"These are all so pretty! I can't really decide which one I like most, to be honest. I think I'll just look around at some more, kay?" Melody raised her head from the display case and looked at the jeweler. He was an older gentlemen of around fifty or so years of age. He had brown hair with graying strands scattered about. The thing that stood out most for Melody was the shining name tag, made of some sort of fancy material with the man's name on it. The girl did not even bother to read his name from the tag, she only cared that it was sparkly and expensive-looking.

"Is there anything else I can show to you, madam?" The man asked as he stepped from behind the case. "Yes," she replied. "I've heard that this is the place where the Night Diamond is housed and sold. Could I see it?" The man nodded his head and instructed the girl to follow him. After several seconds of walking, they arrived in a room with a few people inside. Everyone in the room seemed pretty high-class. Even the security guards were wearing expensive jewelry. "I don't feel like I'm dressed appropriately," Melody said as she looked down at her own clothing. "Well, yes, this diamond can only be afforded by society's richest." The man turned his head to look at the girl. "Surely your father could buy a diamond such as this a thousand times over. Being Mr. Monoclous of the Monoclous fortune." Melody turned her hand to look at the man. "Yes, yes. This type of thing can be paid for by an hour's worth of work."

"Well, let's view the diamond, shall we?" The jeweler motioned her over to a glass case. Inside case were a plethora of 'Night Diamonds'. Each diamond was purely black in color; almost resembling the sky during a starless night. "Wow!" Melody exclaimed with eyes full of want. "These are so gorgeous! How much do they cost?" She did not take her eyes away from the diamond for even a second while talking to the man. "Well, depending on the purity and size... I'd say they range anywhere from twenty million to one hundred million beli." For the first time in forty seconds, Melody blinked. "W-w-well. I'll tell papa to get on that immediately. He doesn't let me carry any cash," She said as she turned her attention away from the diamonds for the first time. "Smart man," the jeweler commented. "I will be back tomorrow maybe. Thanks for all of your help, sir!" Melody left the store in high, yet low spirits.

The sun was shining as brightly as ever, the sky was clear of any clouds, and everything else just seemed perfect. Everything except Melody's diamond situation. "That diamond was just too beautiful! I can't not have it. I must have it. I either have to steal the money for it or steal the diamonds themselves." Her face was a particularly angry shade of red. Walking usually calmed her down, but not even a calming walk on a beautiful day could settle the anger she felt from not being able to afford such a diamond.

The girl's stomach started rumbling like an earthquake. "I should try to eat something. I'm really hungry and need to settle my stomach." Melody decided to stop and go into a burger joint. She could really use a burger and some fries. She would probably order a bunch of other things too, her stomach was as close as it could get to E.

"Y'call that a good brandy?", the slightly obese man exclaimed on the top of his lungs. He had ordered the best brandy the pub had to offer, and what he had received for it had the colour and consistency as well as the taste of pisswater. He wouldn't pay money for being ripped off like this; any amateur could see that this was a scam. Okay, maybe turning the attention of just about any occupant of this bar onto him hadn't been the smartest move, but then again, righteous outrage was best expressed loudly. Anyways. He wouldn't stand for this bullcrap, these people were pulling one on him and Jeff Brown would be damned if they got away with it. He chose the most civil form of protest possible in this situation: He got up and got out without paying even a penny. Of course a bartender tried to stop him at the door, but he was pushed out of the way by the pirate's massive body coming at him at full speed. Well, full Jeffrey Brown Speed. He wasn't too impressive as far as running went, but his sheer body mass contributed to quite an impact. The result was sufficient as no further obstacles barred his way.

There he was, out on the streets of Logue Town. Whatever drunken mood had compelled Jeff to come to this specific spot in the first place had soon left him, and he stood in slight annoyance on a plaza on probably the most dangerous place to be in in the entire East Blue. If you were a pirate, that is. Logue Town held a marine station, and a rather big one at that, and as of late security measures had been increased significantly. He had to gain ground now, had to move away from the scene so as to be untraceable. He was notorious in looks and behaviour, a quality most unwanted in his line of work. People were already on the chase and trying to get to the feather-hatted, expensively clad young man, so Jeff decided to submerge himself into the throng of people that moved through the streets of the city. He had neither a real goal nor a designated area where he would rest, so he just moved along and tried to be as inconspicious as could be. No running, no looking about nervously (something that undercover marines would definitely notice and suspect him for); on the contrary, the dirty blonde took out a cigar and lighted it, inhaling the fumes relaxedly.

