Kei was still rubbing his head and bent over almost in half, due to the ceiling's height, as he followed Yuri down to the bilge as she explained her escape plan. Either the smoke had gotten to her brain or she must have hit her head like him only harder, cause her plan lacked the usual 'kick' like her other plans did. If fact it sounded like she did not think the plan through at all. Hell, it sounded like a plan Henrik would come up with. Probably that pervert had rubbed off on her during the time they spent together. As soon as they reached the wall of the bilge that led to the sea, Kei was assaulted by the horrid smell that seemed to be everywhere while Yuri assaulted the wall with an iron pipe. Kei frowned as Yuri continued to explain her plan of bashing open a big enough hole so that they could escape. The biggest problem he could see was that once the hole got big enough, the pressure from the water coming into the bilge would be too much to get out and they would have to wait till the entire bilge was filled up with water to lessen the pressure. But since they were in a hurry, Kei really did not know if the bilge would flood in time for them to escape. Kei's contemplation about the plan were interrupted by a sound of rapidly approaching footsteps and Yuri's exclamation. Turning around as best he could to face the four men that entered the room. "Are you ok, Miss Yuri?" Kei asked calmly, trying not to aggravate the situation, glancing quickly at his net-bound captain, before returning his gaze to the four men, two of which held the interesting net launchers while the other two, just plain guns. "Why are you doing this?" Kei asked, raising his hands in an nonthreatening manner, not really wanting to be shot. "Ah shut up you freak!" on of the men with a net gun sneered and fired off a couple of shots at Kei's direction. While Kei wasn't caught too unawares, his current position made it very difficult to do any dodging. Barely dodging the first net, Kei was hit by the next couple of them, all the them wrapping around Kei and dropping him to the floor. "Hehehe, serves you right freak." the same net man said, coming over to Kei and kicking him in the stomach. |

It wasn't long before Kei was down on the ground next to her, pretty much in the same situation. It was interesting how he had to actually be shot down with several nets due to his large size, but once again this wasn't the time or situation for making jokes. She began to curse to herself again and continued to squrim and struggle inside the iron net. She knew it would do nothing and she would only be wasting her energy, but the pirate just couldn't help it. This situation was practically the same as the one that she had been in with the crew back on Torino Island. It was like the heavens themselves were out to get her and had practically recycled the same old idea to put her in this identical predicament. It was just so frustrating, and twice more frustrating for someone with as much pride as Yuri. Once who had been raised practically her entire life by the hardships of life and had learned that the worst thing one could do was to give up on themselves and not continue fighting. She could make thousands of excuses, blame thousands of people, and say thousands of explicit terms that came to mind to describe this situation, but none of that would help. It was her own poor decision as captain that led to the crew being captured once again and could very well lead to their demise at the whim of their captors. Sometimes the truth was hard to swallow, and this was one of those cases for the Osulan assassin. Her eyes fell on the fishman at her side. Damn it, why did he have to be such a gentleman all the time! He had just been captured and could possibly be dying within the next few moments, but he was worried about her well being. It was something she just wasn't quite used to, especially coming from another assassin considering all of the assassins she had worked with in the past were assholes who only cared about the money coming in at the end of their job. Still, as unfamiliar as the consideration was, she found herself responding in kind. "Yeah I'm fine. Don't worry about me though, just try and get us out of this." She said just as the man found his way over and kicked the fishman in the gut. Her anger reaching another level as they were literally kicking them while they were down. The four guys in front of them weren't men, they were just fucking cowards who talked big shit when their opponents couldn't do anything to retaliate. Her violet eyes moved upward to look into the eyes of the men that had captured them, but she saw nothing but the blackness of their gas masks. What her eye couldn't relay back to her was delivered soon, by her ears however. It was a sound that only further fueled the inferno that was the pirate's rage. It was the sound of the individuals laughing. They were actually standing there laughing at her vain efforts to break free from the iron restraint keeping her pinned to the damp floor of the trap ship she had been attempting to steal just a few minutes ago. She began to push harder, begging each and every muscle in her body to do something to turn the tables, but it was still just wasted effort and energy. At last she simply gave in and decided to except her fate. Once of the men held a gun a trained on her position, she figured he was ready to shoot at any moment. It was hard to gauge an enemy's emotions or what they were thinking when you couldn't see their face, but even as she settled down, his gun didn't change positions. "Well then come on. Fucking shoot me already if you're gonna shoot me! Or maybe you're just afraid. This your first time holding a gun junior? You gonna piss your pants and cry to mama? How about you just let one of the big boys standing next to you hold the gun. Maybe one of them will actually know what they're doi-" She couldn't even finish the rest of the statement before taking a blow to the face by the butt of his rifle. It had caught her off guard, but it wasn't like that mattered. Even if she could perceive it in time to dodge she wouldn't be doing much movement in the net imprisonment. The assassin spit a bit o blood to the side and smiled. "You hit like a bitch." The man was prepared to strike once more, but was stopped by one of his colleagues. Instead, they lifted the two of them out and began to exit the ship. One of the four carried Yuri over his shoulders, while two had to drag Kei and the remaining captor held his gun at the ready in case one of them tried something. Once they were off the ship she could see the other two pirates that were on the ship before being hoisted into a horse drawn carriage of sorts. the same they were now being thrown into and locked inside as they began moving in the direction of what seemed to be a town. Yuri looked at the other three while wiping a bit of blood from her face on to her sleeve. The only good thing she could think of in this situation was the fact that they were still alive, even though they were probably going to be turned into the marines or something. She looked to the fishman, her first mate, and the man she had dragged down with her mistakes. Knowing that the men could likely hear her from outside the carriage due to the opening in the side of the wood for surveillance purposes, she whispered as quietly as possible. "Kei, I don't know where we're headed., but you don't need to be involved. You don't have a bounty like I do. Just tell them that and you should be good to go. Hell, tell them I brought you off a slave market or something. And don't give me that gentleman bullshit about not abandoning a woman or something. I can handle myself if worst comes to worst." |

