Mars had sent two secret messages to Kyte and Jin, he used the homeless contacts developed over the past few weeks to do it. One man had stood out, Taylor Durbin, a bum with a personality. His craziness had at first obscured his brilliance, but when he was tasked with things, he was surprisingly efficient at finishing them. Another skill Taylor had was letters, which many of the other bums did not. And lastly, Taylor was very much into fighting the power, which was a very important trait. Taylor's literacy came in handy when Mars needed to dictate the messages, Mars didn't want his handwriting on them. Mars had hoped the fact that Kyte or Jin hadn't seen him in over two weeks, would make them unable to guess it was Mars who sent them. The letters themselves went as follows:
Taylor loved this espionage stuff, and he could score plenty of Beli, too. Taylor had given up on being useful in life a long time ago, until he had met Mars. He hoped to put his life of drunkenly fighting random strangers behind him. And the odd jobs given to him were a good way of avoiding temptation. One of the jobs assigned to Taylor was delivering the letters. He had decided to stalk both Jin and Kyte before he gave them the messages. Due to his bum-like appearance, it was a simple for him to just hang out on a random street corner. When he was comfortable with his casing he just slid the letters under the door of wherever they were sleeping at night. He may have switched them up, but at the very least he managed to deliver them on time. On the sixth day, Taylor Durbin stood at the corner of Fifth and Sengoku. His beard was still unshaven and he was generally dirty, but he had put on his Sunday best. This consisted of a wife-beater with no holes and a minimal amount of light colored stains, and a saggy pair of jeans with a string holding them up. To most, he just looked like the average 30 something homeless man, lanky but muscular. But, if one looked closely, you could tell he was much more alert than the normal layabout. Specifically, he kept an eye out for Kyte and Jin, he had memorized their appearances by now. A small bag with some of his possessions lay next to Taylor. At his other side was a dog who had started to follow Taylor after he had started to eat better. Taylor had named him Paunchy. The dog had a flea problem and his hide was not in the best of shape, but he was muscular and still rather large for a street dog. Paunchy lay on his haunches, he diligently looked out at the crowd like his companion, but didn't really know why he did it. |

Kyte looked up from the note, thinking. As shown before, he could be really intelligent when he wanted to, and was very efficient at it. Although, that didn't apply all the time...nonetheless, he was thinking. So Mars and Jin were pirates. Could Samantha have been one? He thought for a second, and then thought no. It was highly unlikely. Although, it would seem that Samantha lusted for the same freedom he did... Kyte nodded. This was his chance to join a pirate crew. His chance to make his way to the top. To do that, he needed an ancient sword, not this petty one left to him by his parents. He nodded once more. He was going to make it to the top, and all hell upon whoever got in his way. A pirate crew was a good idea, ever since he had read about Hawkeye Mihawk and Roronoa Zoro. They were the best of the best, and had left their legacies behind for others to take. He was going to be the one to claim it. Kyte analyzed the letter carefully, looking at everything written on it and committing it to memory. He then burned it. He walked across the hall to the makeshift room they had made for Jin, and he knocked on it. Knowing he was the only other recipient of the letter, he should already know the situation. When he was let in, he discussed the situation with Jin, and they both agreed to go. They also discussed using Samantha's help for the job, and they reluctantly agreed that she should go as well. The only thing left is whether she would go or not. Kyte discussed it with Samantha in private and told her she had six days to do so, and that if she wanted to go, to simply meet them on the corner of 5th and Sengoku by sunset. If she did not wish to participate, she would simply wait home. He sharpened his katana and got it ready. He was there on the sixth day on the corner of 5th and Sengoku, waiting for Samantha and Jin to arrive. It was almost the time of sunset, the sky turning a brilliant orange for a few minutes while it descended. Kyte looked around for the man that was supposed to meet him. Of course, this was useless, for he did not know what the man looked like. He sighed lightly and reached inside his coat, adjusting his katana a bit. He did not think it was illegal to carry a weapon in the streets, but he still felt a bit odd about it. |

