Account Name: Silim

Basic Character Information
Name: Sol Savertin
Nickname: Saver
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Affiliation: Marine
Rank (Commendations): Ensign (0)
Achievements: None
Profession: ~Thief (Primary)
The Thief is a job closely related to the assassin. They both provide stealth capabilities, though a Thief gains lockpicking skills instead of poison knowledge, can generally know their way around the ways of barter and trade, and pickpocketing. Thieves don't have it hard to find 'underground info' in most cities, either. Thieves will gain an extra 10% in Beli rewards in all Storylines they complete (for themselves).
~Weapon Specialist (Secondary)
A much more general fighter-type profession, a Weapon Specialist is someone who has to a large or small degree devoted his/her life to the mastery of a single weapon or weapon type, such as Swords, Axes or Whips. This profession applies generally to melee weapons.
Position: Crewman

Physical Appearance
Height: 1.85 meters
Weight: 105 kg
Hair: Brown, slightly messy hair. Usually held back with a hairband, and the longer ones on the back are kept as a ponytail.
Eyes: Brown
Clothing/Accessories: Basic black shirt without sleeves underneath, similiar to an undershirt. An also sleeveless, red vest is worn over it, which only covers about half of his body and can be closed with a belt at the bottom and a button at the top. Wears a red protector on the forehead that doubles as a means to keep his hair back. Wears a leather fingerless glove on the left hand, with one belt on the upper left arm for added cosmetic value. Also usually wears white pants with another black belt supporting them, and some combat boots to finish the outfit of. If need be, he can also be seen wearing a normal marine uniform.
General Appearance: Muscular, but not overly so, Sol has a sure step and posture about him. Generally seen with at least a faint smile on his face, he doesn't have much of any beard growth to speak of. His face speaks of a certain strength in expression, but doesn't look all that hard or intimidating normally. It can when he isn't smiling but actually looking extremely serious or agressive, though. On closer inspection, there is a faint scar going around his entire left shoulder where it goes over to his arm. The shape is inconsistent, making it clear it is from injury.

The Character
Personality: Sol is a good guy with bad habits, in the most basic sense. He's rather friendly to most people, even possible enemies, as he doesn't see the need to really hate people all that much. It even applies to pirates, if he doesn't meet them while they're pillaging something ruthlessly, of course. The one thing he really hates is being too weak to help himself - but he also dislikes those that are weak and don't actively try to change it, seeing it as cowardly.
On to his aforementioned bad habits, Sol is a bit of a con. Thanks to his former line of work, he's quick to 'sell something above it's worth', and that is not exclusive to money - he overestimates his own ability and strength, and also his capabilities in other fields. For example, he's probably one of the weakest drinkers in Loguetown, yet will still challenge seasoned veterans to a drinking duel at a bar. Alcohol is generally something he enjoys greatly, even though he's weak with holding his liquor.
Another weakness that he desperately tries to get rid of is his infatuation with anything shiny and valuable. As a marine, he's now supposed to protect things from thieves, but may or may not end up stealing things himself if he doesn't get caught. Letting go that old habit really isn't easy, but it comes with some positives, like still being able to tell the obvious signs of where to find shadier characters when needed. While not exactly beating himself up over this habit, he tries to get rid of it to completely 'come clean' as a new marine.
As such, he also doesn't react to corruption nearly as much as he should. You expect young marines to report any corruption with the still fresh feelings for justice, but it takes Sol a whole lot more to react when it comes to monetary corruption and payments - violence is quick to anger him, though.
During combat he's a bit different - while still generally smiling and enthusiastic, he's also a reckless individual when it comes to possible fights and can charge head-first into a trap. He tries to do the right thing, and fails quite spectacularly at times. Not knowing when to call it quits is another sign of his horrendous judgement-making.
The final, glaring flaw is thanks to his past once more - he's likely to let smalltime thiefs off the hook if he feels safe doing so. Sol sees himself in younger people forced to steal, in a way.