A groan escaped the fishman as the kick connected solidly with his gut. He was not a stranger to pain given his profession, usually receiving more that his fair share of hits when the job did not go as planned, which happened a lot given his size, but you had to have all the pain receptors gone from your stomach and the surrounding area not to feel anything from the hit in the gut. Granted he could have probably have held the groan in, but he became quite disoriented from being hit by the nets and could not refocus his attention by the time the kick connected. Though due to his size, the kick wasn't as painful or debilitating as it would be if he was normal sized. It didn't take long for him to retake control of his senses, the first thing he heard was the men's laughter, the fact making his blood boil, and if it wasn't for the normal gun-wielding hunters, he would have long disposed of the two net wielding imbeciles. Kei startled when Yuri began to taunt the normal gun-wielding man which promptly earned her a blow to the face. This time, Kei couldn't contain his anger at the sight of a woman being hit, and lunged forward from his lying position. Although he didn't get far when the second rifle wielding man brought the butt of the rifle down onto the back on the fishman's head, a multitude of stars appearing before the latter's face and dropping him on the ground. "Now, now, don't try to act like a hero." the man tut-tutted as he stepped onto Kei's back near his head with one foot, bringing the front of the rifle barrel to nestle at the base of the fishman's head. Another groan escaped Kei's lips as the stars finally disappeared and he felt the cold metal of the rifle and stiffened, not really wanting to push the man to pull the trigger. "Alright, lets go." the man behind Kei motioned for one of the men to sling Yuri across his shoulder and the remaining two to lift Kei by his arms and to drag him to the stairs. Kei smiled slightly as the two men struggled to drag him along, up the stairs and onto the deck, making their progress painfully slow. Though the smile was wiped instantly when he felt the barrel once more at the back of his head. Reaching the deck, Kei spared a glance at the two pirates who were thrown into a carriage, the fishman and Yuri following suit not long after. As always, the accommodations were not suited for his size, leaving him to bend over several times so as to fit even remotely comfortable in the carriage and leave enough space for the others. As the carriage started moving, he heard Yuri talking to him and listed as she explained to him what to do once they reached their destination. "With all due respect, Miss Yuri, while I definitively can't leave a women behind, I most certainly can't leave my captain and friend behind no matter what." Kei replied. "I've already made up my mind, Miss Yuri, so please don't try to convince me otherwise." the fishman added in an attempt to stop her from arguing. While it was probably true that she didn't need his help to escape, Kei could not leave her, afraid that he might lose her and a chance to be a crew that was not afraid of him or disgusted by his appearance. |

The violet eyed assassin let out a heavy sigh before grinning in the fishman's direction. She figured he'd say something like that. It would just be so out of his character to abandon her just because she had said so. It was something that she had learned through several experiences along the way here and though she thought herself to be a very independent person, often having few to no one else to rely on but herself on Osula and even back in her hometown of Aokuchi; she actually found the fishman's behavior amusing. "You know, that gentleman crap gets on my nerves." She commented in a hushed tone. It was still an annoyance from time to time, even in this situation they had currently been thrown in, but that just went to show what a good choice she had made in choosing a first mate. Definitely better than the boneheaded pervert from before, but that wasn't exactly saying much. She squirmed in her seat, but it was no use. The nets were still tightly coiled around her form and there was no way she'd be snapping the rough iron coils with her physical strength. There was also the fact that the men that captured them were sitting just outside the carriage and were still armed to the teeth. The last thing she needed was to draw too much attention to their actions inside and get shot or something. Sure, the assassin talked big shit not too long ago when they were on the ship when she believed they were aiming to kill them, but things had changed. The fact that they were still alive made it obvious that they had little to no intention of ending them. They likely wanted to get the full amount of beli instead of the reduced amount for the bounty on her head. Still, she wouldn't put it past them to kill the if things got too out of control. Inching along her seat, she forcefully jerked her body towards one of the window like opening of the carriage. In terms of scenery it was the best one could hope for, but Yuri wasn't here to take in the landscape. She needed to get some sense of direction and figure out where the hell they were in relation to that decoy ship. It would also be good to take some mental notes of the island and its landforms when they plotted their escape. She didn't need to be caught off guard by some crazy shit like giant birds and cavemen again. From what was visible she could see that area seemed pretty wild for the most part, a lot of the area left in its natural state with the exception of the bridges that connected each separate island of the archipelago. Hell, they had already gotten an entire island away from the one where they started from. Still, even these areas seemed to have quite a bit of activity from people. As the carriage went on she could see the faces of the people who were obviously disgusted by them. They likely knew the meaning of this carriage and thus that everyone trapped inside was a wanted pirate for horrible deeds or atrocities of some sort against the World Government. One man even had the gall to attempt to spit at the assassin. Of course, she wasn't going to let that shit fly and dodged the shot of saliva. It wouldn't quite be Kuroyuri Hankou if she didn't take it a bit further than that though. "Hey jackass! How about you come over here and do that shit when I'm not locked up in a cart!" She would've kept going if not for the gun pointing at the back of her head by one of the captors. Before sticking her head back in she did take site of the town approaching though. It seemed they would be arriving soon to wherever the men were taking them. Looking to the fishman again, a light bulb went off in her head. It wasn't the brightest of ideas, and she doubted it would work, but hell it was worth a try. She didn't get to be a hired assassin on Osula by sitting on her and not taking chances when necessary. "Kei. I know these things are made of iron or some shit, but do you think you can cut them with your spikes?" She whispered in his direction. The other two pirates from the ship seemed to be nodding their head in agreement which