Gwen nervously nodded, smiling softly at Bradley. She almost forgot about the marines, and was about to unleash hell, when a fourth, flamboyant man showed his face and faced the marines with rapier drawn. He said something about 'future pirate kings' which didn't really mean much to her, she couldn't take him seriously at all. What was positive in her mind was that he was on their side. At first, the three marines went for Bradley, obviously thinking him to be the leader, and they seemed to be pretty relaxed, as if he would be easy to defeat. Gwen knew better, and instead of helping, she let her probable captain take care of things. As he easily took down the inexperienced marine, she forgot about the bounty hunter who was still up to the challenge. He was a sneaky bastard, clubbing her straight in the back. She fell hard onto her hands and knees, but muffled her surprise. He tried it again, but at this time, she rolled to the right, and quickly leapt up, grabbing one of her dropped knives and cutting into the wooden club a little. He was certainly strong, but he wasn't too clever. He drew back and brought the club down on her again, and with a loud crack, it pressed against her forearm. She winced, feeling the bones almost crack, but held her ground as best she could. Lucky for her, having good stamina saved her from being out-matched. This time, she was serious. Gone was her relaxed smirk; now she was focused, "Hey, wife beater! Forget about me going easy on your ass now!" she laughed, bringing her foot down on his right foot, making him leap up in surprise, "Zumo!" Whilst he was annoyed and trying to get back into the game, she picked up her other knife and ran forward. He brought his club down, but it was a bit too late. It caught her on the shoulder, but she managed to cut him, and disarm him with a bit of hesitation. He was worn out already from fighting the red haired man, and looked back at her with a worried expression. She brought both knives back, and slashed him down the chest, defeating him in one stroke. She clutched her shoulder and sighed heavily, smiling at him as he fell out of for the count, "Cotar! And that's your dessert." |

His eccentricity got the best of him as he blurted out what he expected from the would be pirate. There was no reason for the boy to allow him to join, in fact there was no reason for following the group, but something drew him there. Something intangible, yet it drew him in like a moth to a flame. Plus, they all pretty much took care of the marines for him, there was nothing needed to be done on his part. The marines were not as mesmerized as Basil was at their fellow people getting attacked. Seeing the rather skinny, rather weak looking man in a suit they decided if they gang up on Basil it'd be easy to take him out and call it a day. The marines rushed with their blades over head trying to swing down onto Basil only to be stopped by a a very heavy suit case. "Now, now gentlemen," said Basil, "That lacked a certain flair from you both." Pushing the suit case away from the blades and making the marines stumble due to the follow through he quickly used his rapier's pommel across the back of their heads to knock them both out. As ugly as their uniforms were there was no reason to kill them. "Well, your blood could spice up those nasty things you're wearing." Edited by DeT, Sep 7 2011, 10:21 PM.

