Puffy grey bags hung from Finn’s eyes. After sailing away from Bijotsu just a few days ago, the captain had a lot of time to get to know his new crew better. In that time he was surprised to find out that Trevor was not just a birdman, but he was also a doctor and chef. Similiarly, he was astounded to find out that Charles was as proficient as a navigator, as he was a doctor. Nonetheless, Finn had still insisted on steering the boat himself. Not letting anyone touch the helm for a second, Finn had spent many sleepless nights steering through the harsh waves, following the map that they had obtained on the previous island.

However, the treasure still laid quite a multitude of miles away. With the current condition of their vessel, and their lack of supplies, they would never reach the treasure without death befalling on them. The boat had been damaged during the fighting back on Bijotsu, and had slowly been taking on water. Trying to make some use out of the young child, Finn had Dewey try and draw out as much water as he could with a mere tin bucket. Nonetheless, water was entering the boat faster than the kids little arms could toss it out. The captain had no choice but to take a pit stop from their voyage.

Up ahead, the red headed teen could see the island coming closer and closer. It was an island that he knew about, but never visited. Standing up from the wooden chair that Finn used to rest, he was surprised to see that his knees weren’t aching. Apparently all his injuries had just about healed themselves in the time they’ve spent on the ocean. “Wake up you lazy asses!” Finn called out to the rest of the crew. “We’ve got to make a little stop to restock and fix this piece of crap that they call a boat! We’ll be docking in less than an hour so hurry it up!” Looking off in the distance, the captain studied the islands barren landscape. “Wild Wild West… What will you have in store for me?” He lightly whispered to himself.

It could be said (quite accurately, in fact) that Trevor D. Docker was not a social person. 'Twas not that he lacked the propensity for it; oh no, he made his thoughts known whenever he desired, without much care what others thought of them. Rather, it was that he didn't have the patience for it. Thus, when the Captain had endeavored to get to know him, he'd left it simply at the facts beyond the devil fruit power that had already become known: he was a doctor and a chef alike. All in all, a person that was good with knives and a few related professions.

Thus, it was upon the mast above the crow's nest that he frequented (and how fitting, perhaps, that a raven should be perching in an area named so!). He made not a sound at such times, and consented to come down during meal times. After all, who else was going to handle such a task? That little brat that had been set to menial labor? Surely not. No, it was only Trevor himself that was suited for it.

'Twas also in his raven form that he preferred to sleep, convinced that, even perched in such a spot with the wind rushing by, it had to be more comfortable than whatever sleeping provisions this simple ship possessed. And when the captain cried out, Trevor steadily stirred from his sleep, his blurred vision slowly transforming into an island ahead. Ah, finally, something to see besides this ship, the people, and the water surrounding!

That thought in mind, he suddenly spread his wings and, with a few flaps to fight the wind, soared downward. Where the raven landed, pointedly out of view, so a man garbed fully in black with a somewhat hunched posture emerged. And of course the first thing he had to do was make his thoughts known.

"So what island is this supposed to be? Not like that miserable, burnt excuse for an island you had the grand idea of looking for people on, I hope?" Never mind that Captain Finn had indeed found people, it still just did not seem the greatest place to be looking.

Charles was unsure if they knew each other well enough to make jokes like this, "Drown you depressing bird-ossan" Charles said jealously. It was a joke with some jealously in it, Charles wanted mystical powers too. He just didn't know how to get some. Lately Charles had a change of heart about being rude. He liked it, and thought it was funny, in moderation. And yeah that's right Charles joined Finn crew. Reasons were Finn grew some balls, they had the treasure map and maybe they might all die before he did leaving the treasure all to him, Charles hoped.

It was sort of torture traveling the seas with these bunch, more so without the company of girls. So Charles was more then happy when he found out they would be making a pit stop. "Finn make a girl join!" Charles asked as if Finn owed him for not letting him steer the boat, which Charles was kinda upset about. "This is one weird crew" Charles went on to say, "will it work?" Charles waited awhile for any sort of answer before he continue to taunt "I'm not pitching in any amount of beli into this piece of crap, just steal another boat if your pirate enough."

"You dick!" shouted the small child, Dewey, from below deck. The insult was intended for the sadistic captain who had forced the tiny marksman into the demeaning labor of removing the water that was leaking into the ship. Dewey knew that he wasn’t the best to do this sort of labor and that Finn was just using this menial job as an excuse to keep Dewey busy and out of the way of Finn and his crew. However, besides the occasional verbal insult that Dewey spit out, he tried hard to keep his mouth shut. After all, he wanted to join this crew; whatever the cost.

