As far as your character app goes, Stat Points should be 67 an Regular Technique Points should be 32.

Now then, to me Double Hay-Maker doesn't really seem like a branch at all. All your really doing is, theoretically, doubling the power, and that's more so strength than technique rank. And saying "oh, now I only use half of my arms" doesnt really seem like a branching to begin with (though I probably just repeated myself...) Feel free to ask someone for a second opinion though

well the reason I put it as a branch is because it's how I understood branching

as for my tech points okay then I have edited them (had used a calculator and I guess it added in the decimals from when I calculated it out fully)

rules about branching techniques

according to these rules the branched technique have to be reasonably similar but can have more advanced effects or be more powerful, but the basic actions involved should remain quite similar

I feel that I had done that with this tech, but again you guys are the mods and such so final say is yours I am just offering up my reasoning to why I thought it was a branching tech

I would have to agree with RainingBlades on this one. Branching a technique would require you to keep the 'base' the same while adding something. Your base technique was using 6 arms to deliver an attack. However, now you're just breaking it up into an attack that's completely different.

For example, a branch could be such as the following:

Techniques
Kick! (4)
Type: Offensive
Range:short
Stats:N/A
Description: Timbo throws a kick towards his opponent with his left leg.

This could branch into something like this:

Techniques
Kick it! (8)
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Stats: N/A
Description: Timbo delivers a kick to his opponent but as he does so, he turns his body in order to add a twisting motion to the kick. This added motion increases the power of the kick.

You see in the example where Timbo threw the kick? He also threw it in his branch but added something to it. However, you're saying that you're taking your base 6 arm attack and not actually 'doing the motion'. However, you're breaking it up into another motion. The branch must do what the previous technique did but 'add a bit more to it'. I hope this clears up branching a bit more but please feel free to message here with any more questions.

it's a branching technique I put a question mark as I don't know what the rank would be (or did you mean that at a branch tech it would be a rank 8?)

It'd be rank 8.

The technique name would look something like: Technique Name (8 (4+4)) Branched From [Previous Technique Here]

It is cheaper and stronger.

Listing its new rank and telling what its predecessor's technique is makes you use less TP.

So from Hey-Maker to Alpha, you're going from a rank 4 to a rank 8, making you use 8 TP Total for those two techniques.

Anyways.

Actually, it'll be an additional 12 used(Rank 8 tech + 4 for branching) not 8, but eh, specifics.

Your topic had been reviewed!

No, it's 8.

You pay 8 for the rank 4 and the rank 8; the rank 8 only costs the difference between itself and the next-highest, so in this case 4 on top of the 4 you already paid.