Just as quickly as Bradley had dispatched of the first marine, the rookie soon found that this random ensemble of odd characters had dispatched of the rest. The woman known as Gwen fought with precision becoming of a ninja or swordsman, though through utilization of what appeared to be common kitchen-knives. The red head whom had fallen through the roof utilized martial skill alike himself, however in an art far different than his own. And the oddest member of the small group, another whom Bradley had not yet come to know by name, seemed to be of a proficiency beyond his own, all while maintaining a sort of debonair and stylish charm. Turning to the ensemble, a little bewildered that they had so easily overcome what originated as overwhelming odds, Bradley grinned as he reached up and scratched the back of his head. “ Wow, you guys all came in the knick of time!” Looking over the three before him, Bradley cocked his head and pondered on how to go further. It would seem that the Red Feather was going to be executed momentarily a few blocks down, and that the number of bounty hunters was many times higher than the opponents they had just now faced. In truth it was unlikely that any majority of the townspeople possessed significant power beyond that of ordinary men, for the structure of the capture on this island seemed to be through organization of a large mob and thus significantly outnumbering their target. A strategical thinker would note the difficulties of being significantly outnumbered, and form a plan utilizing his own small numbers to his advantage. However without true emotional inspiration, and rather being fueled by the idea of “fantastic piracy”, Bradley was not thinking strategically. Looking directly towards the redhead, Gwen, and the fashionista, Bradley inquired about just who had come to his salvation. “I intend to learn more about those to whom I owe my thanks, but we should be in a hurry, so names only will work fine for now!” Turning on heel while still hearing the others introduce themselves, Bradley made his way over towards what he believed to be the town square. Persons had gathered within the large, open lot that stood audience to an elevated wooden platform, the familiar figure of the Red Feather on his kneels and facing the bounty hunters in shameful display. Bradley could make out the pirate's gritted teeth and enraged face, and could see his body shudder as he fought hard to break his binds. The crowd before them jeered at the Red Feather, some tossing vegetables and fruit, while others shouted nasty words and chanted for the pirate's execution. Though no where on par with the world-changing event having taken place in Loguetown so many years ago, Bradley could only imagine how the scene before him compared to the day the Pirate King died, now stuck on the notion as presented by the fashionista. No marines seemed to be in the immediate vicinity, and as the crowd was silenced by the older man from before, Bradley could not help but notice a prominent and shadowy figure remaining in the backdrop of the execution platform. The man was tall and lengthy, adorning a costume that resembled a mixture of both a victorian soldier's uniform, and a cowboy's common garb. A large falchion was sheathed across his back, easily as long as a standard greatsword, and a small cat rubbed up against his leg purring. The figure may not have done anything more to illicit awe and respect above the other citizens, yet the very demeanor in which the figure held himself released an aura that commanded intimidation. Something deep in his gut told Bradley that the new figure was one to avoid. While Bradley waited for the speech to begin, the large man whom he had hit with the rock merely pointed to the new figure, issuing a small and startling order. “We have read the man's crimes and established the punishment. Yoosung, put this man to death!” Suddenly realizing that he and his small group had arrived too late, Bradley thrashed into the back of the crowd in a feeble attempt to make his way to the podium, only to be blocked out by the tight-packed bounty hunters still chanting for the Red Feather's death. The shadowy man rose up, placing a single hand on his falchion, and swung it down with a speed and force beyond any Bradley had seen mustered. In an instant the stubborn pirate known as the Red Feather had been disposed of, the platform in which he was executed having nearly shattered from the force of the final blow. Frozen by his failure to save the pirate in which he hoped of recruiting, Bradley stepped back a bit while little by little, the crowd turned in the direction that he and the others stood. “ Uhh... back to the docks everyone....back to the docks!” Waving his arms he ushered the others to where his ship was supposed to be docked, while rumbles in the crowd grew in recognition of who he was. |

The fight was over quick, the marines and two bounty hunters were disposed of quickly, and Nad was very impressed by the skill of his new crewmates, his captain appeared to use martial arts not unlike himself, and from the way Gwen held her knives and how she used him he could guess that she was a chef not unlike himself, however he wasn't able to use them to kill people as she seemed able to do, as for the man in the strange clothes, he still did not know his name but he appeared to be more skilled then any of the when it came to fighting, his opponant did not stand a chance. Bradley mumbled a word of gratitude and walked off, presumably to try and stop the execution of the pirate he'd been talking to earlier, Nad sighed and stared at the other two, looking at them now he couldn't see them getting along, everyone was different and unique in their own way. He stood up and stretched his arms, he wanted to get to know them a bit more, especially Gwen, at some point but right now wasn't the time. I'm Nad the Redhead, so called for the colour of my hair as you may have guessed, and you guys look pretty impressive, I think we best go help our captain The others introduced themselves but he didn't really pay much attention, He turned to follow Bradley and then there was a loud crack, no doubt the execution had already taken place, they were too late, he sighed, only one thing could make a sound like that, Yoosung had most likely used his sword, thinking about it, he realised there really wasn't much they could do to help the Red feather, not while that man was here, suddenly Bradley was running back towards them, yelling for them to get to the docks, and then he saw them, the mob of angry bounty hunters chasing after Bradley, he wasn't sure how he'd missed them, he took a step back again and as his new captain ran past him he turned and did the same, he decided it'd be best to follow Bradley, he looked like he knew where he was going. |

