and it makes me feel uneasy." He figured honesty and simply telling Kamina the truth would best get the man compliant though from what he saw Kamina didn't seem very dangerous to the island. He reflected however on how his arm had went through Leander. He was certain he had used haki to hold the man as he was a known logia user. The fact that his arm had still passed through was strange. Perhaps he was going senile he thought as Leander's arm became solid once more, leaving it's smoke form. Leander turned to glare at the man, he hadn't known that McGilly would touch him and he didn't really like people touching him without his consent but he was willing to forgive it. "So Kamina is that enough for you? How about you Ray Ray? Or does anyone else get a bad feeling?" |

Taking both the men's silence as answers in themselves Leander and McGilly continued on although now that Leander thought about it, Kamina's warning seemed oddly valid. But who would be dumb enough to backstab him at this point other than a very small group of people. There weren't many people in the grandline as strong as he was, he'd accelerated beyond the norm far faster than anticipated due to all his struggles. He assumed McGilly would understand how disastrous trying to plan a trap on the three of them would be. This is all stupid Leander thought to himself as he shook his head in annoyance. Kamina had gotten him just as paranoid, there really was no point in even thinking this long and hard about it. Continuing on Leander and McGilly entered what appeared be a simple Saloon but according to McGilly it also doubled as the meeting grounds of the council as all of them were alcoholics. Interestingly enough this kind of life didn't sound so bad. Get drunk, have power, and just be general badasses of badass island. It sounded pretty sweet but Leander wasn't ready to retire yet at all. Maybe in a hundred years perhaps he'd think about it. There were 5 of them all together including his tour guide, each seemed like they had once been skilled pirates in their day and could hold their own against most people who came to this island. There was an eerie silence as Leander and the men of the council seemed to stare down each other, accessing one another. Leander was the first to speak up as he didn't have the patience to stay silent much longer. "So yeah i'm Leander Hastings... or Heartless Hastings. McGilly here told me all of you basically want me out of your hair as soon as possible and are willing to make my stay here very comfortable in return. I'm completely fine with that." There was an audible sigh of relief from the men although they still seemed tense as whether they were unsure to believe him. It was reasonable to mistrust him and it made great sense to him, they were all pirates after all, so he was not in the least bit offended. Their suspicions were raised again as soon as he opened his mouth to speak once more. "Also he mentioned about all of you helping me with getting a ship. And while I didn't mention it before I would greatly appreciate a little help with something on the side." One of the council, a bear of a man with dark grey hair hair and a large bushy grey beard shove himself up "How dare you act as if you can order us around!" Leander as the man had reacted tensed up his eyes twisting into a glare as smoke poured off himself, ready to strike down this nuisance. "How dare I?!" He had been polite so far but everyone had a line and his was about to be crossed. "Calm down everyone." Mcgilly spoke up, gently but firmly pushing the council member who spoke up angrily. "What is it you want son?" Leander although his temper was still high no longer was in a combative state and the smoke he was producing seemed to disappear into the air. "I want to start up a business... an illegal one. And this would be the perfect island to start. I'm going to start by selling drugs... rather harmless ones that just make the user extremely happy and complacent. I call it bliss and i'm the only man in the world who makes it. I think about 30,000 per capsule would be sufficient and i'd obviously give you guys a cut... about 30% sound good? I'm being pretty generous in my opinion. I have 100 pills on me right now if you're willing." Leander by the end of it all was talking at lightspeed, so fast the others had to take a moment to realize what he had said. Grinning idiotically Leander was extremely happy to say the least, he was finally making his plans a reality and this was the first big step. Once again the council member who had been so angry before jumped up ready to start a fight again it seemed although Gilly pressed his hand on him and roughly this time shoved him back down. "That seems... tempting. Although the idea of drugging our civilians seems a rather bad idea. If the marines came here unexpectedly and we were too happy to care we'd all wind up in impel down." "No you see. You have pirates come here all the time and you would sell it to them. That's the beauty of it. Because then you're fine, making a profit off these passerbys, and the word of Bliss gets out far and wide drawing in more profits for me and you. Don't you agree this could work?" McGilly had to give it to him, this may have been the first actually intelligent thing Leander had said so far. "Alright... we'll think about it. For now though drink to your content and have fun. We will discuss this as well as the prospect of getting you a ship while you celebrate your stay here." Leander although he wanted to talk to them more about it to make sure his deal was secure thought that it was perhaps a bad idea to do that and instead went back upstairs to the bar area, ordering a bottle of rum to start out with. There was nothing to worry about anyway. That silver tongued bastard, McGilly was on his side. He'd get them to see that this was a great idea. Edited by Darkhunter, Dec 6 2013, 01:51 AM.