Spoiler: click to toggle Taylor had succesfully delivered the letter to Kyte, though the wrong one and was on his way to delivering Jin's. Taylor Durbin walked up to Jin and handed him a letter. Jin looked at the homeless and gave him an inconspicous nod, as the transaction was made. The letter was given and they had parted. Not much words were needed to be spoken, Jin had assumed the letter had the needed information. Jin would need to be isolated from any rats around or any government dogs that could be spying on people. Loguetown was a huge town and it was very active, day or night. Jin never knew what he could expect out of this city, especially after the past weeks of doing business with his new comrades. Jin had learned to respect his acquaintances, but also started to gain a friendship with some. Mars and Kyte being one of them. They were still at a mutual friendship, though not as close. It seemed only time could create a relationship between people Jin did not trust. The male read through the letter and smirked. He wasn't sure who this Brian fellow was, but it seemed this letter was from Mars. Jin couldn't be hundrend-percent sure, but the fact that they had separated for the time being could mean Mars. Jin assumed that Mars would later meet up with them for this mission or what not. Jin just decided to take upon this deal and get out of this town. Jin felt he was here for too long and if he was here any longer, their pirating days would not even start. Jin slightly remembered the drunken encoutner with Mars and how they talked about being pirates. Maybe Mars was finally making his move to become a crew. "Basically a test to see if we're fit to be pirates," Jin thought to himself. There wasn't much to do except discuss this with Kyte and Sam. *** Days passed and the sun slowly started to merge into the horizon. It was the day for their long awaited mission and Jin had parted with them earlier. He had to take upon a small backpack to carry his medical supplies and he had finally found one. It was a nice, compact, yet roomy backpack. It could carry all the necessary medical supplies he needed. Jin was ready for tonights adventure and hoped that he could make it out of this alive, as a pirate on top of it. He met at the rendenzvous location and saw that there was a homeless man with a giant mutt. It seemed they were close friends as they both watched out into the streets. Recognizing the dirty and homeless features of the man, he started to walk over to them. Paunchy started to growl as he saw an unknown scent approach his new master. Taylor Burden hushed his canine, recognizing Jin as one of the people for this mission. Taylor Burden also spotted Kyte and whistled, putting two fingers on the insides of his mouth. The dog copied his master and attempted to call out towards Kyte, but only responded with barkings toward Kyte. It would surely catch his attention. Taylor wanted to start out by all getting together. Once Kyte had seen them and arrived on their corner, he started to speak up. "Come on guys, I'll tell you guys all about what we need to do when we get to the alley," Taylor Burden explained, as they started to walk over to the nearby ally. The alley was located between a pharmacy and a bakery. "Paunchy guard the alley for any spies or eaves droppers," Taylor ordered his canine companion, who happily ran over to the entrance of the alley. "Where's your third partner? I was told that there should be three of you?" Taylor asked, wondering if they could do it without an extra person. Jin followed behind Paunchy and Taylor. He walked over closer to the alley looking out on the streets for Samantha. Jin listened to the homeless man speak about what they would have to do. He was not very descriptive and simply explained it as a drug heist. They were basically playing cops and robbers, except they were going to steal all the loot. So more or less it was pirates and drug smugglers. "Hey what do you have in that bag?" the curious bum asked. "I'm an herbalist, or doctor, so my medical supplies, but how do we get underground to this place?' Jin asked the informant. He believed that what they were going to do was more important than what he had. "We go through this sewer hole," Taylor replied, pointing to a metal circular object that was half opened on the ground. "We have a deadline until tomorrow morning, so we're only going to wait for a little longer for your teammate," the bum explained, as he found a comfortable spot next to a trash can and leaned against it. Taylor was used to the dirty surroundings and almost every quiet place he could get was home. Edited by DJ-Killa, May 10 2010, 07:45 PM.

Kyte was looking for them. Where the hell could they b- He heard a barking dog. How annoying. He then heard a whistle. It sounded like it was supposed to grab attention. He looked around and saw Jin there. Feeling stupidly awkward, he walked over. He nodded to Jin and then looked at the homeless man, receiving his instructions. "Come on guys, I'll tell you guys all about what we need to do when we get to the alley." Kyte nodded, walking with Jin down the alley. It would seem Samantha was going to be late. No matter; they could tell her the situation if and when she arrived. "Paunchy guard the alley for any spies or eaves droppers." Kyte nodded. Probably a good idea. He did not think a dog incapable of doing such; they had been doing so since ancient times. Dogs guarded camps of men against wolves. Besides, one of those spies or eavesdroppers may have very well been Samantha. "Where's your third partner? I was told that there should be three of you?" He grinned a bit. "She's running a bit late. I'm sure she'll be here in no time." Well, he said he was sure, but he was just really