That was when he saw a young lady approaching a burger shop. Jeff was a little bit low on cash, so he figured he might practise his subterfuge on her. The man approached the girl and, without big hesitation, placed one big hand on her bottom. Whether or not she'd react, Jeff attempted to locate where the girl kept her money in the little time he had until she would definitely react and take some of it for himself.

As Melody walked into the burger joint, she felt something on her her rear-end. She turned around to see a man with a horrible looking face touching her derriere with an equally horrible looking hand. "MOLESTOR!!" The young girl yelled at the top of her lungs. Her yell surged through the diner and the surrounding area outside. The man was feeling her on her oddly, it felt more like a search and less of a grope. She was no stranger to security, marine and police pat-downs. Luckily, she was one hundred-twenty three for one in cases of theft.

Some big, burly men ran to Melody's aid once they heard her scream. No man can resist being a knight in shining armor for a girl in trouble. Three men immediately ran to apprehend the man touching on her. "Hey guy! Whaddya think your doing?!" a man shouted. The man looked over to another woman looking on at the scene. He flashed a sly smile at her and her eyes lit up. He must have been trying to impress her with a display of goodwill. With the three of them working together, it didn't seem like it took much to restrain the guy. "What a weakling," Melody thought as she looked on with innocent eyes.

"Could you men do me a favor? I am terribly hungry and need to eat, but I want to report him to the authorities. Could you take him to the local law enforcement station while I grab some lunch? if it's not too much to ask..." Two of the men agreed while the man that was showing off for his girlfriend was a bit hesitant. "Well you see," he started, "I'm on this date with my girl and-" "REGINALD BAXTER JAMESON! YOU BETTER HELP THAT WOMAN OR I'M BREAKING UP WITH YOU!" His 'girl' was furious and red in the face due to embarrassment. She started walking forward and motioning the men. "This way, I'll make sure he takes him there, miss. I'm terribly sorry this happened to you, please take your time to eat." Melody nodded sweetly at the woman.

The men, guided by the woman, started hauling off the struggling man. Melody smiled at him and flipped him the bird before turning around to go into the burger joint. "Ma'am!" An older-looking chef from behind the counter called out, motioning the girl to come in the restaurant. "I'm so sorry this happened to you on our island. This place attracts pirates and low-lives, so these things happen sometimes... But to show you that this island is full of nice people, I'll give you a free meal for the afternoon! How does that sound?" Melody looked around the restaurant and then at the chef. "Sure, I'll take your offer. If it's free, it's definitely for me." She smiled at the chef and then told him exactly what she wanted.

Melody waited patiently at the table for her meal. But the food was barely on her mind. The groper, who she was pretty sure was a robber, was barely on her mind too. She was more concerned with how she would rob that jewelry emporium of its' Night Diamond and other valuables.

The little lady he'd felt up shrieked at the top of her lungs, and Jeff knew he was in deep shit. Well, who'd have thought missy here was so very oversensitive? And there was nothing to draw out of her backpockets either, what a blow. "Whoa, whoa, I'm sorry, no need to overreact. My hand slipped!", Jeff exclaimed, raising both hands defensively and inching away from the burly men that were coming at him. No chance. He couldn't outrun these lads, there was no distraction he could use. He would have to think of another method to get out of this mess. The heroic Reginald Baxter Jameson and his so far nameless colleagues were seizing the blonde by each of his arms and began to drag him out onto the street. Jeff gave the girl a final glare and made a rude gesture, but there was nothing he could do against those guys.

Here he was, out in the streets and getting hauled along like some petty criminal. He wasn't going to jail, oh no, that much was for sure. If anything he was quick at thinking on his feet; he scanned his captors for any clue on how to deal with the situation. Suddenly, one popped up. Jeff waited patiently until a marine patrol came into size to suddenly start yelling. "HELP! PLEASE HELP ME, I'M BEING ABDUCTED BY A BUNCH OF PIRATES!" With this shout, panic broke out. Civilians, who had already kept a respectful distance between themselves and the pack of four men - were backing away even further in the usual manner of onlookers who realized they could witness a scene. The marines scanned the crowd quickly to locate the source of the yell, then set off to rush towards Jeffrey and his captors. Reginald Baxter Jameson and one more burly man looked about themselves in absolute and complete confusion, while the third member of their merry party let go of Jeff's arm and darted straight for the opposite side of the alley.