Downstairs the council sat together. The only bald member of the council, who wore a suit and tie which completely seemed at odds with the sinister tribal tattoos going over his tanned head and face was the first of them to speak up. "So what did all of you think?" The grey bearded man full of anger which hadn't seemed yet to fade away was the first to speak... or well more like shout. "What did I think?! He's a pompous brat who we should just kill and toss to the marines when we're done." A thin mustached man with a thick french accent rolled his eyes while idly waving his sword around in the air. He was obviously the youngest of the group as he showed little sign of aging, possibly in his 40s or 50s. He had long flowing blonde hair and electric blue eyes and dressed as in thin silk white robes and brown leather pants "You are an overaggressive buffoon Captain Bart. In what way did he show any hint of being pompous? He didn't exactly have good manners when addressing his elders however I didn't get any sense that he was looking down on us. Plus I admit I am fond of his idea. We always could fill our pockets a little heavier with beli. What about you Gills?" With a wicked grin Gills smiled "Yeah I agree with you captain Luda, to an extent of course. You see my plan is that we sell the drugs for 5 times the price keep the profit and by the time he will suspect anything he'll be in the Florian triangle. The odds of any crew escaping there are unnerving, especially in the last couple years. If by some luck he finds out we screwed him over we kill him. I mostly just want that money. Its not much really but it'll make us happy men for a year of drinking. His little plan will fail anyway. To dominate the underground market he'd have to step on so many toes he'd be dead before the new world. He's a cocky logia who probably got his bounty for causing destruction and killing marines. In the worst case scenario we have plausible deniability that it could have been stolen. He's leaving us here with it and the beli could easily have been stolen in the mail or something. We tell him someone else did it and we get to start over again and maybe be a little more careful. He seems gullible in my opinion." Snorting at McGilly's long winded plan Bart folded his arms over his chest. That bastard always thought he was so clever with his plans. And Luda was just some snob who without his devil fruit couldn't last 2 seconds against him. None of them were actual warriors. At least McGilly however wasn't so soft as to let arrogant pups roam free so he conceded to the man nodding. Luda looked apprehensive about it but nodded, speaking softly "fine by me." The only one who hadn't spoken, a man who looked actually the oldest among them, thin and gaunt, with shaking hands he shook his head. "No I can't agree to this. It seems a foolish endeavor. I felt something in that man and I think you're underestimating him. If things go badly we'll all be in real danger." Bart annoyed with this waste of space old man shouted loudly "Oh fuck! The mummy speaks again! Go die already old man! You're useless here! You haven't been in a fight in over 30 years. If it weren't for the old days you wouldn't be here at all right now." "Bart shut up." The bald, tattooed man replied, calmly but with great authority. "Yes captain Barbossa." Bart said, even bowing his head humbly in response. "Captain Bali. While what Bart said is harsh it is true that you've always been known to be overly worried about things. However you have the most powerful observation haki so I generally listen to you when you profess true fear. However I must agree that juging by what I saw of that young man I believe McGilly may be onto something. With that we may be dismissed as it is 4 to 1 in favor of captain Gills." Nodding his head shaking toward his old friend in respect the frail old man, once known as captain Bali nodded his head in respect to captain Barbossa. As the men get up it becomes obvious that for whatever reason, perhaps simply to mark their favorite seats at the council table their bounties were pinned to the wooden chairs. They were all obviously old posters as all of the men in them looked much younger than they did now. Each read as follows "'Master Escapist' Bali: 52,300,000beli", "Bart 'The Gladiator' Cambro: 77,000,000 beli", "'Sunshine' Luda Mier: 92,000,000 beli", "Jack 'Double Death' McGilly: 68,000,000 beli", "'Devil Fruit Punisher' Barbossa: 84,000,000 beli". note Leander had drank a lot by the time the men were finished talking. He hadn't had a good taste of alchohol in so long that he was nearly drunk after half the first bottle. He had been the butt of many jokes so far and had ended up causing a rather big scene that had drawn a large