hoping so. The man continued on to explain that it was a drug heist. Kyte had no problem with crime as long as he kept moving forward. The man kept trying to explain it, but he realized after the first couple of sentences that the man was basically just saying the same sentence over and over again, but in a way as to make you think that he was describing the mission. Meaning he wasn't telling you the things you needed to know. He blinked. So...it was a drug heist, it was a drug heist, it was a drug heist? He laughed a bit, but not in such a way as to insult the man in front of him. The man felt similar to Mars. "Okay, sounds good how do we get underground to this place?" Jin asked. Good. Jin was at least asking sensible questions, Kyte thought as he shook his head grinning slightly. "We go through this sewer hole." The man responded. Kyte frowned at this, and looked at his pants. He didn't want them to get ruined...eh, whatever. He had bought almost ten pairs of the same brand. It might have been crazy, but the storekeeper seemed to have no problem with it. Each one of them had a masculine flower design on different pant legs; it just depended on the pair of pants itself. Oh well. "We have a deadline until tomorrow morning, so we're only going to wait for a little longer for your teammate." Kyte nodded. "So I'm to assume we're commencing this heist today? Also, I'm sure she'll be here in a bit. Is there anything else you can tell us about the mission? If she arrives late, we can just tell her when she catches up." Kyte stretched a bit while awaiting his answer. He really did want to take Samantha, her skills could prove quite useful. Spoiler: click to toggle

Taylor Durbin yawned and slowly got up from his resting place. It would seem as if he had just slept for the past five minutes. He stretched from side to side, and cracked his knuckles. He then grabbed his magic bag (basically just a backpack with supplies) and pulled out three pairs of boots. The boots would speak for themselves when they went into the muck filled sewers. He tossed each pair of boots to Jin and Kyte. "Alright we're going to have to just go without her," the bum said, putting on boots himself. The main thing you could notice was his feet were terribly dirty. Taylor was an odd man, he seemed to keep himself in great shape, yet did not care for his hygeine. "Paunchy," he said, followed with a whistle to the dog. The canine quickly came towards his master and obeyed patiently sitting there. "I'll lead the way, I know the basic sewer outline, and if we get lost hopefully Paunchy can help lead the way," Taylor said, forgetting how awful the sewer would smell to a normal person. Taylor Durben shouldered his backpack and pushed aside the sewer cover. He jumped into the sewer, causing bunch of muck and other defiled waste to splash around him. He signaled for the others to come down. Paunchy sat behind Kyte and Jin waiting for them to go down first. The bum started to nonchalantly walk towards one end of the sewer. The sewers were big enough for people to conveniently walk through, if it weren't for the transportation for waste. Taylor had used to live here, but got kicked out by a bunch of thugs who were transporting their drugs. Now it was time for his revenge! Taylor felt it was lucky of him to have people helping him out for no reason. But it was mere coincidence the man paying him as an informant was getting his home back too. Jin looked at Taylor, and didn't give him much attention. In a sense, Jin just felt a little awkward working together with a bum. Though, he didn't really mind since people were still people. It just felt weird that whoever was recruiting them, Mars or stranger, would go through such measures. Well, it showed an amount of committment and dedication to whoever was organizing all of this. The Kilah male didn't really mind the fact that Samantha wasn't coming along. He felt it would be safer for the young female to not travel with older men. Hell, if Jin had a daughter he would never let her travel with weird men that she barely knew. Jin shrugged off the fact she wasn't coming and catched a pair of boots from Taylor. He put the footwear on and checked his footing. Jin made sure his backpack was on his back and secured. The male looked down into the hole and could smell the foul stench. This was going to be horrible. He had wished the gas-masked Angel of Death guy could have came here instead of him. Jin just shook his head in disappointment, and simply jumped into the hole. He saw the disgusting liquids splash all over the place and moved out of the way for Kyte. Jin looked over to one end to see that Taylor Durben was already walking couple yards ahead. Jin wondered why Taylor was going ahead of the group and quickly followed behind. He knew Kyte and Paunchy would catch up. "Lets go," his voice echoed down the sewer. Jin looked over to Taylor who had stopped now to wait for the others. "C'mon! We gotta go!" the bum's deep voice could be heard slowly fading away. |

