Account Name: Dogart

Basic Character Information
Name: Alistair Sebastion Fibonnaci
Nickname:
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Affiliation: Pirates
Bounty: 0
Achievements:
Profession:
~Doctor
A Doctor, on a ship or otherwise, gains large medical knowledge. They also get various other related knowledge in terms of poisons, nutrients, animals, anatomy and certain history. Suturing and cleaning wounds, making bandages out of various materials and preparing drugs, is all part of a Doctor's job. Doctors are the only ones capable of healing serious injuries on the crew. They also do not need to pay upkeep on the drugs/poisons they use.

~Inventor
An inventor is a man or woman with knowledge in how various mechanical devices work. They have good insight in how blueprints work, and can upgrade weapons, build explosives and battle engines if they have enough materials.

~Scientist
A scientist is a different name for those primarily interested in chemistry, the making of explosions and poisons, gas or the like. They get primarily the same basic mathematical skills as the Inventor, and a lot of knowledge about various materials.

~Entertainer
An entertainer makes his/her living through putting on shows. This profession is always specialized towards a specific type, and includes Dancer, Musician, Juggler and many more. Knowledge granted is job-specific.

Position: None.

Physical Appearance
Height: Five foot ten
Weight: 120lbs
Hair:
Alistair's dark brown hair is long and unkempt as he allows it to remain in whatever position the wind may blow it and seems to have no concern for whether it looks dirty or silly. When he believes he will be remaining in doors for the lengthier part of the day he will comb it straight. Ultimately his belief is that if the wind is going to mess it up anyway then whats the point in maintaining it?
Eyes:
A sickly poisonous green hue shades his iris' with pupils that are more often than not dilated, whether this is because he samples his test medicines himself and is constantly drugged under their effects is unknown but more than likely true.
Clothing/Accessories:
Stripped of the clothes that he enjoys wearing Alistair's thin frame is draped in naught but stained rags and torn pants. A long strip of cloth is tied around his waist to keep his modesty in place. His feet are bare as are his hands and he has no jewelry to speak of. Everything was peeled away from him prior to him being marooned. He doesn't mind though, he never had anything of physical value to begin with.

Should he have the opportunity to get his claw-like fingers on some proper garments however he would abstain himself from those distateful rags and outfit himself in something more becoming. A white shirt. Nothing more, nothing less. Long sleeves with the cuffs rolled back, untucked with the top button undone. The state of the shirt is of no concern to him and thus it might have the odd rip, tear or stain. He is by no means a neanderthal however and will replace overly worn clothing. Smart pants are required to hide his gangly legs, usually black though he has been witnessed wearing other colors, even pink. He also requires a belt at all times as his tiny waist is never enough to fill the requirements of regular waistlines without spending money on having his pants specially made. Heavy duty black boots, usually with steel toe's if only because they are incredibly durable and don't have to be replaced as much as other types of footwear.

In cold climates he wears a bulky long grey overcoat to keep himself warm, it also serves to make him look a little more muscular than he actually is. This is usally combined with an equally dull colored scarf.

On his person, usually in his pocket or hanging around his neck he keeps a pair of tinted goggles for when he needs to protect his eyes from the sparks caused by his inventions and an object that covers his mouth and functions much like a gas mask. The mask leaves everything but his mouth uncovered and gives his speech an odd tinny tone.

General Appearance:
Alistair almost never draws himself up to his full height, walking in a relaxed state with his head and shoulders loose, as such he doesn't appear to be very impressive at first glance. By no means is he horrific to look at but his overall appearance may give some people reason to pause when dealing with him. His lithe body and gaunt features give him the appearance of being slightly malnourited, even sickly when combined with his unnaturally pale skin and the dark circles around his eye's. One would think that he may have recently recovered from his own death bed. His eye's seem dull, half lidded and unresponsive as he sometimes stares off into distance. A thin partially hooked nose sits inbetween these eyes with analmost colorless and equally thin lipped mouth below it, always expressionless. His cheeks seem to naturally cave in on themselves giving him the look of a starving man, this look being further implied by his scruffy chin stubble.