The man that was now on frantic flight was of course the marines' prime target. They passed by the group of now three men that contained Jeff, who used all this confusion to give Reginald an unsophisticated, yet very painful taste of his boot. Unsurprisingly, his second arm came free as well as the huge guy winced and cringed on the floor, trying to shield his private parts from further harm. Jeff didn't even bother to take care of the third fellow. He was stunned with confusion. The blonde just took out a bottle of rum, took a swig of the strong beverage, tucked the bottle away again and continued on with lighting yet another cigar. Didn't pay off to live long, so why not enjoy it while he could?

Jeff silently smiled to himself as he inhaled the smoke of the cigar. He had leafed through the sheets of pirates who'd been added to the bounty list recently, and the face of his third captor matched with that of Greg Marshall perfectly, a small-fry pirate on the very bottom edge of bounties if he'd ever seen any. Whyever the hell such a man would go out of his way to help a damsel in distress was a riddle to Jeff; stupidity, probably, maybe the guy hadn't thought anybody would recognize him without his captain's hat. But Jeff had, and that was why this bluff would even work out in the long run. Jeff didn't even have to dive into the crowd, because face it, nobody would believe a pirate anyways. He could lean back and relax, and maybe, just maybe, cash in the bounty on that guy's head. Not that it was much to begin with.

In a matter of seconds the pirate was apprehended and brought back to the three men that had stayed back. The guy who'd been holding Jeff's arm was still lying on the ground groaning. Greg was having a heated go at the marine officer that had captured him. "I'm telling you, we were gonna bring this pervert to you! He molested a woman in a restaurant!" Jeff knew that this was all about acting, so he changed his mimic slightly, made his hand that held the cigar shiver just a bit, inhaled rather more frequently, with a wide-eyed stare towards the pirate. "D-Don't ye believe that scunner, sir, him and his lackeys were gonna take me orff and sell me into slavery, sir!"

The marine eyed Jeff suspiciously, but the blonde held his ground and above, upheld his nervous facade. "Alright", the man said, sounding slightly annoyed, "We'll just take you along to the HQ and you can tell us the whole story. We'll have to keep you there while we confirm or deny the information you've given us. Come with me, please." With this, the marine patrol strolled off towards HQ, with the three men and Jeff in tow. He was slightly annoyed at the prospect of having to spend his afternoon in a cell, but it was still a better fate than to be stuck in said cell for like a couple of days because of molesting. He was stuck in a solitary, but clean cell and sat down on the hard bedbunk, waiting for pretty much anything to happen.

"Damn, this is some good stuff!" Melody exclaimed as she smiled at the friendly waiter. She was having a terrific time munching down on the burgers and fries that she had ordered. The head chef and owner was so nice, that he had decided to let her have even more things. he said that it was the least he could do for her after having been through such a traumatic experience halfway inside of his establishment. melody, being one to not turn down free stuff, accepted his offer for even more food and ordered away.

The girl was on her second order now. She had a basket of onion rings and pizza in front of her. That was an quite an odd combination of food but she didn't care to order complementary foods. As long as it was food, she would have it. Melody finished the second order after a few minutes and washed it down with her unlimited refills of Diet Soak-a-Cola. "Waiter~!" She called out, looking for the nice young man that delivered food to her. When he found his way to the girl she had a table completely barren of any food or drinks.

"Brownies, ice cream and anything else you have that's sweet!!" the girl ordered. The waiter ran to deliver the order to the chefs without hesitation. While waiting for her dessert to come, she had a lot of time to think about the Night Diamond and how she could get it. A vague idea started forming in her mind of how to get it. The forming of the idea was crushed by the waiter bringing out a tray full of sweets. Melody's eyes lit up and sparkles with delight.

Melody ate the sweets at lightning speed and washed it all down with a strawberry milkshake. Before leaving the restaurant to go to the local marine office, the girl thanked the staff for treating her to a full course meal. The owner asked that she didn't mention the fact that the incident happened at the restaurant's door and she agreed.

The girl took a three hour shopping detour before finally going to the Loguetown Marine Office. She explored around the office to waste a bit of time. During her time exploring the office, she saw a bounty poster with her name on it. Luckily for Melody, her face was not on it since it was a relatively small bounty. "I guess I can lounge around more before I bring that creep to justice."