Kyte sighed. It would seem that Samantha wasn't going to join them. Still, he thought she could just be coming late. "Alright we're going to have to just go without her." Kyte looked down. He didn't want to leave her behind, but they did have a deadline. He would leave a sign for her to know they were here. While the man was pulling out the boots, he began to write a letter, telling her what they were doing and to enter the sewer hole after them. He got another pair of boots from the man and placed them on top of the manhole covering. He then took out his ancestral knife, and stabbed it into the side of the alley wall through the note he wrote. It actually dug in easily. Getting a questioning stare from Jin, one that said "How in the hell are you going to keep others from reading that?", he pulled out some paint he got from Samantha's house, and drew a fearsome gang symbol on the wall around it. It meant that if anyone chose to disturb it, the gang would be on them. He had seen this sign around usually, but no one had known that the gang was disbanded. He also put one at the entrance to the alleyway to signify no one should even get close to the dagger. He then took off his shoes, putting them in the secondary pack on his back that he carried for regular stuff, and tied up his pair of boots and jumped down the hole. He didn't feel good about leaving his dagger behind, especially where someone could take it, but he included on the note for her to return the dagger to him when she came. "Paunchy.", the man said, whistling, signifying him to follow Kyte down the hole. "I'll lead the way, I know the basic sewer outline, and if we get lost hopefully Paunchy can help lead the way." Kyte blinked. Was that supposed to reassure them? He laughed a bit silently as he followed. "Let's go.", Jin said from up ahead. It would seem the bum was going on ahead. Odd...he followed Jin and easily caught up to him. He heard Paunchy splash into the sewers and catch up to Kyte. He walked along, following Jin easily. "C'mon! We gotta go!" He heard the bum shout from up ahead. Weird. It felt they were being unnecessarily rushed, but Kyte quickly shrugged that off. If there was a problem, he would deal with it. |

Taylor Durben whistled a simple tune while walking through the disgusting sewage filth. There was definitely not a lot of things to enjoy while traveling through a pipeline of crap. There was literally feces in the sewage and it seemed only Taylor didn't mind the smell, or the filth in general. "Alright, lets wait here, I need to rest up, and who knows maybe your friend could be coming" the bum suggested, digging in his magic bag. He took out a clear plastic bag with cookies in it. It looked like bone shaped cookies and Taylor tossed one at Paunchy. The canine hastily chewed it up and barked in gratitude. The more odd thing was when Taylor dug in and took one of the dog cookies. It probably wasn't good for humans to eat dog food, but if the bum was eating them then it couldn't be so bad. Jin kept on walking behind Taylor Durben who seemed to have been rushing things. The male watched Taylor as he stopped everyone and wanted to take some rests. It seemed the Taylor person was very awkward, rushing things one moment and then slowing things down. All Jin could tell was that Taylor was either born with a deficiency or he just lost something in the head over the years. He just stopped and watched as Taylor started snacking on dog food with his big pet. The pirate male would have loved to eat if it wasn't for the disgusting smell that would make the food taste awful. He just stood there and checked in his bag to make sure that he had everything. "So where is this little smuggling company?" Jin asked. "It's a little more up ahead, we're going to be encountering them real sooon~~!" Durben replied to Jin, popping another bone biscuit in his mouth. Suddenly, Paunchy started to bark towards the direction they were headed. Paunchy started to run off and Taylor Durben quickly followed after his pet. The other male, Jin, looked confused as the two suddenly started to run off. He assumed that the canine smelled someone or something and was chasing after it. The Kilah male sighed, as he started off too, following after the two that were supposed to guide them. Jin could be seen waving over to Kyte telling him to hurry up. He kept on running and it was when they reached a fork in the pipe. There were two different ways and he wasn't sure which way the bum had gone. He looked around and heard some ruckus from the left sewer line, and followed. It wasn't long before he reached Durben who was petting his dog. The dog looked frightened and Taylor seemed to try to find out what was happening. Jin started to walk more ahead to see why the dog had stopped. It was then he saw dark-red eyes and a scaly looking beast. It was huge and seemed to have a tail that swung back and forth. It seem to growl and Jin took a step back. It seemed he had run into some kind of monster and Jin was not a monster-exterminator. He did not sign up to deal with oversized beasts and decided to run back. "DAMMIT! A LIZARD MONSTER!" Jin could be heard yelling, as he dashed down the sewer line back to the fork. "NEW ROUTE, TAYLOR!" the Kilah male yelled out. It was pure reaction from seeing a monster twice your size in a dark sewer. Jin was not about to die in a sewer by some anonymous baest. Taylor Durben and Paunchy quickly followed behind Jin, who took a turn into the other pipe line they SHOULD have taken. Edited by DJ-Killa, Apr 29 2010, 11:39 AM.

