Travel at sea was semi new for Lurren. The gunner was always content to stay on her homeland...until she couldn't anymore. Lately, she seems to spend more time at sea rather then on any land. She didn't get seasick or anything but it wasn't a life she was used to. It wasn't like she had a lot of options though.

Her first trip with the Dauntless pirates was an entertaining one if nothing else. She was never bored and managed to pitch in and help around the ship. The pirates probably felt that she was a bit guarded and tight lipped but she wasn't comfortable talking about her past. If they thought less of her for being secretive, they didn't show it. It they did, she had no one to blame but herself. It wasn't that she wanted to alienate herself, so she decided that the next island she should at least make an effort to be a bit more sociable.

The mellow winds of the South Blue cooperated well with their trip, completing their transition from Amerigo to another new island. Lurren didn't know the island's identity but a navigator familiar with South Blue would recognize the swarm of peach trees dominating the coast as a sign of Awestralia. The weather seemed fair and stable as a slight breeze rippled the peach trees along the coast.

A dock of sorts seemed to be in order on the western shores but it wasn't attached to any kind of city or settlement. Instead, only a single building stood watch of the overly sized dockyard. It would seem that someone was in the small cottage as puffs of smoke were coming out of a chimney. There seemed to be some paths leading between the peaches behind the cottage but they would either need to find somewhere else to dock or confront the man that was standing in the doorway of the cottage watching their ship.

He was a younger man by the looks of it. Perhaps mid twenties but he looked troubled when looking at the pirate ship that was out at sea. He wasn't wearing a shirt but he did have a sash drawn down over his shoulder. Simply slacks with flared out bottoms was his pants and a pair of white sneakers adorned his feet. The sash appeared to be holding a ridiculously enormous sword strapped to his back. His hand was nervously playing with a cord that would likely release the blade into his hands. It didn't seem likely he could wield that blade but it seemed he was preparing to use it all the same.

"He doesn' look too happy ta see us."

It was just a general statement to anyone nearby as Lurren eyed the young man. She could see a mountain range in the distance and wondered if there might be an alternate location to dock the ship. She knew they were running low of food and a few other things. Those peach trees looked mighty tasty to her. There was also the issue with the injured guy they picked up in South Amerigo. He needed some help from a real doctor, she didn't think ducktape and sailcloth was a good method of healing him.

It would all come down to the captain's orders on what happened next. There was likely some form of civilization here as Lurren could make out some well kept paths going through the peach tree forest but until they found it there was no telling how big a settlement was here. There was also something...familiar about the island but Lurren couldn't quite place her finger on it as she's never been here before.

Once again they had been at sea, and now the boat was getting pretty crowded, often Jay was taking his sleeping to the day time when people were up and about so he could find somewhere to lie down in peace. There was something about sleeping near someone that put him off actually sleeping, and now with the addition of three people he didn’t really know just made him a bit more cautious, especially as the little blonde canary bird and he had a little tiff on their previous endeavour. The sea had been calm for the most part, and when he was awake he was helping with the ship, his superior strength allowing him to bring sails up, or down, or move what little supplies they had around. His stash of apples keeping him going for the most part, seeing as food was getting low, luckily people didn’t wholly see the point in eating the apples, unless they got really hungry, as in theory they wouldn’t fill a person up much, but they did the trick for the blacksmith.

After the almost row with the captain he seemed to have grown a bit, be it trying to show his new or rather, old, friend that he wasn’t the little boy he had been when they last met, but he was changing a little, as shown by the blame taking back in South Amerigo, however as he pondered on that between duties Jay wondered when he’d get a true fight rather than simply slapping about some peons that weren’t worth his time. This man had become a pirate for adventure, for challenge, and to make a legendary weapon that would last the ages with its tales, so far he had been bored, insulted and was still without his own smithy. David had told tales of getting a new ship, with everything they needed, but knowing the boy that probably meant he gets a big grandiose room and they all sleep in the cargo hold.

As Awestralia came into view he seemed to perk up, the sea was fun, but this meant he could have a look around and possibly find a good fight to warm his heart. The wild black hair of the vagabond moved gently in the wind, as if it was waving to the shore line, and slowly the smell of peaches came across the boat, this caused the blacksmith to leap up on the railing and hold onto one of the ropes that was attached to the mast.

As they pulled nto the dock Jay gave some people smiles and waves to some of the smaller children that seemed to gather as they came into dock, once the ship was still however they ran off to play more of their games, and Jay simply squatted down on the side of the boat, taking up some of the rope nearby as the dock came up to the side of the ship he stepped off, beginning to tie up the small boat, not that anyone would steal this sailing hunk of rotted wood, and truth be told it was surprising with the amount of Gold David brought, and the new intake of crew, that it was still floating.

Then he caught Lurren to the corner of his eye looking at something, turning a bit he also saw the boy, giving a bit of a chuckle he said aloud “No need to worry, probably just some wannabe bounty hunter, like I said, get ready to always be in trouble.” finishing up the last of the knot he looked to Lurren and gave her his warmest smile before sitting on the docks edge and waiting for the lazy captain to make his way on deck.