Hometown: Loguetown, East Blue
History: Sol was always a trouble maker, starting from an early age. His father was a carpenter, while his mother died at childbirth, giving his old man one hell of a time trying to raise the energy bundle all by himself. Since the moment he could walk, Sol was known for testing out his limits and climbing up on many things.
After these early years were over, he started helping his father with the carpenting buisness. Living in Loguetown made it a rather lucrative job, as a lot of people passed through town daily. But unknown to Sol, his father had started dealing with a shady group to get more money for his work to support his son. One day, when he went out to discuss some deals with those buisness partners, he never returned... Sol was around 10 years old at that point.
Being left alone was devastating to the young Sol. He had no other relatives in Loguetown and knew nobody else to turn to... But then he was found by someone. A thief that broke into the home of Sol and his father. That thief had expected to break into the home of a wealthy carpenter, and not to find a child that had been abandoned here for a few days all alone. Taking him under his wing and back to the hideout, he was introduced to a whole group of thieves - and before long, became one of them.
As a group of shady dealers and cutpurses, Sol's life changed for the better again, oddly enough. He still wanted to find out what happened to his father, where he had gone - but now he had new friends and family, and every day, his old man seemed to take a seat further and further back in his mind. It was an easy job in a town as busy as Loguetown, with many travelers and pirates coming through - and drunks didn't pose much of a threat to agile and quick thieves!
Sadly, Sol was never all that agile, and so he had to learn how to take a punch and maybe deliver one or scare people away. His protector taught him how to use a basic dagger and maybe shortsword, and the young thief went ahead and stole himself a weapon to use outside of practice, just as it was expected of him. The marines were at a loss for finding the group - single members got caught from time to time, but without ever being proven guilty of more than a minor crime, the punishments were rarely severe.
This style of life only changed recently for Sol. He had matured into a rather tall young man - not the picture you'd think of when hearing 'thief', which just made his work easier. But then, his older life came roaring back... When the buisness-partners of his old man turned up in Loguetown again, and even more, employed the services of the small thieves family.
While Sol didn't remember any of the faces of that group, he remembered the voice of their leader, who turned out to be a pirate captain. Upon some careful inquiry while the captain was drunk, he heard the terrible truth - his father had been killed and dumped somewhere off shore into the sea when a deal went bad. That's when Sol started to plan... A plan to bring these pirates to justice while they were still in Loguetown.
To do so, he took a job from the captain, who still didn't know the true identity of Sol. However, instead of actually doing his job accurately, he left a trail of evidence behind - made all the more effective because he was tasked with stealing some keys to the prison of the marine base. To actually get his hands on the keys, though, he first had to get some marines to trust him - so he acted as if he was interested in maybe joining their ranks as a new recruit, asking nice questions, giving out some praise.
In due time, he didn't only gain some trust - but also guilt. He started to like these marines - they weren't like the rich merchants and pirates he was used to robbing. They were honest and good guys, that worried about the general populace and people, for the most part... And Sol began to really consider joining up with the marines, once everything was said and done. Being part of the thieving family was well and good, but he was no fool and knew that one day, he'd be caught with more than just a finger in the purse of some rich guy.

Once Sol obtained the keys - and left the final clues for the marines on where to go - he went to the ship of the pirates, handing them the stolen goods. However, his plan had a rather fatal flaw - he had forgotten to consider how dealing with this group usually went for loose ends. Instead of sending him on his way with a bit of money as payment, the captain decided to dispose of the thief - and had one of his crew members attack the young man.
Desperately he tried to defend himself with the sword, and that actually worked - for a short while. The man he was fighting was a man of monstrous strength and skill - and when he grew annoyed with Sol's sword, he disarmed the young thief - before crushing his shoulder, and nearly ripping off his right arm, with a heavy strike of the mace he was using. Sol passed out almost immedeatly from the attack.

But instead of dying, Sol woke up back at the marine base, with a couple of doctors being busy saving his arm. He was told that the marine had arrived only moments before he would've died, and arrested the pirates - even more, Sol was believed to not be a thief, but simply to have figured out the signs pre-emtively and to have gone after the pirates alone, as he was known for being reckless amongst the few marines he had gotten to know better. That lie was preferable to the truth, so Sol supported it once he heard it.
However, his arm was seriously damaged thanks to the attack, and so he was made an offer - in exchange for the help in arresting the pirates, he'd be given special surgery to rescue the full function of his arm, and more. He'd be made into a cyborg - but only if he also accepted to sign up with the marine corps. From then on, Sol Savertin stopped being a common thief... And became a marine, ready to bring justice to the world.
After the surgeries, he vowed to use his unique talents to help out his fellow marines in catching the real big fish, like that pirate crew, and other worse people - the rather painful results of his first attempt at being a good man being seen as a warning shot to actually do it this time for a real goal instead of revenge - to fight for a good cause.

Abilities and Possessions
Combat: Sol is a reckless fighter that believes in 'offense is the best defense', in many ways. He enjoys challenges and generally fights with the sword in his right hand only, using both blades in situations where he needs all of his skill and strength at once. In the case of getting disarmed, he can also fight with only his left arm-blade, but his signature move requires a sword in the right hand.
Weaponry: Hidden sword of iron quality in his left cyborg-arm, which extends from the wrist over the hand, and a normal iron sword carried on his side used in his right hand. Both swords are 2 and a half feet long.

Fate of the Mighty [1 Trait] - By placing traits in Fated, you lock them until the next time you earn a trait. You may put as many traits as you have into fated. In the meantime, you get a temporary boost of 3 to your stamina stat.

Treasure Hunter (1 Trait) – With their knack for discovering hidden items that don’t necessarily belong to them, these thieves are very skilled in looking for treasures. Thus, in their SLs, they will always get an extra little item. It could be something quirky, or it could be something rare.

I'm assuming you don't want any system for your torso just yet, or something like that, but could you list all the modifications you've made to your body underneath the cyborg trait? Just it's clear for everyone. Also be sure to say the hidden sword is of iron quality.

Made the changes. I need the upkeep costs for my cyborg parts, though.
