After walking for a couple of minutes, the group finally arrived at Sam's house near the marine base. As soon as Sam knocked on the door, Vincent heard a man's voice and as soon as the door opened, her father called out happily, "Oh Sam! you're home! We were afraid that maybe you had..." he paused, seeing Sams arm, "Oh my god! Honey! Are you okay!? What happened!? Anna! Come here quick! Sammy lost an arm!" Vincent smiled at the man's frantic exclamations. Sure they might be a bit excessive, but it meant that they loved her and did not want anything bad to happen to her. "WHAT?!" Vincent heard a female voice call out on the top of her lungs. "Oh god Sam! Are you alright!? Who are these men!?" followed by, "Well don't just stand out there in the rain boys, come on in. Is there anything I could get you all for saving my little girl?" after Sam explained to her parents who they were. Before Vincent could introduce himself, Mars stepped in and said, "It was my pleasure, mam, you may call me Gerard. But I should have you know, you have raised your daughter to be fine young woman, she handled herself as true hero, today. I did little but help her get back. And as for your thanks, a quick bath would be far too much to ask for," and kissed the woman's hand. "Damn that Mars," Vincent though, "stealing my idea and getting friendly with the mother." "Wait up," the voice suddenly exclaimed,"look on the walls, they must be Marines." "And?" Vincent asked quizzically. "Did you forget," the voice answered angrily,"we're wanted for destruction of property and arson, of course it was accidental, but I doubt Marines care much." "Good thing you wore a hood and not the mask when you got the apartments, so they shouldn't be able to recognize you." "Fine, fine," Vincent said with annoyance, "calm your horses, I'll just speak with an accent and give them a false name." "Bonjour Monsieur and Madame Kio, my name iz Dr. Francois Bordeaux, a pleasure to meet you," Vincent said courteously and bowed. "Thank you for helping Sam, and even taking her home, if there's anything at all we can do for you, feel free to ask," the dad addressed the four men. "All I ask iz a place to sleep," Vincent said as Mars walked off with the mother into the bathroom. "That bastard," Vincent thought, "going off alone with the mother, that lucky bastard." Vincent walked towards a chair and plumped down on it, making sure to keep his weapons hidden behind his back. Taking out a bottle of rum, he lifted his mask just enough for the bottle to reach his mouth and took several sips before placing the bottle back into the bag. "Hmm, that girl being a cyborg, they must have some interesting stuff here," Vincent thought as he sneaked out of the room and further into the house. |

"Alright guys, feel free to make yourselves at home. This is **** and ****, my parents." Sam addressed the random group that had followed her home, there was a hint of angst in her voice at the last part. She made sure to keep her back to her parents, she didn't want them to worry them about the cut on her back. She sort of slid across the foyer to the stairs, and limped up them. Walking into her room she got some dry clothes, which had been left neatly folded on her bed. She stepped into the upstairs bathroom to change. She peeled her wet clothes off and tossed them to random corners of the bathroom. "MOM!! What is there to eat!?" She shouted through the door. Her mother was in the bathroom with Mars and didn't hear her. Her father walked over to the stairs. "We have leftover spaghetti in the fridge." Sam's father used as close to an inside voice as he could. In the bathroom, Sam turned in front of the mirror to take a look at her wound. The salves Jin had applied seemed to have stopped the bleeding. With a fresh shirt on, it wouldn't be that noticeable under the bandages. After she was changed, she walked out and looked for Vincent, she was sure she could fix her own arm, but it might go faster with an assistant. The assistants she had hired before from amongst her peers, didn't tend to last long. Maybe the strange man would prove more useful. "Well, I can probably find some clothes to fit you guys, before we can dry yours tomorrow. I would really appreciate it if you watched the floors." Sam's father addressed the others. He left up the stairs to go get some fitting clothes. Notes

