The weather is quite calm. The sun is shining brightly and there are just a few clouds in the sky. The Loguetown is living loudly as any other day. The streets are full of people wearing a mix of warm and loose clothes. Even though the temperature is quite cold, people act as if it was a part of summer. Most of the people were smiling like little kids, who don't know the negativity of the world. Of course there are some rotten folk, who just stay negative. One of them right now is leaning on the wall, maybe he is worried or just not in the mood. Either way he is negative. That little man is actually the Shadow Taki, a guy know only in some parts of Loguetown, mainly in bars.
Taki Sando is the name, of this little crook. As he says, he is mastering the art of theft and currently is just starting to understand the concepts. Right now he is currently looking for some pray for a new branch of his heart, he like to call it "bump robbing". Taki notices a pray in front oh him and slowly starts to walk the same way as him. The pray looks pretty normal and is carrying a small sack. While walking, Taki took out a similar bag stuffed with junk. Finally when they cross each others path, Taki bumps at him, making both of them fall. This part was the tricky one, Taki waited for the man to let go of the bag and quickly swapped them. After the guy sits up, Taki didn't even look at his face by bowing down and shouting "I'm really sorry, I should have watched where I was going, please forgive me". The man just stood silent while getting up, taking the fake bag and leaving. Taki then got himself merged in the crowd until he found a good spot for his next hunt. The bag was safely hidden in his cape.
Taki was once again leaning on a wall searching for his new prey. He was really happy the idea worked, but his face wasn't showing it. Time flew while he was doing this, because no actual candidates for the next bump robbing were found. Taki, however, didn't give up.

As Victor stepped off his little boat and onto the coast of Loguetown, he smiled. For one thing, he was happy, because he was finally re-stationed from Shell Town. After 5 years as a Marine there, it was starting to get really boring. Luckily, a Captain sent him a letter requesting assistance in Loguetown, as there is apparently a need of reinforcements in here. When Victor got the letter, he immediately packed all of his stuff in a small bag and left on a little boat. To the Bread Winner, this was a start of something new. Something exciting. Something... awesome.

Victor was walking to the Loguetown Marine Base. He was only wearing a white shirt and a blue tie, the marine uniform was in his bag. As well as all of his money, some other clothes and his Marine ID.

"Ah... Loguetown. The birth and death place of Gol D. Roger. I've never been here before. I guess I imagined it a bit differently." Breadwinner thought while walking. "Maybe here... I'll find out more about him. Maybe the Shell Town archives are outdated. Yes, that's it. I'll definitely find information about my dad here."

"Maybe later I should pay a visit to the Loguetown execution platform. You know... just to see if--" Victor's mind train was interrupted by something which had bumped into him, causing him to fall to the ground. "What the..." The young Marine looked up and saw a young man, also on the ground. The young man quickly apologized, picked up his bag, and disappeared in the crowd. Victor also silently picked up his bag, and walked away. "That was weird... He thought to himself and continued walking.

Soon, Victor reached the Marine Base. He was greeted the gates by a Marine soldier, who asked for an ID to enter. Just a minute, I've got it here... Breadwinner opened his bag, only to see a load of street junk. His heart skipped a beat. Fuck! He shouted, dropped the fake bag on the ground, and immediately dashed off to the place where he had bumped into someone. "God damn it, how could I have missed it? I got robbed on my first day here! This... this will not fly. I will find that motherfucker..." Victor thought while running.

A few minutes later, he was in the district where he was robbed. The young Marine looked around, hoping to recognize the face of the robber somewhere. "Damn it... Why didn't I get a better look at his face?" Then Victor saw him. The young man was leaning against the wall, wearing the bag he took from Victor. The Bread Winner decided to sneak up and try to reason with him first, for he was still not sure, whether the man was really the thief or not.

Very quietly, acting as a simple pedestrian, he moved closer and closer to the thief. Then, when they were only meters apart, Victor walked up to him and said, Excuse me sir, could I please see what's in your bag?

