I know these ideas are really rough, but they're the basic concepts I'll be basing my a few of my future desired inventions and a custom trait that I eventually want. Not sure if this topic should go here, but it'd be a big help even if the answer to this post was, " __Insert name___ is totally possible". The gloves would be a little pricy since they would be priced off of a special ability rather than the actual material used, but they would probably be doable, however, they would be limited. Firstly, they would only protect against slashing attacks, piercing attacks would still get through, as the physics behind your idea would not work with stabbing attacks. Secondly, they would only be able to block slashing attacks up to a certain technique Rank. It won't be a very high rank, but they could still be useful early on. By stage 2 you're going to need to start upgrading the material. You can give inventions special abilities through smart design, but there are limits, and cotton will not carry you very far. Unfortunately, you're not allowed to have your own coating machine last time I checked. Thats something you have to pay for once you hit Red Line, and no one's allowed to be a coating engineer themselves. That was the last I heard on the matter at least. The trait is a big time no-go. You're not allowed to make a replacement for Haki. When it comes to Haki there is no substitute. The only way to bypass a Logia is through their elemental weakness or Haki. Life Return is a trait already, and you are welcome to think of a way to use it to augment your martial arts. I think it can even give stat buffs if you use it right, but don't quote me on that, we haven't had many people use it yet. You could also create a custom trait involving strength of will. I believe someone has a trait that allows them to ignore most minor injuries for a time and continue fighting at full strength using their willpower. So if they took some not-too-serious damage at the beginning of the battle, they could continue fighting at full strength for a time, temporarily ignoring their injuries. Thats the kind of stuff you can do. Even with a combo of Custom Will and Life Return, there is no giving your willpower physical form. Haki, and only Haki, can do that. We accept no substitutes for Haki here. |

For the the gloves I was mostly banking on, It's one piece so eff it" for later stages, but it sounds like the first one will cost a lot and not really be of any use by the time I have enough money to buy it. The materials if I decided to ugrade them would be something entirely different, but still be some sort of fiber. Just not sure how a steel plate on the palm would work out. Well that's fine if the coating thing is a no-no and the trait/technique thing as well. I thought it was a neat idea even if it couldn't really replace haki. I just wanted some sort of willpower based power, but not if someone already has the idea. Thanks for the help, been bugging me a for a while |

What about something like projecting killing intent and breaking someone's concentration so that they can use they abilities properly like Zoro did? What rank do willpower/spirit buffs/debuffs start.

Zoro knows Haki. When you get haki you can create your own versions of the different types that use it in different way. Edit: Through your haki techniques, I mean. Edited by Yuan, Jan 9 2013, 02:04 PM.

What type of haki does zoro know? it seems like his "cutting nothing" is color of armaments, but he hasn't demonstrated that on a logia. Not sure when I've seen him use observation, or was his demonstration the conquering king haki?

That wasn't even haki and if anything it was similar to kings haki which Zoro doesn't have. That was simply she shit herself since Zoro was that scary. And no you couldn't really make a tech like that since that would be controlling the emotions of another character.

I figured it was a godmod Edit: But how are other techniques which throw people up, knock them down, and outright poison them; not godmodding? Edited by Baconarmy, Jan 9 2013, 04:11 PM.

entertainers their "influence" is mostly flavor for debuffs/buffs though it can be rp'd out but its not a definite thing. as for Bacon your second question those are all things that can be avoided and rp'd out and have involvement from both sides. |

It has been stated the Zoro, Luffy and Sanji all supposedly have Haki, but truth-be-told we haven't really seen confirmation that Zoro and Sanji do actually have it, or what types they use. Zoro is just an intimidating guy, we've seen it before. However, to incorporate that kind of intimidation into the RP, we'd have to install an entire new system for intimidation factor and resistance, and we're not going to do that. Its just much more complicated than it needs to be.

Entertainers use music, dance or some sort of performance to cause a debuff/buff to targets, but they have to be performing to get the buff/debuff, which makes them more useful as support fighters. There's no ability that lets you smile at an opponent and cause a debuff.
