"What the hell?" Lacuna yelled out. His prisoner had just gone from frail - if spirited - idol into a monstrous beast. His voice carried frustration and anger, none of this was making sense to him anymore. "What the hell? What the hell?!" The man repeated, pulling back his sword. He didn't know how to handle a monster. He still had his sword raised and he turned to look at Perry for some sign of orders - the Marine must have known more than he did. The Marine just seemed furious as well, and hadn't even instructed his troops yet. Part of the camp suddenly glowed an intense red as fire started to spread out. It was a terrifying thing, fire. The only colour the island would see except for the cloud in the sky. "What did... What did you do? You monster! You - whatever you are!" The man roared, rushing forward towards the Ritsuka monster, over the fallen pillar and bringing his sword in to pierce at the heart of the chained beast. Ritsuka held one of her clawed hands against her chest. The unfamiliar sharpness of the grip in her own body hurt, but it wasn't barely a distraction against the burning of the rest of her body and mind. Everything felt foggy to her, her body itched, and her head hurt. She felt like her senses were running on overdrive, and her body felt tightened in places and, well, furry in others. Her free hand grasped for a weapon, her eyes locking onto Lacuna as the man headed towards her. Distracted, she shot a glance over to the Marine Perry who was still gathering his own wits, and then back just in time to see the blade headed towards her. "I need to dodge. I need to move! Why won't my body... My body... Why isn't it-" She growled to herself, suddenly pushing herself forward. It was a feeling that she could describe only as un-being. She became not there, but was there. The horror in Lacuna's eyes intensified, and darkness seemed to overtake every part of her senses as her consciousness seemed to spread out. The gathered thugs paused even in their fire-fighting measures when the idol suddenly erupted into a cloud of smoke that crawled over the edges of the cart, leaving no girl behind. Lacuna started to laugh insanely, breathing in a large amount of the smoke. He stood straight up, rigidly, and seemed to completely lose focus on what was going on around him. The group of nearest men around him started doing the same thing, thrusting themselves around as if they were running from sounds that didn't exist, and twisting away blinded by lights that weren't there. Perry in the distance stood watching what was happening in front of him with his mouth wide open. His jaw finally clenched closed and he turned to his men. "Kill her. Kill all of them. We cannot let that girl get away from here!" He yelled, a few of the men raising rifles a little unsure of the situation. "I will personally promote the man who killed Ritsuka Meiban, and pay the Bounty out of my own pocket if I need to!" The lieutenant commander roared, this driving more of his men to action. A line of rifles hit shoulders, and with a the sound of scattered blasts a hail of bullets started to cut into the members of the gangs, several of the delusional men falling under the first hail of bullets. It was followed by a charge of sailors with swords raised high, who freely cut through the civilians to get towards the black cloud that was hanging in the centre of the crowd. Ritsuka wasn't sure if she had been breathing properly when she finally reformed. That barrage of rounds had torn through a lot of the men, and technically through her, but she hadn't actually been there to get hit, but... She would probably need some time to figure out exactly what was going on in any case. The girl stood up to full height, looking just over the cart to see the Marines charging in and Lacuna standing in front of her freaking out. There was still a thin black mist around her, and she tensed as it moved towards her. The clouds suddenly moved away from her, wrapping around the feet of some of the gang's members. The girl watched the clouds carefully and slowly inhaled, the cottony blackness moved back towards her as she did so. Yes. This would definitely require some time to process for her. In the meantime, of course, there was an army of Marines, a group of crazy thugs, and a fire going on. She turned to see a figure coming towards her, and the recognition hit her quickly. "Andreas? You came!" She exclaimed, putting the pieces together with the shouting earlier. |

Andreas made his way through the crowds and fighting. Suddenly a man grabbed his shoulder and pulled him to the side. Before the man could say anything, rifle fire penetrated the air, and the man fell as he was struck in the head. Andreas stared at the lifeless body in horror. Even if he was set on freeing Ritsuka and breaking anybody who got in the way, he still felt that nobody deserved something like this. He shook his head and threw his mask to the ground. 'No time for this.' he thought before looking down to the body one more time before breaking into a sprint to get towards Ritsuka. As he approached, the smoke began to thicken from the fire, and something else. "Ritsuka!" he called out as he began to cough a bit. He narrowed his eyes a bit as he began to spin his forearm on his right hand, and the smoke began to funnel towards his gauntlets. "Ritsuka!" he shouted out once more before casting his arm to the side, clearing a majority of the smoke away from his immediate area. Just enough so he could see Ritsuka standing there in her new transformed state. "...Ritsuka?" he said questioningly as he put his arms down at his side, a bit confused as to what was going on. He stared at her for a few moments before it clicked in his head. She was also a Devil Fruit user. Given her strangely fur covered state, he could only guess she was a Zoan, just like Lina. This meant that at the moment, she was even stronger than the last time he had encountered her. He felt his heart beat a little faster as he stared at her, and he clenched his fists a bit in happiness and anger. It just seemed as though the gap between them was growing larger with every passing moment, and he did not want to admit that he was weaker than her. He needed to beat her. "Ritsuka, I..." he said slowly as he slowly began to put his guard up. The sound of gunfire brought him back to his senses, and he realized that now was not the right time to be picking fights. "C'mon, we gotta go!" he shouted before drawing his fist back. Several marines were making their way towards them, and the thugs did not seem to be differentiating between who the main foe was at this point, and were fighting amongst one another and the marines. He extended his hand out towards her to escort her away, but as he did, it was already too late. Marines were already surrounding them, rifles pointed and swords raised, ready to kill. Andreas gulped a bit before raising his guard up once more. Despite all of the danger, he could not help but feel a little excited about it all. He put his guard up and began spinning his arms once more, this time sucking in a bit of the smoke that was around them, some of it belonging to Ritsuka, and some from the fire. He extended both of his arms out and spun his forearms as fast as he could as an explosion of sudden smoke, blocking the vision of the marines temporarily. A burst of rifle fire went off, and one managed to strike Andreas in the shoulder. He looked at the wound and let out a horrendous roar of anger and pain as he charged towards the marines. Andreas drew his arms back and struck both of his fists