Andreas furrowed his brow as he stared down at a piece of paper. On closer inspection, one would see that the paper was a bounty poster, with the name “Andreas,” in big bold letters. Underneath the name was the subtext “The Hyena.” “Andreas the Hyena…? Who the hell comes up with these names?” he grumbled to himself. He was already annoyed by the idea of having to hunt someone down with the same name as him, but he was also generally annoyed by the man’s appearance. His bounty poster was of a blonde man wearing sunglasses and sticking out his pierced tongue. He bore a slight resemblance to Andreas, albeit a little bit more on the rough side, and that was the main reason why he was hunting him down. He could not have some asshole ruining the good name he had tried so hard to make for himself.

Though, he did have his other reasons beyond a personal vendetta. He had recently picked up this new bounty because he figured it would help him pay for a new ship. Currently, his only form of transportation was by hitching rides with people or by stowing away aboard a ferry. It was not the best way of life, but he did what he had to do. For a while, he had only been passing by from every other small island to the other, but he was finally hunting somewhere a little bit more notable.

“We’ll be arriving at Gesso Island shortly!” the ferry captain shouted out. Andreas perked his head up and took a gander out one of the nearby windows and saw the island. He cocked his head a bit as he stared at it and it slowly went out of view as the ship finished its turn so it would be in line with the port. The island looked abnormal, even from afar. It stood out amongst the vast ocean with its lack of color. The boats at the dock and various random splotches of color painted the island and stood out clearly. He looked down at his bags and gave an irritated sigh at one of his new ones. It was a pure white bag, which held several weeks worth of ‘currency’ for Gesso Island. He was pissed off that he had to exchange some belli for paint and clothing, but he knew how the trade of things worked. Hopefully his merchant experience would help him get better deals on however the hell trading colors worked on the island.

About thirty minutes after the ferry captain had made the announcement, sure enough, they had arrived at Gesso Island. Andreas kept still as he waited for everyone else to leave, then took his leave. The moment he stepped off the boat, he felt like he was going blind. The sun was shining brightly that day, and it reflected off the white-coated island, giving it a nice little glow to it all. “Urgh…” he groaned before his eyes finally adjusted to the new scenery. No surprise or interesting detail here. Everything, including the people, was white. He looked down at his black and white outfit, and he realized that he would stick out like a sore thumb. He shook his head and let out a sigh before he set off into town to find the inn he would be staying out while he was on the hunt.

Everything looked exactly the same as he walked down the streets. He was pretty sure he was lost already, but he did not want to swallow his pride just yet and ask for help. He continued to wander around for a bit until he finally decided that it would be a great time to give in right before the sun set. He made his way towards a woman that blended in with her background. With a tap on the shoulder, he called for her attention.

The room was dimly lit with candle light, the sound of gasping mixed with the rattling of chains and the sound of droplets hitting the wooden floor, filled the room. There was humidity in the room that made someone sweat within seconds of entering it. The walls were stained red with blood, still as fresh as an open wound. The fire of the candle light danced as it flickered in the corner, almost mocking the captive in the center of the room. "P... p... please h... help me...." she whispered to no one. Her throat as dry as desert sand, her lips crusty and cracked. Her eyes were as red as the walls, and as low as a slowly awaking baby. The mixture of blood and sweat dripped from her face, arms and legs as she hung on the wall. Her arms were chained up nice and tight, she had tried to wiggle free but it only caused her more pain. "S...somebody.... save... me..." she continued to cry out in whispers.

Suddenly the door on the far end of the room opened up and in entered a man, laughing madly. A crazed look in his eye as he approached the woman hanging in chains. His dry hands caressed her check gently before stroking her hair back and tucking it nicely behind her head. "You've stopped fighting me, finally." he said at last. The woman had put up a fight for several days but finally she just gave in to the man's obsession with her and let him do as he pleased. If it would let her live another day, she would be willing to tolerate it until she was rescued. Or so she thought. "W....why are you doing this to me?" she whispered some more. The man grabbed a cup sitting on a table near by and a pitcher and poured water into the cup. He lifted it to the woman's mouth and held it there, never letting a drop of water touch her lips, just holding it there, full with the liquid she craved so badly at the moment.

"Do you really want to know why? Why can't my motives be kept secrete. Telling you the reason for all of this would just ruin our relationship. But I guess it is human nature to want to know the mysteries of the world isn't it." He tilted the cup gently and let the cold liquid slid down her throat. She swallowed the water in one gulp and gasped for air, it was cool, well not as cool as fresh water but after 28 hours without water, even the room temperature water felt cold to the hot humid skin. "Somebody help me!!!!! Please!!" she yelled out like a new born baby testing out it's lungs. "This again huh, I guess you gave up on your search for my motives." he stated as he moved back to the table and grabbed a blade he had placed on it a few hours prior.

"Please, let me go. I won't tell anyone about you, I don't want to tell anyone. Please, I'll forget completely." the woman cried out to the mad man. The man grinned, his teeth as yellow as the sun. "My dear, why wouldn't you tell anyone about what happened here? Are you ashamed of me? Did you not enjoy yourself?" he asked as he moved back to the woman and caressed her cheek once again but this time with the cold steel of the blade. "I want you to tell everyone about me, memorize my face and body, my hair, my touch, my eye, my jaw line. I want you to be able to see me every time you close your eyes. I want to be the very first thing you think about when you wake up and the last thing you think about when you fall asleep." The man laughed hysterically. The woman shirked in fear as she let out a loud yell. "Please, just kill me, end it all please!".

"As you wish." with one quick swipe of the hand, the man slit her throat and let the blood fall to the wooden floor below. The man continued to laugh hysterically as the blood stopped flowing from her neck and the room became silent. The door suddenly opened once again and another man entered the room. "What shall I do with her now Mr. Andreas?" Andreas looked at the man with another crazed look in his eyes. "Take her home, tuck her in bed, she has had a long couple of days after all. Her mother must be worried." he said as he grabbed an iron pole that was resting on wall over the candle and branded the woman's body with a laughing smile shaped brand.