David’s adventure had recently become even more bizarre with his new companions aboard the ship. This was the first time he led a journey with this many people accompanying him. The company started to make him really feel like a Captain for once. In addition to his duties as their Navigator did he faced another dilemma. Even though he and the others in the crew managed to escape with minor to no injuries, the same could not have been said for their guest. The extent of Elijah’s injures were well beyond what they could tend to with their quack treatments.

With the suspicion that Elijah hailed from royalty David thought it was would be much to gain by saving him. Either by ransom, reward, or auction he could stand to gain a lot of beri from the young noble. With that in mind, he set a course for them to land on Awestralia. Awestralia served several purposes for their journey before they were to venture to the Grand Line. Unlike South Amerigo the island flourished and was heavily inhabited. Having worn out their welcome in South Amerigo they stood a better chance seeking out a doctor in Awestralia.

Their illustrious peaches also drew in David. Nowhere else in the South Blue or possibly the world could you find as many or as large of peach orchards as there were on Awestralia. He could not wait to try the countless peach dishes that awaited them. Peach cobblers, pies, muffins, pancakes, cakes, preserves, jams, jelly, and the list went on and on. As a child, his brother did not let him indulge in such luxuries by forcing a strict military regiment on him. David fully intended to pig out during his stay sampling everything. Their voyage had taken a toll on him, as he had to endure their own bland, and savorless cooking. Times like these made David realize how urgently they needed both a chef and a doctor aboard their ship.

Finally yet importantly was the matter of their ship. Their current vessel was provided courtesy of Delilah but could hardly be counted as seafaring vessel. Due to being packed beyond the recommended capacity, the voyage was uncomfortable to say the least. David did not know if he could stand another trip on that poor excuse of a pirate ship. It was imperative that they obtained a powerful seafaring ship before went any further. With the considerable amount of loot hauled from South Amerigo purchasing such ship should be an easy task. Though it pained David to part from his treasure, it was a necessary sacrifice.

Immediately as he came up to the deck did the fresh smell of fresh peaches smack him in his face. With his mouth watering he happily skipped across to edge of the ship where he whipped out his binoculars. It was even better then he imagined as he could see peach trees as far as the eye could see. It was a foodies paradise. Each peach looked ripped for the picking and David pondered which of the countless peaches he was going to eat first. Distracted by his lust for food he paid Lurren and Jay any mind until as he scooped the area did he set his sights on the shirtless man by the dockyard.

Lowering his binoculars, he took a good look at him meeting his gaze trying to size him up. Seeing the large sword, he wielded piqued David’s interest. “Who knows but if it’s a fight he wants it’s a fight he can get. Winner gets the peaches. A pirate’s wager. Dewhohohoho!” David said as he pumped his fist into the air excitedly. “Let’s make landfall here and see what we can find out. There’s got to be some good places to eat around here.” “Don’t forget a doctor…” Delilah chimed in finally emerging from below deck herself. In her hand, she had held dirty blood and sweat stained bandages used to wrap Elijah’s injures. She had spent most of her time tending to the young man though her efforts were in vain as she had no extensive medical knowledge. She was good at ending lives not preserving them.

The docks had little activity. There were no other boats besides their own as they docked with the pier. The kids that gathered to watch the incoming ship make landfall quickly lost interest as the ship wasn't very large to begin with. They scampered off to continue playing until the swordsman that was standing at the only building at the pier told them off and sent them scurrying away down one of the paths that led through the forest.

"Seems he thinks we gonna cause trouble."

The man then turned his attention towards the pirates that had just arrived. He didn't draw his sword but he was moved to block the pirates paths once they disembarked. Lurren was the first to get off the ship, she jumped out onto the pier as if she couldn't wait to get off that boat. The swordsman didn't approach her but he didn't move out of the way either.

She cheerfully called out, "Hi."

"Are you the captain?"

Lurren blinked then responded, "No."

"Whatever, just don't cause trouble. I've got bigger problems to deal with then you guys."

He waited for a response and continued to stand in the way. Lurren chalked him up as some sort of guardsman, not marine, something local. He was looking pretty menacing, even without his sword drawn. There would be time for the rest of her crewmates to reply before she used uttered a more colorful and respectable reply to the man's warning.

"Fuck tha', I'll git in trouble if I wan'."

Ever the diplomat, Lurren of course had a sparkling glare to accompany her statement. She was mumbling in the swordsman direction as he continued to stand in their way. Lurren just glared at him as if trying to burn him into ashes with her stare alone. He didn't seem phased. He was keenly paying attention to the group as a whole and not just one individual.

He wouldn't move out of the way nor stop the Dauntless crew from passing him. He was merely being an intimidating presence and would not budge. There was space enough to get around him if they choose, he was just being obstinate. Lurren wasn't sure what the swordsman was being macho about but figured that the captain could handle it and would go to move past him.