This was turning out rather boring. Nothing was happening, the marines were taking their sweet time to "interview" the pirates that Jeff had accidentally helped capture. He didn't care a single bit for those guys' fate; they'd be locked up for a couple of years depending on the severity of their crimes, while he would be set on free foot by the end of the afternoon. Unless, that was, if that brat turned up and gave the keepers of the law her side of the story. That'd be unfortunate. The blonde was hating his cell already; they had taken away both his booze and his cigars, and that was making a chain smoker and constant drinker like himself rather giddy. The inmates from the other side of the hallway were trying to talk to Jeff, but the young man paid them no heed. He had his eyes firmly closed and tried to calm down, tried to keep his hands from shaking. How he craved a smoke right now! They couldn't just do this to him, this was like mental torture, surely the marine wasn't that cruel? But there was no warden around to ask for a quick favour, so Jeff just tried to endure the predicament that petite lady had forced him into. Not that it mattered. She basically had the say over what the next couple of months for Jeff would look like, and that basically meant that he was ready to haggle his way to freedom should the girl turn up.

Melody walked over to the desk of a random marine officer. "Hey. I'm here because some creep touched me. Three guys brought him in for me." The marine searched through some papers and then looked at melody. "You look kind of familiar... Have I seen you before?" Melody let out a nervous laugh as she turned her head to the left. "N-no. I'm just a tourist that was unfortunately groped by a molester on this nice island." "Ah, well... We arrested all four men by a mistake. One of them turned out to be a pirate so we'll have you identify the ones who helped you to release them." As the man was talking, she looked around so that he wouldn't focus on her face and get any ideas.

"We'll bring them out one by one. Go get a donut or and some coffee while you wait for us." Melody nodded and went to grab a donut and some coffee just as the marine suggested. The girl found a comfy wooden bench and plumped herself down onto it while she waited for the marines to get her. "I feel like one of those overweight marines when I eat this." This particularly marine branch was a busy one. Since Loguetown was quite a popular tourist attraction there were many pirates that seemed to come to visit too, with it being so populated with tourists wielding the thickest wallets.

"Miss... what did you say your name was again?" The marine had a stack of papers in his hands and a ring full of keys. "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't. How forgetful of me. My name is Symphony. Symphony Opéra." Melody answered as she stood up. "Quite an interesting name. Follow me Ms. Opera." Melody followed him to a room with a one way mirror. There were a few other marine officers in the room but they said nothing. "Just sit tight Ms. Opéra, they will be arriving in just a little bit." The girl smiled at the marine officer. "As long as the man who did it receives justice, I will wait as long as I need to."

Around twenty minutes later, the marine brought in the first batch for a lineup. Melody identified one of the men that had helped her and he was set free. Fifteen minutes after the first lineup, the marines brought in another set of men for a lineup. The girl, again, identified one of the men as someone that had helped her. The men had the chance to thank the girl for clearing things up before they had left. Melody was quite surprised herself. She usually always took the low road with these sort of things.

"I'm terribly sorry Ms. Opéra, but there has been some sort of mix up with the keys. It will be at the least, thirty minutes until the next man comes for a lineup. I'm sorry that you will be hear until just before the sun goes down." Melody shrugged. "I came here for the shopping and tourist attractions, not some lovey-dovey sunset. I actually have a nighttime reservation for some some restaurant, so I can wait." Melody sat in a chair and waited for them to bring out the next man. Waiting in a marine office as a wanted pirate was nerve-racking, but it was Melody Notes that was wanted, not Symphony Opéra. And without a picture of her, they really couldn't do anything like arrest her.

Here it came. At long last - it felt like it'd been hours in that solitary cell, hours devoid of alcohol and tobacco, pure torture - a marine came to Jeff's cell and rummaged about to produce a set of keys. "You done interviewing them gents then? C'n I go about and cash in my reward already?", he asked. The marine shook his head. "The pirate insists you were molesting a girl in the bar, and now a girl has come in to report a molester. We're doing a lineup to reconstruct what happened.", he answered, and Jeff gritted his teeth inwardly. On the outside, he was plain baffled. "There's been a few womenfolk in that bar.", he remarked, as if to suggest that the pirate's crew had all lounged about when he'd been captured. It would be beneficial to his side of the story and the plausibility of what he'd said to act like this now.

