The sun began its descent from high noon as the day moved past its halfway point, the sea changing tides as he crept closer to the shore. The ocean's waves moved gently through the archipelago only slightly rocked the skiff as Bradley tried to single-handily tie it down. The trip from Saint-Reia had been a long and tedious one, with the young navigator almost having lost hope several times. Rations on food and supplies had went short multiple times, and at a single point he even had to cross the mainland in order to get around the Grand Line's tumultuous waters. Yet as his ship set down on the small island that housed Kuroi Village, the young rookie finally found a place to clear his head and assess his own goals. With his skiff tied down, he turned to face the peaceful little town and proceeded off the dock, taking a seat on a bench along the shoreline. Pulling free his compass and scroll, he began drawing the rest of the map that he had been creating, completing the pathway from the red line to what ought to be the Hitsuji Archipelago. Not native to the area, he knew little to nothing about the three islands that made up the archipelago, but was not too impressed from what he had seen. A small marine outpost was stationed at the docks, though looked like a mere scout-house and could not hold more than 5 marines comfortably. The light World-Government protection told Bradley that either the town had its own police force, or for some odd reason possessed some hidden form of protection. Noting the waters were smooth sailing all around, the defense could not be a geographical one, and thus the Gold Rookie was a tad bit on edge.

Staring off at the rolling waves, he recalled the trip he had taken from his home island, as well as the sorrow and rage that filled him as he endeavored across powerful waves and through heavy rain. The marines that had once taken his brother from him through enlistment, had brought him back to Saint Reia only to take him away once again by snuffing the life from his very body. Even as he reflected on the event now, when over a month had passed, Bradley could feel his fist tighten. Rage building once more in his eyes, Bradley stared off at the small marine outpost. If there were five marines, he would be outmatched and outclassed in all likelihood, and the unprovoked attack may bring him attention he did not want as of yet. He felt he ought to do some good for the world in his brother's name, though his desire to become a pirate and his romanticized concept of piracy had a stronger pull on him. The very least he could do for his brother was most likely to combat the World Government at any chance presented in order to promote general freedom, for while his brother possessed morals much better than his own, it was his own poor decisions that lead to his demise. The world was not one that could improve through one good and peaceful man's wishes, but rather it was one where people idolized villainous figures, be they pirates or marines, and lived for the greed and lust of wrath that consumed their small minds. It was this same greed and wrath that filled the young revolutionary, and the same idolization that made him desire to be a grand pirate. Raised in the chaos of Saint Reia, the concept of piracy had captivated Bradley since he was very young, just knowing that he could live an action-packed life on his own terms, free on the sea and limited in wealth only by what he could take. He could liberate countries that were enslaved by the World Government, and could be an image of terror to the oppressors.

Yet the dreams of the young revolutionary were still far off, because as all he thoughts kept returning to the situation at hand, he could only come to the conclusion that in order for anything to happen and for him to even embark along the path towards piracy, he needed a trusty crew to back him up. Finishing up his small sketch, he pocketed the compass and map and proceeded into the small village. As he moved through the small homes and shops, he was almost certain that he was being watched, for he could see the eyes of the citizens he passed dart at him and away in slight/ quick motions every few moments. He figured it was likely that they got very few visitors on the island, and proceeded towards the town's only saloon. Making his way towards the front entrance, Bradley found his attentions diverted as he made out some wanted posters posted on the outside of the Saloon, bearing a variety of faces, and some that were familiar.

The man glared at the red headed boy in front of him, who returned in kind

stay out of this you little sod, it does not concern you

the man said, not two seconds ago he'd been flirting to one of the barmaids in the saloon, a pretty little thing with long blonde hair and then suddenly this young lad, who couldn't be much older then eighteen was getting in his way, the man had drunk a considerably large amount and wasn't in a mood to put up with any idiots who wanted to get their throat slit, he drew his dagger hoping to intimitate the boy, he got a kick in the face for his efforts, the man fell backwards landing on the table causing alcohol and food to fall all over him, the redheaded boy lifted him to his feet

Don't ever hassle this woman again you hear me, or your a deadman!

seeing the glare in the young mans eyes told the man volumes, he quickly decided to turn tail and run. Nad sighed, and turned to the young barmaid
if he comes again tell me, i'll beat him until he bleeds

The barmaid smiled nervously at him, Nad was a young man of about eighteen and was working as a chef and bartender in the saloon, currently this was his third job in as many months and he was fired for either flirting with the female customers and staff, or getting into fights with the male ones which hassled them.

