Lokan watched Eric climb onto the other ship. There really was no need to board the other ship, just retake their own and get out of here. However judging by the face Eric had been indulging Lokan’s interests today he would let the swordsman go on a little rampage and do whatever he wanted. Meanwhile he would take care of the brutes on his ship. As he walked into the first room of the ship he was instantly greeted by a man in a kimono and wielding a katana. The man noticed Lokan and rather than pulling out his blade he bowed. Lokan was a little taken aback, why was this bounty hunter being polite. That wasn’t something that usually happened. Then the man started to talk. “Hello there. My name is Kenichi Fudou. I am going to be your enemy. I see you are a man of the sword just like me. Let us see if you can defeat my style. It’s been passed down through my family for generations. The Devil’s Walk. Now may ask you noble opponent. Which style do you follow?” Lokan raised his eyebrow and laughed. “You have no idea how much of a fool you look like right now Fudou. I don’t fight with a particular style, just swinging this thing around strategically. I guess it’s called Hydraulic Style, most people find it pretty cheap though. I’m not a very nobly person, just to let you know. So let’s begin.” With that Lokan rushed forward, drawing his katana from his sheath as he ran. Immediately, he swung his katana and the two blades clashed. Fudou grinned slightly and rated his blade so that the blunt end was holding Lokan back. Then he pushed, forcing Lokan back, and made a 360 degrees turn so that the sharp end was facing Lokan. The scientist gritted his teeth. There was no way he could block with his katana. He however did manage to stop the swing his gauntlets. He breathed a sigh of relief and stood up. He was going to need to go more all out if he was to defeat the threat in front of him. He rushed forward a second time. The maneuver he was going to attempt was going to be dangerous for him, but if it payed off he would be in a much better situation. As he neared the man, he braced himself for the attack. Fudou did the exact same thing he had done last time. Lokan grinned, what an idiot. A scientist was good at something known as 'thinking'. When you try and repeat the same thing again and again you aren't going to get very far. The Bounty Hunter spun around the full 360 but by that time Lokan was no longer in the path of the blade. He had stepped backwards and watched as the blade sailed past where he would have been just a few seconds ago. As the blade slowed Lokan used his gauntlets to grab the weapon. He grinned at the terrified look on the swordman's face. What an idiot. Lokan then kicked the man in the face. The Bounty Hunter swore and gritted his teeth. He spat out blood and Lokan grinned. He used the bladed end of his right gauntlet to cut the man in his right arm, the one that was holding the blade. "King, you little piece of shit. I'm going to catch you and put your bloody head on a pike for the world to see. You won't even be able to regret the day you screwed with me." Lokan chuckled a little but it was at that moment Fudou had managed to take advantage of the fact the scientist had let go of his blade with one arm. He yanked away and used his left hand to hold his blade. He then proceeded to knock Lokan back against the wall with a well timed strike. However Lokan was happy, the force behind the blow was obviously considerably less. He picked himself off the ground and grinned. The battlegrounds were slightly more even now. Eric dashed towards his opponent as soon as he got his sword out. He didn't want to give his enemy any time to spare. He lifted up his sword above his head, and swiftly sliced downwards once he came close enough to the bulky black man. The swordsman wanted to end this as fast as possible and get back to his ship and head off to the next island since Lokan was already done with his scavenging of exotic and rare prehistoric beasts for the day. Unfortunately, it wasn't going to be a walk in the park, seeing as this time, Eric's opponent wasn't just a simple mook. He was way tougher than that. He blocked his attack by using his axe to cancel the blow, and sent Eric back a few steps. He was going to need to act smarter in this fight, and not rely on simple attacks. This opponent of his was too clever to beat with such petty attacks. The swordsman once again took a few steps back and performed the same maneuver. Only this time, he proceeded to kick the man afterwards while he was preoccupied with deflecting Eric's sword from getting passed his axe. The kick successfully landed on the man's knee, forcing him to stumble and weakened his defence from the warriors sword. Eric shallowly slashed his dark skinned target, missing his attack by only a few centimetres because he managed to push himself back. His opponent was on the floor, wielding no weapon and looking up at Eric's face. Surprisingly enough, he didn't have the face of someone trembling in fear at his demise. Instead, he kept a serious look the whole time and remained emotionless throughout the whole fight. He wasn't begging, or grovelling for forgiveness. He just sat there like he was welcoming death. Eric found that very amusing. This man had earned a little respect, and made him reconsider his choice of killing him. Although he did try to kill the swordsman from behind, he was willing to overlook it. "I like you, man. Not even a single shriek coming from you. Well, guess what? Today is your lucky day. I'm not going to kill you. But you better get your other friends to leave our fucking boat alone or else I'm going to slaughter the lot of ya'." The swordsman marched away from his opponent, but before he did, he took off his robe and started stretching his shoulders to reward himself for doing all the hard work he's been doing all day for Lokan. Once he finished up, he made his way back, but not before