There was no way of evading this rather dangerous formality, it seemed. Jeff got up from his bunkbed, heaving his heavy torso off the rock-hard mattress. He dusted himself off; you never knew what kind of parasites and dirt lingered in a marine cell, even if they claimed to keep them clean. Then he strutted on behind the uniformed man to be brought up between a good fifteen men that had also been pulled out of their cells just for the routine check-up. None of them looked like Jeff. Well, bugger. He was a bit too notorious, it seemed, and that'd come back to bite him in the arse right then and there. His mind worked furiously on how he'd get out of this mess if the girl he'd tried to mug wouldn't cooperate. It didn't help that his hands still wouldn't stop shaking; if he only had a straw to chew on or something, he might be able to calm down a bit. But he hadn't, and Jeff refrained from grinding his teeth. He'd learned that they would be damaged from too much grinding, and it was his intention to be able to eat meat even in old age. He had to look after his body for that. At least his teeth were important.

"Miss Opéra, the men are being brought in for the lineup.. Are you ready to identify the man that touched you?" Melody nodded as she stood up. It was a fair bit until they located the right keys to get the molester out of his cell. In that time, the marine decided to take Melody on a trip around the station to show her how they operated. Never in her dreams did she think she would get to visit a marine station willingly. She learned quite a few things on her little tour; the most notable thing being that what they say about marines and donuts is true.

Melody was eventually brought back to the room to identify another man. This time it was the molester that was in the lineup. Melody could have pointed him out in a room of his twin brothers if she needed to. She took a long look at his mug and then sighed. "He's not there, the molester. That drunken idiot was there, but I think he was sleeping on the ground or something. Isn't he a hobo? He sure smelled like one." The marine asked her if she was sure with his finger hovering above the buzzer. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure. He is more guilty of alcohol abuse than he is of touching me."

"Alright," the marine said as he looked away from Melody and through the one-way glass. "We're done here," he said after he clicked the button. The marine turned back to Melody and escorted her through the door. "Unfortunately, the last man was actually a pirate. We'll have to look into him further. "I guess it's sort of my fault that he was arrested. But whatever. I don't have time to worry about idiots that don't know how to escape from marines." Her eyes fell upon the molester that had a marine at his side. "Would it be okay if I talked to the homeless man? I think I dropped something near him that he may have picked up." The marine shrugged, "Sure. Have a nice day ma'am."

"Hey Mister Mo-Homeless man! I'm glad you're okay!" She called out as she walked up to the man. "It'd be a real shame if you were arrested, wouldn't it?" she said as though she held his freedom in the palm of her hand. "Anyways, I lost something where you were at. I remember seeing you there and I thought you may have seen it. Care to help me retrieve it?"

Several hours later after hamburgers...

The moon stood high on the sky and covered the world in a pale grey facet. Even the jewelry that supposedly was Melody's target looked a lot more spooky during the night. Not only that, but it looks a lot bigger than it did during the day with the help of long shadows and the dramaticness of the full moon.

Guarding the main entrance were two well-built guards with enough armor to make a tank look weak, not really but over exaggerating is always fun. They stood still on each side of the door, barely breathing to catch any sound that made it through the night.

There was just one man guarding the side-entrance who looked pretty much the same as the other guards, but to balance it out was that door better locked and smaller than the main entrance. "Man, this is boring..." he mumbled for himself.

"Ugh. Mister Homeless, you smell like dogshit and alcohol. I'm surprised I didn't catch this scent before now!" Melody covered her nose and backed off. "This man is drunk! Get him away from me!" Melody yelled as she ran off. She decided that since her prospective helper didn't meet her standards of cleanliness, she would have to take the jewelry robbing into her own hands. The girl hurried out of the marine's office and went to sit outside of the jewelry place for a bit.

She ended up staking out the place for what became a few hours. She had snacks and her music to keep her occupied, but there was only so much a girl could endure. Once midnight hit, which was just a guess hon her part, she had no actual idea when midnight hit, she decided to move out. Under the moonlight, the big store seemed a bit creepy. The thought of getting those valuable night diamonds kept her going through the creepiness.

The girl had two choices: either take the main entrance with two guards or take the side entrance with one guard. Melody was a woman that preferred comfort and ease. Without a second thought, she decided to take the route with the one man. She positioned herself beside a bench to keep herself hidden. "What can I do to lure him out?" The girl scratched her chin in thought as she looked up at the stars. "That's it!"

Melody crept as closely as she could without revealing herself. She pulled out her flute and started playing an enchanting tune. It was low enough to ot be heard all over, but loud enough for the single guard to pick upon it as a faint sound. Melody was hidden behind a trashcan, around ten or so meters off as she played her flute. "Take the bait, sucker," she thought as she played slowly.