He didn't stop Lurren but he glared at her as she passed him for a moment before he returned his gaze to the rest of the crew. Once Lurren was past the man she would loosen her grip on her fists. She was itching to grab her shotgun in response to whatever move the man made but besides standing in the middle of the pier he didn't make any threatening motions. If the rest of the crew didn't follow her lead she call out to them.

"Common, we got stuff to do right?"

As the large blacksmith looked to the captain he finished tying the knots for the ship to be left soundly to the dock without a chance of it floating away, occasionally looking towards the man with the sword, there was no threat from him, Jay was confident he could take him and if not he’d at least get that itch he had for a good fight scratched for once. Still as the captain spoke Jay couldn’t help but make a comment “Is all you think about gold, and food Cap?” Shaking his head he scratched his bare chest, looking up to the rooftops to see some birds flying off he began to follow Lurren, she seemed to be one of the few with a serious brain on the boat they currently called home.

Once Lurren slinked her way around the man Jay stood up the man who didn’t want to move, raising an eyebrow and a big smile Jay placed a hand on the man’s shoulder, he was a bit taller than the rude person with a sword. Nodding a bit and patting his shoulder Jay said “You could at least let us make trouble before you label us, so rude. Especially to women.” placing another hand on his shoulder Jay picked him up, his impressive strength allowed him to carry such a small target with little effort and simply placed him with his back to the wall. Smiling genuinely Jay nodded again to him and said “Now. We’ll be on our way, to make some trouble, so wait for the signal boss.” Patting his head a bit Jay turned on his heel with a roar of laughter before making his way up through the crowd where Lurren turned to shout at him.

There wasn't much to look at, and definitely not much to steal, so Jay couldn't comprehend why this man was so defensive of them just appearing, hell for all he knew we could be spending our loot here, still he wasn't wearing a uniform and as the blacksmith took up position next to Lurren for a second he said "looks like we've made a friend. Heh." then with that continued along the path in a bored stroll speed, hands now in his pockets and head looking up towards the sky, clearly not bothered about his surroundings.

Leaving Delilah to anchor the ship, David dashed off quickly behind the others following them onto the pier. He was mesmerized by the amount of peach trees there were, as they seemed to go on and on as far as the eye could see. He did not think such a place existed with such a bountiful supply of fruits. It seemed almost a paradise, a land of milk and honey or rather peaches and cream where there was no worry of going hungry. “Eating is living Jay and to be a King you must eat like a King! Dewhohohoho!”

So fascinated by the plentiful amount of peach trees he was compelled toward them paying the swordsman no attention while he addressed them. One particularly tree caught his eye as it was littered with peaches, even more so than the others were and stood very tall. With even the lowest of its branches out of his reach, his only option was to climb and pluck them from the limbs. He took a few steps back from the tree so that he’d have ample space for a good running start. With a good distance between him and the tree, he began his sprint toward it. He aimed to reach the lowest branch of the tree, which was still high up being at least ten feet off the ground.

Just before closing in he leapt with all his might with his right arm outreaching as far as he could. With enough momentum, he managed to propel himself high enough to grab a hold of the branch. Slightly surprised he actually managed to grab it he frantically scrambled to pull himself onto the limb. Though he did not weight too much the limb started to bend some as he pulled himself up onto the branch. Once he gained his balance, he started to pull himself to his feet and not before long he was standing up while resting on the trunk of the tree.

From his position, he had a good view of the surrounding area and waved over toward the crew cheerfully. “OI! ANYONE ELSE UP FOR SOME PEACHES!?” He shouted as he flailed his arms wildly to get the other’s attention though there was no doubt that they were already watching him. Though there were a few peaches within his reach he wanted to go higher up believing the ones at the top would prove to be tastier. Not knowing how long the branch he stood on would hold out he quickly began looking for a sturdier branch up higher to climb up on.

396…387..Eric looked at his companions, on the tiny boat. The captain was being the captain, Jay was doing work, the girl who's ship this was was tending to the rich kid but if they didn't find some real help he might not make it. The ship that they were one was cramped and clearly not made of a this many participants, plus it looked wired with it's mast facing down into the sky. 398…399…Almost done Eric thought to him self, and the burning in his right shoulder were the wires of his metal arm connected to his nerves confirmed it. He was no good with masts and sailing, he just made by working with engines on ships, not the sails. This ship had no engine so Eric was somewhat useless. One more Eric thought to himself as he lowered his arm, he could hear the gears wiring his restraint, And with a mighty push Eric flew up and landed on his feet.