into the gut of one marine before spinning them rapidly, blowing him away in a gust of powerful wind. The sudden dispersal of the smoke gave way to his position, and Andreas looked around, his eyes white with rage as he winded his arms back and began to spin his entire body as fast as possible. Within seconds he turned into a small tornado which sucked in much of the smoke of the surrounding area, as well as drawing several marines closer. When a marine hit the blurred figure, they would be met with a fist or a kick before being pushed back a bit, but not enough to escape the pull of Andreas's wrath. One after the other, each marine was pulled into his tornado of fists before being blasted away and brought back once more. He came to an abrupt stop as the marines each were too weary to respond to an attack. Quickly, he struck one down with a powerful blow to the face, before turning the next and delivering a devastating kick to the gut. He turned towards the two remaining marines and performed a strange movement as he began to spin his forearms once more, extending both of his arms out and releasing two shockwaves in their directions, each striking their respective opponent and blowing them away. Although the actions he took were complex, the fight was over within no less than a minute. Fights with mooks tended to end that way. After the brief fight with the marineswas over, he stood still before turning back towards Ritsuka, still stuck in the middle of his rage. Some smoke still seeped out from the backsides of his gauntlets, giving a rather strange effect. He looked towards her and let out a harsh cough, spewing out some of the smoke that he had inhaled during his time he engulfed himself within it. "C'mon!" he shouted amidst his coughs. "We gotta go!" Ritsuka let out a sigh of relief and smiled when she saw the friendly face there. The pieces came together for her quickly, the hostages were probably on their way out of the camp and that just left all of the gang members and the Marines to deal with. "Andreas..." She started, looking at him and thinking of what to say next. She wanted to thank him for coming to help her - well, probably to save her. There were more important things to worry about now though. Getting back in time for the concert for one. "We need to-" She wanted to say something, but she could already tell that it was getting too late. The girl reached at her waist for her sword and remembered that she had lost it ages ago. "Any chance you brought my rapier?" She wondered, the fighting Marines finally making it through enough of the gang to make it to them. Ritsuka dove away from a couple of pistols that were pointed in her direction, hoping to take Andreas along with her. The young man, however, stayed his ground and started to use some kind of spinning powers to fight back against the Marines. There wasn't any time to watch him closely though, once the girl had gotten herself to her feet she was facing off against a number of the thugs who were meeting against the opposing force. The pair were, for the most part, trapped in the middle of the conflict. Ritsuka growled, quite literally at that, realising the hint of growl in her voice. She gulped hard, unwilling to try one of her songs in a state like that - worst case it would be completely ineffective. It might help her focus her moves, but again her body wasn't what she was used to - there was no way she could dance properly. A shiver down her spine went way too far and she turned to see there was a little snake head looking at her. The first shock of fear was cut short when she realised it was her own tail looking back at her. "Huh. I have a tail snake." She commented, furrowing her brow over what the heck she was right now. The thugs weren't going to wait for her, falling in at her with swords and guns raised. A couple of shots were fired, and Ritsuka ducked quickly, the rounds slugging into a Marine far behind her. She might not be able to attack efficiently, but that didn't mean she was useless in a fight using raw power and speed. A thug came in at her with his cutlass and she slipped back away from him again, the black smoke that followed her around issuing around her and curling around the man like a scarf going up his legs. He let out a yell and inhaled, immediately going into a confused daze. "Now I just..." She thought, tightening the cloud and finding that it had little to no physical presence. "Okay, second shot..." She muttered, flicking her backside a little bit, her tail swaying forward awkwardly. Ritsuka winced, it was like a third arm and she didn't have an idea of depth with it yet. With a little focus, the tail whipped forward and bit the man in the hand, an action the idol felt a little weird about. His sword clattered to the ground and the snake tail grabbing it and pulling it back to the girl. "Now then!" She called out, taking up a fighting stance. The thugs immediately paused once she had a blade levelled against them, but the energy of the battle was more than enough to drive them forward. Ritsuka took a deep breath and waved the tip of the sword around a little. "Allegro Lunge!" She called out, beginning a flurry of stabs that wove out in front of her. She pushed forward with the attacks, her blade stabbing into individual thugs two or three times before they fell down or back and left their next ally in the way of the onslaught. The sound of ringing metal and hollering men gave off a subtle hum. When the attack was done the small force that had gone up against her was crawling away to stay out of further combat, or just remaining on the ground either with no recourse or due to shock. The wave of black smoke that followed in her wake drove the conscious men to foam at the mouth in confusion and convulse. Ritsuka lowered the cutlass a little bit, exhaling a breath at the same time, when the iron weapon suddenly snapped a quarter of the way down its length. Ritsuka discarded the damaged blade and instantly regretted it as a shock flew up her spine and she took a guard against Andreas. She didn't mean to, but the way he looked at her and called out to her set her on edge. Trying to force herself back to relaxing wasn't entirely effective, but she nodded to him in response. "Alright, yeah. We should go!" She called back, heading back to the ramp of dirt that had led down to sea level in the first place. "By the way, my sword?" She thought to ask, turning back around. While she was turned, the ground in front of her suddenly exploded with an impact from above, throwing her to the side in a protective roll. Perry rose up out of the impact crater, pulling some kind of brass knuckles from the ground and turn to the fallen idol. The Marines behind the pair of pirates was split as Lacuna joined in on the fight, having regained his senses. He levelled his gaze onto Andreas next. |

