Light blue school shoes tapped down against the cobalt tiling of the ground below. The feet to whom they belonged to were that of a fair skinned child with raven black hair. Her strides were small ones that crossed barely a foot with each step. It was the norm of an eight year old. The sun shined down on a small toothy grin, while hazel brown eyes stared at the splendor of the world around her. Balloons wrapped around large cylinders that towered over the many passersby while the smell of funnel cake wafted through the air. The smell was complimented by the lingering scent of many other foods and of course the sea. This was Bausyer Island a land were the term amusement was not just a theme but a lifestyle. The girls steps were graced by those of another, though what walked beside her were not feet, but auburn brown hooves. The creature to whom they belonged to, was not a horse, but rather a dog. Its snout leaned a foot ahead of the rest of its face as it inhaled the concoction of mingling scents. It's antlers pointed to the sky while it's crescent shaped eyes roamed the crowd of people for the source of such tantalizing smells. A small hand rested on its back and slowly stroked at his fur as a means to calm him. He turned and licked at the girls cheek to return the favor which revealed a row of baige hued fangs. They had landed on the isle along with a man named Gin who had quickly dismissed the pair to their own accord. "Your a big girl who can take care of herself." was the last words that she heard from him, before she set off to find another means of transportation. They had walked as far as twenty feet from the dock before they were approached by their first resident. "Hello little girl want to win a prize?" the man was slim, his broad shoulders were covered by a tan brown vest that blended nicely with his long white shirt. "What kind of prize?" the child asked with her still on her pet. The man smiled and leaned down so that their eyes would meet, "Any prize." The thought of winning anything seemed shady to the girl. She had spent the last six months of her life dealing with a con man and theif. That type of thing never bode well for the psyche of a child, and Shini was no exception. "This a trick." she thought quietly, a sign that her niavety had all but faded, but dispite her thoughts she nodded her head and shouted, "Okay" in the most innocent of voices. The man turned around and led the child through a small alley were most of the crowd chose not to travel. "Go in there and I'l start up the machine." the man pointed to two steel doors that sat in the center of a rectangular brick structure. Shini obliged and went in bringing her hooved companion along with her. The door swung open revealing nothing but a dark room with a dust covered machine along the back. The door closed behind them and gave off a loud ringing that echoed through the expanse of the building. A whirring sound went off in the back and suddenly the place became filled with light. A large clown face laid against a glowing green cone with several pink hoops that spread across it. A voice boomed out of a small grey box that sat perched in the top left corner of the room, "This is the funhouse, life is your prize." |

She strode down the streets clad in her burly masculine clothes, the lumberjack flannel shirt, and blue suspenders, the only thing feminine about her was her pants, which were a skinny fit, mostly because mens pants were too baggy for her. She had a confident swagger to herself, arms and chest puffed out in utter confidence. the people turned to look at her as she strode by. Obviously they were admiring her devilishly handsome moustache. In truth they regarded her as one of the carnival acts, what with the facial hair. As she passed by a game the man at the station smirked. his rat like pencil thin and string like moustache twisted about on his upper lip, a sorry excuse for a stash if she ever saw one. "Heeeey there young... lady? Care to win a prize?" He offered as he slunk over towards her. His tone seemed hesitant, as if questioning her true gender. Cheryl stopped in her tracks and turned. Was this gentleman offering her a to test her mettle against his machinations. Surely from the look of him he was of less than reputable cut, a smooth talker no doubt, but being raised as a true gentleman had taught her how to handle such derivative individuals of lesser character. "I dare say good chap a prize? Are you propositioning me with a chance to test my mettle against your scheme in order to prove myself? A challenge like that just calls to be met, name the stakes and the job my good chum and I'll give it a ring." She stated striding over to him and standing before him in a challenging position. He was more rat like up close than she initially partook. His greasy hair was fashioned into an unfortunate comb over, he had the smell of foreign oils and sweat. Rather repugnant an individual. "Uhhh yeah... All you have to do young lady is take this little hammer and hit the target. If you ht it hard enough to launch the little ball up the shoot and ring the bell you win a prize. It only costs a mere 500 belli to play." He explained as he adjusted himself, she seemed a bit odd, then again who was he to judge every sucker that came through. In all honesty the game was rigged in his favor since even the best prizes cost little more than 450 belli so he was bound to make a profit either way. "I say good show old chap, a test of physical fortitude seems right up my alley." She beamed as she took the mallet into her hands and hefted it onto