"400 hundred, that was good" Eric exclaimed messaging his right shoulder, near the connection point. Grabbing his coat that was laying over a nearby char and throwing over his shoulder as he gooses to look over the empty, blue sea. Leaning on the railing Eric let the gentle breeze brush over his face. He then Throws his coat back on, reaching into his pocket and pulls out a cigarette. Placing the cigaret in his mouth Eric place his hat on his head with a swish. Eric look over the other side of the ship at Lurren, who look pretty on the deck, And to keep him self from starring Eric looked at the close approaching island. As the island approached so did the smell of peaches, they smelled sweet and ripe, not that Eric had ever had a peach. The Mechanic he grew up with never at any, and with no money of his own he never thought to try one.

"Land Ahoy"Eric called out, thats what pirates say Eric wondered to himself, Right?

As they boat made it's way to a small oak, Eric notice three things. One that the field behind the dock were filled with peach trees, and remembering what travelers said, about a island filled with peaches, this was Awestralia all right. Two, there was only a small cottage looking thing for structures what Eric could see. Three, there was a unhappy looking man standing on the dock with sword. Never the less they docked and Lurren went to talk to the man. Soon she weaved around him, then Jay walked aped whim with a pat on the back. Now it was Eric's turn, and as he walked up to the man Eric notice how big he was.

"Bigger trouble? you said, just wait till you meet the captain" Eric says giving a little tip of his hat and a chuckle. Eric then gooses off and follow Lurren.

It wasn't everyday that some guy with a huge sword stood menacingly in the way of a pirate crew, it was even rarer to see some guy with a huge sword standing menacingly in the way of a pirates crew being picked up and moved to the side like a plywood board. Never the less, this is what Lurren saw happen to the guy guarding the docks. He seemed just as surprised by the action as Lurren was and it took him a few moments to realize what just happened.

The swordsman blinked a few times as if dazed and stuttered a bit but couldn't seem to the find the words to reply to Jay. The rest of the group just walked past him and up to the edge of the peach tree forest. David even had time to pick a peach from one of the closet trees before the swordsman yelled out, "Well...yeah!" but he didn't pursue the pirate crew.

Lurren chuckled and said to Jay, "Sharp wit on'em eh?"

Her attention was quickly pulled towards David as he offered some pears from the tree he climbed up on. Lurren was amazed at how large some of the trees were. They were far larger then a normal pear tree, there were certainly some that seemed more reasonable in size but most were thirty, maybe forty, feet tall. The peaches on them seemed to reflect such a size increase as some looked like they were the size of cantaloupes.

"Hell yeah, toss me tha' one there!"

Lurren pointed to one of the larger ones near David and waited for him to toss it down. She wouldn't get a chance to catch it though as a large rumbling was felt through the ground like an earthquake, but obviously not. The first vibration caused Lurren to stumble as a gong like noise reverberated throughout the area. It wasn't very loud but the sound felt massive, like when someone hears lightning in the distance and can feel the sound of it even though it's miles off.

The first gong sounding tremble was surprising but it was quickly followed by a second, a third, a fourth and so on for a good ten minutes. Lurren lost her footing and fell on her ass after the third such rumble and cursed under her breath as she did so. The rumbling continued at a steady controlled pace. She's never felt, nor heard anything like it, the closest thing she could think of was some large explosives being detonated in the distance. It sounded like it was coming from the mountains so they might be blasting but she's never heard explosives like that before.

"Wha' in the world was tha'?"

The tremors finally stopped allowing her to gain her footing again. She'd notice that thousands of peaches had fallen to the ground from all the rumbling, some in very large piles depending on the size of the tree. She'd grab one and take a bite out of it quickly fearing the tremors would start again. It was juicy and sweet, quite a prize peach. She could then hear a lot of activity further down one of the paths, this one turning away from the mountains. She figured there was probably some small community nearby (seeing as there were a few kids earlier) and they must be gathering fruit.

"Wha'evah those tremors abou' I bettin' the locals know."

David had known he had hit the jackpot after his first bite into one of the peaches he gathered from the tree. They really were certainly the genuine article that he had heard about. The peach was not too hard when he bit into it and it was supple and juicy as its juices flowed out as he bit flowing down his face onto his shirt. While he quickly devoured the peach he picked the ground trembled shaking the tree along with it.

The unexpected shock shook him off his balance causing his footing to slip and sent him falling toward the ground. The young captain landed on his back causing the remainder of the peach he was munching on to get caught in his throat. After his crash following him so did tons of peaches that hung in the tree causing them to rain down on him burying him under a small pile. He thrashed around a bit pounding his chest in hopes of clearing his throat and allowing him to breathe once more. His face turned a bright red before he finally managed to force it down in time.

After a few labored breathes he pulled himself to his feet and dusted off his clothes. Despite probably losing some face with the others, he still managed to laugh it off. The tremor was not all that bad considering it managed to knock down a good deal of the peaches from the tree saving David the effort of collecting them himself. Back on his feet, he started gathering a bunch of the peaches to take along with him. “I ain’t too worried it. Let’s see if we can find a shipwright around these parts. These berris are burning a hole in my pocket and I cannot wait until we buy that warship! And I’m sure they must have a chef around who can cook some mean peach dishes….Hmmmm….” David’s expression reeked of gluttony as he carried off as many peaches as his arms can hold with he trekked down the path the children ran.