NAD!, THIS IS THE SECOND FIGHT THIS WEEK, WHEN WILL YOU LEARN THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO PROTECT EVERY FEMALE IN THIS TOWN! THEY CAN LOOK OUT FOR THEMSELVES!, BUT SINCE YOU NEVER LISTEN TO ME YOU'RE FIRED!

the manager roared, he stormed towards Nad who turned to run but was grabbed by the coller of his shirt, the manager dragged the Young Redhead to the doors of the saloon and threw him out onto the street and slammed the door behind him. Nad pushed himself up,

this just won't do,

he thought to himself

now i'm out of a job and have nowhere to stay

he picked himself up and dusted away the dirt from his clothes and decided to go for a walk, the sunset was most beautiful and he had to find a place to stay the night, he walked past the bounty board on the side of the saloon and noticed a young man with spikey black hair who looked like he'd been through hell out on the sea, the man was staring intently at the bounties and so didn't notice as Nad walked by.

Another fool ready to get themselves killed by pirates

he murmered to himself, he walked off in search of a place to stay, and maybe something to eat, after all this was Kuroi the town of some of the best bounty Hunters in the archipelaego there had to be one who needed a chef or partner?. He sighed, at this rate he'd never be able to become a pirate.

It was a long trip from Conomi Island, and it was suddenly a lot warmer than the young chef wanted it to be. Gwen smirked at the thought, and threw the coat she recently bought overboard. Sometimes, being a civilian again had its perks, but that would hopefully be done with soon. She was once a pirate, and before that she was a newborn. She laughed to herself, amazed by how a small change like that determined her entire life and desires. She was always relaxed like this, and didn’t really want to change. As she looked around at the individuals getting off the ship, they were drab and plain, compared to her and her strange blend of clothes. It was the skirt and boots that she saw as setting her apart, and she had worn them out already. She was a walker, a thinker, and a relaxer. She calmly alighted, stood on a simple dock as boring as the one she stood on to get to the boat. The people coming here weren’t the tourist type either, and she spied what looked like a den den mushi on a pole overlooking the new arrivals. Maybe this isn’t a good idea, she thought. That often meant Marines, or worse: bounty hunters. But that was just paranoid. She ignored this biting fear, as she normally did. She had no need to panic, as long as she kept to herself.

How long had it been since she was last on a ship was hard to forget. All that time growing up, all that training, the sadness, the good and equally bad times through her short life so far, and her reliance on her old family. She sighed every time she looked back over the life and times of Gwen Kingsbury. She still had her knives as a memento, but they were starting to fall apart. Seems like a lot had fallen apart. The one she called 'mother' had left her nearly a decade ago, her crew was thrown apart after she left, so it said in the newspapers, and now she was in the north blue, an ocean she didn't know a lot about. She was an east blue woman, all her life, and being here felt almost alien to her. Why was she even here? Because she was bored. Her relaxed nature and her answer of 'sure, I could use a vacation!' to some shady-looking men were a bad, maybe dangerous combination. At least she didn't have to slave over a stove.

She carried on prowling, messing with the ruffles on her sleeves and singing out loud, blanking the stares of everyone around her and carrying on obnoxiously. She dodged out of the way of a rather tall man, but never looked up at him. She also noticed another man staring at bounty posters outside a bar. She stood back, observing him, and wondering what he was. Doubtfully a marine. Possibly a bounty hunter? Hell, maybe he was just some guy. She focused on his features, but knowing nothing much about men in general, she shrugged and pushed into the bar. And instantly regretted it.

Inside, it was rather dark, and the people were either drinking or making far too much noise. She detested it. In her former bar, where she worked for a decent sum, it was a friendly, jolly atmosphere, one with smiling children and good-looking men. Now she regretted being on this island, but sighed anyway. The owner mentioned something about finally firing a thorn in his side, but maybe that was good for her. She might consider a job, but first, she wanted a drink. She sat at the last free table by the window, and waited to be served. Hopefully it would be flawless.

Basil sat on the docks in his little makeshift booth that he had learned to make when he first set out on his journey. In the sun, which could have honestly used a day off, he sat there with Howard showing off his custom apparel and waiting for people to come and buy his clothing. The fashion designer sighed. At this rate he would never become famous and would live his life in the lap of despair, paranoia, depression, bad clothes and obscurity. He needed a light at the end of the tunnel. A crew that would have enough potential in becoming famous that way he could start selling his clothes.

But there was no one! That bastard King left him to fend for himself when he turned around to look for another person. It was horrible, leaving him on an island that tortured his very fashion sense. With no color and no style it was no wonder he was angered by that man. If he ever showed his face in front of him again there was be a price to pay. A hard right hook into the jaw. "And fuck him too," said Basil as a passer by caught his attention.

Basil only stared for a second before Howard came up on his shoulder and pulled his hair. There was something off about this man. The aura about him, the way he carried himself; it was all different. Different from any person he saw before. Could this man be a potential model for his clothes? Was he going to be a pirate? Who knew, but Basil did know one thing. He was going to convince the man to join him to create the perfect fashion line.