When excited his eye's grow wide and seem to light up like two oddly shaped television screens, he becomes more prone to smiling at things that he finds amusing and speaking a little louder than is his norm. In essence his whole being seems come to live with an awkward radiance, made awkward because it is not a state of being he is often in and is thus not used to it. For those who are used to his droopy and at times gloomy demeanour, this side of him would be an odd sight indeed.

Should he be angered then Alistair makes use of his full height, his whole being seems to rise in an impressive display of authority. Despite his lanky features and weak looking disposition none can hold a greater presence in a room while angered than Alistair. The way he carries himself in his rage, so poised and refined that it would hard to guess that he ever walked with a hunch at all.

The Character
Personality:
The majority of the time Alistair seems a little out of it. He doesn't appear to have a purpose, no structure to what he does, he simply exists. He can be a little unpredictable, he acts like he doesn't care about the well being of others but the moment anybody gets hurt he instantly goes into Doctor mode and attempts to help. He just can't help himself whether it be his insatiable love for medicine or that deep down he actually cares about the lives of others, it's up to the individual to decide upon meeting him. One thing that never changes however is the way he speaks, whether he means what he says or not his tone of voice is always flippant and without care. Some people often mistake his words for mockery, these people do not know Alistair. Should they be offended however then he truly see's no reason to care. It is the person who took offense who is at fault not he who was speaking sincerely.

The most common mistake people make is to assume that Alistair is a cold hearted man, to those people he asks: "Would a sane man with a cold heart choose to become a doctor?" Of course the second mistake people make is to think that Alistair is insane so his words are usually met with confusion and apprehension. Admittedly his mind may be a little addled but he is by no means the maniac people would believe him to be. His mind may have lost grip of the wheel because he had one bad day, but it hasn't yet let go of it. Often performing actions that seem to have no rhyme or reason or carrying out tasks that are completely nonsensical, but he isn't dangerous. Is he?

It takes some very specific things to work Alistair up enough for him to get excited, usually a good enigma or anomaly, something that he can't explain does the job pretty well as he is fascinated by things that don't make sense. He longs to make sense of the nonsensical, to give names to the nameless, to see the unseen and comprehend the things that should be beyond his comprehension. Failing that one may take the more difficult route of getting him drunk. Alistair is one of the few pirates who don't drink alcohol. When intoxicated however his attitude mimics that of the party, a lively party means a lively Alistair, a dull party means...Well...Alistair.

It could be said that Alistairs anger brings out the best in him as he doesn't seem to be afraid to speak in a confident, commanding yet scarily calm tone of voice. His eloquent speech is more than present during these times, using his full arsenal of words and large repetoire of knowledge to berate, explain, mock, disprove and challenge his opponents. A more analytical person upon witnessing this would be able to see Alistairs true capablities. He has the ability to lead, the charismatic skill to inspire loyalty and the determination to bull rush anything in his way. But for some reason he doesn't. He slinks away into the background, allows others to lead for him, detaches himself from the spotlight. Why? Because he enjoys it. He has no desire to be responsible for the actions of an entire group. He'll leave that up to the braver and in some cases dumber members of society.

Hometown: The Island of Steam - West Blue
History:

In a secluded patch of sea in West Blue lies the Island of Steam, a fairly small stretch of land big enough for a small town to sit on one side of the island and an industrial sector to sit on the other. The industrial half of the island is littered with a great number of steam geysers that the locals use to power their wonderous machinations and inventions. Steam harvesting fascilities pump the steam into factories where it is both used to power machines and contained so that it can be transported to the other side of the island where the citizens use it to aid them in every day life. Sitting inbetween these two halves is a huge volcano that has remained dormant for centuries. As such the island is incredibly hot and doesn't allow much room for agriculture forcing the citizens to trade their magnificent steampunk gadgets and gizmo's to the neighbouring island of Andthisiswhere for high quality goods and food. The Island of Steam is also the birthplace of our dear Alistair Sebastian Fibonnaci.