The battle was over pretty quickly, with the arrival of a 3rd man, who was undeniably strong, compared to her level anyway. The bounty hunters were out for the count, and the marines were down, too, knocked out without much bloodshed. She sighed and winced as she touched her shoulder, but except that very noticable injury, she was in near perfect condition. Her arms still stung a little from the blunt force of the club. Irt was something she could live with. Right now it was time for a moment of rest. At this point, Bradley took a breath, and thanked the three for their assistance. She shrugged, smiling weakly. "Well, you know my name already, don't you?" she smirked, replacing her knives into their hilts, "Oh, but of course, the new guy... Yo, i'm Gwen! You came at the right moment, Mr. Rapier!" As she tried to begin a conversation with them all, a shout from a few streets away alerted her to the execution oh the Red Feather. The darkest-looking man she'd seen for quite some tiome appeared, dressed in arcane clothing and a pet Cat circling his feet. He had a large bladed weapon at his side, which seemed to be stained. Was he really willing to spill his blood right now? The answer must have been yes, as Bradley was no longer at their side, and instead pushed and shoved through the crowd in a desperate bid to save him. He was on his knees on the podium, was the Red Feather, as the chants grew louder and more vicious. She didn't have time to look away as the falchion was unsheathed and brought down with a sickening thud onto the neck of the poor pirate. The cheers subsided, and she only managed to see a new issue: the bounty hunters had their eyes on Bradley. They could've attacked a mob, but this Yoosung character was a monster. When she saw him run back, past them shouting something about getting back to the docks, she couldn't agree more. She took a few steps back, watching Nad, the red haired man, run with the captain. Then she did something unexpected, and kind of immature. "Well, you bounty hunters are losers! I hate this island anyway!" she shouted, watching them gain up to her. She responded by pulling a face and saluting as she turned on a dime, rushing off to aid Bradley. |

"Basil," said the designer as he followed the group of youngsters. It was obvious that they were quite new to this game of pirating, but that didn't mean he could not shape them. Shape them to be the perfect models for his clothing. "Glad to make your acquaintance." They finally stopped at the site of the old pirate's death. A death that was as quick as it was gruesome. "Tasteless. Such a man should not exist in this world." Basil continued as he about faced with Howard on his shoulder following Bradley. The man in the dark clothing was clearly had no sense of style and that made him angry. The old pirate deserved a better death than going out with his head chopped off. It was a horrible way to go and Basil would be damned if he was going to go out like that. He will be known forever by his spirit and his clothes. He will make these three into the best models and portraits of his clothing than they will ever know. And they will be loved by all... well their clothes will anyways. "We should leave. We have much to accomplish and staying here in a classless place will not help." Very philosophical of him. |

After hustling everyone away, Bradley took the lead as they hastily made their way towards the docks. The crowd that had surrounded the execution was not quick to form and follow suit, though several of the bounty hunters immediately dispatched after them. After consensus formed around what had gone down, and knowledge of their attack on the marines had circulated, the rest of the crowd begun their pursuits as well. Making headway towards the docks, the small band of randomly gathered outlaws could hear the voices of the crowd as they organized to hunt them down. Drawing within range of when he should have been able to see the mast of his ship, a wave of fear washed over Bradley. 'Crap, where the heck is my ship?' They small group busted onto the wooden surface of the dock to find the entire dock empty, void of all the ships that had been there earlier, minus one heavily manned ship in the distance. “ No Escape?” He said aloud with a tone of utter disbelief. The bounty hunters were surely closing in on them, and the dock offered few escapes aside from ones by sea. Glancing around quickly, the young rookie could only see empty docks, abandoned crates, and the empty marine post. ' The empty marine post!' “ Quick, this way, don't alert the men down the dock that we are here.” Hurrying to the marine outpost, which was no more than a small cabin on the edge of the dock, Bradley opened the door and ushered his three companions inside, pulling the curtains shut on the window after shutting and locking the door. The chances of them being found inside the marine outpost, especially when they were wanted for attacking marines, were so low that he doubted anyone would search the cabin. Likely the injured marines were being shuttled away to a doctor, while the remaining marines were searching for them along with the bounty hunters. ' Even with our assault on the marines however, our bounties could not have gone up too much. Their search won't last forever.' Turning to the rest of them, Bradley sighed audibly. “ I think were good for now, I doubt the reward would be high enough for them to waste too much searching for us... though I don't think their leader will give up on us after I hit him with that rock...” He looked about the three before him, noting none of them appeared to have too much hope in him. Scratching the back of his head, Bradley chuckled a bit, finding it comical that he hoped to be a pirate captain and yet was so inexperienced. “ My ship is gone, all the ships appear to be gone. There has to be a reason for that. The marines ought to have a file for this island somewhere in here, I think we ought to search for it. We seem to be the only outsiders on the island, if the ships were stolen they would most likely be moved to another safe location on this island.” Hurrying to his feet as he realized he was not spewing complete baloney, Bradley pushed past the various obstacles and approached the file cabinets behind Basil, noting there were many. “ Alright everyone lets try and do this quick, I'd like to make it out in one piece.” ' More like to find One Piece...' Lifting one of the shelves out of the cabinet and dumping papers on the table, Bradley began to frantically search throughout the files. Many of the files were on people, individual business, and captured pirates. An extraordinary amount were on capturing pirates. ' Darn, they have quite little bounty collection operation here, this is a ridiculous amount of files. Amongst the files he searched through himself, the image of the large older man whom seemed to be in charge of the bounty hunters had popped up, putting name and identity to his face. “ I found who the large guy is: Mayor Isenbaum, one of three mayors of the Hitsuji Archipelago. In charge of Shiroi Village for the past 13 years, considered the weakest of the three mayors. Crap, nothing about the stolen ships...” Dropping the file, he continued to rummage. |