her shoulders. the tool would be heavy for some people but was rather light to the burly young lady. She drew it back over her head and slammed it down hard on the target. There was a residual crack followed by a loud whooshing sound and a clanging crash coming from the top of the game. The ball impacted the bell with enough force to dislodge it and knock it off the top. It fell down and beaned the game host o the head and he fell over to the ground. Poor chap indeed, no stamina, and poor craftsmanship to boot. He was knocked out cold so she didn't quite know what to take as a prize. She settled for retrieving her 500 beli back and called it even. _____________________________________ As she made her way through the crowd she was suddenly stopped by another man of less than convincing stature. he offered her temptations of prizes, any prize she desired. that was certainly a hefty proposal, while she was doubtful that his claims held true the smell of adventure was thick in the air. She nodded in agreement and followed him through several winding alleyways until they came to a large open doorway. "Your prize lays right through there, all you have to do is claim it for yourself." He said in a snakes tongue voice that was rife with false sentimentality and conflicting interests. "Right through this ominously shaped armored doorway you say. This smell like an adventure old bean! I gladly accept your challenge." She commented as she stepped inside. The passageway was dark with only a faint light at the end. as she approached there was a single dingy light bulb illuminating a wall that said push. She pressed against it and found it to give way. She stepped forth into a large room with a singular clown themed machination at the center. there was a small female child there as well, no doubt allured into this game from some other vendor. The wall quickly slammed back into place an there was a locking sound coming from it, clearly the way back was not intended to be taken. "I dare say this smells suspiciously like a trap, are you quite alright young lady?" She asked as she walked over to the young girl a loo of confidence and sincerity on her face. Before anything was to be done she'd need to secure the safety of this young child and possibly locate her parents, after all carnival side shows were no place for an impressionable young girl. The door opened, but the mixture of confusion and shocked had kept her from even thinking to leave the room. She was unsure whether this was part of the game or if the large burly man? behind her was one of the people who were supposed to add life to the attraction. She turned around and inspected the mustached woman. She could tell by the curves and her face that this was most likely not a man, but the mustache made her feel uncomfortable. She turned around and from the sound of her voice her curiosity was finally settled. "Mhm?" she called out in the most timid tone she could muster. She rested her hand on the moose-like creature beside her and allowed it to dangle on the side of it's neck. As it looked at the woman it snarled, "Shh Blinky." she said coaxingly. The room was a small one, and the only thing that stood out was the clown faced machine in the center, it was obvious that this was the main point of this thing. She wasn't sure if she should talk to the woman as the first thing she would bring up would most likely be the suave rug of fur she had dangling preeminently over her upper lip. She turned around in hopes that the woman would not press her further and that the thing, trap or not would start soon. The green cone was glowing with radioactive green tint while the pink hoops around it shifted back from pink to black every few seconds. Blinky was not amused, he whimpered dazed by the lights while his eyes were focused on the machine like a deer would to an incoming car. Shini turned her head toward her pet confused, "Blinky?" she waved her hand, but it had not affect. "Welcome to the funhouse, come one and all, young boys and girls will have a ball. If you ever are to fall, then you have lost this game." The clown head spun in circles chanting this little cadence every time it faced the people in the room. Deciding that the announcement she heard prior was most likely a joke from the man outside she chose to pursue this game rather than leave, after all it was only a clown and what's scary about clowns. She stepped forward only to have a bright white light flash into her eyes. She stood still as if restrained the same way the moosedog had only seconds before. When she recovered from this flash she noticed a distinct shift in her surroundings, she was surrounded by her. The room was no longer a room, but a maze filled with glass mirrors on either side. Millions of her were reflected through the walls and the reflections of reflections made her dizzy. She noticed almost immediately that both her pet and the strapping young lass with the hunky mustache had disappeared and she was left alone in her funhouse of mirrors. |