only made her angrier. One of them was crying and by the looks of his pants and the smell of the carriage it seemed that the other one had pissed himself. If not for the fact that her hands were bound, the pirate would have seriously face palmed at a time like this. Hell, this was worth a x2 facepalm combo. Seriously, how pitiful were pirates nowadays that they couldn't control their bladders in situations as these? It really made her worry for the future of this Third Pirate Era. Turning away from the poor excuses of criminals however she focused on other escape plans. They could probably prove as useful human shields if Kei managed to break them out. She had thrown the guy's gun overboard earlier and it appeared that he was as useless as a pile of shit without it. "Or how about using some of that amazing fishman strength you guys apparently have. Those human hating assholes usually boast about being the superior race and shit." She shot another suggestion his was while trying to free up her hands again. It took a moment but she eventually stopped and rethought over what she had said last. "No offense to you and anyone you're related to of course. Just those discriminating idiots." Wow, that really didn't go the way she had planned. |

Kei smiled at Yuri's opinion about his apparent personality flaw. While it wasn't the nicest thing he had ever heard in his life, he certainly did appreciate the honesty, something that was rare in the world of assassins. What if she wasn't telling the truth just like the other assassins, but what would she gain from telling him that she found his niceness annoying. The only reason might be that she was trying to alienate herself from him so that he'll go through with her plan and tell the hunters that he wasn't associated with her. Then again, he liked to think that she had some sort of honor and would not pursue a finished argument. Deciding that there was no hidden agenda behind her words and that it was just plain old honesty, the fishman settled against the wall to watch the world outside the window on the opposite wall. Under different circumstances that did not involve him being captured and stuffed into a space that was designed by someone who did not take someone his size into account, the area he was in was actually quite nice. Unlike the other island he's been to that had even an inkling of a civilization, the island, or more appropriately, islands, were for the most part left in their natural, wild, condition. The only signs of civilization thus far were bridges that connected the several island in the archipelago and an occasional hamlet or two that hugged the road. And these hamlets certainly bustled with activity that was quite surprising for settlements that size. Unfortunately, this activity was rather unwelcome to the occupants of the carriage for it seemed like the entire population of those hamlets came out to heckle and curse the occupants. The fishman bristled as one particular man in one of such hamlets spit at Yuri, the latter reacting accordingly, though in a somewhat subdued manner. Once he escape the hunters' clutches, he would definitely come back and exact vengeance upon the man. As the carriage rolled merrily along, it appeared that they were nearing a town of some sorts, at the very least, it was bigger than the hamlets. Hearing Yuri's question, Kei regarded his chains intently, sparing a single glance at the other two pirates, who were a rather sad sight with all their pissing in their pants and their crying. He had never tried to pierce iron before, seeing that most of the things he pierced was soft, human flesh, he never had the occasion to find out. Placing his finger in front of the space inside the chain link, the fishman slowly extended a single spike from the tip of said finger, the former entering cleanly through the whole at first, although at the spike widened to the girth of the space, it became apparent that the spike would not go further just by itself. Grasping the link in his other hand, Kei held it in place while slowly extending the spike even more. The fishman suddenly retracted the spike when he heard a crackling sound and looking down upon the spike, he saw that it had cracks all long the surface. With a slightly growl, he broke off the spike, tossing it on the ground while pulling the remnants into his body, allowing it to fix the broken spike to it's former glory. Once again grasping the chain in both hands, Kei tried to pull apart the links, but to no avail. The fishman stopped his attempt and turned his attention to his captain, a scowl creeping onto his face when he processed what she said. "Well, Miss Yuri, it seems that my amazing fishman strength is somewhat lacking at the moment." Kei replied sarcastically, the scowl remaining on his face even after Yuri tried to correct what she said. And here he thought that he finally found someone who accepted who he was without prejudice, but it seems that she was just like the others that he met on his travels. But even so, she was still a lady and he could not leave her behind. |

She sighed and leaned back in her seat. There was no point in the two of them going through all this trouble and exhausting themselves for something both of them knew they couldn't achieve, especially right before their potential escape. It was also apparent by the uncommon bitterness in Kei's voice that the assassin had said something to piss him off. Really, it was the only time she had seen the guy so upset about something besides whenever she was harmed or something along those lines. It had been pretty obvious that even with her poor attempt at an apology that those words had struck a soft spot. She didn't know much about the gentleman besides their talk on the shp earlier today, but she was pretty sure what the problem was. Well, she at least thought she knew what it was. Damnit, today was just a a parade of bad decisions, from stopping on the island, to deciding to take the ship, and just now when she pissed off her first mate and only ally in their current situation. She didn't really mean to offend, that was the honest truth, the pirate was just fed up with how they kept ending up in shit situations and said whatever came to mind out of frustration. Even if she felt this way though, how would she tell Kei. Her pride wouldn't allow her to just outright give some sort of heartfelt apology and admit what she had said was wrong, no matter how much she messed up. It was just the way she had lived a majority of her life and wasn't something that could be changed at the drop of a dime, even now. Still, they were pretty much up to their waists (or knees in Kei's case) and they wouldn't be able to work as well together with hostility between the two. It wasn't like she didn't trust the guy even after what had been said, but she didn't need his anger clouding judgement. There had been enough poor choices this day for her liking. Moving to the window again she noted how close they were to the town. The wooden wheels beneath them were now rolling and grinding against hard pavement instead of the soft dirt of one of the individual islands and she could hear many voices. The voices of civilians who murmured about as they moved through town. The other two pirates seemed like they were about to go into shock and start foaming at the mouth by this point. "Kei...." She began to speak to him, this time not in a whisper, but the words didn't manage to come out. She