His mind in the end just began to tune out the idle and mindless chatter of his crewmates, his senses remained very open though, he was just drowning out those specific voices by focusing more on everything else. Why he had been put in charge of guarding these people was beyond him, if he had his choice he would have gone out with Claire and Zei but now he was instead playing babysitter to a pervert, a crazed fishwoman and someone who was supposed to be regular but seemed to have devolved to match the rest of the madness of the crew. A charging man coming out of the jungle though did not escape Hunter's attention, the charge was much faster than Hunter had ever seen someone move, yet still with the distance the man was coming from he had time to move quite easily and refocus himself to allow his hearing of the rest of the crew back in. Hunter grabbed Leon and threw him out of the way, supposing that with his stupidity he wouldn't be able to dodge at all, Akemi and Danielle though he was fairly sure could manage that simple maneuver for themselves meaning he shouldn't have to help. Hunter then decided to take a risk, he stood right in the way of the charging human, planting his feet slightly to the side and holding his spear towards the man at a 45 degree angle, if things went properly then the attacker would be instantly impaled on the spear, though he doubted they would go well so he placed himself just to the side of the charge with the spear in it's path to help him move if he needed to. |

At Dani’s blunt response, all Akemi could do for a moment was blink a bit as her friend went about doing something on the beach – for some odd reason she was gathering the sand into a pile. Maybe it was a mermaid thing? There were a lot of customs she wasn’t exactly aware of too, who knew? But more to the main point, she had no real reason to doubt Dani which meant that she’d get to see what the big deal was about marriages after all! Maybe she’d find out just what happened at the end of all those books and then there was the parties, ooh she liked the parties. She’d need to do something about Dani’s desire for a house though. Akemi wasn’t sure if Dani fully understood that humans couldn’t really breathe underwater (although with all the odd things she’d seen lately, it wouldn’t surprise her at all if there was some way to get around that problem) but she did seem pretty determined about that cottage of hers and while Akemi cared for the mermaid dearly, she was also well aware that Dani’s excitement didn’t necessarily translate to ability to get things done properly. But then that was where she came in as her knight. And while she was on that subject, there was that sudden yell to deal with. She was surprised that there were other people on this prehistoric island – this place seemed to be surprisingly popular for such a very dangerous place uninhabited by any sentient life – and on top of it, he looked like an average teenager, walking around without fear. And for some odd reason he was charging at their boat and yelling up a storm. So many odd people out there. And now Dani was getting into the yelling game as well, managing to completely outstrip the teen in volume. She knew that this wasn’t any kind of normal greeting; she’d have literally heard about it if that was the case. And what was that about a cottage? Wait, was this because of the lump of sand? Well if it was the beginnings of a wall or maybe gathering sand to try to plant a tree? Akemi wasn’t sure but she didn’t particularly enjoy having her friend crying so she needed to do some cheering up. “How about we wait until later to build any cottages Dani? Or maybe just make this ship into one, that way we can take our house with us when we travel!” She did still have a world to see after all, and it would make it so much more convenient to keep all of her outfits on her, and materials to make new ones when she got new ideas too. Oh, there was still that charging person. She looked out to the beach and threw her voice in a way that didn’t involve needing to yell (nobles didn’t yell without reason and she found the noise bothersome anyway) “Excuse me sir, why are you trying to charge a boat? And who are you?” Hopefully not someone potentially insane and dangerous given that Mr Akame and Miss LePue weren’t here right now – although with all that shouting that may not be the case for long. |