Nad allowed himself to be ushered into the cabin, he didn't really have any alternative but to follow this man, and now he wasn't so sure, thinks appeared to be looking bleak for them and there seemed to be little chance of escape, he collapsed into a nearby chair and sighed, he heard the sound of people running around outside but none appeared to be approaching the Marine Outpost, this was a good thing and Nad was quite surprised his new leader was smart enough to think up this idea, as long as they stayed here noone would find them. Bradley ordered them to start searching the documents as to the wereabouts of his missing ship, Nad was skeptical, considering Bradley had only arrived today, it would be unlikely any such documents would be kept, he watched as His captain rifled through the list of bounties, rather then follow suit Nad decided to think about the whole thing, he'd been working there for a few years now, ever since he was sent off by the captain of his old ship, to save his life, and if he could recall, any ships taken from pirates were almost instantly sold to the smallest of the three villages, he hadn't visited there much but from what he knew, they dismantled ships for lumber and sold it to traders visiting the island, the village was called Haiiro if he remembered correctly, While the others went about searching for clues Nad pondered what the best course of action would be. If they went after the boat, chances are it was already scrapped, they were efficient about the business after all, and they'd get caught by that angry mob. But if they stayed here until night, they may be able to commandeer another boat. Nad sat in his chair, leaned back and looked at the ceiling, he was having difficulty deciding what to do, though he could understand the captain being attached to his ship he just didn't see the point in going to die for it, they might need one but if that came to it, they were pirates, they could just steal another boat, one that's bigger, he sighed, confused on what the right course of action was. |

After being 'saved' by Bradley shoving her into the cabin, she sighed softly, and regained her composure. It was the marine base for the island, but the only one she had ever been close to, or even inside. She imagined it was understaffed, and the three they found were the only marines doing anything at all. It was the populace that ran the island. And now without a ship, it would be pretty hard to escape without island hopping. Still, there were plenty of records, and now they were safe, she could check through it. It was with a sigh from her that the explanation began. Bradley had a ship, or was going to find a ship, but now the ships were gone. His idea was faulty. He mentioned them being on the other side of the island, which gave them more trouble heaped on top of the pressure of escaping. Still, she kept calm. If anyone was to be the calm and reasonable crew member, it would be her. He finished, and she laughed weakly. She was impressed. One Piece, hm? She would definitely be his second chef now. At least she had some skills except cooking food. She crossed to the other side of the room, and sighed as she opened books and texts, making a mess as she went, despite being tidy all the time. She frowned, with each problem being played out to her by the books. The island with the most bounty hunters also had a strong mayor, and such names as 'Field the Felid' and 'Brutal Baxter' cropped up. Of course, they sounded impressive, but she was a pirate who wasn't used to the north blue. That could mean pretty much anything. She thought that consulting Bradley would be a better idea. She opened the last book, and in it were a few photographs of boats. They were about ten years old, but something about the location was weird. Was this on the furthest island away? She had a gut feeling it was. "Yo, Bradley?" she shouted, looking around for him, "If you know the layout of this island, or islands or whatever, do you think this is a landmark for where the ships are?" |

Bradley rummaged through more papers to no avail, and began to doubt they would find anything at all. As he reviewed the file he had brought up on Yoosung, Gwen called from across the room with apparent findings. Dropping the files in his hand, Bradley hurried over the the female warrior, peering over he shoulder to see the files she had stumbled upon. “ Its a whole intricate operation? The first and second island are home to mass amounts of bounty-hunters, with the second island being stronger and more successful than the first. Most Pirate activity happens on the second island, and the third island is full of carpenters who dismantle and sell the left behind pirate ships. That must be where they took all the ships in the docks!” Turning towards the others, Bradley gave them a look over once more. He liked to think of himself as capable in a fight, but chances are he was much less capable than those around him, and that none of them were capable beyond any sort of extraordinary means. If they wanted to make it off the island, they would need to snatch the first ship possible, and sneak their way from island to island in order to reach the ship and escape with their lives. Having searched the building for roughly 10 minutes, their presence in the marine outpost was growing riskier with each passing moment. Sure that the remaining marines would come back before long, and that alarm would be raised as a response, he tossed the papers down onto the floor, keeping only the map. “ This is just what we need here. The map points to the initial checkpoint for ship transportation at the northern edge of this island, right before the small channel to the next island. If we head out the side door, there, we can proceed north through the woods.” Rolling up the map, Bradley headed swiftly to the door and opened it, holding it while the others passed through. Closing the door to ensure that their method of exit was not discovered, Bradley moved with haste towards the woods, ushering the others to follow. Whispering, he consulted with Gwen about the game-plan, ” North is that direction, the map makes it look like were headed to a coast of some sorts, why don't you lead and I'll cover flank?” |

