"It's a stimulant, of some sort; the euphoria from it's unlike most other drugs on the market." -- the masked Marine had said in response to the younger Cybernetic-recruit. As the Cybernetic-one was rummaging through the evidence locker, the masked Marine continued to look over the jell-esque pills. Reaching back into the box and pulling out one of the baggies that held about five, maybe six pills at most. He looked over to Sol for a moment, "If you're going to be trying to under-sell Restless and Misery, people are going to want to try the product." -- as he spoke, he opened up the small baggy- there were plenty more of them in the box, but he pulled out one of the pills. Of course, he was doing this when Sol's back was turned.

"Making a lab will take too long. If you have the product on hand and let them try it; any junkie will take first grasp at it. But we will need a place of operations near the water." -- the masked Marine surveyed the jell-pill over, and over once more. Glancing down to the clipboard, "It eve says that it has some regenerative qualities. Overtime, of course." -- again, the masked Marine was looking over the pill with one hand, as his other had brought up to his cheek. He could feel the charred skin underneath. It made the man cringe; the memories of pain flooded right back on on the dreadful day. The fingers that had touched upon his face, curled into a fist.

He wasn't a man for alcohol. He wasn't a man for taking an easy way out. To Jaqk's knowledge, the Marines have experimented with Clam Juice- the euphoric feeling and other such side-effects of the substance made it so using it to the Marines and World Governments advantages weren't worth the risk; even if the regenerative abilities did start to show little by little on those with injuries that weren't to ever go away. Wounds from bullets, swords and knives healed with in an hour- maybe longer, depending on how bad it might have been. The addiction to the substance was too high, as well. They couldn't have their men running amok, waiting for their next fix. But even then...

His heart was pounding. His breathes were heavier, but with Sol's back turn, Jaqk slid the bottom of his mask up- the charred skin on his chain, lower-cheek and lips were showing themselves for a moment; but quickly, he took the Clam Juice and swallowed it, pulling his mask down as quickly as possible. The bag that he had opened, had made it's way into his pocket. He had an almost unlimited access to this; and if it began to show progress. Maybe. Maybe he could hang up the coat of 'Masked' Justice.

But Sol finishing wasn't too long after. "That should work just fine." -- there was a bit of.. not-Jaqk in his tone, but you would have to know him well enough to notice the little bits, "Our base of operations will be within three miles of where one of Misery and Restless shops are set-up. You're gonna have to play the role; try to sell it off. Considering that no one on the island would turn you into the Marines, because of Misery and Restless influence. Word will reach them."

"Hmm... Well, I guess giving them samples will work just as well. I just hope the stuff we have here 'kicks' as good as the stuff the targets sell. If it doesn't, then the clients won't even bother with it. Criminals are stingy." Sol looked closely at one of the green pills. Regenerative and addictive? Sounded like one hell of a brew. For him, there was no difference in how Jaqk behaved - he had not noticed that his superior had just taken one of the pills for himself.

Now, it was up to Sol to grab a few of the bags filled with Clam Juice - he had not counted them beforehand, so the fact that one was missing now didn't register with him. He had wisely chosen a coat with deep pockets, both on the outside and the inside, so he'd be able to give out samples and provide assurance for more of the good stuff later to all junkies, once the operation started.

"Well, seems like I'm equipped with the goods. Now all I need is the DenDen you mentioned, and we'll be ready. Gonna be one hell of a trip." Internally, Sol was wondering if he could possibly sneak out one or two bags of Clam Juice and make them disappear from the record... Stealing the DenDen after the mission seemed impossible, since those were expensive equipment. Yet he had never really 'dealt' with drugs before, so maybe it wasn't such a smart idea... Well, if he stole it, he'd probably do it unconciously anyway. Worrying about it right now wouldn't help anyone.

Sol rummaged on the inside of his 'new' coat again, and opened the storage compartment on his side. With a swift movement he took out a small bottle of tomato juice he had kept there for emergencies, opened it, and then emptied it - the remaining glass bottle wandered to the rest of the evidence in this room. Didn't seem as if any more chaos in here would really be noticed by anyone. With this, he'd have fuel for a longer time, too! Giving Jaqk a thumbs up sign, he awaited the continuation of the operation. And with this new outfit, Sol really did look like a dashing and dangerous rogue.

Taking the time when they walked out of the evidence locker, Jaqk had requested a Black Den-Den and a small listening Den-Den that he would later place underneath his mask and in the ear. He had Sol open up the small compartment in his chest and set up the Den-Den inside, it wouldn't move around and would stay in-place. Afterwards, he would tell Sol that they were going to the properly nicknamed 'Wrong Side' of town. There, he was to spend sometime handing out the product to 'taste testers' and would likely sell some of the product. Before leaving, Jaqk did inform Sol that they wouldn't be able to communicate and if he were to get into any trouble, to use the code-word 'hook-line'.

In town..

Jaqk's marine identity wasn't known on the island, at least, not to his knowledge. To a much lesser extent, he had gone 'undercover' as well, ridding himself of any Marine gear and dressing rather casually, as he sat in a local bar in the 'Wrong Side' of town named 'Three Fold'.

Listening carefully, he heard the voice of someone that didn't sound like the junkies that Sol had dealt with, before.

"Oi, you there." -- approaching Sol was a rather large being, it was a Fishman of some sort- though it wasn't restless or misery.

So far so good. The junkies of the entire district, upon hearing of this strange new 'merchant', had been flocking to Sol for quite some time now! This district truly was a wretched hive of scum and villainy. Everywhere he was going, the young marine spotted criminal activities taking place... And, to his own, unsettling realization, Sol felt more at home here than he did at the marine outpost. He really had to get rid of those feeling sometime soon...