Claire’s blood froze, things had been going well, and she looked like she was going to be able to avoid an altercation all together. They seemed to have been heavily sacked in the New World Based on Billy’s comment and were likely in dire straits. In most cases after having their entire crew wiped out they give up on hopes of being a pirate any further. This was the ideal situation; Claire had no desire to fight with pirates who had given up. It was all going to end peacefully until their boss showed up like a mother goose protecting it’s young puffing out his chest and leveling imposing threats. He was a massive hulk of a man, or was rather; now his body looked more like scrap metal than that of a man. While his visage was unrecognizable one didn’t need to be a genius to figure his identity. This was none other than Bosque Mar, AKA Redskin. He was the famous super rookie who had recently led his crew into the New World. While his body appeared to be in dire state o disrepair she was not confident in her abilities. She could tell he was significantly stronger than both her and Zei, if they tried to fight they’d likely be wiped out along with the crew. Not to mention he was here simply to protect his crew. He spoke and asked her to identify herself. She’d have one chance to try and calm this raging beast down and avoid an altercation. She’d have to choose her words very carefully now. She held her hands in the air at her sides to indicate she was not drawing or motioning for her weapons. “Yes I understand. My name is Sister Claire LePue III, I am a bounty hunter who hails from Greensland in the North Blue. I recently traveled to the grand line chasing after a dangerous quarry in the Chess Pirates. After facing them down in Cactus Island I just managed to escape and treat my injuries. I departed and arrived here 1 week ago for isolation and solitary meditation and training hoping this uninhabited island would allow me the secluded respite that I may focus my thoughts in peace. It seems however that this would not be the case as not but a few days ago I ran across another small group of fledgling bounty hunters here with the same idea in mind lead by A mister Zei Akame. For the time being we decided to train together. IT was not but a few moments ago I introduced myself to your acquaintances. I recognize them and you as famous pirates. While I hold confidence in my abilities, I do not believe Zei nor do I have the capacity to defeat you in combat. In addition in the ensuing melee this whole island, as well as the other members of both our crews would likely get drawn into the crossfire. I desire not needless conflict so I propose the following. Allow us all to part on peaceful terms, you shall leave and we shall pursue and we shall vacate the island post haste and leave you to recover as you need. This way there is no unnecessary bloodshed on either side. If you agree I beg you to accompany us to the shoreline, judging from the scream I heard one of your crew must have run afoul of mine. If we are to prevent a full scale battle from occurring I believe we must make haste to that location together so as to prevent this misunderstanding from progressing any farther.” Claire said in a tense calm voice. She was trying as hard as she could to remain calm however the threat this man posed was far too great. If they were to escape successfully they’d need to do so on peaceful terms. Even in his wounded state she knew enough not to underestimate a pirate of his caliber. She lightly bowed her head to him as she spoke as to show she felt him no malice and to show him as much respect as she could muster. At the same time she had to remain on guard. He was a wounded man fighting for his comrade’s safety. She knew full well the strength that could be born from the desire to protect and out of desperation. |