had actually attempted the words "I'm sorry" or even "I was wrong", but that didn't work. It seemed like it would be literally impossible for her to swallow her pride and admit defeat in a situation as this. "We're almost in town. They'll probably be taking us out soon and turning me in. Just get your ass ready and if we make it then tonight the two of us can celebrate however you want. Even if I have to drink more of that shitty whine of yours, haha." She actually managed to get out a laugh for once as she shot the fishman a familiar smile. The same pride that wouldn't allow her to admit her own shortcomings was the pride that she intended to put on the line to ensure their safety and escape. She could only hope the Starfish would understand her choice of words. Another five minutes or so passed before the carriage reach its location and the four of them were unloaded like cargo. They were brought into a room with several more gun wielding men and a man from the island who looked at three sheets of paper that appeared to be bounty pages. The guards moved swiftly and took the other two pirates out of the room and as they approached Yuri she was ready to act and commit to her epic escape. Well, that's what she would have done if not for the simple fact that she had been freed from her restraints along with Kei. The shock was so powerful that it just left her in silence as the man with the bounty paper blew smoke from his pipe and waved them off. "you small fires are free to go. Now get out of my office." Who the hell did he think he was to just shoo her away like a fly? Just the thought of being treated as nothing more than a mere nuisance just brought her to a simmering boil. "What the hell?! I thought this island was full of guys who caught bounties. I have a bounty and your just kicking me out like I don't matter? What the fuck is this?! And what happened to those other two pitiful idiots?" The man with the pipe blew smoke in her direction while moving the bounty posters to the end of the table. "I said you're nothing but a small fry. I'm not going to waste any more resources than I already have on a waste of time like you has a measly bounty of just 100,000 and that big guy who seems to have no bounty as well. At least those other two were worth a hefty sum." She looked at the posters. First was her own which was for the small trouble she had caused on Osula before leaving. It was no big deal and was no surprise that the bounty she had received was rather miniscule. If it were possible though, her drop would dropped straight to the ground at the sight of the next two posters. One was labeled Michael "Bed Wetter" and the other was Thomas "Baby Face". It was the two men who they had run into on the ship and had been along for the ride here and they both had bounties of 20 million somehow. For once in her life, the assassin was flat out speechless. She didn't move a muscle, as if a statue simply frozen in that point of time. |

Kei continued watching the world outside the carriage, keeping his gaze from his "captain", unsure if he could even call her his captain right now. It was true that she has tolerated his presence for the past week and a half or so, but now that he thought about it, she was probably just using him from the moment she met him. He was used to being used by other people, though it usually involved compensations for his services, but most of the people either showed open disgust or just had cold calculating eyes whenever they saw him, but this was the first time that anyone accepted him for who he was and was not put off by it, though now he guessed it was all a lie. A lie designed to make him feel more accepted and more agreeable to be used without proper compensation. Her lie about how she didn't think he was just a stupid fishman was even harder to swallow now that he was almost 100% sure that the only reason she said that was to get back to his good graces. It didn't take the carriage long to go from the dirt roads across the island and through the hamlets to a road with hard pavement that frequented the roads close to the major towns, the fact signalling that they were getting closer to their judgement by the second. Maybe he should take Yuri's advice after all. Bad Keikan, bad, such thoughts are very unbecoming for someone who was raised from the very moment he drew breath to never leave a woman to fight for herself no matter how much it hurts her pride. "Well, I might have to take you up on that, Miss Yuri." Kei replied, putting on a fake smile in Yuri's direction. There was no reason to agitate the situation even if he no longer wanted to be in the crew with this woman. When the carriage stopped, the four pirates were unceremoniously hauled out of the carriage and into the building, up the stairs, down a couple of hallways and into a room, right in front pipe-smoking man who was looking at the three bounty posters in front of him. Almost immediately after coming in, the two pirates from the ship were hauled away by more armed men, leaving Yuri and Kei to face the pipe man. The fishman's eyes opened surprise when the man just waved the duo off like they weren't worth his time, a fact that Yuri made sure to get angry about. Using the lull in the conversation after the man explained his reasoning and showed Yuri the bounty posters of the two other person, Kei gently grabbed Yuri and began to lead her out of the room. "Now, Miss Yuri, what were you saying about the celebration?" Kei asked with a real smile on his face. "Now if you'll excuse us." Kei continued, bowing low to the man behind the desk and exited the room. |

Yuri was pretty much silent until the enormous fishman grabbed her and began to lead her out of the room. It seemed he had been around her long enough to know what would be coming when the assassin broke free from her momentary stupor. His strong grip easily woke her up and let's just say her reply to the man's indifference towards their presence was less than subtle. There was plenty of kicking, screaming, wild arm flailing, and cursing, but fortunately for everyone involved, the fishman was strong enough to stop her from doing anything hasty. If anything it was much more useful for them that pirate captain was restrained, they were still rather out-manned and outgunned in this situation. Not like it had ever stopped her in the past, but the location wasn't what one would refer to as the most suitable either. Once they were outside she managed to find the wooden wall of a house and began to punch at it with her bare fist. "How dare that son of a bitch say I'm not worth his time. What the fuck! They'll give any piss poor excuse for a pirate a high bounty nowadays but I can't even reach a single million. This is BS!" Her voice only escalated in volume as she went. Each blow to the wood putting more and more force on the structure as it began to crack and splinter under her force until it all exploded inwards on to a living room floor and there was now a hole where a firm wall once stood. The pirate was left standing there, inhaling and exhaling deeply while she eyed her handiwork. There were some civilians looking in her direction, but she paid them no mind and instead nonchalantly placed her hands in her pockets and began to walk away. That whole incident had definitely made her much more infuriated than she had ever been in the past. Sure, she was grateful they wouldn't have to worry about being tossed in prison or