Chapter 2:
The Winds Collide, Typhoon Central!

West meets South meets East meets North!

What is Loguetown known for, of course...the execution of Pirate King Gol D. Roger, at almost 120 years since that moment, a lot has changed. Oh yeah, it still maintains that "hustle and bustle" that most people have come to know. Busy streets, crowded stores, and chances to see some of the most spectacular vistas among all the Blues. It's also a place where Pirates, Marines, and Bounty Hunters meet, making for some pretty strange events. At just this moment, the temperature is a temperate 24 degrees Celsius (75 degrees Fahrenheit) with a gentle crosswind traveling approximately 5-10 knots from an East-SouthEast direction as well as light cloud coverage and a 60% chance of rain.

Who else, other than Date Z. Yzaguirre, would find himself floating towards this scenic destination in a ship that's been battered by the elements just narrowly escaping death at Rare Animal Island. Similarly, he'd run out of supplies three days ago, having to survived by eating barnacles growing on the side of the Gulf Current.

Docking, likewise, was no easy thing. Tens of ships (merchants, slavers, etc.) arrived every day and departed everyday. In a way, Loguetown was a hub of travel and tourism as well as trade. Along the long stretch of boats awaiting docking, Date's was the 6th one in...not bad considering the line. A burly dock-worker gave him a dirty look as a blood-covered, barely recovered Swordsman, handed him a handeful of seashells as payment and continued down the pier.

It's so not cool to mess with the dockworkers...

Crashing noises diverted most passerby's attention towards the "burly dockworker" mentioned before, who had just recently tore Date's ship a new porthole with a large iron pole. Standing at a hefty 7'2", he was larger than some gorilla species and had an ugly mug to prove it, his tiptoing steps seemed to be more of a method to avoid breaking through the thin wooden planks of the dock's surface, than his preferred method of walking, and the pole he was heaving probably weighed at least as much as Date did.

"Oops," Philbin, said. He gave a crooked smile showing his teeth, or lack thereof. "Must'a slipped on this 'ere dock." He was positively beaming. Date, however, was most likely not. His hand slipped to one of the sheathes at his side while his other hung loosely.

The passerby's gasped, finally! It seems today had been a slow day and they'd finally get to see some real "action." The crowd, naturally, was diverse in its gatherings; members of the aristocracy gathered around the back feigning disinterest (although the probably wanted to see an ass-kicking more than anyone else), while those at the poverty line gathered in the front yelling obscenities at the two. Whilst all the classes and people between poor and rich stopped as well.

A cloud lazily floated above the two, obscuring them in shadow for a moment. Another floated past...

"...Say that again."

The crowd held their breath in anticipation.

The most recent stop in his quest would be the island known as Loguetown. One of the better known islands of the East Blue, due to it being so close to the entrance to the Grand Line, and for the execution of the famous Gol D. Rodger. All of which is History 101 now-a-days, but it wasn't something that anyone would, or possibly could forget. It was branded into history, and forever will be. It was on that day, one-hundred and twenty-years ago, that changed the way of piracy.

Only being on the island for two days, Ozias has been staying at the local Jansen Inn. It was one of the more high-classed room and boarding facilities, but Ozias felt that he should treat himself to something. It was five years ago that Ozias had left on his quest; his quest to become the greatest Martial Artist of his time; to be one of the first humans to master Fishman Karate, and to find the Eight Drunken Scrolls. Granted, he has yet to find any of the Scrolls in his five-year adventure, but his skills have enhanced, nonetheless.

The time that Ozias would spend here, is the time he would take to rest. Riding the oceans as often as he did, and pushing his own body to it's limits. This was his vacation, and he would do his best to enjoy it before he would set-sail once more, back out into the vast Blues, until he feels himself ready to take on Reverse Mountain, and take on the Grand Line and live out his dream, and find those damn scrolls.

"Hmph.." Ozias would allow a soft breath to escape him as he walked around, for once, without having to drag along his luggage and belongings; all of which stayed back at the Jansen Inn. he was walking along the waterline of the piers, looking out over the ocean and watching the waves crash up against the ships that were docking. With his hands behind his head, elbows-stretched out as he took in the sight. Nothing would break his relaxation time.

However, out of the corner of his eye as he looked out at the vast blue, he noticed a crowd of people gathering close to a single pier; singling it out, as they were. For what reason were they doing so? He didn't know, but it caught his attention nonetheless. With his curiosity spiked, he would start his way toward the gathering pier; he himself didn't want to be apart of the group as a whole, but he wanted to be within distance, to see what had their attention so damn well.

The hulking man-beast disloged the heavy iron pole from the ship's side rocking it violently back and forth. The Gulf Current was reaching a state of complete neglect, looking more like a ghost ship then the proud "pirate" ship it had been at first departure. He had a white-knuckle grip on the tool and swung it like a children's plaything - not a good sign when you're thinking of fighting this guy.

"Oh look!" he guffawed, pointing a fat sausage finger in Date's direction,"We got us a tough guy 'ere, betta' teach 'im a lesson!" A fluid motion drove the pole down towards one of the supporting columns, which had been corroded by the sea and time, breaking through with a shower of splinters....that entire portion of the pier shifted downwards, adding a new interesting element to the fight. An element where Date had the high ground.

"Hey, what the hell was tha-" no time was was given to finish. The meathead's next attacked zoned in on his opponent judging by the wild screams and uneven steps he was taking towards the swordsman.