The young lass made little hinting at her current state, and for the most part seemed to want to try and avoid speaking to her or anything like that. She had the oddest small moose like creature with her. She also seemed drawn to her stylish moustache, not uncommon seeing as it was a fairly handsome one. "Have no fear young Lass I shall see you safely through this perilous predicament, you can count on that!" She proclaimed proudly. The young girls steed seemed frightened of something. As she stepped forward she seemed to go into a trance getting a blank expression on her face as she approached the strange clown like devise that was spouting nonsense about falling, as if someone as manly as her could fall. She stepped forward to see if the girl was alright when the flashing lights caught her eye. Unable to look away she felt everything go lank for a moment before she ound herself in new surroundings. It was a giant room full of white walls, like a maze. Overhead there were numerous lights shining in various directions and depicting shadows on the walls. "Bolly a maze of light and shadows, sounds like the perfect place for a sneak thief to thrive, I best stay on my guard. First I've got to find that poor young girl and make sure shes safe, this is no place for an unaccompanied young lady." She said mostly to reassure herself of her goal. She walked through the maze having no particular idea of where to go or how to go about getting there, but those shadows, it felt like they were trailing her. |

As Cheryl walked through the maze, a completely black figure slipped behind the woman to follow directly behind her, mimicing her every movement. 'Finally!' thought Anna as she continued following the girl, mimicing her every movement, and making sure to always stay behind the mustachiod woman. 'I was wondering when I would finally find someone to play with. A fun house isn't very fun if you're alone, unless it's filled with ice cream, in which case it's tons of fun! Oh, but what if it's filled with mustard?! Or ketchup?! You could roll around in it, and pretend to be a veggidog! But then you would have no bun, and what fun is the veggie dog without a bun?!' Anna nodded mentally at coming to this conclusion. She had been extremely suprised when her last adventure being trapped in a sewer system current had lead her to this place. She had struggled to stay above water for hours before she was finally dumped out in a strange tunnel filled with hearts and floating swan boats, both of them completely covered in black sewer sludge. The two had quickly gotten into one of the boats, and were happily sailing along when a strange man pulled up in the boat next to them telling them about a prize contest. Anna had insisted that they play the game, much to Eva's frustration, but when the man lead them to a big, metal door, all that had been inside was a weird clown head. Anna had tried jumping on the thing, thinking that she had to ride it to get the prize, but then there had been this bright light thing that had apparently teleported her to this new place. She had been wondering for hours before this new mustache person had arrived, and now that the person was here, Anna wanted to make sure that she wasn't left alone again. And what better way to make sure of that than to become the person's shadow?! As Anna continued trailing the person, a breif thought popped up in her head. 'I wonder where Eva is...' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Hissssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss~" Eva hissed in frustration as she bumped into yet another reflection! This was rediculous! How was she supposed to make it out of her like this? Despite the fact that she was fifteen feet long, the mirrors were still too high for her to climb over. She had thought about simply smashing the things to pieces, but a tale Anna once told her about breaking a mirror being a seven year long curse stood firmly in her mind, preventing her from taking the most logical path of action. Eva hissed once more at her reflection, watching briefly as a thousand more of her hissed back. She stared for a moment longer, before she began slithering once again, sticking tight to the wall in hope that staying close to it would mean a better chance at getting out. As she rounded a corner, she noticed something new in the reflections. She looked closer to see that there was now a human girl of some sort standing in the mirrored surfaces. Eva stared warrily at the reflections. If it was someone else lost, then maybe this human could be helpful. But then again, this could also be an enemy of some sort. The snake stared at the reflection longer, swaying back in forth in a hypnotic pattern as she thought, not noticing the thousand other Eva's swaying in rythme with her. |

The mirrors were confusing, she knew it was supposed to be a fun house, but the loss of her pet was unsettling and she could make out a subtle hissing that rang throughout the corridors. She stepped lightly with her head down as she found the countless reflections of herself to be dizzying. With her focus on her feet she had been able to notice the slight swaying that had been around the corner. She hesitated as she raised her head toward the mirrors and watched as she was surrounded by a billion swaying reptiles. An ear splitting scream drowned out the sound of hissing and with a slight bounce she had turned to sprint in the opposite direction. Much to the young girl's chagrin she had taken only three steps before smashing into a copy of herself. Surprisingly the surface hadn't broken but it did vibrate distorting the appearance of the image in front of her. Though her hand was on her head the shaking image appeared to be smiling. Two multicolored eyes stared back at her while she quietly ponded whether to turn around and face the snake or deal with the not so reflective reflection. She decided to deal with neither and sprinted in the direction she had just came there with hopes that the snake would have taken another path or had at least shrunk down to a small enough size to be jumped over. Meanwhile The brutish woman with the fantastical