Lokan gazed at the island that the boat had just docked on. His mind was in an absolute daze. After a very brief stint in back in the South Blue, an experience he would like to never repeat. However now he was back in a world that would forever keep him on his toes. After Cactus Island Lokan had been craving the chance to challenge himself in a world filled with amazing danger and challenges.

He lit up a cigarette as he examined the new island in front of him. It was a place of legends that made the scientist inside of him ignite with excitement. It was a place of legends, even the Pirate King Monkey D. Luffy once set his foot on the island on his path to becoming the supreme ruler of the seas. More importantly there were dinosaurs on this island. There were DINOSAURS on this island. Ever since Lokan had been introduced to the prospect of ‘living history’ as a child reaching this island had been the first thing on his bucket list. Since he had met Ryoto his ambition to discover links between the Animalia of the present of the past had only risen. Now was his chance to discover where certain life forms originated from, and that was an amazing opportunity all scientists begged for. However only a few had the skill to reach this island and face the monsters on it.

Lokan exhaled and watch the smoke drift towards the island. He was wearing shorter pants and no jacket today. The Prehistoric Era was a time with higher temperatures than nowadays and the humidity back then was most likely unbearable, and the island reflected these conditions. The dense jungle blocked off the view of most of the island but the tips of two bone like structures protruded from the tropical trees. A sudden shift in the trees caused a flock of Pterosaurs to fly above the tree line before diving back. Lokan grinned slightly, that was something that you only saw in cheesy Den Den Mushi Films.

He looked at his hands, they were smudged with ink and blood from the various write-ups and experiments he had done in his spare time. He had spent more and more time locked up in his laboratory working on his various experiments and projects. Eric must have thought he was crazy, which wasn’t far off the mark. He preferred the term partially mentally unstable. His mind had become consumed with the constant thirst for knowledge, and his body would do anything to gain it. After watching the ruins that his hometown had reduced to the one little thing keeping him completely sane snapped and he had found himself in the chaotic mind he was currently in. He was sane most of the time but sometimes when he was deep into an experiment something else just drove him, unlike his normal self which was cool and calm a small amount of madness was at his fingers.

However he was in full control right now, and somehow the tobacco help him. He planned to stay in control for as long as he could, definitely when he was around other people. Either way he would wake up Eric now, and then they would go searching for dinosaurs.

The sound of deep snoring could be heard throughout the whole ship. It sounded like that of an untamed beast, taking a slumber without a care in the world, when in reality, the origin of that pestering noise came from Eric himself. Sleeping in his small, cheap bed having a wonderful nap from the sound he was making with his nostrils.

The swordsman had been sleeping for quite some time now, considering he had nothing better to do than doze off, clean off the dirt on his large sword or just stare at the ocean. Life was boring on a ship, and he of all people knew the experience. The only cure Eric found to help him cope with the emptiness was to lie in a bed and close his eyes until Lokan woke him up for something that needed his attention.

As Eric was taking calmly dreaming away, a loud bang suddenly interrupted the swordsman's rest and made him jump out of his bed. He looked to the door of his room to see Lokan standing there, with the look on his face expecting him to get off his ass and go outside.

"So we're almost there huh? Lets go and see what this island looks like."

The swordsman jumped out of his bed and stretched his body before heading out of the room, past Lokan, and headed towards the bow of their ship. Eric surveyed the island from afar, barely making out anything of the giant trees that occupied most of the island and the gigantic volcanoes that shadowed them. Other than that, it was impossible to know what lurked inside the mysterious jungle until the two of them explored it for themselves.

Eric had some knowledge of Little Garden in his geographic and navigation studies when he was young. Reading through the books his family provided for him to learn more about the world. It was an island that was abundant in the population of primordial creatures as it was said in the books. A perfect island befitting for the beasts that lurk on the island. It was going to be a fascinating day if all went well. The swordsman always did imagine in his youth to ride on a dinosaurs back. It would be an opportunity in a lifetime for him to fulfill a childhood dream.

When the pair reached the shores of the island, Eric dropped the anchor off the ship with ease and leaped off the ship without any patience. His eagerness to explore the island was astounding to the point where it was barely uncontrollable, but he managed to regain his composure after a few deep breaths and waited for Lokan to follow him off the ship.