The earthquake was quite a surprise, and apparently Lurren's captain was just as caught off guard. He fell and managed to get buried under a small avalanche of peaches. It was an amusing sight even if Lurren had fallen on her own posterior. She would grab one of the peaches off of the pile on David and start eating it before he got out. Smiling with the thought, "Don'say I didn' help ya." and then held d towards the sounds of villagers hard at work.

The villagers have been a fixture of this island since long before the world government came and took them into their protective arms. Their village was island wide at one time with smaller settlements scattered throughout the entire land. It has always been a great forested area but instead of a lush vibrant and diverse ecosystem it has now been overtaken by acre after acre of peach trees.

It was a welcomed change at one point. The island had trouble with pirates frequently and the world government offered marine protection in exchange for their cooperation. Marines needed vitamin C to avoid diseases like scurvy. They would provide fruit for the massive war machine known as the marines and in exchange they get protection. It was a winning situation, or so they thought.

Slowly, over time, their once great forest shrank and shrank as yard by yard, tree by tree, the land was replaced with the ever growing need of peaches. The forest was cut down to be replaced with a more fruity replacement. A great city was built to harbor and ship the peaches, made from the once diverse forest. The city was controlled by the government and nobility was placed in charge. Times became harder, and harder for the native villagers. Soon, things became too difficult and one by one, the villages died out. Only one secluded village remains now, Spudney.

This is information easily gained from the villagers that Lurren and her pirate friends found. The pirate group would likely feel inclined to ask about the villagers because of their appearance. They were all sickly, pale, and weak looking. They were skinny, not so much underfed as much as a severe lack of muscles. They were struggling to even lift a small wicker basket of peaches that had fallen. They seemed malnourished in some way, like they were missing an important ingredient for supporting their lives.

The children seemed a bit better off but every grown up seemed exhausted and drained like life was wearing them down. It was only midday and Lurren suddenly felt tired just looking at the scrawny locals gathering their fruit. It was a terrible sight to behold and Lurren had a sinking feeling that she knew why. The explosive lass would approach one of the villagers and started helping fill a basket without a word.

"Thank you stranger. I always seem a bit tired lately. Where do you come from."

Lurren continued until she finished fill forms the basket and as she did she'd talk with the peach farmer.

"I got here wit my friend's ovah' there."

She indicated the docks and her traveling companions. Once the basket was full she'd pick it up herself and ask the man which way to the village center. He'd politely point her down the right path, twice as she went the wrong way the first time, and she'd find her way to the village easily enough.

The entire village was made from peach trees and peaches. There didn't seem to be anything else in the entire village as if everything else was taken. Lurren noticed that each building was flimsy and weak from the fragile timber but it seemed to be holding. She dropped off her basket and then turned back. If anyone had followed her she would address them, otherwise she would head back and talk to the first crewmate she found.

"This place...I hate it."

Her words had venom in them. Malice. Hatred. It was amazing how angry she sounded as she address whoever was closest. She would be looking out around at what was obviously a form of suffering. She knew what it was, it had only just started on her own home island. The world government didn't give a shit about these people. The proof was right in front of her. Farmers were being abused, neglected, and mistreated. Their livelihood turned against them in some twisted perversion that forced them to farm peaches instead of farming for the love of it.

When she was in the village she noticed the lack of meat, metal, leather or anything typical of a normal village. Even the clothing was tattered and many had outfits made from peach tree leaves. The children were okay for now, but a lack of meat and other foods beyond peaches would eventually claim their health when they had a growth spurt. She didn't dare ask what happened. Lurren would seeking out David and she would talk with him when she got a chance.

"I ain' stayin' he'ah. I...I can'n stand it. Le'ss make this stop quick."

Trouble must really follow the Dauntless crew, as Lurren had just spoken when a group of four healthy looking men came out from a different path and overheard her. They didn't seem like the local villagers who were kind and would offer free peach pies, peach cobbler, or peach jam to the pirates if they asked. Instead, they had the distinct feel of danger, or of being some form of over muscled thugs, and it was obvious they came to intimidate the new arrival.

"Well missy, ya ain't going nowhere quickly unless ya talk to our boss first."

If you pick a fight with them

Jay was already in the tree line, leaning up against one waiting on the rest of his crew to come along, as his ‘mature’ captain scaled one like the childish monkey he could have been likened to would have done, then came the noise. Looking up after the thunder clap like noise the blacksmith furrowed his brow and turned around, looking at the trees just in time not to see the mountains of peaches that were now falling on him, happened. Raising his arms up he yelped a couple of times more for the surprise than it actually hurting. After the third one of these huge thunder claps had finished and it stopped the ground shaking the black smith grabbed the tree trunk and climbed up the tree himself.