Andreas nodded to Ritsuka and grabbed the blade sheathed at his side. He had completely forgotten about it. He gripped the blade with a backhand grip and was about to toss it to Ritsuka. Before he could even get the blade unsheathed, the ground beneath him cracked and crumbled, and an explosion of dust happened right before him. He held his arm up to shield him from the debris before spinning his arm and casting it aside to clear anything clouding his vision. Not too far from him stood a fairly strong looking marine, and he seemed to have his eyes set on Ritsuka. Before he took a step forward to begin his charge towards the man, he felt a menacing pair of eyes staring him down. When he turned his head to the left, sure enough, Lacuna was setting his gaze upon him. With a quick glance back to Ritsuka and the marine, he grimaced. She would be able to hold her own in a fight, he was positive. If they did not defeat these men now, they would simply be hunted down again later. "Ritsuka." he called out her name before tossing her the rapier. "I..." he slowly began to say before turning back towards Lacuna and letting out a heavy breath. "See yah in a bit." he said awkwardly in his attempt to seem cool. "C'mon!" Andreas called out to Lacuna, who hardened his gaze even more. "I have no fight with you, boy! Get out of the way!" Lacuna shouted as he slowly made his way towards Andreas with his sword. "You sure 'bout that? Cuz I sure have a fight with you, you fuckin' asshole." Andreas cursed the man out, making a vein appear on Lacuna's forehead in an angry response. "I'm not afraid to kill you! Get the fuck out of my way!" he cried out, his eyes growing wide in anger. "C'mon, you got all the fight with me. I kicked the asses of at least twenty of your men. I let the hostages go. And I set your entire camp in flames." he said with a demented smile, as if he took enjoyment in revealing everything he had done to foil Lacuna's plans. Lacuna stopped in his tracks and clenched his jaw hard, Andreas could of sworn he saw the man's teeth crack. "You son of a bitch..." the man cursed underneath his breath, but just loud enough for Andreas to hear. "I'll kill you! You motherfucker! Then I'll kill your little monster bitch too!" he cried out before desperately charging towards Andreas. Andreas' eyes widened in anger before he gave a quick snarl to the man. While the man charged, Andreas took a strong and solid stance as he prepared to take him on. He held his hand in front of him and squatted down into a low position. His arms and calves began began to spin rapidly, as he kept himself still, and they eventually blurred into an indistinguishable figure. The entire time, he kept his eyes on Lacuna who was growing ever closer by the millisecond. Lacuna let out a massive roar of anger as he thrust his blade forward in an attempt to stab Andreas through the chest. In retort, Andreas let out an equally terrifying roar of anger as he took a mighty leap forward at the same time Lacuna did. The sound of the grinding of steel filled the air as Lacuna's blade slid past Andreas's gauntlet and embedded itself into his shoulder. The same time that Lacuna had embedded his blade into Andreas, he had delivered a blow to the man's chest. His eyes widened in pain as Andreas kept his fist embedded int he man's chest and continued to spin. "Oraaaa!" he gave his battle cry as he followed through with the rest of the punch and blasted the man away. He snarled before he took the blade from his shoulder and pulled it out, tossing it to the side with dismay. He walked over to Lacuna and the man was breathing harshly, and looked up to Andreas in fear. "Wait, no! Please!" Lacuna begged before Andreas spit to the side in disgust. "Maybe if you didn't beg." he said before he reeled his foot back and delivered a powerful soccer ball kick to the man's head, knocking out several of his teeth as the man was sent flying. Techs Used

Ritsuka turned to give Andreas a thankful smile as the young man tossed her green crystalline rapier to her. The weapon felt right in her grip, even if her hand wasn't quite what she was used to. Perry didn't seem interested in giving the girl more time than that to relax, and after snapping his sword across his brass knuckles to clear off the small amount of rock that remained on it, he jumped forward and slashed downwards with all his might. "You have no idea what you've done, do you?" The man asked, his blade neatly cutting through a thin black mist as Ritsuka carefully jumped her way back. The smoke curled around her again, protectively, even though it didn't carry any real mass to it. "Look at you. Standing there, a beast. Do you know what you ate? Do you have any idea what you've stolen from the Marines?" Perry tried to close the gap with a backhanded swing of his knuckled hand, then pierced the remainder between them with a quick jab of his sword. The idol's blade turned aside the attack with its edge, finally letting the girl settle back into a comfortable stance. "You World Government types are all the same, you know?" Ritsuka countered, slipping her blade up the length of Perry's and snapping against the guard of the weapon. The two of them pushed against one another, but with her clawed feet digging into the dirt and her song empowering her heart, the idol didn't fall behind in raw force. They both gave a single final shove and moved back from one another, going on the defensive in case of sudden counters. "I don't even know what's going on! Do you think I'm just suddenly to blame?" She asked, heaving a sigh between lines of her song. "Nevermind that you're talking all crazy at me. The brutes in Kodenshima at least tried to make sense!" Ritsuka turned in place as if she was going to slash her sword from range, but instead of any fancy shockwave, a cloud of her black smoke was willed up like she was splashing someone with an airy liquid. Perry stepped back, not sure how to counter. Even he had noticed something had happened when the smoke hit those thugs earlier, but he hadn't been anywhere near close enough to figure it out. The idol suddenly thrust forward her empty paw, and the smoke reached out like it wanted to wrap around the Marine's head and neck. Panicking, Perry jumped straight up and over the smoke and pulled back his fist. "Do you think this is about the little spit of land you came from?" He growled, suddenly coming down on top of Ritsuka with a pose similar to the one he had first landed in. "This is about Commander Swift's mission! This is about power you've taken from the hands of Marines!" Ritsuka seemed to wince, but really she was just shutting her eyes for a moment in an attempt to focus herself. She had done it once before, she just needed to feel it again. Rock shrapnel and dust blew up as Perry slammed his fist into the ground, his sword held parallel to the ground and ready to slash out in case the blow was dodged. He couldn't see the idol though - he could barely see anything. The black cloud had surrounded him, and he quickly clamped his mouth shut so that he wouldn't breathe any of it in. The beast girl was a lot faster than he had thought she was. Her song echoed from nearby and he slashed out with his blade, feeling a painful pinch on the back of his neck. Ritsuka had - at the last moment because she still wasn't close to used to it - changed herself completely into a cloud of her black smoke. The feeling of having someone pass through your body when you were insubstantial was a feeling that'd be hard to express. The cloud-Idol drifted above Perry as he had frozen to consider his options, and suddenly reformed in mid-leap away from him. If she had to explain it, she felt like she was holding her breath while in that form - though she could easily breathe if she tried. She had yet to come close to its real power. Moving away, she felt a twitch - a need to attack, a need to do something. Her tail picked up this signal, and snapped down and dug its fangs into the back of Perry's neck. Her voice caught on the next line of her song, gasping for a moment as she half-fell through the arc of her jump and rolled in the dirt, holding her rapier so she wouldn't gut herself on it. Perry was in a different world though. He had heard the gasp and had reached back to feel a pair of small pricks in the back of