Taki was actually bored from prey targeting, the bags he had were quite popular, but at the moment, none were seen. His eyes were really heavy from all the looking. Nothing valuable was seen in a mile away, or at least that's what he thought. While time ran, Takis vision became blurry, he couldn't see most of the people. The wall at that moment felt like a soft bed. Soon his eyes were completely closed. Taki was daydreaming about relics nobody knew.

Suddenly Taki heard a voice addressing someone and asking them about a bag. He opened his eyes quickly, just to see that the first prey was standing in front of him. A little shock stroke Taki form head to toes. His mind was full of questions about the preys motivation, reason or just personality traits. Anything that could help him get out of this situation. The pause for thinking was quite long and should have looked really weird from a third persons view.

From Takis point of view, the surrounding people vanished. They were the last men standing in this town. All of Taki thoughts were directed to the guy in front of him. Plans were made and denied at the same time. His emotional state was also at risk. "What if the marines catch me... My life would be over. They are gonna put me on that wooden platform and execute me, just like they did Gold Roger." Taki thought, even though it was a lot exaggerated. "I have to act cool and deny everything. Maybe he will get lost then. This guy doesn't look smart enough to prove anything. That why he asked me to show, instead of just catching me. He has no evidence. I'm free!"

Finally Taki built up his courage and as realistically as he could, tried to look calm and a little confused at the same time. He wasn't an actor, but he didn't give out his emotions easily. The thief finally spoke: "Umm, no... Why should I show you my belongings? Don't even try to rob me, I'm not that stupid..." The start of the sentence was actually quite strong, but as it progressed, his shyness kicked in and made it weak. The situation was really weird and Taki was blaming himself inside his head for his incapability to stay strong.

As Taki waited for his reply, his body shifted to a defensive position. Although its defensive, its more like a retreat stance. Standing straight while Takis feet moved from one another. One of them was placed next to the wall for a possible boost. The right one was further away from the wall to use it as a support for the boost. His right hand was on the bag, as if he is holding it for safety issues and his left arm was just stretched down for no reason except for balancing matters.

Only when the young thief responded to Victor, he remembered that he wasn't wearing his Marine uniform. He has grown so accustomed to it over the years, that he wouldn't even notice whether he was actually wearing one or not. "And on top of that, my Marine ID is in the bag he stole. No wonder he denied me..."

Victor didn't want to use violence yet, but he shifted into an offensive stance, though it didn't quite look like it. His hands were in his pockets, only his feet were ready to strike whenever needed. For now, the young Marine decided to use only intimidation, seeing as the man before him was starting to shake with fear.

Listen here, chump... I know that the bag you have on your back is mine. I'm a Marine Ensign. I can fuck you up in a matter of seconds. Victor walked up very close to the thief, standing within half a meter from him, looking him straight in the eyes. Now this can go two ways: you give me the bag, leave this town and never come back. If I see you again, I will put you in jail. Victor smiled. Or... I could just beat you up and put you in jail right now. I'm giving you a choice because I'm in a good mood. The Bread Winner lifted his leg up. Your call.

Taki wasn't very happy his act and the change of position his prey did didn't help. Shock once again stroke Taki. The guy was way too relaxed with his hands in his pockets. Such exposure of a calm state makes his opponent more intimidated and it definitely worked on Taki. Now He was in a minor state of crisis.

After hearing the first part and seeing him close the distance, sweat made his appearance. Now crisis couldn't be called a minor. Takis eyes stared everywhere except in the guys eyes. Plans started to appear in his head, but most of them were useless. The fright messed up his thinking. He was ready to fess up. But then he hear the last part. Suddenly Taki, looked straight into the eyes of his opponent. Leaving town was not in his plans. Even if he just came here a while ago, he liked it here. That's why he got defensive.

As he saw the change of stance, Taki lowered his head as they do when people are ashamed and started to speak "Okay... my call is... Neither". Taki pushed himself of the wall straight at his opponent. The one legged stance of his opponent and the boost ready stance of Taki, gave him an opportunity. Taki used his loose hand to try and push his opponents shoulder out of the way. Taki tried to flee from his opponent by pushing him aside and running towards the alleys.