Bosque Mar paused, unsure whether to believe them or not yet he found their unwillingness to fight drew credit to their story. Concentrating he used his senses fueled by observation haki to probe Claire and Zei's minds as she spoke and found truth in what she had said. So they weren't here to fight after all and were simply visitors on the island, bounty hunters to be exact, but smart enough to realize they were in way over their heads. Feeling their power he knew he was way over their league not that it mattered since they didn't wish to fight. It just made him feel a little bit safer. "Alright." He said, his voice sounding oddly robotic as his artificial voice box began acting up. With a cough and a quick pounding of his chest with his fist he fixed it as he began to speak once more, "Since neither of us cares to have a fight since we have more important things to protect, we'll both be on our way. I believe I scared my crew into going back to the ship so i'll be heading there." Focusing his observation haki to feel the life on the island he found that at least one of his member's Ray, if he wasn't mistaken, had in fact ran back to the ship however Billy had run toward what he presumed was the crew of these bounty hunters. With a shake of his head Bosque sighed deeply. "Sorry but i'll have to go take care of something. It would appear that kid of mine went a ran into trouble with your crew. I'll go grab him and leave." Turning around to leave the pirate captain decided to leave with one last word, turning back to face the female and her companion. "Do yourselves a favor though. If you see Big Top or his crew don't lie to them and don't fight them if you can help it. It'll only make things worse for yourself." Finished his dialogue with the two bounty hunters Bosque burst off with jet-like speed heading toward their ship. Billy dopily had managed to run over a sandcastle to his horror he discovered after hearing the shout of the girl. Instantly looking back he regretted what he had done, his face a grimace of sorrow. He had even forgotten mid-charge that he was suppose to be fighting them and ignored what was going on for a shabby attempt instead to rebuild what he had damaged, sloppily piling on sad after being reprimanded. "I'm... i'm sorry ma'am i'll fix it good." He tried apologizing while working. It was at that moment that Bosque Mar had chosen to arrive, falling from the sky to land with a crash on the ground in a kneeling position in front of Billy who was busy fixing up the sandcastle. "Um... hey sir. What're you doing here." "Um Billy... what are you doing?" "Oh just fixing up this sandcastle.""Um well alright then. We're leaving though so come on and lets get out of here." "Oh alright." Billy said standing up. "Well bye guys. I guess we won't have to fight now." Grabbing the kid around the waist Bosque Mar once again burst back into flight from the jet dials within his body and made his way back to the ship. Later... The crew of bounty hunters would see in the distance after being alerted by a huge explosion, a large ship in the distance in flames as smoke filled the sky while the ship sunk beneath the sea. It appeared to be next to another ship which cast a multitude of songs, the harmony of which clashed horribly at this distance. The ship itself was slick black, giving off a myriad of colors like an oil spill, and on the front was a large red rubber ball more fitting for a Clown's nose than on a ship. |

Danielle was curled up into a ball on the floor, tears streaming from her eyes so much that it wouldn't have been a surprise if a lake formed beneath her. She had lost all hope, the home she had spent Snapping out of her distraught state remarkably quickly, the mermaid quickly wiped her eyes and blew her nose on Leon's shirt to get back into action. "Hey!" "That's it!" She exclaimed, attempting to snap her fingers as she did so but failing because she didn't actually know how. "We can have our cottage on a boat!" It was perfect, even more so than her beach house idea that just a minute ago she was convinced was just as flawless. A boat was as close to the ocean as anyone could get, and could also move around and go to different islands! What could be better than a house that saw a different view out of the window every day? Ignoring that Akemi was trying to start a conversation with brutish young boy who had wrecked the sand cottage, Dani leaped forward and wrapped her arms around the knight with an extremely pleased and joyful expression plastered to her. "You're the best Akemi~" In her happiness she had completely lost all antagonism she held towards the sandcottage-obliterator, even smiling and waving as he was carried away be his flying robot buddy. "Bye bye!" "So, who were they? I thought we were the only ones on this island." Leon asked, taking his top off because of Danielle's atrocities against it. He wasn't asking anyone in particular, but if he expected anyone to answer it was anyone save for the mermaid. Besides, she had already found something much more interesting. "Look! Claire's back!" She observed, waving at the approaching swordswoman. "Hey Claire, can we have a cottage on the ship?" |

Akemi didn’t really understand just how Dani could change moods so quickly. One moment she was making a fountain of tears on the deck and the next she was back to being her energetic and adorable self. She didn’t think that was very normal behaviour but then Dani wrapped her up in her arms again and Akemi stopped caring very much. “Eheheheheh……. Was it really that good?” While Akemi was steadily glowing red again the massive zoned out smile on her face said everything about how much she really minded the current situation. Yep, they were getting a cottage on this boat. She didn’t know how it was going to happen but she’d seen odder ship designs and if just the idea made Dani this happy, she wanted to see what would happen if she got the actual thing. In the end it was a very good thing that the entire situation with the kid resolved itself so handily given that Akemi was barely paying any attention to them. The kid stopped and went about trying to fix the sand wall (it would take a lot more distraction than what Dani was providing for her to actually believe that thing was any kind of sandcastle) and then – wait was that a robot? Really now? How many people were there on this island? “For a prehistoric island, a lot of people seem to be using it as a visiting spot. What odd tastes but then we’re here too….maybe this is really a secret vacation spot? There are people who supposedly like to, what do they call it, roughing it?” It did turn out to be an odd but harmless meeting at least. One more addition to her growing experience out in the world! That and the power of hugs, speaking of which, her source just vanished with the return of Miss LePue and Mr Akame, a harsh loss but something that she could rectify quickly enough. With everything dealt with, Akemi summarily wrapped her arms around Dani, not quite willing to give up her hugging source so quickly. That and she should return the favour and all with all the hugs she’d gotten already. Besides, she had engagement privileges. |