his neck. Somewhere there was a rumbling, a crash maybe? But he could barely hear it over the lyrical howling of the song in his head. There were lights moving all over the place, stage lights? Attacks? He wasn't quite sure. The Marine stood up and turned to look behind himself, seeing a bestial form wrapped in shadows and lights pulling itself up from the dirt. "Commander... What is this?" He asked, needing to place a hand over one side of his face to steady himself. "In the hands of a pirates, this power... In the hands..." Perry drew back his sword and slammed it down until it struck the ground, ripping a blade in the air that cut through the short distance towards Ritsuka. He couldn't focus though, the shadows were moving, plucking at the air of his blade like a harp and hiding where his target laid. "You'll never find rest until the Marines have this power - and your life!" He roared, slashing again and sending a second attack outwards. Ritsuka wasn't sure what was going on with the Marine, but once she had gathered herself he started launching attacks at her. What disconcerted her was how far off the attacks were - she barely had to the dodge the second one, side-stepping away from it while studying the man's face. His words, that's what really hit her. He seemed to be spouting madness, but there was confusion and hatred in there that she couldn't stand. "I'd rather be cursed than hand over anything to the Marines!" She called out, drawing back her translucent green rapier and forcing it forward. Air started to press against the tip of her blade until it had formed into a lance shape, and she thrust it forward towards the Marine. "Crashing Lance!" She roared, the projectile piercing through the distance between them. She winced at the last minute, unsure of her resolve to actually kill him. The spear-tip shockwave cut straight through the lower midsection of Perry as he pulled his sword up for another slash, going straight through the man and punching a hole into the earth behind him, kicking up a cloud of dust. Perry feel, injured but alive, and trying to make sense of the visions and sounds that were clouding his better judgement still. Ritsuka's hands fell to her side, not feeling the push to fight any longer. The soldiers and everyone else had calmed down to only a couple small skirmishes, but she was left mostly alone now. Even the few Marines looking her way were watching the fallen Perry and keeping this distance. "Uh, Rizumu?" Came a voice from nearby, catching the girl's attention. It was coming from one of the carts, which was slowly rolling out from its parking place and coming near. It was one of the stagehands from the event, calling out so much as asking a question. The idol turned and waved, suddenly realising that they had other things to attend to and looking for where Andreas' fight had resolved. "We're escaping, and we've got a cart!" They explained, restating the obvious. "Come quick!" "Andreas!" Ritsuka called out, starting a slow jog towards the cart and putting her sword away. "Come on, we don't have to keep fighting!" She wasn't planning to wait, but caught up with the cart easily. The freed hostages gave her something of a wide berth - she was still a furry tiger/monkey girl with a snake tail after all - but she didn't take it personally. She took a deep breath and tried to rest against the wall of the cart and collect herself. As she slowly took in and exhaled a deep breath, she slowly started to fade back into her completely human form until the transformation was complete and the bestial strength - and the black mist - faded completely from her. Andreas watched Lacuna’s body fly through the air, the shards of his teeth decorated the vision of the gruesome act like snowfall. He watched the man bounce a few times and then raised his eyebrow when the man did not move. He definitely was not against killing when the need arose, and with his hobby of fighting the strong ones, the need certainly arose quite a bit. But even then, he disliked the act; it put a bad taste in the back of his mouth. When the man began to cough, he rose to look towards Andreas with a look of terror and anger. He shouted something, but the words were a bit scrambled between the spitting of blood and lack of proper teeth placement. Andreas gave the man a small smirk before turning to move onto other business. Apparently during his fight, Ritsuka had picked up a fight with the marine. The fight was coming to an end, and Andreas watched in amazement at Ritsuka’s abilities. He felt his heart pound and he could not help but lick his lips at the thought of when he would finally get to combat her. Although, there was a bit of another feeling that he could not possibly identify, possibly a bit of wanting and envy of such power for his own. When she delivered the final blow to Perry, he let out a low whistle. He stood still for a moment and looked around, somehow the chaos was already beginning to die down. When someone came to him to explain their’ escape plan, he only nodded, but remained still. He felt a bit lost in the moment, and was trying to calm down, he wanted a little more. He continued to stare towards Ritsuka and his heart skipped a beat when she called his name. “Right…” he said to himself before shaking his head and heading towards the cart. With a bit of effort, he hopped into the back, wincing in pain as his adrenaline rush began to die down. He grabbed his shoulder and looked towards it to find his clothing absolutely blood soaked. His other shoulder had a bullet embedded in it. He figured he would just need some of those miracle bandages that seemed to heal everything. He grabbed onto the bottoms of his shirt and took it off with a bit of pain, grunting a little as he removed it. He revealed his battle hardened body, decorated with scars and wounds from his more recent battles. He let out a sigh of relief and then looked towards Ritsuka. He tried to say something but could only sigh again. “You’re pretty…” he said for a moment before pausing to try and think of the right word. “Strong and furry.” He complimented her with the smoothness of a cheese grater. “And you’re welcome.” He finished before giving a quick nod, finding that his act of saving her and everyone were deserving of the utmost thanks and reward. Ritsuka had a small smile on her face as she relaxed against the side of the cart. The smoothness of her own skin felt different from what it normally had, the back of her hand brushing against a bit of bare thigh made her feel like she was severely under dressed. "I'll probably have to experiment lots with this... Whatever it is. At least if I want to get used to it." She thought to herself, looking at the back of her hand. "Besides, I'll need to learn to fight with a claw. My sword felt just slightly uneven there." The girl noted, slowly sliding her rapier back into its sheath. She was never one to dwell - there was always something more important to think about or aim at. And in this situation, she had two important things on her mind. The concert she still had to complete, and the young man Andreas who had helped her out since she had made landfall. None of the stagehands reacted particularly negatively when the small boy removed his shirt, but they did seem to pass a few more glances over him than were needed due to the patchwork look of his body. The scars were more than many of them had seen, let alone survive. It was only Ritsuka who didn't seem the least bit phased, an element that spoke to her history of warfare. At the very least, not enough of the scars were