Roronoa Zoro's Signature Santouryuu Turtle-Shell Block, he unsheathed three sword simultaneously, catching the third one in his mouth and crossed them all, a shower of sparks flying outwards before catching the blow.

A concentric circle of dust was jettisoned from the impact site, the clashing of metal against metal drew even more excitement from the (even larger) crowd; the shadier of Loguetown's inhabitants were placing bets on the winner, giving the smaller swordsman odds of 10 to 1, a fool's bet. People's confidence doesn't run too deep these days, it's all about the looks isn't it?

Date wasn't concerned with that, he was struggling against a beheamoth who was able to crack the wood beneath Date's feet - which he was barely able to keep from buckling beneath him.

*Huff, Huff*Yo-you're not as tough as you think you are," the insult lost some of its bite, however, through his clenched teeth and pained expression. The attack's tremendous pressure re-opened the wound (gained from his previous escapade on Rare Animal Island) which had burst and let a steady stream of warm blood trickle down his torso.

The crowd around him would begin to grow in it's numbers. But it's human nature to be attracted to violence, right? Especially when it would seem to be a large brute against a much smaller, younger opponent; it was assumed by Ozias that he didn't have much experience under his belt, but he was holding his own against the large brute, as he blocked his oncoming attack with the unique three-sword-style, who to Ozias' knowledge, has only been used by a handful, if that.

The sound of people rummaging for money out of their pockets from behind was caught by Ozias, as he turned and watched as they began making bet's on the two men in combat. With the obvious brute-strength from the larger man, it would seem as though all bets were in him; I mean, he did just destroy the beaten and battered pier, almost entirely, and is currently cracking the wood underneath the feet of the kid. His chances were much higher, in most eyes. But his confidence might end up being the end of him.

"My beli is on the kid." now, Ozias was no gambling man, but he did indeed wanted to see who would win this bout between brute and youth. He would reach into his pocket and pull out a small pouch of beli, with just a random amount within it. They would all look at Ozias, as if he had lost all his marbles; but that wasn't the case, of course. The crowd didn't care all that much, as they thought it was just more beli for themselves. Greedy bastards.

Date's swords rasped against each other as the pole continued to push him further down, the dock had passed its limit long ago and was now in danger of collapsing completely, sending both him and the dockworker into the ocean.

I've got to end this quick...

His face noticeably darkened as his opponent wasted no time in exploiting Date's condition. He began a merciless series of powerful kicks to Date's side, exactly where the large, bleeding slash was located. Each time, it gave the dock worker a satisfactory grunt and, eventually, brought the lone swordsman down to one knee.

With a last burst of strength he was able to lift the pipe enough so that he could roll under the attack, dropping all three swords in the process. The iron pipe smashed through the dock in an instant, temporarily putting the man off balance. Date was right behind him...

Kaleidoscope Slash!

Date's remaining sword was ripped from it's sheath tearing through the man's back with a jagged edge and resheathed just as quickly. The man was dropped his weapon and reached for his back, trying desperately to keep the wound closed but to no avail. The damage would be irreversible, in fact...death was almost assured. It was the dockworker's turn to fall to his knees now, facing opposite of the man who killed him.

One by one, Date picked the fallen blades off of the pier to the melody of his opponent's laboured breathing and a crowd of disappointed Loguetown citizens (some of which, had just lost some pretty heft bets). He kept one sword in hand and laid it, execution style, on the dockworker's right shoulder.

What is this!? Has Date's lust for blood gone too far...would he really kill a defenseless foe?

"Any last requests before I give you a warrior's death?"

With the battle coming to a closing, Ozias would collect his winnings as those greedy bastards from before were mumbling and grumbling about their loss of beli over the bout between the two who stood in the water. But out of the corner of his eye, Ozias caught glimpse of the boy and the downed opponent, with the position of execution; the right blade upon the defenseless opponent, as if he were going to kill him outright. But at the inquiry of last request, Ozias sighed lightly.

With his earnings in his pockets, Ozias would push his way through the crowd. Though death upon loss is the way pirates often handle their ordeals, this wasn't the way to go about things. Ozias wasn't a bloodthirsty traveler in the slightest, and any foe he has defeated over his traveling years, he has yet to have any bloodshed. Killing wasn't in his repertoire; now beating senseless, that was okay.

"Hey!" it was just a moment or so after the kid had questioned for any last request, before he would end the man's life; it was assumed that was the direction it was going in. But nonetheless, Ozias made his way through the crowd and was standing on the concrete seawall, where only some of the dock would remain, going down into the water if one were to walk out onto it.

"You've proven yourself. Killing the man achieves you nothing." he said as he stood on the wall, his arms limped down by his side as he kept his eyes on the two men out in the shallow water.

Date chuckled, his body still fresh from combat and splattered with his own blood and his opponents.

"Feh, and who's going to stop me?" Escaped his mouth in a soft whisper. "You!?" The sword's edge inched closer and closer to the dockman's neck, yet the pitiful worker couldn't react at all- his body already being pushed to the limit by that last assault.

The world doesn't need erratic weaklings who think they can pick on those smaller then them... His blade cut a small notch in the neck, just barely breaking the skin and drew a line of blood. Date had never gone so far in his life before, this was his first "real" kill.

"I'll give you a reason to fear me!" He cried, moreso to himself than anyone else.

Date's katana withdrew sharply, enlarging the cut but missing vital arteries by a hair's breadth. His left arm was held out towards the stranger, palm facing him: a universal symbol meaning "stay there, don't come any closer." His other hand, however, was preparing a last devastating strike.