"Come on buddy, we're wasting daylight here! Better get your ass off that ship or I'm leaving you behind!"

“And yet I was the one who has been up since 3 a.m. steering the ship.”

Unlike Eric, who was filled with excitement and his actions showed it, Lokan slowly made his way onto the island whilst adjusting the straps on his gauntlets. The humidity of the island instantly hit him and he groaned. He had been raised in a winter island where it never went over 5°C. As he walked through the dense undergrowth, hacking his way through with his blade, he could feel himself in a different time. It was like he had travelled back in time through the seas.

As he stopped to recover his breath slightly a dragonfly landed on the hilt of his katana. The only thing was this dragonfly was the size of Lokan’s head. The scientist stopped to examine it and pulled out a notebook and started to record information before the insect inevitably flew away. Whilst it was only a dragonfly, the insight into what else lay on the island stimulated Lokan’s brain. He was now using all his mental capabilities to piece together the connections between the dragonfly he saw and its modern day ancestors. The history of evolution was amazing when you thought about it.

As the two continued through the jungle Lokan noticed more pieces of history. This was usually large insects, odd plants or fungi, footprints and even the odd microraptor or ankylosaurus walking around or feeding. They had yet to encounter anything that would have totally astounded Lokan to the stage where he would be tempted to try his strength on the creature, but the pirate was anxiously awaiting the moment where he would be able to.

One particular plant caught Lokan’s eye. He knelt down to examine it, a small plant. He looked at it and sniffed it before he grinned and cut the plant to take with him. He continued to do the same with several other plants he encountered. This was a form of tobacco, primitive but it was still tobacco. Lokan wanted to understand where all the cigarettes he had ever smoked had come from, and trying prehistoric cigars didn’t sound like a bad idea either. As he stood up the trees around him rattled and he instantly reached for his weapon.

As the sound of ruffling leaves and snapping branches grew louder and the creature that emerged from the bushes made Lokan grin. It was a creature that he had been fascinated with as a child and had always wanted to meet one, even though then it had seemed like an impossible dream. However there was now a group of eight velociraptors standing in front of him. They were usually something that were aggressive, and Lokan really did feel like catching some ‘specimens’ to study. He knew Eric would want to fight so Lokan wanted to make things quite clear.

“Eric, these are Velociraptor mongoliensis. I would like to capture some of these creatures to study so please don’t tear them to shreds. However in particular can you not damage the head. A brain can reveal so much about a creature. These guys may be small but they can be dangerous if you let your guard down.”

Now how to deal with this situation? He needed both speed and strength. Usually he would be forced to resort to his speed-improving drug, but not now. He had spent so much time working on this technique, and it was something he would always cherish. He allowed his body to transform due to the power of his Devil Fruit. However this time he manipulated the way he transformed and when his form had stabilised he grinned. He had finally mastered his ‘Centaur Form’, something quite difficult to make. Now it was time to fight.

Techs Used
Centaur Form (16)
Type: Supportive

"It isn't my fault that you didn't ask for me to take over." Eric said, in his defence.

The swordsman examined the outskirts of the jungle, yet again, attempting to make out anything breathing that masqueraded itself to hide from the two of them. He looked left and right into the abyss and peered in as close as possible. He failed to notice anything out of the ordinary and was about to give up and wait around for Lokan when he instantly recognized a few shadows tussling around with haste.

Eric eyes widened as he discovered these figures, and was bewildered. He softly rubbed his eyes to make sure his imagination was fooling around and oddly enough, when he finished, there was nothing there. The fighter laughed at his absurd fantasy playing with his mind. He came to the conclusion that his over excitement was starting to cloud his thoughts with endless possibilities that awaited him inside the eternally silent labyrinth of tress.

The swordsman held his curiosity back to gaze into the jungle once again, having the fear of his imagination running rampant once more. Instead, he sat on the soft and warm sands of the tropical beach before his colleague managed to get off the ship. When he finally did, Eric let him lead the way since he was the one that wanted to explore this island with twice as much enthusiasm; despite his calm façade.