Even if it involved forcing him, which he was not opposed to. Nothing got in the way of creating his clothing and becoming famous.

So he got up, closed up shop and began to follow the poor fool towards the local saloon. The strong man was not ready for what was going to come about him in the future.

He felt a great deal more inspired after examining the pictures and bounties of the pirates on the wall, bursting with excitement at the idea of becoming an even greater pirate than them. Pulling himself away from the bounty display case as he realized that several minutes had passed, Bradley turned towards the door to the saloon. Approaching it closer, he saw as a man was tossed out of the saloon and apparently “fired”, possibly having done a poor job as a bartender. Bradley could not blame the man, for he imagined the life of the common worker to be an extraordinarily boring one, and had not desire to participate in such a profession. Figuring the man would not want the extra attention and was likely feeling embarrassed, Bradley passed him by without saying a word or giving an awkward glance, proceeding into the saloon and approaching the bar. The room was not particularly packed, with a little over a dozen customers from what Bradley could tell. Oddly however, almost every customer was seated at either his own table or seemed to be quietly staring off into the distance. There were very few women, with one seated at a table alone, and another behind the bar serving drinks. Passing by the various tables and making his way towards the bar, Bradley grabbed a stool right in front of the barmaid, slapping a couple beli on the table and asking for a glass of water.

The barmaid looked at him funny for a moment, scooping up the beli and placing a glass of murky water in front of him. The water looked like it was scooped out of a puddle in the mud, but didn't seem to have any living creatures in it and was likely somewhat drinkable. To his right, a man laughed at the young would-be pirate as he was given his beverage, drawing Bradley's attention. ” What are you laughing at old man?” The old man gulped down the rest of his whiskey before wiping his mouth with his sleeve and turning to face the young rookie. “You talk tough for a little punk. Maybe you ought to mosey down the diner down the street, pup. This here is a real bar, for real men.” As the old man's toothless grin flashed at Bradley, it was all he could do restrain from punching the rest of his teeth out. His eyes popped out of his head in typical cartoonish fashion as Bradley leaped into a standing position on his barstool, pointing down with his index finger at the old man, and rolling his sleeve up. “ You want to fight Old Man?! You're looking at Bradley Grinjoy, and you better remember that name! It's gonna have the largest bounty you have ever seen on it!” As his teeth bared at the laughing old man and he flexed his arm muscles, the rest of the locals in the bar had shifted their attentions to Bradley, looking as if they possessed a sudden interest in him. Stepping down from stool and retaking his seat, the silent barmaid casually approached him from across the counter, suddenly seeming to have a desire to talk. ” So... you aspire to be a great pirate huh? And just what is your bounty right now?” The question seemed harmless enough, but after the spectacle he had just made, the answer was sure to be quite embarrassing. ” Uhh.. don't worry about that. I'm still in the process of forming my crew!” As soon as his reply was delivered. It was as if everyone in the bar had immediately lost interest in him, returning to their drinks and their own thoughts. Even the barmaid did not give him a reply, shifting her attentions to the cleaning of glasses and returning to her work. Spinning around to face the door, Bradley finished his glass and brought it down just as a large figure walked in.

The man was wearing a large black overcoat with green pants underneath, and a faded black highwayman hat on his head. His features were dark, and he possessed an auburn fu-man-chu matched the shade of the feather on his hat. It was obvious that the man was armed, for large sheathed saber hung at his belt side. The visage appeared familiar, as if Bradley had just seen him a moment before, and the recognition suddenly clicked in his head. The man's image was on one of the bounty posters outside, listing a bounty of 15,000,000 and a title of “Red Feather” Angrid. As the large man came in and took a seat several stools down from Bradley, the room seemed to be called to attention once again, focusing on the back of his head. Silently, the barmaid poured the man a glass of mead and set it down before him, accepting to no payment in return and continuing with the cleaning of her glasses. Assuming the rest of the bar to simply be afraid of the man, the ballsy rookie quickly began to socialize. “Well well well, if it isn't the Red Feather himself...”

Nad continued his long walk around the island, he needed time to clear his head and the path he took would mean he got back to the saloon before dark, as he walked he admired how the sun moved on comepletely oblivious to everyday life, he sighed heavily, he knew he was going to have to apologise to the manager at some point if he wanted his job back, he considered how he'd got in this position in the first place, he knew that before he could become a pirate he needed a ship and crew, in order to get a ship and crew he'd need money, and important resource that he currently did not have. He continued following the dirt track around the island, he noticed that there was an unfamiliar ship near the shore, he guessed it belonged to that man he saw earlier looking at the bounty posters.