The guards heard the yelling, but payed little to no attention to it since it really had nothing to with them. They were assigned to guard the jewelry and guard the jewelry they would, no matter what happened. They were professionals, they had a reputation to think of among those who could pay their prizes.

However, as Melody started to play her music on her flute it caught that one guard off guard. It was like he was remembering the sound from a long time ago, as if it was inside his head. This made the guard curious! Curious enough to leave his post, professionalism yea riiiight, and walk with slow step towards the its source.

It took only seconds before he passed Melody's traschcan with his weapon at ready. Sure the sounds was comforting, but it could still be an enemy who was trying something sneaky. Holding his sword in front of him stopped he a few meters away from Melody, after passing her.

Her tune lured the curious guard away from his post, just as she had planned. It was the tune of an old lullaby that pretty much everyone had heard in their youth; no matter their status, wealth or race. She didn't really plan on luring the guard so close, but it happened. It was just something that the girl would have to deal with.

"Oh boy! A sword!" Melody sarcastically exclaimed in the confines of her mind. There was no way in hell that she was going to beat the man in a direct fight. She couldn't even beat someone without a sword in a direct fight, even if she tried her hardest. As the man walked past her and the trashcan she was hidden behind, her mind raced like a track star. Was she going to try to land a cheap shot on the guard? Or would she try to make a break for it and pick the lock at lightning speed? Decisions, decisions.

Ultimately, she decided to make a run for it. As she placed her hands flat on the ground to push herself up, she felt a rock jabbing her hand. "?" She quickly picked the rock up when the guard stopped. It was almost a pebble, not nearly enough to damage the guard, but large enough to make noise. She threw the small rock just a bit past the guard to make a sound that the guard could hear. Whether or not he fell for it, Melody did not know. She started running right after she threw the rock. Some would even say that she was already running when she threw the rock.

When she made it to the door, she immediately pulled out her lock picking tools and started fumbling around with them. She had no idea about what the guard was up to. The girl only focused on picking the lock on the door in front of her to get into the establishment.

The stone that Melody had thrown made progress with getting the guards attention. Just as the pebble hit the ground reacted the guard by taking a defensive stance with his sword. "Who's there!?" he shouted, quiet enough so the other guards wouldn't hear him and loud enough for anyone within 15m reach to hear it loud and clear. Focusing on this task, didn't the heavily armored man notice the girl running around behind him.

Since no one answered did the guard assume that it was a rat or a street urchin that had knocked something over and made the noise, nothing he needed to worry about. "Tch, damn rug rats..." mumbling was he now turning around, Melody had only a couple of seconds before she was noticed and the alarm would go off.

Pick locking a high quality lock was anything but easy and Melody would most certainly notice that. Though it was only a matter of time before the lock would be unlocked and thief would be able to enter the building. The question was, however, if the guard would notice her before she managed to sneak into the jewelry or not!

Click!

The lock went open and now it was just for Melody to enter the jewelry, but she had to hurry or else the guard would see her!

A lone sweat drop raced down the side of Melody's face as she furiously picked at the lock in her hand. Considering the time that she was spending on trying to open the lock was more than a few second, she assumed that the lock must have been of higher quality. Most normal locks only took the girl seconds to pick, but not this one. This particular lock had to be rebellious and not open for her as fast as she wanted. "Dammit, just open you complicated, piece of shit!" Melody yelled under her breath as she tried to pick the lock.

A sudden click confirmed Melody's successful picking of the lock. The girl smiled as she slowly opened the door. As she opened the door, she looked back at the guard. It appeared that he had turned around and was walking back towards his post. She wasn't sure if he could see her or not, but she wasn't going to risk letting him see her. Melody immediately slipped through he door to the other side. Once she was in she started closing the door very slowly so that there wouldn't be too big of a sound made from closing.

"Whew~ I'm in. Now on to retrieving these night diamonds." Melody deposited her lock picking tools in her bag and started to move on. The inside was dark and she was not exactly sure where she was going, but she did remember that the diamonds were on the top floor. All she had to do was find her way to the steps and after that, she remembered exactly how to get to the room from there. She had a flashlight in her bag, but she was not going to pull it out. For all she knew, there could have been guards on the interior in addition to the guards outside.

She blindly walked through the darkness, feeling around for anything that could lead her to a flight of stairs. "Dammit it's too dark in here!" Melody exclaimed quietly in anger.