As the pair ventured deep into the tranquil rainforest, Eric allowed Lokan to run freely like a little kid, picking up odd bits and pieces of plants on the floor. He cared little for what he was doing and was entirely focused on hunting for large, and in his head, majestic dinosaurs. Every footprint that Lokan spotted of a prehistoric creature made the swordsman more impatient as time went by.

The fighter himself could not help but daydream while traversing behind Lokan until the two of them noticed an odd sound approaching them. Dozens of small footsteps snapped Eric out of his reverie and put the both of them to a standstill until whoever, or whatever was approaching them appeared.

Shortly after, the origin of the disturbance presented themselves in front of the dyad: Velociraptors. They were the first ancient animals that the two of them encountered. Unfortunately, not big enough for Eric to use as a mount. The swordsman was a tad disappointed but he looked on the bright side; at least he was going to have a few new pets.

Eric dropped the blade off his back to get rid of any hindrance, cracked his knuckles, and prepared for the incoming love he was about to receive.

Lokan stared down the velociraptors with his cold gaze. The game he was playing was one of patience and the first one to strike was the one who wanted to expose themselves and make themselves vulnerable to a counter-attack by an almost alien enemy. The scent of violence lurked the air and a feeling of inevitable bloodshed vibrated through Lokan’s body. He grinned and gripped his blade with his right hand, but keeping his left hand ready to block with his bladed-gauntlet.

Then the first velociraptor made its move. A simple head-first rush, Lokan had figured that an animal like the velociraptor would attack somewhat like that, claws and teeth being their offensive weapons after all. Lokan easily dodged with his heightened speed from his new form and when the animal shot past, Lokan used the backside of his katana to knock it in the stomach. The animal flew back a few meters but easily got back up on its feet. The strike Lokan had made wasn’t strong and he hadn’t expected it to be successful in knocking out the dinosaur. He would have been disappointed if it had.

As the creature came back for round two Lokan prepared the same attack, but with a slight twist. His shoulder had been modified to improve the strength of his swings, when he opted to use it. It was one of his greatest achievements, his ‘Hydraulic Right’. As the creature came through the second time, the horseman easily side-stepped once again. On the second time through the full force of Lokan’s hydraulic slash hit the creature and it flew backwards ten meters before crashing the ground, unconscious.

Two other velociraptors charged at Lokan at the same time and caught him off guard slightly, causing a small bite on his left leg, it wasn’t major but it stung. The scientist reverted back to his human form and snarled. He managed to swiftly grab on of the creatures by the neck, but the other was still out of reach. With the animal he had he held the neck firmly and then used it, almost like, a flail against a nearby tree. The small creature was dead and Lokan dropped the body on the ground, he could pick that up later.

The final velociraptor that had been relatively idle this whole battle suddenly burst into action and lunged at Lokan’s chest. The scientist usually would have stabbed a creature that attempted to attack him like that, however he really wanted more specimens. He braced himself and used his left fist to punch the creature in the face, a dead on shot. The force of the power caused the animal to fall to the ground. If life was a videogame the words K.O. would have flashed up on the screen.

Now there was only the velociraptor that had bit him earlier. Lokan ran straight at it with his katana firm in his hand. He simply went in and cut off the dinosaur’s. He would have seven specimens, what was the point of eight then?

With both his hands held up into a fighting stance, Eric prepared for the velociraptors preparing to charge towards him with unrelenting assault. The four of them all bared their fangs at the swordsman, as if they were trying to intimidate him before rushing at him with immense alacrity. With all of them combined, their teeth could be compared to a hundred small tipped daggers, with inhumane sharpness. Eric knew that one bite from them is going to hurt; a lot.

The swordsman wanted to take care of these prehistoric predators swiftly, and without trouble. Although he had to make sure to gauge his strength correctly so as to at least keep them breathing. He didn't feel like receiving an earful of never-ending complaints about how he couldn't do a simple task of capturing four measly dinosaurs that were thrice as small compared to Eric. Lokan was the most intransigent human he had ever met when it came to something relating to science, and experiments. He spared no mercy to mistakes; no matter how small.

Seeing how he still wanted to be on Lokan's good side and avoid ship duties to get his daily nap, for once the fighter softened up his muscles to inflict light blows.

"Come here and get a taste of this juicy meat right here! You know you want some of this!"