fighting their way out, that went without saying. One would think that due to her once being an assassin that she'd have rather stuck to shadows and avoid having a bounty altogether, but that wasn't what the violet eyed pirate wanted at all. Fame, power, fortune; she wanted it all and the way she saw it everyone else should already be able to see her future potential. That said, when two grown men that act like children get more respect than her there was definitely a problem here. Now it was just a question of how she would go about solving this problem. Looking to her gargantuan first mate she placed her hands behind her head and continued walking. She had now idea where they were headed, but it didn't matter much. It was a decently sized town so who knew, they might end up finding something interesting and even if nothing did pop up it still gave her time to scheme. Kei likely wouldn't want to have a part of it or try to persuade her not to do something risky due to his gentleman like personality, so she kept her intentions masked for the time being. "Disregard what just happened. Sometimes a girls just gotta punch something. I'd expect a gentleman like you to understand." As annoying as it was, she could still take advantage of his behavior from time to time, which was fortunate. She doubted he would just go and ignore what had happened, but if anything it would imply that she'd rather not have him bring it up even if he didn't buy her dumb excuse. Now what was he asking about by a celebration? It took a moment, but a light bulb soon went off in her head that reminded the assassin of the deal she made to go drink some wine with the guy. She had been so prepped up and ready for some kind of brawl or lethal shootout with their captors that she had completely forgotten. It also didn't help that mere moments ago she had been completely consumed and taken over by a blind fury that compelled her to destroy homes for the hell of it. Oh well, she had no problem following through on this deal. They weren't doing much else at the moment anyway so it wasn't like she would be wasting her time or anything. Surely there would be shop or at least some sort of restaurant that could sell them wine. As for what type it would be that would be left up to Kei seeing as how he seemed to be the one that was more enthused for these sorts of things. "You know Kei, if I didn't know any better I'd say that you're looking forward to this celebration a bit too much. Maybe I should check my drinks before swallowing them down. Slipping some drugs in there wouldn't be too difficult for a trained assassin like yourself." She teased the guy a bit, though didn't bother looking up to make eye contact. It was pretty annoying to have to constantly tilt your head upwards to talk to a fourteen foot tall man. Sure, she would still do it every once in a while just to let him know she was still speaking to him, but for the most part Yuri just tended not to bother with it, and such was the case in this conversation as well. "Maybe the whole gentleman thing is just your hook to get with cute human girls. Not bad." She joked a bit more. Hopefully he would catch on or this could just end up creating another rift between them like her comment about fishmen earlier. Edited by Hideo, Jun 27 2011, 08:43 AM.

If he thought that getting Yuri outside of the building was going to be easy, he was wrong, dead wrong. Every single step from the room with the pipeman, down a couple of hallways, down the stairs, and out of door into the fresh air, Kei had to struggle against his kicking and screaming 'captain', though he was glad that she decided against turning the tantrum into a full-blown fight since the fishman had no intention of being riddled full of holes from the gun-totting men that lined the hallways of the building. As soon as the duo were outside, Kei let go of Yuri, the latter proceeding to beat the hell out of the wooden wall in front of her as the fishman watched the scene with a sort of nervous look on his face. While he didn't mind Yuri venting her furry on inanimate objects, the pipeman might might decide that even Yuri's meager bounty was worth it. Thankfully after she was done dismantling the wall, Yuri stalked away from the scene of the crime with the fishman following her, intent on preventing her from causing any more damage. As he continued to walk beside Yuri, Kei was trying to decide when would be the best time to leave the woman and strike out on his own once again. It wasn't that he minded her violent behavior too much, it was her apparent lies that he had a problem with. The problem was getting out of this 'relationship' with all of his limbs attached, since Yuri would probably wouldn't like it when he would decide to leave. As such it would probably be better to tell her after they had their celebration. "Don't worry, Miss Yuri, I understand." Kei replied, a fake smile plastered on his face, not really wanting to antagonize the female unnecessarily. "Of course I'm looking forward to it, Miss Yuri. It is very rare for someone like me to have even a chance to drink good wine with a beautiful lady like yourself." Kei replied and took a small bow as he continued walking beside Yuri, deciding to ignore the woman's probably joking comment about the drugs, seeing it as so ridiculous that he should not even grace it with a reply. "And the gentleman thing is not an act to get girls, seeing as most cute human girls couldn't handle my size." Kei continued with a smirk as the duo continued their way to the nearest cafe, making the fishman giddy with excitement about trying the unique archipelago wine. |

Wait, was that last line innuendo of some sort? The assassin assumed it to be at first, but ignored the thought after thinking about it for a while. It was Kei after all. She had only been joking about the gentleman like behavior being a ruse so of course his nature wouldn't permit such words to leave his mouth with meaning other than the most obvious and literal. Still, the smile on his face only said otherwise and she began to shudder at the mental image that had unfortunately formed in her already. Hopefully it wouldn't leave too much permanent mental scarring. "You know Kei, flattery will get you nowhere, but it doesn't hurt either." She replied lightly, eyes still moving about in order to catch a glimpse of a place they could stop. You would think that in a town of this size it wouldn't be too difficult, but she knew little to nothing about Hitsuji besides the way they treated pirates with decent bounties. Perhaps the shop the place they were looking for would be found on a different island segment entirely? If it weren't for her own stubborn pride and the fact that no one wanted to come near her after the woman's brutal assault on the wall, Yuri might have actually went and asked directions. Even now she was still picking splinters of wood from her fists. If she had to make an assumption though, she'd say the island they were currently on was more like the law and order district. There seemed to be a high presence of men in similar clothing and carrying weapons much like those that were held by the men that caught them on the ship. Besides some homes there wasn't much else that set it apart. It was truly hard to tell, but her thoughts on this matter were soon interrupted by the sounds of explosions, gunfire, and screaming. The woman's violet eyes arced upwards as red and orange flames suddenly burst