fresh enough to set her worrying about him recovering from them - she had learned to respect his strength, even from the small displays she had caught. "Andreas, thank you." She replied to his compliment, offering him a smile that was somewhere between the dazzling brightness of the sun and that of the stars. Ritsuka that gave out a little bit of a laugh at him, after the curt nod and everything. "You're supposed to wait until I say that, silly." She teased gently, letting out a deep sigh and seeming to move further into the corner she was sitting in. "Really Andreas, thank you." The idol continued in a happy and melodious tone. "I'm lucky that I met someone kind enough to come after me, and strong enough to rescue all of the hostages." She said, the gratitude in her voice rather overwhelming. The stagehands who were nearby looked to the girl and then to Andreas, and quickly turned to busying themselves or resting. It wasn't privacy by any means, but anyone would be uncomfortable watching that. "You're the best bodyguard I've ever had." Ritsuka added. As if something suddenly switched inside of her, Ritsuka suddenly stood straight up and focused on one of the stagehands. "The concert." She said sternly, holding back excitement. The girl cleared her throat and then looked to the ones that seemed the least harmed by the incident. "When we arrive back I fully intend to start according to the schedule. I..." She commented, drifting off as she stepped back and looked over her damaged outfit. "I might need time to change." The stagehands all seemed a little confused at first, but soon excitement started to spread through their faces. "I want to make this a concert that no one will forget!" She told them, looking back to Andreas as she spoke. The workers erupted into pleased cheers behind her, completely forsaking their minor injuries and shedding their stress from the traumatic incident. The concert grounds were ridiculously active when they arrived, it seemed like the set-up hadn't calmed in the least after the kidnapping. Friends rushed the cart to embrace with their co-workers, several approached with medkits and were rather shocked to find the number of injuries low and otherwise minor. Two of the former hostages walked together with Ritsuka, turning away attempts to fix up their minor cuts and bruises. The intent spread like wildfire through those who had gathered - the show was going to go on. A few members of the security team approached as well just in case, but the staff soon fled the cart completely and began heading backstage to check on the preparations. One of them cut off Andreas, far taller than him and looking down over the collar of his white uniform. "You're Miss Rizumu's bodyguard, correct? We thank you for your efforts. We dispatched a team only a short while ago to round up the gang members, but with your timing they must have arrived shortly after you left." He explained to the young man, bowing low to him. "Mister Vivid is awaiting you in the VIP seating area. If you'll come with me..." He offered, motioning towards the central region of the seating. Ritsuka was in the back being mobbed by excited workers who stripped her quickly of her first outfit and replaced it with a new one, while others were patting her clean and applying make-up to hide any scuffs she had taken from the whole incident. She stood completely still, listening to the slight murmur of the crowd that passed through the walls of the backstage. Andreas would be able to see it himself. People, hundreds of the people of Gesso, were filtering into seats in front of him. Many were feeling impatient, many were talking excitedly. They had likely been waiting for other matters to resolve for a while and had just recently been let in. Of course Andreas didn't have to swim through their numbers because he was going straight to the central box of seats where Mister Vivid was already waiting for him, sitting back in a plush red chair with a wide smile on his face. "I seem to have underestimated both your strength and that of Miss Rizumu." The man said, turning to Andreas as the security guard waited at the far end of the box. "I know that you wish to strike me, but if you must I'd rather you waited for the end of the show. Please, I've arranged for you to be seated here with me. It's the best location on the entire grounds for enjoying Miss Rizumu's music." Vivid started, raising his hands defensively to hopefully ward off Andreas from punching a defenceless old man. He then motioned to some of the chairs next to himself. "Also we'll provide you with anything you need. Medical attention? A drink perhaps? Fresh clothing?" He offered a kindly smile, even if it betrayed something of a jesting attitude. A couple of attendants came to offer some snacks and drinks, as well as to listen if Andreas needed anything more. They were soon followed by a couple brightly dressed individuals, likely actual VIPs of the island, who gave Andreas a passing glance but otherwise didn't comment. After all, he was quite close to guest of honour status, and they could never challenge someone of his importance. When the lights went off, the only things visible was the dying rays of the sun striking the bottom of the rainbow shaped cloud high above. People started to murmur and then calmed down, and Vivid himself was gripping the arms of his chair in excitement. Spotlights suddenly snapped on, aimed centre stage, creating a walkway of light. The hush over the crowd snapped almost instantly when they heard footsteps coming from behind stage, and turned into a mass of gasps when Ritsuka walked out from behind one of the concealing curtains. Her outfit was a burning combination of red and orange like a sunset, her blonde hair was fitted with coloured highlights to match and her sword was even covered to give it a flame motif. Walking right to the center of the stage, Ritsuka stuck a happy pose for the audience. "Everyone! I'm Rizumu! Please listen to my song!" She called over the audience, everyone erupting into cheers which only began to die down as a beat in the distance started to take over. Ritsuka, no, Rizumu, burst passionately into the lyrics, her body starting to move aggressively around the stage as the crowd started to cheer in tune with her song. From the VIP section, Andreas would be hit full force by the energy of the song, one that she recognized as the same powerful ballad the girl had used to bolster herself in combat. Maybe it was just because everything around here was so aggressively white, but things started to tint ever so slightly. Ritsuka continued to push herself on stage, under the hot lights her powerful choreography was even starting to make her sweat. She was pulled almost completely by the spirit of the song and the audience below her. When she had hit the midpoint of the song for a calmer segment, she didn't seem to relax at all, and once the song burst back into full power it took the crowd with it. The air seemed to glow with red and oranges as if Ritsuka was a burning flame on stage. "Do you understand, lad?" Vivid said quietly, so low that it was a shock it could even be believed. "This song... Is red." He almost choked on his words. "I have a billion shades of red in more paints than one can imagine... But this is the colour I truly seek..." He explained, a single tear rolling down his face. The audience seemed to agree, they were drifting along in the lyrics and the music and many of them were experiencing the same colour in the sound. Gesso was a place so lacking in colour, so used to white and the shades of