Name of Island: Las Arcadas Island General Information: Not much of an island as it is a set of platforms in the sea. In the centre is a large pole that emits a strong but subtle magnetic presence like the island that was once in it's place. In the events prior to the capturing of the ex-Shichibukai, Arcadia, the island was utterly decimated by an unknown weapon. Though the island was far too sturdy to meet its end entirely, much of the bustling city on the surface was left in ruins. It was immediately occupied by the Marines, who swiftly got to work rebuilding the island in the image it had lost. Though it has since become operational again, the process is still underway and there are many areas of the island that remain ravaged craters. Las Arcadas is composed of three districts, all of a large metal city full of games and fun. This island is more of an amusement park than a community, run behind the scenes by the Marines as a source of income for their activities. At Night this place shines from far and wide as neon and spotlights advertise it, a true gamblers paradise along with a perfect kids amusement park. Despite the Marine control, many consider it to be a pirate haven due to the lack of actual Marine presence on the island. After all, instead of capturing all unlawful individuals who arrive at Las Arcadas, it is far more profitable to instead extract them of all their earnings. Shape of Island/Map: 3 large metal square plates connected with wide bridges in a triangle shape. A large pole towers into the sky at the centre of the triangle. Weather: Varies, but is a spring island with mild to warm climate. Description: The island consists of 3 districts all on a large metal platform over the ocean. Below each district is an elaborate dock. in the middle is a large magnetic tower that goes all the way into the clouds and works as a form of navigation for the locals. It's easy to tell what district you are in based on the position of the tower relative to your position. Neon North The gambler's district. This area is full of adult entertainment in the form of games of chance, cabaret clubs and fanciest bars you'll find in either end of the Grand Line. Amongst the bright lights there are numerous cordoned-off craters in the surface of the island, sometimes punching several layers into the base of the artificial land. Security is extremely tight around here as between the casinos, clubs and beautiful neon lighted streets, sits the Seagull Corporation that runs this entire Island. While not mentioned publicly, most are aware of the company's identity as simply a front for the Marines. Many suit-clad bouncers patrol the area to assure no one tries anything funny. The home of Seagull Corporation is a large skyscraper that towers over the rest of the district. It is not open to the public, but Marines are welcome to enter and make use of the resources within. Savage South The south is a pirate haven, but one under strict regulation. Though security is laxer here, it is much stricter on the bridges leading to the other districts to make sure pirates do not harass the tourists. High crime rates are bad for business, after all. The district itself is one that is more plain, but there is a large black market here along with many shady taverns and other low class entertainment. The lights are dimmer and the buildings less fancy than Neon North, but the prices are cheaper and everything is much more lax and accessible. There is a presence of the Fishman Mafia here from when the Marines had less of a grip over the island, who are working to free Las Arcadas from World Government hands. Much like the other two districts, craters that have yet to be redeveloped over can be found in high number. However, due to the lower cost of building and lack of desire for quality, most of these craters have small markets and other businesses making do in the slightly more rough terrain. These craters are not cordoned off, and can serve as an entrance to the Underground. Entertainment East A district that consists of a large amusement park. There are a number of roller coasters, arcade halls where you can win prizes and even a few Ferris wheels dotted around, among a host of other fun attractions. Security here is as tight as in the Neon North District, for there are many families with children enjoying themselves here that could not be put at risk. Various mascots patrol the park to amuse children and make it a very E-rated type of entertainment. Aside from various games to win prizes there's also the competitive arcade halls where people can play some of the new flashy high-tech games. One can even pit two robotic fighters against each other. Although many attractions were destroyed when the island was bombed, it is still as popular as it was in the past. Some of the craters have been refurbished into swimming pools, while others are still cordoned off and under development. The Underground As an artificial island, the foundation of Las Arcadas is not simply dirt or rock. It is metal, and has quite a complex array of maintenance tunnels and mysterious rooms below the surface. These were just about inaccessible in the past, but the near complete destruction of the island left many craters across it where entrances to these tunnels have been exposed. Strangely enough, this area is secured by neither pirates nor Marines, purely due to the dangers that can be found in its depths. Old malfunctioning robots that used to work as the island's security, but now indiscriminately target those who stray too close, alongside a host of other traps and dead-ends within the labyrinthine passages. Special Notes: Anyone making trouble on this island can be expected to get kicked off of it or escorted to the docks and forced to leave. Aside from the Savage South district, the island is very safe. Rumour has it the entire Island is owned and run by the Marines, though Pirates are free to enter and leave as they please. The large profit of the island often makes it a target for pirates, but those who manage to get away with any sort of illegal profit end up being seized by the Marines sometimes only hours after.