Jin could be seen sitting on one of the sacks that were empty. He had laid out all of his medical supplies, some papers and other unimportant things. He kept his beli inside the other sack, so that no one would know how much money he was carrying. He sorted out everything, putting the random loot back to the bottom of the sack. Jin had a box of different plants and other herbs sorted out. He had a medical kit with different medical tools for surgery, if it was necessary, and different salves and ointments. He also had a basic medical kit which had the basic first aid kit that anyone could use without much medical knowledge. The Kilah male couldn't help but chuckle, as he watched a bunch of people enter a stranger's home. Jin did not get a weird vibe off the new guys or Samantha, but he just didn't feel trustworthy of them. Jin wanted to get off this island already, he was tired of it and wanted to go sailing. He was a pirate now, technically with Mars. And them being in a Marine house, did not make him feel at ease. Mars had run off with Sam's mother somewhere, plotting some devious scheme. Jin just shook his head slightly, laughing a little bit. Jin was keeping himself occupied by observing the people around him. And sometimes the things they did made him laugh. Jin felt easiness knowing that his new acquaintances were not that stupid and had common sense. They knew well enough to see that in a marine house, it would not be a great idea to give out names. The male simply smirked, but it was not long before his nonchalant expression returned. He found a couch and put the organized sack next to his feet. "Wonder what Mars is doing," Jin said, out loud leaving the question in the air. He wondered if the father would notice that his wife was in a different room with a complete male stranger. "So... Luke," Jin said, waving his hand towards the couch. The male wanted to talk to Kyte, since Jin had heard he wanted to be a pirate. "So you want to be a sailor? Jin asked quietly, putting a small emphasis on the sailor implying he meant the exact opposite. |

Inside the spacious and immaculately clean wash room, Sam's mother smiled and turned to the door. Her face was a little redder than it had been. Before she left, she turned around and said, still with a smile on her face. "We have might a couch you can sleep on." She looked him up and down with a pleased look on her face, before she left Mars with some privacy and shut the door behind her. He wasn't pleased to see her leave, but he enjoyed watching her go. It would be simple enough to get her back in later. And he had things to examine, anyways. He quickly tossed the wet cloak with the rapier bundled inside onto the white tiled floor. He took the box he had hid with him and braced it against the side of the tub. He put all his weight on it, and tried to break it open. It looked nailed far too tightly to cut open with his rapier, being designed for thrusting, not chopping. After several aborted attempts, Mars felt the wood start to give way. Before he could stop the downward motion, the small box decided to crack in two. The action of cracking it open also tore some of the interior layers of wrapping. The rest of the un-torn package fell into the tub. It looked like it had been tightly stored, in several different layers of materials. He reached into the steaming water and retrieved the package. The tub itself was also full, he took the opportunity to turn it off. Mars took off the rest of his outfit off and tossed it to the side. Before he dipped into the tub, he checked to make sure the door was locked. He took the rapier, letter, and package and placed it on a copper tray above the tub. As he soaped, he ripped open the message and folded it open. It read:
The knowledge that Basilisk was being tracked disturbed him greatly. Especially so, considering the lengths which he had gone to in order to remain undetected. Also strange was that he did not know any Brian. Despite the fact that it was written in an Anolian dialect, it wasn't a name common to the island. That didn't change the fact that this was definitely written by a member of The Barcelona Boys, the revolutionary group Basilisk had been a part of on Anolecrab. In spite of the disturbing aspects of the message, it comforted Basilisk to know that people were still making an effort to stay in touch with him. Part of the terms of his exile was that he was not to communicate with anyone on the island, even family. This in turn, focused his thoughts on his father. Before he started to shed tears, he shut them out and started shampooing his hair. Basilisk dipped his hands in the water, and then took the tip of his weapon and dug it into the package. Inside was a fluffy red powder, it looked like spices his mom used to keep in her kitchen. He held it close to his nose and took a whiff, it didn't really have much smell. He dabbed some on his pinky, and put some on the tip of his tongue. It gave off a biting sensation, but no flavor, either. Considering it was a spice company employee he had stolen it from, he found it rather odd. He would have to take it to someone more experienced in foodstuffs. At the very least, it must have some worth, considering the pains taken to hide it. Basilisk dipped his head in the water and rubbed the shampoo off of it. When he resurfaced he heard footsteps outside the door. How is everything in there? Sam's mother checked up on him. It was time to play his cards. "I can't seem to find any towels." Basilisk silently slid out of the tub and and crept over to the door, he left a trail of water behind him. Thoroughly soaked with glistening skin, his trap was set. He unlocked the door to the steamy washroom. The plan was heavily modified by a voice that shouted out behind him. "SON!! Why have you stopped painting!?" It was the booming voice of Basilisk's angry father. His dead, angry father. His head was sticking out of the water in the tub. The spice he had inhaled and tasted was no spice at all, but the 'Red Bout', an illicit hallucinogenic substance that had recently become popular in Loguetown. He was used to hallucinating, but under extreme circumstances of not sleeping for several days. If hadn't been for this acclimatization, he would of probably started sobbing in a ball on the floor. |