Motherfucker! Victor shouted as he realized his mistake. Lifting a foot up gave him a disadvantage at being pushed, so it took more time to regain balance. He immediately jumped to run after the thief, luckily the distance hasn't gotten that big in those few seconds.

Unfortunately for the young Marine, the thief was faster, giving Victor a disadvantage. All he could hope for was to keep up until the thief's stamina would run out. Or, maybe by chance, some random Marine would see them, as Loguetown is currently under strict Marine control.

They kept on running, and Victor started to notice that the thief was getting more tired and tired. Though it was pretty hard to see him already, as he had ran much farther in front, due to his greater speed. "Damn it... if he doesn't run out of breath soon, I'm gonna lose him. No matter what, I can't let that happen." Victor frowned and kept on running as if his life depended on it.

Takis success gave a chance of coming clean. Taki was really scared of jail, but he didn't want to leave this rich island. His income was much better then what he had in Shell town. Even if the island had strict watch over it, it was mainly for pirates and he wasn't really targeted. His quick action let him do what he does best, run.

By default, when Taki starts to run, nobody can catch him. But this guy was persistent. His quick reflexes were extraordinary, which made Taki just a bit closer to reach, but Taki had speed, with it and a head start. Taki almost lost that persistent guy. Taki was a sprinter, but not a marathoner. He got tired quickly. Despite his stamina, the distance was to big for him to catch up.

But as luck would of have it, Taki looked at the distance. That was his downfall. A box was lying in that dead end. Takis lack of sight made him trip and fall flat to the ground. "Shit" - he thought to himself. The plan was for Taki to just jump over the fence by using his speed and hide in the next house. The current situation destroyed that plan. Even if he did that now. The guy would catch up and Taki would just run out of stamina.

The alley was quite spacious, but there were no people around. It was quite a remote area. Having his escape route blocked, Taki was cornered. He wasn't ready to give up his freedom. Out of his cape pocket, Taki took out his weapon, a blade with a chain attached to it. The left hand was holding the chain by half a meter from the blade and the right one was holding the end of the chain. By rotating his palm, Taki started to spin the blade slowly. Without saying anything, Taki waited for the epitome of persistence.

"Ha! It appears luck is my lady today!" Victor thought when he saw the young thief trip over the box. He kept on running until they reached a dead end alley, the place for their soon-to-begin battle. When the thief stood up, Victor put his hands in his pockets and spoke, So this is it, huh? The end of the line. You can't run anymore. Now all that's left is... to... The Bread Winner stopped speaking when he saw the thief's weapon: a blade with a chain attached to it. Ooh... that's gonna make things... complicated. Victor frowned. You're no regular thief, are you? For one thing, you're smart... and you have a cool looking weapon. The young Marine took his hands out of his pockets, smiled and took an offensive stance. Let's see how well you can control it.

Without waiting for anything, Taki started to spin his blade faster and faster. He wasn't very talkative, which was the opposite of his opponent. Nor was he very aggressive, but the situation called for it. The speech of his enemy before noticing his weapon didn't matter to him.

"You're no regular thief, are you?" - these words made him smile a little. "Your new here right? The big marine control made you think safe right? Well I'm Shadow Taki, remember it" said the confident thief. This was actually a big speech for him. Even though thief normally like to be anonymous, Taki wasn't actually normal. A frightened thief who likes to boost. You don't see them so often.

Taki reacted quickly to the change of pose. Without any delay, Taki stopped his spinning palm and made a vertical slash towards the guy. "Shadow slash"- he shouted. While holding the chain with his right hand and letting go with his left, the range of this attack was quite good. With his arms extended and taking a step front, the attack reached around three meters. The attack wasn't exactly vertical. Towards the middle of the attack, Takis hand goes a little up. And at the end it comes closer to his own head.

