Character Template [-----] Account Name: GodOfTheFools Basic Character Information Name: Markus Neva Nickname: N/A Age: 19 Gender: Male Race: Human Affiliation: Pirate Bounty: 0 Achievements: None Profession: Thief The Thief is a job closely related to the assassin. They both provide stealth capabilities, though a Thief gains lock picking skills instead of poison knowledge, can generally know their way around the ways of barter and trade, and pick pocketing. Thieves don't have it hard to find 'underground info' in most cities, either. Thieves will gain an extra 10% in Beli rewards in all Storylines they complete (for themselves). Weapon Specialist A much more general fighter-type profession, a Weapon Specialist is someone who has to a large or small degree devoted his/her life to the mastery of a single weapon or weapon type, such as Swords, Axes or Whips. This profession applies generally to melee weapons. Position: None Physical Appearance Height: 5 Feet, 10 Inches Tall 1.778 Meters Tall Weight: 130 LBs Hair: Dyed dark blue but naturally light blonde. Falls to the bottom of his neck and spikes into natural layers. Eyes: Hetero-Chromatic, his left eye is blue while his right eye is green. Clothing/Accessories: He wears a simple, zip up vest, black with white trimmings, which is very loose around his torso. He also wears a simple pair of blue trousers, the right leg of which is shorter than the other and tattered around the edges and a uninteresting pair of shoes which are a dark brown colour. Lastly, he wears a single pendant which contains a single metallic case, inside of which is the last picture he and his sister took together. General Appearance: His body is slim, but well toned, a single white scar crosses from his left shoulder to his collar bone from an incident which happened as a child, this incident forced him to adorn a cybernetic left arm as well as many other mental scars. His hair is shoulder length and naturally layers in a spiky pattern along the tips and back. His hetero-chromatic eyes, of blue and green, often unnerve people at first, despite the calm, kind look to them. Despite his slim frame, his body is well toned with very minimal fat and has long, flexible legs allowing him agile movements. His face is slim yet well defined with large, keen eyes, small ears and a slim nose. He has thin, bow-shaped lips and well-taken care of white teeth. The Character Personality: Markus is a calm, collected young man. He enjoys the occasional fight but despises people who fight purely to sate their bloodlust. When faced with a situation, he will usually choose a non-violent route if one is available, If one isn't available, he will fight for as long as required, or as long as he is capable of, until the dispute is resolved. Everything changes however if the enemy is someone who has threatened his friends or is someone who can tell him about those he chases. If this is the case, he will fight with an utter fury and will not stop until he either runs out of energy or defeats his opponent. His ability to use stealth is somewhat random as sometimes he can be very stealthy and other times he will be instantly noticed. His keen perception and intelligence however, always allow him to think a plan through before it's execution and judge it accordingly. He will never follow a plan if it means certain death, even if he's ordered to unless his stake in it is too high to ignore. He loves relaxing with his friends and enjoys a good drinking session and also loves playing practical jokes on his friends. He hates people who adore violence and fight for no reason other than pleasure. His only prized possession is the pendant around his neck. When in a melancholy mood however, he can appear to be very cold and hateful. Glaring at any who approach him and otherwise being rude and not interested in the plight of others. Hometown: Loguetown, East Blue History: Markus is an orphan. His Father died before he was born and his Mother died during childbirth. Despite being only thirteen, his sister refused to leave their family home and chose to raise him as well as possible. With the little money they had, she raised Markus from a baby to a young boy in their small home in Loguetown. On his 10th birthday however, tragedy struck the poor Neva family as his sister was brutally murdered by unknown assailants, these same assailants then attacked the poor boy, destroying his arm to the point where it had to be amputated. The marines refused to help for unknown reasons and Markus was forced from his home and onto the streets. With no money and no possessions, save the clothes on his back, he was forced to steal from the market just to live. For several years he lived like this, stealing when he could, fighting others who tried to steal from him, all to survive. By his 13th birthday he was almost certain he would die within a few months. One day, when chasing through the market after stealing some food, he ran straight into a man who would forever change his life. Not that he knew at the time. Apologising profusely, while grabbing as many of the