Nad was busy collected in his thoughts when Bradley had decided to him, so it was a surprise when he found himself being pushed out of the marine outpost and led towards the north, they walked as a group with Bradley taking the flank while Gwen led the way, he thought this was a bit unusual that the captain was so quick to relinquish leadership to another, let alone someone who would know as little as he himself did, however Nad decided; it was not his place to question his captain nor his motives, maybe he was just trying to get on the good side of this new girl and he could hardly blame him, they continued walking for a while, every now and then stopping and hiding behind a bush to let a patrol of bounty hunters pass by. Nad made no attempt at conversation, they may have spoken to each other but he hadn't heard them, he was busy mulling over the days events, and wondered how he'd gone from a cook in a less then one star bar to a wanted criminal, not that there was much difference, people were still trying to kill him, only this time it wasn't over some money, he could hear it now, he examined his captain, looking him up and down and weighing him up, he did not look like an extraordinary fighter, nor did he look very experianced at this whole pirate business, the fact that he had no bounty spoke volumes about his past life, that he never did anything exceptional or illegal, but there was something, like a voice at the back of his head screaming to him, that this man, who he only knew for a handful of hours, was going to be great, that this crew, would one day become famous, he wasn't sure if this was his hope, or if it was destiny telling him to follow this man, but he just new, that if he did not go along with this man, he'd regret it his entire life. Then he heard it, a silent whispering at the back of his head, he wasn't sure what it was, it was just a low murmur, the words were not audible, but it sounded like it was repeating something over and over again. Nad had this horrible feeling like he'd forgotten something terribly important, quickly he looked to his wrist just to reassure himself that the watch had not gone missing, the others carried on walking, Nad stared down at the watch and it's reflective face, he looked at his own face and was stunned, because it was not his, Nad blinked and rubbed his eyes and his face was back to normal, and the whispering gone, he shivered, breathed in to calm himself and ran to catch up with the others, who had already gotten a fair deal ahead of him. He didn't know what just happened, nor think about it, because something told him if he did, it would end very very badly. |

Listening intently to Bradley's plan, Gwen felt reassured. The dismantling docks on the third island, hm? She was almost excited to find whatever was there. A new boat, obviously, but more than that. A crew. She listened further to his ideas, which seemed more and more likable. It was a straight, clear path, and with some luck and a lot of stealth, maybe they could get there without a fight. Still, the marines were still around, as were all the hundred plus bounty hunters, with stronger ones on each island until the end. It would be a hell of a journey, but nothing compared to the rest of the sea. The next idea was hard to swallow. Surprised that Bradley wanted to flank, and even more so at the fact she was asked to lead, she nodded politely as the side door opened, and Bradley started off toward the woods on the island, heading toward the north shore. She had more knowledge of the sea, so that seemed like the best idea. She would lead? Quite risky, knowing that they both didn't know the way, but she would try her best. Still, something was on her mind, "Well, you're the captain, right? I would feel better if you led, but if you insist. We'll have to find somewhere to cross to the next shore, possibly a coral reef, right?" By this point, she was on the edge of the forest, and saw a few large oak trees, which seemed unnatural compared to the weedy trees around it. She could see an orange tree in the distance, too, and when they passed, she would have to take some. And now with three fighters flanking her and providing cover, she could take some time. She heard shouting in the background, and assumed it was the marines. She hoped they would be too slow to stop them." |