Coming out over the top he scanned around for what could have made it, a drill, he honestly expected black clouds and thunder, but found neither of the two. Scratching his head he came back down to the ground and moved back towards the town, his eyes now on the floor as he racked his brain for a feasible explanation. As such he made it to one of the shacks and sat down rubbing his head still, looking up to Lurren she was mumbling something, it wasn’t like her to be in a bad mood from what he had seen. Being one to want to look after people in the crew he was with he stood up and brushed himself off tilting his head as she seemed to say that she couldn’t stay here, then he paused and really looked around. The fabled Awestrallia, a place where people lived off the sweet peaches, it sounded pretty ideal but it wasn’t the case. This was effectively as poor as some of the districts came.

Moving over to one of the houses he looked it up and down and wondered how he could help to make this shack into a hut. Rubbing his chin he didn’t notice the four thugs that had come up towards Lurren not until she was spoken to, and with a malicious intent in their voice Jay swung around, his muscles tensed a bit as he walked back over and stood behind Lurrens right shoulder. Looking the men up and down, he smiled an evil smile, as he really wanted a fight he could actually get a sweat on with. “Miss Lurren, are these….Boys…Bothering a member of the Dauntless Pirate crew?” Bringing his large arms up and across his chest he folded them and widened his stance into a cocky manner and tilted his head at them, his eyes never leaving the biggest one, and his grin only getting bigger. ” As you know…I’m always looking for a good fight Miss Lurren, so if they’re bothering you, I can see if I can get a warm up with them.”

“Scurvy is a thing of the past now.” David thought as he munched on a peach while carrying several in his arms. He could not help but wished he grew up on an island like this. He imagined the abundance of peaches left nothing else to desire. Surely, the farmers were making a large profit selling their harvests all across the South Blue and even the world considering they were the biggest peach providers on the globe. As they traveled though the village David was, confuse by its state.

Who would guess an island with such an abundance of food would be in shambles. From the building to the people, everything was in tethers. It seems they came to the wrong place after all in search of doctors and carpenters of the entire island looked as bad as this. The only thing that comforted David was to see that the children look as sickly as the adults do. Though he would normally have no problem taking from others he was not too fond of taking what little was left for the kids.

He agreed with Lurren hoping they could take as many peaches as humanly possibly but there was no way they could leave without a doctor or a decent vessel. Their noble guest surely would not make it any further if left in his presence condition. While he contemplated their next move, a group of men approached them expectedly. Their presence and appearance greatly differed from all the other villagers. They came off more like you’re common ne'er-do-well looking to rough someone up for some beris.

David took little interest in what they had to say as he continued to chomp down his peaches. “Unless your boss can cook gourmet peach cuisine we have no business with him. Now go. You are wasting my time and ruining my meal. Jay we don’t have time for this.” While he normally would not mind mopping, the floor with those types of people his investment hung in the balance, fighting for his life and he had his fill of dealing with small town, hotshot, underbosses. David continued on his way before turning back to see if his crew would follow his lead or if the thugs would interfere with their exit.

David really hope they would not bother them too much. Not out of fear of the repercussions because he'd have no problem seeing that their operation to ruin and taking everything he can carry as he has in the past but with all the peaches he had eating the last thing on his mind was fighting. He was more interested in pigging out to some nice peach dishes and maybe a peach based mead of some sort. His mouth watered at the thought as he waited to see their reactions.

There was a tavern in the island of Awestralia. Within it there was somewhat liberal attitude amongst small crooks and there trades. It was not exactly a threatening idea for one to come in with a low level bounty, it wasnt a shady place if your misunderstanding me as I tell the start of this young man's tale so don't take that this place was a worldly known bar and that celebrities amongst the pirate world came there, mind after this it might be known as that. The thing was that marine rule was sometimes not seen as an absolute thing in this world so the people there were allowed to preform minor misdeeds and it could be seen as a bravado thing to take pride in, Sticking it to the man so to will. The bartender was protected by a few locals for some security in his business so that there was no risk of a hotshot spurring up and wrecking the place with almost the third golden age of piracy springing, such measurements in protection need to take place. Littered around was some illegal poker so you will, smuggling and perhaps some drug dealing or trading of illegal alcohol.

Nothing on the degrees of poaching, slave trade, trafficking or possibly hit contracts. There was a bounty board simply there so that people could expose themselves to the lesser crooks for a quick mugging. Today was a special day though, apparently some hot shot pirates had made there way to the island and were acting somewhat suspicious, rumors that "The Black Snake" was in town as well had started, who was he? well not much was really known about his action since he retired but he was also called "The Necromancer" to anyone streetwise to get small bounties epithets which was hard to miss in some terms due to the weakness of the basic blues.

The Black Snake was known to bring somewhat minor devastation to any island that he visits, not in a major way to the point that he is actively hunted but it was known that it was a good idea to run if he was walking the streets, he wasnt a particularly nice guy but and this is a big but, the people in which have said to have met him have been in an almost critical state and yet again but they were not dieing. In fact no one had ever been killed by this man, there wounds treated to just the point that medically there was not much more one could do for them. Anyway with the pirates here plans had started amongst with the biggest gang on the island known as the Grey Butterflies.