From an early age Alistair learned the ways of the island and began tinkering with gears, cogs and scraps, enfusing them with steam and help from family and friends and creating primitive contraptions akin to childrens toys. His creations, while not good enough to be considered for overseas trade sold rather well in local markets. As he grew however he found this heart just didn't seem suited to the intricacies of mechanical creation and instead shifted his gaze upon medicine and biological science. While these things weren't at all frowned upon in the society on the island it was a rather small majority, not many people could teach him and those that could simply weren't willing. His only other option was to teach himself and thus endless hours of practice, reading and experimentation were invested into his love for science of medicine. His tinkering career was hung up on the shelf marked "Hobbies."

At some point in his life Alistair became a man and fell in with a gang of pirates who appreciated his wide range of skills and recruited him as the ship doctor, he sailed with that crew for the better part of twelve years comitting petty crimes. One particular adventure of theirs landed them on the island of Karaoke where Alistair discovered a love for singing and found himself to be a rather able-voiced performer despite his appearances saying otherwise. It was here that he gave his old Hobby Invention a companion and added Entertainer to the shelf of things he enjoyed doing in his spare time.

For some reason or another Alistair took a turn for the worst. One day, out of the blue he murdered half of his crew. Nobody knows how he managed it or why he did it, the half of the crew that he left alive figured that he just went nuts and fearing his ability to murder several dozen men single handedly they marooned him on an island and left him for dead. He put up no resistance and simply allowed them to push him to shore before pulling up the gangplank and sailing away into the distance. He is there now, still on the island, dressed in rags, waiting.

Abilities and Possessions
Combat: Wherever possible Alistair would try to avoid combat as he isn't exactly the best fighter in the world. When his hand is forced however he prefers to remain at a distance from his opponent, applying debuffs and buffs where needed and observing his opponent to try and accurately gauge their ability before carrying out hit and run tactics.
Weaponry:
Alistairs primary weapon is a Clockwork Pistol, a weapon that looks similar to an old flintock pistol with the only difference being that it appears to be made of wood, iron and brass and there are a few tiny gears in place of the hammer and tray.

His secondary weapon is a simple iron cutlass, nothing more and nothing less. A well taken care of slightly curved blade with a basket that surrounds the hand to prevent swords from slicing his knuckles. The basket also proves a rather effective punching weapon when inside an opponents guard.
Items:
Rope
Lamp Oil
Scalpels
Needles and medical thread
Bandages
Stethoscope
Various bottles filled with medicinal pills and liquids
Syringes
Tweezers
Toolbag and basic tools
Empty Beaten Locket

Special Technique Points: 4 (Skilled use of Medicines) 4 (Brilliant Mind)

Techniques
Vaccine (4)
Type: Supportive
Range: N/A
Stats: N/A
Description:
This technique can only be used once Alistair has been afflicted by any negative or positive biological malady E.G. Poison. This technique is used to take a sample of his own blood which he can then research and develop a vaccine for that particular or similar malady. The benefits of this technique include: A temporary immunity to the EXACT malady the vaccine is based on and a temporary 50% reduction to the affects of any similar malady of the same rank as this tech. The fruits of this technique (The vaccines themselves) can only be used after the thread in which Alistair took the sample. Vaccine works against techniques of the same rank or lower ONLY. Only one vaccine can be developed for every time Alistair is afflicted with a particular malady.

Painkiller (4)
Type: Supportive
Range: N/A
Stats: n/A
Description:
Alistair administers a particularly strong painkiller pill to the target that can not only numb the painful experience of his surgery technique but can also numb the pain of attacks.