Vincent walked through the house looking left and right at different Marine memorabilia that lay throughout the house. "It's like walking through a lion's den," Vincent muttered. "Just don't do anything stupid that might attract attention to yourself," the voice reminded Vincent sternly. "Don't worry," Vincent waved his hand absentmindedly, knocking over a vase that stood on a shelf. But before it hit the ground, Vincent managed to catch it, just barely. "Good going shithead," the voice cursed at Vincent. "Hey, I caught it, so no damage done," Vincent responded, clearly annoyed. As he rounded the corner, Vincent saw Sam's mother coming out of the steaming bathroom and heading in the opposite direction from Vincent. "That lucky bastard," he said in a low voice. Then, as silently as he could, Vincent followed the mother to wherever she was going. After going down several hallways, Vincent finally came up on a door that was slightly ajar and there was a light on in the room as well. "Hehehe, this must be the bedroom," Vincent chuckled to himself as he crept closer to the room and glanced in. Vincent's heart skipped a beat when he saw Sam's mother changing inside the room. "You perverted bastard," the voice berated him. "Oh shut up," Vincent responded in his head, "it's not like you're not enjoying the show as well." "Oh shit," Vincent said as he glanced back and saw the mother, already changed into a dress, coming out of the room. Vincent immediately dashed towards the first corner away from the way the came and made it just in time as the mother opened the door and headed back towards the main group of people. Vincent decided to look for the machine shop that Sam must of had since she was a cyborg. After taking several wrong turns, Vincent finally arrived at the machine shop. "This must be heaven," Vincent said as he sank to his knees as he looked around the shop. Everywhere he looked, there were all sorts of different machine parts and lots of different kinds of tools as well. After several minutes in shock, Vincent finally got and went to further examine the machine shop. After some time examining the shop, Vincent decided to head back to the group. On his way back, he came upon Sam's mother standing in-front of the bathroom with it's door open and Mars standing there. "Eh, whatever, he's not that big" Vincent muttered to himself as he continued towards the living room. |

Kyte was having a good time at the house. Well, better. Suddenly, the man known as Jin asked a question. "Wonder what Mars is doing..." He said. Kyte scoffed a bit. Did men not know that large breasts really aren't everything? Jin then directed a question to him. Well...if by him, Kyte meant the man now known as Luke. "So, Luke...so you want to be a sailor?" Kyte caught the note of emphasis in his voice. Even though they were talking at a low level, it still wasn't a good idea to speak of his plans aloud. Kyte was glad Jin was intelligent, or at least acted like it. "Yes, I want to be a sailor. I like the concept of sailors and the overall good they do. Of course, some sailors aren't as good as people think, but you get the point, right?" Kyte found himself thinking why he wanted to be the best swordsman in the world. Why not best navigator? Why not best chef? The answer, was of course, simple. This is what he wanted to do. With that thought in mind, and the one of only moving forward, he stopped questioning himself. To be the best, beat the best. That makes you the best. It's simple logic, one that had been around since the beginning of time. When the father wasn't looking, Kyte picked up a bullet casing and threw it in the hallway, where the man in the gasmask was snooping around. When the man faced him to see who threw it, he looked at him in such a way that said stop snooping around the house, dumbass. You're giving off suspicious vibes. He then returned to his conversation with Jin. "Anyways, I still feel now is not the right time to be talking of my sailor plans. What about you?" Kyte looked at Jin. He didn't expect an answer, the man was the silent type, but it was polite to give one. |