mustache had seemed to have gotten herself into a predicament, though a brave soul, the riddle of the maze was always won through wit and neither brawn nor bravery did much in those aspects. The shadows bounced around her, contorting in ways that didn't seem possible. If these shiftless tendrils of darkness were to have eyes they would be observing from every direction. One of these shadows had done well to mimic her actions, but it seemed odd, the others bent freely while the rest moved around on their own accord. Just like the tale of Peter Pan it seemed these masses of darkness had a will of their own. As Cheryl trailed deeper into the maze she stumbled upon a wall , one much different then all the others, this one was marked with a large number four that boldly stood in the center. The wall had two paths that spread from it, one to the left and the other to the right, but what laid on either path was only up to the woman's decision. |

Cheryls moustache twitched as she wandered down the halls. Something was amiss, she felt the presence of another lurking in the shadows, most likely some fiend attempting to grab her from behind. But she was onto them, she'd give them a good shaking and a box on the collar, that'd learn them fr sure. She stopped for a moment before finally turning around and lunging at the figure that was trailing behind her. She went to grab her by the collar. She was surprised to see she was wearing a smart if not dirty explorers outfit, she was a perk young lass wearing khaki vestments on her top and bottom in the veil of a classical explorer, she seemed to be a girl after her own heart, if only she had the common sense to sport a fanciful moustache as well. "I dare say you rapscallion what reason do you have for creeping in the shadows like a common sneak? Surely one as well dressed as you should know better than to sneak up on people like that. I have half a mind to give you a nice ringing." She stated in a more masculine tone as she shook her gently in waiting for her response. She was so preoccupied that she hardly noticed she was at a fork in the road, or that the darkness surrounding her was shifting about in inky tendrils of which could imply maliciousness not safe for a PG-13 board. She thought she saw something out of the corner of her eye and dropped the girls collar and looked over her shoulder. She whipped around quickly and saw that they had stumbled to a fork. "Blasted shadows and forked paths, this place reeks of ne'er-do-well's shinanigans! SHINANIGANS! Why in my day men were men of honor and valor, and you could purchase a whole barrel of pickles for a nickel!" She spouted going onto some sort of old timey tirade despite being young and the fact that nickles don't exist. It served as a nice distraction from the current situation. She had half a mind to just true and punch through the walls but even that seemed pointless, she might as well ask her new found accomplice for advice. "You seem like an adept at sneakery, this place must be somehow understood to you old chap, perhaps you can lend a recommendation to a proper course of action?" She asked twirling her moustache in her finger to relax herself. She seemed like she would be trustworthy, she had yet to meet anyone wearing so much Khaki who couldn't be trusted. ___________________________________ The young girl and the phallic representation of sin made their way screaming or slithering through the hall of mirrors. Whoever thought t was a good idea to run in a hall of mirrors was surely foolish because no soon had she run in the opposite direction than had she bumped into yet another mirror. This one however had an image of herself being swallowed whole by the snake, which wasn't that difficult it seemed due to the fact she was a child, was it a prophetic foretelling of a future, a nightmare, hallucination, wishful thinking? maybe for the snake but no. The other mirrors began to reflect the slithering snake too. they displayed to the snake the image of it's master in true peril, she was being assaulted by tendrils of darkness and shadow, the source of which was what looked to be a shadowy version of the girl it had just been chasing after. Mirrors it seemed were suited to playing tricks on the mind and fooling those who see them into thinking things that may or may not be true. |

"I'm caught!" cried Anna happily as the mustache person grabbed her. She laughed as the woman started berating her on her sneakiness and continued laughing until the person addresses her directly. She smiled. "First of all, sneaking around is fun!" The girl jumped to her feet, and pressed herself against the wall. "It's like being a ninja, and it helps when you're hunting for treasure so you don't accidentally set of booby traps." Anna paused for a moment. "Then again, you also have to be quite, which Anna doesn't like! Anna like to be loud!!!!" After letting out a loud yell and beating her chest, the girl ran up to stand before the mustache person. She stared at the person for a long time, just staring, not budging an inch. Finally, she reached up to try and pet the person's mustache. "You're pet squirrel is so cute! I wish Eva could sleep on my face, but she likes to sleep on pillows." The girl laughed, before spinning around the person to stand before the fork. "And as for direction, my treasure hunting instincts tell me to go, this way!!!" Anna pointed towards the left. "After all, the 4 is pointing in the direction, and who am I to deny a four?" Anna laughed one more time before spinning in a circle, and dashing down the left path. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiissssssssssssssssssssssssssss~!!!!!!!" Eva stared furiously at the mirror. How dare this little piece of mouse dung try to hurt Anna! She would stop this! This person would not get away with their crimes!!! The fifteen foot boa swiveled her head around, only to be faced with a thousand more of her. This might have stopped her in finding her way out, but it couldn't stop her from hunting down this little pest! She was a snake after all, and not just a snake, but a Boa from Amazon Lily, the kingdom of snakes! She could see just as well as any human thanks to her Amazonian heritage, but as a Boa she had two other methods of tracking prey. The first was infared. She had two pits on either side of her head which allowed see in infared when she needed to. Useful as it was, it had been no help in the maze of mirrors because each mirror seemed to have been the exact same temperature, but her third method would let her find this girl with no problem. She flicked out her toungue, sampling the air. Immidiatly she caught the girl's scent. Scent was putting it mildly, however, since it was more like an exact chemical trace along with just a simple scent. Snakes had senses of smell that most other animals couldn't dream of having. There were many snakes who could hunt by scent alone, but a Boa from Amazon Lily was not one of them. Her scense of smell may not have helped her before because the mirrors all smelled the same so far, but now that she had something living to track, she would have no problem in finding and following the scent trail all the way to the girl. She opened up her heat sensory glads so that she could see the difference in temperature between the mirrors and floor, which would let her follow the floor without any interference from the mirrors that would fool her normal vision. Once everything was broken down to just heat signatures, the path became much clearer to her. She had tried playing the game as normal by not using her other senses, but now that Anna was in danger, play time was over. Using her infared sight and scent tracking abilities, Eva slithered through the maze towards the girl with no issue, following the trail until she arrived to where the girl was. She stood out as a small red and oragne blotch against the blue and black background of Anna's infared vision, making her an easy target. The Boa rose up in the air until she was seven feet above the girl, staring down at her. Although Eva was a vegetarian snake, and would definitly not try to eat this girl, she still thought of her as easy prey. She would be confused by the mirrors, while Eva no longer even saw the reflections. The girl wouldn't know which snake was really lunging at her until Eva's coils were fully wrapped around her. No matter what, she would not let this scrap of skin and bones hurt Anna. With a loud hiss, the Boa lunged to the side of the girl, and began trying to encircle and insnare her within her massive coils. Notes

Shini's eyes opened wide as she witnessed herself being devoured by the snake she had just run from. She looked down shifting her vision from the mirror to the floor, nothing was there, but the mirror still showed her being eaten, she wondered if she was hallucinating. She couldn't come up with a rational explanation, but the thought of being eaten had sent a chill down her spine that rivaled the cold of a blizzard. She slowed down, the mirrors were obviously playing tricks on her, perhaps it was a trick of the light? It may have been able to explain the first image but the snake wrapping it's maw around her body could not be pushed aside by the mere conclusion of light trickery. She turned her back to the mirror and began walking, a distinct hissing filled her ears, it was obvious that the snake was close, the question was how close was she.She had just been out of the belly of a giant snake and she did not want another relapse of such a horrid fate. The slithering serpent had sneaked by her unnoticed, it seemed that the maze of mirrors had several paths and it just happened to take the one that came from behind. It wrapped it's body around her own wrapping tightly against her skin. She winced as she thought of the pet she had just gotten and would soon lose, and the thought of being eaten in one gulp couldn't help but play through her mind. It dawned on her that perhaps the mirrors were warning her and were foretelling things that could happen, but she refused to let the fate of her doppelganger befall herself. Her muscles expanded in seconds her nose had stretched out with her mouth. Her body had been covered in a coarse black and white fur, her ears had risen and taken on a more circular shape. Her eyes were beady and her body had grown at least two feet. She had become a bear, and she doubted a snake could eat a bear. He body stretched out and with it the snake. She looked down at the boa and growled. But her intent was not to hurt the thing, she just wanted to get away. As soon as the gap was made she retracted her body back to her skinny human frame. The gap was enough to get out and it was all she needed. She hopped out the snake skin hoop and began running in hopes that she could get the heck out of this mirrored house and away from the crazy snake. Meanwhile The two set off in the direction that the girl said the bold four had pointed. They went to the left and were met with a all white path, the shadows continued to followed even though the sneak thief had seemed to be caught. They stopped at a door with a number three on the knob and a large crown in the center of it. Laughter oozed from the keyhole and it gave a somewhat joyous feel that contrasted with the blandness of the white world that the two were surrounded by. |