As Dewey stood in roughly a foot of water below deck, his face winced in disgust. His once clean and neatly pressed dress pants were now wrinkly and drenched up to the knee in water. Similarly, the cuffs around his wrists were drenched in this same plaguing water. With a mighty grunt, Dewey dipped a large tin bucket into the pool of water. Once the bucket was completely full, he grasped it tightly with both arms, hugging it as if it were his long lost brother.

What is this I don’t even…” grumbled the small marksman as he ascended the stairs to the top of the deck. His body wobbled back and forth as he tried to steady the swaying water in the bucket. It was a great effort for such a small person, but eventually he reached the side of the ship and tipped the bucket over the edge, letting the water flow back into the ocean.

As the final bit of water left the bucket, Dewey saw the silhouette of an island coming into sight. “Land Ho!” he shouted excitedly, throwing both arms into the air. As his arms flew into the air, he let go of the tin bucket, thus letting it fall over the railing and into the endless ocean. “Oops.” said Dewey with a delighted grin, “I guess, I’m done with that job. Let’s hope we make it to the island before the ship sinks.

Dewey plopped his butt onto the wooden deck and reached for his pant legs. After taking a pant leg in both hands, he squeezed and twisted the soaked pant leg, causing the excess water to spill onto the deck. After that one pant leg, he continued to wring out his other soaked clothing. If his clothes weren’t going to be all nice and clean, he could deal with that; but he still wanted to be dry. “Well alright then. What do you landlubbers plan to do when we reach shore?” asked the curious child.

“Stop filling the bucket up with your tears and then maybe we’ll talk about changing your job” The captain yelled down to his young stowaway. Finns hands raced; hand over hand, spinning the small vessels wheel. The bow of the ship began to perform a steady turn until it pointed towards the islands dock. After only a few more minutes of riding the waves to the island, Finn successful docked the ship into one of the docks small openings. Feet gliding swiftly across the water soaked deck, the red headed captain raced towards the ships metal anchor. Waltzing up next to Dewey, who happened to be dumping out a large pale of water, Finn took a tight grip of the rusty hunk of iron, and threw it over the ships railing. “That should keep the ship here for awhile. Well that is as long as it doesn’t sink.” Finn quietly muttered under his breath.

“I second that motion.” Finn then announced, referring to what Charles said to Trevor. “Anyway, we need supplies and it was the closest island. So shut your beak!” The red headed captain knew that he didn’t have the crews respect yet, but that was something he was hoping to change on this new island. However, at the same time Finn knew it would be hard to gain any sort of control over Trevor. The man was mysterious and hell bent on making money. There was no way he could connect to the short worded man. His only chance of gaining his allegiance was proving that piracy brought the riches that Trevor dreamed about. Charles was different though. He was someone Finn was trusting more and more with being granted the title of first mate.

Relieved to finally touch land again, Finn quickly took his first steps onto the dock. “Trust me Charles, you’re not the only one who wants some boobs on this boat. However, not dieing of starvation is my first priority.” Finn said as he grabbed a large burlap sack that hung from the side of the ship. With any luck, by the time they left the island, that sack would be chock full of supplies. Then something that Charles said, struck Finn like a cord. He was asking the captain whether he was pirate enough to steal another ship. Finn’s ego just couldn’t rest. “You know I am!” Finn shouted. Now pumped up, Finn turned and headed to town. He didn’t even bother to respond to the kid. Honestly, Dewey’s “pirate talk” was beginning to give the egotistical teen a bad headache.

Ah, and wasn't this a...fun crew. A Captain who liked to try and place himself as some sort of authority, a man who was just asking to have his next meal poisoned, and a little brat that seemed to like to feel important. How in the world had he ended up with these people? Oh, that's right...he'd saved one of them once or twice and now they owed him.

"Keep talking like that all you want, but don't forget that I'm the man that prepares your food," Trevor retorted, open as ever on what was going on within his mind. Muttering to himself, he strode along to the front of the ship, not too close lest he take any risk of falling off. Unlike the others, there was the unfortunate fact that, while he could fly, he couldn't swim. He didn't need them getting any ideas, though if they already had them, there was really no helping that. After all, he was indeed the man that prepared their food...they needed him, and that was the hold he had.

What was with this island ahead of them, though? Some kind of desert? No...maybe not completely. There were shadows dotting it as they came closer, shaped much like buildings. A dock, too. Not that there was any guarantee this ship would last long enough before sinking for that fact to really matter. Whether or not there were any other ships, it seemed to him there was hell to raise. It was boring just drifting along at the sea like this, he needed to do something.

