Their expertise means that they are very knowledgeable of the economy, and deal with all manner of merchandise Position: Group leader Physical Appearance Height: 6’ Weight: 160 Hair: Blonde Eyes: yellow Clothing/Accessories: Being a marine, Vulcan is usually required to wear his marine uniform. He has drawn a Yellow smiley face on the left side of the front of his marine shirt, however. When possible, he changes into his normal attire. Vulcan wears a orange jacket with black stripes going down the sleeves. On the front of the shirt is a pirate skull and crossbones with a black X crossed over it. The jacket is left unzipped and a black T-shirt with Yellow circle on the front. On hot days, he wears a Yellow T-shirt with a black circle and may go without his jacket. He’s always in blue jeans. He also wears a pair of black running shoes. Regardless of which outfit he is in, he always wears a pair of black fingerless gloves. Spoiler: click to toggle General Appearance: Vulcan is tall, with fair amounts of muscle on his body, resembling a track runner. He’s usually seen smiling. His hair is very spiky, and usually unkempt. He has two large claw marks going across his stomach from an accident as a marine involving a circus bear and unsalted peanuts. No picture in here The Character Personality: Vulcan is, on the surface, very carefree. Often seemingly going with whatever is thrown at him with no real plan, just vaguely headed in the direction of his goal. In actuality, he actually spends a lot of time in thought. He sets up certain goals for himself, and makes careful sure of what he needs to obtain them, and the rest is left up to fate. While he does allow things to fall where they may, he’s always keeping careful track of where and when things fall to make sure he can get where he needs to be. Vulcan is a very friendly person, who doesn’t often hold a grudge or start arguments. He does have a bit of a violent streak, which usually ends him up in altercations anyway. Most of the fights he gets into start out with him trying to diffuse a situation, and ending up punching someone. For Vulcan, a physical fight isn’t the same as an emotional one, and doesn’t take them very seriously. His tendency to use a punch to the face to shut someone up has gotten him into plenty of trouble in the past and probably will in the future. He hasn’t ever killed anyone, and claims he wouldn’t unless he knew they had killed someone innocent before. Vulcan is a very loyal person, but he’s not above deceiving others to a certain extent. He only manipulates those he really needs to, and if they deserve it Vulcan will find some way to pay them back. He doesn’t believe in fate, and prefers the idea that the future can change at any moment. Reckless though determined, he is often very clever with how he digs himself out of trouble even if he got into it through stupidity. Hid tendency to punch his way into trouble is balanced by his ability to talk his way out of it, at least some of the time. Hometown: Blitzland Kingdome, on Bolzen island History: Vulcan grew up in the Blitzland, a Kingdome established many eons ago that was once ruled by a powerful monarch that stole riches from many other islands to add to his own wealth. One day, there was a rebellion lead by the citizens, and the monarchy ended. The island is still referred to as a “Kingdome”, they live out a democratic system. Vulcan was born the son of a former noble family who had fallen into middle class over the last generation. As the family began to adapt to their lack of money and influence, Vulcan grew up exposed to the ridicule of the other nobility children. He would often get involved in fights with those that mocked his family. His father left when Vulcan was ten to become a marine, and made him promise to stop fighting while he was gone. Vulcan was left in the care of his mother and grandfather, and refused to fight from that day forward. As he grew, Vulcan spent most of his time running around the Kingdome. Leaping from rooftops and through alleyways, he was the fastest when it came to getting from place to place. Eventually, he took up a job delivering mail and became very successful. He saved up his money in hopes of one day purchasing a sword that sat in a local smith’s shop, which was recovered from a sunken ship long ago. It was rumored to have legendary powers. Around the time he turned twelve, his father returned home and shared with him many great stories about the open sea. Vulcan wanted to become a marine as well, and dedicated himself to becoming stronger. Vulcan’s father left again, telling Vulcan to become stronger to he could be a great marine. Vulcan eventually went back to fighting, but as more of a crime fighter, attacking thieves and crooked looking guys while he did his mail routes. As he started to get into trouble for being too violent, he developed a silver tongue through experience talking his way out of trouble. A few years later, there was a hostile takeover of the island by a vengeful noble family, who had gathered their own militia through bribery. Without a marine outpost on the island, the Kingdome was in serious risk. The Kingdome’s royal army held them off, but due to a clever trap set up in the castle, many soldiers died in an explosion within the castle. The island was saved when a group of powerful pirates came into town and, seeing the Kingdome in danger, decided to claim the island as their territory. The surprisingly strong crew wiped out the noble family’s militia and stayed in the Kingdome for a few months, during which time they were praised by some and ridiculed by others. They never were thrown out though. Vulcan looked down on them for being pirates, but actually got along very well with them and considered them good people. On his seventeenth birthday, Vulcan’s mother received a letter saying her husband had died in combat, and he had left behind everything he had earned as a marine to Vulcan. The loss of his father made Vulcan want to give up on becoming a marine, and for a while it seemed he was completely lost. The pirate captain took him under his wing, and eventually his resolve came back. He often heard about some treasure called One Piece at the end of the grand line, and sometimes wonders if it might be worth going after. Vulcan often spoke of become a marine and bringing the pirates to jail if they didn’t get to One Piece first, and they asked Vulcan if he would like to join them when they left the island. Vulcan refused, having decided that he needed to make his own destiny. On his eighteenth birthday, Vulcan bought the legendary sword from the smith’s shop and decided to leave to become a marine. He gathered his things and set sail for a marine outpost on a nearby island and enlisted. Currently, Vulcan remains a marine only to become stronger. In truth, he’s decided that he will eventually become a pirate and go after One Piece. His freedom is all that matter anymore, and anyone willing to join him is welcome to do so. Abilities and Possessions Combat: Vulcan is a master freerunner, making use of gymnastic like movements to get form place to place, which is incorporated into his fighting style. He uses his environment to his advantage, launching attacks off walls and poles to throw off an attacker. He also uses his speed to his advantage, using mostly swinging motions such as roundhouse kicks and chops. He hopes to make his own official fighting style in the future. He will sometimes use his grappling hook as a weapon, but not often. Weaponry: Vulcan carries a small iron grappling hook with a foot of rope that he carries on his side. Mostly it’s used as a tool, but sometimes it can be a weapon. Items: A foot of rope, and a pair of black fingerless gloves made of a very durable material.