Basil vaguely listened to what was going on with the islands. It did not interest him in the least. Uncouth and unsavory people using these islands as a means to get rich? Off of other people's fortune? Classless lot, all of them, but he digressed and Howard was bored. It was time to listen to his new captain and be done with this silly unfashionable island. And so he followed the girl who led them to a forest. "An awful place to take us to." Basil quickly quipped as he walked besides the girl. "I have never been fond of forests." He looked at the forest. He looked at his shoes. "Nature has a habit of destroying the finer things in life." But Nature had a habit of helping too. In the forest it would be a lot harder to track them. Putting his hand on his face Basil shook his head. "But I guess if we are going to be chased we'll have to make it difficult for them." |

Bradley had taken the flank to ensure that the small group did not leave a track to be followed, wiping away at any large footprints as the more mature and seemingly sane Gwen lead the way through the forest. He figured that as long as they were on their clear path it made no difference who lead, though it was very important who followed. Satisfied that they left no clues behind during their expedition into the woods, Bradley caught up with Gwen as tall oak trees broke into view in the distance, standing out in opposition to the smaller trees around them. Slightly to the east of the oak forest the reflection of the ocean water could be seen, telling Bradley that they were not too far from the break in the islands that would likely possess a bridge. Shouting came from behind them, seemingly disorganized and slightly frantic. 'The majority of the town must have regrouped by now, surely only stragglers and the marines are following us now.' Stopping on the border of the oak forest, Bradley turned around to gain a better view of who was possibly chasing them, only to witness the tree beside him partially erupt in splinters as a small cannonball sank into its trunk. ” Quick, into the forest! They are after us!” Taking lead of the small band, Bradley ducked beneath the trunk of a fallen tree as cannon fire sank randomly into the forest around them. None of the balls were really aimed directly at them, and more than likely the group of 15 or so bounty hunters that had followed them were simply attempting to shell the forest with their cannonfire, though not doing the large oaks any true damage. ' The band is probably lead by Yoosung or that damned mayor himself, our bounties haven't even been published, it can only be assumed whoever is following us is doing so for specific reasons, alike revenge.' Turning to the others while he caught his breath under splintered oak, Bradley checked on the crew and established some basic plans. ” Is everyone alright? Anyone get hit by shrapnel or anything of the like? They seem to be attacking somewhat overzealously. The oak portion of this forest didn't look to be too much bigger, thus we should be reaching the northern shore within the next few hundred yards. The map showed a bridge at its crossing, so we'll have to try to make it across that. Try and keep up as best you can, or pass me by if you can run faster.” Checking to make sure everyone was on the same page, Bradley took off again, staying close to larger trees to ensure no cannonball hit him. The oaks cleared as they reached the end of the forest, the sandy beach and woodenbridge coming completely into their view. There was no ship docked at the shoreline, though a couple ships could be seen in the distance, and the neighboring island to the north could be seen entirely clearly. ' The bridge ends right at the entrance of the next island's major city. Just our luck...' “ Lets follow close knit and slow down once we make it more than halfway across the bridge. There is no reason to believe that the bounty hunters on this next island want our heads, and it will be easier if we can pass through with little interference.” Still hustling as he made it onto the entrance of the woodenbridge, tire and surprise brought Bradley's legs to a stop as he focused on a ship that was sailing roughly 500 yards in the distance. ” Dammit, thats my ship!” |

Dirt sprayed around Nad as he ran, the air was filled with splinters and shrapnel which was passing dangerously close to his body, yet by some miracle not hitting him, trees around him shattered and erupted into splinters and debris, cannon balls landed wildly around him without any real sense of direction, some landed too short from him, others too far, but some came so close that they nearly hit him Nad was panting Heavily when they finally stopped, this is crazy, he thought, there was no real chance of escape yet he felt this sudden hope come over him, like maybe, just maybe they’d get away with this. Personally, he though to himself, I’d rather take on that damn waitress, more cannonball fire engulfed the woods until finally Bradley stopped, Nad stood panting from the mad dash through cannon ball forest, Bradley explained to him the plan, Nad thought it was a good one, though his brain was on cloud nine at the moment and his body was busy pumping adrenaline, so he wasn’t really in a good position to form any accurate judgments. They set off running again; a cannon ball passed dangerously close to Nads face and embedded itself into a nearby oak, the tree wasn’t that big but it surprisingly stood its ground against the lump of metal, not even surrendering an inch, which was the complete opposite of what Nad was now doing, he ran as fast as he could then finally the trees broke away and they arrived at a beach area, Bradley stopped and spoke but Nad wasn’t really paying much attention, then he began to head for the wooden bridge, Nad followed but Bradley came to a standstill about midway, Nad stopped again, greatful for the rest but soon regretted it, as Bradley said something that ment Nad would now need to do more running. |