Eric showed some of his leg flesh before he successfully provoked them into attacking him. It was a senseless strategy to aggravate creatures with such simple minds; He was starting to wonder if he was losing his sanity by doing so too. But he put the thought in the back of his head to ponder about later. Right now, he had to concentrate on these small-fry wanting to bite his head off.

The first of the four that reached Eric snarled ferociously at him. He was aiming straight for his legs, and as he was about to sink his teeth into the warriors limb, he kicked the little bugger as soft as possible in retaliation. Unfortunately, he still did not quite take out as much strength as he should have, kicking him a few meters away and collided with one of the trees with a horrible sound of something cracked. The swordsman felt a bit guilty for doing so, harming an animal when he had not even done anything to deserve it. It was cruel, but Eric will make it up to the ferocious predator later. Dealing with his friends was his main priority first.

He made fast work of the three, grabbing the second one by its neck when it tried to pounce on him, and then throwing him at the third one, knocking them both out. The last one was a slightly brighter than his brethren, sneaking up behind Eric when he least expected it, aiming for the back of his neck. He was close too but unluckily, the warrior punched him, knocking him down to the ground.

When Eric finished cleaning up, he turned around to see Lokan already done with his bunch.

"So now what do we do with these 'specimen' of yours?"

Lokan picked up one of the unconscious velociraptors and swiftly suffocated the animal, this minimized the damage on certain organs and brain. He went along and did this to the remaining velociraptors before he opened up a backpack he had brought with him, and followed by stuffing all the bodies in. Lokan had placed a lot of ‘specimens’ in this backpack and he honestly didn’t mind shoving dead animals, or plants, or dinosaurs, or human parts, into.

“I’ll just carry these guys with me until I get bored and decide to bring them all back to the ship. Plus I’m not going to be remotely happy until I find something much stronger and worthwhile to fight. I also want to check out the massive dinosaur skulls later. How in the world have they not decayed or collapsed in the last few hundred years?”

As the pair walked towards one of the bone coloured objects in the distance Lokan’s head was spinning. After the random display of violence to the velociraptor he had instantly lit up a cigarette to calm himself. He had a feeling of insanity swarm him, he fully knew what he was doing, but his mind had told him it would be best to destroy the creature, and that was exactly what he did. He sighed, if he continued on these random bursts of violence he would really get himself into trouble.

As he reached one of the skulls he looked up to the amazing sight. Rumour was that a two giants had sounded right, unless another unstoppable force had nce visited this island and decided he, or she, wanted to go hunting for extremely large, prehistoric creatures.

He ran his finger over the bone and smiled. He then pulled out his katana and used the hilt of the weapon to smash the skull, and broke off a fragment of the bone. Sure this skull was an iconic feature of the island, but Lokan didn’t care. He was more interested in the information he could find out about the past with this one shard of dinosaur bone. As he looked at the piece of dead animal, he wondered about what sort of creature had once sported this skeleton. Ah science, it bored so many, but without it society would not exist.

The sound of smashing trees struck Lokan back into reality. Something big was coming. Lokan’s eyes flared with excitement. His hand instantly went to his katana. He already had velociraptor bodies, prehistoric tobacco and a tonne of other interesting things. A monstrous creature would only add icing to the already sweet cake.

Eric gathered the four velociraptors that he handled by the necks carefully, so as to keep Lokan from getting annoyed because he handed him over 'damaged' specimens. He casually walked to where Lokan was while examining the first unconscious predator he knocked out with too much strength. Thankfully, it was still breathing but he had quite a nasty bruise from the number the swordsman gave him. He made sure he was going to look after it from now on, as a way of satisfying the remorse he felt, even though it was a simple animal that only knew how to kill.

After handing over the specimens Lokan wanted, Eric went back to get his weapon, and continued on their expedition further into the wildly dangerous jungle. Lokan wanted to head to the location of where the humongous dinosaur head that they noticed earlier when they were sailing towards the island. The warrior himself was morbidly curious himself as to what kind of monster existed like that once upon a time.

As they kept cutting through the enveloped leaves clinging onto one another, they arrived at the resting grounds of this once terrifying monster. Eric walked around the whole thing, while gently running his hand on the bones of the creature, feeling the chalk dryness of the giant bone.

"To think....something like this existed! Amazing! I wish we could have been here when it did!"