crowd now which were busy yelling in joy and having drinking contests with each other. rising up to stand onto of the bar stand Leander, shirt torn open with a bottle of rum in his hand, hefted up the bottle up in the air like a trophy shouting out. "Are you not entertained?!?!" Shouting their approval the crowd cheered him on before laughing their asses off as he fell face first to the ground, the alchohol clouding even his logia reflexes. "Ooow" Leander moaned into the wood planks he laid on. Sighing in disgust McGilly had witnessed the entire ending of Leander's little party and approached the man. "Well while you go about with your little party I'll go ahead and get purchase your ship." Reaching down McGilly fiddled around in Leander's pockets before grabbing a large wad of beli. "Thank you sir." Leander said sleepily before finally passing out. |

Waking up in bed with a pounding headache was not a fun experience at all. Actually this wasn't even his bed and he had no idea how he had gotten here or what he had done last night. While in his younger days this was more of a common experience, often a woman or two attached to him despite no real attraction to either gender while he was sober, this hadn't happened to him in a long time. "Ugh what the hell?" he groaned as he rubbed his throbbing head. Looking down he noticed someone had even changed his clothes. Yeah... this was likely going to be a long and embarrassing story. He could only imagine what had happened last night. barefoot he got up out of bed in plaid flannel pants and a grey t-shirt with blue boxing gloves on the front. All his stuff oddly hadn't been stolen he realized gratefully as he looked at the cabinet and saw most of his beli, his bag of drugs and other items all on top of it. There was also a note he noticed. Picking it up he looked at it reading it out loud. 'Meet me at the docks as soon as you wake up. Yuffie~' "Who the hell is Yuffie?" he asked of no one in particular, both annoyed by his lack of memory and no clues at all in the letter about anything. Still he felt like he owe whoever this person was, most likely a woman by the name so after grabbing his stuff and straightening his hair he made his way down to the docks... barefoot as she had obviously forgotten to give him shoes. Once there he was in awe completely. Before him was a massive ship with many cannons, clearly a ship designed for war and on it were more men than he could count at the moment all lugging crates on it. McGilly and a woman stood side by side together in front of his ship, smiling as he approached. "Ah my boy! There you are. Must have been a rough night. If it weren't for this lovely lass your ass would have been grass. Gehehehe. She picked you up from the bar last night after you passed out drunk, vomited on yourself, and tried to strip while laying on the tavern floor in your puke. She then took you to her place to sleep it off." Leander hated to hear this story but it seemed the opposite for McGilly who couldn't stop smiling and laughing at his discomfort. The girl who he turned to look at so he could thank appreciatively was much harder to read, actually she didn't even look like she liked him much from her expression. He couldn't blame her much for her annoyance if he really was that bad last night and she had gone out of her way to help him. "Listen... i'm sorry about all that. Is there anything I can do?" Looking at him her expression softened for but a moment as if she wanted to laugh at him as well but it then reverted back to its hard neutral form. "You looked like an idiot. Just don't make a habit of it. I only did that because I know who you are and I want to join you... you're the best doctor there is out there whom isn't under the wg's influence. I was wondering if you could teach me." Leander couldn't have been more surprised if she had announced that she was the daughter of a noble. While in the back of his mind Leander knew he was a talented doctor, he had no idea he was that good that he would have gotten public recognition for it or anything or even that he was one of the best there was. Holy crap. Well that was a great ego boost in the morning. Recovering from his shock quickly Leander grinned broadly, even buffing out his chest. "So I'm guessing you're trying to get into the medical field and they won't let you for whatever reason. Well i'm Leander and i'd love to have you in my crew... if of course you can handle it. If not you can avoid any combat situation and just hide out when that happens." Leander had taken one look at her she knew and judged her to be weak, her urge to slap him was quickly rising but she pushed it down and simply glared at him underneath her glasses. "I can handle myself just fine. I'm a