upward into a frightening pillar at the town's center. She spun on her heel to quickly look back down the street behind them. It seemed that the attack had been focused on that building the two of them had left not too long ago. Considering they had to stop in order for the woman to vent her rage all over a poor defenseless wall though, they hadn't gotten too far from the place and she could make out four individuals departing from the black smoke of the flames and making their way down the street. Citizen quickly moved out of their way in order to avoid being harmed, and Yuri was inclined to do the same. Whatever was going on didn't really involve the two of them, so if some pirates wanted to show up and be a couple of jackasses she would definitely just move out of the way and allow them to be on their merry way. That would have been her mentality if not for the fact that two of the men running out of the destruction were quite familiar. Their features and voices becoming much more recognizable as the distance gap between the two groups smaller. Most would use height, facial structure, hair color, eye color, and other mundane means of identifying someone, but this situation was a bit different. The soggy pair of trousers and the snotty pitiful face were enough for Yuri to take action. It would likely be obvious to Kei by this point as well that two of the four men were the pirates holding twenty million beli bounties on their heads. Venting one's rage was of course all the more pleasing when done on the actual objects of said fury rather than inanimate walls. The chances of her passing up this opportunity were slim to none to say the least and as the men approached she drew four knives and struck the first in the knees, 2 in each. He let out a scream of agony as his tear drenched face fell right into the dirt. The other she dealt with a bit more gruesomly with a downward kick right into his knee, sending him to the ground. She was pretty sure people's legs weren't supposed to bend that way, but that just meant she had done a good job. Sure, killing the two of them would have been easy, but the swift kill method wasn't what she was looking for at the moment. "So that's what it feels like to kick someone's ass worth twenty million. I gotta say, it's pretty disappointing." The other two men stopped dead in their tracks as the two men they had just broken out fell to the ground. "Who the hell is this bitch?!" "Does it matter? Captain said get them back to the ship now. Just kill her and be done with it." At the sound of their conversation her ears perked up a bit and a single eyebrow rose upwards in a sign of interest. The other two men definitely seemed to be in a different class than the two she had just crippled, this was evident by the work they had done to the building in breaking them lose. So why did they have a need for such weaklings like the two of them? Then again, this probably explained how the two of them got such a large bounty. Piggybacking off the bounty of a well known captain wasn't something too uncommon for the lesser members of powerful crews. She held three more knives in her right, one in between each finger. "So tell me guys, who's this captain you mentioned? And what does he need from pathetic men such as these. He must be pretty scrawny himself to require these two so much that he'd send more capable members into town, blowing shit up, and causing a scene." There was no response, the two pirates simply charged straightforward for the woman. One held a large club while the other seemed to be more confident in his hand to hand combat skills. |

"Of course, Miss Yuri." Kei replied lightly, keeping the same tone as the woman. The fishman's giddiness diminished ever so slightly as they made their way down the center of the street, the citizens keeping a fair distance away from the duo, most likely afraid of Yuri for her sudden burst of violence while Kei was a giant fishman. It was this fact that frustrated Kei somewhat, he wanted to ask for directions even if Yuri's stubbornness would not allow it. However, every time he tried to waver away from the center of the street towards either a single person or a group of people, they would always quicken their pace or some even outright ran away from him, mumbling about freak pirates and why wasn't anything done about them by the men in uniform that were stationed at regular intervals along the entire length of the street. The fishman, just like his companion, was yanked out of his frustrated thoughts by the familiar sound of screams, gunfire and explosions that seemed to emanate from the building with the broken wall. Turning around, Kei followed Yuri to the side of the street, keeping his eyes on the long, billowing tendrils of black smoke leaving the building and expanded further into the street. The fishman's eyes narrowed when he saw the outlines of four people walking out of the building and heading towards them. Judging by their voices and soon, when they left the majority of the smoke, by their appearance, two of the men were the ones from the ship, both with twenty million beli bounty on their heads. Kei watched as the four men drew closer, trying to decide what to do when Yuri decided for him, launching herself at the two men they met before and quickly dispatched them, before mocking the other two with her usual style. However, it seemed like the two remaining men did not deem her worthy of an answer and charged at her. Deciding that this was a good time to help the lady, Kei, ever the gentlemen, turned his attention to the pirate with the club, since he seemed like the tougher opponent. Thankfully their attention was mostly focused by the woman in front of them, so when the club-man neared Yuri, Kei darted towards him, body bent down to the ground, tackling the club-man to the ground. "You shouldn't talk to the lady like that." Kei scolded the club-man as he got up, the latter still lying on the ground, winded slightly from the tackle. Crouching into a fighting position, the fishman waited for the man to get up, his pride not allowing him to kick the opponent while they were down. |

She was prepared to meet them both head on, but fortunately for her Kei had already intervened and tackled down the man in the club. He would've likely been troublesome, especially with the fist fighter attacking at the same time, but with even numbers things just got that much easier for the duo. "You've got a lot more restraint than I do, Kei. Make sure to keep your guy alive. We need to be able to question at least one of them as to where this captain is." She managed to get out while ducking an uppercut aimed at her chin by the second of the two men. He was quicker than she first anticipated, a fact that had nearly caught her off guard. Still, judging by his movements she deduced that the man wasn't just a mere brawler and was instead trained in some form of fighting. If she had to take a guess she'd say boxing judging by his stance and movements. Most who were just brawlers or something of the like could still attack quickly and with a lot of force, but their attacks usually had a lot of overemphasized movements and weak spots. This guy was different. She licked her lips as a snake like smile spread across her face. "I'm going to enjoy this one." Her hands moved to her waist where two gauntlets awaited their use. The enemy pirate seemed to notice this however and moved in quickly, an attempt to stop