Ok, so I've been trying to find the right devil fruit for me, and I've dug through the devil fruits ahoy topic quite a bit, and I've settled on one that I like, but there is no indication as to whether it has been approved or not. The devil fruit is as follows: Kino Kino no Mi (Joke on the word kinoko Which means Mushrooms) Paramecia The eater of this fruit becomes a Mushroom man, capable of taking on all the likeness and abilities of an everyday mushroom. Their skin becomes rather soft and squishy while their head's top is altered to take on the appearance of a mushroom's cap. They develope thick and obvious viens over their entire body and tend to give off a rather nasty smell from all the fungi. Their body acts as the stalk and doesn't change their bodies color and build as a whole. Developing Spores, spreading them via touch, or airborne skill can be preformed with further understanding and control over this power. It is also possible for the user to plant their hands and or feet into the ground to recover and regain at a higher rate with higher levels of understanding as well. Due to the nature of this fruit the user becomes horribly weak against flames and any and all spores can be removed and destroyed when exposed to them. Initially I took it at face value, a 'clever' attempt at a penis joke. Upon thinking it over, I believe this devil fruit is salvageable(that is, if it hasn't been approved). My main reason for this belief is it's parallels with another fruit. Uddo Uddo no Mi (Wood) Paramecia The user becomes a "woodman". Their body acts as if made of living wood. They are springy and resilient, and almost immune to blunt attacks. When they are hurt, the wound quickly fills with sticky sap. Rather than eat and drink, the user may instead opt to spend several hours with their feet burried in the soil, during daytime hours, with plenty of water and such. This act also helps them to regenerate wounds, which otherwise are difficult to treat. Side effects may include leaves and berries, and a strong fear of termites. They do seem similar in regards to direct applications, but, at a fundamental level, one is a plant, the other is a fungi. This allows for me to reform the original description of Kino Kino to separate the two from each other in an attempt to reduce overlapping. Kino Kino no Mi (Mushroom) Paramecia The user become a "mushroom man". Their body acts as if it is made of spongy mycelium. They are soft to the touch, and are quite squishy. Blunt attacks of excessive force cause the users body to crumble, but given enough time, chunks can grow back. The hair of the user tends to grow out into the form of a mushroom cap, and if allowed to grow to sufficient size, will produce spores. The user of the Kino Kino no Mi no longer has to eat if they can find a dark, damp area with sufficient organic material to root into. The user and spores produced from their "cap" are quite susceptible to fire. |

What kind of things can you do with the spores? That might need to be specified. I can see the spores causing overlap with multiple fruits depending on what they do. |

Seeing as they're spores, and even more so, originate from a likeness to mushroom, regardless of what they do, it shouldn't overlap with anything. |

I would like to point out that nowhere does it say that the eater would be able to freely manipulate the spores with his mind. It simply says that if they let their hair grow into a full mushroom cap it produces spores. I do not believe I need to elaborate on the fact that one can't control spores with their mind. Mushrooms don't do it so a mushroom man won't do it. The spores were to add some flavor, and some potential techniques for those who know of dust explosions. Flammable particles spread through the air tend to cause large explosions. Other than the fact that they are mushroom spores, it doesn't have much relation to Noko Noko no Mi, which I would like to point out, is not approved so there would be no overlapping. A final point is that the word "Mushroom" in this case refers to the simple white button mushroom, a non toxic edible fungi. As it was left vague as to whether the spores would be poisonous, I would say no, and if need be, I will clarify that in the description. If the mods have no qualms with the spores being poisonous, then I will leave it as is because it would add some new applications of the fruit. Edited by K1ngIsBack, Dec 17 2011, 07:57 PM.