food items he dropped as he could, he dashed away. Jumping over stalls and scrabbling up buildings, all while holding items and only having one arm. As he reached his hideout however, he was surprised as he found the man who he had bumped into relaxing in the chair he had pilfered. Drawing the small knife he had stowed away in case of emergencies, the man simply laughed and drew a single sword, pointing it at the boys throat. This man wanted to train him to become a great swordsman. The chance at a new life, the chance to gain the skill and power needed to avenge his sister, he agreed without a second thought. Not long afterwards, he received his first ever prosthetic arm. For many years, he and his master, who refused to tell Markus his name, trained. He learnt how to wield a sword with one hand while also wielding a pistol in his mechanical arm and soon became very proficient in the blade, using the pistol as mainly a tool. One day however, on his 19th birthday, his Master decided he had taught him enough. Despite his protests, Markus was forced onto a boat and told to find his own way from now on. This is where his story begins. Abilities and Possessions Combat: Fights using a pseudo-offensive/defensive style. He doesn't use strength so much as he does use speed and skill, preferring to tire the enemy out before striking vitally. However, his speed does allow him to act offensively however due to his slim frame he cannot take too much punishment directly. He often uses his left arm, his cybernetic arm, as a shield due to hating it. Markus is also a student of many sword styles and although he has only mastered one, he hopes to learn more overtime. Currently, he has only learnt the first style, Ichiban. In the future, should he use a style against the incorrect type of opponent, he will be open to counter-attacks. First Style [Ichiban] - This style is foundation of Markus' blade styles, and is well praised for being the most versatile. This style allows the formation of both offense and defence to be used together against a single-enemy or a small group. However, this style has the disadvantage of being that it has absolutely no strengths and against a stronger opponent, this style would be rendered useless. Weaponry: Uses a single edged Sabre with a short guard and large pommel resulting in a grip which is just over six inches long. The blade itself is roughly 30 inches long and an inch and a half wide. Weighing only a few pounds, the iron blade is light yet smooth, capable of strong slashing moves and moderately harmful thrusting attacks. Against armour however, it is at a disadvantage due to its slim design. Lastly, he also carries a simple, one shot, flintlock pistol he uses in conjunction with his sabre, mostly as a defensive tool or a distraction should he require space from his adversary. Items: 1 x Pack of Cigarettes. 1 x Flint Lighter in a small metallic case. 1 x Pendant with picture of himself and sister when he was young. Staring at it fills Markus with a melancholy feeling and anger at his own weakness. 1 x Saint Drunk's Bourbon Hunting Bottle: A magical bottle of bourbon with a very fancy shape that makes it look expensive. Tastes just like regular bourbon and aside from the label having some guy that looks a lot like Egoraptor on it, there is no real defining weird thing about it. However once per sl, any character drinking from this will get drunk off their ass no matter the quantity they drank. No exceptions, even Zoro and Nami would get drunk off this stuff. The drunken spree lasts at least for 4 posts. The bottle magically manages to refill itself between sl's. Beli: 500,000 Upkeep: 50,000 SD Earned: 2 Stat Points: 32 SD Remaining: 2 Stats:
Regular Traits: Cyborg (ONE TRAIT)- Cyborgs are humans who have had part of their living tissue replaced with mechanical parts with the goal of enhancing their overall power. These modifications can alter their physical size, increase their defenses, grant them special means of transportation, powerful senses, and even turn them into living weapons. A cyborg's overall strength is determined by the level of technology used and the amount of money invested into their upgrades. Cybernetic upgrades are made by either converting a body part, adding an additional body part, improving an existing body part or adding weapons/features. The strength of the materials used, type and number of parts, maximum upgrade strength, and available weapons varies by technology level. Damage done to the inorganic components of a Cyborg must be repaired and will not heal naturally. Those who cannot perform the repairs themselves must see a trained mechanic between battles. In return for their enhanced powers, they must constantly consume some sort of fuel; the nature of this fuel varies from Cyborg to Cyborg. Cyborgs pay for their fuel and repairs at the end of each SL, this will be a scaling cost of 10% of the sum of all cyborg parts. The upkeep is paid at 1% per post up to 10 where you reach the full 10%. Once you hit 30 posts, you incur an additional 1% upkeep every 5 posts unless you