Claire breathed a sigh of relief as he seemed to understand her words and went off to collect his missing comrade. It was not a moment too soon because as soon as he flew away Zei had collapsed behind her. She turned around and looked at him, his skin was a bale yellow green. There was one other reason why people never came to this island aside from the giant monsters that inhabited it. But this island was a nesting ground for ancient diseases. She had non to fear as her light body would disintegrate any animals or insects that tried to spread the diseases by biting her but at some point Mister Zei must have been bitten and caught a deadly virus. She had to hurry. She scooped him under her arm and once she sw that the pirate had gathered his companion and flown off she burst forward while carrying Zei on her shoulders back to the ship. She was greeted by a happily waving Dani and a shirtless Leon and Miss Akemi. Claire landed on the deck of the ship and let Zei off her back and into her arms. “I am glad you are all safe, however we have not the time to rejoice. Mister Zei has fallen Ill, no doubt from a disease native to this ancient island. We must take him to get emergency medical assistance. Given our location if I recall correctly my old training master’s master resides on an isolated island not too far from this location. I believe I can guide us there and we might be granted an audience and the favor of having him treat mister Zei’s illness. We must make haste however if we are to save his life, every second counts. Hunter take the helm, I shall provide directions, Akemi and Dani I will need you to man the sails, Leon you are to watch for Zei’s condition in the med bay and tell me if it worsens. Keep his fever down with wet rags on his head and replace as needed.” Claire commanded taking control of the situation. She hoped she was not overstepping her bounds but even if she were this was all necessary to save Zei’s life. The ship set of and in the distance she heard a tremendous explosion followed by the smoke of a sinking ship. She froze; she had a sinking feeling that ship belonged to Bosque Mar and that it was Big Top’s ship that had sunk theirs. She was thankful they had barely managed to escape that nasty conflict. He had seemed like a reasonable fellow, at least as far as pirates go however he was a pirate none the less and this was but proof of the danger of those who dare to raise the black flag. Claire placed her hands together closed her eyes and allowed herself the moment to say a brief prayer. “Oh god in heaven, forgive the transgressions of those who have fallen, may their earthly sins be cleansed and allow their souls their due judgment, for better or worse, amen.” Claire said silently to herself before focusing back on the task at hand. Pushing her internal conflicting views aside she focused her attention on guiding them to a port that would allow them to save Zei’s life. |

Zei: 6 SD and 3,000,000 Hunter: 6 SD and 3,300,000 Dani: 8 SD and 4,000,000 Claire: 12 SD and 6,000,000 Akemi: 10 SD and 5,000,000 Zei I could have penalized for being unable to finish the sl but I just couldn't manage to bring myself to kick a dying man after Nami cheered me up. also was bribed with help moving to sweden. couldn't be arsed to come up with anything good for treasure hunter so give me a couple days to think about it. This sl I don't need to really go into detail about how disappointed I am. I was actually somewhat excited to do this. For his rare hunter prize Hunter gets a large glass jar of dirt. It doesn't seem to be anything special but something tells you it's important somehow. On the lid is attached a note. "When the time comes, you will know." Edited by Darkhunter, Oct 7 2014, 08:19 AM.