zoan user and my specialty is natural base poisions and chemical research." McGilly letting out a yawn which drew both of their attentions stretched his arms out wide. "Well while its cute watching you two have a lover's quarrel. I have things to do, like releasing the new shipment of wild animals into the city. Leander this ship and these men are you crew if you want them. I took the liberty of getting both since you were far too drunk to do it yourself last night. Its 125 men plus your girlfriend here." "I am not his girlfriend!" Yuffie yelled indignantly. "Yes i'm sure you aren't. Its obvious you two are going to build a cliche'd tsundere relationship. But anyway if you could hand me the Bliss I can get started with that as well. your beli will arrive as soon as we sell it all. Is that okay with you?" Leander was too shocked by the outrageous idea that him and this girl he just met were apparently destined to be together intimately that he had no idea what to say. "Um... yeah sure." blinking his eyes a few times as McGilly held out his hand Leander quickly caught on "oh oh yeah." pulling out the package of blue capsules and putting them in McGilly's hand. As McGilly walked away whistling Leander turned back to Yuffie and laughed "Kehehe Well that was... interesting. So I guess this is my crew now. Wow it feels pretty surreal you know?" "Yeah... I understand sorta. I never thought I'd be able to really learn medicine... for real you know? I never got the official approval for some reason even though I was one of the top student in my hometown. So what exactly did you give him anyway? I remember pulling that package out of your pants earlier. It looked like a drug of some kind." Leander frowned at her story as he could tell by how she looked down at the ground while speaking and held herself that it seemed to hurt her a lot knowing they had rejected her. It made him really want to help her become a real doctor although he had to admit she must have been really desperate to come to him. His empathy however only lasted for so long as quickly he was proud of his new accomplishments, grinning even. "Thats because it was a drug. A new type I developed. No negatives to it at all it just makes the user extremely happy and is somewhat addictive due to people enjoying being happy whenever they feel like it. I call it bliss." Glaring at him she stopped her foot in anger. "You're a drug dealer! Ugh! I can't believe you!" Rushing off over the plank and onto his ship Leander just stared in disbelief at Yuffie. What was wrong with this woman? Did she expect him to be a saint with a 320,000,000 beli bounty? |

Leander rushing onto the ship shouted down the halls as he explored his new ship. Kaimina and Ray Ray had probably already boarded and gotten ready while he was gone. McGilly would have told them first thing and taken them to the ship he was sure. As he explored more and more however, shouting their names it became clear that they weren't on which was strange. Puzzled he exited the lower decks and went stood on the top deck looking out as if he thought he could spot them from this far away on the island. "Where in the hell could they be?" It wasn't often he was this excited and their lack of presence was kinda killing his joy. He wanted to sail off with his new crew as soon as possible and get started. He could feel the pulse tingling in his blood to set sail already. He thought they would be just as excited as he was. After waiting awhile he grew impatient and decided to hunt for them personally. He didn't want to leave without them. The longer he searched however and was unable to find them the more depressed he got about it all. Perhaps they had left without him. He had thought Kamina and him were friends and Ray Ray had been so enthusiastic about joining that it hurt him a little in a way that he'd never admit to that they weren't here for him. Sighing as he floated above the island with the sun setting, he finally gave up on his search for them and flew back to his ship morosely in a mass of smoke. Reforming on the deck of his ship with a few men chatting as they waited for him Leander's shoulder's sagged before a hard steely focus entered his eyes. His back straightening as his hands clenched. "Alright men! Get to work! Hoist the anchors! Raise the sails! Raise the Mast! Raise the flag! Screw it, raise every damn thing cause we're going the the sea train zone!" Shouting out to his men they roared back their approval quickly getting to work as he took the wheel and guided the ship out as they worked everything else. He had no time to worry about who was his friend and who wasn't, he was captain Leander Hastings and he wasn't given the name Heartless for being an overly sensitive old woman.