Kyte walked along the sewer. Though he was wearing thick boots, with no holes in them, he tried not to walk into any...uhm...feces as he went along. It wasn't long before the bum came to a stop. "Alright, lets wait here, I need to rest up, and who knows maybe your friend could be coming." Kyte nodded. He sure hoped so. However, he did not rest. Though they were not in a rush, be that as it may, there was no way in a bloody, rat ridden, frozen over hell that he was going to sit and rest in a feces contaminated rat hole. The bum started feeding his dog. Kyte couldn't help but notice that the bum was also eating the dog biscuits. His eye twitched. Just because you could eat them didn't mean they were good for you...but what choice did the man have? Kyte was surprised the man was able to afford boots, let alone dog treats. Kyte had an ominous feeling though...as if something was lurking in the darkness. Kyte adjusted his katana. No matter. If there was something lurking, he would cut it to ribbons. Kyte had been raised on Malertia in generally dark buildings, with lots of undercrofts and basements. He spent a lot of time outside, but there was no light to guide him when it got dark, so he made a good habit of coming "home" quickly. As such, he was a bit adjusted to the dark by a young age, and could see clearer than most people. He most definitely could not, however, see in the dark like a cat. That would take an extreme amount of training... "So where is this little smuggling company?" Jin asked. Kyte laughed a bit. God forbid Kyte ask any intelligent questions. He just went with the flow, he guessed. "It's a little more up ahead, we're going to be encountering them real sooon~~!" Kyte blinked. There was something peculiar about the way he said that...no matter. It was a weird way to say it, though...Kyte looked down the tunnel they just came. He was half hoping Amanda would come into view, but that was not happening. He then heard some shouting. Confused, he looked at where his companions used to be, in which...they were not there anymore. He laughed silently and walked after them. It would appear the puppy had ran off to a different part of the tunnel and the bum was following him. Jin was following the bum. Follow the leader, I guess. Kyte thought. He walked along the tunnel, he could hear the barking from the tunnels, so no need to rush. It would appear the barking stopped after a bit. As he was turning around the last corner, he saw something horrendous. It looked like a cross between a lizard and a man, and it had glowing red eyes. That, was needless to say, very bad. Before it could see him, he got back behind the corner. Jin and the bum didn't see him, and it was then Jin pointed out the obvious. "DAMMIT! A LIZARD MONSTER!" He exclaimed as he ran past Kyte in the tunnel with the bum. Kyte slowly drew his katana from its sheath. As they ran past in the tunnel, he heard what he should hear: pursuit by the creature. He heard its feet splashing through the tunnel. Using his hearing, he measured how fast it should be going. Due to all of the feces in the tunnel, the lizard wouldn't be able to smell him. As the lizard ran past, he quickly whipped around the corner and swung his blade. He heard a slight wet sound as his blade passed through the creature's neck, cleanly severing the lizard's head. He felt something warm on his face, but he soon forgot it. The lizard's head went rolling a bit, while the body remained standing, the neck spraying blood as it finally fell. "Jin." He called into the tunnel. When Jin returned, he would find the lizardman corpse and the head, and he'd see blood on Kyte's face. Kyte mustered a grin, but his eyes had the look of the devil, almost as if he enjoyed it. The kind of scary, playful look. "I don't suppose...you have a napkin?" He inquired, smiling slightly. |

Taylor Durben, Jin and Paunchy walked over back through the disgusting sewer to where Kyte was. Taylor looked at the corpse and head, "Good job there buddy, but looks like you killed a man in a costume," he said, ripping the 'lizard face' off of the head. He had heard about the rumors of the lizard man and had encountered the 'real' one. Well, that day was a huge blurr and a lot happened. Taylor Durben kicked over the corpse and kept on walking. He decided to forget about the fake lizard man and continue onto where his old home was. Taylor knew where the drug smuggling was taking place because they had taken his home for the route. He kept on walking guiding the trio, and canine, through the sewers. Jin looked down at the lizard man before leaving. He looked at the decapitated body and he noticed something. There was a piece of paper sticking out of the lizard's scales. Jin bent down over and pulled the piece of paper out. It was actually scales that blended in to make a pocket. He checked the pocket for anything else and found a small bag of red power. "Huh... I think I saw this somewhere before," he said to himself. Jin looked at the paper, "Fake Lizard Man's Paper" Jin looked at the paper and finished reading it. He handed it over to Kyte to read it. The Kilah male examined the red powder, it was the drug that they were going to pirate. The dead man dressed up as a lizard monster was hallucinating and really thought he was the lizard man. He sighed at the stupidity of the man