For now, Sol was leaning against a wall in a side-alley. It wasn't too small of an alley - big enough for maybe three normal people to walk side by side, even if they had to evade trash piles from time to time, or a sleeping homeless person on the ground. With the hat and coat he had grabbed, he even looked the part of belonging here perfectly - a dashing rogue with confident grin and smile.

Then finally, it happened. Possibly the first lead during the entire day... a fishman! Not one of the targets, though. Sol had made it clear he'd be at the 'usual' spots all around this part of town to the customers - as a former thief, he knew just where those spots could be found. Hopefully, Jaqk never asked why Sol was so good at this job.
With a quick assessment of the fishman, it was clear that he was either an agent of the targets... Or actually a junkie. But finding a junkie fishman here, of all places? Unlikely. Still, the marine could not risk blowing his cover here, and he'd need to play the part - maybe even subdue this fishman alone, since Jaqk could not blow his cover so early either. For now, the masquerade continued...

"Ah, hello my large friend!" Sol stepped away from the wall slightly and turned towards his new 'friend', arms extended to the sides with a wide, but wicked smile across his face - the face of an overconfident criminal that was wading into deeper waters than he knew. But also, this small movement was important to give the swordfighter more space to move, should the fishman decide to attack him right here.
"What brings you to me? Buying? Selling? I'm afraid I don't buy any goods for myself at the moment. But let me tell you, my price is unbeatable! The best at what I do, that's what they call me back home already." With a swift movement, the rogue produced one of the small gel pills from one of the many pockets hidden in this coat. He wanted to keep that coat for after the mission... So many pockets were really nice. The last one of those he bought had been left behind with his thieving family back in Loguetown. With some mental work, Sol stopped his rampant imagination and flipped the pill over to the fishman.
"That one's on the house!"

Jaqk was listening in carefully...

"On the house? Huh." -- as the pill was in the air, the Fishman reached out and caught it, looking it over. The Fishman was tall enough to tower of Sol, but not too tall to be considered a 'giant'. It seemed his skin was salmon in colour, and there were several spots over his body in a darker red; his nose seemed to curl at it's tip, his hair was as a champagne colour with each side of his head shaved down, with a 'lightning bolt' design; a Mohawk that fell back into a pony tail to boot. He was rather lanky, not firmly built, but was in fair shape, nonetheless. He wore a sleeveless shirt, that had two buttons on the sternum and above his belly-button, leaving some of his fair torso revealed, a pair of simple wooden sandals and pants that reached down to barely above his ankles, that seemed to 'puff' out from the knee down.

"I've got wind; that you have been giving out free 'samples' of clam juice." -- the Fishman said as he brought the tip of his finger up to his own cheek; he had sharp, jagged nails. He ran the tip of it over the skin, causing a minor cut to form and his crimson blood started from it. Tossing the pill up, he opened his mouth and caught it, allowing it to slide down his throat with ease. "Hmm.." -- the Fishman was quiet for a moment, as he seemed to be 'testing' the product, as he brought his hand back up to his cheek, and wiped the blood from the self-inflicted cut. The cut seems to have vanished. There was a wrinkle of his nose, and curl at each end of his lips.

"As per request from my employers: You're going to have to quit jack-diddling in their territory." -- the lanky Fishman leaned down to bring himself closer to the face of this 'nobody' that was giving out grade-a product for absolutely no charge. There was a hint if hostility in the Fishman's eyes, but he seemed to be giving a fair warning to the young seller.

"Come on kid.. Reel him in.. Reel him in!" -- they were finally making some progress toward their final goal. If the young Ensign were to successfully reel this in, they were one step closer to Restless and Misery. Here is hoping that the young Sol had a silver tongue, to go along with his silver fingers.

Things were going good so far. Sol watched, without showing any visible interest, as the fishman tried out his 'product' and was apparently even somewhat pleased with the results - nice, so that stuff really did have regenerative abilities. If it wasn't for the addictive nature, the marines could really use this stuff for themselves...
Still, keeping his composure wasn't as easy as Sol thought it'd be. This fishman was the first one of his kind that he saw personally, he really hoped they weren't all this big... But at least the guy didn't seem to have that many muscles.

But now the question was - how should Sol proceed? Obviously, he needed to make big enough of a stir to lure out the bosses of this fishman. But then again, he couldn't just draw his sword and beat the crap out of this fishman infront of him - no normal street-seller of grade-A drugs would be trained enough in the arts of fighting to do that. And honestly, Sol didn't even know if he had the power to beat this fishman in a one on one battle. So instead, he'd try it with words once more...

Instead of backing down from the fishman, the young rogue leaned in closer to the fishman, so that their noses nearly touched one another, with a wide grin on his face.
"Their territory, yes? Well, too bad. I didn't see any signs around here, you know. This is a free market, and I can sell and produce to a good price." Sol laughed a rather dirty, sneering laugh. "So listen up. Tell your employers that, if they want to talk buisness, they have to talk buisness with me. Nothing against you, big guy... But I don't deal with middle-men. This is hard, cold marketing here. We can set up a nice, working deal... Or I can take all your customers as my customers. The next shipment will come in soon, too. Go tell your employers that, will you?"

As if to further mock the fishman, Sol then flipped another two of the gel pills towards him as he backed away two steps.
"Consider those payment for delivering the message."
Hopefully, this was convincing enough. The young marine wanted to appear as a young, aspiring druglord with way too much confidence in both his own ability, money and influence - the kind of person the superiors of this fishman would want to beat into shape personally. ... And well, if the fishman did attack him now after all, then Sol could still resort to trusted and true strategy of 'beat their henchman silly and send him crying back for help'.