paint tubes they passed around, they had as a people developed something that set them apart from any average island. It was a society that could all experience the phenomenon of synesthesia. When Rizumu's first song ended, the reaction from the crowd was massive. She stood there in the hot lights, trying to catch her breath and calm down, against the massive wall of noise coming from just below her. Her eyes caught Vivid and Andreas, and she waved to the both of them, eliciting an even greater cheer from the crowd. She still had one more song for this costume, and two changes after this. It was going to be a long night for her, but as a performer it was exactly what she lived for. For the audience, for the people of Gesso, it was a rainbow of colours they almost felt they had forgotten. There were no backstages passes, no meet-and-greets after the curtain had fallen, and nothing left for the people of Gesso except to go home in an excited daze. Vivid had, with the appearance of tremendous reflection on his face, turned down his right to go and speak with the idol and instead headed home for the night. Andreas would be allowed passage though, and if he went to look for her he'd find Ritsuka stretching out over a back set of stairs fanning herself. The deep blue of her current costume denied the heat she was feeling in her body, but its design - perhaps borrowed from Fishman Island itself - made her look like she had crawled out of the ocean and split her legs only that day. None of the staff were very active. They had all enjoyed the show as much as the audience - some had even fainted - and were now resting as well. The girl stopped fanning and just draped herself there, unaware of her surroundings. She was enjoying the afterglow of what was probably one of the most intense show she had every done, and the smile on her face proved it. |

Andreas looked out of the corner of his eyes because Ritsuka complimented his strength. “You probably could have done it yourself…” he whispered in a disappointed tone before pouting. He turned towards Ritsuka and gave a slight scowl to her smile. The damn girl was always trying to send him cute looks, but he knew what really laid waiting behind it all. She was a monster, metaphorically and quite literally from the most recent turn of events. Amongst his anger and skeptical thoughts, a smile crawled onto his face against his will. As much as he tried to tear it away, he ended up giving the girl a small smirk. “Don’t worry about it.” He said before scratching his cheek. “You still owe me, anyways.” He reminded her, although he did not know if she would be up for a fight today, so tomorrow would probably be a better bet. The rest of the cart ride, he remained silent for the most part. The workers aboard the cart attended to him the best he could, but all he got was jury-rigged bandages from torn shirts and dresses. He gave brief nods of acknowledgement to Ritsuka and shot her strange looks as she began to concern over the concert. “Anybody even gonna be there?” he rudely asked after she said she wanted to make it the best concert ever, recalling that there had been nobody there aside from the workers just moments ago. “Er, nevermind…” he quickly corrected himself after receiving a few nasty glares from the other passengers. “You’re going to do great.” As soon as they arrived, the cart was swarmed with workers in concern and gratitude. He received a number of expressions of gratitude, but he remained silent as he felt a little uncomfortable being swarmed. Just as quickly as they had arrived, he watched Ritsuka being whisked away. He flinched a bit as he almost extended his hand out, but hesitated because he knew they were out of danger at the moment. When the security officer came up to him and motioned for where he was to go, he looked around a little and pointed towards his wounds. “I need a quick patch up.” He noted before being whisked away to a nearby medical tent. While there, he found that several of the workers he had saved were inside, but most notably the woman who he had broken. Several members of the tent rushed towards him and he spread his arms. “Just something to remove a bullet and some bandages, thanks.” He requested before spreading his arms, expecting to be treated where he stood. The workers began removing the pieces of cloth and quickly went to work. The entire time he stared at the woman with a cold and sorrowful stare. She stared back with a look of fear, but several other workers were also attending to her wounds. “I’m sorry.” He mouthed to the girl one more time, and she tearfully nodded and mouthed a “Thank you,” back to him, knowing he did what he felt was right. It was not too long before Andreas was all wrapped up and given a new white button up shirt, as per request. He reached the VIP seating area moments later and took his seat next to Mr. Vivid. He nodded briefly as he listened to the man, and he grabbed several of the drinks and snacks that were offered, scarfing them down in a hungry madness. “Alright.” He said with his mouth full of food. “I can wait.” He said before leaning back in his chair and getting ready for the concert. He was quite surprised by the turnout of people, and wondered if Vivid had done this while they were away. The bastard still wanted to put the concert on despite all they had gone through, although Ritsuka seemed plenty up for it. He picked at his teeth and belched before propping his feet up on a luxurious table next to him, absolutely disgusting the people around him with his lack of manners. He waited and began to grow bored, what was the big deal about a concert anyway? Just as his thoughts began to drift towards negativity, the lights shot off, and then spotlights snapped on and highlighted a single person in the midst of the stage, Ristuka. He glanced over her dress and smiled. “Red, my favorite color.” he noted before he dropped his feet and leaned forward in anticipation, resting his elbows on his knees and using one arm to prop his head up. He listened in and recognized the song she was singing from earlier, and could not help but smile and feel absolutely taken by the song. Vivid began to speak passionately of the girl, and Andreas could only nod. “Yeah… I think I’m looking for some red like that, too.” He said, although he was positive Vivid paid absolutely no attention to him. For the rest of the concert, Andreas let himself fall into the mood of the concert. Although he never once cheered, the smile on his face never once left until the concert ended. After the concert ended, Vivid began to take his leave, and Andreas quickly caught up with him. He looked at the bodyguards escorting him and shrugged them off. “Hey, Vivid!” he shouted, and the man turned towards him with the same look of happiness on his face. “Hell of a concert, first one I've ever been to. Thanks for the front row seats.” He thanked the man before he took a few steps forward. “But I owe you a lil’ something.” He said before he charged at the man with his fist cocked back. The bodyguards prepared to stop Andreas, but Vivid simply held his hand up to tell them to stand down. The grin on Andreas’s face grew as he jumped wildly at the man, swinging forward with all his might as he struck Vivid in the face, although the look of satisfaction and happiness never once left as he flew through the air and came to a skidding stop a few meters away. Andreas shook his fist and gave a low whistle. “Just a lil’ more red since you like it so much. Catch yah around, jackass.” He said to the man as his bodyguards rushed to his aid, and Andreas quickly took his leave to go and find Ritsuka. Andreas found Ristuka rather quickly with some tips from the workers. He watched her from afar and hesitated to go and greet her. After the concert, he felt there was a completely different presence about her, he actually felt a bit of shyness in approaching her. He shook any doubts from his head and approached her with a smirk on his face, finding her tired form quite amusing. “Gotta admit, that was pretty great.” He complimented her as he approached her. “So, what now?” he asked, wondering what plans she had in store and what she was going to do after the concert. |

