I'm glad you partially agree, Chips. This was what I had in mind: Spoiler: click to toggle If you look at the rank you'll notice that by the time you'll be able to first get Haki your character will have 82 SD (32 you started with and the 50 you gained to enter the Grand Line). Which means if you haven't invested any SD in your Fortune stat that it will be 20.5 (say 21). Which means you can only get techniques to the rank of 10 and lower. So what this does is motivate people who want to become Haki users to invest in Haki's main attribute in my opinion "Fortune". Now when you pick Awakened Haki you are allowed to pick a specialisation. If you pick the one of the first two than you'll get the 1st technique for free while you have to buy the other one. If you pick dormant specialisation then you have to pay for both. When you get Disciplined Haki those techniques' ranks are upgraded to 28 (going on the technique rank thingy) and depending on what your specialisation is you'll get one free or have to pay for both. If you picked Conquering King Haki and the roll is done successful you get that technique for free. When you finally get Strong Spirit your Haoshoku Haki is upgraded to rank 28 while your others are upgraded whatever rank staff deems fit for the final upgrade (say rank 44) while rank 28 is Haoshoku Haki's final upgrade. The reason it should be capped there is to make sure Haki users' power do not become omnipotent. Upgrades will allow stuff like using Haki more times per post/SL and more frequently per SL. The reason why Haoshoku Haki is capped lower than the rest is that even the Dark King Rayleigh claimed he could not use that technique again after knocking out the people in the auction house. Regardless the potency of your Haki will grow as your stats increase. So don't worry about that. So what do you guys think? Edited by Chizzah, Feb 8 2012, 11:38 AM.

How many times do we have to repeat ourselves on this... You're actually making observation worse than it is now. And you're buffing Armour to an extreme amount. hitting DF users like they were normal people is a rank 28 move, how is it so hard to miss? Are you rounding 20,5 up?!? Honestly, I think you don't grasp the current system enough to be making such suggestions to a system we already have. What we have now works, there are several example techniques on how haki works and members can use custom variations of it. Can we please end this now because ontop of what we are trying to do already, a second revision of haki is really unnecessary. Like 3 people only even have haki on the entire board. It's not broken, it's not even popular, it works just fine as it is now. Freeforming haki is too much. |