refuel In Character. This negates any additional upkeep above 10%. This progression will look as following: 1 Post = 1% Upkeep 2 Post = 2 % Upkeep ===> 10 Posts = 10% Upkeep ===> 35 posts = 11% 40 posts = 12% 45 posts = 13% ===> Basic Cyborg - This is the most basic level of Cyborg, and the most commonly encountered type in the blues. Markus' Left arm and shoulder replaced with iron cybernetics. Hidden on the arm is a secret panel revealing a hidden space just large enough to carry small items such as spare ammunition, a small knife or other items. This panel is hidden to the extent that you would need to know where it is in order to find it. Weapon Mastery [One-Handed Sabre] (ONE TRAIT) - The character masters the use of a specific weapon type. All techniques involving the weapon get a free one rank upgrade, and the max rank for techniques involving this weapon is two higher than the natural maximum. Fate of the Swift [One Trait]: By placing traits in Fated, you lock them until the next time you earn a trait. You may put as many traits as you have into fated. In the meantime, you get a temporary boost of [# of traits in fated, multiplied by 3] to your speed stat This would therefore equate to a + 3 speed Profession Trait: In Training (1 Trait) - This is the equivalent of Fated for the character’s Professional Skills, but no paths exist for this. ★ Upkeep is 50,000 for the pistol without Marksman primary. ★ I don't think the 1/3rd Defense for your cyborg trait is necessary. Remove that part and if you'd like, feel free to add in a concealed weapon (eg. a knife that can pop out of his arm, palm, etc.) ★ Put in the full trait description for Fate of the Swift. Everything else seems fine. |

There aren't any major issues, I could probably flag you right now, but I thought I'd bring some stuff up in case you'd like to change anything before it's too late. - History: There isn't any problem with having the man who taught Neva how to fight be mysterious and unnamed, however, we just want to make sure that he isn't like, secretly someone super important to the world, like an admiral, shichbukai, yonkou, etc... So, you don't have to edit anything into the history itself, just respond saying that the mystery man isn't anyone too important on the world stage, if you know what I mean. - Cyborg: You can probably afford more than a simple hidden panel in the arm. There's nothing wrong with having just that, but if you had any other ideas for features for your arms, you may still be able to add some now. - In-Training: There isn't any problem with taking In-training with your first professional trait, but just be aware that you cannot convert this first professional trait into a general one, ever. So if you were indeed planning to convert it, you may want to instead spend it on an actual trait and not save it. That's just my suggestion however, nothing wrong with leaving it in In-training as long as you don't plan to convert it. ---- Then there's some smaller things that aren't really big issues, just slight mistakes that need to be cleaned up. - In your weapon specialist description, I think you have an "I" or an "l" left over after the last sentence, so maybe delete that so you can have a beautiful page~ - Copy+Paste the whole description of "In-Training" (If you do keep it) - Be sure to mention that the pistol is iron/iron-quality - In your techniques, in the stats section, replace "Speed/Accuracy" and "Strength" with N/A. The stats section is there for supportive techs that buff or debuff a target, you put the amount of buff/debuff your technique does to a stat (for example, +2 strength, -2 speed, etc...) Since your techniques are not buffing or debuffing anything, put N/A. - I also have a hetero-chromatic character :3 --- Alright, just reply with whatever changes you made and then I think I can flag you. |

Though part of the character's story, his master is of no consequence to the world itself so there nothing to worry about there ;) He's not a high ranking individual in any way, shape or form. I intend to have him upgrade his arm eventually through storyline (hopefully and as it was his teacher who gave it to him, he had no say in how it was created hence why no weapon, for now. ) I'm keeping in training so once he earns his second profession trait I can apply it to master of a certain weapon. I'll get rid of the stats part =] Also, yep I'm aware that all starter equipment is iron ;) And lastly, damn, I thought I got rid of any extra letters :') Super lastly, hetero-chromatic eyes are awesome. |

Done, though instead of putting a specific location I've just made it more general by removing the specific part. The original intention of the move was that it could be aimed at any part of the body, hence the whole "Location can be guessed by rotation of the spin"

Done, I didn't include the number of traits placed into those because it did not ask for it within the character template. I only put how many traits for Fate of the Swift due to the number of stat points added being dependent on the number of traits added to that trait added.