Ritsuka didn't even realise that anyone was nearby until Andreas was already speaking to her. The jolt caused her to ram the small of her back into the stairs, just enough to make a jostling sound but not enough to actually hurt her. "Thanks!" The idol spat out in her flustered state. She looked herself over to find that the deep blue outfit wasn't discoloured anywhere due to sweat - a sudden concern she hadn't earlier considered. She cleared her throat and lifted herself with her hands to sit on the top of the stairs. "The show went off without a hitch!" The girl confirmed, smiling just down on Andreas from her perch. Her legs snapped together with a sudden thought and stayed that way, even if it made her seem a little too uptight given that she was trying to relax. "Thanks for staying and watching all of it. It means a lot to me. I even saw you sitting there next to Mister Vivid! I'm sure he was a gracious host." She commented, trying awkwardly to maneuver her legs into a more comfortable position while keeping them aligned. When Andreas finally pushed on and asked some actual information out of her, the girl's green eyes went pleasantly blank. There was a lot of details to wrap up, there was a lot to do. What exactly did it mean, for Ritsuka? "What now..." She repeated back, suddenly seeming to turn into a fluid state and flowing down the stairs until she was right on eye-level with Andreas. She no longer felt the need to keep her legs tightly together and tapped her feet right onto the floor, slowly building up to something of a light flailing. If they weren't in complete privacy, it would have been rather embarrassing. The fact it wasn't with the one boy around spoke volumes about the idol's level of comfort. "What next..." She said again, finally tapping both of her shoes down at once. "I dunno. I don't have another show planned yet." Ritsuka went silent afterwards, blinking for a moment as her words settled in. "I don't book a lot of my own shows, you see. I tend to just... Well, I don't tend to anything. This is only my second show outside of my home island." She pumped one fist at the end of the sentence. "I'm getting better!" The girl explained happily, tipping herself over so she was leaning against the short railing. "I could get contacted at any time, but really I just have to keep travelling around and getting noticed. The Marines certainly seem to like me." She added with no sense of sarcasm in her voice at the end. She finally clapped her hands together. "There are supposed to be all kinds of amazing places in the Grand Line, you know. I mean, it was pretty amazing here too. A whole island all full of white, trading for paint... Remarkable... If kinda sad." She let out a small sigh. "No one was sad tonight though." Ritsuka commented through a grin. "Not once we got back. Everyone was happy and excited. That's what being an idol should be about. Being able to make people happy." The girl laughed to herself a little bit and seemed to pause again. "What now... What next." She said mostly to herself. When a thought finally struck her, she lowered her head and let out a long, low breath. She almost seemed to puff up, back to her furry monster form, claws and all. As she took in a bit of breath, black mist attempted to curl out from her lips anyway. "This too. This power..." She smiled, showing off bestial fangs but still looking adorable. "It's not something crazy. I can control it, if I try to. I can control all of it." She reasserted, making a small bit of the mist fly from an open palm and dance in the air before returning to her like she had somehow inhaled it. "I saw you fighting too, Andreas. You were really strong, but you were doing something too." She frowned as she looked down at her feline feet in her shoes, then smiled when she turned to Andreas as reassurance. "I'm not a monster... Or maybe I am? I don't know. That Marine was so angry. So very angry." She scratched at the back of one paw with the other. "I've only heard about..." She started, catching herself and straightening enough that her spine seemed to stretch. Her tail came out and wrapped itself across her lap. Then it all receded and she was normal human Ritsuka again. "See? Back and forth just takes a little effort is all. I'll have it down in no time. Maybe some day people will want to see me on stage like that?" She tried, tilting her head a little bit, though how much she was joking was up to question. There was a hint of seriousness in her voice. "I know!" Ritsuka suddenly burst out with, standing to full height and pounding her fist into her open palm. "All this stuff with the Marines, all this furry stuff, all this craziness... I'm never going to wrap my head around it if I exhaust myself, right?" She smiled brightly and approached Andreas, taking his hands in hers and shaking them. "A vacation! I'm due one, right? I've only done a couple shows, sure, but I could use some time off already. The Grand Line is tiring when a girl's doing all this fighting and singing." Ritsuka said to him, not stopping to shake his hands until she had finished. Stepping back, her expression flashed to contemplation for only a short time before it returned back to a smile. "I hear that there's a resort on another island that's super exclusive! Skiing and hot tubs and all kinds of things! That's what I'll do. I'll go and relax, work out my kinks, figure out my new powers and be fresh for my next concert." The idol said excitedly, taking a few steps to the side like she was just going to slide into the next scene without effort. She stopped, her heels striking against the wood of the floor, and she turned to Andreas. "It may not be dangerous... I don't think I'll need a bodyguard for a resort..." She started, trying to find the right words. "But if you're willing, Andreas, do you want to come with me?" She asked, shining a bright and hopeful smile at him. "You're the only friend I've made in the entire Grand Line, and I want to share this with you." She added. |