A group of thugs who all use 9 millimeter steel handguns of the finest make, I am not talking this flintlock weak ass pistol shit, these were very much some finecrafts of machinery and design. The leader was a tradesmen who loved to invest in his "people" with the best gear to easily make mincemeat of any novice pirates whom which would come their way and especially with their bravado, They would not expect a fisherman or a beggar to carry a gun...a really good gun that carried about a dozen rounds. Sure the men weren't supplied with enough bullets to start their own business as that would simply not do. They had brought about this plan that they would confront these guys and pretend to be the "The Black Snake" as from what they had scouted was that they had someone injured and with the rumors going around he was a trained doctor, He also carried a mysterious weapon known as "The Black Reaper". They designed the disguised the man with a black dyed handgun just incase they got suspicious. No photos have ever been token of the guy only by witness account is though that he is quite shady looking so a thug would be perfect for the act!

"The Black Snake" was drinking at the bar, around him were various other men and even women prepared to take disguises so that they could capture what ever loot these men had so they could sell it to their leader's fence or perhaps the marines. The members being seen as respected citizens then obviously there was no chance of them being suspected of foul play. The man for the role was quite handsome and young, he looked more like a doctor than the real thing, complete with nice jacket, shirt, pipe pants and some nice leather shoes. He had a moustache... a pretty thin pencilly one and he wasnt exactly innocent looking but sincere looking enough that he could be trusted.

The main reason this was such a big deal to the Grey Butterflies is though that even though they were very much a big deal to the people of town and to in fact also the low level bounty pirates whom which were not targeted by them, in fact a good amount of them actually had to pay protection money to their men, Is that they were very cloak and dagger. If they wanted to gain the attention of word class crime brokers they would have to in fact make a very clear message that the crime in Awestralia was not to be fucked with, at all. These men's heads on pikes and in the newspapers the next day, specially with the fact some of the witnesses confessing could be Grey Butterflies themselves could send that message out quite vividly without much trouble. So, if they do this their organisation can go to the next level and if they start using the name of "The Black Snake." Then surely, he will be fucking pissed and expose himself to the men indefinitely and that will be him fucked, shot to shit and then they can use his epithet or even hand in his corpse as an example, If he doesn't show up? The continue to use his name and maybe even give him unwanted prestige so either way he is fucked.

"Too a fine day for the Grey Butterflies, may these pirates grant our territory the prestige it needs!"

"The Black Snake" said aloud with a sleekit grin across his face, holding a flagon of mead between the other men whom which were going to go out today to kill the pirates outside, currently they were simply sizing them up with some scouts. From the looks of it, they all weren't that strong. If they all ganged up on them or flanked them whilst they weren't looking there was a high chance of victory. This brought great moral to the actor and his team. In fact the reason why he was drinking here so even those whom werent part of the deal would also realise that he may be the guy they are looking for and suggest for them to come here as you know it's a close nit town so surely it was in fact him, even the imposter's close friends were none the wise as they applied a lot of effort into their disguise. They all clashed their flagons of mead as they felt almost triumphant already, in fact they were very sure of themselves.

"Hyaah!"

The clink sent a small noise through the room...with all the commotion over the pirates though their was something that was oddly amiss this day. Sure the bar in which they were in was quite accustomed to its strange and quirky travellers, some certainly not the most handsome or classy to be exact but there was something generally wrong. Their was a huge smell of urine which had been biting at the nostrils of almost everyone who had even passed by the tavern from outside, this was completely humid, like you couldn't even deny that it was pee because it was in fact pee. It was coming from one focal point but the scene that was being portrayed there....was generally not one would expect. Putting it into words its hard to describe but, half hanging out of a gigantic red and white snake was what seemed to be the legs of a young individual. They were an adult in size so clearly this was a young male as their was hairs on his legs, no decent woman does not shave their legs and if anyone disagrees their clearly having love with a environmentalist or a god damn hippy lesbian. On his feet were not even shoes but simply some linen bags which had been tied around his ankles with some string, the bags literally seemed to have been to used to wipe the own man's ass prior to whatever had went down and reequipped to his feet. Sitting upright next to the large somewhat ornery snake was what seemed like a gravekeeper's shovel covered in what seemed to be flesh, blood and marrow, not exactly very pleasant to look at. The Red Snake, it looked somewhat fierce enough to bite your dick off if you went near it. You could hear it choking somewhat due to the extremely poor taste of the man within but it seemed like it didn't in fact care and was trying to continue but had reached somewhat stalwart battle with his scent and taste, it also seemed like it wasnt its first party, it had tried to do this multiple times before.