Cheryl raised an eyebrow, her moustache twitched at the young girls antics, aloof, overly cheery, even at having bee caught and grappled. She excitedly exclaimed that being sneaky was necessary when hunting for treasures and not setting off traps. While she knew this to be true, being an avid treasure hunter herself, her personal ideology was to set off and overcome all traps in a display of manliness and bravado. She was quite loud as she exclaimed, but she seemed like a good enough, she certainly had spirit that's for sure. She ran up to her and then just started staring at her face. Finally after a few awkward moments of silence and staring she reached up to pet her moustache. "You're pet squirrel is so cute! I wish Eva could sleep on my face, but she likes to sleep on pillows." "I say you do seem to be a lively little lass then. This fine feather duster on my upper lip is my moustache, all fanciful men must have one. My name is Cheryl Barrel, might I inquire as to who you are my good lady and what exactly an "Eva" is?" Cheryl asked politely in a very gentlemanly tone. She was quite enthusiastic and exuberant, perhaps she was of reliable if not ditsy character after all. "And as for direction, my treasure hunting instincts tell me to go, this way!!! After all, the 4 is pointing in the direction, and who am I to deny a four?" "Your affinity for the silly and otherwise absurd is amusing if not a little flustering young madam None the less I will delegate myself to adhering to your advice on matters of direction." Cheryl chuckled as she followed after her skipper friend who was practically skipping down the hall. They came to a room covered in white. Cheryl couldn't shake the feeling something was amiss, even though she exposed the sneaking force she still felt like the shadows were pursuing them, the hair on the back of her neck stood on end, and not of her own accord this time. They arrived at a door with a crown and a number 3 on it, it seemed positively eerie with the laughter that seemed to emanate from the keyhole, if it was locked however they'd have no way to open it, ad with the ever creeping shadws from behind they may not be able to go back the way they came. "I do ay my good lady we do seem to be in a bit of a pickle here. Hopefully this door isn't locked or I should say we are proper stuck." Cheryl said as she decided to gamble her luck and test trying to open the door. Her hand grasped the knob and turned hoping it would give way and open up a passage for them. _____________________________________________ With Eva's prey somehow escaping the snakes tight grip she'd be too focused on ignoring the mirrors to see their messages they were trying to convey. However as Shini ran away she'd see that the mirrors were showing something different now, that same snake, which was a slightly darker he that it was before in the mirror, was constricting and in the process of consuming her newfound beloved pet moose dog thing. That fiendish serpent might be trying to devour her whole world, or perhaps it was another trick. She'd find that the path she took led to a dead end, an ended hallway of mirrors, and with the snake no longer distracted or confused by the mirrors even with her speed she'd have difficulty shaking her pursuer. All the while coming up from high overhead was a faint laughter emanating from the cloud of darkness that seemed to bubble and hang over the top of these giant mirror that seemed to stretch on forever. |

"So, can I play with Mustache later?" asked Anna, smiling. Thisman was fun. And he had a pet squirrel named mustache too! "And Eva is my companion. She's awesome! Though she can be a bit of a stick in the mud sometimes. She likes to wear fancy hats, and absolutely loves tea! We were together when we got here, but we got seperated after a big clown turned into a tornado." Anna stopped her spinning around as they got to a big door with a key hole and a crown. She looked at the three on the door. "Now I think we should go this way!" she said pointing to a wall that the three was pointing at. She immediatly jumped in that direction, slamming straight into the side wall face first. She fell back flat on her rump, before laughing again. "That was fun! Now we just need to do it two more times, and we'll have gone left three times just like the 3 lays to do." And with that Anna slammed into the wall a second time, fell flat on her rump again, laughed, and then jumped into the wall for the third time in a row. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eva hissed in suprise as the small girl began to grow in her grip. The snake was only more suprised as she not only got bigger, but actually changed species! She was a panda! Before Eva could react, the tiny girl changed back, and slipped out of her coils to start running agin. Eva turned to watch her, frustrated with herself for letting her go. This was no ordinary little girl. If she was to stop such a creature from hurting Anna, she was going to need to go by a different strategy. With a hiss, she began following the girl once again, slower this time. She tracked the vile girl to a dead end. She pecked around the corner to see the girl's heat signature down the hallway. The Boa thought. Although she no longer saw them as reflective surfaces, she did know that the blue-black rectangles she saw were mirrors. Mirros meant reflections, and reflections meant that the girl