Victor listened to the thief speak and a smug smile appeared on his face. Shadow Taki, huh? I'm Victor Breadwinner. Nice to meet you. As soon as he saw the weapon, Victor knew that this was not going to be an easy fight. However, it seemed that the thief has been here for a while, which may mean that he had drawn some attention from Marines. If so, catching a wanted criminal on his first day would definitely draw the attention from the Marine higher-ups. Maybe they would even give Victor a promotion. Or assign him to some sort of a special operations division... that would be just great.

While wandering off in his mind like that, Victor was caught unprepared by Taki's attack, merely dodging it in time. "Damn! This kid's got speed!" A thought flashed through the Bread Winner's mind as he grabbed the chain of the weapon before Taki could retract it. "Ha! That's a advantage when fighting a weapon with a chain - you can always grab it!" Victor thought and quickly pulled on the chain, trying to pull his opponent to melee range within him.

The name wasn't quite heard by Taki. He didn't bother to ask for it again, because there was no time for chitchats. Thankfully a name apeared in his mind. "Victory Bread and wine"- the name was quite funny, but it didn't get to Taki as funny. Mostly the life depending situation made him not realize it. The opponents dodge at the last second really set Taki down. It wasn't suppose to hit either way, but a close call really set his hopes up.

Taki didn't even expect, that someone could actually catch his weapon. There was always that possibility, but no one every made it true. His guard was definitely down. The difference in strength overwhelmed Taki, and sent him forward. Even if he was out of balance, Taki still had his brains. A plan came to Takis head. The problem was the actions needed to perform it. It was a equal risk for him. But failure was a price, he couldn't afford. Knowing Takis stamina, he must not get hit. Every hit will make a drastic change to his battle power.

Using his opponent strength, Taki launched himself at him. The thief used his left foot to connect with the chain by contact while pulling the chain with his right arm. All of these actions were done correctly in the air. The outcome was a jump kick at his opponent with the hardness of a chain added to the kick. It wasn't a very good move, nor was he very experienced in martial arts, but it compensated for his lack of strength. The kick was aimed for the opposite side of the opponents chain holding hand, mostly at one side of his ribs.

While pulling the chain, Victor prepared his leg for a melee range attack to the opponent, hopefully disarming him. However, his opponent was smarter than that, as he managed to turn the force used to pull the chain into his own attack force. Victor's smile turned into a frown, and he had to act quickly if he didn't want to get a hard kick with his own force. This young Marine was never really the intelligent type, but even if he was, its instincts and reflexes that lead the warrior in battle.

Seeing that he won't be able to dodge the incoming attack, Victor decided to counter the kick. He quickly lifted his left leg up, shouted Escalope!, and delivered a kick straight to the opponent's face, while the opponent's kick went straight into Victor's ribs. It was an exchange of attacks, if you may.

In the aftermath of the attack, Victor was thrown back a few meters, and had to take a kneel from the pain. "Oof..." The young Marine looked at his opponent, searching for signs of damage. "Did I hit him?"

Taki didn't expect to actually land a hit. It was more of a scare attack to get his weapon back. Unfortunately the enemy was more of a barbarian then a tactician. To Taki, it looked like black and white were fighting. Both of them, had nothing in common. Force versus tricks, law versus freedom, strength versus intelligence. All of these were the outcome of this little thief. Though, he wasn't too smart either.

Excellent reactions scared the shit out of Taki. A high speed attack with the help of the strength of his opponent was reacted to and even responded. This guy wasn't just big talk or an ordinary thug. The first guess would have been a pirate, but just talking about arrests denied it. The only left strong people would be bounty hunters and marines. A marine would most likely talk about jails and law, but this guy didn't have a uniform, and he really wasn't one of those marine units. Then it must be a lawful bounty hunter. All of this thinking didn't let Taki to even try reacting to the counter.

The position of Taki was certainly better. His head was way farther from the collision. But as would luck have had it, the opponent was taller and his reach was bigger. The power was now almost equal. Almost. The reach of the kick was a little further. Taki got a straight kick to the face. The momentum and the kick really made a number on him. His own attack weakened, although it still existed and the striking end was still iron.