Andreas felt a little amused by Ritsuka's reactions. It was not just her face, but her entire body went into everything she did. "Yeah... Vivid was a great host." he said with a bit of a smile, looking to the corners of his eyes as if he had done something wrong, but was trying to play it off like he was innocent. Of course, Ritsuka would not know, not unless Vivid straight up told anyone. But the guy seemed like a man of his honor, so hopefully just one punch meant nothing between gentlemen. As Ritsuka went on to answer his question, Andreas nodded and let out "mhmm"s of confirmation to show that he was paying attention. He kept note of the small movements she made with the end of every sentence, the girl still had quite a bit of energy even after everything was said and done. With her final sentence, he gave yet another nod and then a skeptical hum. "It's not so sad, really." he said in contrast to her final statement. "The people here just... deal, like everyone else. A splash of color is nice every now and then, though. I think they liked you for that." he gave her his opinion on the matter, although everything was quickly dropped as she went onto the next topic. His eyes widened a he flinched as Ritsuka began her transformation. He got ready to put up a guard and let out a bit of killing intent as he prepared for battle. Before he could even put up his guard, he was defeated in an instant by her smile. 'She doesn't want to fight...' he thought, slumping his shoulders in disappointment as Ritsuka continued to demonstrate her mastery over her new skills. "Yeah, I ate one of those shitty pieces of fruits too." he replied when she noted his abilities. "Didn't make me all furry, though..." he said before trailing off, remembering his comrade from not too long ago. He stared at Ritsuka as she spoke and even reverted back to her original form, but none of the words really hit him. She reminded him of Lina quite a bit, even down to her abilities. He let out a slight sigh in memory of his old friend, also remembering that he never quite got a chance to fight her again. As Ritsuka went on and her excitement about the resort grew, Andreas felt a fuzzy and strange feeling growing in his stomach. A bit of doubt and excitement mixed in there led him to grow rather frustrated with himself. Then she popped the question, and he felt a slight tug at his heart strings. Then came the smile, yet another brutal blow. And finally, the word friend came up, and Andreas felt like he was done for. "Uhh..." he tried to think of something to say, but nothing was really coming to mind. "Friends, huh?" he said in a bit of a somewhat stale and disappointed tone, as if the word friends was not what he expected from her. This entire time he wanted to fight her, and friends was all she thought? He absolutely had no idea what to feel about it all. If he went with her, he was sure it would be nice, but if he did, what would happen? The last time he went on an adventure he never exactly got to fight again. And a trip to a resort was not necessarily Andreas's cup of tea. 'Then again...' he thought as he looked the girl over and turned away, a bit embarrassed. "You... I..." he stumbled over his words. He took a deep breath and steeled his gaze before turning towards Ritsuka. "Ritsuka." he said before he walked to her and put his hands on her shoulders, pulling her a little closer as he got a good look at her eyes. He could see it all, even if he asked, she was not going to fight him tonight, and probably not for quite some time. He was her friend, and she probably would never put her heart into it. Even if he wanted to, he probably would not have it in him for a little bit either. "I'll come with you, if you can promise me something." he started to say as he closed his eyes and took in a deep breath. "One day, I'm going to ask you to return that favor. And you're need to say yes." he asked her, obviously referring to the fight that he wanted from her. "But right now, I don't think either of us are good for it. But when the time is right, we'll go all out, no matter what." he said with a smile, his heart getting a little excited just from the thought of it all. "If you can promise me that, I'll go with you wherever the hell you want." he told the girl, smiling a bit more of a genuine smile than his normal demented one. |

Ritsuka comfortably posed with her hands behind her back as Andreas spoke to her, but there was something familiar in his tone. "Wait a second..." She thought to herself, half-listening to what he was saying. Her mind was still glowing from the concert, and even if she had tried to think back, there was all of the stress from the kidnapping that was blocking the way. No, but she remembered. Back before they had even arrived at the concert grounds the first time, the two of them had shared a... Well, a rather embarrassing moment. "Andreas..." She tried to interject, realising that he was probably trying to confess to her again. She avoided looking at him for a moment. The boy had been really good to her and she didn't want to hurt him. He had even come to her rescue and helped all of those hostages! The idol took a deep breath, she had to let him down even if it meant losing him as a friend, it was the only thing that was right. Before she could speak though, Andreas continued. "He... He understands that we can't go jumping into it?" She thought to herself, suddenly feeling a wave of relaxation pass over her. There was a 'but' though, and it was a big one. "Go-go all out?" She replied, her face suddenly glowing just a little brighter. It was difficult for her to blush at the moment, but she pulled it off. What exactly was Andreas expecting from her given a bit of time? She looked to his face and caught the slightest bit of asmile, and her spine tingled a bit. "A-a-a-a-Andreas." She stuttered out, turning away from his growing smile as he continued to talk. The girl tried to say something and just cleared her throat instead, turned away from the young man and facing pretty much a blank wall. "We talked about this before, didn't we?" She asked, her voice just above a whisper. "It's not that he's ugly or something, or a jerk... He's actually pretty nice. I just can't..." Ritsuka took a deep breath and let it out. "You've got to learn to deal with fans like this, Ritsuka! You need to learn to turn them down!" The idol turned around slowly to look at Andreas, who was likely waiting for her response already, but she quickly returned to the wall. She brought up a hand and held it against the wall to support herself. "Learn to deal... Learn to deal... Argh! It's just not fair that he's letting this get between us! Why can't we just... I don't want to break a promise if..." Her mind kept jumping back and forth, trying to figure out what she was going to do. She suddenly felt like something snapped, and she turned around to look at Andreas. "Andreas." She said calmly, looking at him. "I can't promise to agree to anything you ask." The girl told him sternly, puffing out her chest a little bit. "That's just not fair!" She added quickly, before there could be a complaint. "I owe you a lot, Andreas. But I can't just promise you anything when it's... When it has to do with that kind of thing." She cleared her throat, her gaze breaking from Andreas at least for a bit. "No... But I will promise that... I will promise that when the time comes, and you want to ask your favour, I will-" She paused about how to word it. "I can promise that I'll listen to it." Ritsuka seemed to deflate a bit once she had gotten that out. "That's all I can promise. We need to... It depends a lot on our feelings at that point." She explained, looking to the side and then back. Ritsuka kicked at the floor a little bit and turned back from him. "Sorry I can't promise everything." She started, suddenly speeding up and hopping towards the exit towards the dressing rooms. "But we did talk about this before..." She said to herself, stopping at the door and turning around. "That's how it is, Andreas!" The idol called to him, striking a pose and pointing at him. "Now we're headed towards a fabulous vacation at a resort!" She explained, trying her best to change the topic and move on. She left Andreas for the time being and, face flushed with a rainbow of emotions, marched herself down to the dressing room so she could start to pack. "Hmm, do you dress for the hot or the cold in Naia?" Ritsuka asked herself outloud, pausing for a moment to take everything in. She really did need a vacation. |
