Alright, so I've got a few made-up traits I'd like to submit, I'll just write the ones I have in my head now and come back later to submit some moar.

1. I've heard that percentage traits (traits that give you a certain percentage more/less of something) can be boosted, can I boost the merchant trait (Tough Bargainer) with a trait point so it gives something like 30% instead of 20%, and in that case, how much can they be boosted?

2. Another merchant-related thing, there is a trait for thieves and navigators only (I think) called Treasure Hunter, which basically gives you a nice little bonus gift after each SL. I feel that that trait should be available to merchants, since they often scout the markets for rare items they could buy to keep or sell. So, is there any way to get around this and get it for merchant?

3. So there are traits that increase your tech points, your stat points and your beli rewards. Can you get traits that increase SD awards? Like, a trait point that gives you 10% more SD (i.e 1 SD for every 10 SD you get in the same SL).

4. Fishman traits. So you get the fishman trait, but you feel like there are stuff a fishman could perhaps do, but you don't have a trait for it. Like, a jellyfish fishman that gets a trait for regenerating damage whenever you are in a resting mode (sleeping, eating; just generally not fighting and feeling secure). Or will all fishman bonuses, no matter what type, be fitted into the fishman trait? It feels like there should be some that can be gained outside of it, since for all I know, the fishman trait can only be used when you create your app. Things like getting a thicker hide, becoming better at swimming or just things you want to become better on.

1. Depends on how much you are trying to boost it. You aren't actually boosting it, but making a custom trait that gives more of that particular bonus for more traits.
2. Make a custom trait for it, what you just put was sound logic.
3.No.
4.Fishman abilities are determined by the type of fishman and the traits spent on it. There is a Jellyfish fishman NPC I think he has 5 traits just from being a fishman due to regeneration, paralysis, something else, and the base 2 traits needed for fishman. You can upgrade the traits you get from fishman as you get more traits, you would apply for it like you would a tech and wait for it to get approved.

Put them on your app if it's the first time creating the character/scooping. If you're adding on with new traits after the fact, use here

Alright, got some more questions.

If you get a Trait NPC (like beast handler or lab assistant), do they get profession bonuses?
... Or can they get any trait (including those that gives out discounts to all crewmembers) they have affinity to?

Can the mad scientist trait be used to turn somebody completely different, like turning them into an animal or such?

No, npcs don't. They don't receive any bonuses from the profession they take, including the ability to take profession traits.

No, mad scientist enhancement are actually pretty minor. While they can give you some very nice traits, they can't completely change the makeup of a character.