Eric took his time to examine everything about the relic, but was cut short by an odd movement through the ground. He paused and stood still for a second before noticing that the earth was gently shaking. But as minutes passed, the trembling became all the more violent. The swordsman had a hard time keeping his balance from all of it. He marched himself back to where Lokan was and the both of them attempted to pinpoint the direction in which the fluctuation was resonating from.

The warrior spotted a few of the trees wobbling as vigorously as before, before seeing something a certain shade of red, obviously distinguishable from the greenish colour of the jungle. It grew larger the closer it came, making Eric more alert. He grabbed the sword off of his back and untied it quickly to prepare himself for the imminent threat approaching the duo.

Just as Eric planted his sword into the ground, the menace causing the disturbance appeared. Standing twelve feet tall, right in front of their eyes was the largest dinosaur that the swordsman had ever seen. He knew this creature all too well from the books he read. It was the most fearsome, and ferocious predators of them all. It gave him nightmares when he was a child with its malicious gaze, intimidating fangs, and sheer size, who could not be in the least bit awed?

To think that in his lifetime, Eric would actually get to witness first hand and fight against a Tyrannosaurus Rex. The warrior knew from turning to his side and seeing Lokan's large grin, he wanted that specimen. His companion wasn't going to take no for an answer, and he will be damned if he didn't take a sample of the monster towering above them.

"Okay, okay, you don't have to tell me what you want to do. I can't believe you want to risk both our lives for this damn dinosaur. But, since I agreed to come onto this island with you, I guess I signed myself up for this. Now the only question is, should I go in first, or you?"

A Tyrannosaurus Rex huh? To think that the two of them had already run into the alpha predator of the island. This battle was not going to be easy, and it wasn’t going to be a swift victory either. The monster they were fighting was one of epic proportions. This carnivore was large and its scales weren’t easy to scratch. The animal was probably one to throw around its weight to cause damage, it wasn’t too smart. This was a good sign, when animals couldn’t think you only had to worry about how they moved. Now it was time to prove the dominant species of the present was stronger than the dominant species of the past.

Lokan reached his pockets and pulled out two syringes. He threw one to Eric and administered his own, straight into his right thigh. He grinned and stretched his arms, before finally answering Eric’s question.

“I’ll strike first, you can come in once I do some damage. Also the syringe, you know the drill. It’s the speed one by the way, not the stamina one. We’ll probably need it for this behemoth. Try not to decapitate it, I like whole specimens. Actually try and keep it alive, or you could try and tame it through fear. Really it’s up to you.”

The scientist walked slowly up to the creature. In a battle where you had a tough foe, planning was pretty essential. When one wrong move would spell inevitable pain, the faster this was over the better. However this did hive Lokan the chance to try something out. He had spent the last month or so slowly developing his combat abilities. He had identified that the major problem with his combat was that he didn’t have a way of engaging an enemy from a distance. He had managed to counter this problem by closing the distance rapidly up till now, but this did cause him to be vulnerable to enemies who had firearms. He had thought about adding a gun into either his blade or gauntlets, but that was both difficult to build and expensive. The sheer complexity of adding a firearm attachment to any of his weapons would take a long time to design and make, and to be brutally honest wasn’t worth his time.

So it had come down to two options. Buy a firearm, something that had never truly appealed to Lokan, his accuracy wasn’t to the par of people like Cielo and he had tried to fire a cannon once, when he had been part of the Maelstrom Pirates. He had missed the target ship by about ten meters. No a small projectile definitely would not have suited his style at all. The other option was to create a long ranged style slash. The theory was if one sliced fast enough, and with enough force, you would be able to project the slash through the air. He had spent the last month working on that, and now it was time to test the final product. Lokan let the cigarette finish before it dropped the ground. The pirate raised his right arm, which gripped his katana. He focussed his strength and made sure the hydraulics had activated.

“Airboune Slash!”

As he swung the blade a ripple of air soared through the sky and slammed into the dinosaur, cutting a gash on its stomach. Lokan laughed. He had finally managed to solve the problem of long-ranged combat. However now that he had pissed off the T-Rex it was probably wise to go back in close and revert back to how he had learnt to fight. Allowing the drug he had taken to kick in to full effect, Lokan rushed forward and instantly punched the monster with his bladed gauntlet, causing another wound, though it was smaller than the one from before.

