((this is what drift does.

And lame generic laser is gross. Be cool and make it a storm engine, at least makes sense of random wind fan.))

The cavern was being torn apart by the ship partially embedded into its ancient metal, a slow grind resonating around the enclosed space that overpowered the fierce chants erupting from the pirates that stayed behind to attack the Artisans.

Self preservation dictated that she did not get in their way, nor linger too long in the cave that was clearly set to collapse. To satisfy the primary instinct, Clover had moved swiftly when the shore dwelling Strawbeards had been recovering from the gust that had knocked them flat. She suspected some had even been woken by the loud engines that powered both the ship’s weapon and the motors pulling it free of the rusted structure. The screeching of metal served to disorientate a few of the lackeys, and so she had managed to follow the rails a little way from the ship and find a suitable perch to survey the scenario. It was an erratic mound of blunt edged metal, she guessed it had once been a statue as it was shaped to possess humanlike anatomy, though was several times the size of a normal man.

The shoulder proved stable enough.

Occasionally a change of perspective would grant new wisdom. The new perch was not; the same pessimistic predictions ran through the Sniper’s mind as she contemplated the difficulty of claiming the bounties of the Artisan crew if they were all turned to putty by falling metal from the cavern’s ceiling. Perhaps it would not be a problem if the bounty office took her word for it, but that would only encourage further enquiry into her story and potentially reveal her identity as a wanted pirate. Clover was still thinking up ways of getting around that issue without showing her face, even if her real appearance and identity remained unknown to the world government. They might document the person that caught the artisans, and any leads on her were bad things.

Maybe they would be butchered quickly, the Strawbeards would retreat and she could claim their heads before the whole cave fell down. That would be the best case scenario, Clover would not be required to do much but watch and then simply fetch the defeated. The Cosmos might even give her an easier exit from the cave with its super weapon; she did not fancy dragging corpses along some mineshaft that could extend for miles. The markswoman had been unconscious the entire trip in the cage so scarcely had any idea about the distance it stretched. Begrudgingly she accept that it would not be the best case scenario, though near enough that she would welcome the outcome.

The fools weren’t struggling to fend off the rabble though. For all her thinking and hopes, it seemed unlikely that they would lose that fight. A concern bubbled up on the edge of her thoughts, had she allowed them to grow to state where their capture was not so inevitable? The Sniper pinged it away without a second of consideration, they were bumbling idiots, how could she fail to beat them?

A shard of metal fell past her, its sharp point shattering on the iron rail that lead up to the exit. She could spy similar shards falling all over the cavern’s roof now, at first only a cloud of red dust had descended but the shuddering of cave was causing more substantial pieces to fall now. It took only a quick scan above her head to clear any concerns of pieces falling on her perch, she did not bother to check on the air above her ‘allies’ for similar threats, when they fought they moved around far too much. Their demise might be all the more sweeter if she did not know it was about to happen…

As the cavern’s structure became less and less sound, the Cosmos began to move it’s massive frame crushing the ground beneath her whilst breaking the rest of its surroundings. Cracks began to run along the ground spreading like multiple tree branches all over. Fran who somehow managed to collect his bearings back was busy fending off crappy henchmen failed to notice the catastrophe which was unfolding kept on busting one man to the next. He swept his massive fan on the ground and knocked out a small wave of men coming his way and followed up by launching his fist in a straight line, further taking down a few more. “There’s no end to this!” While he was able to maintain a reasonable arc around himself in which no one can enter, the goons did seem to concentrate on him more.

A huge pile of rocks slowly broke off through the cracks found in the ceiling, and as the Cosmos’ engine took a higher note, it released as powerful shockwave which blasted throughout the cavern. The wave shook the cave so hard that the walls literally broke in two, and continued to spread unto the ceilings and floor. By now, huge slabs of rocks came crashing down, squishing whoever was unlucky enough to be at the receiving end. Fran was one of those unlucky souls which had been dropped by those rocks. Fran fell on his knees then flat on his belly, he could easily feel the pressure being exerted on his back . He forcibly pushed himself up, bringing the enormous rock upwards. The artisan’s navigator then held the rock for a bit while his knees took the full brunt of the weight.

“ARGH!!!” lifting such a huge rock was no easy feat; Fran had to concentrate every ounce of his strength into his arms and legs but the show of power easily made his assailants think twice about jumping on him. The afroman then threw the giant boulder, propelling it a good few feet away from him, squishing a handful of men in the process. He then looked ferociously at the goons surrounding him who took the bait and took a step back. He retrieved his fan from the ground but as soon as he did a massive crack dissected the ground open, leaving Fran to hurriedly jump to higher ground. He used his cybernetic hand as a grappling hook to reach for a ledge up above and reeled himself in.

Once he landed, Fran heard the calls of his captain asking for a boost towards the cannon. The navigator turned around to look for his captain who was down below to his far left. Not wasting time, Fran immediately rushed to the Artisan’s captain side to help him get to the cannon, what the captain intended to do however Fran didn’t have the slightest clue off, still as a crewmember, it was at times like these which he had to show faith in his captain and just do as he was told.

As he landed, Fran offered his cybernetic arm as a platform, “Alright captain, hop on my arm and I’ll send you flying towards the cannon, I’ll use my fan to blast you in for added power..” Fran summoned all of his remaining strength and flung his captain towards the mouth of the cannon, as soon as he did however, the fragile soil beneath him suddenly broke apart. The navigator lost his balance altogether and stumbled down the crack.

The last thing Fran could hear whilst falling down was the ear-deafening blast of the enormous cannon from the Cosmos and Allen's battle cry, the last Fran would ever hear from the Artisan's captain. The entire cavern collapse as a massive surge of energy bore a giant hole into the frail rust-colored walls of Rust Pit Island. The inhabitants of the island were all shocked to witness a large ship bursting out from the side of their island and at the same time leaving it to crumble to red dust as it sailed away.

The island's governing leader tried his best to salvage the doomed island by dispatching workers around the clock, setting up support pillars and trimming and patching up what was left of the island. Marines soon followed and began their investigation, which led to two pirate groups, a strange and mysterious group called the craftsmen and a rookie pirate crew called the Artisans. There were no bodies found which belonged to the later crew in the initial reports, which led the investigators to believe that the group of rookies were somehow part of a 'failed' negotiation which led to the incident.