doing drugs by himself in the sewer. Jin waved over to Kyte to hurry up, as he trudged through the sludge. Well, at least he knew that they were on the right way towards the smuggling company. As Jin walked through the sludge, he did not see Taylor or Paunchy around. He wondered where the pair had gone off to and kept on walking forward. Soon, as they reached the end of that sewer pipeline, he heard some barking. It was then he could see Paunchy running towards them barking loudly. "What's wrong, dog?' Jin asked the dog casually. It wasn't long before Paunchy took off in the same direction he had come from. "I think Taylor might be in trouble," he said to Kyte, before following the dog. He kept on following the dog until they had turned a corner and Taylor was waiting for them with a lit lantern. It was disgusting but he was sitting against the walls of the sewer. At least, he had a lantern that provided some light now and they weren't walking in complete darkness. Taylor looked at Jin and Kyte, "I've been waiting for you two, where did you kids go off to?" he asked rhetorically. "Well anyways, this is where it all starts a little more down and the smuggling area will be found," Taylor Durben said, as he started to tread through the toxic waste. They all walked together through the sludge when they came across a man in a business suit. He wore the same suit as the businessman Jin had seen on the 'Albatross'. They were probably all of the same company smuggling drugs or what not. The businessman was talking with a thug with a gas masked on. The mask was to defend against the disgusting smell from the sewer. The thugs worked hours on end in the sewers and needed some sort of defense against the smell. The surprise on the businessman face was priceless, as he took off dashing through the muck. "Hey! I saw a guy just like him on some ship weeks ago, he can help us!" Jin suggested to his mates. But the gas-mask thug wouldn't go down without a fight. He stood there picking up a bat that laid against the sewage. Jin looked at him and then looked over to Kyte. Jin did not expect him to be strong, but then again who would know? The large dog then started to run after the gas masked male. It seemed the dog was viciously attacking the thug, who decided to smack the canine with the bat. The dog could be heard whimpering before starting to growl and become even more menacing. Kyte stood there as his companions strolled back. He waited for his napkin. "Good job there buddy, but looks like you killed a man in a costume." The bum said. Kyte looked down. "Hm." He guessed the man was here at the wrong place and a very wrong time. He swung his blade to the side to clean it of any blood and stray tissue, slid it along the scabbard, and sheathed it. He saw Jin pull the note and red bag from the pocket of the man he killed. "Huh... I think I saw this somewhere before." Jin said. "Let me see the note." Kyte said. He read it thoroughly. "Hm...so they have the lizard man on guard to keep intruders out...very intelligent. But this part here...'You will be given a couple grams of our product, maybe that will make it durable'...let me see that bag." Kyte examined the bag. "Just as I suspected...it's the same drug that Mars was intoxicated with. This is, obviously, an absolute sign that we're getting close." After his evaluation, he tore open the bag and dumped it into the water below them. "Well, let's get moving, shall we?" He and Jin then noticed that the bum and Paunchy had gone on ahead. He and Jin caught up with the puppy later on in the tunnel. It looked worried. "What's wrong, dog?" Paunchy barked twice and ran off in the direction he came. Kyte blinked. Jin confirmed his suspicions. "I think Taylor might be in trouble." Kyte blinked and nodded and ran ahead with Jin. This was the first time he had heard the bum's name. They came to a dark spot in the tunnel, which Kyte and Jin turned a corner and saw Taylor there with a lantern. "I've been waiting for you two, where did you kids go off to? Well anyways, this is where it all starts a little more down and the smuggling area will be found." Kyte was relieved that he was ok. They'd never find their way down here without him. They walked down the tunnel, and then saw a man in a business suit. Kyte looked at him peculiarly, but he was not as strange as the man next to him. The man next to him was wearing a gasmask. Kyte almost asked if the man's name was Vincent, since they looked so much alike. But this man was not Vincent. They were noticed and the man in the suit ran off into the tunnel. The man started picking up a baseball bat. "Hey! I saw a guy just like him on some ship weeks ago, he can help us!" Jin said. Paunchy was barking rather loudly. The man, showing he had a cruel heart, promptly whacked it with the bat. How cruel. Kyte drew his sword and approached the man, not showing a hint of fear. "You call that a weapon?" He swung the katana down on the man's left shoulder. If the man attempted to block, the katana would slice through the bat and continue onwards, slashing the man's shoulder. |