Samantha headed back down in a change of clothes, a tank-top and shorts, her usual pajamas. The house was in a more prosperous section of town, so there were many useful things from the modern world. Lights, refrigerators, heated water, gas stoves, the works. She looked around for Vincent and saw him entering the hall from the direction of her machine shop. She went down to him, ignoring Jin and Kyte, grabbing him by the shirt. "This way Mr.Scientist, we got work to do on my arm. And I want a flamethrower too." She said casually as she started to pull him to the machine shop. "And you work on my arm and nothing else, don't you dare look at the rooms around it." To tell the truth, inside her machine shop was a converted storage closet that she used as her shrine to an old inventor and carpenter called Franky. He only lived a 100 years ago, but still from the stories she read he was amazing, and he was the one who gave her the idea to become a cyborg in the first place. "Oh yeah and dad, spaghetti sounds good." Anna, Samantha's mom looked at Mars, the door open and him completely nude in front of her and looking back to the tub, looking frightened. "Um... is there uh... something wrong? Gerard?" She said with a motherly tone, a blush on her face as she saw Mars' manhood. (conveniently blocked off from the pictures view if this was an anime or manga) Samantha came through with Vincent in tow, getting a brief look inside, giving a sigh. "Yaknow what?... I don't even wanna know..." She said, continuing onward and trying hard not to give it another thought. She laid down on the workbench, her shorts and tank-top showed enough of her arms and legs that it would be easy to work without getting naked in front of a stranger. As the procedure goes on, Samantha would help give Vincent instructions and information about her cyborg body and the tools that were used. |

Jin looked at Kyte as he came over to the couch. The male sat there as he watched everyone run off in different directions. It seemed that Mars had gone somewhere, probably to somehow seduce Samantha's mother. The gas-mask wearing stranger ran off somewhere, and Jin didn't really care. It wasn't his house and the more chaos they made, the better off he was. It meant that Jin would be less bothered by their antics, unless the crazy things they did were directed to him. But Jin's cold front he put up, was cold enough for people not to bother him. It was more or less, he didn't talk, unless he had something to say to someone else. But as time went on Jin could feel himself gaining small amount of trust and some kind of friendship developing. It was obvious time would bring people, who spent some kind of time with each other, together. "Sailors a tough job, there are pirates that possibly will chase you around, it's a rollercoaster of a life," he explained, as he smiled slightly. It was in a way amusing talking in a manner that seemed secretive. Jin watched the father who was walking away from them, but he seemed to be eavesdropping. "Mr. Father, what is your occupation?" Jin asked an obvious question. But the father replied with a murmur before disappearing towards the hallway. "He probably realized that his wife ran off with a strange man," Jin suggested, though not intentionally calling his Captain strange. "I plan on being a sailor, why don't you join me?" he said, offering a position to Kyte. Sure Jin wasn't the first mate, but knowing Mars he seemed more of the 'go-with-the-flow' type. And Jin felt from the previous location that they were at, Mars didn't really consider themselves pirate. But technically they were, and Jin decided to take it upon himself to ask him to join the crew. Samantha was already basically a part of their crew, going through a dangerous sinking ship with Mars and knowing about their pirateering. |

"Sailors a tough job, there are pirates that possibly will chase you around, it's a rollercoaster of a life." Kyte nodded slightly. But he could handle it. "If any pirates try to come after me, I'll knock them flat, and maybe take their head." Kyte made sure that the father or mother was not around to hear him say Kyte'd take a head. "Mr. Father, what is your occupation?" Jin said. Kyte leaned forward. He wanted to hear this; surely a cyborg's parents' professions would be interesting. The father just walked to the hallway with a slight mumble at the question. Kyte blinked. Did he just...ignore them? Well, so much for that. "He probably realized that his wife ran off with a strange man." Jin suggested. Kyte nodded his head and laughed. That was probably the case. "I plan on being a sailor, why don't you join me?" Jin said. Knowing that Samantha's father was out of the room, he turned to Jin and said, in a low tone just in case, "Who's captain?" Kyte didn't want to be so picky, but he wanted intel on the crew before joining. Plus, he wasn't expecting Jin to be a pirate. Jin struck him as the type of man that would be the exact opposite of a pirate. Then again, it explained why he knew so much about pirates. Kyte took a look around. He picked up a soda off the table, which the mother had left there, and sipped it. It felt weird, trying to conceal the fact that you wanted to be a pirate. You could be arrested for just saying a few words...what an inconsiderate age they lived in. His eyes then flicked to his katana, which he left in a corner amongst Marine katanas, to keep it safe and hidden. He wondered how long they would be here. |