Lokan winded up his arm and slashed again with all of his strength at the wound he had just created. The animal roared and Lokan leapt back just in time to avoid being squashed by the animal’s foot. He dashed back and sighed.

“This guy isn’t going to go down easy. You’re up Eric. Try not to get killed by this guy.”

Eric caught the syringe Lokan tossed to him and shoved it into his pocket for later use. He let his companion take a first shot against the T-rex and give it a warm up before his fight with him. It was going to be tough to take down something with a size like that, but it wasn't impossible. After all, they say the bigger they are, the harder they fall. But inn the meantime, all he had to do now was just sit down, and quietly wait until Lokan was finished with dealing his damage.

Somewhere along the fight, Eric stopped paying attention to the fight and out of blue, he dozed off and only woke up when his friend was finished doing what he could do. He noticed a few injuries on the alpha predator, but nothing quite serious. This was going to be slightly difficult if he had to only injure the monster. It was easier to kill it now and be done with it, and besides the point, how would he be able to bring this gigantic dinosaur considering the size of their ship.

Oh well, Eric thought. He might as well do it and let Lokan realize his mistake later. And so he stood up, removed his sword from the ground and rested it on his shoulder. He started on his advance towards the T-rex, while scrambling through his pocket for the syringe he was given. He got it out and took off the cap covering the needle, preparing to inject himself in the shoulder.

As he was about to apply the drug on himself, the ground once more, was quivering overwhelmingly twice as stronger than before. This time, it was accompanied with a sound of a loud roar, echoing throughout the entire jungle. Eric himself could barely keep his balance and had to rely on his sword to keep himself firmly planted on the ground.

The warrior looked around for the cause of the disturbance and almost immediately, found it. It was right behind them, and it wasn't good. This was twice as dangerous than the hungry beast trying to kill them. They had to run away fast, or perish. Eric turned back to Lokan and saw the same reaction as himself.

"Volcano! Run for it!"

In an instant, Eric ran without looking back twice, ignoring the T-rex and valuing his life more. They had only just been on this island for an hour and they were already running into a lot of trouble. He could face men with weapons, carnivorous animals, but the one thing he could not face was a natural disaster. He was not built to withstand things that were related to Mother nature. And he didn't like the sound of being melted to death by lava any time soon. All that mattered as of this moment was his life.

He knew Lokan could handle himself and did not bother to look back if he was running right behind him. The swordsman was terrified of looking back, and just ran as far as he could until he was safe.

Lokan sighed as he prepared to strike the T-Rex again. This thing was so going to be an absolute pain to defeat. He took a few deep breaths, and just as he was about to rush in with all his strength the volcano just had to come in and ruin his day. Immediately Eric just bolted away from the direction of the expanding ash cloud. Instead of waiting around it seemed that Devereux was one to abandon all friends in the case of a natural disaster that could spell a very painful death. Understandable but Lokan would have at least had the decency to wait for his friend to remove himself from the situation he was in.

Now speaking of situations how was he going to deal with this Tyrannosaurus Rex? He really wanted to kill the creature and collect a few samples. The heart of a Tyrannosaurus Rex really would have made his day. However that didn’t seem like something that was going to be easy to execute, considering the speed the lava was flowing down the side of the volcano. If Lokan was going to run it would be a hindrance to have a royally pissed off dinosaur charging behind him. That would definitely be bad for his heart. Luckily the T-Rex seemed to ignore Lokan completely and start running away.

In this case it seemed it would be best for the scientist to run back through the forest, back to his ship. He turned into his Centaur Form and started dashing. The speed he had in this form, coupled with the drug he had taken, make him feel like he was dashing at speeds he’d never experienced before. It almost felt like he was flying, something that he had always wanted to try. Something on his to-do list was make mechanical wings and experience flight. In that respect he had always wished the zoan he had eaten was a bird zoan, and not the horse one.

Lokan was making good progress as he passed Eric. The robed man was running with all his might but Lokan didn’t bother to pick him up because of the combined fact that they were close to the edge of the island now and that the T-Rex had decided to return. The dinosaur had reappeared and it was running in the direction of the two pirates. If this continued and the monster reached the ship it could do some serious damage to the vessel. And if that happened the two would be in a really tight spot, considering Eric wasn’t a carpenter and Lokan would probably get bored and go dinosaur hunting again.