being stopped by a shout from his defeated foe. "Wait! Before you go, that tattoo...on your shoulder. That is a slave marking, right? I know someone like that in our crew that has the same tattoo as you! He's the leader of our Bounty hunter crew, but he's not here right now. He's on the island looking for some food." The words the man spouted left Eric in shock. He stood still, trying to process the information he had just been given. Amazing, is all Eric could use to describe what he was thinking. Finally, after months of searching, he has finally found a clue to his past. For so long, he has been waiting for a time when he could be able to find somebody to tell him what happened on that certain island he was trapped on. To find someone on an island such as this uninhabitable, carnivorous-beast filled island, would he get to meet someone to fill the gaps of his memory. Sadly, with this piece of information to his knowledge, Eric had to leave Lokan. Now, he has found something that will finally lead him to his goal. The single goal that has been on his mind for hundreds of days and nights, plaguing his dreams for what crime he has committed, even though he didn't know what he did exactly. The partnership between them was short, but alas, all things had to end someday. He felt a little bad because of feeling like he used his partner as a stepping stone on his journey, but this was much too important for him to ignore. Eric had decided to go back to their ship and tell Lokan the news. He had to break it to him as quick as he could and then go off back onto the island to find the leader who supposedly had the same tattoo as him. As he began to walk on back to his ship, Eric looked back at his informant. "Thanks for telling me. But you better fucking pray that your boss has the same type of tattoo as me. If he doesn't, I'm going to kill him first, and then I'm going to come and kill you. Got it?" Eric told the man with a smile on his face. Finished with what he had to do on this Bounty hunter ship, the swordsman carried on to his crew ship to Lokan, who most probably cleaned up the trash off their ship. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile, while Eric turned his back, the tough black opponent whom he had just fought with stood up and ran straight into the entrance of the hull of their ship. He rushed down the stairs and frantically searched for the den den mushi they had on their ship. He quickly picked it up and dialed a number. It took a few seconds before someone picked it up "Hel-?" "We need some help over here at Little Garden!" "Collected another bounty again?" "No! We need help here! Send at least one patrol ship over here! We got two dangerous pirates here that are just beating the shit out of us. Luckily, they only went up against the lower members of our crew, but this one guy is already looking out for our boss." "Well, what's his name?" The man immediately scanned the stack of bounty posters to find the two faces that he saw. He got a glimpse of Lokan earlier while he boarded his ship, and before Eric climbed up onto their vessel. "One is called Eric Devereux, with an 8,000,000 bounty. The other is Lokan T. King with a 13,300,000 bounty." "Well, aren't they small fry with bounties like that? Especially in the Grand Line." The marine laughed. "No, I'm telling you. These guys are poorly mismatched with their bounties. They are far more dangerous than they seem. Just send us one marine patrol ship. We only need some back up. We'll cut the bounty prices by half and give it to you if you help us." There was a slight pause on the line before the marine started to speak again. "Well, I have been running a bit low on money for awhile now. You haven't caught some bounties in quite some time either. Alright, I'll send you a little backup, but you better be damn sure its worth it." "Thanks! Don't worry, we'll be able to handle them." The bulky dark skinned man dropped the phone and sighed in relief. He chuckled afterwards with an evil sound. "You'll rue the day you spared me, Eric." |

Lokan waited for his opponent to make the first strike. He would counter and then probably just go in straight for the kill. He wanted to get rid of all the Bounty Hunters on his ship and just leave the island, he was getting tired of constant fighting with humans. Also he wanted to move on to the next island, he heard it was a winter island. He did like winter islands. Also there were apparently a species of bear that walked like humans, now that was interesting. Much more interesting than dinosaurs. The scientist laughed a little, he probably needed to stay more focussed on one particular field. If he did, who knows? He might even have won a Nobe L. Prize by now. However it was time to fight Fudou, and to just get it over with. Like an uncanny coincidence, on that very moment, the other swordsman ran straight towards Lokan. The scientist grinned and decided he would do something easy. He raised his arm and slashed down, doing an ‘Airborne Slash’ directed straight towards the Bounty Hunter. The swordsman was surprised and managed to dodge the hit, just as it scraped past him, slamming into the interior of the ship. Lokan sighed, he had paid a decent amount of beli for this ship and now he was wrecking it. A shame but he had to deal with the threat on hand. The scientist rushed forward at Fudou, he was still getting back on his feet from the previous attack. As Lokan swung his blade down the man managed to raise his own, causing the two weapons to clash. Lokan gritted his teeth. He was sure that that was going to be the finishing blow. “Well King, I seem to have underestimated your power, I was sure that you were just some other weakling from the Blues who thought they were way over their head. Now I realise you’re only slightly over your head. Either way. I’m going to cut your head from your body and hand it in. 13,300,000 is still enough to get me quite a bit booze at the next