could probably already see thousands of her surrounding her even when she was this far away. The snake decided to take advantage of that. She stared at the mirror directly across from her, and began moving in a side to side motion meant to make it look like she was traveling down hallways. Eventually, she rose up, and began hissing, her mouth wide showing her fangs. She made menacing, predatorial faces , and lashed out, striking quickly and then withdrawing, bobbing and weaving as if she were fighting an imaginary opponent. She continued waiting at the entrance to the path that lead to the dead end. If her trick worked, the girl would think that she was right there in the room, not sure of which one was actually her lashing out. She might try to fight a mirror, hurting herself, or maybe even pass out in panic. Yet the only thing Eva waited for the girl to try and get back out the way she came so she, the real her, could pounce on the vile girl in a suprise attack, and disable her before she could fight back. The walls blurred stretching and blending into a mixed haze of different colors. The reflections of her and the reflections of the illusions were hazed out by her sprint. She did not think to stop, it had never crossed her mind. She rushed forward only to regret her lack of thought as glass shards and sharp pains shot through her body like bullets. A thin trickle of blood poured from her head while silver fragments glittered against her skin. She landed on her but and heard the crunching of the shards beneath her, the funhouse had become a hellhouse and sadly she was trapped in it. She slowly reached for the shard and dislodged it. Luckily it had only gone skin deep. She got up and looked at the shattered mirror she had run into. The flickering image of a dancing boa lunging at her pet replayed in a rhythmic fashion as if it were a movie on repeat. She sat shocked and slowly lifted herself off the ground. Perhaps it wasn’t real and maybe it was but either way she knew she would have to rescue her pet. She was far to hurt to run, the sting of glass against her skin was enough to make her want to just sit there till the nightmare came to an end, but her moosedog thing needed her. That was enough motivation to send the girl to her feet. She eased her hand out to the mirror to the left of her and used it as support, she turned and noticed the dancing boa had been around her, it lunged and hissed much like it had in the broken one, though these mirrors revealed only one animal and not two. She raised her brow at this truly confused, even if it were an illusion it left her to question where here pet actually was. The pain kept her from making an effort to avoid the snake after all she was sure the creature was probably lunging at her reflection. With her hand against the glass she slowly hobbled her way through the mirror laced corridor. A distinct laughter ricocheted against the mirrors causing each one to vibrate. The laughter drowned out the pounding sound that was coming from behind one of the walls. She looked around at the shaking mirrors and the dancing snakes and sighed, “I’m getting out of here.” she groaned as she continued walking back the way she had run. The mirror that the snake was putting a show on in front of was cracking from behind. Thin splits cut through the silvers of her reflection, the crack grew exponentially. And in a large pound a hole was made dispersing a blast of glass and wood. Meanwhile The wall had cracked on the third slam of the girls body, it left a thin hole that was the size of a child. As the hole was made the door opened, whether the wall slamming girls intuition was actually on point or if it was just the mustached girls turn was undetermined. The door opened revealing a large grass field with several chairs and a long table in the center of it. On the chairs sat some very peculiar creatures a man in a red vest with a black heart on his forehead, a large man with a long neck and a curved head that resembled a lampshade, and a brown mooselike creature that seemed scrunched inside of a chair with a glass glued to it's hoove. The man with the hear on his head smiled at the newcomers but remained silent only through waving his hand toward the group did he show any other sign that the couple were invited to come in. |

Cheryl was thrown off by this girls level of silliness, and her affection for her moustache, perhaps she'd have to try and teach her to grow one later. Her companion sounded interesting, anyone who could appreciate fancy head wear was good in her book. While she usually dressed in rugged clothing and apparel it was always appropriate for special occasions to dress in properly fanciful attire for special occasions such as a smashing gala or box social. "I say it is always smashing to meet someone who appreciates the sophistication and fanciness of a good moustache. Perhaps later we can try and have you grow one of your own if you are so inclined as to enjoying mine." Cheyl explained intending to assist the girl in enjoying the many benefits imbued when one embraces the upper lip fur. As Cheryl was testing the handle the silly girl had brought it upon herself to repeatedly slam herself against the wall thrice times until it finally gave way. The room revealed a grassy field where a tea party of sorts was being held. There were 2 oddly shaped men and some sort of moose like dog thing. This whole situation struck Cheryl as a bit creepy but she was never one to turn down a tea party. Being beckoned to come forth she grabbed the young lass by the hand and led her in, after