However he would have to deal with the problem on hand. He could try and launch another Airborne Slash but that didn’t have the strength to knock the creature. He did have another attack he could use, Knockback Slash, but that would require him to go in close and land a hit right on the mark. It wouldn’t knock over the creature, it was too big, but it would probably cause it to at least change course due to fear. It was the best plan he had.

Lokan slowed down slightly until he was next to the dinosaur. He kept with the creature but the fear of being trampled at any moment wasn’t helping his nerves. He drew his katana and took several deep breathes. He raised his arm and made sure he would hit the creature spot on. He let the hydraulics do their magic and he sliced.

“Knockback Slash”

Sure enough the dinosaur didn’t topple over but it rushed away to the left, roaring all the way. Lokan sighed, at least that problem was out of the way. Now they were getting close to the edge of the island.

Like the wind, Eric ran and ran in one direction until he could not get himself any further. He wasn't planning on stopping any time soon until he felt the warm sun on his face, and smelled the sweet aroma of the sea. But until then, nothing was going to stop him from running; not even a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

As the swordsman was dashing and making his way through the jungle, jumping, and turning at every stuck out root and densely leaf covered paths, with the only sound heard ringing through the jungle were his footsteps. While making his custom made path within the tropical maze, he recognized a distinct trotting sound that only one person knew could make.

Eric could tell that Lokan was at least a quarter of a fair distance from his position, which he assumed his companion would not be able to cover that fast and catch up to him until he stopped; Or so he thought. As he kept on making his way through, the trotting got closer, and louder. Impossible was what Eric thought. How could he have caught up within such a short span of time? He was eager to find out.

In no time at all, Lokan caught up to Eric and he instantly knew the reason behind his swiftness

"Half man, half horse form huh? That's cheating if you ask me along with those drugs of yours. Also, give me a lift, will ya'?"

Of course, since Lokan caught up to him, he wanted to have a lift like the times on Cactus Island. It was such a nice experience for him to ride like the wind, while having someone else to do his walking for him. The experience was memorable, which is why he wanted to go again, once more.

Eric attempted to grab onto his partner when by surprise, Lokan decided to stop and left him to run along on his own. The warrior finally took a chance to look back for a second before, noticing the T-Rex from earlier was chasing them all along. His companion decided to stay behind and handle him, which he had no complaints to at all. I'm sure he can handle it alone.

So the swordsman still made his own way to the beach, and when he did arrive at the sandy shores, he saw their ship in front of them. The only problem was that there was another ship parked right beside theirs.

Lokan reached the beach shortly behind Eric and reverted back to his normal form. His drug had weared off and he was back to normal. The volcano had stopped erupting and it didn’t seem like the lava was going to reach this area. He would have been happy but he wasn’t. He was actually rather agitated because there was a ship next to their own. It seemed as if a group of people had boarded the Rising Sun, and Lokan was not happy about that.

He unsheathed his katana and prepared to board their ship and yell at whoever had boarded when a symbol on the other ship’s mast caught his eye. It was an emblem depicting a Jolly Rodger with several weapons protruding out of it. Lokan gritted his teeth. He knew the people he was dealing with, he had read about them in the paper only a few days ago. They were a new up-and-coming bounty hunter group who had recently come to the Grand Line. They called themselves Billion Skull Hunters, something Lokan found both stupid and laughable. The reason they were in the news was because they were a new initiative by the marines. The Marine Corp had decided that one way of keeping track of pirates was to hire bounty hunters to do work. Lokan didn’t understand why, Bounty Hunters were just really marines without any moral restrictions.

However the problem was that the Bounty Hunters did possess some strength when it came to combat, and that was what made Lokan itching to fight them. He found the ladder up and started to climb, not caring what Eric was going to do. Once he reached the top he climbed over the small protective wall thing and landed on both feet, with a Bounty Hunter standing in front of him with his back turned. Lokan wasn’t the sort of person who attacked people who had their backs turned, well he might of on a bad day, or if he was bored, or if just felt like being an absolute dick. Never mind that, the scientist actually felt like fighting today so he started to speak, well yell.