"Alright, we should be close enough for me. Time for me to check out whatever's here, and don't any of you look while I change!" he demanded, long strides taking his hunched body off to a place relatively out of the current direct view of the rest; more specifically, the best spot by the mast that he could find. And in his case, 'change' did not refer to close, but rather his form as he crouched down low as he could get, limbs and body shifting and yet the black appearance remaining perfectly. A few beats of his new wings took the normal-looking raven up to the sky, further until he sailed beyond the ship in pursuit of that settlement of some sort on the island not far ahead.

Dewey excitedly hopped down the gangplank and towards the dock. “Land! Precious land!” he excitedly said while bending over and kissing the dirt covered ground. With an immature grin and wink of his eye, he pointed towards the crew. “Well I guess you held your end of the deal and brought me to your next destination.” He picked dusted off his sleeves and rolled the leggings of his pants back down. “I guess it’s time to take my leave and find my own pirate crew.

His mood suddenly changed and he let his lower lip hang outwards, quivering slightly. “Unless of course…you want me to stick around?” he said while giving puppy dog eyes to the crew. He waited for a response, but it was pretty obvious that the crew either didn’t want him or was simply just not paying attention to the tiny marksman. “Fine, I see how it is.” He tucked back in his lower lip and dipped his eyebrows inward in an awful looking scowl. He knew that he probably wasn’t the ideal member they wanted for their crew, but after all they have been through; it felt like betrayal. “Goodbye you unfriendly sea dogs!” he shouted angrily at them.

With his bag slung over his shoulder, he slowly walked away from the crew and into town. His pace was set rather slowly, but he did that just in case the crew had a change of heart and for whatever reason wanted him to stay around. If he wasn’t able to stick around then perhaps we would seriously look into finding a new crew on this dreaded island. Maybe he could even find a way to win over Finn and company’s favor. The only question was how. He thought he had already done a good enough job at that on the previous island, but maybe these guys were more bitter than they looked.

My Apologies

“No one wants you to stick around.” Finn said cruely to the young boy as he began to walk down the harbor. Looking ahead at the town, he had a feeling Trevor wasn’t going to be happy. The place was a barren landscape and just like back on Bijotsu, it probably wasn’t too full of excitement. “Everyone, try and find your way to amuse yourself for the time being!” He yelled back to the crew, knowing that their chances were slim

As Finn took his first steps off the dock, onto the island, tumbleweed rolled by along with a dust filled breeze. “Well that’s a good sign…” Finn muttered to himself. Dust layered his normally polished boots and brought more and more frustration to the conceited captain. Nevertheless, Finn continued to stride through the town, examining its inhabitants. Or lack thereof because the few lives he was able to see were either horses, or dusty old men with long mustaches. Confused by the islands barren, dusty and aged town, Finn strode over to a small round table where two of the men sat playing cards. Now up close, the captain realized that the men were not in fact old, but just maintained a rugged exterior.

“Excuse me gentleman, either of you know where I can buy some supplies in this place?” Finn questioned the two of them. Finn was offended to see one of the mean merely give him an evil glance. Meanwhile, the other one began to speak. “You might as well just get out of her boy. Outsiders aren’t welcomed round these parts.” He grunted. Finn sighed once he had heard the response. After that long ride to the island, he wasn’t in the mood to deal with two stubborn men. “Listen guys, I’m not in the mo-“ Suddenly Finn stopped talking mid sentence as he watched the man who had just spoken, slowly raise a gun from its holster and place it on the table. He was beginning to realize that there just might be a little more excitement taking place on this dust ball, than he first thought.

Already had Trevor left before the current...conversation, insofar as it could be called that, started, and thus he missed it in its entirety. Instead, he was being treated to a birds-eye view of...sand, sand, and more sand. And buildings dotted around, and a few people. And some guns being carried openly. And crows and other scavenger birds flying about here and there besides himself. And sand.

This place was already seeming more depressing than that burnt excuse for an island called Bijotsu. What was this miserable pile of dust, anyway? That was the real question. And indeed, as was being expected beyond his knowledge, the raven-shifter was not, in fact, happy.

And...where was that brat going on his own? Didn't he see...wait, why was he caring? The kid was seeming a miserable, depressing little brat. Then again, it had well since occurred to Trevor that he himself was a miserable, depressing old man. Certain...similarities there, perhaps? With a mental shrug (as his current physiology didn't quite support the action, and he didn't wish to risk his own flight), the raven came down from the sky and to a place out of view of others, primarily for his certain degree of narcissism. Moments later, out came the hunched, black-clad figure of the 'Mad Dock.'

