I think he meant more of an unofficial boost. You can't buff and attack at the same time unless you get one of the prof traits for it. | ||||||||||||

An unofficial buff that does not buff? Why wouldn't I be able to boost my next attack if I just grabbed some of "my opponent's" strength/momentum so that I can hit them harder? For the damage reduction/throwback. If my strength combined with the strength boost is higher than the power of the attack, I can send it back with 100% of it's power. If my strength combined with the temporary strength boost is not higher than their power, it would simply reduce the damage to that of the remainder of the opponent's strength. Opponent's strength=20 My strength=8 Technique Rank=4 Opponent punches, I use the technique, damage taken is that of a punch with 8 strength. Edited by Pernix, Jul 8 2011, 03:07 PM.

This is getting too technical for me. If I were you I would make the technique less numbersy and just use stat comparisons to see if it would work during an RP. Ask Yak. | ||||||||||||

It's not just the technique. The entire style needs to be worked into the forum standards. I'm fine with the boost being a flat rate of 1 per rank & that is great for covering the whole "use the opponent's strength against them" deal.. but the throwback and damage reduction also need love. The direct throwback could start at rank 20. The damage reduction rank 10? Edited by Pernix, Jul 8 2011, 03:31 PM.

In all seriousness this is a bit too complex to be asking like this, best is that you pm a mod or even yak about it. I personally somehow see a godmod potential in this and think I'm going very wrong here. In the fear of giving useless and stupid advice, it is best if you went to someone with more insight on these techniques since quite frankly, I think you can freeform most of the stuff you want anyway. |

Star Nosed Mole zoan is today's topic for a blind character known as Coolio Jones. What is the star nosed mole? It is a mole with 22 small tentacle things in the shape of a "star" on it's nose. These tentacle things are super sensitive and allow the mole to hunt prey 14 times faster than most moles. Too often do I see blind characters that rely only on hearing so I decided to think of another way! So basically this zoan would have to give him the burrowing power as well as the ability to detect things within a certain distance (increased by technique). Honestly I feel that Coolio Jones could "see" everything and anything within that distance even if it is invisible or hidden behind some wall. He would theoretically know all movements within that area, even those behind him. Of course the mole zoan would give him an accuracy boost. Plz give any helpful input on how to make this zoan acceptable. |

well theoretically king cobra venom could be very lethal very quickly. When it comes to animals with special abilities you simply downplay how powerful their natural abilities are then advance them through ranking up. | ||||||||||||

Should there be a cap on the amount of sd you can gain for stats and fortune? As a new member I do not see anything to work towards or any sign of older members slowing down any time soon. They are strong already & there is no stopping their progress. Should the sum of all your stats cap at 800? Why 800.. because 800 is a number that everyone should be happy with right now. I don't think there is a single person that would have a problem with 800 being the max sum for all your stats. Even the most balanced character would have 160 in all of their stats while one of the fastest characters could have 600 speed! Why does any of this really matter to me? I just want something to work for. 800 is a number that can cause everyone to think a little bit more about what they want their character to do. It gives a lot of room for the forum's strongest characters while still restricting them. As we all know with restriction comes imagination(?) and the cap can always be raised when a large amount of members get to that point.. What's the fun of having two or three unstoppable members on a forum? |

Capping sd sounds like a very bad idea to me, it basically says "Hey you can quit now since you'll never grow after this point.", which is what most everyone rps for. Now I know for a fact you stop gaining general traits at 350 sd earned and proffesional traits at 400 sd earned. But yeah capping sd I don't support at all since if anyone ever did reach that point in the future they would almost surely quit, even getting close to that point would trigger people wanting to quit since there'd be no point in rping after that. | ||||||||||||

It's a suggestion lol. Dark I completely understand what you are saying. As a new member I also need to have the feeling that my character is growing stronger and stronger at a steady rate. But I know that if I had the strongest character on this forum.. yes it would be fun to be untouchable for a while but after some time it would be boring not having anyone to compete with. There is a sense of danger and pride that come with having actual competition. But I cannot speak for everyone on the forum. | ||||||||||||

You'd still have no one to compete with anyway, cause there is little to no interaction between crews/players anyway. Like whoever said, each sl is like it's own separate world. So it doesn't matter, you could just make NPCs stronger than you still. | ||||||||||||