The had thug charged in the tight quarters, there was only enough space for two people abreast, and even then, there wasn't much space. The thugs had hung some gas lanterns from the tops of some of the tunnels, that they worked in. The lanterns cast a sickly yellow glow on the entire scene, their lights were sent swinging, when the thug ran past them. When Paunchy got hit, this compelled Taylor to join the fray, a pipe had found itself in his hand, after it had sifted through his stuff. "Kill em' and dump them with the dead cops!" The business man shouted through his mask. He disappeared around a dark corner. The thug let Kyte's sword go through his bat, he held it in a position one might hold a spear at the ready. Once it had been cut at an angle, he used it to thrust at Kyte's belly, it was now a weapon capable of piercing. As this occurred, Taylor madly rushed up to the thug. He attempted to swing his bat at the thug's face. Taylor was an undisciplined fighter, and in his rage and the tight quarters, the arc of his weapon would intersect with not just the thug's face, but also Kyte's shoulder, right before that. |

Jin watched as Kyte slashed through the thug's bat, but failing to do any serious injury to the thug. Jin decided that he shouldn't join the fight, since they were pretty crowded in the sewer. The male simply stood there in the muck, watching the fight ready to help out. He saw Paunchy lying on the ground, against the cold metal sewer wall. The canine was hit pretty hard by the bat and it would seem he was serious hurt. The doctor offshoot decided to help the dog out, and see what kind of attack he took. He walked over to the dog and kneeled slightly, making sure not to touch the waste on the ground. Holding the lantern that Taylor had put down to rumble, Jin started to examine the injury of the dog. "It seems Paunchy took a strong blunt trauma," Jin muttered to himself, as the dog started to get back up. Jin silently applauded the dog's committment and will to keep going on. He hadn't seen an animal this dedicated to helping out his master. Meanwhile, Taylor Durben's pulled back his pipe and got ready to attack again. Whether, he hit Kyte or not, Taylor was in a mad furry from having his only pet friend attacked. The thug slowly backed up watching both of his opponents as they came closer. Taylor rushed in relentlessly, swinging back and forth. Anger could be seen in his eyes, as he put in all of his efforts to beat the thug up. The thug could only back up and defend hismelf. But it wasn't long before a clean swing hit the thug on the side of his face. It knocked him over and he could be seen his face hitting the muck. The disgusting brown and green liquid splashed around him as he fell. It was then running and barking could be heard, Paunchy could be seen running up on top of the thug and scratching him. Paunchy kept on scratching and tearing up the mans clothes before running over to his owner. Taylor and Paunchy seemed to like frollicing in the sewer, as the dog pushed Taylor over and mingled on the ground. Jin followed behind them, and looked over to Kyte. "They are a weird pair, aren't they?" he spoke to his partner. Jin didn't really look at them and simply stood there quiet. It seemed like he was trying to listen attentively to somethign or look at something in the dark, dim-litted sewers. Soon after a couple of seconds, he heard footsteps in watet. People were coming down the sewers and once the figures came into the light, Jin shook his head. He sighed heavily seeing that there were at least a good half dozen of the thugs with gas masks now. They would come through the sewers in pairs, only two people able to fit through at a time. Taylor and Paunchy's happiness was short lived when they realized that there were more thugs. It seemed things were getting a lot tougher and Taylor seemed to start losing hope. He had not realized that there were so many of the thugs. But Taylor's hopes shot right back up, when he saw that Paunchy still seemed determined. The canine seemed like he was looking for revenge, as he started to growl at the thugs. The thugs were wearing the same gas masks of black color. One wore a dark green, red and black one. He held a large axe, and stood in the back. He seemed to command the group, telling his thugs what to do. His underlings were equipped with knives, bats, and hollow pipes. |

Kyte had a problem. He had just been nearly impaled by a baseball bat. Ok. Approaching them directly. Bad idea. Luckily, he had not sliced the bat at the angle the thug had wanted him to. He had struck directly in the center of it, just shaving off a hunk and leaving a blunt side. It was certainly not enough to be impaled from. Kyte got hit in the shoulder by a pipe. He clutched his shoulder in pain, but the pipe knocked out the guard. "Huh...nice job, Taylor." "They are a weird pair, aren't they?" Kyte laughed and nodded his head in agreement. The dog knew advanced commands, and they did have a weird relationship. But it was not in his place to judge. He looked at the guard. That could have been a fatal blow. He then listened. Jin had noticed too. There were more on their way. A similar guard appeared carrying a rather large axe. That...was bad. Kyte looked at his katana. Heh. He'd be damned if that was going to cut it. He quickly retrieved his sword, running past Jin and then turning around. The group had a whole arsenal of weapons. Kyte then got a serious look. "Jin, I leave it to you. Flight, or fight?" Nevertheless, he got his katana ready. Edited by Kyte Uchiha, May 4 2010, 04:27 PM.