L.O.I.D (Loud Ocular Interruption Device/Loid, pronounced Loyd) (4) (Special TP/Brilliant Mind)
Type: Supportive
Range: Long/Mid range
Stats: N/A
Description:
Alistair deploys a small brass box that becomes a robotic creature with a box body and almost a dozen thin gangly appendages sticking out of it. Upon being released this device responds to anything that comes within five meters of itself or touches the box with the exception of Alistair himself and immediately targets that person. It then sprouts all of it's mechanical appendages, sprints noisily towards the target and leaps directly into their face, waving each of it's long metallic arms frantically, jerking all over the place and shrieking gibberish at the top of it's manufactured voice box. The purpose of this little device is to distract the opponent, forcing them to deal with it before dealing with Alistair and his allies or to prevent a marksman from shooting for just long enough to find cover. The front face of the box has a penal that flips over upon being deployed to reveal a cute little face with an excited expression. The style of the device is very reminiscent of Alistairs days as a toymaker. The device is incredibly fragile because of this and is broken by simply swatting it aside.

Clockwork Bomb (4) (Special TP/Skilled Use of Medicines)
Type: Offensive
Range: Mid/Long range
Stats: N/A
Description:
This is a fairly simple device. Using his scientific skill Alistair has manufactured a bomb that contains a number of separate chemicals that when combined produce a terrible explosion. The clockwork gears found in the handle of the bomb have a two second timer represented by a gear. Once the gear has ticked into the correct position the chemicals in the bomb are mixed causing the bomb to detonate. The bomb looks like a simple brass ball with two glass windows allowing the inside workings and gears of the bomb to be seen, attached to a stick, to begin the timer a button at the bottom of the handle/stick is pressed. The total injury radius of the bomb is about fifteen meters because of the brass and glass shards that result from the explosion.

Italicize primary professional bonus

"He can be a little unpredictable, cold and uncaring one moment and then speaking words of concern and worry the next." - Yeah, no. Right there you are basically saying that they have split personality disorder, which is not acceptable. Can't have you going from being incredibly evil to morally good on a whim just because.

I know you say it almost immediately in your History section, but can you add West Blue after island name in Hometown?

"wood metal and brass" - I'm assuming you meant to have comma(s) in there instead of making a new material called "wood metal". So specify metal (starter weapons are normally mainly iron quality)

Specify material quality for sword.

Let me (or another mod) get back to you on upkeep....

SD Earned: 0

SD Remaining: 0

Used for Fortune: 0

You can't just fix any wound with Surgery. That's like saying you could reconnect amputated limbs. And for the stuff you could do, you wouldn't even need a tech really considering your a Doctor.....

Wait, so basically you're saying Vaccine can make you resistant to any disease/poison tech you encounter for all future sls? Yeah, I'm going to say no, because that's just getting ridiculous.

No to loid. You can't just make robots at rank 4. Actually I'm not sure you'd be able to do that at any rank really...

Clockwork Bomb would just make a small explosion, not a terribly big one like you seem to be implying. So include a range of the area effected by the bomb.

State which techs are using Special Technique Points and which ones (Brilliant Mind or SUM)

Instead of making seperate technique tables, just add [c] in front of the next technique instead of
Which also means getting rid of all of the excess
s

I'm pretty much fine with inventors making 'toys' that have clearly defined jobs, no relevant stats, and can't think for themselves. It's not that different from a mook.

I'd put LOID closer to rank 8 myself though.

Profession italicized.

I've further explained what was perceived to be a flaw in his personality. It no longer looks that much like a total 180 attitude change for no reason.

Hometown location specified.

Grammar and material issues corrected in regards to the characters weapons.

Surgery has been removed.

I did state that vaccine's effects were temporary but to make it more clear I've explained that only one vaccine can be made for every time Alistair suffers from a malady.

LOID's functionality has been limited to warrant the rank 4 rating. His wings have been removed and a special AOE condition has been placed upon his function. His fragility has also been outlined.

Clockwork Bomb explosion range specified.

Special TP distribution specified.

Techniques table cleaned up.

Eh I don't like how he randomly murdered a bunch of guys, and the justification as far as his personality goes is "Eh hes randomly crazy." But I kind've see what you're going for and I'm okay with it.

I'd be okay with vaccine as long as it only halfs the effects of other rank 4 maladies.

Fix that in the tech and cool. I'll still flag you at this point.

I see what you mean. I've limited the effects as requested.

As for the lack of explanation as to how and why he offed half his crew: I don't want to give EVERYTHING away from the get go now, do I? ;D