her or perhaps just to catch the woman off guard while she was trying to prepare her weapons. Yuri sidestepped the first blow, but the next was too quick and accurate and slammed right into the side of her rib cage and sent her tumbling to the ground. She did however manage to lean and roll with the force of the blow, allowing the assassin to quickly regain her balance and stance despite taking such a quick impact to the side. By this point her hands had already slipped into the Black Rose gauntlets. Each had a cartridge installed into the wrist area that flowed poison in from the vein system and down to the tip of the claws. The left gauntlet seemed to be flowing with a white substance while the right was jet black. Judging by his speed and refusal o back down however, Yuri knew her opponents wasn't interested in the least in backing down. It was surely admirable and something she could respect and actually expected to see from those of her own crew. She took her stance and waited for him to enter her range. She definitely had the advantage in speed and the fact that she held actual weapons, but his brute force and accuracy were surely something to be reckoned with. His stance was crouched and low, a good strategy in order to decrease the size of her target and make it bit more difficult to strike him all while protecting his vitals as well. In fact, he had already managed to duck right into her stance and beneath her guard. The first blow came quick and dangerous. but the woman kicked back with her feet and opened up the gap between them once more in order to regroup. It seemed the boxer expected this however and charged right in. She smiled. Just what the violet eyed assassin had predicted he would do. His fist was already poised and ready to take another jab at hr torso, but she easily blocked and stabbed into his side, forcing him to retreat before the next blow could strike a more vital area and potentially kill. The assassin eyed the blood now running down the side of her weapon's claws now. "Hehehe, let's see how well your body reacts now with the addition of my poisons. Don't worry, it's not lethal, killing you off so soon would ruin my buzz. It's been too damn long since I've gotten to enjoy myself. Between fighting giant birds, shooting gangsters, running from cavemen, go-" She stopped as she realized she was rambling, something she usually would have been pissed off about if someone else did. Well, this was worse, she was actually going so far as to do it right in the middle of a battle. Deciding to leave it at that, she flicked the blood off to the side and got back in stance. This fight was still far from over. Hopefully Kei was doing fine in his own. |

The fishman jumped back out of the way of the horizontally swinging club. The wielder of the club was rather tall for an average human male, eight, perhaps even nine feet tall, though he was still shorter than the fishman. This fact put the opponent's regular swing right at Kei's lower chest, right at the level where the ribs gave away to the soft tissue of the stomach. Ever since Kei tackled him to the ground, the guy had not uttered a single word, though a grunt or two escaped his mouth whenever the fishman's fist connected with the man's chest. Quickly reversing the direction of the club, the man brought the club down low across Kei's legs, the latter having just regained his balance from the dodge. As such, Kei could not move his body in time as his legs were swept up from under him and the fishman crumbled to the ground, air suddenly leaving his lungs when his back made contact with the ground. With a groan, Kei rolled to the side as the man brought down the club onto the spot the fishman had previously occupied just a moment ago. Struggling to his feet, Kei lashed out at the man halfheartedly, the latter easily jumping backwards out of Kei's longer reach, allowing the fishman a bit of respite. Both were breathing heavier now that they both traded some, kind of significant, blows. Now that he thought about it, the man kind of reminded Kei of the natives from Torino, though the man was much leaner than them and exponentially smarter. Kei was yet to reveal the hidden spikes since in physical combat against anything other than bare hands would most likely break the them and he would lose the element of surprise. With a silent look of understanding between them, both the man and the fishman launched themselves at each other, the man swinging his club once more at Kei's ribs in a counterclockwise direction. Having to bend backwards almost in half, Kei barely dodged the swing by going underneath the club and threw a punch at the man's right side, the man predictably dodging it by turning in a clockwise direction while using his left arm to reverse the direction of the club once again and swinging it back in a clockwise direction. Still bent over, Kei's left arm swung around in a backhanded punch, spikes extending themselves at the last moment, at the man's legs. In such close proximity, the man could not dodge, the spikes drawing blood as the back of the hand slammed into the man's knees, shattering the knee caps. A groan of pain escaped the man's lips as the crumbled to the ground, the club dropping to the ground as Kei stopped his spin and approached the man, his finger growing a spike, and proceeded to give the man a couple of jabs to the arms to make sure he got enough poison. By now, the pain was gone, but he still could not move his arms or legs, the muscles and the nerves too numb to respond to his orders. Sitting down cross legged beside the man, Kei watched the conclusion of Yuri's fight. |

The boxer was moving in once more and much like before, Yuri analyzed his movement as much as possible before reacting. His stance and speed seemed to be much the same, if anything the earlier wound seemed to serve as nothing but a nuisance rather than actually slowing his momentum. She figured as much, the wound wasn't as deep as she had first thought it to be, but that didn't matter when one was dealing with poisons. Even the slightest scratch could prove potentially deadly if one's bare flesh and blood was exposed. Judging by the amount of blood running down his side and trailing across the dirt as the man made his way towards her she knew that earlier blow had been more than enough to prove her point. Although his speed wasn't negatively affected in any notable fashion, his movements seemed a lot less precise and a bit more unbalanced. Something like this would usually be particularly easy to exploit in combat with a hand to hand fighter such as him, but his stance still held firm. The ducked position along with his quick movements were still enough to make the whole thing worthwhile. Still, it seemed that the Black Sparrow poison had done its job, and that was all she needed to take the title of victor in this short street battle. Positioning one foot behind the other and strengthening her own stance in preparation for attack, she placed her right in front and the left in back. Her hands seemed to mimic this as well with her right and more dominant fist clenched and moved forward while the left stayed back, waiting its chance to counter the inevitable first strike. The assassin was more used to being an agile and nimble fighter in most combat situation, but that wouldn't cut it here. This guy had impressive skill of his own and could counter as soon as she dodged. Once he had entered her zone the