"Where're you going all by yourself, brat?" It suddenly occurred to Trevor that he had missed the names of...everyone else thus far during this journey. But then, he hadn't the inclination to care. "Yes, yes, you're gonna complain that you can take care of yourself, right? Fine, whatever, but might want to do something about them first. And I'm coming along like it or not. Better than hanging around those two right now as they get themselves into more trouble," he simply stated, pointing behind him as he matched stride with the boy to the two that had begun following, presumably thinking the young boy an easy mark.

"I always wanted a slave" Charles responded to the young boy rude comment. "Don't need to tell me how to spend my time capt." Charles said to Finn as he walked away from Charles. Charles dropped down on his butt and just sat there watching Finn mingle with some town folk. Charles was happy when he saw one man pulled out a gun. "I might be getting my map earlier then i thought" Charles said turning his attention to the other doctor.

Charles is the type of guy who thinks everyone is good deep down inside and that they have a good reason for their action. So it was no surprise to him when he saw Trevor try to make friends with the abandon young boy. Charles temporally left the scene to check out a bar. Charles said "Rich kid with his old man outside" to anyone that would lend him his ear. Two men walked out of the bar. The men made haste to catch up to the boy and Trevor.

"I didn't really get to see how the boy and Trevor fight being stuck on the side of the boat last time" Charles said to himself trying to justify his actions. Charles climbed the bar stairs till he reached the roof door. There on the roof, Charles could get a better look at how his fellow crew mates handle the situation their in.

Charles decided as he stretched his muscles that he will start a bar fight later for his daily training, which he didn't get to do on the boat ride to here. "I must get stronger!" Charles told himself.

Dewey walked angrily away as he was quickly dismissed by Finn. His plan obviously didn’t go the way he expected it to, but now he could at least move on with his life. “You’ll regret this.” warned Dewey. He only turned his head just enough for Finn to see the side of his face. After a quick straightening of his tie, he brought his head forward and continued his stride away from the mess they called a crew.

Only several moments later was he stopped by the creepy old bird man. “Thanks, but I don’t need your help, I can take….” Before he could finish, the birdman interrupted him. “How the heck did he know I was going to say that?” wondered Dewey to himself. No matter how mysterious Dewey thought he was, the fact was that he was actually quite a predictable little kid. He was only living a fantasy in his head; thinking he was some sort of mysterious well-accomplished pirate.

Dewey.” said the tiny marksman after the old man addressed him as a brat. “My name is Dewey. What’s yours, old fart?” Dewey placed his hands in the pockets of his black pants and waited for the man to answer his question. Only once the man replied or continued walking would Dewey follow. “For the record, I may be a brat, but I’m not dumb.” he said in a rather irritated voice. He lifted his right arm and pointed his index finger out to Finn and Charles.

Those guys are the dumb ones. Ten seconds on the island and they have already gotten into trouble. Not to mention that they probably haven’t even thought about finding a new ship. That hunk of junk we sailed in on is probably half underwater by now.” He then motioned his pointed finger and pointed it up at the old fart’s face. “They obviously don’t want me in their crew, that’s why I’m going to find a new ship and bring it to them. That way they will have no choice but to let me join.” He gave a small wink to the man as he revealed his plan. “So you wanna help me?

“Woah ho ho, I’m not looking for any trouble.” Finn said referring to the gun that the man set on the table. Then raising his bat from the ground hand, the captain placed the tip of the bat ontop of the barreled weapon. “And I am sure you aren’t either” He added cockily. The rugged man put his cards down, flicked his hat up, and looked at Finn with one eyebrow raised. “You realize you’re threatening a gunned man with a piece of wood… That’s like bringing a chihuahua to a dog fight.” The man said condescendingly.

A blank face suddenly sprouted from Finn. He had no idea how to respond. “Well uhm-“ he began to respond, but the man interrupted him before he could finish. “I’ve heard of bringing a knife to a gunfight, but you just set it down to a whole new level, didn’t ya son?” The man mocked. “Okay I get it! It was a dumb idea, let just forget I did that.” The conceited teen said as he pulled his bat away from the table. “Ha, whatever kid. Just get outta here.” The man said as he refocused his attention back on the card game. Now Finn was beginning to become mad. Not only was he being talked down to, but the man wasn’t helping him out at all. Finn hadn’t even realized that his voice had steadily rose to a shout. “Even if I wanted to leave, my boats probably under the dock as we speak!”