The pirate stood there beside Kyte, "Is your arm okay?" he asked curious about Taylor's friendly fire. He kept staring at the thugs in masks as they started to slowly reach the point where they would meet. It seemed Paunchy and Taylor Durben were behind them and they would have no room to fit and fight. It was an advantage for them, since they were outnumbered. There were about five of them who were coming, they came forward in pairs of two and the leader in the back. The male stood there as he just watched them approaching. The pirate could be seen suddenly growing a tail, his white hair getting thicker with black streaks in them. It was an odd sight for he never really showed off his Devil Fruit. He always liked keeping the Devil Fruit a secret, because he loved surprising people with his powers. He was glad that the sewer was dimly lit, because he would be less noticeably a monkey in his hybrid form. "I'll get the one on the left with the knife, you get the one on the right," Jin suggested looking at the thugs running at them. One of them knocked over a hanging lantern and it would seem there was a black hole in the middle of the sewer. The one section of the sewer was dark with barely any light, because the lanterns were too spaced out. Getting into his Kilah fighting stance, but this time in a more crouched stance. He put his hands forward ready to meet in combat with the thug. "Kilah Iron Stance!" Jin said, as his front heel stopped bobbing up and down. He was in a more solid position, it was the stance Jin claimed that could not be moved. Taylor Durben stood there beside his dog, about a couple of feet behind the two other men. "Where'd that guy put the lantern?" the homeless asked his canine companion. They went on their knees in the filthy sewers and started to feel around the walls and floors. They wanted to find the lantern and sure enough Taylor's efforts pulled off. He found the lantern knocked over with no light. The homeless dug in his bag for some matches or a lighter that he could have on him. He found a match and struggled to light up the lantern. The match constantly would die out too early from a light breeze that came in from the direction they were heading. The light breeze only carried the smell more, but it also meant they were probably headed towards an exit or entrance. Paunchy looked at the newly arrived men, as Taylor finally lit up the lantern. He held it up and the two groups of fighters would glare at each other. They were ready to fight. The first pair of thugs came up to them and started the fray. The thug facing Jin tried to stab at the elusive monkey. At the same time, Jin would strike at the thugs arms to disable him first off. Jin could feel the tip of the knife cut his upper arm as he missed the thug with his palm. The thug went for a wide arc swing, Jin ducked in time for it and the knife would come swing towards Kyte. The thug would then continue to swing at his partner next to him if Kyte did not dodge it. The partner had a hollow pipe with a rusted end. It would certainly give someone tetanus if they were hit hard enough with it. The thug weilding the pipe tried to twist the rusty pipe and shave off Kyte's skin. Jin kept dodging the random shanks and stabs the thug would throw at him. It wasn't much exchanges before Jin connected a palm to the thug's stomach causing him to collapse on the sewer ground. Jin asked how his arm was feeling. Kyte scoffed. It wasn't to insult Jin, it was to shrug it off. "Please, I've had much worse." Kyte saw that Jin had chosen "fight". Kyte shrugged absentmindedly. That's what he would've chosen. They backed into a tunnel, which made an advantage. They were outnumbered five to four, and two of those four could barely fight. Them fighting was not only a danger to their enemies but a danger to themselves. The thugs took out a lantern. Kyte's eyes adjusted quickly. He could see the dim outlines of the thugs. He also saw what looked like a tail coming from Jin. He blinked, and sighed heavily, but quietly. It was time. Taylor had lit the torch as Kyte was reaching into the compartment on his back. The thugs were now too close for comfort. Kyte made Paunchy and Taylor back up, so he could have room if needed. He was more of a wild fighter, and sometimes needed space. He was forming the fish bone in his pack into a dart, which he had skill with. He only had five though, and would prefer to retrieve them once he was done. If Jin was using a Devil Fruit, then it was no sense of cowardice to use his own. Jin suggested that himself would take the man on the left, while Kyte took the man on the right. That was suitable, since they were on those respective sides. Kyte had his katana at the ready in his left hand. He preferred to use his right, but his left hand was just as deadly. He saw the man had a rusted pipe. Fuck, Kyte thought. He was in no mood for dealing with tetanus. It would seem that the thug had sharpened it, too. Just great. The man Jin was assigned to was slashing a knife wildly, with no real skill, it seemed. It slashed on its course to Jin, but also was heading towards Kyte. Cunning bastard... He thought. Since the thug was on his left, Kyte held up the katana and let the dagger glance off of it. It created a few sparks as it went, but the katana made a nick in the knife, not the other way around. Kyte pushed it off; whether the man dropped it or not Kyte did not have time to pay attention to. For, at that moment, the man with the pipe had lunged with the pipe at him. Kyte grinned almost demonically. Just as planned. He stepped back , dodging the spear-like pipe since the man wasn't continuously running forward, and launched the dart at the man. It would hit him in a place in the neck that once pierced, even if it was taken out afterwards, would cause the man to stop in place, stunned. The man would then start bleeding from his nose, ears, and eyes simultaneously, until he died. Since the man had lunged forward, he would have no way to avoid this. Kyte looked at the other men. There were four more, and he really did not want to run into that man with the axe. He wondered what the man behind the man he had just incapacitated had. He wanted to look at Paunchy and Taylor, to see what they were doing, but didn't dare lose sight of the men ahead of them. They were too crafty and low to turn one's back on. He got ready with his katana, putting his hand back in the bag of bones again. He wanted to be ready. He really shouldn't have left his knife all the way back at the entrance. It was safe and sound, but it was good for dual fighting. He kept his focus ahead, ready for anything. OOC: No one should notice the bone dart, at most they should only notice that it is just a dart. And I think I should've gotten the thug...>.> |