all she seemed a bit ditsy so it might be best if she gave her a little bit of guidance, it was the gentlemanly thing to do after all. "Come along miss, we've been invited to a tea party, stick close to me just in case. It would be most unfortunate if these folks turned out to be of shadier character and wished us harm." Cheryl explained as she walked forward guiding her along by the hand. She certainly hoped they were friendly, she had her fill of oddball rouges today. __________________________________ As the glass broke from her heated charge she found that in it's place was a room, a blank room full of white walls, floors, and ceiling. In the center of which there was a pedistool on top of which was a single red button. Indeed it seemed that every broken mirror revealed this room, of which there were several by now with all the rambunctious activity going on. What this button did who knew, but at least it was a way out of this maze of mirrors. |

"But I wanna stare at the stars!" Anna tripped along beside Captain Squirrel as she stared at the numerous stars currently swirling about her head. They were so pretty! And she could see all the constellations too! And planets, and the sun, and there was even a cute pink ball person flying by on top of one of the stars. The pink ball person waved at Anna, and Anna waved back, smiling. Such a cute pink ball. The stars began to fade from Anna's vision, much to her dismay, but was replaced by a field full of grass and people with weird heads. There was a table in the middle of the field, but Anna only briefly payed attention to it, as she noticed the hand holding hers. She looked down to see mustache man holding her hand and gasped as she quickly withdrew her hand. "Sir!" she shouted. "And here I thought you were a gentleman!" The eccentric girl turned around dramatically holding her hand. "Holding a lady's hand without her permission. Have you no shame! This is the hand I promised to my fiance! I told him that never would I hold this the hand of another man. But you!" She turned around pointing a finger at the mustached man. "You have soiled my hand! Now, how will he ever love me again?!" The girl collapsed dramatically to the ground, holding the hand above her head, before bringing it down to her face. "My marriage is ruined!!!" she cried out before dropping her face to the ground sobbing dramatically into her arm. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eva stared curiously at the shattered mirror before her. She knew for a fact that she wasn't scary enough to make a mirror shatter on its own like that. She stared at the black and blue blobs in the room through her infared eyes, not really seeing anything other than shapes. She was tempted to investigate, but she had a mission. She had to keep this girl from hurting Anna as the mirrors had said. The snake waited still for the girl to pass by. She had to come out some time, and when she did, Eva would be ready for her. |

The laughter shook the room like an earthquake causing not just one, but many mirrors to crack in the process. What was going on was anyone's guess, but Shini had no clue. Her resolve to escape had only been reinforced by the shady laughter that sounded in the background. She stepped lightly well aware that running would only serve for her to smash into glass again, though she had broken the first glass she was sure that this was not her fault. The place was weird and her prior attempts at finding the way out had been guided by the mirrors, with the shards shattering into several triangular pieces she could not use the same method twice. Her hands remained at her sides and her eyes were focused on her feet, perhaps if she ignored the glass she could see the path itself. With her head tilted down toward her feet the girl was oblivious to that large boa snake in front of her, it had been waiting for her specifically and she had no clue why it would do such a thing. The thought that the animal had been seeing strange things in the mirror had never crossed her mind, she just assumed the snake would eat her because it was hungry. As she stepped forward she noticed the glistening of scales against the white floor below her, "Oops." she exclaimed as her foot pressed down against a section of the pet's body. She was sure it would be angry. Meanwhile... The duo had entered into the looking glass and there was no turning back, the funhouse seemed to be a mixture of mirrors and gardens, but whether either of them was meant to be fun was a good question. As the two entered the room the figure smiled and lifted his cup of tea toward his mouth, he took a brief sip and placed it above his head as a cheers toward the moose creature. The moose let out a moo, perhaps it now believed it was a cow. The animal had a blue bonnet wrapped around it's head and the bulk of it's body was extending on to the table, though it lacked any tea it nodded it's head at the black things gesture. A large woman sat at the end of the table with a black and red dress that seemed more suited for an extravagant affair then for a tea party. She lifted her head up toward the newcomers and a bold frown seemed painted on her face, "You there." she called out in a voice that oozed of regality. "You two are the jesters are you not? I am not amused." the woman raised her cup from the table and began to sip her tea, her pinky extended as soon as the porcelain hit her lips. She gently lowered the cup on the table and raised her finger to her nose, "Tell us jokes or something, marriage is a sacred affair and should not be gaffed at." |