His walk took him past the marine outpost, and small structure resembling a lighthouse more then a barracks, it was painted blue and white the typical colours of the navy. Three marines were stood waiting there, the marines at the achiperlego were notorious for being very corrupt and demanded "Donations" from the populace pon a daily basis. They stopped him from continueing, he sighed, he knew this was a sign of trouble.

Where do you think you're going? eh? we've had reports about you starting fights in town, we're placing you under arrest, unless ofcourse you have something you wish to say? or something to give?

it was the middle one who spoke, he held out his hand expectantly for the usual bribe, but at the moment Nad couldn't afford to give up any money, he tried to move past them without an incident but the other two marines stopped him

Look another said just give us your watch there and we can call it quits right? no need for any violence is there?

Nad said nothing, he couldn't give up his watch, no matter what they said, but he knew they wouldn't accept anything else, and besides he had nothing else to offer, but he also did not want to get in a fight, finally he sighed, resigned to the fact that this evening was going to be more eventful then he'd wanted. He fell down on one hand his leg sailing overhead and kicked the man in the face, the leg kept on going as Nad flipped himself upright and set off running from the other two marines who'd already drawn the swords, he was just having a bad day, the chase led him all the way around the island, the other marine had gotten up and joined in the chase, Nad reached the town and dart behind the saloon where not too long ago he'd been kicked out, he heard them searching the area and saw their shadows peer around the cornor, any minute now and they'd have him cornered, he looked around for a means of escape and noticed some barrells, if he could use those to climb on to the roof then maybe he could hide form them, he pushed himself up quickly and lay down on top of the flat wooden roof holding his breath, he heard the marines talking and finally they left.

he stood up on the roof and brushed himself off, he was going to have to apologise to the Manager at some point, why not now? as he went to take a step off the roof, the wood beneath him gave way and he fell not to gracefully into the room below where an interesting scene was starting to develop

It seemed like a very long time, sat in the corner table drinking a glass of lemonade. What was Gwen even waiting for any more? She wanted to take a break, sure, but finding a new crew would be a better priority. She thought being here where there was danger was a bad idea. And then an unusually free-spirited man walked into the bar, took a quick glance around, at at her briefly, and sat at the bar. She wasn't paying much attention, only noticing he was looking at bounty posters a few minutes ago, and that he was quickly in conversation with an agitated old man next to him. It wasn't until his next action that anyone was 100% interested. He claimed he would have the biggest bounty ever. Even she was taken aback a little.

This time, there was enough stillness to get a better look at him. He was quite young, but taller than she was, and rather well-built. He had short hair, jet black and spiked up, and was wearing clothing that wasn't too extravagant. He was massively confident, too, though she thought he was a bit too cocky. And her hunch was half correct. When asked about his bounty, it turned out it was still nothing. As the others seemed to groan and return to what they were doing, he remained the same, calm and relaxed. It was then she noticed another man enter, who was villainous in every once of his being. He had a feather in his hat, but she ignored that fact. She returned to looking at the rookie, who now had a new air of strangeness about him. He and that man looked to be getting closer, and maybe it was almost time for a brawl. She didn't want to be there if 'shit went down' between two, she assumed, pirates. And then he heard him say something spectacular. He called him out by name. And then another thing unexpected occurred: a man fell through the ceiling.

This man had a different appearance. He was also strong-looking, but was maybe a little taller still, and had deep red hair. Unusually deep, she noted. He broke through the atmosphere like a brick through sheet ice, and some of the customers focused on him. This was not a good day to find yourself trapped in a bar with a throw-down likely to happen and people falling in the pub. She wondered if he was also a pirate, because he didn't look like a marine, nor a bounty hunter. She had a plan, but why was she even thinking about that? A new crew right in front of her? Maybe. She decided to remain calm and drink her lemonade, and see how the fight would play out.

The Red Feather gulped down his mead before turning to Bradley with a sour look on his face. He grunted, lowering his off hand to the handle of his saber before freezing momentarily, than returning his hand to his mug. Apparently deciding that Bradley was not worth being killed, the insult did not go unnoticed by the young rookie. Slamming his fist on the table, Bradley extended a finger and pointed at the Red Feather, addressing him with built up aggression at his greeting being scoffed, “ you know, you lack a lot of respect Old Man. I don't care-” As he began to threaten the older pirate his attention, as well as the attention of everyone else in the bar, shifted as the sound of wood creaking and snapping came from the ceiling. Creating and then falling through a large hole in the roof, a single man landed hard on the ground below as debris showered over the bar's patrons. Screaming from behind the counter, the barmaid reached under the table and pulled out a shotgun, firing a shot into the air. ” YOU STUPID NERF-HERDER! What have you done to my bar!?” Drawn towards the commotion, Bradley's head turned towards the man who had fallen, not noticing as several of the bar's patrons tossed a bag of Red Feather's head and dragged him out of the saloon quietly. As the commotion settled and the barmaid stared with a pissed off expression at the man whom had fallen through the roof, Bradley turned back to continue his conversation with Red Feather, only to notice he went missing. Intent on finding the pirate and making him join his own crew, Bradley rose to his feet and dusted the debris off himself, walking out the door.