Even though Taki got almost KO'ed, he didn't let go of the weapon. Taki got thrown back by the kick, actually flying a meter or two. By doing that, the chain got pulled again and if it wasn't stuck on anything, he would have retracted it, but if something was stopping it. Taki would fall closer then a meter and actually pull the holder, if that's possible. Taki didn't loose consciousness. Just as he landed, he tried to stand up at which he hardly succeeded. He was very unbalanced while holding onto his cheek, where a footprint was left. Thankfully, the jaw wasn't broken. Taki started to grasp the situation waiting for his opponents response.

Seeing that his opponent hardly stand up while unbalanced, Victor smiled. "This battle is mine." He thought, and looked at his side, where Taki's kick had landed. It resulted in a bruise on the ribs, and dirtied his white shirt. But that didn't matter to the young Marine. Even though he liked to dress well, none of that mattered in the heat of battle. And the Bread Winner enjoyed every minute of it. Ever since he joined the Marines, he just loved battle. That's why he became a martial artist. That's why he was here today.

Victor looked around. Taki had pulled his weapon back, so that meant that in order to get to him, Victor just had to run. Doing so would be a bit too dangerous, he thought that. "What if I..." The young Marine looked around again, this time looking at his surroundings a bit more. And when he saw an average sized trashcan just lying in the side of the alley, a plan sprung up in Victor's head. "Perfect." He smiled for a second, then moved on to executing his newly thought stairway to victory.

While Taki was still disorientated, Victor quickly ran, grabbed the trashcan and threw it at his opponent. It had some trash in it, so that added to the element of surprise. While the opponent had to either dodge or defend from the incoming trashcan, Victor quickly ran to the side of the alley, jumped to the wall, kicked off from it and did a somersault in the air, all of this being done to surprise the opponent. Finally, as a finisher to his attack, Victor extended his leg, shouted Fried Neck!, and kicked in the direction of his opponent's neck while still in mid-air. Of course, this reduced the attack force greatly, but the attack was great nonetheless.

After the attack was done, Victor fell to the ground one knee, but quickly stood up. The move he had just pulled off required a lot of strength, so he just stood there breathing heavily, and looking at what his attack had done to Taki. Sweat began to emerge from Victor's body, and he started to hope for this battle to end right now.

(You didn't let me counter or block it ;( ...)

Taki was way too fatigued to see his opponent. The trashcan just appeared in front of him. His mind was playing tricks on Taki. His view changed periodically from blurry to clear. Luckily enough, Taki was able to react to it in time. By jumping towards the left side, Taki did a barrel roll. Just to see a kick flying straight to his neck. Now the view was as clear as the sky. Taki didn't have enough time to dodge it, but he used his speed for another reason.

The chain in his hand was pointed to the kick and made slight contact. This was done in order to redirect the kick from him. From the force, Taki fell down on the ground and tried to jump up again, but it was almost impossible. His stamina was really at its limit. While looking around and trying to catch his bread he got an idea. Quickly pulling the chain to get a hold of his blade, Taki looked at his opponent. The loose hand grabbed the stolen prize from under his cape.

"Lets see how important this is to you."- he said as he cut the bag open and thrown it into the air. All of its content scattered. The marine uniform dropped out of the bag too. Takis eyes almost exploded. He couldn't believe it. How can a marine be so aggressive. He was now really worried about his head. Scarred of now being targeted by the local marine base, Taki started to run through the alleys. All of this fighting changed their position countless times, so it was quite easy. Using his last stamina to run away, Taki dashed towards the port area with all his might.

Finally getting to that area. Taki looked for a bout that can be handled by one person. Finding one, he quickly dashed towards it and jumped in it. Kicking the shore, the small boat started to move. It was really small so it wasn't heavy, but it had a small sail, which was already set by Taki. Being on water, Taki looked back at the shore, remembering his own life and income. He liked it here, but if he would have got a bounty, he would have been surely caught. While remembering his past, the recent actions came to mind and he quietly spoke. "Victory Bread n' Wine, a man that disturbed my happy life and made me an outlaw." Even if it was a little untrue or exaggerated, that's what he thought. Taki wondered where will the wind take him this time.