When Anna opened the door with a fresh towel, she found Basilisk lying on the floor. She dropped the towel and obscured Basilisk's armament from the gathering crowd. His rapier hidden under his cloak and lying at a funny angle, it was simple to assume it was unsheathed and ready for battle. And any warrior would be proud to have a weapon as his, fully ready for impaling those who crossed him. What wasn't noticeable underneath the cloth, was that Basilisk was not even in the battling mood. The hallucination and the water had only shrunk his desire to battle, to size never seen before. And like most fearsome and prodigious rapiers, it practically bent under it's own weight when he fully extended it in a duel. Obscured from the gathered audience in the folds of his cloak, it was hard to tell he didn't have piratical or even revolutionary intentions, at the moment. The peeping toms would have to wait to be so lucky as to be graced by the presence of Mars' awesome swinging sword. Unfortunately Basilisk didn't see things this way. He saw many armadillos gunning for him. There was one standing by the door, one had just come by, and another had peeked in. His mortal nemesis, the armadillo, had come to find him, even in Loguetown. "No you're dead!" Basilisk reasoned with the specter of his father. He shut the door behind him and locked it. "No. I am your Father's spirit." Basilisk's father responded. "No! No! No!!!" Basilisk shouted at him, he tried to wipe the realism of the illusion from his eyes. This only caused his father to raise from the water to his full height and extend his hand. He was clad in the Condotierre's armor. "Basilisk, you can avenge me! I have foreseen this. I am doomed to walk this earth until this sin is wiped!" The dread vision shouted back. Basilisk also rose and charged at the ghost. He managed to slip on the wet floor and with a heavy thud whacked his head against the floor. Before he was knocked unconscious he heard his father say. "Once Pinocio is dead, then I may rest, released." Basilisk then dreamt dark dreams, full of the people who had been responsible for his father's death. Basilisk lay there and muttered, only semi-conscious. "No, I've started a new life." |

Kyte looked to Jin to see if he heard the same commotion he was hearing coming from the hallway. Kyte then immediately jumped up, heading to the bathroom. He lightly and gently pushed Samantha's mother aside, and tried to open the door. He found that it was locked. He sighed. It would be rude to kick the door down. He decided that Mars would be fine and returned to the couch. "So what now?" He asked Jin. He had survived the first day in Loguetown and was on his way to becoming a pirate. It would seem his goals were coming together. Kyte again looked to the katana leaning against the wall. Someday... "Come to think of it...where did Samantha and Vincent go?" He asked. He hadn't seen them around the house, except for that time he saw Vincent in the hallway, and was beginning to wonder. Whatever Mars was doing, he hoped it didn't get them in trouble. That would be bad. They were in a marine house, which Kyte still wasn't getting any good vibes from. |

Jin looked at Kyte with his usual nonchalant face and felt a good vibe from him. It seemed that the male who waned to be a pirate wanted to be in a good crew. A crew that did not indulge in selfish and greed. Well, the looting of beli and other valuables from pirates that stole it wasn’t really considered bad. It was more of a returning the favor, karma type of ordeal that happened amongst any kind of pirate, good or bad. The herbalist looked at stealing amongst each other was fine and other petty crimes that did not concern the nosy marines. Jin looked at friendship and family in a crew and he expected the same from his crew. He wanted to be able to trust his crew. Gerard,” Jin barely muttered under his breath for Kyte to hear. The male felt that he had gained some trust for Kyte and maybe he was someone that could be part of the crew. He didn’t know what he could do, but Kyte could be a help in the medical field also. Jin had witnessed Kyte attempting to help Samantha and that was a kind act. It wasn’t intentional to show off, but a genuine good deed. Jin had to get to know Kyte a little better and he would feel comfortable to sail with him. Jin heard thumping or some kind of thrashing in the hallways where Mars was bathing or what not. He simply looked over to it and shrugged off whatever was going on. He expected more or less that Mars was making a move on Samantha’s mother. The pirate did not care for his captain’s act and ignored it. He would have to escape, hopefully, in the morning and not during the night. He wanted a nice, warm sleep tonight before he would sail off into the ocean. Maybe with a couple of new friends. Jin replied to his company, ”I think we sleep and hopefully we can leave peacefully in the morning,” the herbalist explained. ”If anything goes wrong we can just escape,” Jin told the other male. It wouldn’t be hard to escape through Loguetown in the dark, and in the rain. The only hard part would be escaping into the treacherous sea. The only good thing about sailing out into a storm would be that Marines wouldn’t chase you down. Only one with great fortune would be able to survive a harsh storm so close to the entrance of the Grand Line. ”Just try to get some rest, it’s getting quiet,” he responded to Kyte. Jin didn’t care where Samantha and Vincent had gone. They were probably taking care of the cyborg parts. Vincent seemed attracted to the cyborg girl. Since Samantha needed repairing, it would be the best idea for her to get his help for the mechanical limbs. Jin’s flowing thoughts started to slow down. He found his spot on the couch as he started to fall asleep, with his sack of his belongings under his resting legs. Jin thought to himself, ”I’ll try to stay half awake in case anything happens.” It wasn’t long before Jin’s eyes became droopy and they closed. |