The angry growls coming from the barmaid gave Bradley the impression that she meant to kill the man as soon as he had risen to his feet, prompting sympathy in the young rookie for the clumsy young man. ” Hey, buddy... Get to your feet and follow me. I have a feeling you are gonna be in a lot of trouble if you stay around here.” As he spoke to the man, the barmaid had already crossed around the bar and lifted her shotgun, this time aiming towards the two men and slowly approaching closer. Deciding now was a better time to leave than ever, Bradley hustled out of the bar and looked around for Red Feather, seeing no immediate sign of him. To his right, three marines seemed to be busy talking to one another somewhat further down the street, and to his left, several citizens seemed to be amassing behind a building. While his hair stood on end in the presence of the marines, creating a longing itch within him to start a fight, he decided to make the smart move and pursue towards the amassing citizens, avoiding a fight and sating his curiosity. So intent on finding out what was going on, Bradley did not look to see if the man had followed him, and did not pay attention as to whether or not there were any more gunshots.

The Red Feather struggled as he felt multiple arms restrain him and a rope tied around him. Still bagged, he could not see where the apparent bounty hunters were dragging him, and being the proud man he was, he would not call out for help. He should not have came onto the island apart from his crew and ship, for as the captain of the Red Feather pirates, notorious for plaguing the North Blue, it made perfect sense that people would attempt to capture him at any given moment. As his captors halted, they lifted Angrid onto a chair and removed his hood, tying him tightly to the seat. There were more captors than he had originally thought, and more and more people seemed to be showing up with every passing second. People whom he had seen in the street seemed to be in on the capture, with even young children laughing as they gathered around him. ' Just what kind of town is this?' He thought to himself. As a large man stood in front of him and quieted the crowd, the Red Feather made out the face of the boy who had addressed him by his nickname at the bar in the background, peering over the rest of the crowd with a confused look on his face.

Nad groaned, he had not expected to fall through the roof and suddenly become the center of attention, now there was absolutely no chance he would get his job back, as he began to rise to his feet he noticed a two men staring at him, the weather man from before and a large man he recognised as the "red feather" from a bounty poster, he put his hand to his head in pain, that's when he heard the *click" of a gun cocking he turned and saw for the first time the barmaid had pulled out a shotgun, he gulped, he saw some people grab the red feather from behind and the other man just stared at him.

YOU STUPID NERF-HERDER! What have you done to my bar!?

the barmaid screamed Nad gulped, there was no way he could talk his way out of this one
then almost like divine intervention the other man spoke

Hey, buddy... Get to your feet and follow me. I have a feeling you are gonna be in a lot of trouble if you stay around here.”

Nad nodded in gratitude and followed him keeping his head low just incase the barmaid decided that his great adventure should come to a halt right here and now, as they were both about to leave he turned to try and apologise to the Barmaid who responded to a shotgun blast inches from his head, without needing anymore persuasion Nad nearly ran out of the bar to keep up with this man, he noticed the marines were searching around for him, he kept his head low and they didn't seem to notice, he and the man appeared to be heading to the execution area where captured pirates were executed for the bounties on their heads. A grim place but right now it seemed to be a lot safer to be there then anywhere else, he looked up at the man and wondered just for a second, maybe this was it, maybe finally he was going to go to see with this man as his captain? he hoped it would, he was sick and tired of all these damn bounty hunters.

When they reached the execution zone they had the red feather tied to a chair, and a man stood just behind him wearing a the traditional mask for such affairs and holding a large sword, another man stepped forward to give some sort of speech but Nad was too busy keeping an eye out for the marines to even notice what the man was saying...

Holding his hand up flat to silence the crowd, the large man took a deep inhale before addressing the gathered people. ” Silence brothers and sisters! Before us is the notorious pirate known as the Red Feather. With a bounty of 15,000,000 beli, the Red Feather is guilty of theft against government officials, 10 counts of assault on military personnel, and 1 count of slandering the Tenryubito. It is because of this that we, the citizens of Shirou Village and 31st generation of the Hitsuji Bounty Hunters, will take his head and flag, to submit the island's marine base.” The crowd growled in agreement, their faces appearing feral and monstrous before the bound pirate captain. Yet as he scanned across his persecutors, one face in the crowd expressed a much different response. Bradley Grinjoy was taken back by the announcement the large man had made, not about the execution of a wanted pirate, but rather that the entire town seemed to be composed of Bounty Hunters. Traveling the various blues, Bradley had heard stories of Bounty Hunter organizations and the like, albeit they were rare due to the lessened individual reward. He turned to look at his new companion and assessed him, not knowing if the boy was a native or visitor, and not knowing whether or not he was in on the bounty hunting or not.