“You. Get the hell off my ship before I send you overboard. I was just having a peaceful day hunting animals that should probably be under some sort of protection because there’s like five left on Earth.”

The Bounty Hunter spun around and seemed extremely alarmed by Lokan’s outburst. He then proceeded to pull out a cutlass, standard marine issue. So the marines were even giving these Bounty Hunters weapons now. That was just great. Lokan expected the man to start fighting but he just pulled out a stack of papers and started to read through them.

“Let’s see, you seem to be a pirate who only recently entered the line. Umm you’re not Henry “Dancing Lorikeet” Jones or Christopher “White Rook” Meehan. Ahh here we go. Lokan T. King. No Epithet huh? Well whatever. 13,300,000 beli on your head. You’re wanted for acts of piracy, most people are, resisting arrest from authorities, how surprising, and being associated with Leander ‘Dark-Hunter’ Hastings.”

The man’s face suddenly paled as he started looking in the sky, almost as if he expected Leander to come out of nowhere and go on a rampage, but Lokan just started laughing. After a few moments he calmed himself and grinned.

“Man the look on your face. For your information I haven’t seen Leander in months, he’s off somewhere doing some revolutionary thing, not the sort of thing I’m into really. Now I’m still pretty pissed that you’re on my ship. So could you please remove yourself from it.”

The Bounty Hunter stashed away the wanted posters and started to charge and Lokan smiled, finally he was going to be able to see if the World Government should have bothered spending money on these Bounty Hunters. As the hunter reached Lokan the scientist had already made his move, launching a basic slash to the man’s right side. The Bounty Hunter blocked with ease but Lokan punched the man in the face with his left gauntlet, simultaneously cutting the man due to the blade on the back of the gauntlet.

The Bounty Hunter screamed and stumbled back slightly. Lokan grinned, if this was the hardest this group was going to get today was going to be swift and easy. He was moving for the killer blow when the man started to laugh.

“You think you’ve won this? I’m the weakest person on this ship, I was recruited yesterday. Everyone else is going to give you hell, their going to…”

Lokan didn’t let him finish. He decided he didn’t like him and wanted a more painful punishment. He cut the man several times and then threw him overboard, the saltwater would do the rest. With that done he would go back to hunting Bounty Hunters.

"Hmm....I wonder who those people are on our ship! Come on Lokan, lets get the trash off our dec-- Oh..."

Was the reaction Eric had when he turned to his left and noticed Lokan disappeared, making him talk to himself and feel like an idiot for doing so. He looked to the side of their ship and saw his accomplice already taking the initiative to take out whoever was trespassing on their property without him. Now he was the one being ditched. Made him feel slightly regretful now the he knew the taste of being the victim. Oh well, he thought. He had to put those kinds of thoughts out of his mind for now and handle the intruders and teach them a lesson for messing with a pirates ship.
,
Seeing as Lokan gave himself a head start on boarding their own ship, he figured that he should go on the offence and climb his way onto the enemy vessel. He was interested to find out who these strangers the two of them had to deal with exactly and handle them properly for intruding without permission.

The swordsman wandered over to the intruders ship and looked for anything to use to climb up with. Finding a rope dangling by the side, it was the only way possible to enter the vessel. Without a moment to waste, Eric scaled up towards the ships deck with ease, and got on-board with no one in sight.

He made his way to the entrance that lead into the hull of the ship to check inside and see if he could find at least one person to settle this matter out. As his hand was about to reach the doorknob, he was interrupted by a loud yell from behind, forcing him to sidestep to the left and dodged an attack from behind with a second to spare.

Eric looked behind him to see who attacked him to see a tall, bulky black man, with muscles the size of cannon balls. The man was wielding a giant axe, which he used to try and kill the warrior. He looked at the spot where the axe landed and noted the amount of sheer power involved in that swing. The man was strong enough to make several wooden floorboards snap in two, which Eric couldn't help but have a huge smile on his face.

"Hey, you're pretty strong aren't you, big guy? I guess I can't hold back on you!"

He unwrapped his comparable large sword with haste, and jumped back far enough to give him some space to charge.

"Now lets see, who is stronger between the both of us!"