Basilisk rolled over on the floor and used his cloak as a blanket for the rest of the night. Inside his own head, he was back in Anolecrab. He was walking through the evening countryside, a route very familiar, it led to his home. It was strange, he felt as if he was out of place at home. He wasn't supposed to be there. A crowd outside the Vespertine house had gathered. He walked through them, no one seemed to notice his presence. It felt exasperating, he could clearly see the back of his own head, his tangled brown hair should have given him away. He caught a particular conversation, it magnified until he could hear it clearly. The cluster was speaking about his imprisonment. Basilisk walked further, if he spoke with his family, they would probably notice him. He got to the white stucco walls that surrounded the modest country home. His sister was there, Nepomuceno, she waited by the entrance, half gate-keeper, half waiting for Papa Vespertine to make his appearance. "What's with the crowd?" Basilisk inquired towards his sister, and pointed his thumb over shoulder at them. "Basie! You're back!" Nepo embraced him unexpectedly. Basilisk embraced her back, half-assed, as one does when surprised by a sudden hug. It was strange, he didn't actually remember coming back home. He was pretty sure he had been off the island, with no intention of returning. He was fuzzy on the details though. "Let me get mom and dad, Ambrose is here too!" Nepo continued and then ran towards the house. "Right behind you." Basilisk said after her, and continued to walk towards his abode. Nepo left the door open behind her. Basilisk looked back at the crowd and just saw them waiting, it was probably alright to leave them alone. When he turned back, he heard a shriek that could only be his mother. His sister's voice joined her, also agitated. He rushed forward, past the front door's frame. Ambrosia Gorgonzola appeared from the kitchen, she looked as alarmed as he felt. He noticed his childhood friend had added some new tattoos, or maybe they had been replaced. One in particular struck him. It looked like two fists, that had broken a chain that had cuffed them. "What the hell was that?" Ambrose asked. "I don't know, sounds like it came from upstairs." Basilisk responded and bounded towards the stairs. He took them up, two at a time. Before he turned into the room the wail had come from, he shouted. "No need to fuss over me that much!" He turned the corner and saw his mother and sister huddled over his father. Blood covered the floor, it had already seeped into the floorboards. His father's killer was nowhere to be seen. He stopped dead in his tracks, he only moved slightly to the side as Ambrose came in. - Basilisk mumbled in his cloak, the nightmare affirmed his past, the one he had never experienced. It had been constructed by the events he had heard about from prison, that had lead to his father's death. It also affirmed his future, even the one off the island. He was to be constructed into a Martian. |

Just a few things to add... -The delightful Hooded Man named Sam was nice enough to pay the lady four times her usual food budget! Sadly, they weren't lady sized portions. (Single person upkeep X 4) -The medication and stuff revolving around Samantha, mainly spoken about by Kyte just seems very... modern. The technology curve of OP is very weird, I understand. But the way Kyte went about it made it seem like common knowledge for every doctor all over. Which shouldn't be; the OP universe is very Grand Line bias in terms of progression, even 100 years later we want to maintain that theme. I guess all I'm saying is, before you spout stuff you should consider whether the character would actually know it? No penalty came from it, just an opinion. Spoiler: click to toggle -A lot of repeats on what people say... I know it helps with order but sometimes it just feels like you're filling space? -I didn't really get it. Anyway.