Yet now that he knew the whole village was full of Bounty Hunters, the events that took place within the saloon seemed to piece together to make sense. The bar could not care less about him until he had made his loud proclamation about being the next pirate to achieve a monstrous bounty. Only then, did the bounty hunters turn to face him and then immediately lost interest upon hearing he had no bounty. This meant as a pirate, Bradley was safe from these townpeople as long as he had no bounty, however having stated his intentions he could not doubt that he would most likely be watched and followed. With this notion in mind, Bradley pulled the guy he told to follow him from the crowd and whispered to him quietly behind the building. ” I'm Bradley Grinjoy by the way, nice to meet you. Alright it doesn't look like I have much time so I'm gonna just lay it on you straight, I'm not gonna let these people capture Red Feather. He's a bit of a revolutionary and I like that, Pirate's Code and what not, you know? I'm not going to force you into helping me, but it'd be appreciated. Otherwise, please leave me be, comprende?” Turning away from his companion, Bradley scooped a large rock off the ground and climbed on top of a nearby crate, getting a clear view and shot of the orator and the captured pirate. Cocking the rock back, he launched it flying at the orator and hit the large man square in the face, knocking him to his back.

A gasp let out from the small crowd of roughly 18 men and women, who spun on heel to face the assailant of their apparent leader. Clearing his throat, Bradley declared his intentions aloud for all to hear, “ I am Bradley Grinjoy, Captain of the Sonrisa pirate crew!” 'Though no one is in my crew...' “ You filthy bounty hunters won't take the Red Feather without a fight!” As his declaration came to an end, Bradley thrust his right fist in front of him and extended a “thumbs up”, while simultaneously delivering his somewhat signature catch-phrase, “Bueno?” All at once the crowd seemed to creep forward, each member carrying a look in his/her eyes of great anger over the assault of their leader, only to be called to attention as the large man rose to his feet once more. “Forget him my brothers! This insolent brat is no more than some wannabe pirate, he has no bounty whatsoever.” He pointed at two large men in the crowd and motioned them towards Bradley, paying little heed as returned to the matter at hand. ” You two, take care of him and whoever is with him. Bring them into the marines and you might get some nominal fee. For the rest of us, my siblings, let us move this pirate's execution to the town hall. I wish not for any more intrusions.” The crowd lifted the Red Feather and began carrying him towards a large building down the street, while the two large men the orator had pointed to stayed behind, focusing intently on Bradley and the man beside him. ( assuming Nad stayed.) They grinned as one pulled forth a short club, and the other a heavy chain, menacingly approaching their foes.

Nad grinned when he heard what Bradley had said, and replied approprietly

Zero chance of success? almost a guarantee of danger? sounds like something a great pirate would do, i'm staying!, my names Nad, and i'm a chef, and don't even think of associating me with this bunch!

ofcourse he did not expect his new captain to do what he did next, Nad watched in shocked horror as the man climbed on to a pile of crates and threw a rock, it was an impressive throw no doubt about that, only this meant there was now a reasonably large group of well trained bounty hunters who wanted to kill him, he looked back at Bradley, he knew that this moment was going to stay with him for his entire life

I am Bradley Grinjoy, Captain of the Sonrisa pirate crew! You filthy bounty hunters won't take the Red Feather without a fight!

the man then put his hand out in a thumbs up and shouted

Bueno?

Nad laughed to himself at this, he had a feeling that with his new captain, his life was going to be more interesting from here on, Nad saw the crowd take the man in the chair away and they looked to be heading to the town square, there hadn't been a public execution like that in a while if he recalled correctly, the man who was directing everything it seemed ordered two rather large men to apprehend him and his new captain, he readied himself, he could take one of these idiots down by himself, he just had to hope his captain was as strong as his convictions, then he heard the voice of one of the marines and he turned, and there stood before him were the three marines which he'd comepletely forgotton about, he cursed to himself, fighting five people would be a challenge, he hadn't trained much in the last year due to having to need a new job every month or so.