Anyway the people do notice this but they basically find it too horrible that they don't enjoy looking at it like in some sick way but also that they wanna show that they respect the Grey Butterflies so that they don't indeed incur their wrath later on down the line so they are somewhat ignoring the fact that, the guy is there at all but it soon picks the eye of seemingly the man who was portraying "The Black Snake." Suddenly the snake begins to gag and out comes sliding out the upper half of what was lodged inside the snake revealing a man covered in saliva and seemingly other body fluids. He was incredibly poorly looking, like had been heavily drinking the night before and he had been up late. This caught the eye of a few but not enough to draw more attention than their already was to the man who had just been vomited out of the snake. He slowly wipes his eyes of saliva and sleepies so that he could make a quick somewhat scan of the room, nothing does seem to be remarkable about this young man other than the fact he was wearing a doctor's coat. It was so horribly stained though...some people did start making assumptions. It was clear what this popper was doing. He had heard that The Black Snake was coming to the location of Awestralia and he had thought himself clever enough to dress himself up like a doctor so that he could enact some sort of intimidation plan to mug some people of money. Alot of the members of the Grey butterflies whom which were present somewhat scoffed at the man, their was probably around dozen and a half of them, about half a dozen sitting next to the imposter and the other dozen scattered around the room keeping tabs on people and making sure the plan goes accordingly without a single hitch. The man began to slowly dry his hair by wrenching it over the wooden surface of the floor as he pulled a stern frown.

"Fukin....."

The man somewhat cursed as a small slur under his lips, it did not travel far but it generally seemed like it was in distaste. It brought somewhat more of an annoyance of the man. "The Black Snake" slowly turned to his guys and slowly came up with a small plan so that they could get rid of this guy as if the tavern smells starkly of raw sewage then this place isn't gonna seem that inviting. So they think up a way to approach him as he slowly makes his way to the bar side and slumps himself down onto the chair. He stares somewhat angrily at the bartender whom which looks back with a strong disgust for the boy. He awaits patiently for the bartender to approach him but he didn't have the go from the butterflies. A somewhat tense atmosphere had slowly arose and the lips of most of the people who were talking away somewhat carelessly previously had slowly deafened down to minor mutters to keep up character that nothing had went wrong as the man had awoke since they didn't want him to suspect anything. Who is this man...and what is next? A faint humming sound is heard though...coming from the man. It was somewhat melancholy and childish but the snake whom which was prior to this came to his side and placed his shovel to his side carefully using its tail as it curled up and remained stationary beside him. It seemed like it knew what was going on as it looked at the men staring at its master, the one thing though was that it was not afraid. Why would it be? The party was just about to get started and the leading man had just arrived, as expected...they were gonna notice...he was their special guest after all...

((I have stuff going on on my end that's going to keep me from posting for a week or two. I've sent remy some sl info to keep it rolling. I'm just making a short post to explain where Lurren goes and you guys can continue on for a bit without me.))

It's not a common thing for Lurren to be caught off guard but in this case she was. The bandits in their way were adjustment mg for trouble and Lurren was in a foul mood so taking it out on these guys would of given her some satisfaction. Unfortunately, the grenades she normally keeps on her person were left in the ship this time around. The scent of peaches and their juicy flavor was too alluring and as a result she forgot them. She'd curse under her breath and then turn around and stomp back to the ship in a huff.

The hoodlums would ask in a nasty tone, "Where you going g babydoll, we can have some fun."

"Shutit, I ain' got time fer ya dolts. Captain, Imma be righ' back, I lef' somethin' on tha ship."

With that, she'd storm off in a foul temper to the ship to get her more explosive weaponry. The bandits on the otherhand had had enough and said, "Screw these guys, James doesn't have time for this. Let's just take their weapons and go. We tried being all diplomatic." And they would move forward to to take any weapons the pirate crew might have...or at least try to.

As Lurren went about her business Jay was left with the thugs, a grin growing on his face as he cracked his knuckles a couple of times. These guys were big, but they didn’t give off ‘big’ and as Jay stepped up to them they seemed to shrink a little bit and as the blacksmith giggled a little he got the call from his captain just as he was raising his fist to knock one of them into the ground like a peg. Stopping with his large fist in the air he seemed to deflate a bit and said ”D’aww…We’ll play later… And I suggest you get a game plan,” Bringing his hand down quickly however he patted one of them on the head and smiled before striding off to stand by David.

As he walked by along the captains side he said “Like you don’t waste time Cap’. You’re endless stomach halts us every time, or your magpie eyes…. All I ask for is some fun in an attempt to find a good fight. Not much to ask for.” Placing his hands in his pockets he looked about the place, the wind picking up a bit and causing his vest to flap a bit, as Jay began to study the people in this shanty town.

As they walked into the forest the large blacksmith would pause by one of the bigger peach trees and bring his fist in front of his chest and flicked it out , hitting the tree with the back of his fist, the large thunk that came with it caused some of the peaches to fall down, grabbing one with his other hand, it dropped right into his palm and bringing it to his lips he would bite into it and suck in the juices that wanted to drip out of his mouth. Some still did and he wiped it away with his forearm before saying “I still prefer apples…”