man struck forward with another fierce jab that was parried to the side. A common technique in martial arts to use one's own attack against them and attack the new opening in their guard. Her free hand started to move forward, but it seemed that his speed had suddenly increased by leaps and bounds. No, his speed wasn't increasing, something else was occurring here. By the time the assassin realized what was happening it would already be too late. he boxer landed a clean blow to her gut and she could feel all the air escaping her lungs and out of her mouth. This blow held much more force than the one from earlier and landed a bit more cleanly. The force of the strike being enough to send her toppling back once again until slamming against the wall of a building. "Damn him, ugh." She was on the ground, holding her stomach with one hand and trying to stand once again with the other. Fortunately, the wall served as a good support for this purpose. Her legs were unsteady and it seemed the woman was still struggling to catch her breath, but was not ready to give in quite yet. She coughed a couple of times, still not completely recovered but took her stance nonetheless while recalling the attack that had happened just moments ago. Just as she parried his strike the man had actually taken hold of her arm and pulled her towards him while continuing on with his forward momentum, which gave the illusion of him suddenly speeding up on his own. If she had to guess, Yuri would say that the man had actually planned that right from the go. "Damn him!" She repeated in her head, though this time it was directed at her own first mate. It seemed that he had a few problems of his own, but in the end he had finished his fight and was waiting on her. Damn, some captain she appeared to be in this situation, getting her ass kicked like this. The hand at her side moved back into its guarding position as she just ignored the pain. Her pride had forced her to do many things in the path that were against better judgement. This time it just wouldn't allow her to appear as weak in front of her one and only crew member. She went around talking big shit and the thought of people thinking she was nothing but talk may as well have been a shot to the head for her pride. As he moved in again she simply watched and waited as the first blow came her way, a straight punch, likely packing more power than his previous blows, and this time aimed straight for her face. It was obvious that this blow was meant to be the finisher for their fight, and the violet eyed assassin knew that if the attack landed it surely would be. It seemed that seeing her in her current state had given the man a boost to his morale, probably under the assumption that she was too wounded to properly counter or even stand a chance against him. She smirked, not out of amusement or anything of the sort. It was actually the opposite, she smirked out of pure rage. Something one usually wouldn't expect from someone who's angry, but the thought of striking the man down in cold blood for looking down on her was too much for her to bear. Simply, she didn't resist and allowed her body to react naturally. He punched forward though his attack was off, it seemed that the Black Sparrow poison had done its job in clouding his vision and he was rather frustrated by this. The follow up strike came in the form of a hooking punch, but Yuri was way ahead of him. She had already planned around his unique guard and counter strategy and was going to strike and end it all. Leaping to avoid his second strike, she then pushed off the wall behind her and darted forward faster than he could react, especially with his messed up vision. Her form was like that of a beast pouncing on its prey and savagely rending its flesh with its claws. First was a stab into each shoulder, which brought the man down with the momentum of her pounce as they both hit the dirt. Iron claws still digging deeply into the flesh, she finished by quickly running them down and through his body, putting an end to the man. Removing the weapons, she staggered her way over to Kei. She initially tried to just walk normally and avoid acknowledging how much she had been hit in that battle, but it wasn't really worth it. Instead, she opted to interrogate the man that they had basically taken hostage for any sort of valuable information he could have. Seeing as the pirate hunting guy they had encountered from earlier would likely be showing up any moment now, she knew she'd have to act fast. Fortunately their fights didn't really take too long, so if all went well they'd be moving on in no time. The guy was a bit tight lipped at first, but Yuri knew plenty of torturing techniques to get him to start talking. It wasn't long before they had the information they needed on the crew and their captain. She was practically dumbfounded by what she had learned. "Shit! Let's go Kei, we gotta get that bastard before he leaves the island. This right her could make us big. Bigger than big!" She turned to her fishman companion and motion for the two of them to get moving before the situation got worse. Edited by Hideo, Jul 2 2011, 11:27 PM.

Kei watched transfixed as the fight between Yuri and her opponent raged on for another couple of minutes. Never before, or at least in a very long time, has he seen such beauty, such fluidity of motion from a human being, hell, perhaps even a fishman, though any fishmen from the squid and jellyfish families could do far better. Kei almost went to help Yuri several times, however, the fact that she got up soon after being hit and that she had her pride on the line, stopped the fishman just in time. Kei breathed several sighs of relief when Yuri finally finished the fight, filleting her opponent to make sure once and for all that he was dead. Next came the part that he really disliked about his profession. Torture. It wasn't that he minded all the blood and the gore, it was the fact that the target saw them yet was unarmed and could not defend itself that made him uncomfortable with it. Several times the fishman looked away during particularly painful procedures, but in the end it was the information revealed by the the man that really opened his eyes. With still wide-open eyes Kei gazed up at Yuri as she got up with an excited gleam in her eyes and motioned for him to follow her to get the captain of the men they have defeated. No way in hell is he going to follow her to their possible doom. Even if they did manage to defeat the captain, they would certainly get a large bounty which he, being in a profession that he was, was trying to avoid. It didn't matter if she ordered him to do it or not, the fishman would not put his head on the line for something as stupid as fame. "I'm sorry, Miss Yuri, but this is where we must part ways. It's nothing against you or anything, but I'm not looking for any kind of fame that involves showing my face and getting a bounty." Kei half-lied, not really wanting Yuri's wrath to descend upon him. "If fate would have it, we will meet again some day, but until then, good bye." Kei continued, bowing deeply, walking away from the other assassin, heading in the direction where he supposed the dock was. It took some time for him to barter a passage on a ship due to his size, but in the end he managed to find passage on a merchant ship in exchange for his strength. As the ship sailed off, Kei wondered what sort of wine he might try in the future. |