Suddenly, the man stopped moving all together as if he was in shock. “You need a boat you say?” He said in hush town. “Here, this might help you out.” He said as he slid a piece of paper off the table and held it Finns way. With much aggression, Finn snatched the paper from the man’s grasp. His eyes began to scan the paper quickly, reading every word and noting its importance. “Let me see here.” The captain said as he began to read the paper allowed. “Attention one and all, One Armed Willy will be holding a marksman competition at dusk Friday. It shall take place outside of the Shady Acres Saloon. Anyone with an approved patch may compete and they may use their weapon of choice.” Finn looked back up. “How does this help me out?” he questioned. “Look at the bottom dumbass” The man retorted, not taking his eyes off his cards. Finn looked back down and indeed there was something else written. “The grand prize winner shall receive a sea vessel, made for a true cowboy.” The captains eyes began to dazzle in excitement. “Th-thank you sir” Finn said as he turned around and raced towards the docks. The man merely grunted and watched the teen run off. “He has no idea what he’s in for…”

Old fart now, was it? So Trevor still didn't know what 'ossan' was supposed to be, and it thus offended him, but 'old fart' he could agree with to a point. If nothing else, it didn't bother him, at least. "The name's Trevor," he replied quite simply; really, there was nothing more to say on the point of introductions. Somewhat narcissistic though he was, he hadn't done all that much to really earn himself a name...yet.

And, as was relatively rare, the boy's words, while they lasted for more than three sentences, held enough to keep the impatient man's attention. They spoke of larceny, they spoke of profits to be made, they spoke of those other two owing him even more than they already did. A little smirk played across his features at the thought. Yes indeed, he and this brat were not quite so dissimilar, particularly in their goals and pursuits.

"Show those two idiots up and make them owe the both of us even more? Hah...that'd sure be one way to make this miserable dust heap worth anything," Trevor wholeheartedly agreed, his eyes wandering the streets for anything that might be of use, meanwhile wondering why the two gun-toting idiots behind them hadn't done anything yet. Ah...some sort of flyer only just dangling off a post nearby. Maybe that had something of use. First, though, to take care of things.

"Maybe one of these two folks following us probably with some sort of stupid idea in mind can help out with that. Bet you anything they're too stupid to take a corner cautiously," he smirked, casually as ever turning a corner to a little path between two buildings nearby. "Try keeping at least one of them alive, would you?"

Charles was watching Finn from the rooftop hoping the man he was talking to is going to use his gun. "This man is a punk" Charles said watching the man give Finn some paper instead of lead. "Aw Capt Finn managed to get away with his life" Charles cried to himself "Lets go see what the lucky bastard found now". Charles located a gutter and slid down it to quickly get to the ground safely. Charles chased Finn all the way back to the docks. Charles just stood there with his hands crossed over his chest. Till Finn noticed him he just stared at him, then he stared at the paper in Finn hand. Charles was waiting for an explaination.

Now Charles had no idea if Finn had said something or if he didn't. Charles mind went back to the kid and trevor who were being followed by two men. "Did you say something?" asked Charles after he was finish with his train of thought. "Forget I asked, um did you get to see our other crew mates in action? If not follow me they're about to get into a fight!" Charles said excitedly. Charles ran to the spot where he last saw trevor and the kid, there they were between two buildings and the fight looked as if it had already started.

Dewey quickly followed the old man behind the building. He wasn’t that dumb to not understand that they were about to jump the two men who seemed to be following them. As Dewey entered the alley, he put his back up against the side of one of the building; that way he wasn’t easily spotted until the 2 men completely turned the corner. As he braced for the fight that was about to ensue, he removed an iron dagger from his side and held it tightly in his right hand.

It’s only a matter of time…” Dewey said quietly to Trevor. It seemed as soon as he said that, the two men from earlier rounded the corner. With an open palm, Dewey quickly reached out; grabbed one of the cowboys’ buttoned leather vests, and yanked him into the alley. Once in the alley, Dewey slipped his leg in front of the man’s feet, and pushed his body violently forward. The result of this action caused the cowboy to trip over Dewey’s leg and fall flat on his face.

Dewey quickly jumped on top of the man’s body in order to hold him down. With his left hand, he reached under the cowboy’s ten gallon hat and grabbed a tuft of hair in his hands. With no remorse, he pulled on the man’s hair to lift his head off of the ground and expose his neck. With the iron dagger in his right hand, he held it firmly against the cowboy’s neck. “Got this one, matey” he spoke to Trevor. He barely took his eyes off of his own target to see what Trevor had done with the other man, but frankly he could care less.