island you know?”Lokan stepped backwards and the man grinned, As he stood up Lokan went in for another slash, The man instantly ducked and raised his sword, like he was preparing for the same strike. Lokan grinned, what an idiot. Like he was going to do the same stupid thing twice. He winded his arm back and switched on the hydraulics until they were at their max. Fudou had a smug grin on his face, and it pissed Lokan off. The scientist sighed and swung down. “Piercing Slash” The blade swung down with enough force to cut through people’s armour, but in this situation it just knocked the katana from the man’s grasp. As the blade continued to sail downwards to smashed into the man’s skull. With that Lokan sheathed his blade and sighed, Fudou was dead, but he needed to get rid of everyone on this ship. He looked around the whole ship but couldn’t find anyone else. He scratched his head and walked back up to the main deck. It was then he noticed the person at the helm of the ship, next to the wheel. Lokan rushed up to him, but stopped once he saw that the man was on a baby den den mushi. He would listen then decide what to do. “Yes I understand. Wait what? You lost Devereux. Are you an idiot or something? So he ran off after the boss? I understand. Yes I agree Plan F is probably the best way to hunt these pirates down without causing too much fuss. So did the marines say how long they’d take? Well either way we’re going to be fine if one of them went after the boss. He’s about as strong as they get. Yeah King should be occupied. He’s up against Fudou, that samurai idiot isn’t going to lose. He’s take down 15mil bounties before. Yeah I guess we’ll activate Plan F. The anchors already been hoisted up anyway. Yeah bye.” Lokan sighed. For some reason Eric had decided to get off the ship and run off back into the forest. That was suicide for someone like him, but intellect had never been his strong point. He was smart to an extent but what drove him was emotion, and that was what would likely cause his death. Lokan sighed, marines were coming. He didn’t have time to wait for Eric to come back from his little tangent off in the island of Little Garden. He was going to have to make a tough choice here, it was time to leave Eric behind and go solo once more. However he had the problem of a person at the helm of his ship. He needed to find out what Plan F was. It could involve explosives or something, and he wasn’t taking that risk. He carefully walked up behind the man, who was whistling some odd tune. As soon as he was close enough he punched the man in the head and grabbed him by the hair. In his other hand his katana had already been drawn, and was pointed at the man’s throat. “So, you think I have no chance against Fudou huh? Well he was strong, but currently his head was been smashed into by a blade. No doubt he’s taken down people with a bounty of 15,000,000 before, but people have bounties for different things. I’ve taken down a man with 15,000,000 as well, he had a bounty for being smart. He was in no way strong. So tell me new best friend, what is Plan F. I’m not one to stay around for long. Tell me now or you’re going to be spending some quality time with that ‘samurai idiot’.” The man gulped. His weapon was on his side and it was obvious he wasn’t going to be able to get it anytime soon. Lokan put some more pressure of the blade and the Bounty Hunter yelped. He was obviously somewhat scared. It was then he started to talk. “Okay, okay I’ll talk. Plan F is something we made in case we found the pirate’s ship empty. Simply one of us hijacks it and sails it off somewhere they can’t get away. Then everybody else just goes in and hunts the pirates down. That’s what everybody is doing right now. Once we catch you guys we sell the ship.” Lokan breathed a sigh of relief, at least this ship was useable. Still holding the man by his hair, Lokan walked up to the edge of the ship. There he looked down at the water, it was deep enough. He wasn’t going to kill the man, he had been co-operative. He grinned and chopped off one of the man’s legs. Then he proceeded to toss him overboard. He was still alive, just in an absolute new world of pain. With that Lokan turned back to the ship. It was time to set off. He prepared the ship and it sailed like a dream. Once he had reached a distance of fifty meters away he turned the ship around so that the helm was pointed towards the island, and the Bounty Hunter’s ship in particular. He walked up to the tip of the ship and looked at the cannon. He did like the cannon. He loaded it and aimed it so that it would probably hit, standing targets were not hard. He fired. The first cannonball fell short by a few meters and the scientist re-adjusted accordingly. The second shot worked like a charm, crashing straight into the side of the ship. Lokan had had bad luck with cannons before, he preferred not to talk about it. However when he could smash something he was always happy. A third shot hit and the ship was basically unusable now. “I’m sorry for killing off your only escape Eric, but I need to ensure my future. Survival of the fittest is natural instinct. Have fun on the island, to be fair you sealed your own fate walking back onto the island. I don’t know what you see there but have fun. This whole journey has been fun. However all things have an ending. Have fun buddy.” With that Lokan sailed off. The marine ship on the horizon, but it would never be able to catch up. It was time for a new adventure. How many crews was this now. Well there was Black Cross, that was a failure to the core. Then there was Golden Fists, another crew that had been long gong and he’d definitely moved on. Maelstroms next, that was somewhat closer to the now. Today was the closing chapter for Rising Dawn eh? It was brief but Lokan enjoyed it. Fighting against slavery was something he had actually been passionate about. Nevermind, maybe the future would hold greater things. |