without even hesitating, he knew the best option was to get rid of the two men infront then deal with the marines, they probably wouldn't interfere thinking that he'd be brought down by the two men. He launched himself into the attack, he couldn't see what Bradley was doing, but he had not time to stop and check, he ran forward and and brought his right leg up and kicked the man in the chest, the momentum from his speed as well as Nads strength was sufficient to make the man step back, but the bounty hunter now had Nad's leg in his grasp, the man heaved and Nad was thrown to the ground, he jumped up again and crossing his arms he managed to block an incoming blow, he gritted his teeth, they didn't have time for this, but it didn't seem it'd be settled with one blow either, he inhaled again and went in for another attack, hoping that the marines would wait, because if they didn't, there seemed to be little hope for the only recently made Sonrisa Pirates

Instead of doing the right thing and running away from the bounty hunters, Gwen held onto an open bottle of rum, rummaging through the supply room for ingredients, utensils, maybe even a few vials of spices. She didn't like drinking normally, but this situation called for it. She saw the two wannabe pirates escape, and watched as the red feather was dragged through the streets. Everyone in the bar left almost instantly, leaving it unmanned. She took a sip of rum, wiping her mouth as she jumped back over the counter, keeping steady as she looked around. The whole in the roof let some sunlight from above into the empty room, and echoed the noise of a gasp. There was an exchange of dialog between Grinjoy and some villagers, and he declared with impossible certainty that he would save the pirate. So maybe he had some honor after all. Interesting. She decided there and then that she wanted to be his first mate. She wisely dropped the glass bottle, and ran out into the street, watching as new events unfolded.

The leader was down on his back, blood on his face, and now two men were drawing near, menace and anger in their eyes. One had a sturdy wooden club; the other spun a length of chains, like those you would find on shackles. From behind were three marines, and the red haired pirate who fell through the ceiling. And then the same guy launched himself at the two bounty hunters, and managed to hold his own, though just barely. He blocked a blow, and went back on the offensive. He was well-trained, yes, but his movements were sloppy, and it was evident that it had been a long time since he fought anyone. She couldn't see the other man, but assumed he would be putting a plan in place. The marines behind were going to be a major hindrance should they team up on the two. Maybe now it was her chance to shine, and possibly save them, or draw them away. It was the least she could do.

She drew a knife quickly, and walked out of the door, pushing her hair back and putting on her glasses with her free hand. She looked back briefly at the two men, and winked, looking forward again as the marines stopped just short of her. She cocked her head to one side, and shrugged.

"Hey hey hey, what's going on?" she laughed, holding her knife up in a defensive stance, "You cocky bastards, going after a pirate and then landing in this mess. Bradley, was it? I'm Gwen. You look like you two need a hand, hm?"

The future Fashion Legend saw everything unfold from the corner he was in in the saloon. It was quite a sight to see when the new comer was going to fight what seemed to clearly be a veteran in his profession. That profession being Pirating. "Lets watch what ha-" much to his disappointment the fight never happened. In fact, the veteran was grabbed and quickly carried off only to have a man fall from the ceiling. Basil just stared. He stared at the man with the smile who had all these things happen to him without even moving a muscle. He watched the man easily coerce a seemingly invincible man into joining his crew. Finally, he saw the inspiration, the model and the future he wanted in this young boy. There was no way he was going to let this opportunity get away from him. "To infamy, wouldn't you agree, Howard?" With a squeak the lemur back onto his shoulder as he gave chase.

Still wary of what exactly was going on he followed the two people and apparently a woman who had, well, he was not really sure why she was following them. And to be fair he was sure why he was either. It was a gut instinct of survival that he followed this man; to Basil it meant an amazing opportunity to get his clothing out there.

Sadly, there was opposition in his way that he had to handle. Skillfully maneuver his thread and needles through the rips and tears of the world in order to prosper. To create the elegant ball room gown, the 3 piece power suit; Basil needed to be savvy. And he needed this man. Of course, this man seemed to have a knack for starting trouble where it honestly did not even need to show up. Going off and trying to attack the town just for a man he did not even know? And was about to fight?

"Ridiculous," said the Fashionista as he walked up to the young lady and gentlemen. "The future Pirate King does not need to meddle in a little town's affairs, but for someone who will be wearing my designs in the future I guess the eccentricity is acceptable." Unsheathing his rapier he walked up to the group and looked at the two men who were left behind to fight them. "Though I honestly don't want to get my clothes dirty, your scarlet blood would make an excellent dye for my fall collection," with a strange smile rolling across his face.

The field of battle had changed practically within the instant that it had been set up. Where Bradley and the red haired man had only momentarily been facing two thuggish bounty hunters, they had now become paired against three additional marines, while simultaneously joined by two newcomers. The red haired man leaped into combat quickly, obviously possessing some amount of skill, however edged with a bit of sloppiness. For all intensive purposes however, he might have been just as effective in combat as Bradley himself. Not wanting to be the one left behind, Bradley followed suit by attacking the man with a club, sending a heavy punch towards the enemy's head, only to have the enemy duck under it and bring up his club in a horizontal strike. Lifting his off hand to catch the blow with his forearm, Bradley successfully blocked the blow with no sustained damage, his arms and legs being like hardened wood from years of training. Swinging his weight around once more, Bradley delivered his Grinning Axe kick, smashing into the enemy's ribs. The man stumbled backwards, holding his ribs with obvious pain and gingerly patting them. As Bradley prepared to follow up his attack, a woman's voice called out from behind him.

It was the same woman he had overlooked in the bar, wielding about what looked to be a carving knife in a battle position. Declaring that she intended on helping them and introducing herself, A large grin crawled along Bradley's face. “ Glad to have you Gwen, more help is always appreciated.” Looking from Gwen to the man whom he had just attacked, Bradley took a step back. The knife wielding woman possessed a certain air about her that commanded Bradley's respect, as well as one that made him feel that she was not one to tick off. Figuring the red haired man, whose name he still had not caught, could handle the bounty hunter with chains wrapped around his fists, and that Gwen could handle the clubbed man from before, Bradley stepped out to face the low-ranking marines. Slowly walking to where the group of three watched, he noticed another man out of the corner of his eye, possessing a sort of debonair aura and walking with a graceful elegance. ”Ridiculous. The future Pirate King does not need to meddle in a little town's affairs, but for someone who will be wearing my designs in the future I guess the eccentricity is acceptable."

Having no idea just what in the world the man was talking about, Bradley became on edge as the figure drew his sword and continue to approach them. Yet as he passed Bradley, realization dawned that he too was there to help. 'Pirate King huh? Hadn't thought of taking it that far before... But hey, that's a good idea...' Shrugging, Bradley gave a short reply. “ If its a thorn in the World Government's side, then its darn well objective to take. Glad to have you too, friend.” Not knowing the true skill levels of his new companions, he could at least ascertain that each bounty hunter was roughly equal, if not a little less, in strength to himself and the red haired man. In addition, the three marines that stood before him now were of Seaman rank, and thus probably not very proficient in any sort of true combat. Stationed on an island that policed themselves and willingly assisted the World Government, there was no need for the Navy to waste any of their skilled hands here. Squaring up in his Grinjutsu stance, Bradley beckoned the marines at him by openly slapping both hands against his chest. “ Dogs of the Navy, come on!”

The first of the three rushed him instantly, drawing an iron black baton as he charged wildly towards Bradley. The baton was simply held over his head, not even in a reared back or combat-ready pose, showing the true nature of the marine's heart and experience. Ducking under the half-hearted swing, Bradley rose up with a Grinning Uppercut, knocking the inexperienced Seaman out. The other two marines saw this, warily advancing closer and drawing their own batons, each obviously possessing more caution their their friend. While still unsure whom his newfound allies would choose to fight, an edging sense of surety overflowed the young rookie, feeling the bonds of nakama forging between his many unnamed companions.

The man Nad was fighting brought out a length of chains not much longer then two or three meters, he swung it creating a wide arc that nearly hit nad, who stepped back and launched himself forward again, he stepped forward with his right leg and brought his left leg up into the mans chest, the red headed kick apepared to of knocked the man back a bit but not do any real harm to his body, the bounty hunter smiled and swung the chain again, this time it caught Nad in the chest, it's weight combined with the strength of the man swinging it was enough to force nad over. Using his legs he jumped back up, he'd felt under his shirt and there were a few bruises, however no broken ribs, he sighed, it hurt but it wasn't anything serious, the man swung the chain again and Nad raised his arm to block, the chain wrapped itself around his arm, it hurt a bit and he winced, had he not been lax in his training for the past few weeks these attacks would've meant nothing.

The bounty hunters eyes went wide in surprise when he realised that the attack had not worked, he pulled out another chain and swung it, Nad pulled the chain the man was holding as well and the man fell over and the chain in his other hand never reached it's target, as the man went down Nad fell on his right hand, the one that was free and held himself like that, he then brought his left leg down on top of the man as he fell, the kick was placed on the mans head, so there was little doubt that it would put him unconscious.

The red headed chef righted himself and stood staring down at the man, he sighed and rubbed his arm, he was going to have the bruises for a day or two at the least, he was annoyed at himself for being so lax in his training, simple things like those chains shouldn't hurt his wooden skin. he looked up back at the fight, Bradley seemed to of held his own against the bounty hunter and was now engaging the marines. besides him were two more people Nad hadn't noticed arrive, a beautiful young woman, probably around the same age as him wielding two rather viscous looking knives as well as a man armed with a rapier and dressed it seemed, for some sort of fancy dress party. Nad sat on his unconscious opponent to take a quick rest and to see how good his crewmates were at fighting, this had nothing to do with the fact that the woman, in all honesty, looked rather attractive whilst fighting
